Princess Heinrich (nee Irene of Hesse and By Rhine) 1866 - 1956 and her husband Prince Heinrich of Prussia (1862 - 1929)
Irene was an older sister of Empress Alexandra Feodorovna. Like her sister, she was a hemophilia carrier and had two children with hemophilia; one died in childhood. Her husband Heinrich was Keiser Wilhelm II's brother and Irene's first cousin (Heinrich's mother was Vicky, Queen Victoria's first daughter; Irene's mother was Alice, her second daughter). Although Queen Victoria was angry when the couple married because she had not been informed until shortly before the wedding, they had a very successful marriage. Irene supported her sister Alix when Alexei nearly died of complications of hemophilia at the Imperial Family's hunting lodge in Poland.

I'm still hoping against hope that Gerard and Elody might be able to reconcile just because Gerard loves her so much--- but realizing that if they don't I can totally pull in Iron Heinrich from the og story and give Gerard a boyfriend as loving and loyal as he is cuz darn it he deserves it (and I always thought the Prince should have ended up with Heinrich in the actual story anyway. The man wore iron bands to keep his heart from breaking when the prince got cursed, darn it!
Give me Childhood Friends to Lovers Heinrich who never gave up that his best friend Gerard (who he had a little crush on) was still alive out there somewhere and is so relieved to find he is even if he's stuck as a giant frog now and doesn't have a name anymore. Heinrich still loves him regardless.

It was peculiar how names stuck. The young king had been released from his enchantment, but people spoke of him as the Frog King still. And Heinrich, his most loyal and beloved attendant, they still called Iron Heinrich. Except that name they only used in hushed tones, where the king's young bride would not hear.
Putting some new emphasis on the Grimm's "The Frog King or Iron Heinrich"

Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig of Hesse and By Rhine, surrounded by his sisters
Ernest was always given a lot of support by his sisters, probably because of the trauma he underwent when his little brother Frittie died while playing with him and because of the death of his mother, who, as per the sources, caught diphtheria after giving him a kiss to console him for the death of his sister May of the same disease. Later on, he lost his little daughter Elizabeth which must have been devastating for him. But he had the love and support of his sisters, and Nicholas II seems to have also been very fond of him. As we know, there were further losses down the road. His beautiful sisters Grand Duchess Elizabeth (wearing her nun's habit in the photo) and Empress Alexandra, were murdered by the Bolsheviks.
Ernie might have been born into a life of privilege and riches, but the extent of the tragedy he experienced in his life is unimaginable.
In addition to Elizabeth and Alexandra, his sisters Irene (Princess Heinrich) and Victoria appear in the photograph.
And since all Romanov roads lead to Prince Phillip, please note that Victoria Mountbatten, Marchioness of Milford Haven, born Victoria of Hesse, and By Rhine (older sister of Empress Alexandra) was Prince Phillip's maternal grandmother. So he had Hessian blood as well.

Fav sibling dynamics in Vicky and Fritz’s kids? I low key support Willy and Charlotte just because she relied on him for support a lot.
I like them too, sucks that their relationship deteriorated. I like Henry and Willy too… so I’m conflicted (😔), I’m gonna go with the latter since they did continue to communicate until Henry’s death
