I think my favorite part in OuaT is the breaking of the first curse and how entertainingly different the cursed personalities were from the enchanted forest personalities, and how they get flipped and awkwardly blended once it is broken.

Red: *Don't look at me, I'm a monster and I hurt everything I touch*

Ruby: *This girl's a hunter and I'm on the prowl*

Red/Ruby: *Oh God don't see me**compulsively flirting* / *I'm a horrible monster**Rawr ;)* / *I defer to Snow for making decisions**I will control every small thing I can because I don't have that option elsewhere*

Snow: *I am a respected leader, I have loyal followers and I am brave and powerful and unafraid of what must be done*

MM: *I teach children factors and try to avoid massive conflict with overbearing parents*

Snow/MM: * I am a respected leader** I would prefer not to yell* / *people have spent 30+ years talking over me and ignoring me**people expect me to have answers and a plan always* / * My biggest enemy is now my ally**I now have 30 years of memory's of my best friend/Fuck buddy in bed with my step-mother*

It's hard for everyone equally, of course.

Absolutely, anon! 

I looooove the new brand of problems that the first curse created for the people of Storybrooke. And it's specially fun to see the cursed!personality slip through the old patterns and habits of the original personality once in a while.

Like Ruby's sense of humor. Excuse me: """"" sense of humor""""".

That impulse to crack at joke to defuse tension came, most notably, from the cursed!persona, but stayed with Red, even as the personalities mixed into one. And Ruby has got the jokes, she has got the material and the observation skills and the comparisons and the puns, but Red does not have the same confidence in the delivery, so we end up with failed attempts at Funny like

And it’s not the only example of two different personality traits merging into a new, weird (sometimes contradicting) one.

 Red's acquired ~seriousness, developed through trauma and self-loathing~ blended with Ruby's more outgoing and flirtatious nature, resulting in someone who's often unaware of how charming they can be.

So you think of how this new Ruby — with her combined parts and different lives, upbringing and experiences (although fabricated by a curse...) — interacts with Snow, who is going through the same thing, and struggles with opposing habits and impulses, just the same.

During the curse, there was a moment, probably before Emma arrived, when MM was actually intimidated by Ruby’s... whole thing. And Ruby, not being of the same wavelength of MM, didn't care to seek her approval. They kept their distance from each other. But you can imagine, back then, if the two were to interact more, Ruby would have had the upper hand in their dynamic, because MM was too shy and passive to counter or match Ruby’s boldness. 

Which is the complete opposite of Red Snow, the original duo. 

(And the moment Emma stepped into town and the real personalities and relationships started bleeding through the fabric of the curse, you could see the development in their interactions, and the moment the shift in the balance happened, and MM — now with a touch of Snow — started having some more control, when it came to Ruby — now, a little bit more Red)

So when the curse is broken and they're combined fully, there's this new layer added, where the "power struggle" (like there even is one) is more complex. Not as black and white. Or red and white. And while Snow is more dominant when it comes to Red, Ruby has a different, stronger energy, that can push back a bit against MM’s accommodating one. 

So it’s the meek teacher contrasted with the party monster, and the kind submissive werewolf contrasted with the brave, commanding princess. 

Now you get to think of the instances, way after the curse is broken and the personas are all integrated... where these contradictions make a quick appearance, and, oops, the balance in Red Snow shifts again.

I've been mulling this over for awhile so there is no like big winner it's basically just a 'who sang it better'. I got so many bots and Tumblr is so inconsistent on audio uploads that doing a full fledged 'American Idol' run would take FOREVER. So this is what I came up with in replace of that.

They both learned how to dance when they were debutants, their waltz is elegant and flawless. When the gathering s less official however, Mikoto has better moves and more ease on the dancefloor, he teaches Gaya how to let go, dance more freely and have fun like nobody is watching when they're dancing together.

Who likes the outdoors more and who likes the indoors more?

Mikoto likes the outdoors more, Gaya enjoys the indoors.

Who’s a cat person and who’s a dog person?

They are both a dog person. Especially big dogs of noble breeds, large dogs who would scare anybody stepping a little too close.

Who’s more social?

They both are social due to their status and obligations. However Mikoto is naturally more at ease, he often joins Gaya's conversations during their social gatherings to make the exchanges more comfortable for her to navigate with his natural charms and sense of humor. "God they were sooo boring. Offing myself from the room sounded better than lasting 5 more minutes in this." Gaya would complain once they're finally alone together. "Trust me I know, that's why I came to the rescue." He would tell her, and she would smile.

Who makes the bed every morning?

None. They have the help and the housekeepers to take care of that kind of things.

Who likes to keep the house cold and who likes to keep the house warm?

None of them is that sensitive to the cold. However when sick, Gaya denies at all cost that she Is sick and keeps on complaining : "Ugh, I'm so cold. Why is this house so damn cold." She woulf say again annd again. "Well that's because you're sick. You're more sensitive to the cold." He says. "Me? Please. I can't get sick, go and ask my doctor." She says. "I'm your doctor. Come on, let's get you warm." He would say.

Who takes longer getting ready?

They get ready together. Gaya's team always insist on assigning her a stylist to help with the choice of her outfits for public appearances : she refuses. However she always asks for Mikoto advice as they're home getting ready, "Which dress do you like on me more? The Yves Saint Laurent or the Valentino?"

Who likes scary movies and who likes funny ones?

Mikoto enjoys the funny movies a little more as they lead to a nice cozy evening - While Gaya likes the scary ones. In fact, the scary ones are hilarious to her, she looks down on the characters being This stupid for dying this fast and comments in detail to Mikoto on how she would have procedeed if she was the killer. Like any sociopath girlfriend would do.

Who screams when they see a bug and who ends up killing it?

None of them scream. Gaya kills her own bugs.

Who is more technology challenged?

None. They are both at ease with technology, they grew up with it and rely on it enough.

Who would be more likely to burn something in the oven?

Gaya is more likely to burn it all down by accident. Mikoto knows how to cook and he cooks pretty well. Gaya likes it a lot when he's cooking, she tries to help but she's a catastrophe in the kitchen. "You know what... just, chop the onions and I will take care of everything else." He tells her.

Who talks in their sleep?

Mikoto talks in his sleep and Gaya listens closely in case he says something she can tease him about but it often is gibberish.

Who leaves the cap off the toothpaste?

None of them. Both are clean and organized.

Who likes getting dressed up more?

Mikoto is dashing, elegant, he likes getting dressed up and put care in his looks and outfits, like any handsome modern man would. Gaya too, but she mostly likes it because they get dressed up together and chat when doing so.

Who’s better at tying ties?

Mikoto knows how to tie his own ties but Gaya insists on doing it for him. Therefore when they are getting ready, he naturally lets her taking care of it.

Who recorded the answering machine message on the house phone?

Gaya took care of it. Mikoto listened to it and it made him laugh on how Cold she sounded so he re-recorded a better version. She's upset when she finds out he did that but he can't stop laughing on how awful hers was. She ends up admitting he's right. "Alright, Fine, I suck at this kind of things... I said fiiiine, stop laughing.. "

Who’s better at planning romantic things?

Mikoto is better at planning romantic things. Gaya is always beyond happy when he does.

Who takes up more space in the closet?

Gaya receives countless of lady suits and dresses from haute couture brands so the closets of her dressing rooms are full. Especially with Yves Saint Laurent that has been officially chosen to dress up the heiress for most of her public appearances.

Who has more of a sweet tooth?

Gaya has a sweet tooth but she tries to control herself and not eat too much of that. She can hardly control herself when they drank a little too much though - she craves cake.

Who drinks more often?

They both drink often as they often celebrate or often have business dinners.

Who is most likely to laugh during a serious situation?

Mikoto is more likely to laugh. Which causes Gaya to laugh as well. They then cannot stop laughing and try to behave themselves as they have a Repuation to Hold, but if one starts laughing again, the other cannot help but to mirror.

Except well, in this case they are lovers, but haven't noticed yet. Meanwhile Grumpy gets the message to Snow. "Sorry, sister, she has your lover." "My what????? Also have you seen Red?"

They're so oblivious!! The whole land knows, True Love magic knows, The Dark One knows, Regina knows, even David, the Arranged Marriage Prince knows. The Evil Queen is strategizing around it, she's taking it into account as she's getting ready to cast her Curse and Red and Snow are still pretty much like "We are roommates!"

Makes me think that Snow is getting confused, mistaken her deep platonic feelings for her bro David for what "normal heterosexual attraction" is supposed to feel like. Sure, kissing him isn't the worst thing in the world, it's nice! He's gentle and attentive and he cares about her pleasure -- but it's still not the same as kissing Red. It just doesn't have that.... energy. That electricity. Oh well. That must be what it feels like to kiss a human man, right? Snow is probably out of practice there. She'll figure it out!

In the meantime, Red helps her finish off, when she's left pent up after an unsuccessful night at playing straight. It's what friends do!

Delhi HC dismisses plea challenging decision over Rs 2,000 banknote exchange

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has defended before the high court its notification, saying it is not demonetisation but a statutory exercise.

NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Monday dismissed a plea challenging notifications enabling the exchange of Rs 2,000 currency notes without any requisition slip and ID proof.

A bench of Chief Justice Satish Kumar Sharma and Justice Subramonium Prasad rejected the petition, which has challenged the notifications by the RBI and SBI enabling the exchange of Rs 2,000 banknotes without requisition slip and identity proof.

A detailed order is awaited.

Petitioner and advocate Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay submitted that a large amount of currency has reached either an individual’s locker or has “been hoarded by separatists, terrorists, Maoists, drug smugglers, mining mafias and corrupt people”.

The plea submitted that the notifications were arbitrary, irrational and offend Article 14 of the Constitution.
