Grian and Mumbo CLEARLY like each other— summoning circles and bothering each other every single day (not so much this season), they genuinely enjoy each other’s company, love being around each other— a good example could be in secret life, Grian’s first task to make bad puns and have no one laugh. And what did he do?? Immediately goes to find Mumbo, despite knowing Mumbo is the world’s giggliest person!! Another one is Mumbo’s complete and total regret when making that deal with Grian for his permits— when he took the bit too far and Grian backed out he felt so bad about it!!

Scar and Grian, I mean. C’mon. We have everything about third life, and then double life— and they have such a fun teasing sort of relationship! They laugh with each other and poke fun and that’s how they are !!! They are NOT bad for each other or mean to each other or anything, they play off of each other and don’t hold grudges for their bits. Like the snails bit, or the on hold bit (all from this season), they’re just ! fun and playful together.

Mumbo and Scar are absolutely wonderful together ! their personalities work well together and they’re so hilarious— i love me a crazy bitch (scar) and the seemingly normal guy said crazy bitch totes around with him (mumbo). That’s not to say Mumbo’s normal, he’s only regular because everyone around him is batshit /j still though! Scar does all his crazy shit, and Mumbo’s along for the ride bc they like hanging out together! Mumbo loves Scar’s builds and takes inspo from them, they based next to each other on magic mountain, they’re just so !!

And let’s not forget !! the buttercups! All of season nine! The fact that they’ve based together every season since Grian’s joined!!!

as for headcanons i. literally could talk for hours about it but my phone is dying and its late,,, so have this short list!!

- Grian falls asleep in the sun SO often and whenever Scar or Mumbo finds him, they just ! join him !

- Scar’s the strongest, Grian’s the lightest, and Mumbo’s the weakest. Grian has hollow bird bones and therefore is really light ! Mumbo just is,,,, such a twink im sorry its gotta be said. He may haul redstone components around but he is NOT buff. Scar is buff okay it just Makes Sense. He can pick both Grian and Mumbo up easy

- Mumbo’s the most easily flustered, and Grian and Scar tag team flirt with him SOOOO OFTEN. It just ends in Mumbo being a red and stuttering mess

- Mumbo also is the worst at flirting— Grian’s the best, and Scar isn’t good at it but his insane demeanor and strange behaviors are so captivating to the other two. Mumbo cant flirt to save his life. He once tried a simple pickup line on Grian and forgot how it went halfway through. He’s tried to flirt with Scar and fell face first into the dirt.

- Mumbo still has insane loserboy rizz and autistic swagger. how??? no one knows! but his nervous demeanor and autistic rizz bagged both scar and grian idk

- The Buttercups was a resistance to Doc, yes, but it was ALSO Grian and Scar inviting Mumbo into their relationship. Mumbo did not realize this until FAR into the buttercups. He was not complaining

- On that note, Grian and Scar were dating first, absolutely. After 3rd life??? there was no way they weren’t. But they saw Mumbo, in all his autism, loserboy, anxiety disorder swagger, and both fell head over heels.

- Mumbo has like. Always been in love with Grian and Scar. Since they became friends, basically. But he was nervous to say anything, and then they were dating, and it was okay! Mumbo was absolutely smitten, but it was manageable. He loved them both so much— it was a bruise that only hurt when you pushed on it. But he loved being around them! He loved being their friend, so it was okay! He was their friend, and he loved them, and he was okay with that

- Of course, they DID love him back. Mumbo just didn’t realize that,,,, for a while,,,,,

The plot of Little Shop of Horrors explained by a new fan who hasn’t watched the movie yet

Hey everybody hey! It had been not that long since I joined the fandom, but I already have a bit of an understanding of the plot. Yeah, here is the Little Shop of Horrors plot explained by me! A person who hasn’t watched the movie!

Now, I am only going over the 1986 movie’s plot.

Okay so our protag is Seymour. He is autistic because I SAID SO. He is loserboy and works at a flower shop, with his gf Audrey and his boss (and possibly father figure) Mr. Mushnik. Seymour has this stupid plant that he found after a TO-TAL E-CLIPSE OF THE SUN (which is a major plot point). The plant is Audrey II! I am using She/Her pronouns for this plant.

Seymour is like “Hey guys! If we want more visitors to our florist shop, we should put this plant on display.” THE STORE IMMEDIATELY GETS LOTS OF COSTUMERS. The store suddenly is now popular.

However, poor Seymour does not fucking know what Audrey II survives on. The answer is blood. Seymour fucking HURTS HIMSELF (f u, roses!) and that’s how he figures out what the FUCK the plant eats.

Some time later, we get introduced to Orin Scrivello, Audrey’s abusive dentist boyfriend. He is not important yet.

So now Audrey II is big! And then Seymour realizes “Holy shit Mushnik is my father figure👍” via musical number. And then Seymour sings about how his life is changing so fast, and how the flower shop is becoming more better and shit.

So then Audrey II says “Feed me!” and Seymour is just like “HOLY FUCK! Twoey you talked!” So now Audrey II is explaining that she is hungry, and Seymour is just like “But you’re an INANIMATE object!” Audrey II is just like “I can talk, and I can move, so I think I can get you a Cadillac.” (That quote was from @lithuanianking’s review of this movie btw!)

So now that Seymour has his first target (which is Orin), we can finally see GAY SEX! Yea. Gay sex happens. Bill Murray appears for five minutes, to have gay sex with the dentist, and then is never seen again.

At some point, Orin accidentally overdoses of that gas and fucking DIES! Is it Seymour’s fault? Idk. But hey at least somebody can be chopped up and fed to a hungry plant!

After Orin is cutely fed to Audrey II, that is where Act 1 of the theatre production ends. And then Act 2 begins. DON’T ASK WHY I AM USING THEATRE TERMS HERE.

So Mushnik thinks Seymour is being suspicious. Mushnik proceeds to be eaten by plant. Some time later, the human Audrey (which she has hardly been mentioned in this entire post) is tricked into being eaten by Audrey II.

Now, this is where the story splits in two. This movie has not one, but TWO endings. I’ll go over the good ending first.

Seymour saves Audrey before she is eaten, and he kills Audrey II by electrocuting her. (“Oh shit!” are Audrey II’s last words. I know because I looked at all the TV Tropes pages for this movie.) And then everybody lives happily ever after.

Okay, time for the bad ending! Both Audrey and Seymour get fucking eated. Oh and capitalism reigns supreme, because Audrey II is being sold everywhere. Death to America happens.

What's the Narrator like in your swap AU?

OOOO hehehe!!

The Narrator is a cringefail little loser (he always has been.) He isn't too different in the au, he's still pro-monster murder, after all! It's just that now he is definitively my interpretation (which is what usually happens.) He's not a liar, per se, but he does omit things that could be considered important, like what the Long Quiet is actually going to do to the world (he just tells you he's going to kill it).

While it's not exactly him, a lot of the lyrics do fit with how he feels to me. He's not anxious, but he is frustrated and anguished. He believes what he is doing is right. And he believes what he is doing is going to save people.

He also isn't even on the Princess' side! The Shifting Mound is death, and he doesn't want that either! Though, he sees the Long Quiet as worse than her, which is why he's in the cabin and she isn't. The Long Quiet is not death like her, but he is the little deaths. Grief, longing, sickness. Whereas she is Love-- gentle, tender warmth, or bright passion, he too is love-- blinding infatuation, or cold, resentful love. And, where she is change, he is stagnation. The Narrator wants none of this, so he does what he does.

And he hopes that maybe the Princess will see it eventually, if she goes through with it.

The Narrator often thinks of the other people he's seen, the ones he's trying to save. He has moments where he wonders what he's doing, and he comes to the conclusion that there isn't a way to go about this that is 'honest', or good. He cannot remove one side of a coin in a way which preserves his morality. But, if the outcome means a happy existence for everyone, isn't this justified?

taisho otome otogobanashi my BELOVED. takes place in the taisho era between a disabled young heir of a wealthy family and the young girl assigned to be his bride. soooo fucking wholesome. very boy but in a very sweet way. really a beloved one for me. 9/10

three days of happiness (manga) - oh my GOD this manga makes me fucking CRY. touching story about a twenty year old guy who's down on his luck and finds out about a service that allows you to sell years of your life in exchange for money. the catch? the mc finds out the worth of his life is abysmally low and decides to sell all of it, save for three months so he can spend the money he earns. he meets with our mc and without spoiling they get to know each other and fall in love. SOOOOOO goddamn sad and sooo good. broke my heart 12/10

OREGAIRU. this anime is Deeply Personal to me for specific reasons irl but i also enjoy it. typical loserboy romance but there's a femboy as well. i love it soooo fucking much and i have forever okay... its so dear to me. it's about our mc who's a cringefail dweeb and his commentary on the myth of "youth" and how unrealistic that is.

the catch is that hachiman our mc actually has a fair bit of emotional intelligence and the story itself always points out that his loserish habits mostly stem from himself and call him on it all the time. i.e. it's not a shounen romance that overlooks those qualities nor romanticizes them and tends to be pretty subversive in it's own way.

the storyline revolves around him, the class president and another girl who have a club where they volunteer and offer advice. in that, hachiman gets to experience 'youth' inadvertently. it makes more sense if u watch but i just. love it So Goddamn Much. it's like peak for the shounen romance subgenre. its honestly not super romance heavy? but it also is. complicated it's 7.7/10 for me if i rate objectively. but a 10/10 if i rate on a personal level.

the fragrant flower blooms with dignity - a story about an intimidating male student and a very adorable young lady who have an interesting first encounter. it's a classic getting together story and its hard to describe what happens w out spoiling but GODDDDDD its soooo fucking cute. so cute i love it soooooo much. its ongoing !! 8/10

yankee kun and the white cane girl - crying screaming throwing up puking about them. a story about a deliquent and a blind girl. the story covers the struggles of disability with SO much nuance and character and the supporting cast have SOOOOOOOO much depth and the love story is so unbearably sweet. its ongoing and one of my faves forever and ever and ever. i love them sooo much. 9/10

We all are used to his bloodlust and being a lone wolf but Double Life forced him into a trustful relationship with another person and since then he showed that side of himself that you only usually get to witness on Empires: the most loyal and faintful person ever. He will start wars and burn the world just to keep those he cares about safe. The thing is, not many people get to see this side of him because they avoid his fire and rushed decisions and spite and bloodlust. Because he is difficult to stay with and he knows it. And yet after finally fully revealing that caring side of himself in Dohble Life, he actually tries his damn best to keep his allies together and save. While dl!Joel was forced by the circumstances to reveal his care, liml!Joel put the effort. The amoubt of times bad boys could fall apart and didn't because Joel stopped the fights is HUGE. And the fact that he 'went insane' after Jimmy's death because he wanted to sacrifice himself to break his buddy's curse is so tragic, so I think that's why him being chased hurts so much; he is just a desperate man blinded by grief and sorrow and desperation, fighting against the world until his last dying breath orz
