Just posting one of my favorite scenes from one of my favorite movies - the Revelations 6:12 scene in Ghostbusters.
If you watched this out of context, you'd never guess this was from a comedy movie. I'm no film critic or expert in any regard but in my humble opinion, it's such a perfect scene. Two guys casually relating current events (within context to the film) to the Biblical end of times as they drive down the road. Its a natural conversation everyone at some point in life has had with a friend or co-worker. It's not overacted or too loud that it disrupts the flow and mood of the conversation. The atmosphere, slow pace, both guys smoking cigarettes adds to the natural dread and foreshadows the oncoming final showdown of the movie so well.
I don't know what movies won Oscars in 1984 but Ghostbusters should've at least won 10 based around this scene alone.

“My flesh and my heart faileth: But God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.” —Psalm 73:26 (KJV)
“When Life Knocks You Down, Do What Asaph Did” By Bible Love Notes:
“Most of us face situations in life that knock us off our feet. And it seems logical to ask "Why didn't you stop this, Lord?"
In Psalm 73, Asaph, a faithful servant of God, had similar questions. He looked at all the wicked, arrogant people around him who were living healthy, carefree lives. And he wondered if he'd followed God in vain because his own life was not so carefree.
Asaph began his psalm with confusion and questions (see vv. 2-16), but in verse 17 he made a turn-around, and he ended with reminders of God’s faithfulness (see vv. 18-28). And this is a good way to process our confusion.
Perfect justice will prevail. God promises it (Revelation 22:12; Galatians 6:7-10). But that doesn't mean we'll see it here and now.
So whenever we encounter one of life's unanswerable questions, we should respond like Asaph and remind ourselves of God's wisdom, justice, and faithfulness.”

Revelation 6: The Sixth Seal
So far, everything John saw concerned a single planet. But now the entire cosmos seems to be coming unglued, and the imagery, as fantastic as it is, was vividly familiar to John’s audience. #Revelation6 #TheSixthSeal #BlackSunBloodMoon
The Great Shaking Then I saw when He opened the sixth seal, and a great earthquake happened, then the sun became as black as a sackcloth of hair, and the whole moon became as blood. Then the stars of heaven fell prostrate onto the earth, as a fig tree casts down its untimely figs when being shaken by a great wind. Then the firmament was separated as a scroll being furled, and every mountain…

The Woman and the Dragon
1 Then there appeared a great wonder in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and having the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. 2 And being with child, she cried in travail, and was in pain to deliver.
3 And another sign was seen in heaven: and behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns on his heads; 4 And his tail swept away a third of the stars of heaven, and cast them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to deliver, so that he might devour her child when she gave birth.
5 And she gave birth to a man Child, Who was to shepherd all the nations with a rod of iron; and her Child was caught up to God and His throne. 6 And the woman escaped into the wilderness, where she had a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there for a thousand two hundred and sixty days. — Revelation 12:1-6 | A Faithful Version (AFV) Holy Bible, A Faithful Version © 2020 A Faithful Version. ENEMY LOVE?
How are Christians to relate to an increasingly hostile and alien culture? Do we respond in kind, fighting for the values we hold dear, or does Christ call us to a better, more productive way?
How are Christians to relate to an increasingly hostile and alien culture? Just as I presented some historical context, let’s broaden our view a bit to gain some important Biblical context.  Up above, we saw through the example of the Old Testament, that despite being God’s chosen people, there were times when Israel disobeyed and in turn suffered calamity and banishment under the just judgment…

Look In the Mirror. If You See a Judge, It's Time for a New Look
Jesus must have been pretty familiar with Obadiah, since many of his statements about being judgmental resonate pretty strongly with this short prophetic word. (In fact, Jesus seemed pretty familiar with ALL of the Old Testament, but that’s a whole ‘nother blog!) One of the things Obadiah said could be paraphrased like this: Take a hard look in the Mirror: if you see a judge looking back at you,…

Overcome Evil by The Spirit of The Lord (231) - February 3 2024
Play on other Podcast Apps It is time to go around the mountain once more. We as the Body of Christ must learn to speak to the mountains in the world that need to be removed (Mark 11:23). There are mountains everywhere to be cast into the sea. Mountains of captivity for the souls in Afghanistan. Mountains of sickness and disease in people’s bodies. Mountains of lack. We can use the faith that…

The Arrangement
Summary: You managed to convince Astarion not to go through with the rite of profane ascension. He remains a vampire spawn, and you now offer your blood from time to time to help with his sanguine hunger until a solution is found.
Even though you had both decided to stay as friends back in Moonrise Towers, lines begin to blur once more as other cravings come to the surface… and things with Astarion are seldom uncomplicated.

Pairing: Astarion x female!Tav
Rating: Explicit/18+
Setting: Canon compliant. Post-endgame.
Warnings (will be added as the series progresses): Blood drinking. Pining. Biting. Sexual tension. Mentions of past abuse. Explicit smut.

Revelation 2: Thyatira, Jezebel
Jesus was not concerned that Jezebel was a woman overseer in the church. Jesus was concerned that Jezebel was a bad leader, one who falsely claimed God’s anointing, and led God’s own astray. #Jezebel #Thyatira #Revelation2

Are You On Fire?
One of the things my wife and I love to do is sit in front of our fireplace and watch it, during the few days it is cool enough to run in Texas. Although our fireplace is a gas fireplace and does not consume anything other than gas, it is great to watch. When we can, we also love to have an outside firepit to watch and roast marshmallows on. Fire is something that many people love to watch. It…
