#Scott pearl fusion

I’ve been really enjoying @chrisrin gemcyt au going on right now and I wanted to draw Scott and pearl cause one love their designs and two I loved them as a duo in last life and then their crazy storyline in double life. I also wanted to design them a fusion and I chose the gemstone Apatite mostly cause it was blue and I found the name funny.

I’m thinking soo hard about a gemcyt Double Life AU rn where the soulmates are fusions. It would make sense since that’s the closest gem alternative to sharing a health bar. But then I also imagine Pearl & Scott and Martyn & Cleo to not be fused. Not being fused while the others are will make them more fragile in comparison, which fits nicely with how you’re not able to protect your soulmate when they’re not a part of your team and am therefore (maybe) more likely to die. Pearl & Scott and Martyn & Cleo would simply not be able to fuse due to the fusion being far too unstable, at least not for extended periods of time like the others. But I also think Scott and Cleo would just prefer to stay unfused as well.

Some fusions would also be more stable than others just in general as well, and I don’t imagine them to be fused ALL of the time (although, definitely most of it as not being fused is a huge security risk. What if your teammate gets shattered while you’re gone? Who are you gonna fuse with then?? You’ll be all your own, and super vulnerable). I imagine Grian’s and BigB’s secret soulmate alliance to be just be them attempting to fuse and having each other as a plan B if their partners are somehow unable.

Grian and Scar’s fusion is silly. I’d like to say it’s one of the more stable ones just because of how they spent 3rd life together as well, but like. We all know it’s probably one of the most unstable ones there. If anything, I reckon them fusing would mostly just be Grian’s way of making sure Scar doesn’t do anything that Grian wouldn’t want him to, pretty much just trying to hold him in place by fusing

Okay so this will probably be my last design for the Gemcyt AU for a bit, but I couldn’t be done without making a Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss fusion of Scott, Pearl, and Cleo.

The gem I chose was boulder opal! Anyway, this is such a fun AU, so props to @chrisrin​ for coming up with it and making so many awesome designs.

HERE ME THE HECK OUT OKAY-

1. After Scott finds out that Jimmy is/did fuse with other gems, he decides to be petty and refuse to fuse with him anymore (which barely lasted), but this lead him to be able to fuse with Pearl and Cleo. Out of sheer pettiness.

2. Owen and Scott were the first human/gem fusion to happen and it was to stop the Bad Boys gems from doing something extremely stupid.

3. Martyn and Ren fuse in secret, but when other members of their unit began go get suspicious Ren gaslights them (because he's a higher rank) and they mysteriously dispear after a "talk with Martyn"

4. When Scar/Spinel goes evil, they do so because they feel as if they're being forgot as newer gems come around. Him and Grian were the first "defector", and want that bond to be something special. (kinda like Scott's story but instead of just refusing to fuse Scar gives in to his negative emotions)

5. Pearlescentmoon/pearl was meant to be Scott's pearl but they were separated before they actually met, and they find it weird how they get along so well.

6. Impulse and Mumbo will be the first to engage with human life, before immediately trying to kill it. That human being X. He'll get over it tho

One of my favorite things in Steven Universe is fusion and my favorite part of fusion is the contrasting unique dance styles of the characters

so here is what I think the gemcyt characters individual styles are

Jimmy I don’t know the style but he has a lot of leg movements and kicks as a reference to his irl love of football 

Grian his style is disco because he had a hippie theme that one time and disco was around during that Time period also he uses that finger to the sky move to poke his partner because he is a little gremlin 

Joel does ballet like the pearls in cannon but even though he is not the shortest in this au he still over compensates by puffing out his chest like a peacock and he is on his tippy toes as much as possible and jumps into the air very often 

Lizzie Hula dancing because her design is based heavily on empires season one lizzie the ocean queen she takes inspiration from island dancing 

Cleo has very stiff movement because she is zombie Cleo and she dances like Michael Jackson in the thriller music video and she dances walk like an Egyptian because mummy’s are Kinda like zombies

Scott does not use his feet because as a sapphire floats and he does not use his legs he spins a lot and he has a very old Scottish style because he is Scottish 

Skizz dances like the prince from Cinderella because he is a prince amongst men

I saw you are doing Gemcyt and I have headcanon about lapis jimmy

Ok so We all know about the canary curse and how Jimmy always dies first well my idea on how to transfer that into a gem au is instead of dying the most he poofs the most 

His form is very breakable so something that other gem’s would be able to power through like a very hard punch could make him retreat into his gem instantly

He would also not be able to keep his form after being stabbed like bismuth during the breakin point fight or Pearl during sword training 

His defective programming is so unnoticeable that he was in denial about it for a very long time and didn’t realize he was an off color until way later 

Sometimes the defective coding that causes his form to be so week will fail completely making him poof at a random time with out an external reason

When he reforms he becomes a shining target because it is literally a full minute of him cycling through all his many many past forms  

Oh he absolutely can't hold his form together well. He's so fragile that a strong enough breeze can poof him. I can imagine Scott and Jimmy are having some sort of date and Jimmy just poofs out of nowhere. Or him and Grian having some sort of banter filled conversation and Grian just playfully punches Jimmy's shoulder and whoops, he poofed!

I can also imagine that he either loves fusing with others because it removes that defect for the duration of the fusion, or he hates it because he feels like he is weakening the fusion with his defect. It either makes him very happy because he feels useful, or crushes his self esteem because he feels like a burden.

And yes, he takes ages reforming because he is putting lots of effort into keeping his form together.

Gemcyt people!

I was listening to the SU ost out of happenstance (it’s all bangers) and I remembered that each gem has her own unique instrument/specific musical cue, probably so they can be incorporated into a fusions theme without using a leitmotif, which don’t stack together at the same time the way instruments do.

Garnet has her buzzing synths. Amethyst has her drumline and vocal “hey” callout (you’ll hear it if you relisten). Pearl and lapis both have piano, but with Pearl in major key and lapis in minor (I think, idk music stuff this is why I’m asking y’all). Even jasper exclusively has cymbal crashes in her themes.

So basically, everyone give me ya thoughts for the gemcyt character’s instruments/cues.

Ok so I mentioned my old gem au in this post and figured, why not share some of the notes I have. Though they are from a year ago....

(@pastelfools helped me brainstorm and bounced ideas around with me!!)

The au might get more development after this, or it might not, we'll see.

Scar is some kinda of quartz soldier. Thats where the scars came from, plus accidents he gets himself into. (His gem is also really scuffed up and has probably almost been cracked before.) Depsite being made for combat, he's really into building and designing things. And being so strong and bulky certainly helps with that!

I made Joel some sort of corrupted gem monster. But don't ask me how the corrupting light works/happened here I never got that far. (He might be a nephrite...)

Xornorth is also here and also corrupted bc I love xornorth and. What is Scott without his boyfriend or brother related angst

Didn't decide on Jimmy’s gem, but he's definitely low ranking

So Jimmy actually WATCHED Joel get corrupted him and he couldn't do anything. He's very desperate to get him back and also feels guilty about just...sitting there.

Jizzie is real in the au. Live laugh love Jizzie.

Lizzie is also trying to get her corrupted boyfriend back. She misses him :[ (her and Jimmy r found family btw!!)

Joel has enough sanity? To recognize jimmy and lizzie can not attack them. Everyone else is fair game tho

Pearlescentmoon is Not A Pearl, even if it would've been an easy choice for me. I dont think a pearl really fits....any of her characters? The pearls we see in the show certainly don't. I actually wrote down that she might be a copper, since this au was made when new life was airing. (If bismuth, a non gem irl, can be a canon character so can copper okay....). I might change it though..

I think I also had ren as some corrupted gem. And ya know martyns on his whole loyalty "I have to uncorrupt my favorite guy" thing

I think Martyn, Jimmy, BigB, Pearl and Grian were all made on the same planet (evo planet)

idea I had while writing this: I could like. Put some of them in the human zoo lol (<- watching SU season 4 while typing this)

Mumbo was a fusion and then they shattered his other half. Lmao get fucked.

Etho is a zircon. And he also got exiled for some reason.

Is there a map for the area? Also do all groups live together?

There isn’t a map yet, but I do wanna make one eventually. I’m tempted to try to recreate what I think their bases look like in a Minecraft world, but I might just draw it instead. All the groups live together.

For their bases, I know I want Joel, Scott, Lizzie, and Pearl’s to be a princess tower akin to the one in Tangled and for the Food Crew’s(Fwhip, Jimmy, BigB, and Bdubs) base to be a fusion between a bakery and a greenhouse.
