pov ; you are giving the birth to a baby
starring ; Hyungseok, Jonggunn, Jungoo, Gitae + honorable mention
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hyungseok : the hero we never thought of but needed. as you go into labor, he go step by step with you through it. he is holding your hand and belly when you are already in hospital. in the delivery room, he holds your hand tightly, his thumb gently rubbing your palm and just silently being patient with everything, because doctor said that you need to focus on her commands and pushing the baby, not on his voice. yet, Hyungseok is incredibly empathetic. when the pain becomes intense, he mirrors your breathing, encouraging you to breathe through the contractions. all in all 11/10, proud father and husband. crying when everything is over and you and the kid are alright.
Jonggun : he thought he would be a hero, because come on what’s so scary about giving a birth? Jonggun, convinced that childbirth is just another challenge he can handle. he really thinks his experience in life has prepared him for anything. but as the contractions start to intensify, he watches you in pain and he have no idea what to do, where to put his hands and how to help you. and when nurse helped him, telling him to hold your hand during another contraction, you grip his palm so tightly that you almost broke it. excuses himself and left the room, to smoke half of the cigarets rethinking his life. he came back when you already give a birth to his son, but doctors said that the child took all your energy, so now you’re under doctors control and care for a while. so at first Jonggun would be a little distant to the child. but all in all so proud of you and the baby. 7/10
Jungoo : another self named hero he thought he would be. he is little better than Jonggun, because he attended prenatal classes with you, and generally he is better in empathy. so he believes he has a solid understanding of what to expect and how to support you through labor. Jungoo helps you with breathing exercises, encourages you to roll on the birthing ball, and checks in constantly, making sure you’re comfortable and at ease. and everything was fine until labor room. he was holding your hands, all supportive and stuff, but then medical staff brought in the epidural needle. his composure shatters as he sees the size of the needle. “BABY, THERE IS A HUGE NEEDLE! WHY ARE THEY PUTTING IT IN YOUR SPINE?! BABY WHATS GOIN-” his voice is filled with panic, and he starts to hyperventilate. Jungoo faints right in the delivery room, causing a little chaos. annoyed lady doctor rolls her eyes and instructs the nurses to *citation* “remove the man” from the labor room. Jungoo came to feelings when you already give a birth to twins and now resting, while nurses got your babies. ah! Jungoo is super excited about his new role as a father, so he gonna TERRORIZE nurses and doctors with questions.
Gitae : no. just no. not gonna happen. he will pay for anything you want, any little whine and cry and wish, but you not gonna convince him to go to the hospital with you. he will pay for best doctors and hospital but his foot not gonna step inside. he remembered once his mother told him how she gives birth to him and he is genuinely… tensed scared. of women. and labors. like ta hell you mean you will push a HUMAN out of your body? so nuh uh. but he will came to take you home, in all glory, flowers, gifts, whatever you wanted for giving him strong, healthy boy. all in all 5/10 for leaving you, but maybe +1 point for expensive gifts and house full of flowers.
honorable mention ;
Gimyong : a hero. we knew about him. we needed him. and he was there. best boy. but kinda freaks out too because he doesn’t know what to do. should he hold your hand? but you already holding the bed frame. should he whisper something to you? but you screaming in pain. help he don’t know what to do!!!
Taesoo : scared as hell!! didn’t care at first about the child, you’ve been his #1 priority. it’s kinda gives medieval vibes but he is gonna gift you a fur from his haunt or fur coat.

🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼
WOO!
129 for 🔼:
---
“I mean, couldn’t Eddie and I take a look at it first?” Buck asks. “I can change tires. Had to do snow tires back in Pennsylvania.”
She thinks of them both changing her tires, all sweaty and greasy, and…
God, she needs to get a grip. A cool glass of water and a fucking grip.
“Did you just volunteer my soon-to-be ex husband to fix my car for me?” Shannon smirks.
“And me!” Buck protests. “I’m also handy!”
“I don’t doubt that,” Shannon laughs. “That’s not the part that surprised me.”
“Oh? Eddie? Pfft.” Buck waves a dismissive hand. “He’ll do what I say.”
It’s that easy, is it? Getting Eddie to do whatever you want? Someone teach her the fucking trick.
“It’s all just bad timing,” Shannon switches the subject. “Car wise, I mean.”
“Is it ever good timing?” Buck asks.
“Well, no. But I had things I needed to do, you know?” She sighs.
“Anything I can help with?” Buck asks.
“What? No,” Shannon laughs nervously. She is not asking him to drive her around to pick up prenatal vitamins and probiotics and all the really fun pregnancy stuff she’s running low on.
“Seriously!” Buck insists. “I have nothing to do after physio.”
“I’m sure you do,” Shannon replies.
“I really don’t,” Buck says. “My days are filled with exercises, reality television, and cooking more food than I have people to feed, just to pass the time.”
Something about that is very sad, she thinks. He isn’t the sort of person who shouldn’t have enough people around to fill his home. He isn’t meant to be lonely. She might not know him well, but she knows that.
“Okay,” she relents. “If you are okay driving me to the pharmacy, the dry cleaners, and a maternity clothing store, I would be very grateful.”
“No problem,” he smiles. She swears there’s a fucking twinkle in his eye.
Shannon is well and truly fucked.
🔼
Weirdly, Buck enjoys doing errands with Shannon. She’s fun and chatty and witty like usual. But more than that, it just sort of takes his mind off things.
His leg is fucking killing him, and he knows he’s been doing the exercises like twice if not three times as much as usual. He wishes he wasn’t in so much pain. He wishes he was further along in his progress. Even though, by all accounts, he’s ahead of where he’s expected to be. He’s just been feeling time so acutely lately. Almost three months since he left. What if three more pass and he’s not back? What if they have to find a permanent replacement?
His brain has been noisy for days. Louder and louder. He can’t really quiet it. And yet, for some reason, hanging out with Shannon does the trick. He feels helpful again, for one thing. Like he’s not just wasting his day away alone. For another, the conversation just keeps flowing so naturally between them that he doesn’t have time to think about anything else.
They talk about a lot of things. How annoying physio is. Favorite movies of the past decades. Their favorite music. The differences between growing up in Texas versus Pennsylvania. Unlike Eddie, Shannon didn’t just live in El Paso.
“I was born in Santa Fe, actually,” she says as they’re driving from the drugstore to the dry cleaner’s. “Then my dad left when I was little, and my mom just sort of followed the work she could get. El Paso, Kemah, Dallas, you name it.”
“Wow,” Buck exhales. “I moved around a lot in my early twenties. Like as far as Peru. But it must be way harder doing it as a kid.”
“Yeah, but I always had my mom,” Shannon says. “She had a good way of making everywhere feel like home. An optimism, you know?”
“She sounds like she was a good mom,” Buck replies.
Shannon nods. “She wasn’t perfect, but… Yeah. I mean, I always knew she loved me. And she did her best. She was a really good mom.”
Buck thinks there’s some sort of tragedy in that. His own perfectly healthy mother has no interest in him. Her perfectly good mother is dead.
“I’m sorry, Shannon,” he tells her.
She smiles a little sadly and shakes her head. “Thanks, it’s… It is what it is.”
Buck nods.
“I’m sad she won’t get to meet my daughter,” Shannon admits. “I’ll have to find a way to honor her in the name somehow.”
Buck smiles. He hasn’t heard anything about Little Diaz’s name yet.
“You’re going to name her after your mom? I love that!”
“Oh,” Shannon replies a little nervously. “I don’t know. I haven’t even talked to Eddie about it yet. Plus, her name was Janet. I don’t know if I want to name a 2019 baby Janet.”
Buck chuckles. “Fair. It’s a tiny bit dated. Middle name?”
“Maybe,” she says. “I’ll just have to get creative, I think.”
When they get to the maternity clothing store, she insists Buck stays in the car.
“I need to size up my bras,” she admits. “You do not need to be there for that.”
“Understood,” he says, nodding curtly.
But it’s too hot to sit in the car, so Buck walks to a coffee shop down the street to grab an iced beverage while he waits. As he does he thinks. He thinks about what Shannon said in the car about wanting to honor her mother, but not knowing how. He agrees Janet is an outdated name and he doesn’t think Eddie would ever go for it. But there’s got to be something she can do.
So, Buck gets ahead of himself. A usual problem of his.
He doesn’t know why he’s like this exactly. But he is. He likes being of service

NSB (Straud Legacy) Gen 9 Ep 102: Happy to Report
After Love Day Noemi entered her third and final trimester and couple returned to Dr. Valasquez’s office for their last therapy session.
Seeing the comfortable maternity ensemble Noemi was wearing and the pair’s attitude of relaxed intimacy filled their therapist with joy and a sense of accomplishment. It looked like some of her advice might have born fruit. She smiled, starting the session with a leading observation.
“The two of you look very happy today.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Luigi, unable to contain his excitement, kicked things off, exclaiming “we’re getting married!”.
As Noemi shyly held up her hand to show off the ring, he outlined for their therapist the lovely Love Day date his family had orchestrated for them and how after getting engaged he’d finally come to terms with the pregnancy and the new life it represented.
Dr. Velasquez offered congratulations. “I’m so happy for you both. That attitude seems very healthy and will set you up nicely for the birth.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She next turned to Noemi, who was trying to readjust herself into a more comfortable position on the small sofa.
“You look wonderful. Has the new wardrobe helped you feel better about your pregnant body?”
Noemi sighed. “After a lifetime spent eating healthy and exercising to keep in shape, seeing myself so thick and round in the mirror is still not fun. Lu helps a lot though. He’s always telling me I’m beautiful and desirable, and very good about proving his words through action!”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Another thing that helped a lot,” She continued, “was hearing that the baby was doing great at my last prenatal appointment. I might not love my new curves, but the most important thing is that my body is doing what it needs to do to nurture my little boy.”
“I could certainly do without the back pain I’ve been having, even if Lu’s a real sport about applying the kinesiology tape the midwife group told us to try.” He jumped in with a grin: “It’s fun. Artsy sort of. I bought extra because that stuff has some even more fun uses in the bedroom.”
Noemi chuckled. “And it’s handy in the robot lab too. Pretty much the only thing I can’t use it for is its original purpose, until I can return to the gym.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dr. Velasquez said that was all good to hear, though she cautioned Noemi to work her way back into an exercise routine slowly.
“It will take time for your body to heal and bounce back after birth. For now, you could always get out for a nice walk, if it feels good. With summer right around the corner the weather should be perfect for relaxing strolls around the city.”
She turned back to Luigi “It sounds like you’ve been making good progress on helping and learning to put your loved ones first, do you agree?”
“As much as I can,” he admitted, “although I’m still focused on my finals and the big game. It does feel surprisingly great to take care of Noemi.” He reached over and squeezed her hand, wondering if the secret to Papa Jack’s dedication was his focus on enjoying the happiness of others.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Luigi’s comment about finals led to a discussion of graduation and preparations for the little person that would be joining them shortly thereafter.
The couple told the doctor that they’d picked a name for their son and begun planning for his nursey but hadn’t set anything up yet.
They planned to be settled in Sulani before he was born, and getting ready for finals was taking up most of their spare time these days. After graduation they’d have time to get their ducks in a row, as neither of them intended to start work until after the baby was born.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Wait, you haven’t nailed down any of the logistics of your actual move yet?” Dr. Velasquez asked.
The sheepish look they both gave answered the question. “We wanted to, but we’ve been too busy to figure out the details.”
“I suggest you start lining up support for your move now.” the therapist said “Noemi will be in the home stretch at that point and not in a position to help as much as she might like. You’ll want to be ready for when the baby arrives, and you have a whole new set of circumstances to adjust to.”
“Your future selves will thank you for every bit of planning you do now.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
With a glance at the clock the doctor continued “It looks like our final session is wrapping up, but please remember that I’m always available if you need to talk through anything in your new life as parents, professionals, and beachside homeowners.”
Luigi helped Noemi to her feet and they both thanked Dr. Velasquez for everything. This unexpected pregnancy had presented them with its fair share of challenges but working through their feelings and concerns with the help of a professional had made a huge difference.
They left her office that day nervous but excited for the future.

Can I Exercise During Pregnancy?
Pregnancy is a transformative experience, often accompanied by a myriad of questions about health and well-being. One common query among expectant mothers is, "Can I exercise during pregnancy?" The short answer is yes, but with some important considerations. Exercising during pregnancy can offer numerous benefits for both the mother and the baby, provided it is done safely and under medical guidance. In this blog, we'll explore the advantages of prenatal exercise and provide tips for staying active, with insights from the experts at the best fertility clinic in Delhi, SCI IVF Hospital.
Benefits of Exercising During Pregnancy
Engaging in regular physical activity during pregnancy can lead to numerous health benefits, including:
Improved Mood and Energy Levels: Exercise can help alleviate common pregnancy symptoms such as fatigue and mood swings by boosting endorphin levels.
Better Sleep: Regular physical activity can improve sleep patterns, helping expectant mothers get the rest they need.
Reduced Pregnancy Discomfort: Exercise can help alleviate back pain, swelling, and constipation, which are common complaints during pregnancy.
Easier Labor and Delivery: Strengthening the body through exercise can lead to a smoother labor and delivery process.
Faster Postpartum Recovery: Women who exercise during pregnancy often experience quicker recovery post-birth.
Safe Exercise Practices
While exercise is beneficial, it is essential to approach it with caution during pregnancy. Here are some tips from the best IVF doctor in Delhi to ensure safe prenatal workouts:
Consult Your Healthcare Provider: Before starting any exercise regimen, it's crucial to get the green light from your healthcare provider, especially if you have any pregnancy complications.
Choose Low-Impact Activities: Opt for low-impact exercises such as walking, swimming, prenatal yoga, and stationary cycling. These activities are gentle on the joints and reduce the risk of injury.
Stay Hydrated and Avoid Overheating: Drink plenty of water before, during, and after exercise. Avoid exercising in hot, humid conditions to prevent overheating.
Listen to Your Body: Pay attention to how your body feels during exercise. If you experience dizziness, shortness of breath, or any unusual symptoms, stop immediately and consult your doctor.
Modify as Needed: As your pregnancy progresses, you may need to modify your exercise routine. Avoid activities that involve lying flat on your back after the first trimester and exercises that pose a risk of falling or abdominal trauma.
Exercise Recommendations
The experts at SCI IVF Hospital suggest incorporating the following types of exercise into your routine:
Aerobic Exercise: Activities like walking, swimming, and dancing can help maintain cardiovascular fitness without putting too much strain on your body.
Strength Training: Light resistance training with weights or resistance bands can help maintain muscle tone. Focus on exercises that target major muscle groups.
Flexibility and Balance: Prenatal yoga and stretching exercises can improve flexibility and balance, which are beneficial as your center of gravity shifts.
Pelvic Floor Exercises: Strengthening the pelvic floor muscles through Kegel exercises can help prevent urinary incontinence and prepare the body for childbirth.

Post Season 11 idea: Scully has a bad back ache and is feeling bad. Mulder helps.
Looking back through my prompts, I'm just realizing how old some of these are and I'm so excited to tackle them. Enjoy! @today-in-fic @x-files-fics
Scully, now twenty-eight weeks pregnant, was exhausted and beginning to feel the increased strain of her growing belly. She began to show much quicker than she remembered from her first pregnancy with William, which she knew was common in subsequent pregnancies, no matter how far removed they were. Her back ached, and the unseasonably rainy day seemed to intensify her discomfort. “I’m too old for this,” she muttered.
Mulder noticed Scully's discomfort as they settled on the couch, watching the raindrops slide down the windowpane. "You okay, Scully?" he asked with genuine concern.
Scully smiled weakly, trying to brush off her discomfort. "I'm fine, Mulder, just a little backache. It's nothing to worry about." In the grand scheme of things, she was blessed that everything was as it should be, all things considered. She was 54 and their baby girl was healthy and thriving inside of her, it was everything they hoped for. However, that didn’t mean this pregnancy didn’t come without its share of challenges.
Mulder had witnessed firsthand the difficulties Scully had faced during her pregnancy, and he was determined to make her feel as comfortable as possible. "Let me try something," he said, standing up and offering his hand to help her up as well.
Scully accepted his hand and followed him to the living room, where Mulder had laid out a yoga mat. "What are you up to, Mulder?" she asked curiously.
"I read that prenatal yoga can help with back pain," he replied, kneeling down on the mat. "Come, sit here."
Scully couldn’t help but smile at the sentiment and hesitated for a moment, but the pain in her back urged her to give it a try. She settled on the mat in front of Mulder, who began guiding her through gentle stretching exercises. He made sure to modify the poses to suit her pregnant body.
As Scully moved through the yoga sequence, she felt the tension in her back slowly easing. She looked back at Mulder, grateful for his thoughtfulness and support. "This feels good," she admitted.
Mulder smiled warmly. "I'm glad it's helping. You've been through so much, Scully. I want to do whatever I can to make this journey a little easier for you."
Scully's heart swelled with affection for her partner. Despite all the darkness, they faced these past several years, he had always been a source of light and comfort for her. He was so excited to be a father, it made all the aches and pains worth it. They continued the yoga session, and Mulder even made her laugh with his attempts at some of the more challenging poses.
After they finished, Scully found herself feeling significantly better. Her back pain had subsided, and she felt a sense of relaxation she hadn't experienced in a while. "Thank you, Mulder," she said, touching his hand gently.
Mulder shook his head, his eyes full of tenderness. "Don't mention it, Scully. I'm just glad I could help."
They spent the rest of the evening cuddled up on the couch, talking about the baby and their hopes and dreams for the future. Mulder brought out a bowl of popcorn, and they enjoyed a movie together, both content in each other's company. He would talk to their baby and she’d deliver fierce kicks to her mother’s abdomen in response.
As the night wore on and the rain outside finally subsided, Mulder helped Scully to their bedroom and helped her get comfortable in bed, arranging pillows to support her back. He then leaned down to place a gentle kiss on her lips.
"I love you, Scully," he whispered.
"I love you too, Mulder," she replied, holding his hand tightly.
At that moment, Scully knew she was blessed to have Mulder by her side, not just as a partner in their work but also as a caring and supportive partner in life. His love and thoughtfulness had a magic touch that made everything seem a little brighter, even in the darkest of times. To move back home had been the right choice and she had experienced a homesickness she didn’t realize she’d been feeling for so long. Together, they were ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead, knowing they had each other to lean on.
And so, as the night faded away, they fell asleep, side by side, with their hearts entwined and their bond growing stronger with every passing day.

Hey I love you Mateo work just wondering could U do part 2 maybe when she is labour and they came back with the baby or something like that x
I can certainly give it a try anon 🤗 I hope you like it 💚
Everyday was getting more and more difficult for you now, and because of your very large pregnant belly, even putting your shoes on was a challenge. Thankfully, Mateo has been such a good boyfriend to you, and helping you with everything you needed. He would help you with your shoes, massages, prenatal exercises, and much more.
He wouldn't even let you do the dishes by the time you were 7 months pregnant, which you were secretly happy about. You had been off work for a little while, and Joyce had given you a wonderful maternity package, so there was no worries or issues left to think about. Except the big one of course, which was actualy having the baby! You were definitely nervous about going into labour, and worried about the pain, but you hoped it would all be worth it once the baby was born, just like many other mothers have spoken about when they had their own. Neither you or Mateo knew the gender of the baby, but neither of you minded what it was. As long as the baby was healthy, nothing else mattered. You were due in 2 days, and you were eager for the pregnancy to be over, carrying that much weight and having to deal with the back pain was too much for you now. As you were sat up in bed one morning, Mateo was just getting dressed for work at the Solana. "Have fun on your last day babe" "I will mi amor, the majority leave starts tomorow!"
"Mateo, that's maternity leave" "That's what I said, wasn't it?" You can't help but giggle at him, he was so cute when he used the wrong words. But he was happy, leaning on the bed to give you a kiss, then plant another on your belly. "You stay nice and comfortable mi amor, I'll see you soon. I love you" "I love you too Mateo" And just like that, he was out the door and heading to work. You spent your morning just relaxing mostly, but also folding and putting away some cute baby clothes in the nursery. You double checked your hospital overnight back still had everything in there, you could never be to sure. A few hours later, you had just finished some lunch and were heading into the living room, when you felt the baby do a very powerful kick. "Woh! Careful there sweetheart. If your kick is that strong in there, you might just break my waters" However...it seemed you spoke too soon....The baby kicked once more, even stronger than the first one, and that...seemed to have done something you weren't expecting. "Ow! Seriously, what's with the.....oh my god! Is that? Oh sh#t...my water broke!" It was happening, it was really happening! You had no idea the pains would start so soon, why did this have to happen when Mateo was at work? Damn it! Waddling over to your phone, being careful not to slip, you call Mateo in hopes he was there. Nothing! It didn't pick up, and you called 5 times, seriously! What were you going to do? You call the front desk in hopes he was there, but no answer. You try again, and thankfully someone answered.
"Hello, Solana front desk" "Oh my god! Les! It's Y/N" "Aye yall alright? You sound like your in pain" "I am! I'm going into labour!" "Oh no!" "Where's Mateo?!" "Oh I'm sorry, Cyril has just asked Matteyo to go with him to pick up a pig for the eating contest. He left his phone hear" "Oh god, when will he be back?" "I don't know lass, but I'll send someone to come and help you right away!" "Thank you Les" "Just hang tight" Putting the phone down, you sit on the bed and try to do some breathing exercises, rubbing your belly where the pain is growing. "Oooohh! Someone please hurry up!" And not even 5 minutes later, someone with a spare key is running into your house looking for you. "Hey! There you are babe!"
Tumblr media
"Oh! Kenneth! Thank god your hear!" He runs over to you and dumps a bag beside you, quickly rummaging through it. "Right! I'm prepared for this! I've got towels, I can get some hot water-" "Kenneth, I'm in labour, I'm not having the baby right this second!" "I thought this is what you get the woman who is having a baby?! I don't know! Les just told me to get over hear as quick as I could! Fine, fine, what do you need?" "I need to get to hospital, and I need Mateo. Where is he?" "Les sent Liam to bring him back" "Liam? Was he the best person to send?" "I knew you'd say that, don't worry, he's not alone" "Who's with him?" "Uhhhh..." "Kenneth!" "It's Noreen" "Oh god!" "Look, it was either Noreen was hear with you or me! Who would have you preferred?"
Tumblr media
"Alright, you make your point-hhsss! Ooooooh! F#ck that one hurt!" "Was that a contraction?" "Well duh! Oh f#ck, I need Mateo!"
Meanwhile, Mateo is walking back to the Solana with Cyril and the enormous pig for the competition. "Are you going to help me?" "I found it, you carry it back" "You found it in the bin squirrel!" "It's Cyril! Now stop complaining and let's keep going"
Tumblr media
As they are walking back to the hotel, Noreen walks around the corner and finds them both. "Ooh hello you two, I'm suposed to come and find you young man"
Tumblr media
"Ok? Why?" "Uhh...now what was it?....Oh now I just had it in my mind" Thank the lords that Liam came running around the corner and straight to Mateo and Cyril.
Tumblr media
"Mateo! Y/N's in labour!" "Oh yes, that was it" Noreen says sweetly. "She's what? Y/N is having the baby? I must go squirrel" "What? You can't just leave! You need to carry the pig back" "Mi amor is having a baby! I need to be with her!" "Well she can hold it can't she?" "What?!" "Focus on your job first Mateo! Now pick that pig back up!" Mateo just ignores him and faces Liam. "Where is she?" "Follow me, I'll take you" They both run in the opposite direction, leaving Cyril and Noreen with the pig. "Oh that rude waiter! It's just a baby, it could have waited" "How dare you!" Noreen angrily says before she slaps Cyril. "Ouch! How dare you!" "That man and his partner are having a baby! Show some respect" She says as she walks away, leaving Cyril on his own and left with a very large pig.
Back at your home. "Alright, just breath, deep breaths-" "I AM BREATHING!" "Ok! Sorry" The pain was too much now, you were squeezing Kenneth's hand so hard, it could have crushed his bones. "I can't wait any longer Kenneth! I need to go to hospital!" "But Mateo might be-" "TAKE ME TO THE HOSPITAL NOW!!" "Sh#t! Ok ok, let's go!"
Tumblr media
Kenneth takes you to his car outside, makes sure your all seatbelted up before running back to get your overnight bag. And the moment he drives you away from the house, Mateo and Liam arrive, missing you both by mere seconds. Bursting into the house, Mateo shouts "Y/N?! Mi amor?! Are you hear?!" No answer, Liam and Mateo split up to try and find you, but there is no sign of you. "My dad said she was hear" "The hospital bag is gone, she must have gone to hospital. Who was with her?" "Dad said she sent Kenneth to be with her" "Kenneth?! How can he help?" "Well he's clearly taken her to hospital Mateo! I'll flag down a taxi, hopefully we'll catch up with them" By the time they got a taxi, you were all set up in your hospital room, with Kenneth by your side. You were trying to do your breathing with gas and air, but it was mostly screams of pain that filled the room. "Just try and-" "Kenneth! I swear to f#ck if you tell me to breath one more time! I'm going to rip your newly died hair out!" "Oohh! Who would have thought pregnancy would make you so b#tchy?" "IM PUSHING A HUMAN BEING OUT OF MYSELF YOU D#CK!"
You just wanted this all to be over, the pain was excruciating, all you wanted was your boyfriend. "Where is Mateo?!" And as if like magic, Mateo and Liam burst through the door just in time. "Mateo!" "Oh mi amor! I'm so sorry I wasn't hear" "Your hear now, that's all that matters-hhhssss! Ooooohhhh!" Mateo is right beside you, rubbing your back and trying to help you with the gas and air. "Come on Liam, let's give them some space" "Yeh, ok" He says out of breath from running with Mateo. The nurse checked you, you were now fully dilated, and she said you were ready to push. Mateo sat behind you on the bed and held you against him, holding you as you push as much as you can. You felt utterly exhausted, but Mateo gave you the strength to keep going. And with one final and extremely painful push, the sound of a baby screaming filled the room. Instant relief washed over once the baby was out, the nurse was just checking the baby over as Mateo kisses your forhead. "You did it mi amor! You did so well" The nurse happily walks back to you, handing you your baby wrapped up in a lovely blanket. "Congratulations mum and dad, it's a healthy baby girl" "Oh Mateo, she's beautiful" "She is..." She has Mateo's eyes and dark brown hair, it was quite a lot of hair, no wonder you had such bad heartburn. But every single moment of sickness, pain and uncomfort was all a distant memory, looking apon the face of your little baby girl. "What shall we name her Mateo?" "I...honestly don't know. I thought she was going to be a boy, I only had boy names. Do you have any girl names?" "There was only one I liked when I was thinking of names. What do you think about the name Delphina?" "Delphina? It's perfect. It suits her so well. Delphina Castellanos"
You all spent the next few days in the hospital, just to make sure Delphina was healthy and you were checked over too. But the time you both left the hospital, Mateo was carrying Delphina in his arms as you and him walked to the car and he drove you all home. The first week was wondeful, two new parents living with their little baby, Mateo was so helpful to you and your daughter, everything was perfect. Thankfully you healed quickly from the birth, and as long as you take it slow, you were happy to walk around and do things you used to, to a limit. You both were looking forward to showing your friends at work your baby, and you decided to do it Monday afternoon, it was always quiet on a Monday change over day. You hoped everyone was going to be happy to see your daughter, plus, you wanted people to exchange money as they had taken bets on the gender of your baby. A short drive later, you carry Delphina in your arms as Mateo got the door, and the very first person you see, is Kenneth running up to hug you both. "Oh my god! Hi guys! Awww, she's adorable. Liam! You owe me 50 euros!" "Oh seriously! Damn it! Oh! Hi guys!" Liam says as he bounds over happily. "Awww she is so little, can I hold her?" "Yeh, let's sit down over there" You say as you all walk over to the seating area.
Kenneth is the first to hold her, it's adorable how gentle he's being with her. "What's her name?" "Delphina" "Awwww! That's sooo cute!" When Liam and Kenneth take turns to hold her, that's when you hear Joyce coming out of the office. "Why are we all sat down over hear? We should be-huh! Oh Y/N! You've had the baby! Can I meet them?"
Tumblr media
And just like that, Joyce was sucked into the baby meeting too. She was simply to small and sweet to ignore. You all spent a good half an hour seeing her and holding her adorable little baby hands, but they did have to get back to work, so they did say their goodbyes with a hug. "They love her mi amor, she's just beautiful. Like her mother" "Thank you Mateo. I think I'm going to go and find Les, he hasn't seen her yet" "Ok, I'll go and grab you a drink, I don't want you dehydrated in this heat" "It's not that hot Mateo" "And I don't care, I'm looking after the both of you" He was so sweet, giving you both a kiss before heading out to the pool bar. You hold your baby girl in your arms as you walk through the hotel, occasionally passing people on their holiday that you knew. You even passed Madge Harvey and her daughter Janice, Janice looked so proud of you, one mother to another.
You finaly found Les near the childrens area, he was setting up some chairs by the stage when you caught his eye.
Tumblr media
"Oh! Look at you lass. Well done, she looks so beautiful" "Thank you Les, would you like to hold her?" "Can I?" "Of course" He sat down beside you, and you handed Delphina to him carefully, he held her like she was made of glass, very delicately. It even brought a tear to his eye. "She's gorgeous lass, I'm so proud of yah" "Thank you Les, she was worth every moment of pregnancy. I'm not sure I'd do it again though" "Aye I'm not suprised. But she is perfect, and I'm so happy for you and Mattyo" "He's loved her so much, he is always excited to get up with her in the middle of the night if she's crying" "I'd guessed he'd be like that, Matteyo is a real night owl, and getting to see his little baby is even better" "Yeh, maybe not when she throws up in him though" "Eh he he, that's part of being a dad!"

The Journey Within: Exploring the Mind-Body Connection in Pregnancy Yoga
Pregnancy is a beautiful and transformative journey that brings forth countless changes in a woman's body and mind. It's a time of anticipation, excitement, and a touch of nervousness. During this remarkable period, taking care of both the body and mind becomes essential. One practice that has gained immense popularity in recent years for expectant mothers is Pregnancy Yoga. This ancient art form isn't just about physical fitness; it's about nurturing the deep and intricate connection between the mind and body during this incredible time.
Tumblr media
Yoga for Expecting Mothers
Pregnancy Yoga, often referred to as Prenatal Yoga, is a holistic approach to prenatal care that has garnered attention for its myriad of benefits. Unlike regular yoga, which focuses on flexibility and strength, Prenatal Yoga is specially designed to cater to the unique needs of expectant mothers. It blends together gentle stretches, breathing exercises, and meditation techniques to create a harmonious mind-body connection.
The Physical Benefits
The physical aspect of Pregnancy Yoga is centered around maintaining physical health during pregnancy. The various asanas or poses help in:
Alleviating Discomfort: As the body undergoes numerous changes, discomfort and pain can become common. Yoga poses can help alleviate back pain, swollen ankles, and even the dreaded morning sickness.
Building Strength and Flexibility: Gentle stretching exercises help in building strength and flexibility, making labor and delivery smoother.
Improving Posture and Balance: With the added weight, maintaining good posture and balance can be challenging. Yoga helps in improving posture, reducing the risk of injury.
Enhancing Blood Circulation: Proper blood circulation is vital for both the mother and baby. Yoga practices stimulate blood flow, reducing the risk of conditions like varicose veins.
The Mental Benefits
While the physical benefits are significant, the mental benefits of Pregnancy Yoga are equally valuable:
Stress Reduction: Pregnancy can be a stressful time, filled with worries and anxieties. Yoga helps in reducing stress through relaxation techniques, which can have a positive impact on the baby’s development.
Better Sleep: Many pregnant women struggle with sleep. Yoga helps in improving sleep patterns, allowing the body to rest and rejuvenate.
Emotional Balance: Hormonal changes can lead to mood swings. Yoga encourages emotional balance and stability through mindfulness and meditation.
The Mind-Body Connection
The core of Pregnancy Yoga lies in nurturing the mind-body connection. It’s about fostering a deep understanding of the changes happening within, both physically and emotionally. Here’s how it works:
Breathing Awareness: Pregnancy Yoga places significant emphasis on breathing techniques. Learning to control and regulate one’s breath not only helps during labor but also creates a strong connection between the mother and her growing baby.
Meditation and Visualization: Meditation exercises help mothers connect with their inner selves and their babies. Visualization techniques can create a sense of bonding and positivity.
Intuition and Body Awareness: Pregnancy Yoga encourages women to trust their bodies and intuition. This sense of self-awareness can be empowering and valuable during labor.
The Community Aspect
Another beautiful aspect of Pregnancy Yoga is the sense of community it fosters. Prenatal classes bring together expectant mothers, providing a support network where they can share their experiences and concerns. This sense of camaraderie can be comforting and reassuring during a time when many women might feel isolated.
A Journey of Self-Discovery
In essence, Pregnancy Yoga is not just about physical fitness during 9 months pregnancy. It’s a journey of self-discovery and self-care that enables expectant mothers to embrace the profound changes happening within them. It encourages women to be in tune with their bodies and minds, fostering a sense of empowerment and inner strength.
As with any program of exercise during pregnancy, it’s essential to consult with a healthcare professional before starting Pregnancy Yoga. Each pregnancy is unique, and what works for one may not work for another. But for those who embark on this journey, it can be a transformative experience that deepens the connection between the mind and body and prepares them for the beautiful adventure of motherhood.

Young Turks Chapter 21
AO3
“I don’t want to tell anyone until we know.” They sit in the exam room, waiting on the midwife.

“You don’t trust the blood test?” he questions.

“I do. I mean, know that all is alright and that the baby is staying.”

He knows her mum had several miscarriages before Harriet came. He won’t try to talk her out of her fears. Instead, he nods and takes her hand.  He feels her breath  let out in relief as she rests her head against him.

“Hi, I am Annie and will be your midwife. You are Claire and Jamie, right?”

“Yes.”

“Very good. Didn’t wish to be in the wrong room.” Her sense of humor helps but Claire at ease. She grins at her. “Claire, I need you to lay back. Jamie, please have a seat over there.”

He moves to the seat beside the table as Claire lays back.

“This is the sucky part. The good news, I won’t have to do it every time. Must visits will just be weighing you, checking your urine, and measuring baby. Later, sonograms, fetal heart tones and that type of really cool stuff. A pelvic is done now to establish the pregnancy is there and is secure.”

“Understand.” She says. Her eyes close as Annie begins the exam. She focuses on breathing as the speculum is inserted and she is opened up.

“Everything alright?” Jamie asks.

“Just fine, daddy.  A well established pregnancy with a tightly closed cervix. Just what we want to see.”

“Thank God.” Claire says. The equipment is removed and her uterus is measured

“You are measuring seven weeks.” They are told.

“Awesome.”

“Annie I have a question.”

“Of course Claire.” She takes a seat by the table.

“My mum had three miscarriages between my sister and I. Is it, are they like genetic?”

“No. We have discovered no genetic link between a mum and daughter that involves miscarriages. In truth, unless it is late enough that test can be done on the baby, most miscarriages are never solved. We don’t know why they happen. I understand your worry. I can say that I see no reason that you won’t carry this pregnancy to term. Also, you are more then have way through the time that most occur.”

“Thank you. That helps.”

“You call the service if you have any concerns. Okay. If something just feels off. Any weird pain, though with the normal stretching and loosening of your body during this time, twinges in strange places happen. But, if it worries you, it worries me and I will check it out. Okay?”

“Okay. Thank you. It really helps a lot.”

“Excellent. Let’s  get you sat up and discuss diet and exercise, morning sickness, a misnomer by the way, happens all the time, prenatal vitamins, and the like. Will also give you an estimated date of confinement, aka due date. Now, don’t take it as gospel. Very few babies arrive on their due date.  It should more properly be called, due month as they can come two weeks before or after.”

It is a lot and they are both happy pamphlets come with each topic. They leave, an hour after entering with a stack of them, a receipt for prenatal vitamins, and a due date of April 9th.

Prenatal Yoga: Natural Pain Relief Techniques for a Smoother Labour
Pregnancy is a beautiful journey, but it often comes with its own set of challenges, especially as you prepare for labour and delivery. For many expecting mothers, managing pain during labour is a primary concern. While medical interventions are available, many women seek natural methods to help ease discomfort and promote a smoother birthing experience. One effective, natural approach is prenatal yoga.
Prenatal yoga focuses on poses, breathing techniques, and meditation specifically designed for pregnant women. These practices not only help in maintaining physical fitness but also provide an excellent way to manage pain and discomfort during labour. In this blog, we will explore how prenatal yoga can serve as a powerful tool for natural pain relief and offer techniques to help you prepare for a calmer, more comfortable birthing experience.
1. Understanding Prenatal Yoga and Its Benefits
Prenatal yoga is a form of yoga tailored specifically to the needs of pregnant women. It involves a combination of gentle stretches, postures (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama), and relaxation techniques. Here are some of the key benefits:
- Strengthens Muscles Used in Labour: Prenatal yoga strengthens the muscles of the pelvic floor, lower back, and abdomen, which play a crucial role during childbirth. Stronger muscles can help you push more effectively and may reduce labour time.
 - Improves Flexibility and Stamina: Yoga helps in improving flexibility and stamina, which can be beneficial when enduring the physical demands of labour.
- Reduces Stress and Anxiety: Deep breathing and mindfulness practices in yoga help calm the nervous system, reduce stress hormones, and promote a sense of peace and well-being.
- Enhances Mind-Body Connection: Yoga encourages a deeper awareness of your body, allowing you to listen to and respond to its needs during labour.
2. Key Prenatal Yoga Techniques for Pain Relief
Below are some prenatal yoga techniques that are particularly effective for managing pain during labour:
Deep Breathing (Pranayama)
Breathing is a powerful tool for pain management. Controlled, deep breathing helps in calming the mind, reducing anxiety, and keeping you focused during contractions. Here are two effective breathing techniques:
- Ujjayi Breath (Victorious Breath): This involves taking slow, deep breaths in through the nose and exhaling through the nose, slightly contracting the throat to create a soft "ocean-like" sound. This technique helps in maintaining focus and calmness during intense contractions.
- Counting Breath: Inhale deeply through the nose for a count of four, hold for a count of four, and exhale for a count of six to eight. This rhythmic breathing helps in releasing tension and keeping the body relaxed.
Gentle Yoga Poses for Labour
Certain yoga poses can help manage labour pain by opening the pelvis, relieving back pain, and encouraging optimal fetal positioning. Some of the most effective poses include:
- Child’s Pose (Balasana): A restful pose that gently stretches the lower back, hips, and thighs. This pose is excellent for moments when you need to relax and breathe through a contraction.
- Cat-Cow Stretch (Marjaryasana-Bitilasana): This flowing movement between arching and rounding the back helps in alleviating back pain and encourages the baby to move into an optimal position for birth.
- Squatting Pose (Malasana): This pose helps open the hips and stretches the perineum, which can ease the descent of the baby during labour. It also encourages the pelvis to open, making it easier for the baby to move down the birth canal.
- Supported Squat (Garland Pose with Support): Using a yoga ball or chair for support, this pose helps open the pelvic region and relaxes the pelvic floor muscles, allowing gravity to assist in the baby's descent.
Guided Visualization and Meditation
Guided visualization and meditation can be extremely effective in reducing pain perception during labour. Visualization involves mentally picturing a serene place or positive outcome. For example, you might imagine each contraction as a wave, helping you move closer to meeting your baby. Practicing this technique regularly during pregnancy can help you remain calm and focused during labour.
3. Creating a Prenatal Yoga Routine for Labour Preparation
To incorporate prenatal yoga into your routine, it’s essential to practice regularly and listen to your body. Here’s a simple routine to get you started:
-Begin with Deep Breathing (5-10 minutes): Start your practice with Ujjayi or Counting Breath to calm the mind and set your intention.
-Gentle Warm-Up Poses (10 minutes): Use poses like Cat-Cow and Pelvic Tilts to warm up the spine and pelvis.
-Core and Hip-Opening Poses (15 minutes): Incorporate Squatting Pose, Supported Squat, and Child’s Pose to open the hips and strengthen the pelvic floor.
-Cool Down with Relaxation (5-10 minutes): End your practice with Savasana (Corpse Pose) or a guided meditation to relax the body and mind.
4. Safety Tips for Practicing Prenatal Yoga
While prenatal yoga is generally safe, it’s important to keep the following in mind:
- Stay Hydrated and Nourished: Drink plenty of water and eat a light snack before practicing to keep your energy levels up.
- Practice Under Guidance: Consider joining a prenatal yoga class led by a certified instructor to ensure you are practicing safely.
5. Conclusion: Embrace the Power of Prenatal Yoga
Prenatal yoga offers a natural, empowering way to manage pain and discomfort during labour. By incorporating these techniques into your routine, you not only prepare your body for the physical demands of childbirth but also cultivate a sense of calm and confidence as you approach this transformative experience.
Remember, every pregnancy and labour is unique. Listen to your body, trust the process, and embrace the power of prenatal yoga for a smoother, more mindful birth journey.

Navigating The Waves: Managing Stress, Anxiety, and Mood Changes During Pregnancy
Tumblr media
Pregnancy is a remarkable transformative time filled with anticipation, joy, and love. However, it's also a time of significant physical and emotional changes that can sometimes lead to stress, anxiety, and mood fluctuations. While these experiences are common, it's essential for expectant mothers to prioritize their mental well-being. Practicing healthy coping mechanisms to help manage stress, anxiety, and mood changes during pregnancy, will help ensure a smoother and more enjoyable journey to motherhood.
Understanding Stress, Anxiety, and Mood Changes During Pregnancy:
Pregnancy triggers a whirlwind of hormonal fluctuations and life adjustments, which can contribute to stress, anxiety, and mood changes. Some common stressors during pregnancy include concerns about the health of the baby, changes in body image, financial worries, and uncertainty about the future. You might also be physically uncomfortable, struggling with fun symptoms like nausea, back pain, cramps, and fatigue. Additionally, hormonal changes can sometimes lead to mood swings, ranging from elation to sadness, without warning.
Managing Stress, Anxiety, and Mood Changes:
1. Seek Support:
Don't hesitate to lean on your support network, whether it's your partner, family, friends, or healthcare providers. Sharing your concerns and feelings can provide comfort and reassurance during challenging times.
2. Practice Self-Care:
Prioritize self-care activities that promote relaxation and well-being. This could include gentle exercise, mindfulness meditation, deep breathing exercises, prenatal yoga, or simply taking quiet moments to rest and recharge.
3. Stay Informed:
Educate yourself about pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting. Knowledge can alleviate fears and uncertainties, empowering you to make informed decisions and navigate this journey with confidence.
4. Communicate Openly:
Maintain open and honest communication with your partner about your thoughts, feelings, and concerns. Sharing the experience together can strengthen your bond and provide mutual support.
5. Establish Boundaries:
Set boundaries to protect your mental and emotional well-being. Learn to say no to unnecessary stressors or commitments that may overwhelm you during this sensitive time.
6. Stay Active:
Engage in regular physical activity approved by your healthcare provider. Exercise releases endorphins, which are natural mood lifters, and can help reduce stress and anxiety.
7. Connect with Other Expectant Mothers:
Joining prenatal support groups or online forums can connect you with other women experiencing similar challenges. Sharing experiences and insights can provide validation and a sense of camaraderie.
8. Consider Therapy:
If stress, anxiety, or mood changes become overwhelming, don't hesitate to seek professional help. Therapy can provide a safe space to explore your feelings, learn coping skills, and develop strategies to manage stress effectively.
9. Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle:
Eat a balanced diet, stay hydrated, get adequate sleep, and avoid substances that can negatively impact your mood, such as alcohol and tobacco.
10. Be Kind to Yourself:
Remember that it's okay to experience a range of emotions during pregnancy. Be gentle with yourself and practice self-compassion as you navigate this transformative journey.
Embracing Acceptance and Releasing Control:
In the midst of stress, anxiety, and mood changes during pregnancy, it's crucial to cultivate a mindset of acceptance and learn to release the need for control. Pregnancy is a journey filled with uncertainties, and attempting to micromanage every aspect can lead to heightened stress and anxiety. Instead, embracing acceptance involves acknowledging that not everything will go according to plan and learning to adapt to whatever comes our way.
When faced with challenges or unexpected changes, practicing acceptance can help ease the burden of stress and anxiety. Rather than resisting reality or ruminating on worst-case scenarios, try to adopt a mindset of openness and flexibility. Accept that discomfort, uncertainty, and even occasional setbacks are natural parts of the pregnancy journey.
Releasing the need for control doesn't mean giving up or resigning yourself to fate. Instead, it's about recognizing the limitations of control and focusing on what you can influence in the present moment. Prioritize self-care, seek support when needed, and trust in your body's innate wisdom to guide you through this transformative experience.
Mindfulness practices, such as meditation or journaling, can be invaluable tools for cultivating acceptance and releasing control. These practices allow us to connect with the present moment, letting go of worries about the future and finding peace in the here and now.
By embracing acceptance and releasing the need for control, you can navigate the challenges of pregnancy with greater resilience and grace. Remember that it's okay to ask for help when needed and to lean on your support network for guidance and reassurance. Trust in the process of pregnancy and the strength of your own inner wisdom, knowing that you have the capacity to navigate this journey with courage and resilience.
