Bueno, no sé si podría darte un consejo, pero te puedo mostrar más o menos cómo hago mis dibujos (O algo así)

En este caso usaré un dibujo de práctica de Blumy que hice para este momento, así que te lo dedico ^^* (Y por si tienes interés, el programa que uso cuando dibujo en la laptop es "firealpaca")

La estructura que usé es más o menos así, no sé si se entiende(?

Lo hago bastante raro, ya que también estoy aprendiendo a cambiar la estructura de mis dibujos para que se vean un poco más fluidos TT"

Dejé el boceto, aunque se ve algo sucio, pero así me quedó el boceto de este dibujo, acomodé la cabeza lo mejor que pude, ya que eso hago primero, y el boceto en general lo acomodé en el lienzo

Hago el lineart negro puro, normalmente en esta parte corrijo algunos errores o arreglo la posición de algunas cosas; y no sé si se note, pero cambio de estilo varias veces, el último cambio fue la nariz, lo hago con el motivo de que se me deje de dificultar algunas cosas cada vez que dibujo uwù*

El coloreado no le pude tomar capturas, porque todo lo hice en una sola capa, pero en general uso colores un poco más oscuros para pintar sobre los colores base que coloco (Y a veces colores más claros dependiendo mucho del dibujo, como en los ojos o en los aretes), y los mezclo con el pincel que uso para pintar, pero bajando la opacidad de este

También suelo pintar el lineart, pero sólo dentro del dibujo, las partes del lineart que salen del dibujo en sí los dejo en color negro

Estos ya son detalles que me gustan agregar, como el brillo en los ojos, y algunos puntos de colores (Aunque esto último recientemente lo coloqué en el dibujo para experimentar un poco)

No sé hacer fondos, así que literalmente coloco lo que sea, o hasta a veces sólo un color base, me falta demasiado mejorar eso xd

I know it can be super frustrating when we don't receive the feedback that we want. I think every creator is guilty of feeling that way, because we WANT to have others share in our joy of the things we make, and when they don't, it just feels kinda....silly? I guess?

We live in the "tiktok" era, as I would dub it, where everything is so fast-paced and fandoms live one second and die another, content needs to be NOW or never, but honestly, we as fanfic writers are not 'CONTENT CREATORS'. We are fan artists, in some fashion. Whether you write, draw, sing, etc, for the joy of contributing to the fandom, and I think "fandom" has lost its way entirely these days.

Fandom is a community - and we need to support one another for the things we make, to enjoy the things we love. If we stop commenting, sharing, etc, then the fandom ultimately dies. Yes, it's discouraging to not receive feedback on something you've worked hard on, and I think we all need to work on getting back to the true values of fandom.

And with this AI stupidity? What's so fascinating about feeding words to a computer? You're losing out on the heart and soul of a story or creation. Computers don't have feelings, but we fanworks creators do, and there is a distinct difference between AI generated works and those done by real people.

My advice: keep writing. While we may not get the feedback we desire, your story will become someone's favorite. You will become the author someone gravitates towards and can't wait to see what you post next. I know it gets discouraging, I feel that way more than I like to admit, but then I get (1) comment, or one nice tag about how amazing xyz was, and I think in the end, so long as we can SEE that our joy is spreading, isn't that what it's all about? (Let's completely ignore the "write for yourself first" rule because sometimes that just gets too repetitive).

Keep creating, my friend, it's never worthless, or pointless, and people DO care, I promise. Some people just have a more quiet way of showing it.

That being said: please support your fellow creators. Share their works if you like it, drop even a little emoji comment on it to show your support. Every little bit counts, and engagement with creators is at, what I feel, an all-time low. This needs to be fixed, or creations done by real people are going to go away.

WIP Wednesday (7/10) | Mer Roadtrip AU (Part 39)

“Oh.” Nathaniel blinks, chews the inside of his cheek. He refuses to give Andrew 'Nathaniel'. But he's got no other name prepared either. Finally he lets out a breath. “You can call me Abram for now.”

“Abram,” Andrew repeats, making the hair on the back of Abram’s neck stand on end. “So he has a name after all.”

“That’s my middle name. I only use it when I have to,” Abram says, standing up. He dusts the majority of the sand off his ass and legs, then turns to the mer still lounging in the surf like a lazy guppy. “Are you coming?”

“Still naked,” Andrew says, gesturing to his bottom half.

“Oh, right.” Abram says, staring down at him. The mer rolls his eyes. 

“So get out so I can change and get my towel on,” Andrew says, shooing him away with his hand.

Abram gets the very unsubtle hint and goes to peer out of the cave for a moment before stepping out into the sand. There’s no one familiar around, thankfully. So he lets out a breath and leans against the cave’s outer wall. There’s a ruffling sound from inside, Andrew shaking out his beach towel, Abram supposes.

Weird question for any who wish to answer but can the cardinal, papas , ghouls etc feel or see different types of magic like maybe an imp cloaking itself in the shadows and using its magic to deliver sweet goodies down to the ghouls?

That depends on the element of the ghoul, and the skills of the cardinal or papa in question.

Quintessence and multi ghouls have a higher perception and awareness of things than anyone in the ministry. They’re more likely to notice disturbances in magic than the rest.

Fire ghouls are pure hunters, and might scent an imp, but are more likely to ignore them.

Air ghouls could also scent an imp, but might chase them out of playful mischief.

Water ghouls are least likely to notice, as their senses are dulled out of water.

Earth ghouls would notice scent, and odd vibrations of footsteps, but like the threefold law, if it harm none, let it be.

The cardinals skills vary, based on what sort of magic they chose to specialize in.

While Cardinal Shoia is good with artifacts and mystical abilities, Cardinal Copia is certainly more infernal magic, charms, and rituals. As papa, he picks up mystical gifts, taught by Shoia, and grows into his infernal abilities as the anticrist.

Terzo went from rituals, herbalism, charms and artifacts as cardinal to more focus on charms, herbalism and clerical rituals as papa. Now, as a demon, he can add infernalist magic to his list.

Despite this, the cardinals (and Copia in his papal timeline) are still human. They’re less likely to notice any intruders.

Terzo is in hell with Alastor, and still learning how to demon. That being said, as he learns, Terzo is reliant on Alastor for protection and education since he’s too new to know what to look out for yet.

That said, it’s more likely for Omega, Aether, phantom, Swiss, or shoia’s multi- ghoul, Hart, to notice a sneaky imp.

But if said imp isn’t causing harm, they’ll let it pass without issue, but will keep a watchful eye.

5. What’s a fic idea you’ve had that you will never write?

Oh, this is tough, because I believe in never saying never... Although, I did have an idea for a Loki fic that would take place after the Thanos snap, but in the end I scrapped it as being too dark and not something I really wanted to write after all. So, that? 🤣

13. How much planning do you do before writing?

Almost none, I pants my stories so I rarely know more than the hero and heroine's names and the main conflict. Everything else happens as it happens and more often than not, I'm left going, "I didn't see THAT coming!"

18. What’s one of your favorite lines you’ve written in a fic?

Oh, no... this is like picking a favorite fic or favorite child! :) But, one that I've gotten a lot of comments on came from Brilliant Disguise, -

“I hope so. But,” Thorin shrugged, “I suppose we’ll find out soon enough, won’t we? But, do me a favor?” “What’s that?” “Stay quiet and let me do the talking.” “Right, because yer far more diplomatic than me.” Dwalin rolled his eyes.  “Point taken, but still.” “Of course, Thorin. I’ll just stand here and look menacing.” “Perfect.”

👀 I don’t know how angsty it would be (probably mild at the very least), but I DEFINITELY would! I even have something like this on my ideas list! I have a plot bunny from a few years ago where I wanted to do this, with correspondence between Bilbo and the mountain slowly diminishing and him believing Thorin has forgotten about him, etc…

…so maybe I should dig it back out again?

Character Analysis: Lilia Calderu

Lilia is the eldest witch in the coven by over a hundred years (except possibly Rio). She knows a lot about Agatha's history, so she was probably there, but her vision shows us a medieval history. Others say that she's royalty. If not, she was very wealthy. And she's Sicilian, so she grew up wealthy since Sicily was pretty prosperous.

She has endured so much. She is a Divination witch, so she can see bits of the future. I feel like she has trouble sometimes discerning the future from the present, so she often tries to stop things while still having her visions, calling out disjointed phrases that don't all make it to the real world (I pray this comes into plot in the future to show that Alice is not, in fact, dead and that it was just a vision) and scaring others.

She is a Cassandra-type character, so nobody really listens to what she has to say before it's too late. When it is too late, she is played.

Anyway, girl has more trauma in her pinky finger than most covens have combined. She's been chased from city to city all over Europe and South America before finally making a home in the continental US.

As previously stated, she was likely there when Agatha was attacked by her coven. She probably knew what they were planning, probably tried to warn Evanora about what would happen, but the old bitch would just not listen. Maybe she even wanted to warn Agatha, but she was too late.

Besides, nobody ever listens to the ramblings of a madwoman.

So she watched this all go down. She heard the whispers in the witch's circles, listened to her coven talk about what went down and how horrible and evil Agatha Harkness must be to kill her own coven.

She may even had defended Agatha a little: "Well at least she spared the children," she might have said, upon learning that--against tradition--Agatha didn't finish off the witches' bloodlines.

"But they'll now grow up without mothers to teach them how to properly harness their magic!" would have been a retort. "What are they to do now?!"

Lilia has no answer to that.

So she leaves her coven, seen as a witch-killer sympathizer, and remains covenless until the present time. She tries to join covens, but the way her powers manifest is...odd. It puts others off, they ignore her warnings, and then they blame her for what happens when they ignore her warnings. She starts trying to suppress her magic, watches the witch hunts all over, her faith in humanity dwindling as well as her bank account.

Soon enough, she's broke and trying to cash in on several side hustles, becoming a charlatan. She hates it.

She, like Agatha, took pride in her studies. She knows all the history and the languages and everything there is to know about witchcraft and how witches have been unfairly persecuted from day one. She lights candles for all the friends she's lost, asking the Divine Mother to look after their souls, to protect them against any who might sully their names.

She still gets visions, but she ignores them as best as she can. She's just surviving at this point, not living.

Then Agatha walks in, putting on an Razzie-worthy performance and Lilia can see right through it, but she takes the kid's money anyway. Rent was due weeks ago and she's already being evicted, but any bit of change can help.

How far she's fallen, she thinks.

She has always had empathy for the younger witches, always tried to be a mentor to them, remarking how lucky it is that they live in a time where they can be mostly free from persecution now. Where they can also love who they want to love and be who they want to be. Where they have the support of their friends and many public figures.

I have no idea about Lilia's sexuality, but I want to believe she's loved women in her past. She strikes me as a spinster type who may have entered into her fair share of "Boston Marriages". But nobody stuck around for long, unwilling to put up with her kooky visions.

I want to believe that she had a great love at one point, maybe a mortal woman. Maybe when she was a teenager, still practicing magic. That they were pretty much soul mates, intent on running away from their wealthy and influential families.

But it didn't work out. And Lilia thinks about her when she sees the yearning between Rio and Agatha. It's obvious the way they feel for each other and she wants to shout at them to just kiss and make up already, before it's too late.

But she stays quiet, because nobody listens to the madwoman.

Star Wars Tales of the Underworld Trailer Thoughts

This literally came out of nowhere. I love how Star Wars Tales seems to now be a yearly May the Fourth tradition.

The footage seems like they’re from the first two episodes. If that’s the case, I wonder what the final episode of both stories hold.

I love exploring Bane's past and the path that led him to becoming the infamous bounty hunter. I find it interesting how his old friend is a Marshal, and it seems at one point, his old friend arrested him. The story of their broken friendship will definitely be a tragedy to see.

I wonder if we'll see CIS remnants based on the family who seem to be aligned with them, especially with those CIS medals.

That CW animation style Stormtrooper looks so good.

I hope we get an answer for how Asajj came back to life. I hope we get a good dynamic between Asajj and her new Padawan. I also hope the new Inquisitor lasts longer than the Raven Inquisitor of the Tales of the Jedi and gives a lasting impression.

I like how the poster has the Credit symbol instead of the Jedi and Imperial symbols to represent the Underworld focus of this Tales story. I wonder what role Latts Razzi will have in the Ventress shorts.

Either way, I can't wait to see how the stories of Cade Bane and Asajj Ventress will go!
