I don't really have a point here because none of this is strictly canon but the thing about blaming Ford in fanon for not being interested in Fiddleford in the 80s or for choosing Bill over Fidds or for not getting over his internalized homophobia long enough to get dicked down in the bunker or whatever the hell you want to call it, is that... Fiddleford wasn't available.

Fiddleford was married, he had a child. Fiddleford is the one who asked Ford if he ever thought about getting married. Regardless of what other signals Fiddleford was sending at the time or how much or how little Ford accepted them... Ford was always going to be the other man. And maybe Fiddleford is just in a lavender marriage and Emma May understood going in that Fiddleford would be sleeping with other men, but then what does that say about Fiddleford? He's longing for a relationship from so far inside the closet that he has a child. A relationship with a man who's so far in a different closet his boyfriend literally doesn't exist on the material plane.

And what is he expecting from that relationship? Is he going to go back home to Palo Alto and travel back to Gravity Falls for business and a quick fuck? Is he going to leave his wife and child to live with a reclusive scientist in the wilderness? You can "Gravity Falls isn't homophobic in the 80s" all you want but the fact remains that Emma May Dixon exists and needs to be a factor when talking about these ideas from an interpretive standpoint. Fiddleford is a practicing Catholic as of 1982. His entire family is presumably still in Tennessee. Is he expecting to leave that support network behind in favor of Ford, a man who very clearly cannot fill those roles in Fiddleford's life? A fact that becomes infinitely more relevant if we consider the possibility that Fiddleford actually loved Emma May?

Even without Bill being involved, even without all the theoretical social pressure, how viable of a romantic option is Fiddleford, anyways? He's either in his Good Luck Babe era or he's actively trying to cheat on a woman he married completely legitimately and who he genuinely loved at one point. How do you make a relationship like that work?

Thought of a cute AU idea where Gaon has a cooking youtube channel pre-canon where he doesnt show his face but cooks whatever his subscribers ask for/makes on-request step by step tutorials for beginner homecooks and college students. Yohan subscribes to that channel while looking for recipes to make for Elijah after the church fire, trying to replicate dishes from her mother that she liked, hoping to get her to eat again. He anonymously comments and asks Gaon for tutorials on some of those recipes, and while little Elijah doesnt eat everything, the familiar taste comforts her, which Yohan appreciates enormously. He thanks Gaon, reports that the recipes are a success with his niece, and regularly suggests other foods Elijah loved. Gaon obliges and gladly films some more tutorials, keeping this person's niece in mind and wishing her good health.

Then, around the time Gaon gets into law school he becomes really busy and stops updating the channel regularly. Yohan sends kind messages but doesn't get a response bc Gaon has long since logged off and has even forgotten his password. Fast forward to canon, Yohan sees Gaon get really busy in his kitchen, and decides to watch him make one of Elijah's favourites (and maybe gives him one or two details about her preference). Then he notices how the proportions, the way Gaon goes about the different steps and secret ingredients are the same as that youtube channel he used to watch years ago. Yohan off-handedly asks him if he's seen the tutorials from that channel too. It's then that Gaon realises that those heartwarming comment from an uncle cooking for his little niece were from the very family he's inserted himself in

also honestly about that last reblog I'm gonna say something so brave. and maybe this is skewed by nancy brain rot because that girl cannot communicate for shit but honestly? mike is actually not terrible at being emotionally available. people act like he is because they want him so badly to be closet gay which like, fine whatever, but they act like he canonically is never open or honest or anything and that he's a bad person if he isn't gay.

like he definitely makes mistakes and could handle emotional situations better but goddamn the kid is a fourteen year old boy in 1986 cut him some slack. before el gets arrested he really tries to make amends with her, hear her side of the story, and sure he doesn't automatically fix her entire bullying issue after one conversation but literally who would be able to do that? let alone a 14 year old boy who cannot possibly understand what life is like for her. but he honestly really tries.

while they're packing to leave lenora he makes amends with will and opens up about how much he's missed him. again... these are fourteen year old boys.

like idk. he's a good and well written character to me because he is someone who genuinely tries with the people he cares about and still gets it wrong sometimes. he's a kid who's learning! who's had an absolute metric ton of emotional trauma to handle all at the same time. and the people that act like his sexuality is gonna make or break his character are honestly so bold to claim they even like him in the first place.

Briars villan is literally time, but Apple? Apple knows Raven, and all Raven has ever been is reliable and trustworthy and handworking and kind. Why would Apple ever be scared? Her villain is her friend who every single day chooses to the the most kind and gentle version of herself.

To Apple, she isn't getting tragically poisoned by an evil person, she's trusting her life and the start of her future to a dear friend who she knows won't make this painful

Groundwork laid for more exploration of Chongyun's pure-yang spirit at some point, but anyway AAAA- he's finally becoming more appreciative of his condition, seeing it less as a curse, and perhaps a blessing, because of the possibility it was borne from love. His intense emotions, his ability to be the warmth in spiritual shadows, he's grateful at the idea that it's all borne from love, man. I'm. So normal right now. That was so beautiful. if you call himmel pathetic i'm throwing hands at you. himmel showed the purest form of love for frieren and you guys think that's pathetic? what's pathetic is not respect other people's feelings or boundaries and acting like people owe you anything just because you like them. himmel was happy to have a friendship with frieren within her own conditions just because he genuinely enjoyed her as part of his life. he was happy to wait for her for his entire life is he had to but he also never stopped living for himself. that's fucking beautiful. loving someone so much you are able to let them go, not wanting to change who they are or impose anything on them? unconditionally, nonetheless? that's the point of life.

even if i was in a relationship i dont think i could date someone who's like.... really clingy or attached i guess?? i would say i could be accommodating of most ppl but if someone defines themself exclusively within the context of our relationship or who always wants to be around me and do stuff together. im an independent person generally i think i would feel suffocated </3 i like having friends and doing activities without having to run everything by another person or have them constantly be around me asking questions

my parents never really cared about me or had any rules or punishments etc so im used to doing pretty much whatever without someone asking me questions or talking to me about it. even if it's in a positive way where someone just wants to know or is curious im like. i just want to be alone and independent most of the time. i dont think im polyamorous but i couldn't be in a relationship where they expect us to be the center of each others worlds cuz i didn't grow up having that even from my parents!!!! i need to have my own space
