People get so angry when they call wildlife resources about a sick or injured animal and the animal is immediately put down. Did you think they were going to perform a cesarean section on a deer in sepsis that had been in labor for 72 hours? That would be a horrifically cruel thing to do to that poor animal that is already exhausted and dying from trying to push out a dead fawn. Like, I get it, it is sad but the other option was letting the infection kill her and/or an opportunistic predator eating her. You’re complaining they didn’t do enough for her. Doing anything else would have been inhumane.
