Scott cawthon feels like evil toby fox, me.

-made hundreds of bad games until he stumbled upon something that worked / first game was an immediate hit

-has been milking the everloving fuck out of his franchise / has released two games, both with free demos

- primarily sticks to one gameplay loop with various minor alterations / is putting their whole pussy into coming up with new takes on the deltarune formua

-scattershot lore riddled with convoluted and contradictory information from hard-to-find and obscure sources, sometimes reconned / tightly packed and self-consistent story with effective foreshadowing that manages to incorporate ARG elements without overshadowing the main story.

-professional video game developer that produced one of the buggiest games known to man / composer who somehow made a game solid enough to resist save file editing despite the code so messy it was practically being held together with crack cocaine and pixie stix

-self admitted republican / was putting gay and trans-allegory main characters into 2015 games

-started a genre of low-effort kids mascot horror games that diluted the impact of the concept / deconstructs RPG mechanics so completely that barely anyone dares to go near the same topics Unless they are making a fan-work of his stuff

-not particularly scary outside of jump-scares / has dabbled in dozens of different kinds of horror and done all of them well

-stepped down after running out of new ideas / keeps subverting all our theories in crazier and crazier ways

One of my favorite parts of that interview was Scott saying that the reason it took so long to find a script he liked was because he wanted to keep the integrity of the innocent spirits inside of the animatronics. They couldn't just be your typical slasher characters because he didn't want to disrespect the fact that the spirits inside the suits are just scared children.
