I wonder if any of them take a look at one another through the window at least once. Notice that the window in Gilbert's room happened to be near his bed.

oh my god oh my god i have to talk about the scene where gilbert tells anne how hard it was to tell mary she was going to die and anne says “i hope you never have to deliver news like that again…”

if we would have gotten more seasons we literally would have had to see him tell her that joyce was going to die. if awae! gilbert follows book!gilbert’s trajectory life wise then canonically yeah, he did have to deliver that news. about his own baby. to his wife. who just delivered the baby.

i’m like actually about to throw up i truly do believe this is what the writers were alluding to when they wrote that scene.
