My Journey of Never Give Up
Tumblr media
I was born on 27th July 1989 with Cerebral Palsy disease; a neurological disorder which affected my right side of body including speech. I had experienced verbal bully and child abuse (of every kind). I attempted suicide many times. My first suicide attempt was in 5th grade of primary school. I hurt myself many times. I didnt accept the way i was born.In 2009, I had a motorbike accident  due to which i am facing consequences till now. After one month, I had my first epilepsy attack in home. I fainted for almost 30 minutes. Later, It was diagnosed that i have epilepsy disease by my family psychiatrist. I started my treatment. In 2010, I discovered Kpop during my treatment process which changed my whole life. I started smiling again. It changed my perception about myself and my diseases. I accepted my myself the way i am. In just two years, I left all medication. I got free of epilepsy.
In 2012, I got recognition for my promotional documentary from Korean rookie artist “JJUN” and Korean news portal like Herald and Naver. I was the first Pakistani fan whom received  signed poster and albums from singer himself. Unfortunately, he is not active these days.It seems he left music.
Tumblr media
In 2014, I went into depression after my university graduation. In 18th of December i undergone into abdomen surgery which is still a nightmare to me. My struggle with depression continued after my surgery too. I started working to get busy myself. I spent most of time watching Korean dramas and movies. If I wasn't a hallyu fan i would have died at that time.

                                                 After Surgery
In 2016, my life took a new turn when i won the preliminary round of KBS Quiz on Korea 2016 and went to sponsored South Korea trip to represent Pakistan in final round. The 7 days were the happiest day of my life and still it is. I met myself there. I interacted with participants from different countries and explored their cultures. I met my Korean friends for the first time. I attended KBS Music Bank. I met Monsta X, Lee Hwi Jae and Sistar’s Bora.
Tumblr media
                                      I am with Monsta X
Tumblr media
I am with Lee Hwi Jae (famous Korean MC)
After returning back from Korea, i felt i was thrown into cage again. My brother left home to marry his girlfriend. I ended up in hospital. I was suffering from panic disorders and epilepsy again.(after 5 years). I faced domestic violence when my brother left home.It wont be wrong to say that 2017 and 2018 were worst years of my domestic violence. Due to this, I tried three times to go back Korea for studies but failed.  In 2018, my mental health started deteriorating day by day. I committed suicides by taking sleeping spills. I deleted my previous Facebook page of over 1k followers. I deleted all my previous YouTube videos too. Then i decided to go somewhere else to safe myself. I applied in Malaysian University, Limkoking University of Creative Technology. and got admission there. Now my mental health is stable though sometimes i get stress out but i know how to take out myself from it. I am studying the course which i was passionate about so many years. That is Master in Digital Film and TV.In Malaysia, I am free to live my life without any fears. Chinese and Malaysians are very friendly and cooperative with me. I am sure I will go back to Korea one day and get chance to work with Korean filmmakers. Fighting
^_^
[UPDATE] I took the challenge by directing hearing-impaired boy in my debut film "Love Yourself". The inspiration of this film came from my personal experience in life working with hearing-impaired students. I have written the script and produced my film as well. It got selected in UK based film festival "First Time Filmmaker Session 2019" organized by Lift-Off Global Network. It gives the platform to independent film-makers to showcase their films at Pinewood Studios, Raleigh Studios, Hollywood. I got into Top 5 with public voting on online screening at Vimeo, out of 100 short films in my category. I won the free Intermediate Membership with Lift-Off Global Network for one year. With this achievement, I would like to break the glass ceiling attach with physically challenged people in Film industry. I would like to be a source of inspiration for the unheard people. It was not that easy task for me when I initiated this project. I started this project with the strong self determination and aim to fulfill my career goals in life.

okay it’s time for some rhythm ranting (i came up with that and i am so fucking proud of myself for it)-
so rhythm heaven megamix is the fourth rhythm heaven game, preceded by three other games (as you may guess): rhythm tengoku for the gameboy advance, released in 2006 in japan only, rhythm heaven for the ds, released in 2009, and rhythm heaven fever, released for the wii in 2011/2012 and for the wii u in 2016. as megamix’s name implies (esp it’s japanese/korean name, rhythm tengoku (in japan)/rhythm world (in korea) the best+), it’s a mix of lots of rhythm games from past games. not all of them, though, because the developers wanted to spite us by not putting bon odori in. /j oh and like people like dj school and shit and it’s not in it. people modded dj school in though, no i am not kidding, people literally modded in a full game and i don’t know how. i mean donk-donk and tambourine have also been modded in somewhat for remixes but anyways back to my point-
the rest of this’ll be under the cut tho-
so one of my main problems with megamix is some of the game choices. rhythm tengoku only had 25 unique, non-sequel rhythm games. out of those, nine were excluded. that’s almost half. for perspective, though, three of those games are bon odori, rap men, and toss boys, which basically need audio cues to be played. bon odori relies on it’s song, where you clap whenever they say “pan” and clap twice quickly when they say “panpa”, rap men relies on its audio and you do something different depending on three different kinds of cues, and for toss boys you need audio cues to know who it’s being tossed to. and logically, they’d likely want to translate the games, so given that they seemingly didn’t get that big of a budget for dubbing, they weren’t included... but quiz show was. what’s the problem with quiz show, you may ask? well rhythm heaven as a game is a rhythm game. quiz show literally doesn’t require rhythm. basically the host will press the button a certain number of times and in order to pass the game you just need to press it the same amount of times. that’s literally it. in megamix you get the game’s skill star if you press it to the same rhythm, but it’s still not required. it’s also dumb because you literally have to play it perfectly in order to pass it. all you need for a perfect is to press the button(s) the same amount of times. if you press a button the wrong number of times, the game ends once the number you were supposed to hit it is revealed. quiz show is literally pointless. the only times it’s used well are in remixes in tengoku. in remix 6, at least in silver, it uses the previously played game, the clappy trio, as a hint, with the host asking, “how many members are in the clappy trio?”, before hitting the buttons three times. in remix 4, the rhythm for both the quiz segments goes with the music. i mean on the last one he can add an extra press and it’s fucking bullshit but whatever. i’m not mad. but my point is that in megamix, they added a game that doesn’t require rhythm as opposed to a multitude of actually liked games from tengoku. there’s non-included games that don’t require audio cues, i should add. showtime, polyrhythm, tram and pauline, wizard’s waltz, and for fuck’s sake, thinking about it, the games that likely weren’t added because of audio cues wouldn’t HAVE to be dubbed. just do what the tengoku fan translation did and translate the on-screen subtitles but leave the audio in japanese. please just give us bon odori stop holding them hostage-
i talk about tengoku but i’m pretty sure rhds is the game with the most non-included minigames. ds was played sideways, almost purely using the touch screen with the exception of rockers 2 in the last set of games. it had a unique control scheme, with three types of controls: tapping, where you just tap the screen with the stylus or your finger; flicking, where you flick your stylus or finger like you’re making the end of a checkmark, according to “the secret of flicking” reading material thingie you can read when you unlock the cafe; and sliding, where you just. slide your finger. megamix only has tapping, and even then that’s only when you’re using simple tap mode and i don’t want to imagine how that handles games that use the b-button. as i mentioned, tengoku had almost half of its games missing. ds has twenty-five rhythm games if you include the credits game airboarder. ten of those weren’t included. that may not seem like a lot, but ds is most peoples’ favorite rhythm heaven game, and two of the most loved games in the fandom, dj school and love lab, are from rhds, and neither was included in megamix.
fever has the least cut games over all, with only five of its original rhythm games being cut. fever had twenty-nine original rhythm games, with one more (rhythm test) also appearing in its remix 10. the ones that didn’t make it in are tambourine, donk-donk, tap troupe, shrimp shuffle, and night walk. night walk’s exclusion was probably since gba night walk made it in and they didn’t know how to name them differently, bUT YOU DID IT WITH THE KARATE MAN GAMES??? DID WE REALLY NEED ALL OF THE KARATE MAN GAMES, A PREQUEL, AND A NEW GAME? THAT’S FIVE DIFFERENT KARATE MAN GAMES IN MEGAMIX. THAT’S TOO MANY TIMES TO PLAY THE SAME GAME. granted only three of those times are required to beat the game (prequel karate man, gba karate man/karate man returns!, and karate man senior), but my point still stands, they gave us literally every karate man game but not night walk or something. it’s especially dumb to me because they gave figure fighter both a prequel and its sequel because they looove figure fighter... instead of including shrimp shuffle, which really desperately needs to be included, please let me know what a frame-perfect input looks like so i don’t keep getting barelys that look fine because like all my inputs are barelys but they still break the perfect-
,,, onto another thing before i break something or kill someone.
so the dubbing for megamix is a little odd. as i said, the game likely didn’t have that big of a budget for dubbing, especially when compared to other games in the series. the prologues for games use the same three or four generic fonts despite the japanese version using the original fonts, the returning games that have lyrical songs just use the original version of the song with the exception of fan club 2, the two lyrical remixes weren’t dubbed (komeki no story, lush remix’s song, is simply instrumental with english audio, while in the japanese version it has lyrics. i’m a lady now, honeybee remix’s song, is in english regardless of audio), and lastly,,, the dubbing for the returning tengoku games where there’s vocals.
so in space dance, the whole game uses audio cues. there’s three of them in total: “turn right”, where you press the right d-pad button on “right”. note that when they say it it does not sound like they are saying turn right. at all. i’m not sure why, it’s not just the gba’s bad sound quality because well. bon odori exists. and also because it’s the same in megamix when you use the japanese audio. my immediate thought is accents but i don’t know if japanese accents are a thing. might just be because of the fact that japanese people tend to pronounce r’s as l’s? not sure though. “let’s sit down”, where you press the down d-pad button on “down”. it also doesn’t sound like they’re saying “let’s sit down”. and lastly, “pu-pu-pu-punch”, where you press the a-button on “punch”. in order to punch. because that’s a dance move. like seriously, space dance is fun but how is this a dance? um anyways, in the english version of megamix they changed it so it’s more clear what’s being said but the dubbing’s not the best. firstly, they changed “turn right” to “and pose” even though that is definitely not posing. it’s weird since. that’s the only one that was changed. i don’t know how to describe what they did to space dance and most of y’all probably don’t play rhythm heaven so you don’t understand, so here’s a perfect gameplay of space dance with japanese audio (it took time to find), and here’s one with english audio. ,,, okay so the english one’s of cosmic dance because i. forgot what exactly i was doing. and got distracted looking through the comments. so now i know that they still reused space gramps’ voice for cosmic girl in cosmic dance. which like. wut? you redubbed it but you. you still reused. you still reused space gramps’ voice for her? megamix dubbers are you okay? i’m kind of concerned.
the other game that has audio is purely japanese audio. marcher/marching orders. it’s a keep the beat game where you play as a squadmate following the sarge’s orders. the rhythm heaven wiki’s description for it is basically what i said but they’re better at describing things then me so.
“In this game, a rookie is undergoing marching training with her squadmates while following their Sarge's orders. The player controls the rookie at the end of the line. There are four commands that the Sarge will yell.
"Attention, March!"
"Attention, Halt!"
"Left-face, Turn!"
"Right-face, Turn!"
The player must perform these with proper timing along with the other squadmates. Just before the game ends, the squadmates will be moved offscreen, still marching as the game ends.”
in the japanese version, the commands he says are obviously different, though i. do not know what he is saying. so have my attempts at romanizing it.
“gento susume!” = “attention, march!”
“gento commoback!” = “attention, halt!”
“meski meek!” = one of them? i don’t really know which and it feels inconsistent, at least in marcher 2. i think it’s right-face turn but i’m not one hundred percent sure.
“meski peek!” = the other one. so i think left-face turn.
,,, yeah i don’t know japanese, sorry if this (as in literally any of this) is offensive to anyone that does. i’m just trying my best. the wiki doesn’t say what he says in the japanese version. unlike for other games.
now in the japanese version, the sarge has a somewhat deep voice. but in the english version... he doesn’t.
um here’s a perfect in tengoku and here’s one in megamix that i think has english audio since. it says it’s the english version in the description. but i’m not listening to it.
u h my last nitpick with megamix is the prequels. so prior to lush remix, almost all the games played are prequels, easier and shorter versions of the actual games. after lush remix is completed and the towers of lush woods are unlocked (i’m just taking this from the wiki, wtf is lush woods), all the games from then on are the original versions, with “2″ or something else stuck onto them for the games that had prequels. this makes it irritating to find certain games on the wiki because it’s just like “no i don’t want normal wii micro-row i want wii micro-row 2 rhythm heaven wiki please” or whatever. also the picks for games that have prequels are all over the place, and some of the prequels’ music doesn’t seem to fit and makes it feel like all the patterns in the prequels for games like rhythm tweezers and clappy trio are the exact same. is it the exact same? because if so then that’s cool (i suck at rhythm tweezers and clappy trio-) but also very boring. i get that they wanted to start people with something easy but some of the games that have prequels were already easy. karate man (gba) is literally the first game in tengoku but it still has a prequel. rhythm tweezers is the second game but it has a prequel. clappy trio’s the fifth and it has a prequel (granted it is kind of hard). fillbots is the third in ds and it has a prequel. air rally is relatively early on in fever. you get my point. and the weird thing is that in some cases at least, games that have prequels which remove stuff from the actual games don’t have practices for things in the actual version. for example, air rally’s prequel doesn’t have forthington (the cat) changing distances, except for the last one which he apparently always catches, but wii air rally obviously does. granted, the rhythm’s the exact same when he’s far away (for some reason? i don’t think that’s how it should work-),  but it should still have practice. oh and in air rally they just completely removed the clouds that semi-block the visuals later in the game. yeah i don’t know either. that seems to be the only instance of that occurance, though.
another prequel nitpick: so i love rhythm rally. like it is the best game in ds imho. it’s fun, it’s not that hard (it is kind of hard but i still have fun), though i do play on emulator, god knows how hard it is when you’re like me and don’t know how to consistently flick dear god send help- but u m in megamix rhythm rally has a prequel. which may not seem bad or anything until you learn something. megamix rhythm rally is the shortest game in the series. showtime from tengoku is seven seconds longer while munchy monk from ds is twelve seconds longer. rhythm rally’s prequel is thirty seconds long. thirty seconds. t h i r t y s e c o n d s . d,,, don’t paddlers literally have to play ping-pong to not get like. really sick? i don’t think thirty seconds is a long enough ping-pong game to avoid that- y’all’s planet is literally named ping-pong but you only play for thirty seconds. on top of a flower. okay wtf is with the scenery on this planet, it has a resident rhythm heaven void that we should be concerned about why are there so many voids, s p a c e i t s e l f , a giant flower, and a giant cake. two concerning things and two things that are weird but not concerning. seriously though why are there so many voids in the rhythm heaven world? someone should look into this, i’m concerned.
u h anyways that’s all. have a good day.

Kim Jae Wook - Actor Spotlight
June 5, 2019 by misvictrix [Soompi]
Tumblr media
Kim Jae-wook is in this week’s spotlight, but he hardly needs an introduction. His recent drama Her Private Life, where he starred opposite Park Min-young, is quickly becoming a cult favorite — and yep, both their performances were fantastic. As the drama has just wrapped up (nooo!), it seems like a good time to take a look at Kim Jae-wook’s acting career.
Born in 1983 in Seoul, South Korea, Kim Jae-wook’s career had an early start in 2002 with a small role in the MBC drama Ruler of Your Own World. He was young at the time, and apparently didn’t enjoy the acting experience. Instead, he focused on his modeling career for many years. When Kim Jae-wook finally returned to the small screen, it was with a supporting role in two now-classic dramas: Dal Ja’s Spring and Coffee Prince.
Although those dramas (especially the latter) should have been enough to guarantee his success, it hasn’t been till recently that he’s starting to get the recognition he deserves. After Her Private Life, he’s definitely at a great point in his career. Quick, make us more dramas!
Here are some dramaland moments from Kim Jae-wook, followed by his full filmography.
Tumblr media
Who Are You (2013)
I’m not quite sure how I got through all of this drama. I don’t like creepy tales, and I especially don’t like poorly written creepy tales. However, I have a soft spot for Taecyeon, and tvN, so it seemed like a good idea at the time. Little did I know that this drama would be my introduction to Kim Jae-wook (*choir of angels*). It’s not exactly easy to steal an entire drama when you don’t even have a single line of dialogue — but Kim Jae-wook sure pulled it off. In Who Are You Kim Jae-wook played the wrongfully-murdered beloved of So Yi-hyun’s heroine. She was haunted/visited by him (depending on how you look at it, I guess) and it’s just a testament to his acting that his character was able to have the impact he did. White as a sheet, more silent than any Jang Ki-yong role, and not even doing much but standing there, Kim Jae-wooks compelling screen presence held this drama together. Thank you.
Tumblr media
Temperature of Love (2017)
In the face-off of Yang Se-jong and Kim Jae-wook, who can ever win the heart of the heroine? Truthfully, this drama was about much more than its love triangle — in fact, the love triangle was one of the weakest elements. It’s also one of the rare dramas where my perennial second lead syndrome was shelved (it’s a good drama practice to shelve that painful emotion from time to time). In Temperature of Love, Kim Jae-wook was cold, rich, and completely taken with Seo Hyun-jin’s screenwriting heroine. Though I didn’t love how the triangle/tension played out in moments, I never doubted the authenticity of his character’s emotions. Kim Jae-wook was also a nice foil for Yang Se-jong, who seemed extra young and chipper next to the suave businessman with the power to make or break the people around him.
Tumblr media
Her Private Life (2019)
I loved the thought of Kim Jae-wook and Park Min-young starring together, but wasn’t really sure what to expect out of this drama… and boy have I been pleasantly surprised! I’m one of the first people to get drama fatigue over rom-coms with no personality — luckily, Her Private Life has not only personality, but pizzazz, super duper chemistry, and yeah, it’s also hilarious. Kim Jae-wook is great in this role, and it’s such a better character for him than the somewhat (conceptually) similar role he played in Temperature of Love. Here, he gets to have so much more fun, not only because he’s actually in the leading role, but because the script, thankfully, gives him more to do than just be a cold, smitten boss. Not that he doesn’t rock cold and smitten too.

Kim Jae-wook’s full filmography:
Ruler of Your Own World (2002) [Drama]
Kim Jae-wook made his acting debut with a side role in this Lee Na-young and Yang Dong-geun drama, but apparently had a bad time filming, and wasn’t sure about pursuing acting.
Dal Ja’s Spring (2007) [Drama]
Though many were blinded by Lee Min-ki when they watched this drama, Kim Jae-wook had an important (for his career, not really the drama) side role here as Lee Min-ki’s friend. Importantly, this drama was his return to the small screen after a 5-year break.
Coffee Prince (2007) [Drama]
I love long-haired Kim Jae-wook. That is all.
Antique (2008) [Film]
Comedy film based on a Japanese manga about a bakery that starred Joo Ji-hoon, Yoo Ah-in, Choi Ji-ho, and Kim Jae-wook, and got a good bit of acclaim.
Kingdom of the Wind (2008) [Drama]
Kim Jae-wook had a side role in this epic historical drama that told the story of several figures from the Three Kingdoms period.
Pygmalion’s Love (2010) [Drama]
Having grown up in Japan (he spent 7 years there), Kim Jae-wook has a great command of Japanese and it’s helped his career a lot. This short Japanese drama with Kim Joon and Minamisawa Nao is just one example.
Heart of Gold (2010) [Film]
Kim Jae-wook and Hong Kong actress Janice Man starred in this web-released movie about a Koream artist who travels to Japan.
Bad Guy (2010) [Drama]
No matter how bad the hero is, or how bad the plot is, this melodrama is one I want to watch. In addition to Kim Jae-wook, this drama starred Kim Nam-gil, Han Ga-in, Oh Yeon-soo, and Jung So-min.
Mary Stayed Out All Night (2010) [Drama]
This rom-com starred Moon Geun-young, Jang Geun-seok, and Kim Jae-wook and hit some hairy behind-the-scenes drama. In-drama drama was more about love, marriage, and forging marriage certificates.
Save Me (2010) [Film]
Short art film with Kim Jae-wook and Kim So-yi as a couple with a weird hobby.
Who Are You (2013) [Drama]
Getting ghosted by a ghost has never looked so good (see above).
Age of Feeling (2014) [Drama]
Unfortunately, Kim Jae-wook met with more behind-the-scene drama while shooting this ill-fated Kim Hyun-joong historical drama, and left mid-show after its writer swap.
4teen (2014) [Drama/Cameo]
Kim Jae-wook played the adult version of one of the leads in this two-episode drama special about a group of fourteen-year-olds.
Sweet Temptation (2015) [Web Drama]
I’m not sure how Kim Jae-wook wound up in this series of short dramas written for the members of T-ara, but he did.
Planck Constant (2015) [Film]
This art film starred Kim Jae-wook in the lead and chronicled his odd and/or erotic fetishes.
Two Rooms, Two Nights (2016) [Film]
Kim Jae-wook starred as a popular movie director who tried to keep two girlfriends going simultaneously. I’m not sure if we’re supposed to sympathize with him or not? Because I’m not.
The Last Princess (2016) [Film]
Sohn Ye-jin starred in this historical film as the last princess of Korea, and Kim Jae-wook was the Japanese nobleman who married her.
Voice (2017) [Drama]
The first of OCN’s Voice dramas made a big splash, and Kim Jae-wook got a lot of attention for his role in this Jang Hyuk and Lee Hana drama.
Temperature of Love (2017) [Drama]
It might not be perfect but I really enjoyed this drama — and the wonderful cast: Yang Se-jong, Hyun Seo-jin, Kim Jae-wook, and Jo Boa (see above).
Butterfly Sleep (2018) [Film]
Kim Jae-wook starred with Miho Nakayama in this Japanese film about a writer with Alzheimer’s who met a younger Korean man (Kim Jae-wook).
God’s Quiz: Reboot (2018) [Drama/Cameo]
Kim Jae-wook had a cameo in the final episode of the latest/fifth installment of this series about a medical examiner’s office.
Her Private Life (2019) [Drama]
Lion Ryan Gold. Yes, yes, all the YES (see above).
Tumblr media
BONUS: I read somewhere that Kim Jae-wook loves to clean and sometimes cleans for 4-5 hours at a time. I just needed to share that information.

Now who's Lorenjeu?
Before you read, I'm already telling you this. This is pretty long! Enjoy!
Cherica Lorenze “Lorenjeu” C. Padullo was born on September 18, 1999. She was baptized at San Lorenzo Ruiz Chapel, Barangay Magay, Tanauan Leyte ten days after she was born. She got the name ‘Cherica’ from the combination of her parents’ names which are Cheryl and Erico (‘Che’ plus ‘Ric’ and added ‘a’ equals Cherica) and ‘Lorenze’ from the name of the Saint Lorenzo Ruiz. Cherica, or commonly known for her nickname as ‘Chika’. She started schooling when she turned five, at Barangay Buntay Daycare Center. When she was in Kinder 1, she was loved and cherished by her classmates because she was such a jolly, talkative and talented child. She started singing and dancing even before she started her pre-school education. She also joined dancing and drawing competitions when she was in Kinder 2 at Barangay Licod Daycare Center and developed her talents as she went her journey in elementary education. At seven years old when she was in first grade in Tanauan I Central School, her teacher discovered her skill in speaking and in delivery because she was also one of the fast-learners and fast-readers in her class. With that, her teacher trained her to compete for a declamation contest. With her joining, she was also recommended by her teacher in first grade and let her join again in second grade. In all her six years of elementary education, she was part of the English Month celebration by joining declamations and verse choirs. She was not just good in English but also, she was a consistent part of the Balagtasan during Buwan Ng Wika celebration from grades three to six. When she was just ten years old, she was the emcee of their school’s recognition rights 2011. Cherica proved that even how small she looks and how poor they are in financial aspects, she was a consistent honor student from kinder until her she grasped elementary graduation with flying colors. In such a young age, Cherica was used to be exposed in front of a big crowd because of those presentations and competitions. It had molded her self-confidence and competence that she used and carried until she reached junior high school. As the pioneer of the k-12 education, she was introduced to a kind of curriculum that was very new to her. She had made great adjustments however she was able to successfully cope with the different environment and teachings in Tanauan National High School. During her junior high school years that started in the year 2012 and ended in 2016, she didn’t stop dancing and was always part of the cultural show during the annual fiesta celebration of her town. She had experienced dancing to a festival, to playground demonstrations, hip-hop, cheer dance, interpretative dances, modern dances and of course, to k-pop dances. The stage was a big part of her junior high school years. She was also a debater and a spelling quiz bee participant. She was also always in charge of leading and preparing for verse choir competitions, choreographing dances and creating songs. On the other hand, she never sung to a singing competition but she lets her classmates hear her sing inside their classroom. She had never had a confidence to singing in a contest individually because she thinks her voice isn’t appropriate for things like that. However, she joins jingle competitions and jazz chants because it comprises several people. In terms of relationships between others,
Cherica had a large number of friends and acquaintances even though lots of people identify her as a ‘scary’, ‘moody’ and ‘intimidating’ one. She was such a serious person and most of the time, her classmates fear her especially when she was already the one speaking with authority. Despite the deep, scary and authoritative voice she had, she maintained having best buds and supportive classmates. Besides, being part of the special science class that had an elimination didn’t hinder them from creating good memories, camaraderie, and common understandings. Back when the super typhoon Haiyan smashed the entire Tanauan, the aftermath caused a lot of headaches to the townsmen because of the casualties it brought and how devastated the town was, especially our house that was no longer rebuilt until now. A month passed after the super typhoon, the Republic of Korea Army, Navy, and Marine, which was called the Araw Contingent at that time, helped our town rebuild our schools, police station, and other government properties. Aside from that, Cherica being an ultimate k-pop fan, she was able to have a lot of Korean friends and most specially, she was given the privilege of studying Korean Language at their basecamp in Palo, Leyte at the age of fourteen and took the TOPIK (Test On Proficiency In Korean) in Leyte Normal University for the first time. She always had that guts of learning new things, especially language, aside from English. When she had her moving up ceremony during junior high school, she was also an honor student. At summer 2016, Cherica started having her summer job, and the municipality of her town also the DOLE RO8 office, was the offices who took charge of giving them salaries. After that, she continued her senior high school education at Asian Development Foundation College. On that institution, that was where she found great friends. She enrolled in an academic track which was Humanities and Social Sciences and she never expected that she would experience a lot of crazy and various things she never thought of before. Her friends whom she called also as ‘family’ taught her different realizations in life. There, she thought of herself as already a mature person because of the experiences and involvements she had with those kinds of friends and classmates. Aside from improving and sharing her skills and talents, she was able to express herself and let others know what she wanted them to know. Cherica was again an honor student when she graduated her senior high school at the year 2018. In addition, Cherica had summer jobs starting from the years 2016 to 2018. After graduating from senior high school, Cherica got into Leyte Normal University and enrolled Bachelor in Secondary Education then took English as her major. Her first semester was such a pain in the neck because of the full loads given to them. Anyway, she also had time to study and learn Korean Language and be part of the Intermediate Class at Tacloban Korean Methodist Church. Most importantly, Cherica also became an Army ROTC Cadet Officer and graduated last November 18, 2018 also having an award as the rank 2 among 80 cadet officer graduates. When the second semester started, Cherica was given the opportunity again of showing her talents in singing and acting as she was part of the casts in their musical play adaptation of Tim Burton’s ‘The Corpse Bride”. Many people, even during their rehearsals, were cheering and praising her. She made those as her inspiration in always doing her best and always stayed humble. Now March 2019, Cherica is still facing the wrath of the second semester in her first year as a college student. Cherica is studying Korean Language again and is now in the Advance Class. She is also pressured as she is part of the SUT (Small Unit Tactics) in preparation of the coming tactical inspection of Army ROTC Unit of Leyte Normal University. Fingers crossed, Cherica is aiming to pass on her first year as a college student and be free from regrets and dismay. By the way, “Lorenjeu” is how Koreans speak her name Lorenze!

I Left My Soul In Korea
When I leaving for Korea
It seemed i am going to Heaven
When I sat on my seat
The Thai Air hostess peeked on Ji Chang Wook image on my Tab Home Screen and smiled.
When I landed on Thailand Airport
I stepped foot on the land where i felt myself free from cage
When I was looking around the Thai Aiport
I was breathing freely with my consent.
When I landed on Hong Kong Airport
I had crush on lots of Male Staff
When I took another flight for Korea
I met adorable Korean guy ( i asked about some questions related to K-food)
When I went to Immigration Staff
Ahjussi shocked and showed my passport to his Colleague. ( As i was appearing on the KBS Competition “Quiz on Korea 2016″)
When i went out from the Incheon Airport
The person was holding the play card of “KBS Quiz on Korea 2016″
When he was taking to the Taxi Van (the most expensive taxi in Korea). The same van idols usually go in for schedules.
I fell in love with him at first sight.
When i sat on the Taxi with humble Ajhussi and handsome dream guy.
I was continuously talking to him about Korea. He gave me so much information related to quiz. I was happy i would meet him soon (i mistook him as KBS staff but he was the airport staff).
When he revealed he is airport staff
I was shocked and felt disappointed. My heart was broken into pieces.
When I reached to Somerset Palace
The Korean coordinators welcomed me.
When i reached to my hotel room around 11:00PM KST ( i had 12 hours of flight) from Pakistan to Korea
I was jumping on my bed and screaming “Finally i am in Korea”
When i didn’t wake up on time.
The Korean coordinator called us on phone for orientation.
When I started introducing myself in orientation
I was excited to meet new people but i was nervous too because i was accompanied with my younger brother. All other participants even younger than me came alone from the far without any hesitation. I felt outcast at the moment
When my brother called me handicap in front of others.
I felt offended and i wish i could slap him on his face. I was again outcast and my confidence scattered away.
When  i was silently sitting in the room
The participant from Nepal approached me and started talking about Pakistani Music.
When i went to Han River.
I ate chicken without any worries.
When my brother came late from the washroom.
I was waiting for someone to help me in walking down the steep roadside. My Korean coordinator held my hand and then i walked down the steep road side.
When everyone was going for Yacht.
I was waiting for someone to help me. Someone reminded about me to my brother. He then came back to help me.
Tumblr media
When i was playing Tuho- The traditional game of Korea.
Participant from the Morocco rushed towards me and hold my sticks.
When i was going towards Daechon Beach.
My Korean coordinator helped me in rolling up my jeans
When i was going into the water alone.
The same girl from Morocco held my hand immediately for the support.
Tumblr media
When the adorable participant from Laos was taking pictures of me
I turned myself into Model XD
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When I was meeting with myself and having fun.
Someone was making memories of mine from their cameras.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When adorable EXO fan (participant from Spain) came into my room on the night before the competition.
I had fear in my mind if I lost the competition, I had to face domestic violence again but I had to hide my scares in front of her. Actually I had fun with her. I wish I could laugh more but I had to goodbye her because I was in pain. I didn’t want to get hurt again and reveal my dark side. I wanted to keep her innocent and adorable image in my eyes.
Tumblr media
When I was nervous at the backstage
I had conversation with participant from the Uruguay. He gave me confidence to stand on the stage. I had deep conversation with him, the photographer didn’t waste his time to capture this memory. If that participant wasn’t there with me. I might ended up with another attack of Epilepsy when i realized KBS mgmt didn’t provide English translation on screen. He saved my life once again. They changed the pattern of quiz in fortnight.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When 1st Round of KBS Competition Quiz on Korea 2016 started
I became dumb because I didn’t know what she is saying.
Tumblr media
When I didn't qualify for the 3rd round
I cried alot in secret but i pretended that i am alright when Indonesian participant hugged me.
When a guy asked me for the help in taking picture with participant from Mongolia
The first time someone asked help from me during my trip.
When i met my Korean friends for the first time
I hugged them and cried.
Tumblr media
When I met Lee Hwi Jae, Monsta-X and kissed Song Joong Ki and Park Bogum
It seemed I was dreaming.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When my Korean coordinators got confused when i ordered beef burger from McDonald
I wish i could tell them truth about myself.
When someone asked me about why i didn't answer of any questions in Round 1 ( it was in Korean language) in a sarcastic way.
The Nepali participant stood by my side and answered on my behalf that she did not know Korean much. Afterwards he revealed he voted me for Friendship Award. I was overwhelmed from his gesture. I went back to my room afterwards and cried loudly.
When i was leaving Korea
I cried at Airport and throughout on the flight.
Tumblr media
When I went back to Pakistan
I felt I was caught and thrown into cage.
When my mom yelled at me
why I didn’t wear any scarf/stoll to cover my chest. When she got know that someone gift me alcohol as my friend mistook me non-Muslim. (it was slip of tongue when she saw empty alcohol plastic bottle). As it was the unique, it could be used for decoration, so i emptied and washed it. I wish i should have lied about the bottle to the mom.
When I was beaten and mentally tortured by my parents
because I didn’t wear scarf and received alcohol gift (which I had not taken even a sip of it). They physically and mentally abused me when I told them that I wanted to go Korea for studies.
When everyone refused to help me in getting scholarship for Korea.
I got another Epilepsy after 5 years. Then I ended up asking assistance from the strangers for the scholarship.
When my younger brother left house for not allowing him  to marry with the girl whom he wants by my parents.
I ended up in hospital and diagnosed that one of my nerve got narrowed which affected my whole body. I wish God should have given me silent death that time.
Tumblr media
When I got realized the no one is damn care about my feelings.
I ended up in isolation again and now I went back where I started from.
When I received call from Embassy that I didn't get scholarship.
I ended up in that phase where I cannot say if I am living or am just a dead body.
Conclusion:
I had a great time in Korea. I met myself over there. I was free. I ate whatever i want. No one was interfering in my personal space. I was living with my real identity. When they didn't let me in, God sent a girl to cheer me up. When I was nervous at the backstage, God sent the angel to motivate me to fight against the odds. When I didn't qualify for 3rd round, God sent someone to hug me and let me met with my Korean friends for the first time. When i was sad, God turns my dream into reality of meeting one of my favorite kpop group Monsta-X. I am proud of myself because I had reached there on my own. I didn’t go any institute to learn about Korea and its language. I studied about Korea by myself despite of strong criticism. I felt outcast because of my brother. I wanted to go Korea by myself but once again my family proved me that i am stupid insane handicap who will always be dependent on others.
Though Korea has many social problems. I don’t need any friends to be with me for 24/7. For me just one smile even from stranger is the enough food i need, to live my life freely forever. At least I can live with my real identity. I left my soul in Korea. I am living in fears. I should say I am waiting for my death.

via Politics – FiveThirtyEight
As the FiveThirtyEight staff recovers from a hectic year of news, we’ve been reflecting on our favorite stories from the past 12 months. What follows is not a comprehensive list of our best work, but it is some of what has lingered in our minds as we get ready for 2018.1
Our editor in chief, Nate Silver, started the year like many others: trying to make sense of the 2016 presidential election. He wrote a dozen essays about what happened, including entries on President Trump’s superior Electoral College strategy, the media’s probability problem and “the Comey letter.”
This summer, Kid Rock was rumored to be the next celebrity to follow Trump’s path into politics. But the poll that started the buzz came from a shady corner of the internet and may not have been conducted as advertised. Harry Enten went down a rabbit hole and found that fake polls are a real problem.
When Trump was a candidate, he often noted that the electoral system was rigged because so many noncitizens were registered to vote. But the evidence that Trump cited when making claims of voter fraud didn’t show what Trump said it did. Maggie Koerth-Baker investigated how an academic paper became a keystone of the Trump administration’s allegations of voter fraud.
After about half a year of the Trump presidency, Julia Azari came to a striking realization: Trump is a 19th-century president facing 21st-century problems.
The media’s coverage of the Trump administration has been filled with stories that employ anonymous sources to discuss what’s happening in the White House. Not all anonymous sources are created equally, though. Perry Bacon Jr. put together a guide for when to trust a story that uses anonymous sources and which anonymous sources are worth paying attention to.
As the Democrats seek to take back Congress in 2018, David Wasserman wrote about their uphill climb: The congressional map is historically biased toward the GOP.
Trump’s rise to power inspired a huge following in some corners of the internet. In March, we profiled one of the president’s most rabid fan clubs: a subreddit called “The_Donald.”
As the Supreme Court deliberates partisan gerrymandering, Galen Druke has been profiling the problems with redistricting reform efforts: Partisanship always finds a way back in.
Trump’s contentious back and forth with North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong Un, was a defining story of the summer. As the heads of state traded threats, Oliver Roeder wrote about how game theory can be used to win a nuclear standoff.
As stories about sexual assault and harassment inundated the fall, Clare Malone noted that nearly all of them were about people in white-collar industries. That prompted her to investigate whether the #MeToo moment will reach women in low-wage jobs.
Anna Maria Barry-Jester spent much of the year covering the Republicans’ efforts to roll back the Affordable Care Act. But she also looked beyond Obamacare. In April, she wrote about how patterns of death in the South still show the outlines of slavery, and in June, she wrote that the health care system is leaving the southern Black Belt behind. In conjunction with those stories, Ella Koeze created an interactive map that shows 35 years of American death data.
After the mass shooting in Las Vegas, there was some debate over whether stronger gun laws lead to less gun violence. But just looking at correlations between gun laws and violence isn’t enough, Jeff Asher and Mai Nguyen wrote, because guns can cross state lines even when gun laws don’t.
When the FBI released its first crime report under Trump, Clare Malone and Jeff Asher noticed something: It was missing a ton of data, and the agency’s explanations for why didn’t add up. FBI Director Christopher Wray now says the data will again be released to the public.
This hurricane season was relentless for the U.S., with several major storms causing major damage. If Hurricane Sandy is any indication, the recovery from that damage is not going to be quick. Julia Wolfe and Oliver Roeder used FiveThirtyEight’s longest chart ever to show that New York City is still getting calls about Sandy recovery.
After the U.S. men’s national soccer team broke our hearts with the worst loss in the history of U.S. men’s soccer, we went looking for another squad to support. It’s not like us to just pick things at random, so we designed a quiz that helps you find the World Cup team you should root for.
Despite never playing a snap in the 2017 NFL season, Colin Kaepernick dominated the conversation around football this year. As Kaepernick went unsigned in the offseason, Kyle Wagner and Neil Paine investigated whether it was Kaepernick’s skills that were to blame. It wasn’t.
As the 2016-17 NBA season came to a close, FiveThirtyEight’s NBA team made the case for five different MVPs, including the eventual winner, Russell Westbrook.
One of the runner-ups for MVP, James Harden, has bloomed over the past few years into one of the league’s best players. Chris Herring noted one of Harden’s many quirks: He’s great at drawing fouls behind the 3-point line.
Nate Silver is tired of baseball closers being used only as ninth-inning specialists. So, to help get more of a team’s best relievers in the game earlier, he created a new stat: the goose egg, which tracks which relievers are the best at putting out fires when the stakes are highest.
People are still trying to figure out why there are so many dang home runs in baseball now. Rob Arthur continued his investigation into the home-run surge, and the evidence points to the balls being juiced.
Speaking of those home runs, midway through this MLB season, there had been 56,785 home runs hit since the start of 2006. Neil Paine and Rachael Dottle charted how far those home runs would have traveled if you put them all together (4,280 miles) and which MLB player’s bombs traveled the furthest.
For years, the Bechdel Test has been used to evaluate whether a film is invested in its female characters. But the Bechdel Test is an imperfect measure of Hollywood’s inequalities. So Walt Hickey, Ella Koeze, Rachael Dottle and Gus Wezerek canvassed Hollywood in search of a new one and watched 2016’s 50 top-grossing movies to see how they stacked up.
Is your Dungeons & Dragons character rare? Gus Wezerek went spelunking to tell you whether you’re basic in your selection of a goliath paladin.
If you’re still searching for that perfect margarita recipe, Walt Hickey, Nate Silver, Christine Laskowski and Tony Chow have you covered.
If one of your 2018 resolutions is to get better at spelling bees, we have the perfect guide for you. (It’s harder than it looks.)
In February and March, FiveThirtyEight’s science team explored Mars. As part of that series, Christine Laskowski and Maggie Koerth-Baker noted why sex is one of space’s final frontiers.
When Maggie Koerth-Baker wasn’t writing about space sex, she was writing about panda sex. In November, she wrote about Pan Pan, the panda who was so good at sex that he helped save his species.
The Trump administration has reshaped the nation’s science agenda, and Republicans are often demanding that researchers provide “sound science” to substantiate their claims. Christie Aschwanden wrote about that term and why the easiest way to dismiss good science is to demand sound science.
Dan Engber went to rural Oregon to find the grandfather of alt-science. His name is Art Robinson, and his contrarian views about things like climate change have found their way into powerful circles in Washington.
