Started a little doily today and got 30 rows in.
This is a test knit for a recharting of some 1940's lace patterns and this particular doily isn't even fully recharted yet, so it's probably going to be on my needles for a while. But it'll be my second time doing short rows in lace and that's a skill I really want to practice, helping out with the test knit is a nice bonus.
So far every decrease has been marked as a k2tog which may have been done by the person recharting but could've been from the original pattern. I've knit a couple vintage lace patterns that only used k2tog/k3tog decreases. Normally I would just go ahead and put in whatever decrease I wanted there but for this test knit I'm going to just knit as written (even if it hurts me).

I feel like the reason why people are pointing to JM akgaes is because there are more people in the current process of becoming JM akgaes, because the breaking point for a bunch of superbiased Jimin-biased Jikookers was the Face v. 7 comparison. Felt like this 'turnover' point for KTH akgaes from Tkkrs was 2017-18. The mistreatment rhetoric was everywhere and even today the Burn the Stage documentary is the holy grail of mistreatment for KTHs.
I wanted to ask you, BPP, what do you make of V's reduced streaming numbers in USA? I was surprised. Does this represent Army's true power with JM / JK's numbers being an additional cherry on top (or whole sundae on top) because of GP / casuals / solos ; or is this a sign of the 'split focus' so-called OT7s with a bias towards members who are central to BTS' image in the USA; or have KTHs done permanent damage to goodwill among Army?
I know you're not V biased but if you have a breakdown to offer I would be greatly interested. (Vminimin bias here).

Ngl, this reminds me of the discourse about the difference in streaming performance between JITB and Indigo, where RM's streaming numbers were more than Hobi's in the US (and globally). Hobi akgaes thought it was weird considering Hobi had just done Lollapalooza and had a huge turnout. Just like back then, people discounted just how much the fandom shows that everyone here really just does what they want, how people's music preferences show up in their streaming habits, and they aren't coerced to stream like mindless orangutans in the fandom. Tae's album, just like Hobi's album, is really good, but it's also not in a genre a lot of people find accessible, very enjoyable, and can withstand streaming incessantly.
Look at the difference in streams between Yet to Come and RUN BTS.
All that aside, my perception is that the maknae-line have many people who bias them from the USA, but far as I can tell, Jimin has the most dedicated fans in the US, UK and Korea + Japan; Jungkook in the US, India, France and Japan; and Taehyung in China, SEA, and to a lesser degree, Japan and the US. I recall I've seen a few surveys here and there a few years ago (before 2019) that showed popularity rankings in various regions, but those rankings are no longer reliable as they've been gamed to hell by akgaes (usually Taehyung solos based on the instances and call-outs I've seen).
So, coupled with the fact not a lot of people care to constantly stream V's sleepy, vibey, but admittedly tasteful album because it's not their taste, it's also possible Taehyung has fewer heavily-biased fans in the US to compulsively stream his album, compared to Jimin or Jungkook. The fact any of the members show up on the charts at all is because of OT7 ARMYs, who have the absolute numbers to place the members high enough to chart even if each ARMY only contributes a handful of streams. Any group of akgaes who have been trying and failing to rechart on the most exclusive charts will tell you the same thing. It's literally a numbers game and ARMYs simply have the numbers.
Those who are biased generally push for the members they bias more, other factors like the genre and listenability of the song influences how the wider fandom responds, and the core of the fandom remains OT7 ARMYs who push each project in any case, and are the reason any of these projects can get those sort of recognitions to begin with.
These aren't comparisons that matter to me for any member, not for my biases and not for the maknae-line, because I do think they're unhelpful, generally very reductive, and only serve the purpose of inflating the egos of various akgaes who weaponize this data to show other members in the group are less deserving of their accomplishments and/or any support those members receive.
It's not like Tae's doing bad either lol.

I absolutely love your older brother Danyal Who left to protect Damian story, can you add on to it because I wanna know how he would interact with the family and maybe he knew Jason when he was in the league before he left or He would turn invisible and spy on the batfam to check up on Damian from time to time so he knows things about them
i've actually thought about Jason knowing about Danny in the League before! I made a little meme about it in one of my meme dump posts! Ultimately it's non-canon to the au and would have to be part of an offshoot branch or a variant of the au due to continuity reasons.
Meaning that if Jason knew about Danyal, I don't think Damian would have been able to keep his existence (and "death") a secret for long. Or at least long enough for it to be revealed that he was alive. Jason would have asked about Danny at some point, maybe even right away upon re-entering the family and seeing Damian there, depending on the context. I can see him asking whether in front of everyone and in private too, depending on that context as well.
Ooooo and! I just remembered this, but there's no guarantee that Danny and Jason would have even met while Jason was in the league too -- some depictions I've seen of this au have Jason around while Damian is still a baby, or as a young kid. The timelines are notoriously wonky. -- and Danyal "died" when Damian was five. Depending on the ages, the timeline, and all that jazz, Jason could have very well entered the League when Damian was five sometime after Danyal's death.
Or he could've been there to see Danyal, meet him, and eventually become close enough to him to figure out that Danyal deeply adored his little brother and everything he did was ultimately meant to be for his benefit -- in a twisted up way. Hey, we could even go a step further and say he was there the night Danny got his facial scar. It really would all depend.
But that would require me sitting down and recharting the timeline in order to fit that in without any significant plot holes; like deciding ages, how long Jason's with the League before splitting (ultimately he spent five years away from Gotham before returning. How many of those years am I willing to keep him in the au?), when he was there, etc.
Something I am simply not interested nor have the energy to do for this au this far in ashdgf. So for the sake of my own sanity and the continuity of the main au: Jason did not know nor know about Danyal in the League.
However its still a fun idea to think about! So some things I've thought about if Jason did know Danyal in the league:
- For the hispanic jason truthers: Jason sometimes called him diablito; 'little devil' since the whole 'grandson of the demon head' thing.
- Danyal had a habit of sitting right outside Damian's room at night to listen for intruders, something he's done since Damian was a baby after the initial attack that resulted in his scar. Jason would sometimes sit with him if he found him like that.
- If Jason was present -- both physically and mentally -- for the day Damian was born, he saw firsthand the way Danny was so happy to meet him. The light shining in Danyal's eyes as baby Damian latched onto his fingers is not something he could ever forget.
- This means he was also there the day Danyal got his scar a few days later. Bursting into the nursery with Talia and seeing Danny hovered in front of the crib, almost drenched in blood with his face split open, is not something he'll forget either.
- (fun fact, did you know that head injuries bleed the most even if it's a shallow cut? Danny's scar, which in order to still be prominent at 15, would be from his hairline to his jaw, would've been bleeding profusely. And scars shrink with age! This is not only because of healing, but because your body grows except the scar doesn't. This i know from personal experience -- i have a scar on my knee from 2nd grade that used to stretch horizontally from kneecap to kneecap and needed two large bandaids to cover. But now is barely any longer than the first joint of my pinkie. It has not faded.)
- Nor will he forget the thousand yard stare in Danny's little blue eyes as he looked up at Talia and, in a little voice, said; "They were gonna hurt Damian, momma."
- He and Talia both tried convincing Danny to use the lazarus pits to heal his face without a scar, Danny refused and kept refusing. It was proof he'd protected his brother and he wouldn't accept any of their reasoning. It hasn't impaired his sight or ability.
- Jason held his hand while the cut got stitched up. Danyal didn't cry once. He stared at the wall over the doctor's shoulder, and the only indication that Jason knew he was in pain was when his grip tightened in his hand.
- Jason left shortly after Damian turned three, so he was somewhat aware that Danny was going to begin distancing himself from Damian. Damian's memories of him in the League are fuzzy at best.
- When Damian joined the family and Jason was hanging around/reconciled with them, he asked Damian in the cave about Danyal. He said; "By the way, where's Danyal? I'm surprised he's not hovering by your side."
- He did not like the way Damian tensed up and refused to meet his eyes. When Damian finally revealed that Danyal was dead, he refused to believe it, and continued to refuse to believe it long afterward. Danyal? Gone? The little eldest demon was dead? That sounded completely unlike him. That boy was too stubborn and loved Damian too much to stay buried.
- They got into an argument about it right there in the cave. Jason thought Damian was lying to him, and Damian was not appreciating how much Jason cared nor him saying Damian was a liar.
- Jason has a few photos of him and Danyal and Damian in the league. All of them happened when Damian was too young to remember them. He has one or two photos of Danyal before he got his scar. He eventually shares these with Damian.
- I did have one idea where he found Danny in Amity Park once and had to be threatened by Danyal to not tell anyone.
okay that's all i've got for now. Onto the others!
"[or] would [he] turn invisible and spy on the batfam to check up on Damian from time to time so he knows things about them"
He wouldn't do this actually! Danyal is essentially in something like deep cover right now, and his whole reason for leaving the League is the belief that him being near Damian or the two of them being together is dangerous to Damian. That they will eventually be pitted against each other, and Danyal refuses to harm his brother in any sort of capacity.
The very last thing he would do is try and do anything that would indicate that he was alive -- including going invisible and flying over to Gotham to see Damian. The Waynes would figure out eventually that they were being spied on. They have experience with the paranormal and the weird due to Gotham shenanigans and basic hero craziness. They have incredible reflexes and intuition, you know how people can feel it when they're being stared at? That. That would happen, and when they can't shake the feeling of being watched, they'd get paranoid and seek out the cause of the feeling.
In some issues, afaik, Wayne Manor has protections against magical creatures. That place is more secure than Fort Knox; Danyal would not be able to get in or near it without triggering some sort of alarm.
And so, Danyal would do the opposite, and in fact would avoid Gotham like the plague -- in order to stay away from Damian, he has to stay away from Damia. And he'd probably avoid some of the cities where he knows his father's affiliates and allies lay, just to be safe. This is relatively easy to do since he's 15 and not leaving Amity Park any time soon.
If, for any reason, his foster family or school (for the 'visiting gotham' trope) made a plan to visit Gotham, Danyal would find a way to get out of it, by any means necessary.
It's just not a risk he's willing to take, and the 'deep cover' thing is something I mentioned in my Ellie and Damian Meeting oneshot (its in a reblog of my "danny and dani meeting" post). The only reason Damian hasn't immediately flown out to Danyal is because of two main reasons:
he has no idea where he is
Bruce forbade it for the time being because it could spook Danny off.
If Danny found out that Damian knew he was alive, knew where he was, and was going to come see him, there's no guarantee that Danny will just... stay. There's no guarantee that Danyal won't freak the fuck out and disappear off the radar, and then they'll be back to square one. Finding and meeting Danyal requires patience and proper planning, they can't dive headfirst into this.
Besides! Danny keeps tabs on Damian and his father (and eventually by extension his siblings) through news reports and articles about them! Sure not all of them are truthful, but the things reporting their actions, whereabouts, etc, he keeps and prints out and puts in a little shoebox/scrapbook in his room!
The folder on his father is huge because he started it a few months into moving in with the Fentons and it spans back decades. and Damian's is currently the smallest since he just recently appeared in public eye. Most of it is things like, Wayne Inc announcements for charities, galas, etc. Not tabloids or gossip. Positive publicity stuff.
He keeps them under his bed, and he pulls out his father's scrapbook to tell him about patrol whenever he comes back and needs to stitch himself up. It lets him pretend that he's actually telling his father about what he's done.
As for Danny interacting with the fam -- it'd be awkward but non-hostile! Danny's... not sure how to act with them, he'd be not unlike a skittish stray cat that you're trying to befriend who keeps running away. He only knows them from what he's parsed out from news articles written about them -- both civilian and hero -- and anything Talia's told him.
There's for sure a resemblance between him and Damian in more than just looks -- they both hold this sort of powerful or confident air around them that seems exclusive to the Al Ghul family -- and there's of course that pride in their abilities. They have similar speech patterns -- although Danny's more relaxed due to Sam and Tucker's influence. And they both share an intense care for animals and the environment that's also pretty standard for the Al Ghul family.
Overall though he's just... rather quiet. Snarky and witty, but quiet. Unsure and seemingly analyzing them, trying to figure them out. He's quietest around Bruce -- not because he's afraid of him or anything, but he's overwhelmed by him. He's wanted to meet Bruce since he was a child, and now he is and he doesn't know what to do. It's a strange feeling to have.
You can find him sitting in the same room Bruce is in and find him just, watching him. Watching him from various, obscure places. He seems content to just exist in his presence, and confused when Bruce speaks to him -- like he's not totally comprehended the fact that he's actually there in front of him.
Damian and Danny have perhaps the most awkward interactions with each other out of everyone -- they have old issues they need to sort out like Danny purposely distancing himself from Damian, and intentionally orchestrating their past interactions to result in Damian hating him, and Damian needs to figure out who his brother really is beyond what he led Damian into thinking.
There's a lot of one-sided yelling matches where Damian airs out his grievances at Danny, and Danny sits there silently and lets him. Danny apologizes to him for treating him so coldly in the past, that if there's anything he could go back and redo, it would be that. That he doesn't expect forgiveness from Damian, but he wants him to know Danyal's sincerity. He tells him that if he wanted, Danny could return to Amity Park and he won't bother Damian or his family again. Al Ghuls don't cry, but i think Danyal does when he apologizes to Damian.

Content under the cut!
The ship rocked softly back and forth on the seas, cradling the sleeping heroes as the moon gently draped the bedazzled sky with it's softer toned light.
Wind was still awake, as were you. Both of you were trying to keep the course of the ship on the right track.
Your lantern light was the closest thing you had for a light source to look at your maps and charts. You consider yourself lucky to have this on hand. Only Wind seemed as well versed in the stars as you were, hence the agreed upon decision to leave you both to your devices while everyone else went to sleep in the hammocks the small ship provided.
Wind was silent as he stood by the wheel.
You mapped out the course for the next island you were to make land, following your previous notes and comparing them to a map you had purchased before you had set sail.
A short sigh escaped your lips as you started to pack up. You couldn't keep doing this. Your eyes were strained and the moon made it difficult to see the needed stars for you figure out if you were going the right direction. You'll give it an hour or two- let the moon move further across the night sky and then start recharting what you needed.
"Going to bed?" Wind asked quietly.
You shook your head. "I'm tired, but I'm not going to leave you alone just yet."
An bitter chuckle tumbled from your lips as you stretched. Your spine and ribs popped and cracked from the needed release of strain. You saw Wind flinch but ignored it.
"If only it wasn't the full moon tonight. It would make this a lot easier."
"I can't even see the Farore Constellation." Wind sighed in despondent agreement. "I know these stars... but we're technically sailing over an island right now, so I doubt I'd actually be of much use as a navigator."
You snort. "That's why I'm up with you and not sleeping in the hull of the ship with the other guys."
There's no other sounds afterwards. There's a moment of stillness, save for the callings of the wind and the waves in their frequent call and response symphony.
"I've actually never been on a ship before." You admit, breaking the moment.
Wind jolts, almost as if he was startled awake. He tilts his head with a cheeky smile growing on his face. "Really? You're a natural at navigating. I never would have guessed."
That sets your frustrations at ease for a bit. You sit down against the railing, turning your body to talk to more experience sailor. "I just like looking at the stars for fun."
"Fun?" Wind gets a credulous look as he giggles. "I just knew the stories I was told as a kid. But I wouldn't say that comparing them to maps was fun."
"I know the stories too, sir and it's fun for me." You rolls your eyes playfully. "It just means we make a good team. I wouldn't be able to steer the ship for the life of me."
"You literally just turn the wheel left or right."
"I'd steer us right into a cliff face."
Wind giggles again.
"You actually know what you're doing but I actually know where we're going." You grin. "It works out."
"I guess so." Wind shrugs. "Better us than any of the others guys."
"They'd capsize the ship."
"Don't joke like that. Bad luck."
You smile. You don't necessarily believe in luck, but you've heard sailors to be the suspicious sort. You'll let him have this. "I retract my statement then. How far along are we following The Star of Demise?"
"About 15 knots, why?"
"Change coarse to sail towards Nayru's Trident." You grin. "We'll hit land fall by morning."
"Perfect."

I’ve been thinking a lot about how the showrunners have said in the past how much they referred to the Bible for inspiration and the religious symbolism utilized frequently throughout TROP. Also, how many online critics of haladriel cite the Virgin Mary as Tolkien’s inspiration for Galadriel and how shipping the two is sacrilegious. And while I do agree that Sauron is very clearly modeled after Satan, I think to say Sauron = Satan is pretty reductive. I also don't think this is the only theologic parallel in TROP.
I have said before, and I'll explain here that I think where JDP and McKay were drawing from were multiple religious parables: this includes Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. In my opinion, this parallel is an interesting and revealing one.
Like Sauron, Satan had “many names.” He was Lucifer once. In LOTR, Mairon was created by Eru and was once fair and good. Hence the opening line of the very start of this series: “Nothing is evil in the beginning." I think this is a founding principle of the show and season 1. It applies to people, ideas and intentions. Where season 1 sought to establish an origin story of sorts, they started with the "original sin”, the “Adam” and the “Eve.” In this case, the “genesis” of it all begins with Halbrand and Galadriel.
And is Halbrand the "Adam" archetype? I believe at this stage, he aspired to be. Sauron literally was reborn and perhaps saw that as a purifying experience. He wanted, in a sense, to be free of sin, the mistakes and flaws of his past. There is this striking image: an opening shot when we encounter Halbrand on the raft. Before he turns to face Galadriel, he cups water in his hand and he bathes his head: the act is baptismal.
Tumblr media
Baptism in Catholicism is meant to cleanse the soul of original sin. A return to Adam. A return to purity. And he fits the description. He is "just a man." A "low man", primordial. They wander through Numenor in awe. Halbrand calls it a "paradise," a refuge to find his peace. And I think this is an important parallel to make because, maybe, Sauron didn't initially desire to conquer this new world, but to reclaim his Garden of Eden. To live free of his original sin. He sees the forge immediately and takes this as a sign, an offer: this is his ripe opportunity. Not to dominate and subjugate, but to be reborn as Mairon before Melkor. He is Halbrand seeking to rechart his path had he not have been seduced by Morgoth. And even if this would be a pale facsimile of his unsullied form, maybe it would be enough. But then there is Galadriel, who becomes his “Eve.”
Tumblr media
Galadriel appears to fit the role. In the story of the Garden of Eden, it is Eve who offers the forbidden fruit to Adam. And with it the promise of knowledge, of greatness. Galadriel tells him that his current commoner state is the convenient lie, that the greatest act of reconciliation is to embrace his true self. While this advice may seem sound and was intended somewhat nobly, this is the double-edged logic that led to the fall of Man — his ambition. His pride.
Further deepening associations with sin, heaven, purity and evil is the iconography:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This shot is clearly meant to echo the famous depictions of the archangel St. Michael defeating Satan. And the symbolism is really interesting. Because where St. Michael purged Satan from heaven, Galadriel stops Halbrand. She asks him to spare Adar. Meanwhile, Halbrand is shaking with fury that I wouldn't interpret as emotion over the Uruk’s betrayal. He was almost detached and emotionless when Adar was killed later. Here, he is near tears when he proclaims, “You don’t know what he did!” He’s not talking about the Uruk in front of him. He’s talking about himself. Adar is the proxy for his past, his sins, his demons. Were Halbrand to succeed and vanquish Satan in effigy, he would be metaphorically purging himself. You can see he wants to desperately. But that closure is nullified. Galadriel stays his spear and it becomes symbolic of Halbrand’s failed overture at purification.
But mercy is not Galadriel’s folly anymore than it was for Bilbo to spare Gollum. Redemption after sin is not found in erasing the past. It’s not in making the impure, pure again. It is the balance of darkness and light in which justice collects payment. Something that Galadriel mentions twice in season 1 and is shown in Sauron's vision of their union. His world is in balance.
Tumblr media
The loss of innocence when sacrificed for knowledge and greater ambition results to pain and suffering. But also allows bravery and hope to flourish. “Life in defiance of death.” The beauty borne from evil. Galadriel beckons to Halbrand with the promise of such harmony and he starts to believe. That peace and paradise in Numenor, his new "Eden,” are not his fate. She is. With the light of the Two Trees ensnared in her being, he would see Galadriel as the embodiment of paradise made flesh. He can live with his darkness with Galadriel at his side. Her light will provide balance. He cannot be free of the stain of his original sin. Without balance, he is destined to replay it like a broken record.
Tumblr media
When we first see him emerge into human form, he has clothed his nakedness. It recalls to mind the creation of Man. However, in this version, darkness and shame follow this “Adam” because he has already fallen. And as we progress through 2 seasons, Halbrand devolves with the snake and serpent emerging as the dominant entity. Towards the end of season 1, he dons a serpent's scales as seen in his armor. By the end of the season finale, after Galadriel rebuffs him and effectively casts him out -- look at this shot. He looks like a cobra poised to sink his fangs into her with a poisonous bite (he succeeds in 2x08):
Tumblr media
Like the biblical serpent, manipulation is his tool and one he has employed with great skill and ease. Adar, Mirdania, Celebrimbor, the orcs. He tempts them with promises and praise. Adar describes his way as “slithering.” When Adar commands Halbrand to grovel on the ground in 2x01, this is a reference to the serpent in the Genesis story who was condemned to crawl on his belly by God as his eternal punishment.
Tumblr media
Later, when Sauron transforms into Annatar, his manner and dress pay homage to this. His headdress, the detail of his robes, his chest plate and his arm vambrances are adorned with coiling snakes. Charlie had said in an interview that this was intentional. This was his metamorphosis.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But with Galadriel, I posit that he “fell” as Adam not by being consumed with schemes of pride and hubris (as in past and future iterations of Sauron). It was that he fell in love. Which is why this parallel with the Garden of Eden is so important. It is a long argued theological debate that the serpent and the forbidden fruit in this story do not just represent greed but also lust and desire. Adam’s sin was not just borne of his vices but also out of love. He loved his Eve more than his God. He turned away from paradise because Eve held their future in her hand, having eaten the fruit before Adam. So he chose to share that unknown fate so long as they remained bound together. Whether in glory or exile. I believe this is the greater “sin” Halbrand committed when he left Numenor, his "Eden," with Galadriel.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don’t even think he was aware of it at first. He may or may not have believed in her cause but he had complete devotion to her. He did not seek forgiveness from Eru but he asked for hers. He worshipped her and in doing so committed the greatest transgression. Like Adam, he turned from seeking salvation from God and chose to follow his Eve instead. And for Galadriel’s part, the obvious symbol for the forbidden fruit is Nenya. A ring that was literally made from power forged by good and evil in conflict over a tree. But I don’t think that was the real forbidden fruit here. It was when they chose each other in defiance of the gods. What ultimately gave her knowledge of good and evil? Not a ring. It was her binding to Sauron that opened the door and unleashed such power, love, life, beauty and death upon Middle Earth. The forbidden fruit was a forbidden love. That was the reason for Halbrand's preoccupying fear of Galadriel casting him out. It was because he had already been cast out of paradise in his past life. And when Galadriel shut the door to him, she cast him out of the paradise he was so desperate to rediscover.

You're getting the Mitochondrial socks by Dana Gervais! (Hope you're not tired of DNA cables.) The ribbing at the top of these socks is a nice touch.

Summer Fics (2024):
call it off, call it love by cocotamarindo, ETL_Echo_Audiobooks, karma_cookie, Wanderingfair - M, one-shot - When she removed her own robes to reveal a crisp white collared shirt cinched under a brown leather wand holster his heart stopped beating entirely. “Is that- Uh,” he stumbled, “is that issued by the DMLE?” “This?” She paused as the thin strap loosened just enough to fall off her shoulder. “My design, actually.” “Of course.” He walked over, hooking a finger underneath and securing it in its proper place before pulling the leather strap to tighten it. “Of course it is, Granger.” He taught himself how to inhale and exhale breath on their short walk into the classroom. OR Draco and Hermione attempt to co-teach Defence Against the Dark Arts while also denying their growing feelings towards each other.
when shall we meet again? in lightning, thunder, and rain by 2daughtersofathena - T, one-shot - It's a hot day in Cokeworth, and Hermione is waiting for the bus. She thinks back over the last few years. Enter, Draco.
Rare Society by Dizzle00 - E, 7 chapters - no summary
equilibrium by way of sea by euphrasie_pont - not rated, one-shot - When Hermione Granger encroaches on Draco’s one sanctuary spot on the British shoreline, Draco simply has to hurt her feelings first before she hurts him. It’s the last law still standing in this unknowable, entropic universe. Right? ~ a story about cycles of hurt, recharting familiar territory, and seeking absolution in the tumultuous sea
Summer Loving by dramionelover1997 - E, 2 chapters - Hermione and Draco reconnect in Muggle London, which leads to a romantic summer relationship.
Don't Look Back by WillowingScribe - E, one-shot - Hermione finds herself on a vacation at Nott Hall during a scorching hot summer week. While Harry is busy making moony eyes at Theo, it seems that nobody cares about or even notices the fact that Draco Malfoy is practically undressing her with his eyes at every turn. OR a hazy summer affair between two individuals who should've never sought comfort in each other but find it nevertheless.

Who has likely gone recurrent* in its 23rd week on the Hot 100
*dropped below the top 50 on the chart after its 20th charting week and thus left the Hot 100 entirely
Tumblr media
Normally, this would be the end of Who’s storied run on the Hot 100, however…
There is a possibility it will be allowed to rechart again next week (its 24th week of release but its 23rd week on the chart):
Tumblr media
Billboard has historically not played fair with Jimin’s music so we have to remember that there is no guarantee this “holiday exception” will apply to him.
But we hope it will, and we need to work incredibly hard to make sure the song is comfortably within the top 50 next week!
Tumblr media
If you’re US/PR-based, remember you can buy four copies of the WHO cd every week. Purchase by EOD Monday to count for the following week’s charts ✅

Bucky Barnes Bingo Party Prompt Fill 3: Pirates!
You know how much I love pirates.
I guess it’s all G-rated. And gen. But it could definitely lead to any number of places. Use your imagination.
—⍟-⍟-⍟—
“I’ll not surrender.”
The captain stood at the wheel with a determined look. Natasha was undaunted and she relaxed nearby. She was supposed to be scrubbing the sides of the quarterdeck, but Natasha did things on her own time.
“Barnes,” she said, stepping closer and taking the handle of the wheel into her own hand so he would listen. “No one is trying to take your ship from you at this moment. No one is trying to take your head either. You should listen to him.”
“His papers give him the authority to bring me in in chains and you know where I’d go from there.”
“I also know you picked him up from a desolate spit of land.” she said looking out at other crewmen. “Would you rather we have ignored his cries for help?”
“With the knowledge I have now?”
“You’re a good man, James,” Natasha said softer. “Stop pretending otherwise. You’d be sleepless if we had left him stranded. Besides, he wouldn’t have lasted but another two days. He owes you.”
“It wasn’t worth it. We shouldn’t have picked him up. Someone else would have come along.”
“And if they continued on and left him as well?”
The captain didn’t reply. He was sailing the opposite direction from where he had been on course to go earlier that morning. He had awoken with every intention of following the coast up to Brooklyn Harbor, but now with their newly acquired passenger, he had recharted them back toward Hispaniola. It was safer there.
—⍟-⍟-⍟—
“We don’t have the supplies,” Sam, his quartermaster told him in his cabin a few hours later. “Not for that distance.”
“We’ll get them.” Natasha didn’t seem concerned as she cleaned a pistol that had fallen into the water. “We always do.”
“And you expect me to share with the man who is after the bounty on our heads?” Barnes looked incredulous. “I have half a mind to send him back over into the water.”
Sam and Natasha looked at Captain Barnes expectantly, and the man angrily threw a knife so that it stuck in the doorframe.
“Go eat something and take some rest. You’re irrational and impossible like this.”
Barnes had paid so little attention to them that he wasn’t even sure which of his employees had just called him out.
Both the quartermaster and gunner left Barnes alone without further comment so the captain was forced to entertain himself. He looked over at the knife sticking out of the wood of the doorframe.
“I should have employed you instead of them,” he told the cat sitting on his desk.
Alpine reached a white paw out toward him and didn’t offer any further advice.
—⍟-⍟-⍟—
It took two more days for the captain to visit the man they had picked up from the deserted island. He was staying as their prisoner in the brig.
“I see you’re still drawing air,” Barnes said, leaning against the outside of the bars. “Regrettably.”
The prisoner, a man calling himself Steven Rogers, grasped the bars and pulled himself to his feet.
“Thank you again, Sir,” he said weakly. “For saving my life. I am in your debt.”
“You hunt down wanted fugitives for the Crown,” Barnes told him. “Had I known, I would have sailed on past you. You deserved that fate.”
Rogers looked confused.
“No, Sir, Captain. I do no such thing.”
“Don’t lie to me. I saw your affects. You have warrants for several of my crew and many others. No doubt a hearty sum waiting for you when you-“
“Captain,” the man in the cell argued. “I lifted those warrants from another. I lifted those warrants and jumped from the Hydra with them and my bag of supplies. I had water and jerky enough for several days, but I lost it in the swim. I wasn’t marooned on that strip. I had jumped and swam for it with intent. It’s on a major coastal passageway. Someone else was bound to find me. And without his warrants, Rumlow cannot take anyone into his custody.”
Captain Barnes took a step back and watched the man hold himself up right and meet his eye.
“I swear to you,” Rogers said, raising his hand outward in a solemn vow. “You didn’t finish looking through the warrants, did you? After you saw your name in the stack of papers, you never looked at the rest.”
“What makes you think that?” Barnes asked. He swallowed at the memory because he distinctly recalled lighting his warrant on fire and casting the others aside.
Rogers looked out from between the bars of his cell with a look of determination not unlike the one Barnes had been sporting moments before.
“Because if you had finished looking through them, you would have found my name on one too. I’m saving our lives.”

On view in Chelsea through Mar 23, the exhibition “champions the lives and work of women artists, bringing into vibrant relief their intergenerational relationships, formal and material breakthroughs, and historical impact. Through drawings, mixed media works, paintings, sculptures, and textile works, the artists of ‘Making Their Mark’ rechart art history through their singular, iconic practices.” - Shah Garg Foundation

Its a meme at this point 😭😂😂
Armys during all of Jimin's comebacks: "YOU GAIS, WE SHOULD LIKE TOTALLY TRY AND GET "FAKE LOVE" TO 1B AND RECHART "DYNAMITE". 🥺
PJMs: "Are ya'll serious...? Its literally Jimin's comeback, we should focus on HIS music which is new---"
Armys: "SHADDUP SOLO! JIMIN ONLY KNOWS ARMYS😭. Besides Jimin would be more than happy if we focus on the group songs too"
Also Armys during any other member's comeback: "YA'LL BETTER FOCUS ON HIM AND ONLY HIM. 'CAUSE WE'RE GONNA GIVE HIM THE BEST DEBUT EVER---"
PJMs: "I thought you guys were focusing on group songs only..."
Armys: "Omg, who cares what you stupid solos think! LMAO. Go mind your LOSER business, we don't need your 2 streams, army are the biggest fandom in the world."
PJMs: "'Kay"
[Later on, when that member flops and fails to chart well, especially in the US..]
Armys: "FUCK THESE JIMIN SOLOS FOR RUINING EVERYTHING! HAVE THEY NO SHAME?!"
PJMs: "Bitch, you literally told us to mind our business!"
Armys: "BUT NOT LIKE THAT!"
[PLOT TWIST~!]
Armys: "I hope when 2025 comes all these fucking solos wise the hell up. 'Cause when BTS come back together it won't just be BTS' s comeback, but "their fave"'s comeback also and they'll have NO CHOICE but to support the group songs."
ML Solos Uniting For Only One Purpose: -"Ya'll know what we should totally do? Compete over who gets all the solo songs to 1 Billion so when the guys come back from the military they can play Shooting Gallery with the plaques--"
-"Fuck it, I'm in!"
Armys: "Are you assholes serious right now?"

What patterns do you use for your painted lace pieces? They are all absolutely stunning and I've been thinking about getting more into knitting lace but finding good patterns can be a little daunting
Most of the painted laces came from Ramona French's site. (I like her site very very much. She recharts Neibling patterns (i've worked with a couple of originals - she's doing good work there!) and some of her charts are simply pretty in and of themselves.
I'll also root around in the pattern DB on Ravelry occasionally, but i don't always come up with anything tasty.

ARMYs recharting BTS songs on itunes is honestly so cool... I hope the boys hear about it
***
Me too. I saw they just reposted the article on Spring Day. It’s funny that when ARMY gets sentimental we chart their songs again.
