Just saw a post that made me want to reread Harry Potter. I literally still think it’s good lol. You guys are just mad that awful, evil, bigoted people can write decent prose and try to distance yourself from it because any kind of morally complex thought feels icky and dangerous.

Abusers make art. Criminals make art. And that art is not necessarily and extension of their abuse, it might be, but maybe it’s just something else in the vastness of the human experience.

What’s the point of saying Harry Potter is good? Isn’t that supporting the Franchise that JK Rowling is still profiting from? Isn’t it just taking the wrong side in a loud online fight?

It’s what I think, that’s what.

To really seal the deal, Harry's smuggle job needs to be writer. He is basically writing biographies under a pseudonym and just name changes for all the characters. He's a best seller.

Harry who has only ever wanted to be ordinary and have a family would such a mundane escapist fantasy. Like his one desire in life would to essentially be in a Hallmark movie. He doesn’t want money, he doesn’t want fame, he just wants a quiet life where he doesn’t have to fight constantly, the assurance that his kids are safe, and a family that loves him.

Only three people know what his job is. Hermione finds it both hilarious and oddly fitting that he became a romance author in the middle of nowhere America. Ron wishes Harry didn’t publish under Roonil Wazlib. Charlie is just glad that writing a million happy endings drives some of those shadows from Harry’s eyes that seemed ever present when he first moved in.

Ron's cute too, they are at that point where they aren't exactly friends so he has to ask Harry if he can go too. A couple of months and he will be in his "if you try to hurt my Harry you'll have to hurt me first" era. An era that lasts a lifetime because this is a Ron Weasley Defense Squad account.
