i did it again. i made more pokemon variants. it was about time i did some for politoed, another big favorite of mine! tell me your favorite! :^)

ramble under the cut for each one!

lax (+quagsire), water/ground. a politoed that has gained the carefree, dopey quality native to quagsire. it can often be seen sitting in or around water or mud, seeminly contemplative, but there are no thoughts in its head. it seems perfectly happy, though, and will hum songs to itself as it floats through the water, happy as a clamperl.

bold (+swampert), water/ground. these politoed are incredibly territorial, puffing up to large sizes and letting out warning cries whenever a threat is sensed. a very popular variant with trainers who want a tough pokemon that is easier to manage than a typical swampert.

naughty (+toxicroak), water/poison. an impish, devious politoed that enjoys trickery and playing pranks. it has traded its singing ability for mimicry, able to replicate the cries of other pokemon to deceive them. it delivers deadly venom with its clawed fingers, but it mostly enjoys being a pest rather than an actual problem. popular with ruffian types.

relaxed (+seismitoad), water. a politoed variant that has become dedicated to its song-crafting skills, but nevertheless maintains a calm, cool personality. if you hear a ruckus nearby water, it's probably this politoed stirring up the local pokemon to make music with it. gets along well with other musically inclined pokemon. its music can reach deafening decibels, however, so bring ear protection if you want to listen in.

serious (+greninja), water/dark. a politoed that has chosen silence and the way of the ninja. incredibly focused and serious, should only be raised by trainers who are as keenly focused on honing their battle prowess as this pokemon is. it admires greninja greatly, and hopes to achieve the same level of mastery it does someday. will let out croaks when excited, which immediately makes it feel embarrassed.

quirky (+bellibolt), water/electric. a new politoed variant that popped up recently in paldea. this jovial pokemon is often seen toddling around, happily hopping along with seemingly no worries. its often on the lookout for those it sees as talented, and will follow them around like a groupie to offer encouragement. it often has a natural musical talent of its own, but is very shy about it and would prefer to cheer on others, able to create fun visual displays in the electric sac on its body.
