fuck I didn't make a travelers halloween costume post. most of these are probably anachronistic because I'm unwilling to Google movie release dates however I do stand by each decision.

Noelle: Pre-Powers probably Jason or another mask based slasher costume. Something that's not super intricate but still actually horror-based.

Krouse: Vampire. he's already stealing Marquis's whole thing so if he gets the chance he's going full cravat and cape.

Marissa: Full on Rennfaire garb. Either based on a specific side character from Skyrim or just because she would want to be able to wear rennfaire garb.

Jess. The Bear from Annihilation. An upsetting horror monster she could do with her powers easily

Oliver: Link from Legend of Zelda. Every gamer friendgroup is mandated by law to have someone dressed as link from legend of zelda.

Luke: Isaac from Dead Space.

Cody: Homura from Madoka Magika. I strongly believe that watching PMMM would be an egg cracking moment, not because cody is actually anything like homura but because a girl who is struggling and has time loop powers is all it would take

nnnNNNHGGG YESSs okay so, this is also technically a Nova au because I love when Harrow gets to punch things.

Gideon is the genetic match for Jod's late daughter, Prince Kiriona, and she replaces her as his new heir. She works at a Renaissance Faire during the summer between semesters at university and makes extra money by selling her plasma.

Since Kiriona's death, the Lyctors (Mercy, Augustine, and newcomer Ianthe) have been arguing over how her inheritance should be divided up and Gideon showing up throws a wrench into everyone's plans. Ianthe was hoping to use Kiriona's death to rise in the ranks of the Lyctors, but realizes that she's being shut out by Mercy and Augustine. She sends Harrow (an indentured servant and former soldier/ Gideon's new catboy girlfriend) to retrieve Gideon with the intention of getting into Jod's good graces.

Coronabeth and Camilla are mercenaries who have been working the RennFaire for weeks to get close to Gideon. Corona keeps trying to murder her for Ianthe's sake, and Camilla is trying her best to keep Gideon from walking straight into sexy, sexy death. Harrow shows up, makes a lot of noise, inadvertently sets half the faire on fire, and immediately kidnaps Gideon.

That's all I've got so far! I just thought it would be really fun to have an angry Nova catgirl supersoldier who's Jod's perfect killing machine but she only weighs 8 lbs and Gideon keeps scritching her ears. Plus the actual TLT parallel of people constantly dressing Gideon up like a doll. Also, Harrow gets to break up Gideon and Ianthe's wedding.

Also also, please consider the 'i like dogs' scene:

Gideon : Maybe it's my genes. Maybe I have defective engineering, too. [moving closer] And if that's the case... is there any way to fix it?

Nova: [backing away] You are royalty now. I'm a Splice. You don't understand what that means but... I have more in common with a cat than I have with you.

Gideon: I love cats. I've always loved cats.

Every day Luce wears oversized clothes (don't ask where she got them from) adjusted to fit her properly with either ties, corsetry, vests, or exceptionally wide belts. For a formal outfit: I've gone with a Hero of Baldur's Gate, patriar-appropriate styling that leans a bit more into her Wood Elf Heritage fancied up but still keeps the silhouette type she prefers.

Elain Freespawn the Tiefling Sorcerer

Elain's every-day post game uses elements of her old formal robes softened up. She keeps the 'belly dancing' bells as part of her costume because she enjoys how they sound like windchimes when she flies around. Elaine's Formal outfit is a de-gore-ified version of her old cult robes.. -- Which is largely based on one of my own RennFair costumes

Aerfen Mlaștină the Human Monk

Aerfen's every clothes are just her monk clothes which are based on traditional formal Romanian clothing. Her formal clothing is her normal monk robes plus a Vest. Very fancy. :)

Malkira, Chosen of Bhaal the Drow Druid

Mal's everyday clothes are her personal (non-Bhaalist) assassin robes. Her favorite clothes. She likes that it gives her a weird silhouette around her joints when she crouches. Her formal clothes are her cult leader-worn clothes, she does no other formal events willingly. And this is where I would put Vlaaz, Githyanki Cleric of Vlaakith. But to be honest, drawing the Githyanki armor sucks ass. And I was only going to joke that she wears the same thing for daily and formal and it wasn't worth it. Here's Vlaaz anyway. I think she's neat.

She will not dress up any more than this. This is perfection.

Yesterday was the last day of Faire, so I redid my Reniassance Rey from SDCC a bit. Wraps are actual strips of fabric wrapped around my arms. Scarf and pants (not shown) were sewn by me last year. Oh! I got separated from a group at a rennfaire and my beloved friend and dm shouted "Master Chief" when we were looking for each other. I found the group again very quickly. I was not dressed as chief. Other people saw.

Hmmm I think the hobby that I've invested the most time into in the last year or so has been...makeup, actually? Like I've gotten a lot of joy out of playing with colors and trying new techniques and stuff. It feels very vain sometimes lol but it has really been a way for me to be creative separate from my identity as An Artist, which means its easier to keep myself from stressing about whether it's, like, "Good" or not. Same goes for painting my nails 💅
