potentially the most fucked up moment in Barry season 4 is Barry's reaction to Sally saying "Let's go." He's SHOCKED. He was planning to make a new identity with her, yet he reacts to her willingness to do so with astonishment.

He's been telling the FBI that she'll want to join witness protection with him, but he clearly doesn't believe it himself. When the agents emphasize that Sally would lose everything she ever had, Barry just. makes a pained face. Because he knows that this is tragic for her. He 100% BELIEVES that forcing Sally to abandon her life will devastate her. And then he goes on as if it's guaranteed she's going to join him.

So Barry being so SHOCKED that Sally wants to do the thing he was already planning for her to do.....god. It drives home that. He really just. He doesn't care about her at all. He doesn't care about what she wants or whether she's 'okay' or ""happy,""",, he only cares about how much he wants her there.

Xeno 2 has many many many many issues and one of them is Pyra and Mythra remaining as two separate people because that kinda defeats the whole point. However, this wouldn't have been a bad development if they had like, kissed each other instead of Rex.

Found a way to summarize my thoughts on the missed potential of IDW Optimus and Pyra Magna in a nutshell. She might’ve had a point if she had actually tried to teach Optimus like she said she would in their first meeting, but between then and OP volume 1, they pretty much barely talked to each other unless it was about tactics...

Hi there! An odd sort of question, but is there some unspoken convention on bestowing colorful monikers upon hummingbird species?

For example, those broad categories of Sunangels, Visorbearers, Coquettes, and others... my favorite among them is the Marvelous Spatuletail. They all seem to have had special attention when being identified, and I thought perhaps there was some logic, if not tradition, behind the naming.

Hummingbird Names:

Yes, there really is a convention of giving hummingbirds ridiculously colorful and creative names...

Ruby Topaz, Tourmaline Sun-angel, Tufted Coquette, etc...

Linneaus described a lot of these hummingbirds, but I can't remember if he was the one who named them in English.

Obviously, there is a huge variety of hummingbirds, with a variety of amazing coloration. We can't just name them after colors and patterns, or we'd run out of naming pretty quickly, so ornithologists started going with more poetic naming.

—"What you're thinking about, big guy?"—

The voice of his human awokened the monster out if his erratic state. By the look on (Y/N)'s face, it seems like they've been trying to get his attention for a little while.

—“Is everything alright?"—

He let out a short metallic clank and nodded ones.

—“Just zoned out I see.”— you chuckle as you lean against his broad shoulder. —“I was daydreaming too, but had to stop when someone began to squeeze me a bit too much."— you add.

Squeeze-? Oh, right. The beast was currently walking through a corridor of the building they've unofficially turned into their home. Only that, Pyra was the one moving. (Y/N) meanwhile was being carried by the monster, their body effortlessly supported and held closely by one massive arm of their lover, whose grip was a bit too tight at that moment.

The two of them were silent most of the walk, just enjoying the presence of the other one. But the quietness was interrupted when (Y/N) softly hummed.

—"Have I ever told you you're very handsome?"— you playfully say as you look at his pyramid shaped helmet.

(Y/N) couldn't hide their grin, not when their lover lowered his head down as if he got flustered. Only when a small giggle escaped them is when Pyra squeezed them against himself, causing them to laugh instead.

—"Alright alright, I get it. No saying pretty things about the big scary Pyramid Head."—

Pyra doesn't react to their comment, at first. But soon a quiet little growl would slip from inside his helmet as he moves it to then gently nuzzle one of the edges against them. (Y/N) giggles again, and responds to the gesture by running one hand along the rough metallic surface of their lover's head.

Pyra's been acting very clingy since he had returned. A few hours prior he had left abrubtly, leaving his little human all confused. Despite being a tag startled, (Y/N) wasn’t too concerned, probably his duty as an executioner and punisher of Silent Hill calling. But imagine their surprise that when as soon as he came back, instead of a usual greeting like nuzzling his helmet against them or licking their cheek, the monster simply yoinked them up and began to walk with them in his arms.

The whole time their walk lasted, (Y/N) couldn't stop thinking about what Pyra could have in mind. They've been his for a long time already and know that things never happen out of the blue with him, there is always some sort a reason for everything he does. Though some could be quite... Silly or small, maybe straight up petty. (like when they were 'too tolerant' with a Creeper, a fucking bug. Jeez they probably were carried and manhandled like a rag-doll for a week-)

They zone back in when Pyra suddenly stops and gently sets them back on their feet. (Y/N) eyes the room curiously, but it seemed to have nothing out of the ordinary or special, just another abandoned room of Silent Hill.

—"So... You want to chill in here for..."—

Their voice quietens when the beast suddenly sticks the sword into the floor and stalks towards one of the few furnitures the room had. (Y/N) observes him in silence, curiosuty slowly morphing in confussion when they witness their lover open and take something from the inside. Huh? Okay... That's something new.

And the silence remains even when the monster turns back and begins to make his way towards them.

The executioner is known for his brutality and determination, never backing away or leaving his victim be, always hunting them down and providing the scariest of the punishments...

This is how everyone viewed him. Viewed it.

(Y/N)? They already seen a side of him that no mortal or creature could ever imagine, but it seems like such side had corners yet to reveal.

When close enough, Pyra reaches for (Y/N)'s hand and brings it towards himself, their palm facing up. Then, he places...

—"...!?"—

(Y/N)'s breath shakes a little and eyes wide when they see what was placed on their hand.

Flowers. Paper flowers.

The time seemed to freeze and reality fade away. (Y/N) couldn't believe their eyes. Pyra... Pyramid Head himself, just gave them a gift?...

They take in the apparence of said gift. The flowers weren't perfect, more like a bunch of scrunched paper shaped the best it can be into a flower. But even if the result wasn't the most perfect, the effort and care put into these was reflected... Wait, did...

(Y/N) slowly drags their gaze towards the monster, who was standing in front of them completely still.

...Did he made these?

...For them?

The silence was suffocating. (Y/N) remained frozen in place, their eyes now directed again to the flowers but their gaze seemed lost. The beast remained just as still, even his breathing got quieter.

Pyra is known for his steel composure. He never experienced anything like fear or anxiety. If anything, he is the sourse of these. But now? Now he's probably feeling something of this for the first time of his existence. Was that a bad decision? Did he reopened the already scarred wounds by reminding (Y/N) of the real world and the fact that they've been gone for so long? That they will never return to see the real flowers and life without him going absolutelly ballistic about it?

Maybe it is, maybe it was a bad idea... But the attempt was worth it, right?... They always observed the few pictures and paintings of nature with such fond eyes, trying to take in and store that little piece of landscape into their memory. They always showed particular likeness to flowers, sometimes drawing those and commenting which are their favorites. He never really got the point of these though, but (Y/N) liked them so it had to be important.

Only when he witnessed some unfortunate newcomer making some using paper, is when he really started to think about it. And after seeing how (Y/N) perked up when they saw yet another landscape drawing, something just snapped inside of him and he knew he had to take action.

And now, seeing how still his human is, he really began to second guess his decision. They must be dissapointed with the results, he had to try harder and be more careful... But it's so damn hard to fold the paper without breaking it with these damn huge hands of his-.

The sudden sensation of arms wrapping tightly around his waist pulled the monster out of his thoughts. Pyra tilts his helmet down, looking at (Y/N), who's face was hidden in his chest. Their shoulders would shake at times and a muffled huff would come out... Are... Arethey sobbing?

Pyra of course tensed, clearly affected by seeing his lover cry. But when (Y/N) lifted their head and looked up at him...

—"Thank you... Thank you so much...!"—

Yes, there were tears in their eyes... And so the shine of absolute hapiness and gratitude, so pure that it resembled the eyes of an angel, at least to him.

—"I-... It's just-..."— you let out a small chuckle as you struggle to put your thoughts and emotions into words. —"It's just... No one ever did something so... So loving and special for me."—

(Y/N) falls silent again as they snuggle closer to Pyra, most likely realizing that no ammount of words could express just how thankful they were. As they're clinging to their lover like a lifeline, they feel his body slowly relax and then contract just enough for him to wrap his arms around their form, hugging them back.

They stayed like this for a good ammount of minutes, just holding each other while (Y/N) spoke time to time, gifting Pyra with their lovely voice and more gratitude. It's a small thing, yes, but for (Y/N) is huge. Especially because a creature who never even concerned itself with such silly meaningless things like flowers made it, putting its time and effort into the gift for them.

When it became clear that the snuggles wouldn't end anytime soon, (Y/N)'s body is suddenly lifted into the air and swung over a shoulder to then be carried towards the closest wall. Despite being manhandled, (Y/N) couldn't stop smiling and would often giggle as they're transported like a sack of potatos. It's a bit of a contrast with the usual gentleness their partner handles them. But hey, Pyra's allowed to have some fun too!

They're both soon settled down, embracing each other once again. Pyra sitting and leaning against the wall while (Y/N) is cofortably nestled on his lap and against his chest. They observe the paper flowers, fingers carefully tracing along the imperfect petals that they're looking at with such love-filled eyes.

—"They're beautuful, really. You're very talented."—

A small rumbling groan escapes from Pyra's helmet as he tights his grip around them.

—"I'm serious! You're an amazing artist!"— you exclaim. —"Just look! Your hands and strenght have the triple of my size and power yet you still managed to make it look like a flower! Bet If I tried to make one it would end up looking like some cursed paper mess."—

He groans, clearly disagreeing with their statement. (Y/N) simply sighs with a giggle.

—"If you don't believe me then we could try to make some more later."— you cassually comment.

Pyra remains quiet, thinking. Eventually he makes a noise and dips his head in a small nod, agreeing with the suggestion. (Y/N) smiles, their eyes sparkling with excitement and joy, as genuine as from a little kid. 

The monster would definitely smile if he had a face for it. He haven't seen (Y/N) this bright and alive ever since they realized their feelings for each other are mutual.

Looks like his assumptions were right, flowers indeed are important for his human if it made them feel like this.

To be honest...

He kinda likes them too now.

An update on the Transformers CyberWorld situation.

Without a shadow of a doubt, it’s the next cartoon as a new copyright notice on Hasbro’s part includes animated series.

So we’re moving on from EarthSpark. A well intentioned successor to Rescue Bots aimed older that … just didn’t stick the landing for many reasons (no Nightshade being Enby isn’t one of them, but among certain groups it didn’t exactly help either…).

So what can we expect going forward.

Honestly I think we’re in the middle of a shift, creatively.

Cyberverse & EarthSpark clung to a lot of IDW centric ideas about how the Autobots are shady & the Decepticons are the actual heroes.

Skybound and TFONE are to be returning to traditional Heroic Autobots and Evil Decepticons. Starscream & Shockwave are absolutely psychotic, Soundwave is more professional in an ends justify the means capacity, and Skybound Optimus being praised for a much needed return to the strong enough to be gentle vs the introverted millenial/Gen Z kid most stuff lately has cast him in. And just by official trailers and snippets alone, ONE’s fixed a huge problem with the cast system thing started by Aligned, by making future Autobots into the oppressed miners and from what we can tell, the future Decepticons being among those who either benefited from the system or joined Starscream’s splinter faction, a faction that likely has no benefits to Cybertron as a whole.

It does feel like there’s a bit of course correcting to go with a more traditional route most casuals expect. Even a recent toyetic promo for ONE where the actors play with the toys with some football players, among them is the one who calls himself Megatron, & the players express mild skepticism on an origin story, when they all know Optimus & Megatron are mortal enemies so why bother having them be friends previously or some such. I can always appreciate when a studio expresses self awareness and happily pokes fun at itself.

It also feels like they’ve realized they’ve both overexposed certain characters and also realized certain characters don’t work.

I think RotB and Skybound’s willingness to kill off Bumblebee shows even Hasbro might be sick of him now. His absence so far in early CyberWorld leaks seem to point in this direction too. A recent promotion and opening animation with Squad Busters doesn’t have Bee, but instead uses Elita. It also keeps Megatron and the Decepticons as the villains.

I don’t think Bee is going away, since he’s a major component of TFONE, Reactivate (whenever that sucker comes out), and that separate racing (?) game thing, but outside of EarthSpark, it does feels like they’re trying to move away from him a little. Cyberverse also sticks out as it’s pretty clear the writers wanted nothing to do with Bee after S1, but Hasbro marketing and rebranding made Bumblebee a huge focus, confusing matters, as despite the rebranding, Bee’s role had greatly diminished. (Like realistically, it should’ve been Bumblebee leading the Autobots during the Quint occupation, not Hot Rod if Hasbro was that insistent about it.)

Elita is also an interesting change. For years, Hasbro seemed content to ignore her (and her squad) in favor of Arcee, with Hasbro & IDW trying to beef up female presence with “OCs” Windblade & Pyra Magna among others to little fanfare. Indeed, Windy appears to be benched in favor of Elita-One who has gotten more attention post Netflix WFC (that god awful show did one thing right and it was bring back a Female Autobot people actually like to complement Arcee).

I stand by the series still has a villain problem, and EarthSpark didn’t help by trying to make the Decepticons sympathetic moody Autobots, but also not properly taking advantage of Mandroid, Croft and (so far) the Quintessons. This has been an issue for the bulk of IDW, Cyberverse, & RotB as well, by either omitting Megatron, trying to redeem Megatron into a good guy and/or his replacements not being up to snuff/killed off too quickly. Scourge & Mandroid were steps in the right direction but alas. The Quintessons are also a step in the right direction but Hasbro seems semi hesitant to do much with them, despite their increased presence. (I’m leaning towards it being most toys related to them don’t sell, which is what will make a future Void Rivals toy line interesting…)

So now we’re at CyberWorld.

The lack of Bee in favor of Mirage due to his popularity from RotB seems telling among the Autobots, though we don’t have Elita so far in this series curiously.

All we have to go on Decepticon wise is Galvatron, Scorponok, and Sky-Byte, but that’s still a pretty big change up.

While they still have relevance in TFONE, Screamer & The Waves’ roles in EarthSpark are mostly minor, with Starscream as the standout (in a bad fan fic kind of way). Skybound mostly has ignored Megatron, slowly building up to him in stuff like Cobra Commander, with Starscream getting the crap beaten out of him, and as of the recent issue, Shockwave’s fate isn’t looking too good, leaving Soundwave. It does feel like Hasbro is willing to experiment more outside of Screamer & The Waves, given their absence this far in CyberWorld. Galvatron is also a surprise, given the “Let’s make Megatron an Antihero!” phase started in IDW, that carried over to stuff like Prime Wars, WFC, CV & ES.

I feel like using Galvatron is an attempt to both move away from Megatron for a bit, but to also still technically use him (as a villain) as usually Galvatron IS Megatron. Scorponok, at least in comics and the Headmasters anime, is typically a main villain, but how that works here we don’t know yet. He’s either G1 Marvel Scorponok or BW Scorponok, there’s very little inbetween.

So I think what we have is a big change that is going back to basics like Skybound did, but is willing to still experiment with other characters to add variety. Plus let’s be honest, having multiple Megatron toys from three different things with little visual difference is a sign of stagnation. Shaking it up with Galvatron is an improvement post TFONE.

I genuinely love Rex as a character. He's just genuinely a good person. He meets Pyra once and decides that he personally will take her back to her home, not just to help her but in hopes of helping Alrest by proving it's real. I would die for him your honor.

And like... it's not a coincidence that he's a young protag either, cuz young people (including kids and teens) are so often rebuked and pushed aside when it comes to important discussions or voicing problems with the world. "Just wait til you grow up, it gets worse!" is what so many adults tell kids. It's sad.

But he doesn't lose his love for people or the world and genuinely wants to do things to help everyone, even if it's considered a pipe dream. And it ends up that the "pipe dream" is actually pretty fucking simple because it comes down to "if we're all good to each other, we wouldn't have to search for Elysium because it's right here where we make it." UGHHHHH IT'S SUCH A GOOD STORY AND REX IS SO GREAT

What I really love about the localization of xenoblade is the dialect split that was introduced in translation into English. After having 1 All-British cast and 1 mostly-American cast, Xenoblade’s English voice acting found a very interesting evolutionary path going forward in 2 and 3 wherein all human characters are given some kind of regional British English accent, and all Blade characters are given North American accents (save one for spoiler reasons).

An oft-overlooked nod to this division, is that occasionally an “American” sounding character (like Pyra or Mythra) will have a rare battle dialogue or other random line where they refer to something in imperial measurements, as opposed to the metric measurements that the game uses otherwise universally. Characters don’t respond or ask follow-up questions about these alien measurements because they did nothing odd in the original script, the localization simply slipped it in there as a cheeky meta joke.

These lines are pretty impossible to find on purpose in the game so for more information, google “Pyra feet”

Yanno, I can't help but notice that we've had two robot husband polls, but not a single one for any ladies ( At least, not to my knowledge )! I for one think that's a crime, so I aim to change that.

The matchups in this poll were set up via randomizer, but I did tweak a few to feel a bit more fair? I hate to have big names go up against lesser known characters, but it's sometimes just unavoidable... If I forgot any major characters, I apologize. I'm pretty knowledgeable, but TF is a big franchise, and i'm bound to miss something. As a note, i'm not including children or characters that feel too close to children for my own comfort. That's why Gauge, Twitch etc etc aren't present.

Rounds are set to run for 24 hours, and then i'll allow myself a small grace period to prep for the next one. I'll deal with ties and such if and when they arise.

Though i've used particular images for each match up, let it be known that any listing isn't continuity specific. You're voting for all versions of a specific character, not just one! No worries.

If ren and pyra where faunus what do you think they would be?

I have a feeling ren might be a frog or a gecko

So I'm a guy who usually only plays around with the Faunus traits on RWBY characters, either for education or to just share something fun that I learned about these animals DESPITE CRWBY constantly hammering in unfun statements like "Blake isn't a cat, she's a cat Faunus". But I digress... I think.

Ren and Pyrrha, though, as Faunus would be a pretty neat concept and I've played around with them on more than one occasion. I've seen Ren being portrayed as a sloth and sloth bear a few times, though I personally see him more suited with snake features. Mostly because the first time we see him, he kills a King Taijitu using martial arts/aura, and my head instantly clicks to snake-style kung fu. As for Pyrrha, I've seen her as a fox, a dog, and I've played with her as a tiger.

For story purposes, I'd make Ren a Snake Faunus and Pyrrha a Lion Faunus.

Ren would have venomous fangs and would occasionally do that cute snake yawn where his mouth expands. This is for nothing more than fan-service. Trust me, everyone will love sleepy snake yawn. They'll put it on a shirt.

Pyrrha as a lion Faunus as to her whole "Invincible Girl" brand, maybe even calling her "The Lion of Sanctum". This would also make her rivalry with Arslan Altan interesting, too, with their battle at Sanctum being called "The Battle of the Lions". Pyrrha would be put up on a pedestal all the more, even getting fan-mail from the White Fang. And yet the only person who still doesn't recognize Pyrrha after all this attention is some blond kid with an upset tummy on planes.
