I just released a new version of ddeep-core, and if you don't know it, it's an open-source real-time back-end environment to run a decentralized peer-relay or what we call a core to sync and save decentralized graph data between peers (devices) in real-time.
This release is built with Bun, and we are on track to ~2M read operations/sec (from storage).

One of the weirder parts of being formally tested for autism as an adult—apart from the hellscape of hours of math hell—was that they kept asking me for my conclusions or opinions about things I had very little knowledge of. These weren't basic facts you'd expect someone to pick up in the course of a standard US education, and I kept repeating that I would have to do actual research to form opinions on subjects I had no significant information about.
Obviously, "not opinionated" isn't a major problem for me when I do have a reasonable amount of information, but my eventual diagnosis specifically mentioned that I kept repeating that I would have to do more research to acquire the necessary baseline of data for forming opinions on [whatever], and that the phrasing of my various refusals tended to be identical or very similar (I didn't see any need to alter my wording when I was simply repeating the same position over and over).

Anyway this is also about Star Trek. (Surprise.) I knew Spock would be relatable before we started the grand TOS watch, but did not expect him to be the most relatable character on television ever, and his continual refusals to deliver opinions without enough data for informed theories was actually a big part of this.

the company i work for decided that its switching from the german formal "You"(Sie) to the informal "you" (Du) in all of our websites so now we have to scour the entire database to change it and i quite frankly hate that, not just bc the unecessary extra work but especially bc its such a weird and unecessary change
i bet its bc everything here is getting englishfied (both literally and culturally it feels like, when my new boss talks its half in english bc every second german word is just replaced by an english one despite there being perfectly fine words for it in german too, its so annoying) and bc they want to sound more personal in hopes of getting more clients bc 'company is your fwiend uwu!!', i know this here is the amercian tm site so you wouldnt understand really but i do not want to be greeted with 'du' by companies, no, thats too personal, you dont know me and im not giving you my data, stay away!!
i guess thats how i would describe it .. the formal you is like a polite distance, like someone you dont know staying outside your personal space, but when its the informal 'you' it feels invasive unless i told you you can call me that, and that goes double for companies
maybe its a small thing that doesnt seem important but i cant stand it, im just a little part time worker doing data work so i got no say in it but the companies founder also announced hes giving his post to his kids some time ago so ...... since then theres been alot of changes and new projects that solely aim to imitate whats popular and whats done by other companies, despite ours being one that is, or used to be, intentionally different, like, that was the POINT, but i guess chasing trends is just too appealing for CEOs

I'm back on my reread, and I love that Ming Fan bursts into tears when sqq wakes up again after the demon invasion. being a crybaby is not a Binghe-exclusive trait, all the Qing Jing disciples cling to their shizun's robes and sob on him
#svsss reread#it always strikes me when i think about the flashback scene when the tea is poured on binghe's head and he starts crying#and it says that was the first and last time he cried on qing jing peak#(presumably referring specifically to binghe of pidw)#and it also says the last time binghe had cried was when he was burying his mother#which makes me think that he does not cry often unless under extreme duress#which is SO interesting considering his crybaby act is largely an act#there are definitely moments when he cries for real but it's usually moments of intense stress#maigu ridge jumps to mind#but most of the time when he's getting weepy for shizun he's playing it up#because he knows sqq is weak to his tears#so to circle back to ming fan here#i wonder if this was part of binghe observing and collecting data on How To Make Shizun Like Me#so he sees ming fan sobbing at sqq and not getting scolded#and he was like ah i see this is a way to make him like me
