That link is sold out, but it looks like it's published through an indy publisher specializing in sewing and embroidery books. So here's another link for you:
This is the book I'm using, btw, for anyone else interested in learning to sew.
I started off with a beginner's sewing class at a local quilting store, and now I'm moving through the 12 projects in the book.

Eddie obviously knows how to sew (hes not only dirt-poor living off of a single consistent paycheck and whatever he earns selling drugs, but hes also a punk- theres no way he DOESNT know how to sew), but steve most definitely does. not. one of his shirts get a hole and he throws it out.
When eddie first witnesses this, hes fucking MORTIFIED and ends up digging a t-shirt out of the trash and sewing the hole closed and fixing the loose stitching on the hem and gives steve a lecture about not wasting fabric and money.
And from then on, steve just shows up at the munson household every now and then with various clothes in his arms, asking eddie to fix them for him.
#btw guys I do know metalheads and punks are different lol- I hc him as a metalhead punk. he’s a queer leftist metalhead punk.#the thing is- nancy also knows how to sew#her mom taught her how to do a few basic stitches so she could adjust her clothing sizes and make her cute clothes last longer#(and maybe add some extra like- ruffles or bows or lace or POCKETS if she wants to)#its just nance never brought it up#instead shes off in a corner helping robin sew a new patch on her femme-bait jean jacket and fixing a badly placed hole in her jeans#eddie tries to keep his mending discreet on steve's clothes cause hes hyper-aware of making King Steve look “uncool"#even though his mending on his own clothes is incredibly visible#nancy naturally tries to make her mending invisible cause thats how she was taught but robin asks her to use funky colors or obvious patche#(robin's mom tried to teach her how to sew but her fine motor skills are BAAADD- she can barely hold a needle and she kept stabbing herself#🪲#stranger things eddie munson#stranger things fandom#stranger things#stranger things hcs#stranger things netflix#eddie the freak munson#eddie munson#eddie stranger things#eddie the banished#eddie x steve#steve x eddie#robin buckley#stranger things headcanons#stranger things hc#eddie munson headcanons#eddie munson hcs#steve harrington#steddie#steddie headcanon

Novice sewing pattern: Cut out shapes. Line up the little triangles on the edges. Stitch edges together. We've also included step-by-step assembly instructions with illustrations.
Novice knitting pattern: yOU MUSt uNDerstANd thE SECret cOdE CO67 (73, 87, 93) BO44 (63, 76, 90) 28 (32, 34) slip first pw repeat 7x K to end *kl (pl) 42 * until 13" (13, 13, 15) join new at 30 pl for 17 rows ssk 27 k2tog mattress lengthwise BO and sacrifice a goat to the knitting gods. WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU WANT "INSTRUCTIONS," I JUST GAVE THEM TO YOU
#knitting#no it's not a real pattern but I can't write one that makes sense because I have no freaking clue what any of that means#How do you make things that aren't basic rectangles#Why has every knitter I've asked for help just said 'patterns are easy; you just have to know how to read them' & then refused to teach me#Where do I even find a goat to sacrifice#How do I join the pattern cult#I am so confused#I've been knitting for almost a decade but I can only make scarves and potholders#I learned one (1) stitch by watching a YouTube video and none of my friends or family knit so I have no IRL resources#And nobody I meet seems to want to take the time to explain the rest to me#I taught myself to sew through trial and error but that doesn't really work with knitting because error is pretty much just... Unraveling?#Anyway sorry for the tag rant I'm just frustrated that I see pretty things I want to make but the instructions are in an alien language#And the gap between 'absolute novice' and 'intermediate' seems to be about 20 years of experience and formal instruction

@themolluscasometimes said she wanted a Skinhe plush and now this skin creature lives in her home because I asked 'how much do you want one?' and everything spiraled from there. The most interesting part of all this has been explaining who and what he is to people not in the know - stay insane svsss fandom

#I have no idea what to tag this. my art? my sewing?? who cares I don't post enough that this won't be easy to find again#svsss#scum villains self saving system#luo binghe#skinhe#my specialist little flesh homunculus#this design is based on the skinhe art by piosplayhouse!#fun fact his eyes are googly eyes with nail polish over them so they make a rattling sound when you shake him#and his hair is basically a custom wig sewn onto his head - I pulled apart a ponytail extension wig and then sewed them onto a tiny wig cap#tailored to fit his massive head. I also hand tied parts of the fringe to make sure it looked right. I could have styled it better#but my straightener is old and not suited for doing anything at this scale#anyway he's already become a custom emote in a discord server and is very loved. as he should be.

I received
PAKIGE

This is. Hmm. Decidedly more orange than I was anticipating, I thought it would be more of a medium brown. This is definitely more terracotta than cinnamon to me.
However! It does drape beautifully, almost feels like a heavy silk crepe. Not at all as flimsy as I thought viscose was going to be. I have confronted my prejudice, realized the error of my ways and am grateful for the opportunity to adjust my views.

Giving muted carrot vibes but it works I think. it's going on the inside anyway, who cares.
As for the wool, I finally washed it! No machine washing this time, I gave it a not-so-gentle soak in the bathtub with laundry detergent and hot water. I walked all over it, whacked it a bit for good measure, but that didn't achieve much besides making the fabric less stiff.

pre wash left, post wash right.
This is fine as I wanted to preserve the twill diagonals and overall rough look, and didn't want to felt it. I finished it with a lanolin bath, which did improve the softness of the fabric immensely.

lovely 💚
I didn't lose much width or length, so I'm gonna stick with my original plan

Excuse the light but this works I think. Now all I have to do is cut it (😬) sew a few seams, sew the inlay, add pockets and done.
#idk if I want outside pockets yet#I probably should but I'm worried about them stretching out#and there are no side seams so no putting the pockets there#hm. well sew the basic shape together first and then decide#moss trousers#crafts

Back in ye olde small phone days, I had this little pouch that clipped to my backpack strap and it was so great - my phone and transit card (and mini Maglite, chapstick, earphones etc) were right there! No having to dig them out of my pack! But all joy is fleeting and when I upgraded my phone, it didn't fit. No more convenient pouch.
Except fast forward to now, in possession of both loom and sewing machine, and it hit me that I could just...make one that did fit. So I did!

I wove the cloth on the rigid heddle out of 4ply merino/silk and the bands on the inkle loom out of 8/4 cotton, grabbed some quilting cotton for the lining, and sewed them all up into a little zippered pouch.

A band runs up the back with a clip that clips to the D-ring, and I sewed velcro to the side bands to wrap around the strap and secure it in place. It holds my phone and everything else, right where I need them, and I'm so chuffed!
#weaving#fibre arts#I'm actually super proud of the cloth#I think it might be the best technical weaving I've ever done#i needed a thing so I made a thing!#it's a pretty good feeling#it's also going to be great not to have to take my pack off and dig stuff out#being able to sew stuff - even at this basic level - is very cool

New cloak wahoo
Gonna add a dart to the left shoulder I think, once I have the buttons on. Dunno if it was historical practice, but it’ll shape it nicer
