Hi again! Glad that you’re back :> I hope you’re doing well and got enough rest after your exams!
I have a request! Where Yan!Fyodor or Yan!Nikolai (you can choose one of them!) first impressions on Venti! Male! Reader, for example, seeing how cheerful and carefree he is and also somewhat unbothered even when he is hurt, but then also seeing a much more serious side of him, seeing how he can be so cold and indifferent to other people, basically making them think if this was even the same person that they grew obsessed with.
(P.S: NO NEED to do this if you’re not interested! ^^)

𝘍𝘺𝘰𝘥𝘰𝘳.
I assume it to be the near future or the slight past, perhaps he met you in your past life? Okay?.
It might be two ways for him, Likely in the past you may have encountered him (like a human?) And perhaps ended up enjoying each other company.
Let's just go a little past life encounter (in his view).
He met you in luck more likely lured into your music as you played a lyre, At first he wasn't that interested your encounter with him is instant and the fact you mention about the wind leading your way. He learn a quiet two or three from you about your poems.
Always cheerful. He ended up enjoying your company after all he doesn't know what to do right now due to his immortality ability.
"You often goes around playing lyre whenever possible why?"
"Well seeing people smile and enjoying my music is quiet a sight and I enjoy it"
"Hmm..."
He never admitted your company had been worthwhile, your patience and your words were wise perhaps wiser than his, he never encountered someone like you and perhaps he was glad to be still alive to meet you.
But he forgot one day you will leave him too. Okay in the past he may or may not be different from current but perhaps he never may have met someone this genuine interest of someone.
You were the someone who was always kind and wise... Perhaps that's the reason why.
"Stay awake... Don't close your eyes yet" he stated unsure on what to do but he think was you can't die on him like this.
You let out a chuckle as he told you not to laugh.
"It's fine... For your door, death come to all this is nothing" you stated while bleeding out.
"It is Fyodor how many time I have to say, why must you use this last moment to say my name correctly"
"I suppose, perhaps death is the most tragic end of a character don't you think"
"You are dying here, Not now you still haven't grow old"
"Why you want to see me age? Wouldn't you be aging more then-" you coughed out blood as he frown.
None was at sight who can help you, he felt your hands on him not out of malice but pure reassurance.
His eyes widen as you smile softly at him.
"I hope to see you, In death realm alright" you stated as he frown slightly. With a gentle squeeze in your hand as he was in thought he hear a rustle as he turn around.
"It might be a person, you can still be-" his words halted as he notices your dulled eyes, your breath was gone as your hair tinted green at the end vanishes.
"...you can't just die like this, didn't you say you want to sing all around the world? Hey wake up you can't say your goodbye like this" he stated as his hand on your face. It was cold he knows you are no longer alive.
"Not until you hear my answer... I can't come with you to death realm..."
It may have been a hundred years later perhaps. To this current statement.
His eyes bored into yours who seemed confused.
"So you are telling me to keel an eye on him?" You asked your fellow colleague as the colleague nod.
"Hi there" you approach him while he is on the capsule ball of sort.
"Hello" he stated.
"...If I'm not wrong you are from Russian right?" He just gave a nod as you were unsure on what to say more.
You start to walk away only for his voice to make you stop.
"What's your name?"
"Huh? Me, Well it is Y/n, Y/n Venti"
His eyes widen slightly yet he smile softly perhaps.
"I see, You are not Japanese right?"
"How did you know? Was accent still gibberish?"
He softly chuckles, "Not really you don't look like for a reason"
"Eh...? Where do I look like?"
"Hmm... German?"
"Wow you are quiet Keen mister..." You look complicated on what was his name was as he sigh softly.
"Fyodor Dostoyevsky"
"Ah yes For your door"
"Fyodor"
"It sound the same I don't see a problem"
He sigh again leading you to blink confusedly.
"Your hair"
"My hair? Are you asking what shampoo I use? My I knew you can see my hair look good"
He just stare leading you to awkwardly chuckle.
"The green fades..."
"Hmm? I was born with it, I did not dyed what's with people asking if I dyed my hair at the end."
"I know"
"You know?"
"..."
"..."
"..."
"Y/n-san you are been called by commander" said a voice downstairs as you look down notice Tecchou.
"Ah! Comming! I am sure he brought dozens of apples for me!" You stated then look at Fyodor.
"Be a good prisoner and we will meet again, For your door!" You stated flying downward to Tecchou.
Ended up talking and leaving.
Fyodor stares at your retreating formed then flip a page of a novel book.
"Perhaps... Reincarnation does happens..."
---
You were too alike with your past self's, the habit of eating apples. He is shock you aren't drunk and come here muttering gibberish of sort.
You sometime visit yet quickly left not too long he will say. He was amused you are apart of Hunting dogs. He wonders if you can recall your past life which he states.
"You wounded your hand?"
"Huh? This? It is just a scratch" you stated ignoring the bandage hand.
"I see still unbother by your injuries"
"Huh? You sound as if you know me since childhood of sort"
He remains quiet.
But... The last thing he never thought he will see on your expression beside happy smile of sort was.
Your seriousness and anger perhaps?.
"Are you alright? Teruko-chan?" You stated holding Teruko tightly narrowly escape her fate of death.
"...Why must you come here" Fyodor simply stare as you remain quiet.
"Venti... Commander he isn't right?"
"Shh, I don't know a thing going on here"
"I can literally kill you both here" Fyodor stated slightly annoyed by you hugging Teruko who is crying on your chest.
Your eyes look up at him, he notice the seriousness.
"That's unlikely of you"
"...'
"I thought you never get mad or serious"
"Stop acting like you know me at all, Fyodor Dostoevsky" you stated with a tone fill with annoyance as he tighten his hand on his sword.
"I see... Hate to admit but... I do not want you to die on me again, Y/n not now or ever"
.
.

That took awhile but let's go to Nikolai part.
It will less long I suppose.

𝘕𝘪𝘬𝘰𝘭𝘢𝘪:
A simple trick to play with you, Well it may have happen before the whole Ada ordeal occurred and he met you by luck in the isolated place?
Why were you there? Playing lyre where there is no one? In a slum area.
He won't be caught up to you but your tale make him curious.
How did you know about the God of freedom so much?
He thought Fyodor was more likely the knowledgeable but you... You sound as if you know it personally level.
He was a bit confused to know Fyodor interest in you.
One time he try to stop you by injuring you yet when he left more likely hide you said you just got on a silly accident ignoring the fact you were attacked.
He wonders why you often smiles he is curious to know how you will look when crying.
"You know what is freedom too right? Then let just bring him closer to the freedom where human are chained too!" He state slightly annoyed but his joyful smile present as you stood in front protecting Atsushi who seems alarmed.
"Are you going to protect a criminal? Where are the morals of a hunting dog."
"Ada is not a criminal organisation i know it that much" you stated as Nikolai smile widens.
"Wow! Does that mean you know the truth?"
"I surely do"
"..." Atsushi was glad you were on their side as Nikolai dramatically state how you are stopping the will of the freedom.
"Shut up! Freedom is not something related to death at all, freedom is something which is your will. Your choice if the person does not want to die yet you have no right to force someone in the name of nonesense freedom"
That day you were angry. And serious. Very unlikely. He was taken aback.
"Oh... So you do know about freedom huh"
And for the first time even Nikolai eyes and expression change into something... Different.
His eyes bored in yours ad you stare back.
"I will love to hear more from you... Tell me... Can you show me what your freedom truly is... Y/n"

BSD: An Absurdist Analysis - Ch. 114.5
Fyodor: The Unkillable Devil
[BSD Absurdism Masterpost]
So, I was mostly correct in my speculations from last month's chapter! I'm really proud of this, though I will admit that my theory wasn't a complete match to what ended up happening
I assumed that Fyodor took on the guard's lifeforce, but it was Bram who he body-swapped with, which makes for a much for interesting (and higher stakes) situation.
Tumblr media
Admittedly, this post is going to be a bit less analysis and more me sharing my thoughts and questions, because not much has changed from what I said last month: Fyodor being practically unkillable is the ultimate absurdity for him as a villain -- how do you defeat a literally immortal super genius?
It's just made even worse now by the fact that it is Bram's body who he's "subsuming." It puts considerable distance between himself (now in Japan) and Dazai (in France), who is the only human being capable of killing him due to his nullification. This is deeply ironic in that Dazai was so goddamn close to killing Fyodor, if only he had delivered the final blow himself, he would have succeeded. That's dramatic irony for ya!
Tumblr media
The ultimate absurdity lies within the fact that Dazai was so close to victory the entire time; Fyodor was in genuine danger throughout the whole prison break thing (because either poison or Dazai could have actually killed him), but one lapse in judgement has now left Dazai relatively powerless.
There is also absurdity in the fact that Fukuawa, Fukuchi, Aya, and Teruko are basically incapable of stopping Fyodor not only from subsuming Bram's body, but from carrying out his plan with the tripolar singularity. They don't even have enough time to enact a last-ditch effort to stop him before he stabs Fukuchi.
Tumblr media
Jumping back to the reveal of Fyodor's ability, this chapter has left me with some questions about Fyodor's plan:
Why allow Sigma to learn of this? I see no really good reason for why Fyodor didn't kill Sigma when given the chance. The only thing I can think of is that he wanted to distract Dazai, ultimately knowing that he would eventually go back for Sigma and try to figure out why he was passed out, killing some time. Still, this doesn't really make much sense to me, as killing Sigma would have done practically the same thing. Also, at that point, there's really no reason to distract Dazai, the deed has already been done. My only other idea is that he figured that once he was able to subsume Bram, it wouldn't matter if Dazai knew about his ability, so he allowed Sigma to obtain this information in order to let Dazai know of his loss. Still, this doesn't make any strategic sense in the way that keeping Dazai in the dark for as long as possible appears to be the optimal course of action.
Does Nikolai know about Fyodor's ability? If so, it would explain the usage of the poison in the prison break challenge, given that his ultimate goal is to kill Fyodor. It might also explain why he considers them to be "besties," because he's one of very few people who know the true nature of Fyodor's ability. This is complete speculation, though, as it could really go either way.
Did Fyodor know Chuuya was faking it the whole time? Because if not, I think Chuuya was his fallback plan. If he truly believed Chuuya to be a vampire controlled by Bram, then at any point he could have ordered him to kill him, but I think the only thing that stopped him from doing so was his desperation to have Dazai killed as the only person capable of actually taking his life. If he did indeed know Chuuya was just acting, though, I wonder if he had just thought far enough ahead to know how things would go and needed Chuuya to be present to get to that conclusion. I'm really curious as to how much of this plan was actual foresight and how much was improvisation.
As for the tripolar singularity... well I think we know where that leads, given that the anime gave us a little preview to future events.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'll admit that the concept of the singularity is one of the things I least understand about the BSD lore/universe, but this certainly raises the stakes. I might be wrong about this, but aren't there theories that somehow Akutagawa and Atsushi's abilities combined are able to supersede singularities? In this way, they'd be the only hope against Tripolar Singularity Fukuchi (which I've got to assume works much like Arahabaki in that Fukuchi is not in control anymore).
We also now can now assume that Akutagawa (and assumedly anyone else who was turned into a vampire) becomes un-vampirified because Bram ceases to exist when Fyodor takes on his body, so this explains how we get to the above situation.
That's all I got for now! Please feel free to add to my analysis and discuss the questions I've asked, I love talking about this stuff with y'all! :)
Edit: Ok so of course almost immediately upon posting this I thought of more things to add in terms of how this all relates to absurdism. The concept of Fyodor being unable to die is not only absurd from the storytelling perspective of him being BSD's ultimate villain for so long, but also on a personal level for himself.
One of humanity's defining qualities is mortality -- the idea that we all die eventually, whether we like it or not. For Fyodor, this isn't true, though. His ability is a curse that traps him into living so long as people try to kill him. This further explains his ultimate motive of wanting to eliminate all abilities, probably because he recognizes many abilities to be curses and also that abilities have potential to be abused by those in power, whether for "right" or "wrong" reasons.
The irony in this is that Fyodor is doing just that, he has used his ability to remain alive far longer than he should have, and is thus able to carry out his plans. Yes, he believes what he is doing is for the good of humanity, but as the reader, we also know that this is not his decision to make. He has become the very thing he's trying to fight! This can be seen as Fyodor giving into the absurdity of reality, rather than actually rebelling against it, which makes him the antagonist to our absurdist protagonists, who refuse to give in and continue to push back against life's absurdities.
Fyodor's problem (and I think I talked about this in the chapter where he "died") is that he wants to control the absurd reality, but that is just not possible. You can't control meaninglessness, all you can do is not become a part of it, which Fyodor fails to do in his effort to not do so. It's a complete paradox.
Hopefully what I'm saying here makes sense, I am currently running on like five hours of sleep (which not a lot for me) and black tea lol

BSD CHARACTERS THAT I THINK CAN DEFEAT AND/OR KILL FYODOR!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
1- Lucy M.
Tumblr media
well basically they don't necessarily need to kill fyodor to defeat him.
all they need to do is get lucy close enough to fyodor so she can activate her ability.
if anne's able to catch and trap fyodor, he'll be stuck. i don't think there's anyway he can get out of there, and since lucy won't kill him she'll be safe.
honestly i think her ability's the best way to defeat fyodor (and asagiri might agree since there's no killing💀)
2- Adam
Tumblr media
he's a robot. he could blow fyodor up and he'd be fine. adam manga appearance when. i miss him.
no but seriously i doubt that fyodor's ability would work on him. WHY should it? worst case scenario if he kills fyodor mary shelley gets turned into him on the other side of the world.
3- Poe
Tumblr media
kinda similar to lucy.
if poe can write a novel that's complicated enough, he can trap him in it forever/ kill him.
(BUT the thing is that poe hasn't been able to defeat ranpo with that, and fyodor has outsmarted ranpo before. so i doubt he can manage to write a story that complicated—at least not in a short time)
4- Dazai
Tumblr media
people have probably said him a lot before! and i mean yeah it's simple.
dazai's an ability nullifier. fyodor's immortality is an ability, so if dazai kills him fyodor shouldn't be able to come back. (but i think he might need to make contact while he kills him for it to work?)
it kinda feels like absolutely DESTROYING his promise to oda but oh well dazai said he's to kill him in prison arc.
5- Lovecraft
Tumblr media
based on his fight with skk, chuuya going full force on him and blowing him up + dazai saying that his "ability" isn't an ability and couldn't nullify it, i doubt that he's a human.
so if he kills fyodor he his ability can't work (like i said about adam i think his ability only works on human beings?)
too bad the guy has disappeared years ago :/
but like i personally dare fyodor to go ahead and possess THAT. if he can do that i think we should just let him win.
Tumblr media
7- Atsushi
Tumblr media
he's the MC ffs since atsushi's ability's claws can "slash through skills and space" (according to akutagawa), maybe his ability won't activate if he gets killed by the tiger.
like if he kills him as the tiger, it'll somehow (??) get past his ability?
yeah that's it! ALSO please do tell me if i missed anyone who can potentially defeat fyodor!!! (or if I'm wrong about anything)

Idk if it was ever said, but I have a little headcanon/theory that Masha is Russian
Basically, the only thing It's based on is their name, bc Masha (Maria) is a Russian name, yeah, but I like this idea, bc there actually not so many Russian characters in media, and most of them are too stereotypical, so having a non-blonde Russian character is a super rare thing (Ik only Fyodor and Red Star who aren't blonde, so) that I want to have.
She also kinda looks asian, so I think she could be mixed. Since there are many nationalities in Russia, I would guess one of her parents is Slavic and the other one is Tatar
Also I think it makes sense for Eda, Lilith and Kikimora to be slavic, since they're based on Slavic culture characters (Baba Yaga, probably Kashchei the Immortal (she could also be based on Lilith from Jewish culture, but we'll take the slavic part now, bc of Eda, Kiki and some other references) and Kikimora). Name "Eda" exists in many cultures, including such slavic cultures as Russian, Ukrainian and Croatian, so Eda could be either
While name Lilith doesn't exist in slavic countries. It's related to Jewish mythology, but also is Armenien name. Armenia isn't slavic tho, but it was a part of the USSR and partly a part of Russian Empire, but even so the cultures are completely different and Armenia doesn't include slavic mythology anyways, so there is definitely a cunfusion, since we can see that Dana took different things from different cultures for the same family. And mixing different cultures right (if doing it at all) is super hard. So, Lilith was most likely based on a Jewish demon, but plays a role of Kashchei the Immortal, who was Baba Yaga's "evil brother". It's also interesting how Lilith is the only known Clawthorne female family member whose name doesn't end with "lyn" (Edalyn, Gwendolyn, Evelyn). So I could make a crazy theory that Lilith and Eda are half sisters and Gwen is only Eda's biolgical mother, while Lilith has a different biolgical mother who is Jewish (and may be Dell is Jewish too??). It kinda also explains why Lilith and Gwen's hair are so different and why Gwen didn't pay enought attention to Lilith (besides Eda having a curse), which is actually really sad...
Yeah, I know It's just random thoughts/theories and probably have nothing to do with canon, but now this idea seems even more interesting to me. Even tho I didn't plan any of these and just wanted to share my hc about Masha's nationality...
Anyways, have a good day!

// BSD 114 SPOILERS
NEW THEORY ABOUT FYODOR FUCKING DOSTOYEVSKY
We found out that his ability was, in fact, not the touch of death thing he had going on for him.
That was an extension of Hawthorne's ability, using blood bullets that could instantly kill. He would use then for every instance we see him kill someone with only a touch.
Tumblr media
We can deduce that the reason for this was because he didn't want anyone to ever touch him. He wanted to avoid that condition at all costs.
Why, is now the main question. Why would Fyodor want to avoid touch so much. Why go through the lengths and pains of making sure people were terrified of even being near him?
The simple reason is cause, it would fuck woth his ability. His ability is now basically confirmed to be immortality. Or at least, a weird version of it.
This is my guess.
He can switch his corpse with the life of someone else. This is an ability that transcends time. He can switch and all its functionalities with someone else and essentially warp through time because of it.
He still needs to experience death for this to happen, and the condition is still that he needs to touch someone for his ability to work. But that is not the only condition. He needs to touch someone AND he needs to die for his ability to activate.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When this happens, he switches bodies with the person he last touched, but keeps his appearance. He transfers all scars, injuries, aging and such to the person he switches with.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ANOTHER VERSION WOULD BE:
His ability works with the last person who killed him. He switches places with the oerson who killed him last. And now, it should be the helicopter driver, who is very much dead, or Dazai, who made the whole plan.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Or it could be Nikolai, since Fyodor was still very much poisoned and the ability may consider Nikolai to be his killer.
Tumblr media
In any case, Fyodor has an ability that renders him unable to die, and drags other eople, whether he wills it or not, into it.
He may, as a religious person who considers death to be a blessing, take this as abilities being unatural and against the plan of God. He wants to eradicate all abilites because he has seen first hand what those who have abilities and have been affected by said abilities may do.
I'll link my previous theory that basically rxplains this here
EDIT: I can't believe I've done this. Hoe could I miss this?
Okay, so the blood splashing and veins popping is the same shit that happened to Kyoka's parents. We never found out who the ability user was in this case, so it could very well be Fyodor.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, the issue with this is that Kyoka's parents were anke to be controlled while in the case of the knight, the guy was just switched with Fyodor when the rat died.
So either Asagiri made Fyodor extremely OP or these are two abilities that are very much connected but not the same.
In any case, this does make the whole timeline of BSD a shit ton more complicated cause Fyodor could very well predict the future wit his ability.

Honestly, if bsd is going the way it appears to be going based on the new chapter, I'm going to lose all interest in it.
Spoilers for new chapter // Warning I'm severely sleep deprived, so this likely isn't coherent or articulate
Fyodor seems like such a deep and complex character, and exploring his mind and past would be interesting. I want to see how his mind works, and possibly see where his religious beliefs(Which could also be fake) started. I deeply relate to him personality-wise, and I wish he could have a more realistic and "human" backstory, because it would do so much for his character.
Instead, it looks like it could be another basic, shallow, "oOoOh he's immortal!" which is already seen too often as a "twist" in anime/manga. I knew that this could potentially be a route they take, but I'm disappointed to actually see it. I hope it just isn't what it looks like. I have other theories for it, and I hope those are right instead.
If the magic/power aspects of the story are used too heavily, it takes a lot away from the realistic/relatable part of the series.

helloo the final panel of the leaks has me screaming ARE WE FINALLY GETTING FEDYA BACKSTORY????
Gosh I hope so!!! Again I’m hoping he’s uh… what I’m going to call “human with a twist”, much like Dazai (whatever his deal is) or Chuuya (government singularity project) or Sigma (Book created/called person), rather than genuinely inhuman.
I really want a sympathy for the devil moment here. We need to have something; we learned basically nothing about the guy, but his intentions, like most of the Decay I think, are oddly well meant. He doesn’t have a god complex; he believes himself to be literally carrying out god’s will for a world free of sin. Why? And why then, if he cares so much, does he still consider most others with a certain disdain?
In terms of theories, I am intrigued by the immortal Fyodor thinking, as well as the clone thing. I also wonder about his ability given it’s odd behaviour and the agreement they seem to have in Dead Apple (“Crime and Punishment are good friends” or whatever he said; paraphrasing here), and the location of the ability crystal (on his hand where most others were on the forehead - barring Atsushi’s on the back of the tiger’s neck and Akutagawa’s in rashoumon’s stomach), his whole “you can’t kill me”, and the way his ability has only killed non-powered people so far. There’s a lot of different ways his character could go and I’m very excited for it!

Torn between two theories about Bram: his ability makes him immortal in a roundabout way and maybe he can only be truly killed by typical vampire means so he was able to "resurrect" through another vampire. So basically Bram and Fyodor just ended up body swapping instead of Fyodor killing him.
And that the "Bram" Aya saw was a hallucination and it was actually Akutagawa she saw. Bram's in different clothes there. BUT it also could've been that Bram body-swapped with him, which means Akutagawa ends up without a body and is dead but not really since we know he's fine in the anime ending. I DON'T KNOW. I think since Bram had a command over a vampire army though that his convictions were passed down to all of them so Aya thinks she's seeing him and that's about as much as I got.

more chapter 113 thoughts
I'm guessing Fyodor's supposed to have a "judge" role; he's Crime & Punishment, the right hand of god & all that. He's the Judge, and his ability seems to only kill certain people; Nikolai touches him multiple times without problem. he purposfully killed Karma. no clue what happened with the police officer.
ok so now we know there's probably a reason Bram & fyodor never (?) interact directly during the DoA from what we've seen.
I'm honestly kinda startles & confused by fyodor being centuries old bc?? there's absolutely no hints about this?? we know he's different from other ability users bc of dead apple, but the only hint we had about him being immortal(?) is the Untold Origins moment where he appears for a short time looking exactly the same as current time & mayyyybe his seemingly random title as a demon.
If he's influenced ANYTHING during the time he's lived, it had to all be subtly. He obviously has looked basically the same for most of the time, which is odd considering NO ONE MENTIONS that he looks the same as a few decades ago or ANYTHING
is he immortal, or does he just have eternal youth? will he come back somehow?
it wouldn't make sense for him to just. live. A friend pointed out that this was the ONLY TIME his plans went explicitly wrong, and it'd be pretty poetic if he died because of it.
very little actually pointed to him being like this unless we consider the "demon" title, "right hand of god" thing, or no actual explaination of his ability as hints.
something seems... wrong here... and I'm not sure what.

Why Port Mafia will stay as vampires
Hello~~
This time I wanted to broach something different^^
I usually like to check fandom opinions when new chapter drops and there was something that really puzzled me – that lot of fans thinks that vampirism needs to healed and like it is the worst thing that happened to our characters.
I mean I understand feeling protective about characters – ofc, it is bad to lose free will, but from story perspective it is just another trial to test our heroes and help them grow. They will be fine, don’t worry^^
But still, no matter how this arc will conclude I think that PM will stay as vampires and here are my reasons:
PM is coded similarly as vampires from very beginning
You know the basic – both vampires and PM are strongly associated with night and death.
Tumblr media
As part of Tripartite Tactic PM stands for night. Moreover, through the story PM is compared to night very often -  maybe even almost enough for drinking game xD
“The merciless tyrant of the night and his army of the death – that was what people called Port Mafia”
“It’s time to remind our enemies why we used to be called the terror of the night”
– both from Fifteen
“Mafia takes their role as ‘Wardens of the night’ seriously” – Dazai about PM in ch 46
“Whatever pride they have in their speed, they can’t run from ‘the night’ forever” – Mori in ch 46
There is probably more, but you know the drill.
As for death – mafia rules through power dominance and killing is not a problem to anybody from that group. It is just the way they works.
And visually too – i mean, just look:
Tumblr media
Especially in anime, they gave him so much vampire lord aura xD In manga too, his ‘doctor’ attire is just an act and his true self is PM leader in that fitting clothing - black trench coat, red scarf and white gloves – which all are very vampire style. Through this perspective even Elise can be interpreted that way – immortal being in a form of young girl – just like Claudia from Interview with the Vampire.
Speaking of that novel  - you know there is also insanely powerful redhead with bad temper xD Though it can be just coincidence as personality-wise Armand and Chuuya are very different and have rather opposite morals xD
Let’s move to Aku:
Tumblr media
Whole Akutagawa appearance is much reminiscent of vampire – pale complexion, black coat with white jabot - really give that feel. Also Akutagawa uses a bit of archaic language, which is something often appearing in vampire stories too.
Frankly, imo from the start Asagiri thought of Akutagawa (and maybe whole PM) eventually becoming vampire – after all, our MC Atsushi is were-tiger (as a spin on werewolf) and in pop-culture natural opposite of werewolves are vampires just like Atsushi-Aku are.
Vampire healing as power-up
If you look at it practically – vampire healing can actually be really useful for main PM characters:
Chuuya – healing will help a lot sustaining wounds during Corruption (I am 80% sure we will going to see it in next chapters) and maybe even vampire mind control will help with controlling Arahabaki
Akutagawa – healing as bypassing his incurable illness. Just honestly, I would be very surprised if Asagiri intends Aku to stay dead for good – he is just too important to Atsushi and Dazai character arc
Tachihara – as Hunted dog he needs monthly check-ups to not die. Healing would render that not needed if Asagiri intends for him to stay in PM, which is most likely as he is ‘true mafioso’ at heart
Even for rest of PM like Higuchi, Gin – healing would be strong asset as well.
To sum it up, it is just too good opportunity on too many levels to let it slip
Vampirism and abilities are not bad
It is important to look at it from thematic perspective – abilities are not villains of the story but the people who use them in wrong way.
Vampirism is not the main problem to our protagonist, but the fact that Fukuchi and Fyodor use such methods (vampirism, one order), which robs people of their free will to achieve what they want. Even if their goal is not necessarily malevolent in its nature – still it is very ‘the end justifies the means’ approach which is morally bad one.
Tumblr media
Especially it is important that source of vampirism – Bram is just being used by DoA and he personally doesn’t want to create any fledglings. But again, because Fukuchi controls him via sword – he had no choice but to spread the infection or die.
My guess is that we will see Atsushi running into Aya and Bram in next chapters and that after internal struggle he will realize that killing Bram is not a option - that ADA goal should be to free all vampires from mind control. Even it could go how usually vampire stories go – that vampirism as skill will be transferred to someone from PM (probably Mori or Aku, though it can be also Fyodor), who will switch off mind control.
And this would grant happy ending for Bram too – starting to live as normal human - pretty please, poor man has been through a lot T_T
Ofc it is just my theory and story can go other way – but still it makes more sense to me than simply healing everybody from vampirism and returning to status-quo. But we will see~~
Thanks for reading and have a nice day💖 💖 💖

Greetings, Anon! Thank you for your questions. I have to admit, even in the past, I refrained from posting reactions or speculations as BSD chapters release, but you already knew that, so I will indulge you. I'll answer each part of your ask. BSD ch113 thoughts below, manga spoilers ahead.
♠ "What was your raw reaction?" It was not a calm, quiet one, I can tell you that. No, in fact I screamed with excitement as if I was in a Roman amphitheatre and my favourite gladiator just got back up on his feet, out of sheer force of will, grinning and sweaty. My scream was the fastest way I could "verbalize" the fact that I was overjoyed to see him alive again, even if it's in the 15th century, and on top of that he seemed to be some kind of spy monk all chained up and having what seems to be a ridiculous amount of fun getting caught and discussing with Bram. This is all very in-character for him.
♠ "Was that something you expected?" Absolutely not. Yes, yes, I truly did not expect a jump back in time and this infobomb drop, despite the fact that we did get a few hints that Fedya seemed present at past events when all the other character really appeared younger than him (near the end of S4ep3, where on a rooftop Fedya says "It's not V, it's Five" and I am seriously like bruh I give up what I want to say is I need more data to work with, what am I supposed to do with this, rationally speaking?). However, we can't yet extract anything conclusive from this. Is he ageless? A time-traveler? Immortal? Does he revive? When was he born? Was he born at all or created differently somehow? Is he of BSD's world, or an external one (Beast liveaction finale anyone?)? Is this all within the Book and he's just… idk flipping the pages? Anything is possible and I refuse to spend a lot of time working with incomplete data. This is not very follower-friendly (as in, my blog is basically inactive in-between), I know and I apologize, but if after many chapters there will be something worthwile to add to my essay (with what Fukuchi said in ch113 I already have important stuff to add), under those circumstances I will consider writing an update. It's not yet time.
♠ "<Was that> something you felt different for the characterization we all made for Fyodor?" Hmm, I would hesitate to refer to a characterization "we all made" for him (I wish! T o T), because my analysis and blog are but a tiny tiny part of the fandom (I think…? I wonder about my Fedya essay's reach or influence sometimes). But let's say here we refer to one that comes close to what I tried to show in my essay. In that case, I would say that there is nothing to fear here in this chapter, but it's very understandable to have massive trust issues at this point. We went through a miserable, miserable time when the previous ones made the guy who visually memorized a full deck of used cards somehow not notice Chuuya wearing contacts and fake vampire teeth, despite knowing the vampire race since… well, the 15th century! I cannot even begin to describe what I felt reading ch111.5-112, I was beyond repulsed. Lovers of "villain" characters understand the following thing well: in most media, our fav has to lose, he has to die or disappear at some point, with rare exceptions. I, too, know this well, but that was no compelling way to solve BSD's villain threat. I still don't know how BSD will wash away that narrative stain, as I consider it, but then again one of the reasons we love this manga is that it keeps us on the edge of our seats and the most absurd yet fun turns can happen out of the blue. We can reasonably ask ourselves: ok, what is the purpose of showing Fedya's backstory now? If it's for build-up, we can already start grinning like Cheshire cats. What could possibly be next? I'm cautiously optimistic, things look in-character and good to me. Very good, in fact.
♠ "Or do you think it is later on going add some depth to his character?" Backstories are shown usually for a very clear purpose. We don't know the purpose yet, but if it's done well, then… then my whole essay could be at risk lmao (and I love this sensation). New info could add so much depth to his character, in fact, that his previously observed traits could gain new meanings, or even contradictory ones. Whichever it will be, I think it's pretty safe to bet on "his backstory will be very relevant".
♠ Bonus: even if I enjoy going "full analytical" and enter conference speech mode when asked, I am driven by strong emotions, by which I want to say – I am not immune to assassin/spy monk Fedya chained up like that and having the time of his life again. I missed seeing him entertained like that, and his current …………. visual representation in the.. uh. ..chapter, yeah, well, it's doing things to my Depeche Mode-worshipping heart.
Anyway, to conclude with some facts we know as of now:
a. Fedya and Bram are inside the Bran Castle, close to the Romanian city of Brașov, "deep in the Carpathians" although not built at high altitude itself. It's basically a fortress built between 1377-1388, with several later additions. The BSD representation of it is very accurate to how it looks today. It's near perfect, actually, I applaud.
b. Bram mentions King Matthias, and in this context that can only mean Matthias Corvinus, King of Hungary for 1458-1490. The meeting between Fedya and Bram thus happens some year during his reign, when Transylvania was still part of the Kingdom of Hungary. What is still strange to me is that I can't pinpoint Bram's exact position, as in… were his people independent? Or avoided? I feel like I need to re-read past Bram-related chapters to think about this.
c. Nevermind Bram, the things that Fukuchi says, those are the real goldmine here, but the gold is still… encrypted? I mean: Fedya made the DoA plan (more than confirmed now), and because Fukuchi asked for the condition to keep casualties under 500, Fedya respected that and we got entertained for like half of the whole BSD manga: using coin bombs for terror, for economic/political destabilization, using the vampire infection to avoid further violence, these things. The more you think about it, the more insane it gets. Since Fedya agreed to this condition, it means causing (more) deaths and violence were expendable things to him. (But imagine this: Fukuchi said "I want max. 500 deaths" and Fedya said "Yeah I can do that", now if Fukuchi would've said "I want max. 2 deaths" I really believe Fedya would've still said "Yeah I can do that". What can't he do, especially since murder for murder's sake isn't his goal?). This is in perfect harmony with his "necessary deaths only" approach so far, and much much more. There are far more implications in what Fukuchi said, which I won't type out here now. Gotta keep them and build around them for a future analysis update.
This was a rather long read, but still, I hope this satisfies your curiosities, Anon. *bows dramatically & disappears in a borderline insufferable ENTP way*

Need a friend who is as equally rwby and bungo stray dogs trash as I am so I can make comparisons between the characters in each series without it making no sense lol
Gonna just list off a few comparisons I have in my head below the cut because I just need to talk about it lol.
There is a spoiler or two for the most recent bsd manga chapter (114.5). And some for the last couple seasons of RWBY but I'm not naming names and also that's been out for a while now
With Fyodor's ability revealed, he's like if Oz and Salem had been combined into one person but Salem's moral code won out over Ozma's
I can even make a comparison to the RWBY relics with the end of chapter 114.5 like come ON, he combines three basically god given things and seemingly is about to destroy the world with the power they create together
A main character who is literally a cat
(side character who is literally a cat)
*vague Storm Bringer spoiler* Teenage redheads experiencing a soul-related identity crisis over whether they're even human enough to call themselves one (and end up needing to save the world at the cost of confirming it)
Characters are inspired by literature and literary figures (mostly at least. in rwby some are historical figures like Joan of Arc)
Horribly mistreated orphan antagonist obsessed with power and strength and the praise of a horrible role model because at one point that horrible role model was the only thing that gave them a reason to live
Found family, like so much found family
Characters who abandoned the criminal organization they were a part of to become a good guy because the (literal or figurative) loss of a loved one made them realize they needed to escape
(figurative as in like in RWBY Adam was very much alive when Blake ran away, but the version of him she thought was good was definitely long dead by then and that was the trigger for her to defect)
Individualized powers that only some people have!
Redhead with a power that lets them control metal
The big bad keeps getting out big-baded by a bigger bad as the story goes
Giant terrifying sky whale capable of destroying the city
Terrible (and now dead) father figures
Unexpected immortality!
Beloved character and their beloved motorcycle
Cool team attacks that the fandom loses their shit over every time
I'm sure I could come up with more, but at this point I'm kind of stretching for it. I'm sure some of these can apply to several different series tbh

Ok so now we know fyodors ability which is basically immortality so the only person who could kill him is dazai but in the last episode we got a glimpse of aku and atsu about to fight a big giant monster so if that’s what fyodor becomes now that he’s activated a polarity how are they gonna kill him? Because they can’t have sskk kill him or else they’ll have their bodies taken over by him so what are they fighting????? Or is it a plan for them to wear fyodor down and distract him so dazai can get to him and kill him????????

I'VE ACTUALLY THOUGHT OUT EXACTLY HOW I THINK THE GAIDEN CHARACTERS SHOULD APPEAR IN THE MAIN MANGA IN DETAIL BECAUSE I'M SO ABNORMAL ABOUT THEM AND BASICALLY. Since Tsujimura's mother is mentioned as being the assistant director, and since Taneda is currently in a coma, it makes complete sense that she's currently running the entire Special Division from the shadows while the main director is incapacitated. And since it seems like she orchestrated Tsujimura's entire life to set her up for success in her footsteps (which is really sad actually but that's a different topic) (if you want to hear me talk about how tragic Tsujimura is to me though then just ask and I'll appear in your inbox with an incoherent essay), it also makes sense that she would have plans for Tsujimura now. So if it's been a year, her shadow ability might have grown back significantly, and the Special Division is probably using her more frequently than they did before. So with the arrival of the DOA, they need more helping hands, so she's probably pulling all-nighter after all-nighter trying to keep up. Since the vampire outbreak is dangerous, and so is Ayatsuji, I wouldn't be surprised if the Special Division moved him back into containment (it was mentioned that he was kept in a sort of jail before being let out into his office in the light novel). They're probably also making him work on the DOA case from behind bars, but I imagine it's proving to be difficult even for him because of the Book and stuff. But since it seems like the last 40-ish manga chapters have all occurred within the span of like 2 weeks, it's not surprising that Ayatsuji hasn't been able to crack the DOA case yet, considering how long he spent on Kyougoku. But basically. I think Tsujimura will show up eventually at the airport or something, Tsujimura's mother will be mentioned as being the current acting director, and, if we're lucky, the Special Division will whack out Ayatsuji to obliterate the DOA. But that would be too easy of an ending, so maybe Asagiri decided to vampirize Ayatsuji or something, and maybe the Special Division is using that as an opportunity to see how the vampiric virus affects people. So then that gives the Special Division more incentive to rescue Dazai and Aya + Bram, so that Dazai could nullify Bram's ability, thus freeing Ayatsuji and allowing him to bring things to an end. But Asagiri likes twists, so maybe it'll then be revealed that Fyodor is somehow immune to accidental deaths or something, and then there'll be some singularity tomfoolery, and maybe there'll be another moment where Ango explains singularities to people (and another opportunity for Tsujimura to learn about singularities). Sorry this is so long and rambly, but basically there's SO MUCH potential for Gaiden characters in the current timeline, but it's hard to predict exactly how their entrance will play out. Since Kyougoku is still haunting Ayatsuji, it's possible that Asagiri might whack out something like "Kyougoku used to work for the DOA", since it was mentioned in the light novel that Kyougoku used to collaborate with various agencies on tough cases before breaking away and deciding to go on an epic journey to achieve immortality through memery. Also wait I just remembered, there's that whole Interlude thing where Kyougoku reflects on his memories from the womb, which is an absolutely bizarre thing to include, and seems out-of-place from the rest of the light novel. Maybe he's somehow also related to the Book? Kyougoku would've died about a year and a half before the main manga, and Sigma appeared three years ago, so maybe Kyougoku had a hand in creating Sigma as someone to parallel himself? If I remember correctly, Sigma appeared alone in a desert with a train ticket (?) and earrings, which is really specific, and seems like the sort of elaborate plot Kyougoku would set up, considering the guy's love of symbolism and overarching themes. So what if Kyougoku had the Book first and created Sigma from it? (1/2, I'm so sorry for how long this is :'D)
my god. this is a lot of words /pos
so i haven’t actually read this whole message through yet and instead i plan on writing exactly how i feel reading specific sentences so. here we go!!’
I THOUGHT SO TOO!! it makes a lot of sense too because her ability is considered combat oriented, and like i mentioned before, it should hypothetically be grown back to size and completely free from Another’s persecution by now. i guess the big question is if Tsujimura-san will give the shadow back to guard Tsujimura, which would reveal she was alive, or she’d keep it to herself. obvi there are other options, like sticking it on someone else (say, Ayatsuji, who does need physical protection, or even Ango, who might have more enemies than she herself), but those two are what i think is most likely…
please tell me about how sad Tsujimura’s life is oh my god not a single person i know has read gaiden (for good reason GIVE US AN OFFICIAL TRANSLATION) and i would love nothing more than to brainrot with someone over it .. the whole, “i called my maid ‘mom’ and i wanted my mother to get angry, to fire her, to anything, but she didn’t even care, and that’s what hurt me the most” made me go OOOOOGHHHHHHH… OUCHHHHH… i’m summoning you, o divine Another Anon, to rant to me once again…
yeah, it’s def unlikely to me she’s just there and not doing anything, i myself have been wondering how she’s supporting the division, especially since Taneda, if anything, is her replacement rather than her being his secondary self. it would be cool if he ended up being locked in with Tsujimura-san, right? as far as security goes, that’s damn near the tightest place one can get.
also, it’s strange to me how nobody knows about Ayatsuji. they mention the ADA multiple times, but the ADA never talk about him. is the government keeping the secret on purpose? do people know and just feel removed enough considering they’re in different cities to ignore it?? but Ayatsuji would be a massive help to them, given his almost-Ranpo-level brains, so… it’s always been a source of confusion. at the least, wouldn’t Fukuchi know about him and take some precautionary measures, as someone who worked for the government and should therefore be aware of their literal number one danger?
similarly, Ayatsuji doesn’t exactly work for the government, so does that mean he knew the ADA weren’t terrorists…? to begin with, gaiden is a novel that exists because the fans wanted it to, and Asagiri only began writing after Tsujimura reached out to him, so it’s completely possible that gaiden and canon are two entirely separate entities to him, but i really don’t want it to be that way .. the intense urge to gatekeep Kyougoku and also share him to the world is wild….
thinking of Another and Crime and Punishment mingling together… the theories on CaP being unable to work on ability-users is very interesting, especially due to the evidence it has to back it up, and while Another does, thinking of how “accidental death” in this situation could be a synonym for “punishment” and thus negated by Fyodor because he and “punishment” are close friends … don’t mind me as i turn into a puddle on the floor….
without the context of Another, “receive immortality through memery” is a really absurd sentence, and i love it. BUT. Kyougoku potentially knowing Fyodor is interesting indeed… it’s so funny that his tsukimono is just haunting Ayatsuji… actually, every time i write about Ayatsuji, i also include Kyougoku saying random snarky things to him while he’s just living his life and him replying out loud knowing damn well nobody else can see it. hell, the man watches him when he’s sleeping, i wouldn’t put but past him to whisper absolutely obscene things into Ayatsuji’s ear in the middle of work just for fun, but we’re getting off topic.
the prospect of Sigma being a familiar spirit is actually very interesting and i haven’t it considered before, but hearing you now… hoho… i had always assumed Kyougoku’s little soliloquy a setup for the reader to understand his motives, but Asagiri is definitely the sort of person to do that only for a few years later to say, “you know this thing nobody read? it’s actually incredibly necessary to the lore haha.” that being said, gaiden’s afterword was a little unusual- most of the time Asagiri ends things with, “let us meet again in the next novel,” or “i hope you’re looking forward to what the future holds” or something like that, but gaiden was more like, “so here’s why i wrote this book also DAMN i got anxiety writing it,” so i dunno, i just want more gaiden content…..
now, onto the next rant you sent me

KATIE!!! I'm sorry I'm late ajdlslfkdkf but I had to drop in and ask, HOW ARE YOU DOING AFTER FYODOR'S EPIC REVEAL?? CAN YOU BELIEVE HE GOT A COMEBACK IN THE MOST GLORIOUS WAY POSSIBLE?? From theorizing it to finally having it in the actual manga, it's been a long time journey hasn't it?! :'D
I went back to read our old posts and you were really close in some of the parts like his ability being to "punish" someone "he" thought committed a "sin" (basically killing him lol). Please let me hear all your thoughts!! I'm also so happy for you!! I'm really glad they didn't finish off his character with the awful mersault death plot 😭😭
@kunikiiida-kuuun KRIS THIS WAS LITERALLY ME READING THE CHAPTER:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I MEAN WHAT A FUCKING ENTRANCE:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've been thinking about all my old theories, and maaaan, I would have never imagined something quite like this. It's true that we were right about Fyodor's Ability "punishing" someone who has committed a "crime," though I wouldn't have thought that "crime" or "sin" was literally killing Fyodor himself, lol. And I WAS right that he is immortal (kind of?)!! Or at least that he's been around for hundreds of years!! I also seem to be right that he doesn't age, though I guess we'll have to wait and see if it's explained why his appearance hasn't changed in centuries.
It still hasn't been explained how he's able to kill with a touch, however. This hasn't been explained:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are definitely more secrets to be uncovered when it comes to Fyodor, so it remains to be seen if there's more to his Ability or if this will end up being an inconsistency.
I think the true nature of Fyodor's Ability is really interesting in terms of Dostoevsky's novels, too. "Possession" (though not in the literal sense) is a motif that occurs in a couple of his novels, most notably Demons, but also, to an extent, The Brothers Karamazov and Crime and Punishment. In Demons the "possession" is specifically "demonic possession" in the biblical sense, though again, it isn't literally in the biblical sense, just the overarching symbolism. I actually started to write a meta about this several chapters back, so maybe I'll finish it, haha.
I definitely did not imagine that Fyodor would take over Bram. Poor Bram :( But damn does he look good in Bram's clothes and wielding the holy sword and Fukuchi's time bullshit sword 🥵
Also poor Genichirou :(
This doesn't really fix the issues with the Meursault arc, but if Fyodor really sent himself to prison in order to trick Dazai into sending himself to prison, too, that does actually explain the bizarre decision to get himself arrested in the first place, which was one of my biggest gripes. There are still plenty of other problems, but whatever, I guess sdfghjhfghjk.
I was becoming less invested in the series since the Infamous Helicopter Crash and the Dazai Friendship Speech of Doom, but I'm finally excited again!!! I'm really curious to see where this is gonna go. I know Fyodor is going to be defeated somehow, but I hope he causes all sorts of chaos first, he deserves to ଘ(੭ˊᵕˋ)੭* ੈ✩‧˚ ♡♡
Also Fyodor and Ranpo interaction maybe??? It better happen or I'm gonna be like (╮°-°)╮┳━━┳ ( ╯°□°)╯ ┻━━┻
asdfgdfgh Kris, I can't believe we've gotten this far, it's been years and we're finally getting answers. I'm so happy omggg. But I swear BSD just keeps getting wilder and wilder lmao
*hugs* 🤗🤗💖💖
