There’s a very important distinction in the founding American philosophy that goes unrecognized by far too many people. You have the right to the “pursuit of happiness” not to happiness itself.

There are so many things in this world to fall in love with and just as many things that will bring you happiness outside of a person so maybe the focus should be more on that.

"We shouldn’t work less simply because it allows us to be better workers. We should work less because it allows us to be better humans."
The problem here is that our American culture of total work is so destructive and completely unnecessary. What's the point of having an advanced society if we continue to operate with a 16th century "work ethic"?
Rich people want you to work until death while they bask in the fruits of your labor and their manipulation of tax codes and financial markets. They demonstrate that the goal is leisure while making it more and more difficult for you to relax and enjoy your life. Why? Lack of ethics? Lack of morals? Apathy? Apathy is the opposite of love, after all.
We really need to rethink how we live. There's no reason for everyone to work, producing so much garbage were growing in it. We could live better, and really, isn't that the only thing people really want?

Oh God Your Backstory For Mario And Luigi Just Gave Me The Most Gut Wrenching Angst Idea, Just Imagine This Whole Clip
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dLwjEtY4uas
But With Teen Mario And Young Luigi, Literally I Bet Mario Hade To Sacrifice So Much Just For Luigi To Be Happy, He Is Such A Good Brother :(((
OMG, I'm crying! I love this so much! I can imagine Mario telling Luigi stories like this to cheer him up when times got rough.
--------------------------------------------------
Luigi snuggled closer to Mario, the cold bench beneath them making both brothers shiver. Mario ran his fingers through Luigi's hair, gently untangling the dark strands. The younger boy stared into space sadly before speaking.
"I wanna go home." Luigi whispered. Mario shook the tears away at this. Anger blossomed in his chest as he thought of his parents. It was their fault they could never go home.
"Hey, we don't need to go home. We can go somewhere even better!" He said, brightening up as he got an idea. Luigi turned his head to glare at his brother.
"No we can't."
"Yes we can!"
"No, we can't!" Mario chuckled wetly, swallowing the lump in his throat. He pulled a music box from his coat pocket. Luigi sat up, peering at it skeptically.
"Yes, we can. With this, we can go anywhere we want. We could even be whoever we want!" Luigi still looked unsure, so Mario pointed to the crank.
"We just have to turn this crank, and let the magic happen! Close your eyes." Luigi shook his head, still frowning.
"You close your eyes, I wanna see!" Mario smirked, obliging.
"Ok, let's crank it together." He found his brother's hand. Together, they twisted the crank.
"Close your eyes, Weegie!" Mario exclaimed. Luigi obeyed, squeezing his eyes shut. As the soft music began to play, Mario opened his eyes. He shook his brother excitedly.
"Hey, look! Look, Luigi!" Luigi opened his eyes, seeing the same deserted subway station.
"See what?" Mario pulled Luigi up from the bench, bright smile rubbing off on his brother.
"Look where we are! There's a lake with bright blue water over there! And over on that hill, there's a Castle! Don't you see it?" Luigi giggled, playing along.
"Yeah! Yeah, I see it! There's dinosaurs too! Over there!" Mario's laugh echoed through that subway station.
"Haha! Yeah, I see them! What do you want to be?" Luigi gave it some thought, then his eyes lit up.
"Can we be princes? Then we can live in the castle, and be happy forever!" Mario gave him a bittersweet smile, rubbing his back.
"Yeah, bro."
"We can be princes."
In that deserted subway station, neither boy could ever imagine that their fantasy would become their reality...

So polygon reviewed Remnant 2 and called it boring - and while there’s some background where the reviewer definitely doesn’t like that kind of game fundamentally, I feel like if you dins boring a game where you travel from contemporary earth, that had a major apocalypse in the 50s/60s due to connecting to the realms children dreamed of, where you travel to said realms one of which is 100% just bloodborne with elves…like what even makes you happy

Monuments: Beyond the Star
A friend is letting me watch the Monuments series through their Disney Plus account. The series is a decent companion to Beyond the Story and the individual interviews offer interesting additional insights into their state of mind at different points in their career.

I've just finished getting up to date with Episodes 3 & 4. Bang PD generally gives me the heebs but what he said about success and happiness not being synonymous was worth highlighting. The COVID footage in Episode 4 was a stark reminder of how alone we all were during that frightening time. It also highlighted how BTS members supported each other. We know Jimin struggled but, how much worse would it have been without J-Hope messaging him on the group chat or RM face timing him?

Article of Faith 12
I believe that mankind has natural rights, such as life, liberty, & the pursuit of happiness, and that if government violates these rights it is the duty of its citizens to change the government, first, through political means, then by peaceful protest, before open rebellion.
