12 Y.O. Samsung tablet and notes on a train.
Physiology notes on #OneNote
Had to change the android version to a pirate one and it's running easily everything except adobe pdf reader (SHAME ON YOU! AGAIN AND AGAIN!). Proving programed obsolescence is a THING, even the battery life improved.
This tablet is completely okay and was given to me because apps wasn't running on it. My pirate android proved that the tablet is still good. Big tech corporations are the ones that blocks the user from accessing technology without constantly spending money and resources on it.
God, I HATE capitalism...

Alpha Stage Holiday Hiatus
Calm doown I'm still going to continue writing the fic! I will finish Alpha Stage.
But well, as much as I don't like it, it's Christmas, and then New Years; so I'll be taking that time to take my mind off of writing, put in fresh batteries and recharge creative energy... etc etc
Meanwhile, my ask box is always open!
Feel free to ask questions or send headcanons, anything you'd like! I'm sure you're at least a bit curious about stuff not shown in the chapters as of now.... Of course, I won't reveal any spoilers.
I will keep working on Programmed Obsolescence though... I'm having a lot of fun with it ~~

My electronic device is slowing down and my power consumption is increasing
No, your devices (phone, tablet, computer) are not less efficient. They just have more work to do and as a result are slower and consume more power.
They don’t provide you with any more services. Twenty years ago, you could already watch videos, make calls, look at classified ads and consult the press online. There’s nothing new under the sun!
And yet they are slower and consume more power. (Consumer portable power consumption trends – Research Gate: https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Yahia-Benmoussa/publication/279770603/figure/fig1/AS:669977531129856@1536746499004/SoC-consumer-portable-power-consumption-trends-1.png)
The Internet is a client (your device) and server (the provider’s data centre) technology. Content (images, sound, text) is hosted on the server. The web page can be built either server-side or client-side. This operation requires computing power powered by electricity. Since the invention of the Internet, most web pages have been produced by the server. However, with the sharp rise in electricity costs, providers (Facebook, e-commerce, etc.) have modified their sites so that this work is carried out by the client (your device). They are no longer the ones paying for the electricity, but the consumers. The devices are slower because they have to produce the calculations for the web page. They consume more electricity.
Suppliers like Facebook boast that they have reduced their carbon footprint by 85% and advertise themselves as virtuous and committed to sustainable computing. But all they have done is shift electricity consumption into the home.
As a result, consumers are being forced to buy more powerful devices to carry out their calculations, and will end up with higher electricity bills.
As far as the environment is concerned, there is a lot of polluting electronic waste. The construction of new devices is also polluting. Home appliances are a hundred times less efficient at using electricity for the same task than data centres (collections of servers). And it’s electricity whose origin we can’t control, especially in developing countries.
To increase the profits of the suppliers, users get a slower service, which consumes more electricity and therefore needs bigger batteries and the obligation to buy new equipment to make it usable. It’s a total regression.

Apple faces investigation in France over accusation of planned obsolescence
Prosecutors are now looking into claims that Apple intentionally causes its devices to become obsolete to compel users to purchase new ones
The probe into purported misleading commercial practices and planned obsolescence has been under way since December, the Paris prosecutor’s office said.
It follows a complaint filed by the Halt Planned Obsolescence (HOP) association.
HOP said it hoped the…

“Oh...you are not going anywhere.”
Villain Donatello? On my blog? It’s more likely than you’d think extremely likely.
The Programmed Obsolescence AU by @snailsnaps is just *chef’s kiss*~ I mean, how can I say no to a decidedly unethical use of technology and non-consensual body modifications? I can’t, it’s literally my favorite thing.

somehow the trope i can't handle is "total replication of sentient mind into a clone" in horror specifically for just, i love annihilation the whole movie but the only horrifying part to me is the scene of, the clone forcefully almost merging and replicating every movement and pushing and pushing against the skin, still can't handle it, obviously love a bunch of movies with it but that's really the most physically nauseous stuff for some reason to me

why does every tech company, soft or hard, nowadays insists on blackboxing their users?
i know why, it's a rhetorical question.
but i know my phone has the function, the os on it allows for it's use. but i also have to do research for hours on practically unusable even with plugins search engins to find out which exact third-party app to install and which buttons to click to access my PHONE'S BASIC OUT-OF-THE-BOX functionality??
tech literacy is truly and well dead, killed by everyone, from no-name chinese app developers, to big names like apple and google.
i want my privacy options in plain view. i also want basic bare-bone tech functionality in plain view.
