The First Command: READ 📖
“Read”—the very first command from the Almighty, a divine call to awaken the mind, seek knowledge, and embrace the journey of discovery. 🌟
This design is inspired by Surah Al-‘Alaq, the first chapter revealed in the Qur’an. It begins with the powerful word “Iqra” (Read), highlighting the transformative role of learning. The typography reflects the meaning of “Alaq”, an embryo or a clot, symbolizing creation, growth, and the origins of life—just as knowledge nurtures the soul and sparks enlightenment.
Surah Al-‘Alaq reminds us of profound truths. It speaks of how the Almighty created everything, including humanity from a humble clot of blood. It celebrates the teaching of knowledge through the pen, a gift that preserves and spreads wisdom. The Almighty is described as the Most Generous, bestowing these tools upon humanity. The surah also warns of the dangers of arrogance and self-sufficiency, urging us to remember that we will all ultimately return to Him.
This design captures the essence of this beautiful chapter—a journey from creation to learning, from generosity to reflection. Let it inspire you to cherish the divine command to “Read” and let knowledge guide your path.

🖼️ Joseph – A Story of Betrayal Original oil painting by Shorna Abedin
Beneath a storm-touched sky, a stone well sits in silence. Draped over its edge is a crimson and gold robe—once worn by an innocent boy, now abandoned by those who should have loved him most.
This painting reimagines the sacred story of Prophet Joseph (peace be upon him), betrayed by his brothers and cast into a well, as told in the Qur'an and Bible. Rather than depicting faces, the artist uses light, form, and color to express betrayal, pain, and the presence of divine wisdom behind human cruelty.
🎨 Artist’s Statement: "I painted this from the place of deep spiritual emotion. ‘Joseph – A Story of Betrayal’ is not just a scene—it's a wound and a promise. A wound of human betrayal, and a promise that every well has a hidden sky above it. This work respects Islamic tradition while speaking to every soul that has suffered, waited, and been raised by God’s unseen hand." — Shorna Abedin

I never wanted to sell my book. I created my book for my children. So they can have inspirational, Quranic verses available to them. Once I created it, I wanted everyone to have it! But I I definitely can’t sell the Words of The Almighty. And I’m not a rich girl so I can’t give it away for free. So I came up with a way we all could win. I’ll make it available for sale to everyone and give all the proceeds to charity. So grab your copy this Saturday, March 31st. ⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ #aminachronicles #guidinglight #quran #quranicinspiration #muslimahblogger #muslimauthor #upcomingbook #booklaunch #upcomingauthor #mywhy #secret #booksale #muslimshelpingmuslim #holybook #quranverses #verses

It’s better not to disclose all the blessings we have to people..
Some hearts are sick..some eyes are poisoned..
For the envious, all they want is the blessing to be taken away!
It’s best to fragrance these blessings by gratitude to God & keeping them a secret..
As that is what Prophet Yaqub (a) advised his son Prophet Yusuf (a)
قَالَ يَا بُنَيَّ لَا تَقْصُصْ رُؤْيَاكَ عَلَىٰ إِخْوَتِكَ فَيَكِيدُوا لَكَ كَيْدًا ۖ
‘He said, ‘My son, do not recount your dream to your brothers, lest they should devise schemes against you.’ Quran 12:5
