This is Alec's canon response and also one of my favorite Solas moments in the game. I LOVE the reactions you get from him when you come at him with the more upfront, furious options in act 3. Rook completely has the read on him here and Solas has lost the leverage he's been using to manipulate them. WHAT A MOMENT WHAT A SITUATION.

I will never understand how the milkvans considered the ily monologue as a win- like I'm never not amazed- are we watching the same show?? if I was rooting for mike and el to be together I'd have felt robbed and betrayed and MAD because of the monologue, like not only does mike lie(which the show itself proves that he did you dont have to read between the lines at ALL) but it's just so cliche, not heartfelt or emotional at least not in the way I'd want a love confession to be(also no montage of cute moments??), like it's so not intimate at all idk how they're happy with it and use it as solid evidence that their endgames confirmed- not to mention the monologue doesn't solve the multitude of problems mike and el have in their relationship like- el wants to feel loved for more than what she can do and her powers and how do you think she feels after mike can tell her he loves her only after she has her powers back is almost dying fighting for everyones lives, stakes are through the roof it's unbelievable like I would not be happy with that(and he mentions her powers mulitple times in his monologue im-). And this is after her own arc for the season and confronting the real monster in her life and seeing herself(it was beautiful might I add) but mike contributed like nothing to her growth all season- and the ily doesn't add anything either so no problems solved on el's side(also not a single conversation post love confession? yikes and to get that confirmation with yet another conversation between mike and will? BIG YIKES FOR MILKVANS). Now on mike's side- everyone says his problem was saying ily and he did that hooray his problems are solved but that's not it. His problems weren't him being unable to communicate how he feels to someone he cares about a lot(we already know he can do that ahem nearly every heart to heart with will) no his problems are literally spelled out for us in every conversation he has with will, all his insecurities and feelings of worthlessness and less than. Him telling his super powered gf how amazing strong powerful she is and that he loves her doesn't solve ANY of his issues, he's still putting her on a pedestal, he still thinks of them as not equals and we don't get even a single conversation where they talk about it, the closest thing we got to a conversation that couldve led to growth was the ily fight and el shut mike down- LIKE everyone shits on mike for being a bad boyfriend but el wasn't the best girlfriend and yeah she had her own issues and reasons but SO DOES MIKE and the only person he's talked to about them is will the only person that's helped mike feel better about them is will and you expect me to still root for two people that make the other feel awful when theyre together instead of "you make [me] feel like [I'm] better for being different" and "if we're both going crazy then we'll go crazy together" LIKE CMON

Full disclosure, I'm still on chapter 6 but I wanted to say a few things:

Led by Dutch, the Van Der Linde gang have been chasing the feeling of living by their own terms so much that it's killing them. Pursuing that high has only left them to run forever, from those who want to clip their wings of freedom for the sake of law.

The O'Driscoll and Cornwall feud is a scapegoat for Dutch to get revenge for himself and his pride, he uses his charismatic rhetoric to sway the gang and justify all his actions. If they don't obey, they get named and shamed. Dutch labeling the gang as a family and treating them as such has conditioned them to know not to disappoint him, especially Arthur.

Arthur was taught not to bite the hand that feeds him, even when he wasn't fed.

The days of stealing from the rich and giving to the poor are long gone. Their way of living is outdated and they're running out of land to run away to.

This pursuit of freedom, once idealised, has become a desperate attempt to survive in a world that doesn't want them.

Their hearts have always been in the right place, but their guns were misguided by Dutch.

That loyalty has killed them.

MAN I'm seriously so sad about season 2. Bc I wish act 2 had the same emotional impact on me as it appears to have on so many others. But rn I'm just somewhere between unable to care and actively annoyed by some of those writing decisions. Seriously the more I think about it the less I like it.

the way it happened is truly everyone's worst fear, and the episode puts a spotlight on what those fears are. k trying to fix something and fucking it up massively. when she airdrops all her stuff, it didn't feel like "k's still thinking about her network etc", it felt like defeat, giving up the work she was doing as itsy for someone else, cause she's lost all confidence in her ability to fix what she was trying to fix. sam tries to help with magic, and her wand doesn't work, and she's confronted with how helpless she is without it. she hosts a show with magic in the name but when she needs it, when she calls for it, it doesn't come, and without it all she is (all she fears that she is) is just being shiny on the outside with nothing on the inside. jammer having less than a minute to feel grief and fear before he just locks in on what he needs to do, where they need to go, because jammer feels responsible for everyone he cares about so he feels responsible for this, he can't face evan's shadow because he can't fail evan again because he's already failed to be there before. and then evan! having to be rescued, being inconvenient and throwing off their mission, and then coming back with no clothes, is the worst! he's so sad about how his presence is making his friends' lives worse because k and jammer can't even look at him, he tried to help sam in whatever way he can and it just upset her, and then he socially trapped sam into assuring him she cares about him. he has to ask a magic goat a question and he doesn't know how and even though the goat ends up giving him the theoretical right answer, now it's disappointed in him because he used a cop out! very bad no good day for evan. man.

Disclaimer: I am very very exclusively talking about the Life Series characters, not their creators. I understand and love and respect that everything the creators do is in the competitive/silly nature of the game.

To me, personally, Flower Husbands is toxic because Jimmy has never done anything for Scott ever. In my head, Scott dotes on Jimmy and protects and takes care of Jimmy, and then Scott gets literally nothing in return. Jimmy lies to him, refuses to say “I love you” back even though Scott is clearly hurt by it, ignores and attacks Scott for no reason even when it's a really bad idea, and never expresses affection for Scott. Scott does SO MUCH and Jimmy won’t even look in his direction and then is so offended when Scott does anything that goes against Jimmy.

This isn’t something that Jimmy does to Scott specifically; he does it to all his past allies who cc!Jimmy is actually close to cause he knows for certain that they won’t get for real mad at him, which is great and I’m really glad that they can trust each other like that.

Still, in my fictional headcanon daydreams, Jimmy is such a horrible husband to Scott and then divorces Scott cause he just got tired of Scott.

And then Scott finds Team TIES. Team TIES LOVES Scott so much for every little part of him. Tango has said multiple times that he loves Scott, Impulse has repeatedly stated his admiration for Scott, Etho seems to pay an unusual amount of attention to Scott compared to the rest of the server like he has a lot of respect for Scott and knows that Scott is a threat but he also feels comfortable making jokes around Scott because he knows that Scott is very logical and trying to intimidate Scott isn’t going to work cause Scott will target whoever is causing him the most trouble no matter how scary they seem and Scott may not win every one of those fights but he certainly leaves carnage behind, and Skizz has spewed time and time again just how much he admires Scott. Skizz clearly and enthusiastically loves Scott so much and isn’t afraid to show it. All of these traits, this open and unapologetic respect, that’s exactly what I want for Scott.

These traits can also be seen in Ren, Martyn, Scar, and Grian. They are not so much seen in BigB, Bdubs, and Joel. As for Mumbo, further research must be conducted🔎hopefully this series!! What I’m trying to say is that, from my perspective, every single man on that server except maybe Joel is a better partner to Scott than Jimmy ever was.

I am excluding the women because I’m specifically talking about romantic relationships and putting Scott with a woman feels wrong and bad, but, platonically, I am also an ENORMOUS fan of Scott’s friendships with Gem, Pearl, Lizzie, and Cleo. They’re all so unafraid of him and comfortable joking with him and improving with him and I love that. Scott and Cleo are my favorite best friends in every series they’re in together.
