This took me a week. I did this for ORV like 4 years ago so it felt like my moral obligation to make one again.

Some notes on character designs and images without text:

Gorals and domestic goats look very different, but in Manor of the Blind attention is put into how these two are similar and contrasting, the truly noble Go Youngeun with the white goat and the sinister Baek Saheon with the black goat. I also picked a literal goral instead of a mountain goat (which are naturally white) because gorals look more like roe deers than goats, making the 3 of them more closely linked.

I always thought it was a shame most fanartists don't give Baek Saheon darling 90s curls because that's one of the only traits he explicitly has and is tied into how harmless he looks at first glance and it's adorable

Because this is a horror novel and unnatural features aren't mentioned, I tried to keep this as grounded as possible. Mowing through these anime designs. I don't think J3 is an idol with hair in his eyes. I think he just looks like a very tired guy of ambiguous age

Another hardliner of of grounded designs is Jin Nasol, who gets the most ostentatious anime character treatment besides Jay in fanart. She is coldly utilitarian and prizes efficiency over all else, there is no way that woman has bangs

I am not giving Park Minseong brown hair. There is nothing wrong with a good warm black

Lee Jaheon is often depicted as an adorable little newt in fanart, but a huge part of why he is so hysterical is that he is scary, so I picked more intimidating lizard traits so he functions in both dramatic heroic scenes and eating granola bars with the wrappers still on. He gets to keep the newt mask though

I gave Braun white gloves at first but I saw a Braun cosplayer and a demon possessed me. I have no idea what colour is canon. who doesnt love black leather

Making Jang Heo-un the "sharp eyes meek personality" trope made my brain light up so good. I was trying to contrast with the relaxed eyes of the easygoing Park Minseong to make them more obviously different but this feels cosmically correct

I tried to avoid the stereotypical fanart designs but the fanartists really captured how it feels for Lee Seonghae to be on the page with this design. Made her hair darker and that's it like we nailed it

Choi's design archetypes are 1. reliable senior 2. cheerful 3. unsettlingly intense, so I leaned on a more gritty korean procedural archetype with Choi. Kind of guy that makes your entire spinal column freeze when he turns on the heat

It is so hilarious that Lisa Frankenstein and poor things came out at the same time bc on one hand we have

- movie thats really focused on advertising itself as feminist

- uses the moms body as basically an incubator and completely robs her of her singular act of agency right after roe v wade got overturned

- proceeds to sexualize said mothers body while also sexualizing her child’s immaturity plus gratuitous sex scenes showing how she’s “exploited”

- absolutely refuses to show the “female version of Frankenstein” with any scars or body hair she would absolutely be imperfect and wounded like it’s giving let me go shave my hairless legs

- written and directed by a man

- kinda weird and neurodivergent/mentally ill coded and is mean to the characters about it

And that’s the one winnning all the laurels while the movie with

- a female writer and director

- 1 sex scene which is very consensual and shows literally nothing

- multiple female characters all of which display agency and have wildly different personalities

- the characters are allowed to have trauma and be fucked up but also the first person killed is a lady calling the main character insane (bad) and threatening to lock her up because she doesn’t like her

- accurately shows SA without being gratuitous

- male lead doesn’t have any lines except reading poetry to the girl at the end, other than that there’s like three guys who talk

- real pretty visuals

- hilarious

- the male lead lacks a voice and very specific anatomy but it’s still emphasized how he’s still very much a man

- kills the guys who commits SA

- her sister stealing her crush doesn’t ruin their relationship, she’s still emphatic to her

- SO MUCH set design detail and it looks SO PRETTY

Reading this breakdown of The Handmaid’s Tale’s fall from grace really hit me — not just because it’s true, but because it articulates something a lot of us longtime viewers have felt for years. The show didn’t just lose steam.

It lost vision.

What made Season 1 (and parts of 2–4) so powerful wasn’t just the aesthetic — the stark visuals, the haunting music, the brilliant performances — it was the emotional and political focus. It was about women's rage, bodily autonomy, power, and desire. About what it means to be reduced, to survive, and to reclaim yourself in the middle of a machine built to erase you. It was about resistance — not just externally, but internally.

Then the show outpaced the source material, and instead of evolving, it spiraled. It stopped being a visceral warning and started looping through trauma for trauma’s sake. It became emotionally incoherent, punishing the very woman it once centered — flattening June into a one-note mother figure while elevating characters like Serena into pseudo-victims.

It forgot its own thesis.

One of the most disappointing aspects of the final seasons — and Moss’s own commentary — is the insistence that June’s entire arc is about fighting for her children and the generations to come. As if her power, her survival, her choices, and her rage only have value when they're tied to motherhood. That’s not what Atwood wrote, and it’s not what made the character revolutionary. June wasn’t just a mother — she was a woman. A sexual, angry, complicated, resilient, autonomous woman. To frame her story solely around motherhood is not only reductive, it sends a damaging message in today’s climate — especially to women who don’t have children, or who define themselves by something other than parenting.

We’re living in a time when women’s bodies and choices are under attack. Now more than ever, we need stories that affirm a woman’s worth outside of the roles society assigns her — not ones that collapse her identity into being someone’s mother.

And that’s exactly why June and Nick mattered so much. This was never just about “shipping.” Their relationship sat at the very heart of the story’s most radical ideas — about choice, about love outside the law, about desire as rebellion. June didn’t go to Nick because she was his wife or his handmaid. She went to him because she chose to. Because he saw her when she had nothing left to give. Because she found safety in his arms when the world wanted to break her. That’s not fluff — that’s the point. It was a relationship built on autonomy, mutual trust, and a refusal to play by the rules of a violent, patriarchal system. And it’s just one reason why what they did to Nick’s character in the final seasons felt like such a betrayal. They erased one of the most powerful expressions of June’s personhood and turned him into a footnote in her own story.

The article’s mention of "shallow feminism" is spot on. When a Taylor Swift remix becomes the soundtrack to what’s supposed to be a revolutionary moment, we’ve officially left the radical feminist terrain Atwood mapped out and entered a kind of aesthetic protest cosplay. And yes, the real-world events — Trump’s reelection, Roe’s overturning — made the show's descent even harder to stomach. Because in the face of all that, this is what you’re going to say?

There are pieces of this show I’ll always love. Season 1 will always be gold. And thankfully, we still have Atwood’s original words, powerful performances, and fan works that remember what this story was really about.

But damn. What a fall.

Information about: Siberian tigers

Males can be up to 12.1 feet long and females can be up to 7.9 feet long. They are 220 - 368 pounds.

lifespan- 10-15 years [20-26 in captivity]

mating- The mating season usually begins in December and ends in January. Females are fertile for three to seven days, during which mating can occur up to 50 times per day to increase the chances of conception. Gestation lasts 93-111 days. Siberian tigers can have 2-6 cubs, sometimes more but it's rare that all will survive.

diet in the wild- red deer [preferred chose], sika deer, wild boar, elk, Siberian musk deer, long-tailed goral, antelopes, roe deer and on the rare accession bigger animals like moose and buffaloes. If available they will also eat rodents, rabbits and fish but they do not make up a large portion of their diet. Siberian tigers have also been known to attack and eat domesticated livestock like cattle and horses however, this is rare.
