Un village anglais bien sous tous rapports? Méfiez-vous des apparences… Abby, 1 ans, est percutée en pleine nuit par une voiture et laissée pour morte. Le lieu : une petite route qui mène au village de Little Melham. Que faisait la jeune fille seule à cet endroit? Ellie et son mari étaient sur cette route au moment du drame. Mais pas ensemble… Comme d’autres habitants du village cette nuit-là, ils ont de sombres secrets à cacher. Léo, la sœur d’Ellie, a bien envie d’en savoir plus. De même que Tom Douglas, policier en congé qui vient d’emménager. Mais à Little Melham, la vengeance, la folie et la mort rôdent…

Mon avis :

C’est le deuxième roman que je lis de cette autrice. Toujours aussi captivant. L’écriture se lit facilement, très bien expliquer. On ressent les émotions des gens. Plus la lecture avance, plus l’intensité est présente. Le tout débute avec la préparation d’un souper et du souper en tant que tel qui prend environ le tier du roman. Il y a beaucoup de personnages dans ce livre, donc on peut mieux comprendre la psychologie de chacun. On suit surtout les péripéties des deux sœurs, entrecouper des autres personnages pour avancer les actions du roman. Ce ne sera pas le dernier roman de cette autrice que je vais lire!

4. WHERE IS RHETT

5. A Rhett scene with character development that isn’t regarding his relationship with Maria please? Just one? Please?

6. Perry, you are growing on me unfortunately

The 1:200 ratio of what I actually write vs what I brainstorm is insanely infuriating.

Like, I have so many story ideas for so many different characters for so many different fandoms, and it is so infuriating when my add/overstimulated brain crosses over from one to the other.
