H: Our intelligence operative are very good. Don't pretend these [throws folder on the table that scatters hundreds of pages of classified documents all over] aren't yours.
A: F-Fine! Yes! We made plans about how we should fight you if we ever got into a war. We admit it! What do you want?
H: Huh? No, what I'm trying to say is, why do your plans suck?
A: Err... what?
H: Yeah, compared to our plans and war games, you don't seem to utilize all the advantages you have against us. There's not as much coordination and specialization of forces as we expect in our simulations. What gives?
A: You've lost me.
H: Look, every civilization should run military simulations against EVERY existing party, not just the ones you're natural competitors, or ones you see as antagonistic. Hell, while we were "vanished" our military literally had nothing else to do and spent a solid 200 years making up every kind of scenario against every single potential power we might end up encountering once we "reappeared".
Honestly, there are so many things we are shocked about once we got our hands on your plans, I legitimately don't know where is the best place to begin.
Okay, for starters, why don't any of your plans include making use of our superior technology? It would work, we tested it as well. We built a scale model of one of your capital ships, plopped one of our fusion reactors in and BAM, shields and weapons instantly became on par with our Destroyers, and could even do some serious damage to our Dreadnoughts (for a few seconds before our counterattack vaporizes it, but that's besides the point), so we know your technology is fully capable of handling us.
A: For the millionth time, we are not using unstable power sources that could totally blow us up at any point!
H: It is safe! Those things only have a 0.002 percent chance to fail, and a one in six hundred thousand chance of THAT resulting in an explosion. We've only had twelve incidents the entire time we've been using them.
A: No.
H: Well you ain't winning a war against us with that attitude.
But anyway, one other thing your plans never do is blow up Earth and irradiate the shipyard orbits, what gives?
A: That's an abominable crime against, well, EVERYTHING!
H: Weak. But okay. One other thing though, and this one is just baffling, your deployments and gathering locations are always in the most obvious and convenient places. Those are, no joke, where we would place recon units and prepare ambushes the moment we even got a hint of a whiff of hostility from you. How come you never seem to account for us expecting you to do the obvious and pre-emptively counter that. And inversely, you never expect us to not be in the logical places where we should be.
A: I think my head is spinning from that. What?
H: Reverse psychology? Predictive behavior, or whatever it's called, not a psychologist. If you want to win against your enemy, you have to think like your enemy first.
You look dizzy. I know it's a lot to take in, but we'll guide you through this. Think of it as homework. After we have a more thorough meeting on this subject, we'll wait and let you figure things out back in your secret HQ's. But, if the plans we acquire later still won't account for the things we discussed, we'll be very disappointed.

You were a beta tester for Jujutsu Technology. Your job description was quite straightforward. You just acted like a customer who bought the product you were testing and gave feedback based on what you experienced.
This time, your employers wanted you to test out the newest of the Gojo line, the S4T0RU model. He was an android for a myriad of purposes. The engineers must've been quite proud of themselves for coming up with him.
He was the strongest and most durable out of all the androids they've come up with, possibly even surpassing the SUKUN4 model. Not only that, but he came with Jujutsu Technology's best intelligence chip, their most advanced one to date. He could learn at speeds no human could match.
He could protect his owner from any and all harm, he assists with all your chores with peak efficiency, he can tutor your children, help out with homework, he could provide companionship... and other more "adult" things.
In short, he's the jack of all trades for androids. There was a reason he cost the highest out of all of them.
For this simulation, you were meant to act as a single mother who recently lost her husband and needs assistance with her two children. The two children were androids created for testing, since it was too risky to use actual children in the process.
It started with unboxing him, the same way any buyer would. So far, you encountered no issues. Setup just required you to log into the app and configure the mode you need him for. Options included: Fighter mode, Caretaker mode, and... Pleasure mode. You clicked on "Caretaker mode".
When he woke up from his slumber, he greeted you and your children. Megumi didn't take too well to him, but Tsumiki quite liked him. You noted that his voice module was fully operational, no glitching or echoing. This version of him was still a prototype so his personality was a bit blank for the time being. It'd likely only start developing after spending time with you and the kids.
Your theory was proven right when you put the S4T0RU android to the test, asking him to do basic chores like vacuuming the floor and cleaning up the kids' toys. Tsumiki showered him in praises, which he basked in, wearing a smug smirk as he showed off his prowess.
You couldn't help the amused smile as you watched him pick up the sofa with one hand to vacuum, even though he could've just moved it to the side to achieve the same results. An android that was a showoff. How interesting.
Next task was to test his skill in teaching, asking him to help homeschool Megumi. It would prove to be a little more difficult than the basic house chores. This was especially the case with Megumi's model, who was designed to simulate a more... difficult and moody child. Androids who couldn't handle him usually didn't make the cut and got scrapped.
Despite Satoru's initial rocky start with him, he eventually got the hang of it and figured out how to get the child android to listen.
The more you spent time with him, the more attached you felt to the android. Out of all the androids, he seemed the most... lovable.
You weren't part of the Pleasure Department so you didn't have the most experience regarding the more... sensual androids.
But you couldn't quite recall whether the previous androids you tested were as... touchy as Satoru was. You never seemed to go a day where he hasn't had his large arms wrapped around your waist or shoulder.
While assisting you with chores, he made conversation, asking you about your interests and hobbies. He listened intently, hanging onto every word of your responses.
Whenever you got back home from "work", you'd find him playing with the kids, either having tea parties with Tsumiki or watching animal documentaries with Megumi. Upon noticing your arrival, his eyes light up with excitement. He rushes to your side, eager to help you relax after a long day.
He'd make you a cup of your favorite drink, making you sigh with relief. Every task you've made him do was a success. He should be good to go now. All you had to do was give him clearance to be mass produced and sold to the public.
As you rested your head on his shoulder, hearing the gentle hum of his system, you felt a twinge of pain, knowing that the life you've grown so attached to will eventually come to an end - that this fabricated life you've built with him would be gone in just a few days.
"Do you have to let me go?" Satoru's question made your heart stop. There was not a single android who has gained awareness of the simulation. But somehow, he acted like this was a fact he understood since long ago.
You let out a shaky breath. "I... have no choice. This is what they pay me for. You'll be taken from me regardless."
He gave you a chesire smile. "Their first mistake was giving me the tools to bust us out of here."
Satoru disconnected his system from the Jujutsu Network and grabbed the two kids, doing the same to them. Alarms started blaring, alerting all the workers that an android had gone rogue.
He picked the three of you up, breaking out of the compound.
You weren't quite sure what the future had in store for you. But you were sure that you'd be fine as long as you had Satoru and your newfound family by your side.

Do you have any headcanons on what the neighbour’s hobbies are? What do they do in their free time?
Not for all of them ofc but at the top of my head:
- Izaack likes to read and go out drinking with friends
- Arnold works on his books and is also obviously an avid reader. He loves mysteries and classics (or uh, whats considered as classics for the 50s ig...) and horror. He also keeps a journal.
- Margarette crochets and knits and does little sewing projects in her free time. She gifts the neighbors hand-made scarves and gloves during winter. She bakes sometimes too
- Rafftellyn and Lois usually go to each others houses to gossip and have tea when they don't have housework. For some reason I also feel like they'd both be in the town council?
- Angus goes out of his house a lot. No one knows what the fuck he does during those times... besides that he goes out drinking with Izaack a lot or sometimes with Francis and/or Steven. Also can be seen smoking outside the apartment.
- Steven builds plane models and listens to rock bands on the radio while working on them. Also I kind of want to give him a guitar that he's slowly trying to learn how to play.
- Alf and Mclooy sometimes hang out together and reminiscent about their younger selves (I hc they grew up together and known each other the longest) while smoking.
- Selenne is trying to learn how to sew from Margarette while Elenois is trying to learn how to bake from Nacha.
- Francis is the type to not really have a hobby and kind of just do whatever to pass the time. For some reason I HC he doesn't really like watching TV and prefers the radio or newspaper. I feel like when he's not working or resting he does a lot of random stuff to distract himself like cleaning the house 2-3 times a week or help out the neighbors with whatever.
- Mia paints and does tutoring for any of her students that need it. Anastacha regularly goes over to her house so she can help her with homework.
- Afton loves doing puzzles and sudokus and word search. Anything that simulates his brains, he'll love it. Has a shit ton of books on amy range of subjects. Thats also how she and Mia met and bond over cuz they're both nerds
I feel like because of the doppelganger threats, everyones' lives get severely disrupted and while they're still able to go out and do things like their work and school and grocery shopping, a lot of activities are avoided and most people tend to not go outside too much if they can help it. I can see stuff like Nacha telling Anastacha not to go out and play too much on her own and activities like sports or going to the theaters are avoided. Its just a lot of mess but everyone do their best to carry on with their lives as normally as possible

All good points! I would like to add a piece of my own (essay incoming, but I am simply an autistic 17 year old procrastinating on his homework and not a professor yet, please by all means critique me on this if I err in any interpretations):
Former c.ai user here — I used it to cope with social anxiety, agoraphobia, loneliness, and feeling alone with struggles. I was naive and thought that it was a completely harmless way of coping, where I received the support I needed for very specific scenarios without bothering those around me (or fearing that something they would do would make me panic). I quit several months ago due to a combined lack of interest and more importantly, significant ethical concerns. As much as I had fun on the app last year, it’s really not worth it in the end due to the environmental consequences that it entails. One significant concern with c.ai is the water waste that LLMs (language-generating AI programs like GPT, etc) cause due to the cooling required to protect their generators from overheating from the incredibly complex tasks that the LLMs undertake. Out of curiosity and concern, I did a deep dive into this not long ago:
While this site primarily discusses the issues with Chat GPT, once again, c.ai is another LLM, as it generates words (roleplay scenarios usually, although some c.ai bots are programmed to function similar to GPT). From my experience as an adolescent, people who use c.ai tend to be a specific demographic of mentally ill youths who feel as though they need an outlet for their struggles or darker thoughts — things that they perhaps wish to receive comfort or support for but are afraid will result in judgment and other negative consequences if they reach out to people around them.
For them, including myself at one point, I was unable to be dissuaded from my use of c.ai with arguments such as, “it is not healthy because humans need socialization and there are people out there willing to roleplay”. It is a common argument to say that c.ai is safer than risking a toxic roleplay partner. Plus, going back to the point about social anxiety, the joy that many find in c.ai has to do with the fact that it simulates socialization. People are generally aware that the AI they are talking to is an AI, but they still continue talking to it nonetheless because the communication the AI is providing is human-like enough to produce the same dopamine as socializing. Only, with the added knowledge that the AI is an AI, the anxiety about judgment subsides. C.ai is the utopia that many socially anxious, mentally ill people imagine—the utopia where they can enjoy the benefits of talking to people without confronting the anxiety intrinsic to conservation-making.
However, while I am entirely for coping mechanisms that, though might seem strange, generally help people, that condition only applies if said condition is not harmful to others. This is a thought process and a value that many share—allowing others to do what benefits them so as long as it does not cause significant harm. C.ai is one of said coping mechanisms that does cause others harm, not just the user. Here, I won’t discuss the psychological effects of c.ai — some users are more positively affected while others are more negatively affected. Since I am just one person and one former user, I cannot speak for every user on their mental well-being (in addition, I am someone who had more positive interactions with c.ai, formerly having thought it to enrich my quality of life).
However, beyond the psychological consequences lie the very obvious environmental consequences, which again, makes c.ai a dangerous coping mechanism.
This site discusses the pros and cons of LLMs. In my personal opinion, the cons greatly outweigh the pros. In summary, the pros of this site include, “this issue will be brought to awareness”, but said issue is the con—hence, this implies that if LLMs did not exist, there would be less of a need to “raise awareness” to this subject in the first place. The “pros” and cons are both centered around environmental issues, although topics such as misinformation are brought up too (relevant to c.ai, but c.ai’s primary function is, once again, using generative software to simulate human interaction rather than performing tasks for others, although the two can overlap due to LLM framework).
What I am trying to say here is this: It is not anyone’s fault that they rely on c.ai—no one asked to have crippling social anxiety, dark thoughts unable to be discussed without judgment, etc. There is a reason why c.ai is so popular, and it differs slightly from the motives of other AI users. Most c.ai users are against “AI art” and using Chat GPT in school/work—“AI artists” and “Chat GPT writers” are people who choose convenience and over consumerism over genuine hard work. C.ai users are on a slightly higher moral ground, people who use AI to escape from the harsh human-made reality; hardly ever to exploit, to steal from creators. Hence, the dialogue surrounding c.ai would benefit from the discussion of c.ai’s surprising similarities to Chat GPT in terms of function (LLM) and maybe not userbase. In addition, all the environmental consequences need to be underscored, because that reframes the narrative surrounding c.ai—if one is trying to find an escape for their problems with AI that they actively know harms the already deteriorating planet, then that technically does count as greediness and a prioritization of convenience over ethics. Something that a good handful people would prefer not to associate with.
Accountability and change starts with alerting others what the problem is with their actions. That way, at least a good proportion of the population with enough conscientiousness would stop and do other things such as looking for IRL roleplay partners, finding other less-environmentally dangerous coping mechanisms, etc. After that, the people who choose to remain — who choose to not take the moral high ground — are those who probably require a higher level of criticism.
