The reward of one duty is the power to fulfil another.
George Eliot
HRH Prince Edward, Duke of Kent is one of the most underrated members of the Royal Family, always stoic he’s always been dependable and never flusters, the world needs more 'Steady Eddies'.
There’s no question that the Duke of Kent’s dedication to serving the crown and the country is beyond reproach. For over 50 years, the Duke of Kent has been performing royal duties and on behalf of the monarchy. HRH Prince Edward at a young age filled a huge role vacated by the untimely death of his father in 1942. Since then, the Duke of Kent has ceaselessly spent much of his time performing ceremonial functions, attending charitable causes and supporting various organisations on behalf of his cousin Queen Elizabeth II and the British Monarchy. He has represented Her Majesty in the independence celebrations in the former British colonies of Sierra Leone, Uganda, Guyana, and Gambia. Most recently he has attended the 50th Independence Anniversary Celebration of Ghana. He has also acted as Counselor of State during periods of the  Queen's absence abroad.
What is often forgotten is that HRH Prince Edward was a fine soldier. Much like the late Duke of Edinburgh’s naval service was subsumed by his royal persona, the Duke of Kent has never let his royal duties interfere with his army career.
Prince Edward attended Ludgrove in Berkshire for his preparatory education. He then proceeded to Eton College and later in Le Rosey in Switzerland. After school, he attended the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst, where he won the Sir James Moncrieff Grierson prize for foreign languages. After graduating from Sandhurst in 1955, the duke joined the Royal Scots Grey as Second Lieutenant. That was the start of a military career that spanned over 20 years, one which took him to various places around the world.
In 1961, he was promoted Captain; Major in 1967; and Lieutenant Colonel in 1973. In 1970 the Duke commanded a squadron of his regiment serving in the British Sovereign Base Area in Cyprus, part of the UN force enforcing peace between the Greek and Turkish halves of the island. The duke also spent time commanding a unit in Northern Ireland shortly after the Troubles in the 1970s broke out, but was recalled early on grounds of security.
The duke now maintains his link with the services mainly through honorary rank, which includes that of Colonel of the Scots Guards. He was personal aide-de-camp to his cousin Queen Elizabeth II who promoted him supernumerary Major General on her official birthday in 1983. He was later made a Field Marshal in 1993.
HRH Prince Edward is the longest-serving royal colonel in history. Not just of the Scots Guards but of any regiment in the British Army.

My question for you: Which must-see sights are on your list and which Pedro Boy(s) are joining you in your travels?
Oof Maggie, that is a big question!
One destination at the top of my list right now is Prince Edward Island. I want to see the Anne of Green Gables house.
I want to do this trip with a friend of mine but if I was going with a Pedro boy instead, I think I would choose Javi G.
Out of all of them, I think he would understand the level of fandom I feel for the series/movies/tv shows and how important it is to me. I wouldn’t have to explain if I started crying because I recognized the spot Matthew died. And he won’t get jealous if I swoon a little over Gilbert…

We would have a great time ❤️

KELL I AM POLITELY REQUESTING DOLL COLLECTION PICS AND COMMENTS ABOUT UR FAVORITE/COOLEST DOLLS IF U FEEL COMFORTABLE SHARING 🫶
dude i would love nothing fucking more than to talk about my dolls right now I Would Love Nothing Fucking More Than That Right Now
💖unnecessarily-long doll tour under the cut oh my GOD i'm so excited okay💖
first, monster high:
Tumblr media
1. Draculaura (Scaris: City of Frights, Mattel, 2012)
i snagged this doll from a flea market in 2021. somehow, the only thing missing is her purse. she even has her earrings! she's got some fairly bad glue seepage going on with her hair, but it styled decently for now, so i'm gonna tackle it later.
2. Frankie Stein (MH G1: First Wave – Boo-Riginal Creeproduction, Mattel, 2022)
i found this at my local walmart and nearly had a fucking STROKE, i was so excited. I Fucking Love Her. frankie has always been my favourite, and i'm so happy to own this creeproduction, especially considering what a nightmare distribution was in canada. the fact that this frankie made it to my grubby paws at all is proof that god is real.
3. Spectra Vondergeist (Ghoul's Night Out, Mattel, 2013)
growing up, i only had three MH dolls: a second wave frankie, a boo beach cleo de nile, and this spectra. spectra is the only childhood survivor, because i begged and pleaded for AGES to get her for christmas, because she was a GHOST and OF COURSE i wanted the fucking ghost. once i got her in my hands, i treated her like she was made of fucking gold.
she's missing her purse and vinyl vest right now, because i had to undress her for the first time ever recently in an attempt to give her a bath (which did fuck all). she's got a SEVERE case of glue seepage in her hair, as well as some brutal UV yellowing that i'm gonna have to paint over. but she's my fucking baby, and i'm gonna get her fixed up.
4. Frankie Stein (MH G3: First Wave, Mattel, 2022)
i was really iffy on G3 at first, but it has grown on me so much. i couldn't fucking believe it when i heard that frankie is canonically nonbinary in the reboot, i was ecstatic. they're fucking AWESOME, they are SO TALL, i love their face sculpt and their outfit and their accessories (which are not pictured) and their prosthetic leg is so cute and the graffiti on the leg is upside down so you can tell frankie did it themself and AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
5. Draculaura (MH G3: First Wave, Mattel, 2022)
draculaura is the always a slay. the reboot draculaura is absolutely not an exception. i'm fucking obsessed with this lil bitch, she was the first G3 doll i grabbed. she's an icon, a fashion queen, and she's chubby. i'd be here for years if i tried explaining how much that means to me.
next, LOL surprise! OMG and LOL surprise! tweens:
Tumblr media
1. Emma Emo (Tweens – Series 3, MGA, 2022)
i don't have to explain why i bought her. look at her. fucking look at her.
exactly.
2. Skatepark QT (OMG – Series 5, MGA, 2022)
i've always been a wannabe skater, even though my balance is absolute shite (but i AM working on that). my motivation behind buying lol dolls is never that deep, i just see their colours and their outfits and i go OOH SHINEY and then i'm at home fighting for my life to get into the box. idk man. they're all cute at fuck.
3 + 4: Punk Grrrl & Rocker Boi (OMG – Remix 2-Pack, MGA, 2020)
in summer of 2022, my family was on vacation on prince edward island, and we needed to kill a few hours while waiting for check-in to open up at the second campground we'd be staying at. my parents are my enablers, so they decided the best way to kill said hours was to set me loose on the toys 'r' us in charlottetown. my wallet hurt after and it ROCKED. these guys were part of my haul!
these motherfuckers have the goofiest goddamn names in the world, but i forgive them, because they are a slay. they're so cute together. their outfits are fantastic. the sides of her head are flocked so her undercut is fuzzy. they have guitars. HE'S A BOY. i love them.
5. Darcy Blush (Tweens – Series 4, MGA, 2022)
this lil lady is the latest addition to my collection, i grabbed her last week. she's very aesthetically different from the other lol dolls i have, but i could not walk away from her. i even tried, but right before we left, i ran back to the toys and grabbed her. her face is so sweet, her colour scheme is darling, and the coloured braids in her hair are so sweet ;____;
these are some miscellaneous dolls, we're moving into the barbie realm:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. Jacob Black, Bella Swan & Edward Cullen (Barbie Collector: Pink Label – The Twilight Saga, Mattel, 2009)
i got these for christmas in 2009. my mum was super into twilight at that point, i showed interest in her interests (Because She Is My Mummy), and boom. dolls.
she didn't want me to take them out of the box, since they're collector's editions.
naturally, they were removed from their boxes Fucking Immediately, because i was EIGHT. and to this day, i am still not an in-box collector (save for a couple of wrestling action figures i have). these three are very well loved. bonus points: edward's entire body is sparkly!!
2. Heather Grayson (Rainbow High – Shadow High: Series 1, MGA, 2022)
she's just a slay. idk what to tell you. i'm a sucker for split dye hair on dolls, man.
3. Elsa (Disney's Frozen II – Musical Adventure Elsa, Hasbro, 2019)
again, no complicated answer here. i love elsa. she means a lot to me. when you press the button on her chest, she sings "show yourself"!
4. Sasha (Bratz Rock Angelz – 20 Yearz Special Edition Reproduction, MGA, 2021)
i had a sasha doll as a kid, though it wasn't this exact one. she's my forever fave of the core four bratz. i got this doll on that same toys 'r' us trip in PEI, and she's so cute. i need to actually watch the rock angelz movie (i've somehow never seen ANY bratz movies).
and now, barbie:
Tumblr media
1. Princess Rosella (Barbie as The Island Princess, Mattel, 2007)
none of these dolls are in very good condition, because all four of them are mine from childhood. this ro doll literally only has the dress and sagi the red panda left; everything else that she came with was lost to time, moves and general kell behaviours. but, when you press the button on her necklace, SHE STILL FUCKIN' SINGS! THAT'S A W
2 + 3. Princess Alexa & Princess Liana (Barbie & The Diamond Castle, Mattel, 2008)
oh my fucking god i abused these lil whores. alexa's face has been drawn on with pink highlighter (which, to my credit, you can't really tell. shoutout to my younger self, hashtag beauty guru moment). liana's dress-transformation mechanism is so worn out that i swear to god breathing on her wrong will trigger the audio chip in it, resulting in this grating, tinny sparkle sound effect. their shoes and tiaras are with jesus now, but shockingly, i still have One (1) of their hairbrushes. but SOMEHOW, SOME FUCKING WAY, THEY STILL SING AND LIGHT UP, TOO. i never said they sound particularly good. BUT THEY WORK AND THAT'S WHAT MATTERS.
bonus points: their dresses' colour schemes are like the bisexual and lesbian pride flags respectively, which shreds absolute puss. and it's doubly fantastic because the diamond castle is THEE gay barbie movie. these girls are homosexual.
4. Barbie (Barbie Hair-Tastic! Color & Design Salon, Mattel, 2012)
there's no movie tie-in for this doll. she came with a salon chair, some stencils, and some spray bottles full of coloured liquid. you could "spray paint" her hair, then wash the colour right back out. i don't have the other pieces anymore, but i still have the barbie. unfortunately, i very recently melted off a section of her hair by accident while trying to straighten it (adhd moment, forgot to wet the strand), but thankfully that section is well-hidden and hardly noticeable. i just think she's pretty.
(her outfit, however, is a fuckin' SIN i hate it so bad lmfao)
and i just bought these two today, and i am so excited i think i could keel over right the fuck now:
Tumblr media
1. Rayla the Cloud Queen (Barbie and The Magic of Pegasus, Mattel, 2005)
she has all her pieces, and she comes with a pegasus.
she is so fucking gorgeous. i cannot believe my luck right now. rayla has never even been on my wishlist, she just comes with the annika doll. this is a complete and utter win for me. everything is coming up millhouse kell ybcpatrick.
2. Princess Annika (Barbie and The Magic of Pegasus, Mattel, 2005)
I HAVE BEEN WAITING TO OWN THIS BITCH FOR EIGHTEEN FUCKING YEARS. EIGHTEEN. MOTHERFUCKING. YEARS. OF. MY. LIFE. AND SHE'S GOING TO BE MINE. AND SHE HAS ALL OF HER ACCESSORIES. AND SHE COMES WITH THE LIGHT-UP WAND. SHE EVEN HAS INSTRUCTIONS.
magic of pegasus is my favourite barbie movie of all time. this is childhood wish fulfillment x1000. i'm convinced once this doll gets here, at least two of my mental illnesses are gonna be cured instantaneously. i might honestly cry once i get to hold her. i'm not over it i will never be over it i'm fucking losing my mind out here.
OKAY FUCK. that is all of my dolls. sorry that this is like. So Fucking Long. OEDKJSDJVSJDFJ. but, toys are one of my special interests, so getting the opportunity to talk about them is a treat 🥹🥹 i'm also really invested in my collections; aside from dolls, i also collect CDs, wrestling action figures, and crystals 😃💓
if you're still here 1) thank you holy fuck, and 2) reply to this and tell me your favourite barbie movie. there are no wrong answers, because they're all fucking awesome. xoxo

Prince Edward Island's waiting list for a family doctor is now at 26,422 individuals.
In addition, there is no walk-in clinic in Summerside, PEI anymore. It's the province's second biggest city, pop of ~15,000 and more if you include the surrounding towns that depend on it. That clinic closed in August after the doctor running it left. He simply announced to CBC that he was going on a "summer vacation" in August and never came back. There is no talk about reopening it.
I hope that people see this and get enraged. The government is starving our healthcare system to move toward privatization, it's as clear as day, and people are suffering so much. I feel so much sorrow about this and there's nothing I can do. so I hope people will care.
thank you so much for running this blog

Fleece, ocean, oasis and sense? 😁
Fleece: Do you have any pets?
Not currently. We want to get a corgi puppy eventually, probably after life settles down a little. My parents have a little maltese poodle named BooBoo who I’ve known since puppyhood! We actually had a birthday party for her today! It was adorable! 😁
Ocean: Do you take a yearly vacation?
Kind of- we go to the beach (or one of the many beaches around here) a couple of times a year during the spring and summer. The ocean is just under two hours away, so not a major trip. But we have so many wonderful memories tied to both the Oregon and Washington Coast. It’s always a beautiful adventure to revisit them all!
Oasis: Dream destination?
I’m torn between Prince Edward Island and Colonial Williamsburg (especially around Christmas- it’s supposed to be spectacular!) So I’m just going to say… both! 😁
Sense: Best Subject? Favorite Subject?
Best: I always excelled in English class. Even when I was really young, reading and writing came naturally to me.
Favorite: I loooooooved choir class growing up! And theatre! It was a good place to channel all of my restlessness and creative energy! Theatre was actually my first college major and I minored in vocal performance. But English Education won me over in the end. Life is wild like that! Still, if the opportunity to teach drama or choir ever comes along, I’d apply in a heartbeat!
Thank you so much for the asks, my wonderful friend! 🤗💖

Personification parent of the international countries frequently mentioned or that have physically appeared in WTTT
I wanted to figure out who would be Louisiana and Florida’s paternal grandparent and decided it wouldn’t be fair to the other countries. While there have been more countries mentioned than the one listed here; these are the countries that have appeared (Canada and Italy), mentioned multiple times (Spain and England), or were a running gag/important plot point/otherwise significant for another reason (Mexico and France)
I am a very strong proponent of each country having two government level personifications- one that handles national duties and one that handles international duties.
P.S Various sources are linked so history fans go nuts!
1) Canada - Prince Edward Island. Unable to link the main source which was the Founders’ Hall Exhibit in Charlottetown, PEI that I went to when I was vacationing there a few years ago. It was a fantastic museum that has sadly shut down.  But we always have the Canadian government to keep the personified parent dream alive
2) Spain - Castile and Léon. This was interesting as, if Spain wasn’t mentioned to be Florida’s Dad (and Juan Ponce de Léon his step-dad) I would have gone with Andalusia due to the Constitution of Cádiz in which representatives from all over the Spanish Empire came together but Florida among others was already in existence when that happened. So I went with good old Isabella of Castile and Ferdinand of Aragon forming a dynastic union and setting up the foundation for a unified Spain. Why Castile and Léon and not Aragon? Because Isabella was born first and the castle in which they lived in El Alcazar de Segovia is in Castile and Léon AND the rumored inspiration for Cinderella's castle in Walt Disney World.
3) France - Île-de-France. Because love is stored in naming your child junior. I’m actually beefing with the entire country of France right now because the French loved to centralize and decentralize their country. Philippe II was the first king to call himself “King of the French” and by the time he was in power France had long had Paris as it’s capital even if it wasn’t necessarily the geographic France that we know of today and Philippe II even lived in Paris in his castle which is now the Louvre
4) Mexico - Guanajuato. Guanajuato even rang church bells to celebrate Mexico’s birth. Also this has nothing to do with history and more to do with culture  but Guanajuato has a Kiss Alley where couples go to smooch to ensure 7 years of happiness and I’m- 🥺
5) England- Hampshire. Horrible Histories might have helped us remember William the Conqueror as the first English king (although he came from France) historians actually say Alfred the Great was the first one and the unifier of Anglo-Saxon England either way, Wessex was the birthplace of England Winchester was the capital of Wessex and that is way out of all the counties that make up what used to be Wessex, Hampshire is home to Winchester
6) Italy- Piedmont.  This is also controversial as I am going with the unification of the Italian kingdom as the birthdate which makes Piedmont home to the first capital of Italy. Consequentially for all you IDC/Inter Italy shippers (me, it’s just me, I know but that’s OK) this means that the USA was already independent and was even able to recognize Italian independence’s credentials. IDC’s a cougar but like we been knew

My mom is currently on vacation in Canada (I think they’re at Prince Edward Island rn) and she is clearly having an amazing time 😭😂
[image ID: a screenshot of four texts from my mom.
Text one reads: Live (typo’d to love) music where we're wandering, and this guy has completely destroyed the lyrics to Sweet Caroline. I want to take his guitar and beat him with it.
Text two reads: WHO DOESNT KNOW THE LYRICS TO THAT SONG?!??
Text three reads: This guy. Idiot.
Text four reads: Next up: Mustang Sally. I can't wait to see how he ruins this one.

NAME: Edward Andalasia
MAGICK STATUS: Fairytale Prince (out - so basically Magick)
OCCUPATION: Owner of Court of Roses Inc.
BUSINESS DESCRIPTION: A multimillion dollar fairytale-themed scattering of high end vacation resorts around the world, the headquarters of which, along with his personal home, is located on the island of Andalasia in the Caribbean.
Staffed by Magicks and Mundus alike, boosting castle aesthetics, enchanted gardens of pastel roses and magic getaways; it's a magical dream come true, right out of the pages of a storybook.
CURRENT LOCATION: Lives on the island of Andalasia, headed back fashionably late to his 'hometown' for the Gala
RELATIONSHIP STATUS (IF APPLICABLE): Single
CHILDREN (IF APPLICABLE): N/A
BIOGRAPHY:
Once upon a time Edward existed. Pulled from the pages of a story book and brought into the world that he did not know, but devoted his newly found life to discovery and understanding. Dropped right in the middle of a little town called Swynlake and left to find what true love really meant before his time ran out and faded like the delicate roses he was so fond of.
But that chapter didn't end the way that he thought it might. And along the way he found that love meant many things, many amazing things, but he didn't understand true love until he understood loving through loss.
He wasn't free of the burden of his curse until he was willing to accept the burden of living to carry the memory of those he parted ways with.
Once upon a time Edward loved a girl, bright as sunlight and strong as steel. Loved her with his whole heart, he knew, in those days of sword fights and laughter. Once, he loved a boy as well, all soft words and hesitant smiles, and loved him with his whole heart as well, in days watching him share the wonder of new things.
Because a heart, Edward learned, could be very full and still have so much more room.
And once upon a time he loved deeply all the people who touched his days, and loved the little town he called home, and life with all the good and bad to it.
But the girl went home to become a Queen to her lands, head lifted high and proud, and the boy went home to a quiet corner decorated by flowers and laid his head down forever, far too soon.
And Edward learned that true love could be many things, including very, deeply proud and profoundly sad.
Knowing that, knowing he would continue regardless with the memories held close with joy, celebrating what life was as he watched it unfold into what it could be next, the curse could no longer hold him.
Love is also selfish, you see, as Edward left his story for another to be written into his place on those pages. Because Edward, well, he loved life too much not to live it.
And in those years since he's built a world himself, for any who wish to take a step away from what feels real and live their own fairytale. He has been wildly successful, his business empire becoming a kingdom of sorts, and has taken in the joy of others with a radiant happiness of his own.
If the roses that bloom in the gardens of the breathtaking grounds of his resorts seem a bit enchanted? Well, that's just the touch of the ageless Prince, frozen in his years, and his powers; sometimes being born of magic makes it a part of you when you become real, and when it is joy that glitters in those pastel petals that never seem to wither no matter the time of year or location? That's only a testament to the fact that where there is wonder there grows a certain enchantment as well.
Everyone deserves their fairytale, don't they?
Edward is happy to give them just a little of that in his enchanted getaways, happy to give a little more to his endeavors at funding acting and creative arts through his Next Chapter scholarships to encourage those hopeful to write their own stories one day in their own ways. Because that's what love is as well; giving as much as you can to help people find their passion in life.
Sometimes he visits the girl, the Queen, and sees her family grow with a beautiful ache in his heart and such unbelievable peace. Sometimes he thinks about the boy and hopes, above all else, that he knows he lives forever in the tales Edward shares of their time together.
And now he's returned to the place where he became himself, to meet with old friends and share old stories and learn new ones. His own has become something truly magical, truly amazing, not at all what he expected but something sacred and astounding.
Edward has learned to live well, live for all the joys and sorrows, because life, truly, is a labor of love.

Mine is either my great grandma's potato casserole (it sounds kinda gross but it's actually sooo good) or the potato vegetable soup my mom charmed out of a lady while we were on vacation in Prince Edward Island when I was 15. It's a cream based soup with lots of veggies and optional shredded chicken!

Vacation!
So, I have returned from my first vacation in 4 years! ... Well, I returned yesterday, and I was so tired, I just didn’t want to make the Tumblr posts and all that stuff.
Where did I go? Halifax, Nova Scotia! ... Hurricane Fiona blasted the area a solid week before I went there, so I dodged quite the storm!
Tumblr media
Of course, we didn’t go all the way to Halifax just for Halifax. The three tiniest Canadian provinces are all right there, so... visit all of them!
We COULD have driven to Halifax, but... that’ll take days to get there, and we only have 2.5 days. Can’t leave our store to just employees for any longer, lest they f*ck things up real bad. So... we had to fly there. 2 hour flight! Not bad at all.
And so the moment we touched down at Halifax airport and rented a car after standing in line for 50 minutes, we headed to our first destination: Peggys Cove just southwest of Halifax.
Tumblr media
The home of the famous lighthouse overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. ... It’s the first time I’ve ever seen the Atlantic Ocean! I’ve seen the Pacific when I lived in Korea, but I haven’t seen an ocean in over 20 years!
Tumblr media
As is the nature of things, the photos don’t really capture just how refreshing and nice it is out there. And this is not a beach, so no going in the water. We had to walk/jump/climb across a bunch of giant rocks to get as close to the ocean as possible, while not touching the parts of the rock where the ocean reaches during high tide. I was a bit nervous, but as I have said, unlike a few years ago, I’m not a disaster magnet anymore. I was able to get to where we wanted to go without quite breaking my leg for the third time.
Tumblr media
Everything looked so beautiful though. I loved it! The air was so refreshing. Then again, the air was super refreshing everywhere in this trip, since we were always within close proximity to the Atlantic Ocean.
Tumblr media
After sitting on the rocks for over an hour, we went to a mud flat that’s been exposed by low tides. The water is very cold, but super refreshing, and... as is the nature of a mud flat... there are lots of creatures hiding in the mud, occasionally shooting water. A small squirt of water from the mud, and I looked down to see this small worm-like thing staring at me, I stepped near it, and it shot another squirt of water before retreating. I dug into the mud, and found a clam the size of my two fists put together.
Tumblr media
Next morning, as we’re eating breakfast in the hotel, I took a picture of the outside. And see the giant lake fog rising from the water near the town. It’s so eerie and cool!
Tumblr media
Next destination: Bay of Fundy in Alma, New Brunswick! See the world’s highest tides! ... Obviously, we didn’t go there during high tide, since there’d be nothing to see. But in low tide, we can actually walk on the ocean surface! And here we see just how high the moss and ocean plant life clings on the rocks, since the water level rises that high during high tide.
Tumblr media
The water reaches up a good 4~5 meters above the mud below, and that’s not even counting how high the mud is from the water surface during the low tide. The wind feels super cool and refreshing too. And that’s going to be a common theme!
Tumblr media
Once again climbing the sharp rocks and slippery mud to reach a good vantage point, and once again not breaking my legs! ... As we’re standing here, taking in the sights, the water level’s steadily rising.
Tumblr media
And now, after lunch, we head off to Prince Edward Island (PEI)! Of course, PEI is an island (duh), so... how do we drive there?
Tumblr media
Across Confederation Bridge, of course! A bridge across the ocean?! Oooh!
Tumblr media
... This is all I could see. The barricade was raised too high. I mean, I understand, but... aww...
Tumblr media
You can kind of see what it’s like when the bridge rises up a bit, but it wasn’t exactly awe inspiring.
Tumblr media
So PEI mostly looks like this. Well, I mean... the island is basically a giant potato farm. And boy howdy there were a LOT of potato dishes in restaurants all over the Maritime Provinces. ... And they were all so good. These were the best fries and potato salads I’ve ever had in all my years in Canada.
And PEI took a beating from Hurricane Fiona. Half the towns didn’t have power, half of the buildings were either undergoing repairs or have been repaired recently. Thousands of trees were uprooted or broken in half, some fallen onto cars, some fallen on the roads, etc. While it was really interesting to see a gigantic tree toppled onto its side, with its roots all pulled up along with the grass, I felt that taking pictures wouldn’t be right, so I didn’t. Don’t take pictures of other people’s disasters, however fascinating the tree might’ve been.
Tumblr media
And for dinner, we went to the capital of PEI and also its biggest city, Charlottetown. ... A giant tree had fallen over a major power line, and so a huge chunk of the city didn’t have power, and it felt as if the population that didn’t have power all rushed over to the part that did have power. But we managed to find a nice restaurant there, with an absolutely lovely view.
Tumblr media
After a wonderful and very expensive meal ($300?!), we took a walk by the pier, enjoyed the lovely and refreshing night ocean air, and then drove back to Halifax. ... Took 5 hours. Yes, PEI is a tiny province. But it’s still Canada, and Canada’s tiniest province is still pretty big. But, that day, we had breakfast in Nova Scotia, lunch in New Brunswick, and dinner in PEI. Three meals, three provinces.
And then after breakfast in Halifax hotel again, we headed back to the airport, flew back to Toronto, and learned of employee troubles because of course. And I have to say, the air in Toronto is definitely not nearly as refreshing as in any of the Maritime Provinces. And every meal we had there was really good... and expensive. But it’s a vacation, so prices are ignored. As long as they’re tasty, it’s fine. And they were quite tasty indeed. So all in all, a perfect tiring vacation (we drove over 1000 km in the last full day).
