@predvestnik: His hands had grown weary from the diversion of feeling along each blade left to his care. They were many, unique, Tartaglia has found it telling of one's personality how thorough their care of these weapons are. His fingertips studied their hilts, the carvings found in metal and wood; he felt how they didn't fit his hold, but certainly matched their true master's.
In the end, the Harbinger capped them carefully, even changed a few that were worn from use and, therefore, too unsafe to be strapped against skin and flesh. The pouch guarding them was nothing special, made of common cloth and a string the Eleventh himself twisted from high quality yarn looping around one of the extremities as means to keep it shut.
❛ They're not my style, ❜ he justified with a boyish smile as company to his voice. The pouch was left on the nearest surface, this being the only intrusion he permitted himself after knocking on the door to the spy Fatuus' dorm. ❛ And who knows what disservice I'd be doing a comrade by depriving them of their claws? I'm sure they yearn for their master's clutch as much as the inverse is true. береги себя, Ambroise. ❜
not many things could surprise Kaeya- by now Ambroise Petrov, a man blending in the Fatui lines.
The Eleventh was one of those things.
it had been a few days since he started walking around with a very peculiar item of dressing- the black and white coat, symbol of the Harbingers, handed to him by Tartaglia personally. his dorm-mates drank up the lie that their favorite superior saw Ambroise trip and ruin his coat, promptly and chivalrously giving the poor fatuus his- and he almost felt sorry as he had to make the story up.
the coat was lovely- yet, he felt strangely naked with it on. it had a few hidden pockets... and no knives.
granted, if his precious daggers had to be the price to keep his disguise, he would have gladly paid so a thousand times over.
and still, Childe manages to surprise him once again.
as he sees the Harbinger himself peer into his dorm, thankfully empty for the time being, Kaeya's eyebrows can't help but almost lift all the way up to the end of his mask- expecially at the seeming gift placed on a furniture, at the return of his weapons like it's the simplest thing in the world to do. there's a moment of brief embarassment, when he's caught with the other man's coat still on- like he stole it, like it's a private situation to sport himself with the slightest of flushes on his cheeks.
there's a moment when he raises to meet Childe- yet, he can't find anything witty to say.
he holds the makeshift pouch in his hold like it's a child, with an hand cradling it close to his chest. there's no doubt that the blades inside of it, pressing snugly against his fingers even from the fabric, with the gentle way the bottom is held just before he looks back up at the other man.
the other man, who just returned his tools of survival like it was the most natural gesture in the world.
' i trust you've treated them well, ' he finds his words again, and that particular brand of soft and playful disrespectful smile that seems directed at the Eleventh and for the Eleventh only. ' they have indeed missed me- and i hope i can find an use for them, soon! ' a soft laughter follows, his mask long discarded on the bed as he was coming to meet his Harbinger. he shows his eyes to Childe without fear- after all, Kaeya thinks...
he thinks that he has found a very good ally.
that- or he's going insane.
and if he is, he'll add to the growing hystery of the situation: ' you should come meet me more often, by the way, ' he teases, an hand applying a gentle pressure on Childe's shoulder to push the other's frame at an height his face can reach...
-he presses soft lips right on his cheek.
it's barely a pressure, a gentle one that leaves a faint, pleasing scent of the cocoa butter he carries, to avoid his lips chapping, on freckled skin- but it's gentle, and warm to boot. after that, Tartaglia is safely released without further harm- perhaps a flutter of his heart, and nothing more.
' thank you, ' it's almost coy, the way Kaeya whispers it in his ear- it borders on bashful, the persistent redness not leaving his cheeks.
' and... береги себя тоже, Childe. '

Wukong, Mk, and Macaque with a very hyperactive + bubbly crush </3
[Mentions of NSFW]
🍑 Wukong 🍑
He always loved how talkative and straightforward you were, he's never seen someone as confident as you before.
When you first met, his first thought was literally just: WOW. This person is A LOT.
Would honestly listen to you for hours even considering that he can get impatient with other people sometimes.
Greet him with a hug, he'll try playing it off all cool and stuff but he lays awake at night thinking about it.
You two go out to the amusement park a lot. And your always dragging him to roller coasters or REALLY fast rides. He's 100% gonna excuse himself to go to the washroom and then throw up. But he loves you too much to ask you to leave.
He notices every little thing you do, like when your sitting down and you start kicking your feet. He's gonna die and come back to life.
As much as an amazing, strong, powerful and supercool (his words, not yours!) Diety he is, when he thinks about you he legit starts twirling around and jumping up and down squealing like he's your biggest fan.
I feel like he's really good at art, so he's gonna ask if he can draw you once in a while. Tell him you love it, and he's just gonna fall for you again. Even better if you hang it up in your house.
When you start dating, you'll feel more comfortable enough to get more relaxed around him, but it still shocks him how behaved you can be if you want to. He's definitely still used to you being all Impulsive and whatnot.
You two are literally the embodiment of eccentric reckless cutie x chill enabler and it works so well for you two.
This immortal fucking GOD is simping over a hyperactive human dumbass and he feels absolutely no shame for it.
Also let's be real, Wukong is the biggest whore known to mankind. So we all know damn well he's had fantasies of pounding that little mortal pvssy until you screamed.
🍜 Mk 🍜
Oh boy oh boy..
YOU TWO ARE LITERALLY MEANT FOR EACH OTHER. PERIOD.
You two gush over everything together, doesn't matter whether it's a show you love or some random shit Mk keeps rambling about like some bootleg illegal ripoff of a Monkey king inspired video game called "MONKE KANG: Asskicker 3D"!!!!!!!!
You both are stupid but you love each other justtt the same <3
In between shifts he'll get caught by Pigsy trying to text you and he'll do it again. And again. And aga-
So much ADHD.. You two get overstimulated being around the other so as much as you don't want, you have to take breaks from seeing him sometimes.
But even with all that energy he has, you still can't get enough of lil' ol' Mk.
He once tried to secretly replace himself with a clone because he wanted to hang out with you but got busy.. You found out right away and yapped about it for 4 hours.
Mk is emotionally unavailable most of the time, so when you two get some alone time, it takes all the strength in him not to confess flat-out because he missed you so so much.
Sometimes he wishes he wasn't the Monkie Kid because it takes time away from being near you. But it's okay, you plan stuff every once in a while.
You got really jumpy and happy when he showed you his Monkey form, and he let you brush his fur for the rest of the day. Now he's like that most of the time because one, he can't really control it. And two, you love his monkey form anyway!
He's definitely thought of fucking you animal-style in that form too.
Have fun being idiots together, the rest of the gang are on literal MISSIONS to keep you two apart.
🎭 Macaque 🎭
Ohhoo he loves seeing that stupidly pretty face of yours whenever you get all excited..
But to be honest, he thought you were REALLY FUCKING ANNOYING at the beginning when he first met you.
He only began to soften up a few weeks or maybe a month or two after realizing how much of a sweetheart you were, and that your hyperactive traits were just a part of what makes you, you.
Sometimes when you're in your room and you're on a call with someone, he'll send one of his shadow clones to listen to your voice for him so he can jerk off to it.
You go to all of his plays, and he's usually a confident guy. But one look at YOU? He's so close to accidentally stuttering on the stage he has to mentally slap himself to make sure not to.
His biggest turn-on is when you wear skirts and you're jumping around all giggly n stuff while he gets the perfect view of your ass.. That's why he prefers to walk beside you or slightly behind you to get that 4k quality.
You two definitely have that Yapper + Listener vibe. You can talk about some absolute bullshit and hell, he'll still be listening to you. But half the time he zones out imagining what that mouth of yours would look like on his cock.
He wanted to buy you roses but got embarrassed (surprisingly) and shoved them up Wukong's ass.
He's a biter. He's such a biter and even while keeping that "friendly" attitude with you, he always finds a way to put his teeth on you. Whether you're fighting over a snack or play fighting. Even during a regular conversation he just bites your shoulder?? Kinky much??? (Yes, he is.)
You found him sleeping on top of your ceiling so you threw a rock at him to wake him up and he started borderline hissing at you like he had rabies. He then realized it was you and didn't speak to you for a whole week.
You make him do things he wouldn't regularly do and it pisses him off.

Howdy and hello! Could you write something platonic for Monkie king and Macaque with a time traveler reader that keeps popping in and out of their life? Like, they live in the present, but every few days they randomly get thrown back in time for a couple weeks?
Of course! I love this prompt so much!!
TimeTraveler
[Macaque & Wukong x GnReader] Platonic!
______________________________________________________________ >🌙☀️The first time you just popped into their life, you bet Wukong screamed like a little girl as you just plopped into existence right in front of him
>Although, once you explained it to both of them they understood completely, you can't tell me that they haven't met another time traveler in their lives before at least once. Do you know how OLD these guys are?????
>It would sometimes frustrate you, since well- you couldn't warn them of stuff like big enemies, like the lady bone demon
>If you did, that could mess up the WHOLE timeline
>🌙Macaque understands you well on that spectrum
>He knows of past, present, and future because of his six ears and he can't try to warn people because it could mess everything up
>So that could be one way you two could bond
>☀️Wukong would be asking you questions 24-7, like, 'how well is Mk doing?' 'does he stay just as cool as he is right now in the future?' 'whats your favorite color?'
>Yeah, he also asks you personal questions, he just wants to get to know you better
>He would also most likely to ask what would happen in the future
>Especially questions that you can’t answer unless you wanted the world to explode
>like- you couldn’t tell him that lady bone demon came back, as well as azure and the others, future fights, matpat retiring, if you did the world would just combust in itself!
>so instead, you would usually change the topic, bringing up something different and safe from the future, like him finding a tasty peach
>he totally saw through it though, but he lets it slide, even though he doesn’t know why you won’t answer some of his questions
>🌙☀️if you were ever frustrated when you got throw back in time for, they would try to comfort you
>Wukong would try to just make you have fun, to make you smile
>he just wants you to be happy when you hang out with him. Please tell him you appreciate every second you guys have together, it means so much to him. It would just make him melt from happiness
>he would save his tastiest peaches for when you pop in, just so you can have some
>Macaque on the other hand, would try to make you appreciate the past, try to make you calm down and slow down
>He doesn’t know for sure, but he can assume that it would be stressful, so he tries his best to make you relax.
>whether that be with a shadow play, or just hanging out, he would enjoy it nonetheless
______________________________________________________________

Heyyy it’s me again. First of all, welcome back! I honestly thought about sending in another message, but didn’t want to intrude. Second of all, I finally got around to reading my request, and I love it. Thank you so MUCH for writing it. 🥹🥹
You could probably guess that I’m a Nezha fan by now. So could I interest you in some Idol!Reader x Nezha? Imagine him stumbling onto one of her performances and being instantly enamoured, and he keeps returning to her shows in a disguise and buying merch…
(Bonus points if MK introduces the two 😉)

— BODY GOT YOU OBSESSED (IRRESISTIBLE!)
𐙚 nezha x idol!reader (went slightly of script, still hope you enjoy!!)
𐙚 CHEE!!! #1 requester (might be my only one atp 🥀)
𐙚 im so sorry it took me long 💔 I got logged out of my account 😭
𐙚 likes and reblogs are always appreciated!

𐙚 I think the first time he would ever notice you, was if one of your songs were playing in the back of Pigsy’s noodles.
𐙚 You were great friends with MK’s little gang, because of this, they would all die to support you! Your music was played in every scenario, and you always had a song perfect for whatever it was they were doing. He’d notice this.
𐙚After a while, he begun familiarising himself with your songs, and just like everyone else, he loved it! (As much as he’d deny it!)
𐙚 As mentioned before, you were familiar with most of the people at Pigsy’s. One day, you managed to secure a day off, and decided to visit all of your closest friends for a catch up, and noodles of course!
𐙚 When you arrived, you caught up with everyone there, but a certain raven-haired man caught your attention. You haven’t seen him before? After some asking, his name was Nezha, and was also friends with everyone here!
𐙚 Unbeknownst to you, he’d already knew who you were, and it took EVERYTHING within him NOT to scream and fangirl. Two weeks after falling in love with your music, he’d managed to see you in real life, and was close with the Monkie Kid? Had heaven decided to finally bless him for once?
𐙚 He tried playing it smooth with you, he really did, bless his fangirl heart. He introduced himself to you as a casual listener of your music (MK screaming “Liar!”) and tried to converse as best as he could with you. He couldn’t help being nervous. Just from hearing your melodic voice was enough to enrapture him. Now, you also had a beautiful face to match? He could die happy on the spot right now!
𐙚 The two of you ended up with a lot more in common, besides your tastes in music. The entire evening was spent with the two of you frequently switching topics onto things you both liked, for example, types of flowers. For a moment, it really felt like it were just the two of you alone. (He wished!)
𐙚 When the night came to an end, he had found you left abruptly, and he wasn’t able to say goodbye! Sulkily preparing to go home, MK quickly caught him before he left, and handed him a piece of neatly folded paper. On the contents of the paper, was your full name, and… your NUMBER!! He had scored your number!! Seems to him like you enjoyed your night as much as he did.

ShadowJadePeach Headcanons:

(Art belongs to @splendentmoon)
How it began:
Things have been rather quiet in Megopolis, no big bads, no world ending disasters, and no celestial shenanigans. Nothing but the occasional mortal losing control of their newly gained power or low level yaoguai looking to make a name for themselves. Something that the entire monkie crew greatly appreciated.
Macaque lounged on his favorite branch of his favorite tree on FFM with a handful of little monkeys. He reflected on the events of the past few months. He and Wukong had begun to mend their friendship, they still struggled to talk without fighting and still couldn’t touch each other without remembering past hurts, but they were making good progress. Macaque even allowed himself to hope that maybe one day they could rekindle their past romance.
Additionally Nüwa had made an appearance. She informed the crew that she wanted to learn more about the world that her son loved so much. She spent a large amount of her time with either MK or Wukong.
Wukong and Nüwa did NOT get along in the beginning. Wukong essentially hated her (for both justifiable and ridiculous reasons). Though surprisingly, it didn’t take long for the two of them to find common ground. Now they’re both very close……………a little too close for Macaque’s liking.
Macaque quickly shook that thought from his head. Nüwa is MK’s mother, of course she was going to be apart of Wukong’s life. And it was a good thing that they were growing close…………………….wasn’t it?
Macaque decided to make a stop at Pigsy’s Noodles, if he was gonna drive himself crazy he wasn’t gonna do it on an empty stomach. He dropped inside a portal and entered the shop, where he was instantly greeted by the entire crew.
Sometime after enjoying his well earned meal, Wukong and Nüwa entered the shop and to his surprise they were hand in hand. After being greeted by the others, Nüwa spoke up announcing a shocking revelation, she and Wukong were a couple. The two go on to explain that they had been together for a while now and had finally decided to reveal it.
The two gods were tackled into a hug by their son, while everyone else congratulated them. Meanwhile Macaque was stunned speechless, never in his wildest nightmares could he ever imagine Wukong falling in love with someone else. But honestly after everything that happened between them, how could he possibly expect Wukong to still have feelings for him.
His heartbeat raced, his throat tightened, and his eyes began to sting. He needed to get out of there immediately. He took a deep breath, put on his best fake smile, and approached the happy couple. In his usual teasing manner, he congratulated the couple, before excusing himself and dropping into a portal.
He landed on the beach and instantly dropped to his knees, letting the tears cascade down his cheeks. He didn’t scream or try to fight off the little monkeys that ran to comfort him, he couldn’t even bring himself to be angry. How could he, he had long since ruined his chance with Wukong, he’d hurt him and MK in so many unforgivable ways, he was lucky the two even wanted to be around him. Meanwhile Nüwa was not only superior to him in strength, charm, and status, she gave Wukong his successor and son MK, the very being he adored the most. So he resigned himself to wallow in the misery of his own making.
A few weeks passed since the incident, Nüwa officially moved to FFM, while Macaque avoided the two lovers as much as possible.
Macaque lounged in his tree in complete silence and misery, until he was approached by Nüwa. She called out to him, concern clear in her voice, wanting to understand why he was upset and avoiding everyone.
Macaque wanted to yell at her, to make her feel an ounce of the pain he was feeling. He turned to look at her, expecting ridicule in her viper eyes. But the moment amethyst met jade all he saw in her eyes was genuine worry, as a result all the anger he felt disappeared.
She asked him again what was wrong, so he decided it was best to get his feelings out in the open, even if it meant the risk of Wukong banishing him from his home.
Macaque explained everything in detail, his still lingering feelings for Wukong, the hope he had for their relationship, and the devastation and anguish he felt as a result of their announcement. He assured Nüwa that he has no intention of coming between her and Wukong, that he intends to leave them be, and simply wants to wallow in peace. He walks off, leaving behind a stunned Nüwa, not noticing the cheeky smile that grew on her face.
Several weeks passed by and Macaque hadn’t seen or heard from either Wukong or Nüwa. Something he was thankful for at the moment.
Suddenly out of nowhere, Macaque found himself tied up in Lao Tzu’s diamond snare. He tried to break free but his shadows wouldn’t respond. He then noticed Wukong out of the corner of his eye, but before he could ask for help, the king grabbed him and threw him over his shoulder, then jumped on his cloud, and headed in the direction of the deep caves.
Macaque struggled vigorously, pleading with Wukong to let him go, but Wukong never responded. The further they went the more panicked Macaque became, fearing what the king will do to him once they reached their destination.
Once they reached a particular cave, Macaque had ceased his efforts, and simply resigned himself to his demise, praying for a swift end.
Wukong soon put him down and rather than cold stone, Macaque found himself on the largest, comfiest nest he’d ever seen. In shock he looked around the cave and was in awe of what he saw.
The cave floor had been lined with fluffy purple carpet, the ceiling was decorated with various lavender veils, fairy lights, and many hanging plants, mostly moonflowers, in one corner laid a book shelf filled with his favorite stories, a station with various art supplies, and a tv set with dozens of dvd’s of various plays, dramas, and musicals, and in another was a large stockpile of his favorite snacks and drinks.
He soon felt shifting in the nest, and felt the diamond snare slip off his body. He turned around to see not only Wukong but Nüwa as well, each holding a small chest in their hands.
Before he could ask, both opened their chests. In Nüwa’s sat three Jade and silver necklaces with fine black silk cords, in the shape of a moon, a sun, and a star. In Wukong’s sat three silver bracelets with charms attached to each, a plum, a peach, and a mango.

(Art commissioned from @6cottoncandysheep9)
In that moment Macaque realized what had happened, he had been courtnapped by Wukong and Nüwa. He stared at the two of them in stunned silence, as Wukong began to explain everything.
His feelings for Macaque had never faded, but for the longest time he felt he had no right to express so. Even after they began to reconcile, he had assumed that Macaque no longer loved him, and settled to simply maintain a friendship. His relationship with Nüwa was unexpected, but he had wanted to give himself a chance to love again. But after Nüwa informed him of Macaque’s confession, he realized he still wanted a relationship with Macaque. So he and Nüwa spent the last few weeks preparing everything.
Nüwa chimed in making it clear that she has no qualms with sharing Wukong with another, especially with Macaque and hopes the two of them can now properly bond together.
Macaque finally finds his voice, and expresses his feelings on everything the two just revealed. He is beyond happy that Wukong still loves him and while he is hesitant about the idea of having to share his king, he believes it’s possible so long as it’s Nüwa. However he’s not ready to be Wukong’s mate again. They still have so much bad blood between them that they need to work through. As well as various other issues to resolve. So, he’d prefer to take things slow.
Not to mention it was unfair that the two of them had time to prepare courting gifts, while he was empty handed.
This got a hearty laugh out of the two gods, who were more than happy to take things at Macaque’s pace.
Wukong takes Nüwa’s hand, lacing their fingers together, he then reaches for Macaque’s hand only to pull back, not wanting to make Macaque uncomfortable. Macaque in response reaches out, not grasping Wukong’s hand, but instead hooking their pinkies together. Giving Wukong a reassuring smile.
The three sat together in comfortable silence, looking forward to what the future holds for them.
Currently:
The trio are a V polycule, with Wukong in a romantic relationship with both Macaque and Nüwa, while Nüwa and Macaque are platonic partners.
The Monkie crew had two bets set up regarding Wukong and Macaque, the first one was for how long it would take the two of them to confess their feelings, and the second was set after Wukong and Nüwa announced their relationship, for how long it would take for the two monkeys to have another falling out (MK won both bets).
Macaque and Nüwa became close friends through gossip, the two will dish about anything and anyone for hours on end, though most of the time it’s just Macaque retelling the adventures of his youth with Wukong while Nüwa listens intently.
The two also bonded by organizing Wukong’s “treasure” room, and generally repairing the stone palace, restoring it to its original glory.
Nüwa is aware of the fact that Macaque is FtM, though in her case, she knew from the moment she saw him, as the creator of monkeys she can notice the minute differences that others don’t and that Macaque doesn’t bother to disguise (she informed him she knew).
Macaque and Nüwa don’t have nicknames for each other, but Macaque will usually refer to Nüwa as his gossip bud, while Nüwa will refer to Macaque as her sister-wife (which he actually doesn’t mind).
All three have a taken a specific role in MK’s training, Wukong teaches combat, Macaque teaches strategy, and Nüwa teaches magic.
Wukong and Macaque still have their occasional fights, with Nüwa standing at the side, not interfering, but still trying to mediate.
Whenever the fights get particularly intense, Nüwa will wrap her tail tightly around the two and press their ears over her heartbeat, to help them calm down and recenter themselves.
When Macaque gets injured/sick, Wukong and Nüwa act as his doctors, though they have a tendency to go overboard.
If Macaque is preparing for a new performance, Wukong and Nüwa will immediately offer to create the stage sets and props.
When Wukong goes through another self loathing mood, Macaque and Nüwa will start flirting/complimenting him nonstop, if that doesn’t work they drag him to their nest and cuddle with him for the rest of the day.
Whenever someone flirts with any of the trio, Nüwa will always keep her partners from attacking them, citing that the fools aren’t worth their time.
However if someone insults or gets handsy with any of them, Nüwa is immediately ready to end the offender’s life, and she’s very graphic with her threats.
The trio have three separate date nights every week.
Wukong and Nüwa’s date nights are at home study dates and art projects.
Macaque and Wukong’s date nights are always in quite, uncrowded places, such as the park, the library, and mom and pop shops/resturants/cafes, though they do make an exception for the theater and the movies.
Their group dates can be summarized as Nüwa wanting to experience/explore a new thing/place while Wukong and Macaque tag along as her bodyguards.
These dates usually end in the trio being attacked by stubborn yaoguai or being run out of the place, and the trio spending the rest of it at Pigsy’s, while MK scolds his parents for their recklessness.
While it’s still a long while coming, Macaque has already prepared a courting gift for his partners, a trio of silver rings with (Mihou♥️Wukong♥️Nüwa) engraved on them.

Fanbinding Masters of Mayhem - a Ninjago and Lego Monkie kid crossover!!!

FINALLY after weeks of putting the project on the shelf i finally have the (motivation) free time to complete this amazing bookbind!!! Shoutout to my best friend who came to me and ask if i could bind it. So what better birthday gift than to bind her current favourite crossover story? At the time of this post i have not given the gift to her yet so fingers crossed that she likes this 🤞😖
Thank you FictionForLife_NZ for creating this absolute hilarious masterpiece!! I have been wanting to read an LMK crossover fic for the longest time and low and behold, the ao3 algorithm has answered my prayers lol. Me and best friend really love the character interaction that the Ninja’s have with the LMK crew 😂. Also the shipping!! Best friend absolutely LOVES dragonfruit but was sad that they didn’t have as much of a fandom dedication as opposed to spicynoodles. So imagine her suprised (and scream) that dragonfruit is the main pairing in the story and their many iconic moments together!! Also the climax truly had me at the edge of my seat!! And that ending?? Gosh couldn’t have asked it better myself Ninjago writers really should take notes ✍️!!! Anyways enough rambling here’s the fic if you would like to give a read, absolute 10/10
Flip through

Some close ups
also yes excuse me and my terrible phone and room lighting it did not do this book justice.
Unfortunately I couldn’t find any fanart that was related/tagged so there was no illustrations for the book. However thats when i had the idea of making the chapter title in the same font as the Ninjago font! To make it seem like every new chapter is an episode!
Also unfortunately couldn’t tag the author since i can’t find their tumblr. If any of you know if said author does have tumblr please let me know!
If you’re all curious on how i make this, i recommend going to the first bookbinding project that i did, its all the same process except with some new improvements that im gonna talk about under the cut
I definitely learned a lot from my mistakes from the last time that i did this, and of course gain new mistakes as well 🥲.
The edges aren’t trimmed
The cover isn’t aligned
The printing for the covers are garbage
Book would not lay flat, instead forever stuck at a weird 120 degree angle
Overall a lot of stuff
This was a given by the fact that i have no experience and was impatient. But since this is a gift for Best Friend ofc this has to actually look good, so here are the improvements that i made
Signature printing— i will admit it took some time and effort but after the old cannon printer finally died permanently jammed, managed to convince parents to buy a more advanced and better printer that can now do double sided printing!! No more wasted signatures from here on out 😮💨
Cover printing — not wanting a repeat of the last time that i did it i went to my local Officeworks to get it printed by them. Here i discovered the beauty that is known as ✨Poster Prints✨. Now all of my yellow lines and elements actually do show an pop against the darker background!! Unfortunately this does have a drawback because the prints are sensitive to any type of scratching. Not the scratch and all the colors come off way, more like the scratch it and lines will show up kind of way as you can really see in the front cover :') . Will work on improving this is future projects.
Trimming the edges — originally in book one i trimmed the edges using your typical box cutter and cut it myself. Bad BAD idea i was doomed at that moment. So imagine my surprise the Officeworks ALSO do CUTTING service!!! My jaw dropped and i immediately went back the next day with my text block and asked them if they could trim all edges. After some inspection they put it through the guillotine and all of my edges are perfectly trimmed. Saved me all the time, money, and storage.
Laying book flat — this was definitely the biggest pet peeve that I have with my first book. The way i do it now is i now put a one cm gap between the front cover, side cover and back cover. And also using the right paper (cardstock) to connect the text block with the covers. Now the book can actually fully open!!!
Cover alignment — I printed out the front and back in regular paper and use that as a template on where i wanna fold the prints to find the cover. Worked like a charm
once again shoutout to best friend for giving me the brilliant idea when making the covers!! had it not been for her to point out about clause's book of spells i would have never made the coolest cover page that I've made in my entire binding experience!! all in all im pretty dang proud of myself for being able to improve on my bookbinding skill.

"ah, I've said it at last, and its not a lie: I love you"
So I got inspired by a fic by @kai-keda: https://archiveofourown.org/works/34564729/chapters/86039221#workskin
"...wow."
"Thank you." Red Son couldn't help a satisfied smile at the word. His sort-of uncle was right. A dramatic speech was one of the best ways to confess! (Not that he would actually say that ever to Macaque.)
"So..." Qi Xiaotian rubbed the back of his neck as he hovered in the windowsill of the window Red had broken, promptly before being kicked out onto the fire escape. He had one of those sweet, brilliant smiles on his face, the one that screamed inward joy. "How long did you work on that?"
Hm? Red raised a brow. "A few hours," he lied. It was more like a few days, researching and figuring out how to properly say everything. That didn't take into account the weeks and months he spent mulling on why the Monkie Kid made his heart squeeze whenever he saw that sunshine-soaked smile, or one of the hundred other little things. He shook the thought away. "So, may I court you?"
Before Xiaotian could speak, there was a boom inside the apartment. "Who the fuck says I love you when asking a person on a date?!"
"...why is the Dragon Girl here?"
Xiaotian's smile grew a touch wider. "That's why I was asking. We're having a sleepover tonight." He tapped his finger against the windowsill. "I thought you weren't gonna come."
...wait.
Red pulled out his phone. Despite his complaints, he made sure to mark every event together on his calender. Like the sleepover marked on it, one which started three hours ago, but knowing this dup, probably began hours before.
"...ah." Red set his phone down. "I'm so sorry."
"It's not your fault." Before he could think too heavily on that, Xiaotian leaned forward. One of those hands, callused from years of work, cupped his face. "And, for the record, I would be overjoyed if you courted me."
Warm lips brushed his cheek, and Red was suddenly forgetting that he was late.

Lost To The Flames
The first fic for @lunar-wandering's Monkie Destiny Challenge! I am doing 8 prompts per "week", sometimes using both prompts per day and sometimes just one. This one includes:
Beginning/End, Fire, Patience, Thief (sort of), Shatter, Fear, Truth, Mountain/Chains
AO3 Link!
Sun Wukong remembered how most of his reality ended: in a burst of green flame and a laugh of triumph that quickly turned turned into screams that “this wasn’t part of her Destiny”.
Sun Wukong remembered hearing this from far away, like he was trapped in a glass bowl. Not quite able to do anything about it and yet wanting to all the same. And then he was moving. And then everything was in perfect sight and all too clear.
And then he felt the flames.
He still felt the flames.
He would always feel the flames now.
He sort of remembered a time where the flames didn’t burn his skin, when he still had fur on his entire body. It didn’t matter that large chunks of it were gone now, he would still be warm in this world without it. And there was some relief from the burning, thanks to Lao Tzu.
Quite frankly, Sun Wukong was amazed that man didn’t seem to hold a grudge after he ransacked his lab all those centuries ago. But maybe that was him expecting the worst. Or maybe Lao Tzu was able to see the bigger picture and recognize than some old grudges were pointless to keep in the state of the world as it was now.
It was… gone.
Not entirely, of course, but the world as it was… the mortal world, at least, was gone. Destroyed in that burst of green flames of the Samadhi Fire than Mei wielded against her wishes.
It wasn’t Mei’s fault.
If there was only one truth all the survivor’s agreed on it was that it wasn’t Mei’s fault.
No one expected her to control it, not after that.
Macaque blamed the Lady Bone Demon. Why her specifically and not the Great Sage, who stood by and watched it happen in an instant, Sun Wukong did not know.
The celestials (most of them) blamed Sun Wukong.
He couldn’t exactly argue with them. He blamed himself after all.
Not that they wanted to (or could) do anything about it, now that there was almost nothing outside the Celestial Realm to protect now. Even a good portion of that had been lost to the flames, chunks of it far from the Jade Emperor’s palace still burning even decades later.
Sun Wukong wondered if MK would blame him too. But he could no longer ask.
MK hadn’t been awake for a long time, trapped in some kind of… not exactly a coma. A sort of limbo state. Alive while completely unaware and asleep, requiring nothing to sustain him. It was a mystery that no one could quite solve. Was it the power of the fire? Was it something else? No one knew for sure.
No one was even sure this was all the fire’s doing in the first place.
It was so… odd. Yes, the Samadhi Fire was said to have the power to destroy reality. And clearly it destroyed parts of it. But there was something else to this, almost like some element of chaos added to the mix that almost changed things. Maybe it was Mei’s own will and control of the fire, maybe it was something else… but some things survived. Some changed.
Not everything was gone. Just most of it.
Most of the mortals were killed, which was something to be expected, but many somehow survived. The ones important to Mei or farthest away from it all.
And they seemed trapped in time.
Sun Wukong supposed that if the fire could destroy reality, destroying the passage of time wasn’t out of the question.
It did mean that MK, should he ever wake, would be spared waking to learn that his friends and family had passed over the 100 years since the calamity. But it also did mean the mortals were getting… antsy.
Sun Wukong watched on from his position in the Celestial Realm, as Tang and Pigsy went through the motions of gardening on their little outcrop of spared land. Every day it was the same. Wake up, breakfast, garden, check on their friends, have lunch, evening activities, dinner, sleep. Pigsy had taken up attempting to invent new types of food while Tang, no longer able to only keep up his scholarly activities due to boredom, had taken to writing.
Sandy made to sail off every few months, see how the rest of the world fared and bring back what he could. He had become a very accomplished tradesman in the meantime.
The Demon Bull family had taken to housing travelers and refugees from the calamity. It seemed to be an unheeded calling they had missed before. Red Son…
He helped when he could.
But he was almost always with Mei.
No one had the heart to tell him to leave her be.
Sun Wukong sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. When had he last slept? He couldn’t recall. He didn’t exactly NEED to sleep that much given his immortality. Besides, he would rather keep up with his new position.
Oh the irony…
He once rebelled against this realm for giving him a made up title and a low ranking job. Now he had a job that meant nothing, gave him no real duties, and another made up title that gave him one of the highest ranks.
Perhaps it was Erlang Shen trying to avoid a second Havoc event. Or, perhaps, he felt pity for Sun Wukong and wanted to make him feel special.
Either way, Sun Wukong’s job was to observe and document the mortal and celestial realms. That was it. He was given the title of Observer of the Calamity, a title that meant nothing at all. Erlang Shen claimed it would give him a ranking just below himself, the new Jade Emperor, and would put him as a sort of advisor role to him. One of the highest ranks in the entire Celestial court.
It meant nothing.
A lot meant nothing now.
Outside the fire that still burned under his skin.
“You should go to them,” a voice suddenly called out behind him. Sun Wukong would have jumped, had he not expected this voice like clockwork. Nezha continued, laying a gentle hand on the sage’s shoulder, careful to avoid a burnt patch of skin. “You know you’re not obligated to trap yourself here.”
“I know,” Sun Wukong said, barely looking away from the realm. He did reach out, patting the Lotus’s Prince’s wrist with his tail to acknowledge the touch on his shoulder. His hands were busy writing everything down. They ached horribly. “But-”
“Please,” Nezha asked softly. Too softly. Sun Wukong missed the days when he would grow mad at the elder, when he would snark and scream and berate him. Now he just looked at him with pity. It was worse than hate. “Visit them. You deserve SOME freedom from your duties. It would be good for you all.”
“Wow,” Sun Wukong said with a heavy laugh. “Never thought I would hear the Lotus Prince himself ordering his superior to take a break.”
“Asking,” Nezha corrected. “As a friend.”
Well… how could he say no to that?
Sun Wukong sighed, standing with a stretch.
“Only because a friend asked me,” he said. “I… have been meaning to visit Mei this year anyway.”
“I feel like…” Nezha trailed off. “I feel like today is the day to go. I don’t know why. I just do.”
“Even if it’s just her talking to me? That would be enough,” Sun Wukong said with a nod. Mei had not talked to him for multiple yearly visits, too busy in her focus to even recognize his presence. It was apparently like that for most of the year, according to Red Son. “Maybe we’ll be lucky and SOMETHING will change this time!”
“Let’s hope,” Nezha said with a smile.
Sun Wukong did not expect the hug he was assaulted with as he made to leave his observatory… but he would be lying if he regretted letting go of his friend to leave.
Even the pain of contact on his burns meant nothing against the first contact he had in the last month locked away of his own will, mental chains in a new mountain of his own making.
~
He tried not to think of the screams.
Not to think of the fire.
Not to think of Mei weeping over MK’s body.
Not to think of the shard of ice or crystal or whatever it was that the Lady used that jutted from his chest, tinged in a red that shouldn’t be there.
Not to think of how badly he wanted to destroy the Lady Bone Demon before Mei took that honor for herself.
Not to think of the look of fear and then the smile on MK’s face as he assured them he would be ok.
Not to think of everyone screaming as Mei screamed, the fire burning harder and brighter and then everything… burning.
Not to think how, out of everyone there, only himself was burnt by the flames as he made to grab Mei to stop her, and how his hands ached and burned and how she looked at him in anger and sadness and then regret when she registered what she did.
He tried not to think of any of this as he neared the site of the world’s demise, only three figures in sight among the still burning flames. Two sitting and one laying down.
Perhaps one day things will change.
Perhaps one day MK would wake from his limbo slumber.
Perhaps one day Mei could finally, properly, rest for more than a couple hours at a time.
Perhaps one day they could all be together again, Sun Wukong finally counted in their group as a friend properly.
Perhaps one day he would be able to visit Mei without the fear of her disappointment in her lack of progress rebuilding the world (though he could see how she had improved so much little by little and would tell her every visit).
Perhaps one day they could both smile at each other and mean it.
As the three talked amongst each other, the first time all three had been able to in years, unbeknownst to them all a fourth’s hand twitched.

A Bone to Pick (Chapter Preview)
Siblings siblings siblings siblings
“What do you mean you don’t know how to make a flying cloud?” Bai He asked incredulously. “That’s like, the most basic Monkey King power there is!”
“I know, I know!” MK said sheepishly, hopping from one roof to the next. “It’s trickier than it looks, you know.”
“What’s so tricky about stand on cloud and fly?” Bai He narrowed her eyes at the hero. “Have you even been trying to learn how to master it?”
“Of course I have!” MK told her.
One Week Ago
“Ok bud,” Monkey King told MK, “it’s just like riding a skateboard. The most important thing you can do is to stay on the board, er, cloud.” The simian monarch reached over and adjusted the red helmet on MK’s head. “Keep both feet on the cloud at all times, and just focus on riding down the track. Got it?”
“Got it!” MK responded eagerly. He was wearing a bright red helmet and matching knee and shoulder pads. The Monkey King had been particularly excited to teach his successor this trick, as it was one of his favorites. They were starting simple. Just ride down the track and slow down at the bottom. Easy peasy!
Monkey King had even made a special track just for the occasion. He had gone out the night before and flattened the side of a mountain, smoothing it out to a nice, polished shine. The mountain itself, while definitely not the tallest mountain in all of Monkey King’s domain, was definitely tall enough to pass the height the average bird flew at.
MK smiled like a little kid in a candy store, glancing down excitedly at the large, foreboding track before him. He was bouncing in place like a video game character standing in place or a honky-tonk cartoon character at the start of a walk-cycle. Monkey King smiled fondly at his successor, his enthusiasm very infectious.
“Alright, you ready, bud?”
“You know I am!”
“Okaaay,” Monkey King pulled his arms back and then thrust them out. Pushing MK off the side of the mountain and onto the track like a dad giving their child their first push-off on their big kid bike. “Le-go!”
“Woo-hoo!” MK cheered. As the Monkie Kid hovered in the air for that one second before gravity kicked in, he had a sudden realization.
For all of his and Monkey King’s excitement about teaching him how to ride a cloud, MK realized his mentor never once showed him how to summon the cloud. MK felt his heart drop into his stomach. Then, he felt gravity starting to kick in.
“Uh-oh.” MK dropped like a stone into the water, letting out a terrified scream as he did. Monkey King’s eyes widened in horror, the realization of his mistake hitting him a second after it had hit MK.
“Hold on, bud! I’m coming!” Monkey King cried out before zipping down the track after MK.
Present Day
“It just… hasn’t been going all that well, y’know…” MK avoided Bai He’s judgemental glare.
“Pfft, doubt.” The little girl scoffed, thoroughly unimpressed.
“Oh, ok, little missy! Let’s see you try and summon a mystical cloud and ride it around like a skateboard, see how easy it is for you.”

Uneasy Situation
( New Tail in town ) ( Oc x Wukong x Macaque )
sorry for the grammar mistakes
"I still don't get it" he mumbles disappointed, sitting on the ground, crayons all around the legs, arms cross on his chest, and a pouted expression on his face. As always, he had tons of colorful drawings near, representing his favorite hero, some of his friends and even complex places. As time had passed, as his skills had grown up and now he was able to do absolute masterpiece with his two hands. Of course nobody in the restaurant heard his complaints, he was next to the stairs, in the dark, to hide himself. From What ? For What ? Well, some days ago the young Monkie kid had received an important mission from his two mentors. A mission, including spying a stranger.
Spying the new staff his father, the boss of Pigsy's noodles, had hired almost two weeks ago. Indeed, the new staff was an unknown Monkie demon with strange features. She didn't look like any Chinese Monkie demon that they knew. She seemed experimented, Gray fur spreading on her mane, so she might be old too. So far she had had a gentle attitude towards everybody in the restaurant and didn't act like a threat to the city. She came soon the morning, and quitted the restaurant when the day was over. Like a normal employee would do. The evening after their first meeting, MK had run like a tornado to Flower Fruit Mountain. Running to his mentor at the same time as he didn't watch where he was bursting.
Flashback -
"Ouch! MK watch out you almost broke me a rib." Let out Sun Wukong, his body on the ground, a paw posed on his chest and his eyes frown with the hit he just received. MK was on his four, panting hard because of the effort he just give. Sweat on his front.
"Why are you here so late? We don't have training today, or I should say tonight." He asks while getting up, puffing his cape and the feathers that laid on his mane.
"Monkie King !" "There's a new…. a new…" Said the boy loudly, unable to catch his breathe.
"A New what?" Wukong's enthusiasm wasn't the best because of some previous fight he had with a certain Shadow Monkie. He was supposed to see him tonight to talk about it, and MK was upsetting his plans.
" A New Monkey demon !!!" Scream MK.
The Great sage golden eyes open widely at those words. A New monkey demon? Those words hitted hardly in his head.
A New Monkie demon.
A Monkie demon...
A Monkie Demon !
He repeat himself as an idea cross his mind. A monkey demon from his past?! From his troop? Maybe from his troop?! Maybe it was a monkey that had survived the heavenly war!!!! Blood in his veins shotted his whole body as surprise gave place to excitement.
"What do you mean a new monkey demon! How do they look like?! Are they from here?! What's their name ?!" Wukong couldn't help but jump fast on his student, holding MK's arms with his fingers, his tail still.
"Hu… Well" Caught off guard. MK didn't know how to respond. "Their… She… Hu…".
"She? That's a female one?" Sun Wukong's brain race as he thinks of every female Monkie demon he knew in past times. Soon, the faces of his past friends come to him and he couldn't help but feel himself smile widely. "How does she look like?"
The boy swallows his thoughts, he had race the whole path to prevent from any threat, he wasn't gonna loose it now. "She's smaller than you, but taller than Mei, her mane is yellow but not the same yellow everywhere. And she has black tips.
"Black tips ?"
"Yeah, she has a really long tail, not roundish like yours."
That portrayal soon caught Wukong's smile and his happy sight. That portrayal was unfamiliar to him. He thought of a sort of Macaque at first, but the long tail details did not correspond. She wasn't a Gibbon either, maybe a Snub-nosed monkey? He knew some of them in the past.
"Does she have a blue mask and black eyes?"
"Nope her mask is grey with blue eyes."
"Blue eyes ?" Sun Wukong wince to that detail, he didn't know any monkey with blue eyes, it was something unlikely. "You sure ?"
"One hundred percent !"
"That's strange."
The two, student and mentor, turn their head to the voice in the deep dark of the cave, some glowy golden eyes with a hint of purple came across the shadow as would do Panthera's one. Coming out, a black furred monkey appear, a long cape following his steps.
"Macaque!" Claim MK as he reaches his second mentor happily. It's been quite long since those two had seen each other.
"Hey Kiddo. How're you doing ?" He asks, a smile upon his face at the view of his favorite student. He might not say it enough, but he really liked that kid.
"Actually not so great. I've been replaced at Pigsy's noodles, Mei is always busy and everybody is supper occupied with themselves ! I kept having flies in my place and they have cancelled Monkie King police series on the TV ! Did I said that I've been replaced at Pigsy's noodles ?!".
Waving his arms in the air as a bird will do, MK was clearly overwhelmed by his environment and the changes in his life.
"Alright kid, calm down you're gonna faint yourself if you don't catch up." Advice Macaque, a little bit worried. His glaze met Wukong's one, and for some concise seconds a quiet brief was told between the two of them. A brief about apologies and regrets. It was stupid to be angry with the other. Hopefully there wasn't any rage in the warrior's pupils, just a calm and familiar expression that Wukong loved deeply.
The Great Sage smirk and reach them, his arms crossed and his stand cool.
Then the three speeches about that new demon and MK tell his mentors everything he knew about her, her name, attitude, personality etc…. They decide not to confront her right now, MK will spy her and make proper portrait-robot of her and try to reunite some information about her.
At some point, MK went back to his home, using Macaque's Portal, letting those two together. Wukong yawn loudly, it was late in the night and he had been up for a long time today.
"Tired ?"
"Hmm.A little…"
Awkward silence in the mountain, as they didn't know what to say. Plus the fact that they had another concern now with that Li Wei lady. Macaque looked at Wukond, he, in fact, looked tired, he might not have slept in the night because of their fight, thought the warrior. Which made him feel regrets. Their fight was stupid, around the same topics as always. They didn't know how to say to each other what they felt inside.
Communication weren't their highlight.
"I'm sorry… For yesterday." Say Wukong, his eyes on the ground.
Macaque's ears upped a little at those words, touched by the strength that he knows his king had to pull to declare those words. He was still pretty prideful after all these years.
"It's okay." He replies simply, out of words.
And then the uncomfortable silence came back. Swinging his arms, embarrassed, Sun-Wukong let out another yawn, even stronger than the last one, cursing himself at the same time for his manners.
"I'm gonna let you rest." Tell Macaque, walking to the exit of the cave, back to the shadow.
"Wait- I…" Start the orange Monkie before cutting himself. Loosing his tense stand with a sight. It wasn't worth it "Have a great night." He merely says with a weary smile.
"Good Night Wukong."
And as the Moon gets higher in the sky, as the shadow of the warrior grows far away from the mountain where the sun lived. Unaware that some long constellation could be seen in the sky too.
Everything was complicated…

I've been meaning to write something in response to the spider Wukong design that @winterpower98 and @ninja-knox-ur-sox-off have drawn for my Spider Monkie AU! Also features my ship with this AU of Wukong/Spider Queen/Macaque. So here you go!
But content warning for body horror and brief descriptions of blood! Also has brief spoilers for the season 2 finale.
It felt almost like the end of era to Spider Queen when she and the others ventured back down to their old home to start cleaning things out without the threat of the Lady Bone Demon looming over them all. It was one thing for her to start living on Flower Fruit Mountain with the idea in mind that it is a temporary arrangement but this made it feel all the more permanent to her. The idea of never having to live in the ruins, the constant reminders of her fallen reign, and instead live surrounded by greenery, sunlight, and fresh air…
Well, it made the scars, angry and red from where her skin met the scalding liquid of the brazier, not as difficult to look at.
It was enjoyable in a sense, going through her things for moving. Old spell books, faded robes, half finished blueprints. Having Wukong and Macaque there certainly helped, the two monkeys providing their own brand of commentary that never failed to get a chuckle or exasperated groan from her.
Though that changed once they inevitably had to start clearing out the lab.
Syntax, understandably, chose to start transporting things back to the mountain at that moment, Goliath and Huntsman making the decision to go with him. The former because he was concerned about leaving Syntax alone with how shaken he looked and the latter… well even now, Spider Queen couldn’t quite understand those two’s dynamic. They certainly weren’t as antagonistic towards each other like they used to but that didn’t leave them bickering any less than before.
Even though Spider Queen had long since adjusted to the constant gnawing of guilt, it definitely felt like a jab to the gut to see Syntax as he hurried to leave and be back above ground. Far away from the lab and the memories that came with it.
He was in such a hurry that he had not noticed the screwdriver which he had left on the ground.
A gentle prod from Macaque snapped her out of it.
“Hey, c’mon, let’s get through this old junk quick before someone else gets any ideas, okay?”
She could still hear his screams when the experiments were at their worst. How he was barely coherent afterwards, looking so small and vulnerable as she did her best to make sure he was comfortable. How the pain persisted despite the experiments being a “success” and the burning hatred in the Monkey King’s eyes as he glared her down with Macaque in his arms.
“Right, yes, of course,” she mumbled. Macaque was about to say more before all four of his eyes went wide at the sight of something behind her. Spider Queen turned as quickly as she could with her mechanical spider legs and nearly had a heart attack at the sight of Wukong picking up an unused glass tank of her venom that was twice his size.
“Wukong, for all that is heavenly, be careful with that!”
“I got it, I got it! Don’t worry, I’ve carried heavier things than this,” he said as if that actually made either of them feel any better.
To his credit, he kept his balance and grip on the tank well enough that Spider Queen and Macaque felt like they could breathe.
Until he stepped on the same screwdriver that Syntax had accidentally left behind in his rush to leave.
And try as he might, Wukong couldn’t right his balance in time.
Spider Queen swore the world had gone into slow motion in that moment.
The Monkey King landed flat on his back, eyes going wide in horror at the sight of the tank right on top of him. Before he could even move, the tank landed on his body with the glass casing shattering on impact. Without thinking, Spider Queen grabbed Macaque and leaped until they were on the ceiling, far from the reach of the spider venom as it spilled all over Wukong and the lab floor with nothing to contain it anymore.
For a brief moment, they were both silent in horror as Wukong remained motionless before jolting upwards, coughing up a storm.
“Oh gross, I think it got in my mouth!” He sputtered in outrage and Spider Queen let out a sigh of relief. He was still cognizant and not a mindless slave, that was a good sign that the venom didn’t work that way without the spider robots. Perhaps it had become less potent, simply left down here without anyone to maintain it?
That didn’t stop her from insisting that she or Syntax look him over for any possible side effects back on Flower Fruit Mountain, despite the Monkey King’s protests that he was fine. Though, eventually, he caved in.
And to her great relief, there didn’t seem to be any.
“See, what did I tell you? Everything’s fine and I’m fine. You don’t gotta worry about me, that energy is better spent somewhere else.” His eyes wandered towards Macaque as he said that. The monkey demon in question was trying and failing to hide the pain on his face as he rubbed at his back. Spider Queen conceded on that as it looked like she was going to have to brew another muscle relaxer for Macaque and just her luck, they just ran out of the last batch.
“Fine, then help me expend that energy by helping me get the herbs for Macaque’s medicine,” she grumbled, running a hand through her choppy hair. It was still strange, having her hair cut so short to what was a pixie cut, but it was… a welcome change. It also being that way MK did for her while she was recovering and extremely uncomfortable with her hair touching her burn scars helped but… no need to say it out loud.
Wukong followed her lead without any complaint, yet stopped for a second when he felt a weird twinge in his sides. The call of Spider Queen snapped him out of it and rushed to follow her. Yet in the back of Wukong’s mind, he couldn’t help but wonder if that wasn’t just a random pain in his sides.
Almost felt like…
Like something was squirming underneath his skin.
‘Eh, it’s probably nothing to worry about.’ He thought to himself, reaching behind him to scratch at a sudden itch on the back of his neck.
Days passed like normal after that, the permanent move to Flower Fruit Mountain a success, much to his monkeys' chagrin. They were just beginning to warm up to Goliath and were able to be around the others without Wukong having to stop them from pelting the spider demons in fruit. Typically by reminding them that, like it or not, they were also MK’s family and asking them if they wanted to make MK upset by throwing fruit at his mother and “uncles”. That usually did the trick.
Good thing too since Wukong was starting to notice he was feeling… off.
The twinging at his sides had only seemed to worsen in the following days, the sensation escalating from only happening once every two days to it happening three times a day. And while they didn’t become painful, each time it felt like there was more… force behind them every time they happened.
The ignored voice in the back of his head compared it to something almost trying to poke its way free.
Eventually, these “episodes” were enough to stop Wukong from whatever he was doing to try and catch his breath once his sides calmed down. He figured it was only a matter of time until one of his partners confronted him about it. This time being Macaque.
It helped that he had caught Wukong during another one of his “episodes”, this one enough to make him stumble his footsteps and make Macaque rush to catch him before the Monkey King fell ungracefully to the floor.
“Alright Wukong, what’s going on with you?”
A part of Wukong wanted to insist that it was nothing but a passing thing. But passing sensations don’t last this long.
Something was wrong.
“Remember when I dropped that vat of Queenie’s spider venom on me and she didn’t find anything wrong with me?” Horrifying realization came to Macaque’s face at that question, all four of his eyes immediately looking over Wukong for anything out of the ordinary.
“I don’t like where this is going Peaches.”
“Well… a bit ago I started feeling something odd in my sides. Like somebody was poking me. It didn’t really hurt so I thought it was no big deal and would go away on its own, y’know? It… it hasn’t gone away. In fact it’s been happening more often and getting stronger.” As he spoke, Wukong lightly rubbed at his sides, not looking directly at Macaque out of guilt.
“Peaches, I love you, but why didn’t you say something sooner?”
“I thought I could handle it on my own! And we have more important things to worry about than me, like you and Queenie, y’know the people who aren’t indestructible and-” He was cut off by a light smack behind the head from Macaque, the demon looking exasperated and frustrated more than anything else.
“You idiot, just because you’re indestructible doesn’t mean that you should have kept this from SQ and me. God, you sound like the kid. We have no idea how the venom could impact your systems compared to me and now who knows what we’ll find. C’mon, we’re having Queen look at you again, no arguments.”
Wukong couldn’t find it in himself to protest. Only hope that it was merely them all being paranoid and stressed.
Those hopes promptly went out the window when Spider Queen had him take off his shirt.
On each side of his torso underneath his arms were two pairs of lumps, each the size of his palm and seemed to almost twitch when she had cautiously prodded at them to feel for bone. He was worried for a moment that everyone was going to see the peaches he had just eaten as nausea squirmed within his stomach.
“This is not good, pretty sure these same exact kind of bumps developed too when we…” Spider Queen trailed off, eyes lingering on Macaque who didn’t need to say anything to show that he understood what she meant. “But this doesn’t make any sense, it took weeks for them to develop at this stage and yet it’s been little more than a week, barely two.” She looked extremely frazzled, trying to make sense of this. Syntax didn’t look any better himself, lime green hair a tousled mess compared to its usual put-together appearance.
“It could be a case of biology, my queen. Wukong’s biology is… incomprehensible to put it politely. With all the methods put into extending his immortality and Macaque’s own biology, it would be pointless to try and compare them and their reactions to the venom. And with how fast these limbs seem to be developing in comparison, it may have already been too late to use the antivenom the moment his skin made contact and he ingested the venom,” he rambled yet Wukong didn’t miss the look of sympathy sent his way at that final statement.
Wukong felt numbness, not sure how to process knowing it was too late for him from the get go.
The sensation of something squirming hitting him again and knowing that it was new limbs developing right under his ribs only made his nausea worse.
He barely noticed Macaque gently pulling him into a hug until his face was buried in coarse purple fur, four arms holding him while the monkey demon nuzzled his cheek.
“Hey, look on the bright side, Peaches. It’s looking like you won’t be growing any new eyes like me. Can’t get any worse than that, right?” Wukong could only give him a small, fond smile that could not even begin to communicate his exhaustion, fear, but relief that Macaque was at least trying to comfort him. For a brief moment, he felt a bit calmer and wasn’t bathed in dread about what was inevitably about to come.
That temporary peace was shattered the moment Wukong felt a stabbing sensation in his sides.
A pain which only seemed to intensify by the second.
He had to leave. Now.
“I-I’m so-sorry, I have to-” Wukong cut himself with a scream of pain as it spiked for a brief moment to a level that his mind was only white hot agony. He stumbled out of Macaque’s embrace and ran off, no clear destination in mind except that he needed to be away.
He could faintly hear Macaque and Spider Queen calling for him to come back, yet he didn’t listen.
The trees blurred as he ran past them and he stumbled into the first temple, nearly tripping on the stone steps and slamming the door behind him. In his blind, pain-filled panic he was able to pile the dusty and old furniture in front of the door to keep anybody out before the pain left him to fall to his knees. Wukong struggled to breath, his lungs feeling like they were on fire.
He couldn’t breathe. He felt like he couldn’t breathe.
Wukong could only open his mouth in a silent scream of pain, writhing on the floor in a poor attempt to alleviate his suffering. White hot pain ran down his spine as it felt like someone was pulling at it like taffy, skin stretching and organs rearranging underneath his flesh. He gasped in air once the unbearable heat seemed to recede only to let out a groan as it traveled down to his legs. Wukong swore that he could hear the bones in his legs creaking as they grew and thickened, muscles following their lead to fortify them as if ready to carry a great weight.
He sighed, feeling like he could breathe again while noticing that his clothes didn’t feel right anymore.
The brief moment of peace was shattered as Wukong was overtaken by pure agony as he felt something trying to push through his sides.
This time, he couldn’t hold in the screech that bellowed from his lungs.
Spider Queen and Macaque, desperately searching for Wukong, nearly jumped out of their skin as a roar of distress echoed through the forests of Flower Fruit Mountain. They two shared a silent look before running off in the direction of the sound’s origin, his ears leading the way as they twitched to and fro to track their idiot partner down.
“It came from here, I can hear him inside,” Macaque said yet the grim look on his face told her that that wasn’t all. The door didn’t budge when she attempted to pull it open, something heavy on the other side. Rapidly losing patience knowing that Wukong was on the other side and already in the throes of the transformation, Spider Queen felt she could be forgiven about what she needed to do next.
She stepped back before charging at the doors, her shoulder taking the brunt of force.
The fact that she caused the makeshift barricade on the other side to go flying across the temple was of no concern to her. The sight of Wukong curled up in a fetal position on the floor was.
“Peaches!” “Peachykins!”
They were both at his side in an instant, Macaque gently taking the Monkey King off the floor. Immediately he could feel something had changed. Wukong was taller, heavier in his arms.
Gods if that didn’t bring back memories he’d much rather bury.
“You shouldn’t… you two shouldn’t be here,” Wukong wheezed, voice raspy for obvious reasons.
“Quiet you, if you think for a second that we were going to let you deal with this alone, then it seems that venom messed with your brain too. I wasn’t alone for this, so neither should you.” Spider Queen nodded in agreement, running his fingers through his fur in her best attempt to offer him comfort.
Wukong whimpered as the heat and pressure against his sides seemed to grow and grow. Faintly in the back of his head, he could feel that wasn’t the only thing changing. Peach fur darkened as it grew thicker and longer into what was practically a mane. His claws became longer and sharper. For a moment, his entire world was bathed in green instead of gold before his vision returned to normal.
He should feel horrified, to feel himself changing, shifting without any sort of control or way to stop it in front of his partners to add salt to the wound. Feel helpless, powerless, weak.
Yet all that remained on the forefront of his mind was the pain.
“You’re doing amazing Wukong, I promise it’ll be over soon.”
“You just need to hold on a bit longer.”
Just when the pressure and heat had become borderline unbearable and Wukong was on the cusp of passing out, he could just barely hear the sound of ripping past the pounding in his ears.
Cloth ripping as well as something else. Something wet.
Macaque and Spider Queen were knocked back by the force of something punching its way out of the Monkey King's sides, their backs meeting the opposing sides of the room.
Wukong could feel blood dripping down his sides and his entire being ached, not too different from when he had been freed from under the mountain after 500 years. And yet all he could feel was sweet relief, body already working over time to heal his wounds and stop the bleeding. Letting himself a moment to breathe, he cautiously pulled himself up into a sitting position.
Or at least tried, as he fumbled back to the floor the moment he saw just how much his body changed.
Evidently even his “biology” felt the need to one up Macaque as Wukong tested his four new arms. He couldn’t help but mourn the fate of his clothes as it was obvious they were a lost cause, his shirt nothing but scraps of cloth barely able to contain his broader chest and orange stained with red. His pants, while not torn, were now much too short to cover his legs entirely. He could feel that his phoenix feather headdress had managed to get tangled up the much thicker fur which trailed from his head.
Cautiously, he began to move his new appendages. His limbs were clumsy but he slowly began to get the hang of it, belatedly noticing that the fur of his new arms got progressively paler. The second pair more closer resembled his old fur color while the third pair was pure white, all the colors converging around his sides. Or at least it looked like that, since the fur of his sides was sticky and caked with dried blood which stained it a dark red.
Groans of pain pulled him back to focus to see Spider Queen and Macaque pulling themselves off the floor, nursing bumps on the back of their heads from colliding with the walls.
“You… two alright?” His voice was still scratchy and now he had exhaustion weighing on his eyelids.
“Bit of a bump but we’ll live. Shouldn't have been so close honestly. What about you Peachykins?” Spider Queen asked, offering her hand to help him up while trying not to stare at the dried blood crusting his fur. Without hesitation, Wukong took her hand and let himself be lifted back on to his feet. He winced, muscles aching both old and new ones and started to try stretching out the new kinks in his spine.
Spider Queen meanwhile blushed at the fact that she had to crane her neck to meet his eyes now, doing her best to not stare at his muscled and bare chest. Macaque was no better as his eyes looked over Wukong's form, though he had the benefit of fur to hide his flushed cheeks. Their eyes met and they both came to a similar conclusion.
They were doomed.
"Feels weird and I ache all over but…" Wukong gave them both a slow grin once he noticed that he had to look down to see them both, "I think I could get used to this. Got a feeling you guys don't have a problem with it either, am I right?"
Oh they were so doomed.

So i'm reading and rereading all of those 'trying to make sense of the monkie kid world in relation to JTTW' and i'm here like... if Tang isn't actually Tripitaka and in fact just Some Guy I feel like this is him in universe. Just a big 'Pepe Silvia' Conspiracy board the length of one of the walls of his apartment covered in notes from historical documents and legends and slowly going insane, which is why he's so unflappable on screen, keep the screaming inside
...I’m not sure what brought this on but it’s delightful. So...have a thing!
-_-
“Oi, Tang!” Pigsy slammed the door to the apartment behind him. “They didn’t have any of those sweet buns you-” A weird noise made him pause. “Tang?” He headed to the spare room the scholar had taken as his office when they had moved in together. He opened the door and then stared at the scene.
Tang’s office looked like it had been hit by a hurricane. The bookshelves had been shoved to allow the walls to be overtaken by a mess of papers and photos. He could see his own picture, as well as Sandy and MK and a bunch of others. Red string connected everything.
Tang stood at a wall. “Tang?” Pigsy asked, not hiding the concern. “Are you okay?” He stepped closer, finally noticing the marker in his hand and the fact that he was vibrating.
The scholar turned. And wow, those were pretty dark bags. “I’ve been up for three weeks. Nothing makes sense.”
“Okay...” Pigsy gently gripped his elbow and wrist. “Let’s go lay down.”
“But I need to make sense of everything...”
“Later.” Pigsy turned the light off, barely resisting a shiver at the sight of it.

first_week
it has been a pretty blurry almost week now, since i left my parents’ little hobby farm in rural ontario and flew across the big old atlantic and landed in berlin.
wednesday — quick jaunt through security in montreal and then a glass of wine, poke bowl and the china vs canada curling match. flight was ... no sleep ... babies screaming ... man in front of me had his seat back all the way ... drinking yoghurt at midnight ... just girly things.
thursday — landed at CDG in paris. had to transfer to terminal 2F. CHAOS at their security line, and almost missing the flight paris 2 berlin. bumpy landing in berlin, and then waited for luggage for 3 hours until the brandenburg airport was pandemonium and i then waited in line for 2 hours at the lost and found desk. i. was. so. tired.
made it to my flat after a chaotic run-in at ostkreuz bc the berlin transit system is like TRAINS less like SUBWAYS (from my experience thus far)
met anthony who made me tea and had a good first little chat; a lovely middle aged swedish man who’s lived here for five years.
friday — i slept all day and then went to the grocery store up the street called rewe. funny how grocery stores are so similar and yet so different. and everything is in german (obviously) but !!!! somehow i was so shocked. also... automatic fridges?! you hover your hand, as if reaching for something inside the fridge, and the door OPENS for you. Also fridges all around the outside of the store FILLED with meat and cheese (there was a veggie one too, dw)
i bought seitan steaks... which chopped up and fried with MAGGI... bro... with instant mashed potatoes? they have no right. i’m shockith.
saturday — i ventured out to find my fave store MONKI, and wandered through the neighbourhood and over to Friedrichshain. saw a bit of the east berlin gallery and went to the east mall which was BEAUTIFUL. and so interesting to see that malls, while they host clothing stores, they are more centred around everyday purchases / errands (optometrist, grocery stores, electronic stores, etc.)
sunday — sunday’s are the rest day, and pretty much everything is closed. so i caught up on some sleep and ended up finding the missing piece of my charger. my laptop has power! just in time to get myself organized for my anmeldung appointment the next day.
monday — after a quick cry in the toilet, i ventured to a scary day. going to get anmeldung without someone who speaks german... fk. everything was ok though. the lady was nice, and spoke english... so i got lucky. then i stormed around neukolln and all the turkish shops, and tempelhof airport and then i stormed in, finally to this cutie restaurant, where the barista let me sit, even though my vax-pass wasn’t working. OOOF.
but had the best damn meal i’ve had in a WHILE.
tuesday – recalibrated my psyche
wednesday – walked to rummelsburg bucht and passed by the sysyphos (sp?) and then went to kaufland ! still amazed @ the cashiers abilities to ring you through ha ha
thursday – my luggage arrived! hallelujah. just one piece, but still have never been so happy to see a bag…
friday – set out to get my vaccine passport changed to an EU one, little luck. the apoteke said “not for tourists” “can’t do it without doctors’ stamp”
walked up the little trail beside the tracks which was nice! things are starting to get greeeeen (yay) and into and around friedrichshain.
then went to the O2 store to get a sim - the guy spoke english (thank gawd) and asked me if it was true that marijuana is legal EVERYWHERE in canada lol we love getting drug tips from phone guys < 3 but honestly work, and yes to destigmatizing convos surrounding drugs.
and my second bag arrived ! and i unpacked !
and registered for german school (:
so really a packed amount of time. feels like forever and no time at all.

Nightmare of Grins
Goliath has nightmares about the Mayor. About the furnace. About Meiyun's own face contorted with a horrible grin. At least she's there when he wakes.
A request for @twinklecupcake starring the ship she made, StrongSmoothie! Also involves nightmare violence and hurt/comfort in the realm of cuddles and LBD trauma.
AO3
They didn’t see him coming.
They never did. Goliath instead felt Huntsman launch into him, forcing him back. Goliath turned in time to see the massive monster’s fist slam into his brother. Despite the broken lights of the hallway, he could still see the twisted and stretched grin of the man who claimed to be the mayor.
That grin was his only warning.
Something cold wrapped around him and slammed him down.
And now he stood in front of the furnace. A scream clawed at his throat, begging to be loose, voicing his terror, but his mouth remained shut. He did manage to turn his head. Syntax and Huntsman stood next to him, faces frozen in warped grins.
“No, please, you promised me my destiny!”
“A promise I did not break…”
A hand wrapped around his. Goliath looked away from his clanmates and looked down. Meiyun stood beside him, her face horribly contorted in a broad smile, eyes empty and blank.
He could not keep it in anymore.
“MEIYUN-”
“GOLIATH!”
His eyes slammed open.
The moment the world came into focus, Goliath was so glad he had trained himself out of punching. (Huntsman had gotten way too many black eyes in the first few days after Spirit Jail.) Meiyun leaned over him. “Goliath,” she said as though he was still asleep. “Goliath, are you alright?”
Goliath couldn’t bring himself to speak. Instead, he found himself reaching up and stroking her face. Meiyun leaned into his hand on instinct but still looked concerned. Shame washed over him.
“I didn’t mean to wake you up.”
Meiyun shook her head. “No, I’m sorry I didn’t wake you up sooner. The way you breathed sounded like you were in distress.” Goliath pulled his hand away and pushed himself up. Meiyun’s laptop was on, casting blue light over his room with some kind of gaming video. He glanced over and gulped. His girlfriend stared at him. “What’s wrong?”
Goliath took a deep breath in. He would try to dismiss it normally. But the way she sat next to him, concerned eyes burning into his skin, it was…
He couldn’t bring himself to brush it away.
“It was about the mayor.” Meiyun raised a brow, and he internally swore. As far as she knew, the mayor was one Teng Xinyi, not the man who had simply said he was Shi when Syntax dared to ask. “Not the actual mayor. Just some guy who claimed to be the mayor.”
Meiyun raised a brow. “And…you had a nightmare about him.”
“No, I mean, yeah, it’s…It’s complicated.” Goliath took another deep breath in and let it out. He needed to rip the bandage off. “What do you remember about Lady Bone Demon?”
The concern faded. Instead, fear lit up Meiyun’s eyes. Goliath’s stomach hurt, and he had to bite back the lump that wanted to change the subject. He needed to talk about this. He needed to admit his part.
“Not much,” Meiyun gripped the edge of her skirt, looking at her laptop as if Mario would save her. “I was at home when the ice came, and it encased me entirely.” Goliath felt himself lurch forward. He didn’t know that! Meiyun held up a hand to make him pause. “I was fine. I got myself checked out by a hospital, and they said I was fine. Apparently, I’m lucky because that made sure I didn’t remember all those weeks.”
Goliath nodded. “But you do remember some things?”
Meiyun took a deep breath. “Just that there was a blue light in the sky, and suddenly it was cold, and I couldn’t move.” Just like him. “Then the ice broke…” Meiyun laughed. “I thought the world was ending because it was suddenly so warm, and there were weird lights in the sky.”
Goliath nodded. “It was the Monkie Kid.” He faintly remembered being grabbed by Sandy and thrown. “He saved us.”
“Not according to my coworker.” He raised a brow. Meiyun sighed. “He was really into aliens and kept claiming that everything was a mass kidnapping.” She winced at whatever memory came up at the words. “He got fired after accusing a rude customer of being an alien overlord checking on the prisoners.”
Goliath honestly would’ve paid to see that.
But there was something more important.
“We helped the Lady Bone Demon.” Meiyun’s eyes went wide. He winced, expecting her to start screaming, yelling, begging to know how could he?! Instead, however, she nodded. It sounded like she was ordering him to continue. “The guy who claimed to be the mayor was her henchman. At least, that’s what I think he was. He was always kinda strange.”
“I see.”
Her voice felt strangely empty. Goliath took a deep breath.
“In the end, she turned on us. She had always been planning to try and kill the queen for her giant mech thing.” Meiyun nodded. “She didn’t need us. He came after us and dragged us…” How best to describe it? The vast emptiness that gripped them, only broken by flashes of the real world and who they were attacking? Goliath couldn’t even speak of it. He settled on “He punched Huntsman.”
Meiyun hummed. “That sounds scary.”
“Yeah.” Even though his brother was smaller, Goliath had always believed Huntsman was stronger. That had broken the moment the “Mayor” attacked. “I had to watch.” That wasn’t true- in reality, he had launched himself at the mayor. Before he could attack, the giant hulking bone mass had grabbed Huntsman and slammed him right into Goliath. “Huntsman had an awful black eye for days.”
“That’s what your nightmare was about?”
Goliath nodded. “Yeah. But, again, I’ve had it for a while. I shouldn’t have disturbed-” Warm arms wrapped around him. Meiyun hadn’t said a word. Instead, she hugged him, her face scrunched up in sadness. “Uh…”
“I’m sorry,” she whispered. “I’m sorry you had to go through that.”
Goliath blinked, and then the words “You were there too” slid out. Meiyun didn’t look up. She just pressed her head against his chest, an almost silent breath making her shoulders slump. He wrapped her arms around her. Tension finally released him and tears rolled down his cheeks. “I’m sorry.”
He was glad she was here, that she was safe, that she didn’t stand beside him and hold his hand and watch the queen be dragged down.
They were here and they were safe.

How about 70 for that one au where Red decided after Bad Weather that he liked MK? (Maybe a confession of some sort?)
Oh, I love that I get to come back to this idea! This is the first fill (which, holy shit, I cannot believe this got so many notes) and this was the follow up, so this one gets to be a prequel! I went absolutely wild on this... it's super long.
Was this supposed to be a romantic gesture?
Things had been suspiciously quiet since Red Son had attacked the weather station one week ago to the day. It had only taken him a day and a half to return, attacking Xiaotian and demanding a rematch in the middle of a delivery run only to immediately run off in a burst of flames and sputtered insults when he body slammed him into the side of his truck not even 2 minutes into the fight. He returned 5 seconds later with an angry scream for the truck and hadn’t come back since.
Nothing had happened since. Nothing.
And Xiaotian was just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Oh, he joked about how Red must have learned his lesson and gone into hiding and how he didn’t worry about him coming back to get his butt kicked again, but deep in the back of his mind he just knew that he had something up his sleeve.
And oh how he hated being right sometimes.
“You can’t run away this time, Noodle Boy!” Red Son screamed as he chased Xiaotian, doing everything in his power to keep him from reaching his tuk-tuk. He was fighting more intensely, more viciously than the last two times, but this time without any of his fire or Bull Clones for backup. He had waited for him to take a delivery far outside of the city and ambushed him in his truck once again, blocking the road and making it nearly impossible for the delivery boy to leave. “NOW FIGHT ME PROPERLY!”
“I am fighting you!” Xiaotian screamed in turn, blocking each and every punch and kick with the staff. They’d been doing this song and dance for almost 5 minutes and Xiaotian was starting to get frustrated and angry and tired.
“I SAID PROPERLY!” Red Son repeated, landing a harsh punch to the back of one of Xiaotian’s hands.
He yelped, jumping back and waving his hand in pain before scowling in Red’s direction. “Oh, oh you want me to fight you without the staff? OK, fine, have it your way I can still kick your ass!”
The staff shrank down to the size of the tiniest pin and as Xiaotian stored it away in his ear he rushed at Red Son with a scream and aimed a punch at the other’s face. He startled when the punch landed hard only to have Red Son laugh in response and try to grapple him and toss him completely over his head with a yell of “FINALLY” and just barely managed to land on his feet.
He turned and went to punch once again, missing as Red leaned to the side and dropped down to grab his waist and return the body slam into the truck from last time. Xiaotian pulled his legs up and back, kicking Red hard in the torso and sending him flying away and freeing him from his grasp. He watched as the fire demon bounced and landed on his back a few feet away and rushed forward in anticipation for another attack... That did not come.
He stopped only a few short steps away from the fire demon, looking down carefully. Red Son laid where he landed on the ground, his chest rose and fell in heavy breathing from the battle and if it wasn’t Xiaotian would have been worried he had accidentally killed him.
“Uh-”
“Please go out with me.”
“EXCUSE ME!?” Xiaotian sputtered as Red Son sat himself up and he took a step back in shock, Red holding his chest and blushing even harder than the Monkie Kid himself was at the sudden request. “I-you-we just!? WHAT?”
“I- shit no, I apologize, that wasn’t how I intended to ask,” Red said as his hair started to sway in flames, blush deepening as he looked away.
“You... want to go out with me?” Xiaotian questioned, narrowing his gaze and watching Red Son’s face carefully. “I.... I’ve kicked your ass four times and stopped your father and-WAIT is this a trap?”
“No!” Red exclaimed as he rose to his feet, sighing as he ran his hands over his face. “No, I... I’ll explain in a moment. I, uh... after our battle at the weather station... I may have come to the conclusion that... maybe.. I had misjudged you and that you’re kind of handsome?”
Xiaotian froze, looking at Red Son with wide eyes before blushing more. “You think I’m handsome?” He chuckled, suddenly feeling awkward. This entire conversation had become very awkward, just enough for him to think... maybe he should see this at least part way through.
“Yes, and... I apologize for the... garbage comments,” Red said. “I was trying very hard to sound intimidating for my Bull Clones. They were immature at best.”
“I mean, we were kind of fighting on opposite sides and -HEY!" Xiaotian shook his head, scowling once again. What was he thinking? "Come on, I can't just accept you at your word! You're a bad guy, you and your dad and your mom destroyed half the city!"
"Ah yes," Red Son nodded casually as if he had expected such a retort as he reached into his coat pocket. "To prove I am serious about this proposition I took it upon myself to use my private funds to recoup the costs of 75% of the city restoration anonymously... since at least 25% of that was also you." He unfolded a paper, a genuinely official looking one.
Stepping forward carefully to read it, Xiaotian saw it certainly looked like a printed receipt for donations...
"... you're... serious about this aren't you?" He questioned, staring into Red Son's face as he did. "You actually want to go out with me."
"Just once," Red Son clarified as he put the paper in his pocket. "After the weather station I just couldn't stop thinking about the fight. I'd worked myself up enough to attack you thinking I had simply been angry about my defeat, but soon I realized I was not angry but impressed. It takes a lot to impresse me, Noodle Boy, and-"
"Xiaotian."
"Huh?" Red Son paused at the interruption and his hair flamed up more.
"If you're serious call me by my actual name, Xiaotian," he repeated, crossing his arms and jumping as Red Son burst into flames for a moment before seeming to calm down.
"Xi-Xiaotian," Red Son continued, voice more flustered than before. "I. I was impressed and. Realized that I found that. Attractive." His words were more stilted and awkward and if the situation was different Xiaotian would have only found it endearing. "I... LOOK- I spent 2 days researching human dating customs and I don't know if I'm doing this right at all and demon customs for courtship are very different and outdated and-"
"Sure."
"Huh?" Red flamed up again, blushing deeply. "Did you say yes!?"
"Yeah, sure, why not?" Xiaotian shrugged with a smile. "I'll go out with you. But why attack me again?"
"I needed to judge how strong you were in case you said yes and we needed to pretend to fight..."
This was going to be interesting.

23 & 26 with roleswapped spicynoodles but, hear me out, it's where Red is the Monkie Kid while MK is the prince of DBK
A swap AU where they are the only two switched sounds like a lot of fun! I enjoyed getting this down, it was fun to try out a different interpretation like this.
“Can’t get enough of me, huh?”/ “You’re an idiot.” “I’m your idiot.”
The day was beautiful. The sun was shining. Birds were singing. And there was a distinct lack of-
"FIGHT ME NOODLE BOY!"
Ah, there it was. Screaming.
Red, the Monkie Kid himself, sighed as he moved one step to the left to narrowly avoid the rapidly falling form of the son of DBK and PIF himself. MK. (One day he would actually figure out WHAT that stood for.)
"Again?" Red turned, watching the shorter pick himself out of his newly formed crater. "Really? That's the 4th time this week. And it's Tuesday. What's gotten into you?" He smirked. "Can't get enough of me, huh?"
"IT IS YOU WHO WON'T GET ENOUGH OF-wait that sounds weird-RAGH JUST FIGHT ME!" MK shouted, lighting his hands on fire and rushing forward to throw a punch in Red's face with a wide smile.
Red just managed to side step in time, dropping backward to the ground and sweeping one of his legs to kick MK's own and knock him off balace. He backflipped, pulling his staff out and twirled it in front of him just in time to whip away a blast of fire. MK jumped at him, cartwheeling in the air with a well aimed kick toward his face that was just avoided when Red twisted his body and it made contact with the staff.
"No, seriously, what's up?" Red asked as MK grabbed the top of his staff and held onto it. He planted it into the ground, making it shoot up and he swore he only kind of enjoyed the scream MK let out when he was sent a good 20 feet into the sky.
"I WANT YOU TO FIGHT ME!" Was his muted response as he used the staff as leverage to jump back down to the ground with more force, aiming yet another kick at Red's head.
Which he once again side stepped.
"OK, dude, you really can't expect the same thing you already failed at to work a second time," Red sighed. He looked over the edge of the slightly larger crater, watching as MK struggled to pull his leg out of the crumbled concrete. "You're an idiot."
"I'm your idiot!"
They both froze. Red blinked. MK blinked. The birds sang without acknowledging their presence.
"... I have to go, Noodle Boy." MK said with a tone in his voice that yelled "smite me now and let me die before I embarrass myself more", calling his fire to wisk him away to who knows where. After a few seconds Red was certain he heard a muffled scream.
