Ok but like. LEO BRO. He’s just/
Ok the amount of spoilers I’m boutta drop for PJO/HOO
I’ve read them like. 3 times now if you haven’t move on go read them you won’t regret it until you spend all ur money on his books-
But like Leo. Dude uses humor & running away as a coping mechanism. Is a fucking SEVENTH WHEEL- like
How
I can’t even imagine
Is now on a boat
But like also
HAD A DRAGOn
HIS BEST FRIEND
For like
NO LENGTHY AMOUNT OF TIME
This POOR MAN
Lost his DRAFON
then built him into a BOAT
He DESIGBED AS A SMALL CHILD
Like BROS A FUCKING GENUOUS
& no one knows
Cause he doesn’t talk to people, he’s so quiet but loud
Like doesn’t voice his concerns or ideas or plans, just teases & lightens the mood & try’s not to take anything seriously
But he finally finds his person
And it’s fucking Calypso
This poor man
Like what the fuck
I know they’re demigods
And their lives are basically “haha get fucked” from the start
But this man went on this quest, was immediately told “lol ur never gonna fit in ur a 7th wheel”
GOT FUCKING POSSESSED & BASICALLY STARTED A FUCKING WAR AND WAS BLAMED FOR IT (like it makes sense but WHY HIM)
And the amt of self-image issues this poor child must have
EVERYONE
POKES
AT
HIS
SIZE
like. Calm tf down
And plus the shit with hazel
AND THE TRAUMA-
HE BLAMES HIMSELF FOR HIS MOTHERS D E A T H
WHICH WAS I N T E N T I ON A L
Iike.
A d if I remember correctly mf dies
Right?
Isn’t he like. The only one of the seven + Nico & Reyna that dies?
Stop targeting hi
And he had the most severe adhd
I RELATE TO HIM TOO MUCH
PAIN
PAIN FOR THIS BOY
ok rant over
I’ll prob continue it later tho tbh

literally gregor the overlander//the underhand chronicles is so good it has depth and themes I still think about on a regular basis. There's a scene in the third book where someone is explaining to Gregor that this lizard creature has all kinds of defense mechanisms that help it avoid fights and it would only fight another creature as a last resort, and like the contrast with humans going in guns blazing always ready to start fights, it's a hugeeeeee theme in the whole 5 book series but that one conversation is an example of something I think about all the timeeeeeee

well since Twitter is dead guess I'll just start archiving my fav books over here and take advantage of the better tagging system hehe
belladonna was my first introduction to gothic lit and I must say I think the genre will be a favorite of mine moving forward! The book was both haunting, and beautiful. It kept my eyes glued to each page which made it incredibly difficult to put down. I rated it an easy 5/5 stars.
house of salt and sorrows was an enchanting read, and while I didn't particularly like the direction the book went into in the later half, I really enjoyed the pretty writing and overall atmosphere of the story! plus who wouldn't love a 12 dancing princesses retelling 😭 I rated it 4/5 stars

I firmly believe that some stories can never be translated into a different medium and that's okay

the fact that i'm no longer the same age as the protagonists of novels and films i once connected to is so heartbreaking. there was a time when I looked forward to turning their age. i did. and i also outgrew them. i continue to age, but they don't; never will. the immortality of fiction is beautiful, but cruel.

You gotta read and watch some old books and films that aren’t 100% modern politically correct. I’m not saying you should agree with everything in them but you need to learn where genres came from to understand what those genres are doing today and where media deconstructing old tropes is coming from.
Also, more often than you might think, they’re not actually promoting bigotry so much as “didn’t consider all the implications of something” or just used words that were polite then but considered offensive now.
Kill the censor in your head.

i think theres this idea in the general public that the "best" fanfic gets turned into real books like 50 shades of grey. but the truth is that the best fanfic can never be published as an actual book because its intricately woven into the canon material so its inseparable even if you change the names

I’m so sorry but in the nicest way possible do yall actually read books or just read words??? Cause I’ve been seeing that trend of people not understanding how “snarled” and “eyes darkened” and “eyes softened” etc. was used in a book and like…
Genuinely, do yall just not have imagination?? Or not understand figurative language??? Also eyes do literally darken and soften have you not lived a life??? How do you read with no imagination? Is this how you get through so many books in one month - you simply don’t take the time the understand the words as they are read?

bingewatching will never come close to bingereading. there is nothing like blocking out the entire Earth for ten hours to read a book in one sitting no food no water no shower no bra and emerging at the end with no idea what time it is or where you are, a dried-up prune that's sensitive to light and loud noises because you've been in your room in the dark reading by the glow of a single LED. it's like coming back after a three-month vacation in another dimension and now you have to go downstairs and make dinner. absolutely transcendental
