@wynn-ing ur What Remains fic is so good. i desperately need to know whats going on in others brains with their voices. also a prequel fic with pasha and hunted would be big "accidental baby aquistion" vibes

just caught up with what remains and fuck im so invested in ur little guys - question tho, how long has each voiced been with their voices? i know eti had para for only a year at the start of the series, and pasha and hunted have been together for his whole life - but what abt the others? sorry if this was mentioned somewhere in whats already written my brain is swiss cheese

it's not really a spoiler at all! At most some of them may hint some things but nothing that'll make any sense unless it comes up, so here's the list;

Etti: as you said, since about a year before the first fic

Page: a few months before Etienne, so about a year and a half before the first fic

Locke: since they were like 16! Hero showed up in the middle of an exam and they got kicked out for shrieking at the top of their lungs. He's apologetic but they don't mind, it was only Physics. They weren't going to pass anyway, they didn't study for it at all.

Pasha: Hunted showed up when he was only 5. This went exactly as you'd expect for both of them

Loren: summoned the Wild when they were 13, after having been told by the doctor they had maybe 2 years left at best. They figured they'd give alternative medicine (read: summoning a literal god into their body) a chance. It worked! This was 3 years after they first met Pasha btw

Mal: she's had smitten for ... I don't know the exact number of years, she's being cagey, but she got him in uni so anywhere between 18 and 24 depending on when she went to uni. She likes to only reveal things to me when they're funny or dramatic so this info is new to me too. All I knew before was that she's had him for 'a long time'. I actually don't know her exact age either she won't say

Leonore: she's had Oppy for 5 years before her introduction into the book, and you saw the rest in realtime.

Envy: only had Cheated for a few months before their introduction into the story

Violet: similarly only had Contrarian for about 9 months before her introduction.

Kyra: has had Cheated for a year and a half.

Ghost: only got Cold like 2 days before his introduction into the story lol.

Alice: summoned Nightmare as a playmate when she was a child. She was only 15 in the first fic.

Foster: inherited their voice from birth

Forrest: summoned Witch like 2 months before being captured

Larissa: :) you'll find out

chapter 3: the unicorn

yes i have a princess oc :]

she branches from the damsel, and would occur when you decide to leave her chained up in the basement, alone. the one she thought would be her hero has abandoned her, so she became her own savior. possible voices would include skeptic, cold, and paranoid. i like to picture her as sounding similar to prisoner, but with a bit more feeling to her -- she's angry with the player and speaks matter-of-factly, and has her own and your destiny in her hands so long as she has the blade.

i drew this mostly because i wanted to emulate the chibi style for stp :]

was very fun -- i loved drawing the eyes

Chapter II: The Dial (Fan Princess)

(more info, chapter III and extra drawings below cut!)

Upon meeting the princess in Chapter I, the hero decides to stay inside the basement with her, in complete silence. However, the end of the world is inevitable, and he ends with it (Or so The Narrator says). That's when you arrive at Chapter II: The Dial.

"I've been waiting for you." Her voice is tired, yet composed. As you make your way downstairs, she appears almost mystical. Her dress is tattered, and her messy hair reaches the dusty floor. But what catches your attention the most is the constant ticking of clocks, all set to different times, and the hourglasses attached to her.

She tells you to sit down and wait, and maybe chat with her. If you wait with her for long enough, the sand in the hourglass will reach the bottom, and she will be free. She will make for a serene heart. Do not mourn her, this is the moment she was waiting for.

But, if you decide to slay her or cut her out despite her protestations, she will explode into a bunch of sand, quickly filling up the basement, then everything goes dark and you die.

Chapter III: The Sandstorm

You find yourself on a deserted path, the flying dust overwhelming you. You go to the cabin, expecting to find a safe place to hide. But to no surprise, the source of the Sandstorm is the princess herself. Approaching her is a difficult task, the fierce wind pulling you in the opposite direction, bombarding your eyes and lungs with dust.

Failing to reach her ends by she destroying what's left of the cabin. If you manage to, however, you'll get to have a chat with her. You have two choices: Hug her, making the storm calm down. This allows you to leave with her. Alternatively, you can "reach for her heart" and slay her, to which she's promptly taken away by Shifty.

I finally made a fan princess! After debating multiple names (from the clock, the hourglass, the ticking, and the eternal), I settled on the dial. I still think it's subject to change, but who knows.
