[ID: Comic with the character Belos from the cartoon show The Owl House, in his monster form. It takes place after the episode "Thanks to Them". Belos is back to the demon realm in his monster form. Belos is slowly melting into the ground in a horrific manner. In the background a goopy hand is reaching down as it shows all the goop disappearing in the ground as a green glow emanates from the earth.

 

A last drop of goop is seen on the ground before disappearing completely.

 

Next panel, a hand emerges straight from the ground.

 

A grimwalker, almost Hunter lookalike, is halfway out of the ground, looking at his hand. He show signs of possession by Belos, his eyes are icy blue and some green and brown patches appeared already. He finishes: "... A proper body to work with"

 

The background turned to black. On it is written: "Right, Caleb?".

 

The next panel shows the grimwalker, currently Belos, with horns sprouting from his head. He is taking up his (Caleb's) coat from a chair, continuing: "Thanks to them, we can finally-"

 

"Do this together" He ends in the next panel, tugging on his coat and smirking menacingly as his horns fully grew out of his head.]

[translation] "Pear Blossom" by Yoshiya Nobuko

Although the fiction of "Japan's first lesbian author" Yoshiya Nobuko was (and remains) hugely popular, of her entire body of work only one short story has ever been published in English translation, and no (other) fan translations appear to exist --- despite the enormous influence of her work on the predominant aesthetics and themes of shoujo manga. The beautiful flowery style and melodrama so famously attached to shoujo manga are thanks in large part to Yoshiya, and I'm very happy to be able to share one of her stories with you now!

"Pear Blossom" is a sparse and vivid short story from Yoshiya's early collection Hanamonogatari ("Flower tales"), a book noted for its use of beautiful imagery and its emphasis on the importance of romantic relationships between girls.

(nota bene, "Pear Blossom" is in the style of romantic, 'narcissistic' girlhood tragedy for which Yoshiya is most famous; approach accordingly. I've also included a page of notes on Yoshiya and her early lesbian fiction.)

I've been thinking about this ever since I saw the designs.. Literally just two kinda normal guys and the average sleep paralysis demon <3. No wonder Heart tried to shoot Mind/j (Read image description for a little funny)

ways I personally describe reader's features to accomodate for as many audiences as possible:

describing eyes as rich- could mean rich as in "chocolatey" rich (brown), or just having a very beautiful, vivid colour

describing "blushing" as one's cheeks warming instead of turning bright ass pink

when reader's hair is touched, saying that the character's fingers tangle in the strands or simply cup reader's head is more inclusive than saying that the fingers "brushed through the hair" (because with my curls no tf they will NOT)

generally describing bodies/flesh as "plush" or "soft". Even though I do write for curvy girls, ik that not everyone is a thicc baddie. In saying that, unless you're a crusty ass old man, everyone's skin is soft and luscious :)

I don't get too specific with height since it's a bit irrelevant and you can just emphasise the character's height instead. I typically assume that reader is shorter than the character's I write for, but in general I steer clear of describing them as "small and petite" because I'm 5'9 so... yeah.

I think that's all. I just thought I'd make a post of this nature 1. to reiterate that my writing is for all of the girls, and 2. to help any fellow writers that might struggle or unintentionally receive hate for these sorts of things.
