Danny has been out of the hero game for a while now.

You see, when clockwork reset the timeline to one where the disastroid didn't happen Danny made it his mission to quit the job for good. This involved forming an actual defense from Ghost invasions (though he's sure his parents loved testing out what the magic community likes to call "An awful combination of sentience and technology.") and also giving rights to ghosts. Hell, even Vlad's started to come around. The old fruit loop actually changed his ways and is setting him up to the heir to DALV.co while trying to fix the shit they did to the environment when doing trial runs of Val's suit.

(Mostly because sam threatened to break Vlad's knees, both of the halfas think she could do it.)

He finally do what wants with his life and satisfy his obsessions with space and protection. Danny's got all sorts of projects he's tinkering on like air purifiers and growing food in space. He's been just, doing his thing for so long that his powers had gone into a kind of reserve mode. Danny's strength and speed are back to just above average, his ice only good for ice cubes and being a human AC, can't even feel ghostly presence if it's not right on top of him.

But Danny is actually happy.

Or he would be if not for Lex Luthor. He hates that vindictive, capitalist egg. The male pattern baldness horror story managed to weasel his way into a partnership with Vlad when he was still trying to put the (now reformed) GIW on his leash.

The first time Danny met the man his hair nearly turned all white, literally. He's lucky Lex was more interested in Vlad, his investment partner than him otherwise he'd have seen. He wouldn't have been that mad if not for Lex's pocket full of (condensed mass of kryptoian suffering.) kryptonite, and his kryptonian clone? who kept eyeing that pocket. Kon was the kids name BTW, also he DEFINITELY saw Danny's hair change.

Now he has to deal with the pair every other week, one reason being Lex is not so subtly trying to get his hands on some ectoplasmic generator schematics. The other is that Kon is helping him catch Luthor before he does.

Modern Day Platonic Cumplane AU where Shen Yuan meets struggling author, Shang Qinghua. He realizes that Shang Qinghua is the author of his most hated story, and rips into him. After he is done, Shang Qinghua explains how he currently can't afford to write a good story, and Shen Yuan, a rich kid who has done nothing with his life at this point, decides to help fund his story in exchange for being his editor, and Shang Qinghua agrees

After seeing the state of Shang Qinghua's apartment and all of his possessions, Shen Yuan decides 'hell naw', and has Shang Qinghua move in with him (he had an extra room) and replaces all his stuff. They end up becoming close friends, and Shen Yuan learns that being an editor is fulfilling for him

While those two get along, their friends think something else is happening. They believe that Shen Yuan has become a Sugar Daddy, and Shang Qinghua is his Sugar Baby, and they are NOT happy about that

It does not help when they go to Shen Yuan and tell him that Shang Qinghua wants his money, Shen Yuan replies 'I know, that was part of our arrangement'

Hearts are broken and many people want to break them up for their own selfish reasons (whether because they want to be with Shen Yuan or Shang Qinghua, or in Shen Jiu's case, doesn't want his baby brother to date a freeloader)

Meanwhile Shang Qinghua and Shen Yuan are oblivious and are having the time of their lives working on their masterpiece

Your centaurs differ pretty wildly from the base DnD centaurs, but what I am curious about is old people. DnD centaurs travel in migrations that last generations and just leave the old or infirm behind to keep on (at which point they become Chiron types); how do your centaurs handle the elderly?

I actually had no idea that DnD centaurs did that, kinda cool, kinda wild cultural practice?? While I have always encouraged folks to use my workarounds and patches for centaurs in their TTRPG games, I actually have very little idea of what ideas are already in any of the systems that do actually include centaurs! my advice on centaurs is usually much more niche daily life stuff than most game developers and story writers tend to delve into.

For my centaurs the elderly are treated much like any human elder, what do you do with them? You cherish them!! Particularly with my centaurs, who across all their cultures depend a lot on family and group dynamics to compensate for the challenges that come with having a horse body. So elders would be an important font of knowledge and cultural memory! Now MY centaurs in particular tend to be pre-history to medieval style cultures, with access to higher medicines pretty much limited to the Port city of the Merchant's culture so living to a super advanced age would be fairly rare, but that would just make those who DO get to that age generally more important and respected (at least according to Nana)

As mobility issues arise with advanced age, there's lots of options to keep Nana mobile and healthy, from supportive corsets and harnesses to support the back to senior comfort hoof trims and special shoes- but most end up opting for being (literally) carted around in small wagons by the grandkids. Or the more independent minded seniors may drive their own carts with pet ponies and donkeys (or even goats!)

Of course wheelchairs are also an excellent choice to help with mobility at any age!

And even in my semi-nomadic Rider culture, elders are simply packed up with the yurts and tents and travel in the carts that way. No reason to leave them behind when you have stuff to be carrying anyway in my opinion!

Something I do not see talked about enough is the way Blitz plays the system during Mastermind.

Everyone talks about the fact that Stolas used the racist, classist system to his advantage to save Blitz.

But Blitz did the same to save Moxxie, Millie and Loona.

Imps know they are meant to serve, to obey.

Blitz is the Boss. He "controls" Moxxie, Millie and Loona in the eyes of everyone around them.

And Blitz is using that to get them out of the fire. He is calling the shots. He is going against the system. They only obey him as they are meant to do.

Blitz is the rogue rebelling against them.

That's the message he sends, on live TV for all of hell to see. He is also playing the system the best way he can in that situation but it's overshadowed by Stolas act.

Just encountered something that made me so viscerally mad I had to stop everything I was doing and scream about it into the void (you are the void, tumblr, thank you for your time)

Ever seen that little test tube icon at the top of your Google search? That's Search Labs.

This led me to reading about all the "experiments" they have going on and OH BOY, this is the one that got me mad enough to actually leave feedback (bear in mind I like NEVER leave comments or reviews on things so you know it's bad)

Of all the "experiments" they are launching with their Search Labs, this one is the most egregiously transparent attempt to capitalize on the human brain's superiority over a computer's.

I see what they are doing.

"Look at these auto generated images and try your best to tell us what you think the original prompt is! Teehee, isn't this a fun test? Don't you want to have fun?? Play our game, uwu".

This is about as blatant as you can get: they want to train their Ai to get better at generating its frankly often garbage results by using real people to tell it how it could have done better.

My guess as to why Google is even doing this: ◽️Let’s say you use of one of Google's programs to generate an image based on your own personal written prompt (I know YOU wouldn't, fair tumblr user, but stay with me here)

◽️You are subsequently frustrated at the slop Google generated for you, and select a button that says something along the lines of "I am not satisfied with this result".

◽️This auto-triggers something on Google's end, which I assume captures this response along with the image it is attached to.

◽️Now, they can put that picture in front of thousands of unwitting people who can tell Google EXACTLY what "prompt" they associate with that image instead. Exactly the words that it SHOULD be tagged with.

These pieces of ai "art" are NOT good, let me make that clear. What financial benefit would Google have to present a panel of testers with perfectly generated images? To make this game in the first place? The only way ai can advance is when humans tell it what it did wrong. Because the computer doesn't fucking know what a raven vs a writing-desk is. It needs us to give it the words to think. Poor baby gets confused when we are vague. :(

All this under the guise of a cutesy little "test". A "game".

This is not fun, and it is extremely scummy. Do better Google. Be better. I'm attaching some screenshots of the first "level" so you too can enjoy the art of prompting!!! (she says with so much dry sarcasm the Deserts of Arrakis spontaneously turn into an ocean)

Thought:

If you are an anti endo system who's goal is functional multiplicity, you sound foolish. Angst Anon and @weirdocat83 are giving me ideas!!!

First, two key points.

Point 1:

Assuming Heavenly Demons don’t do the House Targaryen thing, the fact that Tianlang jun was referred to as a ‘full blooded’ Heavenly Demon seems to indicate a ‘full blood’ Heavenly Demon and a member of demon nobility can produce ‘full blood’ Heavenly Demon offspring. It’s only when a Heavenly demon has children with very different demon race (like in Zhuzhi-lang’s case) or a non-demon race (like in Luo Binghe’s case) that the offspring are considered half-Heavenly Demon.

In the case of Heavenly Demon crows, presumably similar rules would apply. A ‘full blood’ Heavenly Demon crow plus a demon crow (or possibly any demon corvid) creates ‘full blood’ Heavenly Demon crow offspring. A Heavenly Demon crow plus a non-corvid demon, or any non-demon race, would produce a half-Heavenly Demon crow instead.

Point 2:

It turns out crows are known for being “socially monogamous but genetically promiscuous,” as the experts put it. One study found that about 18% of each clutch hasn’t been sired by their mother’s permanent partner.

With Heavenly Demon crows being prone to vanity and carelessness, it would make sense for this approximately 1 in 5 ratio to apply to their offspring as well, right?

Now, let us suppose that Shen Yuan had a Heavenly Demon crow parent who had a fling with Yao crow, rather than a demon crow. That would make little Shen Yuan only a half-Heavenly Demon crow, rather than a full one, so of course he’d hatch with less shiny feathers!

As Angst Anon suggested, his Heavenly Demon parent would not be impressed, ultimately resulting in him being left behind when they next moved territories.

That’s where @weirdocat83’s suggestion, that cultivation increases the amount of gold in a Heavenly Demon crow’s feathers, comes in.

While Shen Yuan was abandoned for not being shiny enough, it turns out he’s actually a very skilled cultivator! With his natural aptitude, his diligence, and his knowledge of where to find the most suitable secret techniques, he soon becomes far more golden than any of his full Heavenly Demon crow relatives!

His adoptive crow family is very proud of his achievements. ♥️

(That this gives him more parallels with Luo Binghe, and lets him do both demonic and spiritual cultivation, is an added bonus).

For once, I don't have much to add onto this, because I blabbered about my thoughts on adopted crowyuan with the angst anon. So, you all get this one without my silly ramblings!!! This is so so cool though.
