Shnazsnit the Astonishing (Public Enemy No.9)

I have started on my chaotic children's book about my troublemaking delight of a creation, Shnazsnit.

Here is her description.

Shnazsnit was short and scraggly with long white hair and skin the colour of green pond-scum. She had two short tusks which jutted up nicely above each corner of her bottom lip, a sharp chin, even sharper ears, and a long green tail with not one, not two, but three tufts on the end. Shnazsnit was very proud of these – most orcs could only grow one tuft or maybe two. Three was unusual and often meant the owner was destined for great things. That wasn’t the main reason Shnazsnit liked them. It was also because each of those tufts were at the end of a three-way split, just at the end of her tail, and she could move the tips independently which made pulling pranks and climbing away from angry adults far easier. That was also why she liked her sharp nails on her fingers and toes, although those had yet to grow properly. She would have to wait a whole three years at least before they caught up with her current growth and hardened into the retractable claws like her mother’s, her father’s, and her grown-up neighbours’.   She wasn’t a very patient orc.

Sneak peak for Star Trek : Athena, Ep 1 - Just Another Day

Miram glanced back at the woman as the corners of her painted lips turned upward. She reminded her of a barn cat that liked to play with mice before biting their heads off. It was an unnerving thought.

Many of her former peers had told her that she had a horrible judge of character. She just hoped for the sake of her sanity and career, she was wrong about her assumptions this time.

“Oh, boy. Here we go.” The man next to her looked unperturbed and went back to reading something on his PADD.

“Rank and name, kid,” she said. “Quickly.”

“Ensign Tobin ch’Zynes. Operations.” He rattled out. “I’d say ‘Pleasure to meet you’ but you don’t look very happy to do so.”

The woman chuckled. “Oh, a wise ass. Haven’t seen that before. Gotta admit, that’s pretty ballsy.”

Tobin shrugged, “I aim to please, Ma’am.”

Miram stepped in, sensing the storm gathering behind her eyes. “I’m Ensign Miram Tauri, ma’am. Engineering.”

“Oh, yes. You’re both new. I am Lieutenant Elaine D’Aureville. Navigator.” She gently nudged the man next to her who shot her an irritated look. “This delightful man here is our wonderful doctor, Michael E. Jenner. He’ll be the one to fix you up if you get into trouble. You can call him Mike—“

“Don’t call me Mike,” he said, putting his PADD away, giving up on reading. “It’s either Doctor Jenner or Micheal.”

Elaine snorted, nudging his side with her elbow. “And you tell me I’m uptight.”

He picks up her smoothie, swirling the blue and purple concoction. “You are.”

Miram cleared her throat, her own strawberry smoothie forgotten. “So…what’s it like being on the Athena?”

“Finally, something interesting to discuss.” Tobin leaned forward. “It can’t be as bad as the rumors I’ve heard.”

“Well, kid.” Elaine said. “It’s definitely something.”

Miram frowned at Elaine calling her kid.

“Define ‘something’,” Tobin said.

Elaine just grinned. “Trust me, you’ll find out. It's not like you have anywhere else to go.”

Miram and Tobin exchanged a look.

“She’s exaggerating,” Michael said, taking a sip of his smoothie. “Mostly.”

If Slenderman had never noticed Kate, maybe he would have moved in with Lauren, they would have gotten married, they would have a daughter...

I've been thinking about this ask a lot ever since I got it.. it makes me giddy... This is going to be very headcanoned base with little inferences from the actual game haha

Well first of all for slenderman to not notice kate, CR would have to not enter her life so SCORE! (sorry for the CR hate ehe..) Anyways in a normal universe I still think Lauren and Kate would drift away after high school.. It's hard for Lauren to call Kate when she's dealing with her family's farm for the large part of her day after all

Still, going with the storyline of Kate's mother dying and her wanting to sell the house, I think that's when Kate and Lauren's relationship really starts to bloom again.. Lauren drops practically everything just to come meet her again face to face and although she still arrives at nearly 10pm it doesn't even matter.. The sparks are still there and it's like they were kids again hunched over Kate's family computer just searching for a new place for Kate instead of Neopets..

they stayed up until the morning and Kate felt bad having Lauren drive all the way back and still do farm work so she let Lauren sleep in her car and drove her back... I feel like after that while Kate continues to clean up the house and get it ready to be sold, she'd visit Lauren and soon enough she'd just stay the night.. a few days.. until Lauren just asked if she wanted to stay there with her

It takes a bit after moving in with each other for them to fully admit their feelings and get together but the tension was so thick whenever they'd see each other doing mundane things around the house it was just impossible to ignore

hehe now their wedding.. it'll be small as I feel that Kate would become a little reclusive after her mom died and she wouldn't have many connections.. Kate would pursue college afterwards online while helping in the farm when she can heehee...

One thing I do disagree with is that they'd adopt.. I don't see Kate and Lauren having kids I apologizee.. Though I think as they grow old they'd have some farmhands that they practically treat as their kids so there's that!!
