What animal form would your daemon take?

Since I was tagged twice for this by now I might as well finally do it XD Thank you for the tag @tivaphoenix and @tialinffxiv!

I’m a big His Dark Materials fan and I love to think about the concept of dæmons for my characters. Actually I made a post on bluesky about this a while ago. I might also post this here later because it also had my other OCs. For now I only did the quiz for A’vi and Rael but maybe I will add more later…

An unexpected but interested and also very fitting result. Such a big dog for my smol cat but I guess it matches his big heart.

Domestic dog

St. Bernard

Rael

A bird is so fitting for Rael even if it isn’t a raven. The descriptions match very well I think. That it’s such a cute/fluffy/tiny one seems funny but the character seems to be very on point!

Raptor

Your daemon would take the form of a raptor! Those who have raptor daemons are intellectual and precise, though unlike other bird daemons they also symbolize action and ambition. They are logical but confident, often preferring to work alone in relentless pursuit of their goals.

Merlin

Your daemon would take the form of a merlin! You are a direct and ambitious individual who selectively opens up to people. More so than others with raptor daemons, those with merlins are guarded people who likes to be proactive and stay busy. They are decisive and determined, and tend to have high standards for friends and teammates.

Thank you for the question, I like these kind of asks that force me to wonder about things I maybe haven’t yet 🤭

But since you did not specify which character, I decided to instead of listing the traveling basics for one of them now, I could just give you one seemingly unusual or special thing for each of them…

A’viloh: an Amalj’aa bone-necklace as a reminder that he is stronger than his nightmares

Rael: a raven feather as a keepsake of Frelsi, safely stored in their grimoire

Laqa: a talisman made from the tooth of the first drake he hunted on his own

A’tehmi: a worn map of Eorzea with lots of marking and notes she made while looking for her family

Nhagi’ra: the dried remains of a moon daisy flower given to him by his mother when he fled the Shroud

Iltani: a notebook she uses not only to write down what she finds interesting but, being mute, also to communicate with the people she meets

Styrgeim: a by now quite antiquated gun and a small bag with ammunition, one bullet for each of the traitors that killed her father

Elsie: her father's compass, the only thing that was salvageable from her burnt down house

Tomoe: two different vials of poison, hidden in a secret pocket. Both leave no trace but one will kill very quickly while the other does so very slowly and painfully

Tamaki: a blowpipe with arrows of varying effects, as well as a set of different explosives, including smoke bombs or ones to distract

Ty’at Rruk: Honestly, idk yet, so I am boringly saying a whetstone for her axe. Otherwise maybe some gift from Wuk Lamat if I stick with the plan of making them good friends

Phoebe: an imperial identification key ranked high enough to open most gates in the imperial facilities of the Gyr Abanian province

I got my new favourite coworker to take my Which Joker Out Member Are You quiz (which if you happened to miss it months ago...mayyybeee you'd have fun taking it now) and the level of excitement I reached tonight was ASTRONOMICAL. Full on bouncing off the walls, skipping around the store and twirling. Being filled to the brim with joy about your most favourite interest in front of someone who is so openly neurodivergent and just GETS it is so freeing. She would never judge me <3.

She got Nace by the way. We are the best dynamic duo at work ever and I have NEVER been so compatible with a coworker before (I get Jan on the quiz, but quiz maker bias ya know). Jan girlies pair exceptionally well with Nace girlies (gender neutral) and considering the stats of the quiz right now (Jan 75 and Nace 62, sweeping all other members) no wonder everyone here gets along so well.
