Guys you have the opportunity of a LIFETIME. KILL TWITTER. KILL IT RIGHT NOW. LEAVE THE PLACE. STOP USING TWITTER. If you're an artist tell your audience you're moving here or you're going to BlueSky, PLEASE DON'T LET YOUR ART GET STOLEN FOR FREE, LET'S DO THE SAME THING PPL DID WHEN THEY THOUGHT TIKTOK WAS DYING AND STARTED TO USE REDNOTE. USE BLUESKY, GROK IS STEALING YOUR ART, IS USING YOUR ART FOR LEARNING, AND SOON YOUR ART ON TWITTER WILL BE LABELED AS "MADE WITH GROK" HOW'S THAT FAIR AND LEGAL??? END THIS MADNESS. LEAVE TWITTER. FOREVER. YOU DON'T NEED IT. YOUR WORK IS MORE VALUABLE THAN THAT. FUCK AI. FUCK ELON MUSK. LET'S DESTROY TWITTER AND MAKE ELON LOSE MONEY JUST BY NOT USING IT ANYMORE!

For anyone worried about having their hard work replaced with AI, here's a playful reminder that the popular streamer DougDoug forced ChatGPT, the one ADVERTISED TO BE THE SMARTED MACHINE LEARNING PROGRAM, to play through a Pajama Sam game targeted at preschoolers and had to nuke the program a grand total of 26 times because the AI wasn't learning anything from his prompts, but rather it's own INCREASINGLY UNHINGED ramblings.
Anyway, here's the link. Highly recommend the watch. It's hilarious.

I start a roll before stopping halfway through to lay flat on my back. "Gobedly gook. Tooka taka tik. Humana hummus man," I say. The concrete roof I am laying on is rough against my back, but I don't have time for such foolish things as pain. I have a noble goal, a duty to society, a purpose so important nobody can stop me. Indeed, I am-
"What the hell are you doing?" I rotate my torso 97 degrees to look at who would dare disturb me. Flame strike looks at me with half concern and half exasperation. Which is fair. I'd be a bit annoyed too if I found somebody squatting on top of my house, but it's not my fault that the Hero Tower has the best acoustics.
"Utilizing your acoustics. Concrete is great for my skin."
"You're on the roof of a thirty story building. There are no acoustics."
I tut at him. "That's where you're wrong my dear hero, but I couldn't expect someone like you to keep up with me."
His hands light on fire. Oops.
I fully sit up and hook my legs over the air conditioner to form some kind of demented sit up. "Look big man, Flame, Striker, buddy, there is no need to get violent. This roof is plenty big enough for both of us."
Flame steps forward menacingly. "What are you doing here?" Oo, his voice sounds like he swallowed gravel. He should probably get that checked out.
"I'm messing with the AI training," I finally admit. I may be the best vigilante the city has ever had, but my suit is not yet fireproofed. "Why don't you join me? You hate AI too, right?"
"That-" He pauses and lowers his hands, "How would that even work?"
"It's easy! All you have to do is say random things. Like this, cylinder thirty fourth inch with soup in the soul not the soil. Perry parrot."
"No, I understand that. It's how you're influencing an AI here that I'm confused about. Unless you're saying we're just figments of somebody's imagination, being written about on a social media platform?"
My nose wrinkles. "Ew, get your philosophical weirdness away from me. I did not consent."
"Flame?" Yet another hero comes up the stairs, "Did you not leave for patrol yet?"
Remix's look of shock is almost enough to make me laugh, but it quickly turns into one of anger. Guess he still hasn't forgiven me for throwing a party in his office.
"That's my cue to leave! " I leap up and only slightly stumble when blood rushes to my head. The energy waves he produces are fairly easy to dodge, but he himself is harder to. I throw myself off the roof in a desperate bid to escape his little grabby fingers.
I'm only in free fall for a second before the wings on my little squirrel suit snap open. I laugh wild and free as I safely glide over to a nearby building. Another win for the Esra2 community.

So ChatGPT broke in the past week or so.
Did we already break ChatGPT? Because the AI sharing has been going on for a bit, and time is fake so I'm not gonna make a timeline.

Q* — the age of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)?
The possibility of AI general intelligence (AGI). AGI could potentially perform particular jobs better than most people, scientists have said. It could also be weaponized and used, for example, to create enhanced pathogens, launch massive cyber attacks, or orchestrate mass manipulation.
Election-rigging hyperrealistic deepfakes
One of the most pressing cyber threats is that of deepfakes — entirely fabricated images or videos of people that might misrepresent them, incriminate them or bully them. AI deepfake technology hasn't yet been good enough to be a significant threat, but that might be about to change.
This would make it practically impossible for people to distinguish Real News from deep Fakeswith the naked eye
Mainstream AI-powered killer robots
Governments around the world are increasingly incorporating AI into tools for warfare. For example, AI drones allegedly hunting down soldiers in Libya with no human input.
AI can recognize patterns, self-learn, make predictions or generate recommendations in military contexts, and an AI arms race is already underway. In 2024, it's likely we'll not only see AI used in weapons systems but also in logistics and decision support systems

CALL TO ALL US CITIZENS! Have your say concerning AI usage. There's not much hope as the advisory board that is concerned with AI in the US consists mostly of millionaires who love exploitation, but this gives you the chance to speak up and voice your concern! I copied the post from the link above:
"With ChatGPT’s rapid growth since its launch in late 2022 and many other text, graphic and video AI generative services gaining popularity, AI and copyright has become a heatedly debated topic. The U.S. Copyright Office is now seeking public comment to assess the need for legislative or regulatory steps in copyright law issues raised by the rapid development of AI.
Four main areas surrounding the use of AI systems are currently for public comment, some of these are more closely connected to fannish activities and have a direct impact on AO3 users.
Using copyrighted materials in training AI models, specifically, whether permission from copyright owner is needed, in what form (opt in or opt out), and if compensations is necessary; what type of system for permission and remuneration is feasible, whether records should be retained to identify training materials used, and if they should be available to copyright holders; if requests are not honored, what remedies should be available.
Whether materials generated using AI systems are copyrightable – namely what level of human involvement may be considered sufficient control over the output material for it to be considered human-authored.
Potential liability for infringing works generated with the use of AI systems: how the liability should be apportioned between the developers of the system and the user who provided the prompts.
How to deal with attributes not traditionally protected under copyright law, such as human likeness and artistic styles.
The comment period remains open until October 18, 2023, for written comments and November 15, 2023 for reply comments. Detailed instructions note that short written comments are limited to 5000 characters, longer comments can be uploaded in various formats. Please note that all information and files provided in the submission process will be publicly available.
Visit the comment form to have your say!
Given that the feedback being sought concerns an organization the OTW is not affiliated with, comments have been disabled on this post. Decisions made by the U.S. Copyright Office could impact the OTW and AO3’s approach to AI generated works in the future. We thank concerned fans who wish to articulate their opinions on the matter directly with them."

Prompt Examples for Learning Web Development
Tumblr media
Coding is both an art and a science. It’s about creatively solving problems, bringing ideas to life, and constantly learning and adapting.
Because technology advances at such a rapid pace, it is essential to be fluent in a variety of languages, tools, and domains.
Sometimes it’s difficult to pick up the right resources from the ocean of tutorials, demos, and resources.
And on top of that, sometimes we have to learn and apply so fast due to tight deadlines of the projects. In this case, we need a friend who can help us learn and work faster and better. And thanks to AI by this, our learning becomes faster and more fun.
Today, we’ll look at how learning prompts that AI drives can change the way you learn web development.
How you can craft prompt engineering for web development, the difference between a generic prompt and a bit tweaked prompt can eventually change your desired results and make your learning journey more smooth and more enjoyable.
You can also use this knowledge to learn other fields more quickly and interactively.

🎯Learning Prompts
Prompts are at the heart of AI-powered learning. Prompts are questions or commands that guide AI models like GPT-3 or GPT-4 to generate the desired responses. They act as a springboard for the AI to dive into the knowledge it’s been trained on and come up with relevant outputs.
You can use AI’s capabilities in a variety of scenarios in web development, including debugging, code generation, and even learning new web development concepts.
Now, we’ll go through some basic prompts and their outputs, as well as a little tweaking of the prompt commands to see how the output is becoming more result oriented, giving you a sense of how you may build your prompt commands for better results.
Prompt Commands for Learning HTML Basics
Learning the basics of web development involves understanding the structure and syntax of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Here are some prompt examples you can use:
Create a simple HTML structure with a header, main content section, and footer.
This prompt returns a simple HTML skeleton. But if you want a more detailed structure, you could modify the prompt to include specific HTML elements. For example:
Create a simple HTML structure with a header containing a navigation bar, a main content section with a paragraph and an image, and a footer with copyright information.

So. I tried Sudowrite.
Because of the ethical quagmire it represents, I had already set a ground rule that I wouldn’t use or publish the resulting generated text anywhere, I just wanted to see how close it could get to what I wanted. An interesting thing happened.
Pretty much nothing it gave me was useful in the most direct sense. The outcomes were fairly generic no matter how much nuance I tried to add to the outlines. And why wouldn’t it be? It’s literally designed to give the most commonplace answer. It misunderstood the characters I had laid out and the purpose of the story -- (No, they’re not going to kiss. Stop trying to make them kiss.) -- HOWEVER. What it DID do was make me, a person who doesn’t write that often at all but every once in a blue moon is struck with an urge, write a couple of pages worth of backstory for my D&D character that until now lived only in my head. I wrote, paragraph by paragraph, pressing generate to see if it could complete my thoughts or add interesting layers to them. Then, seeing what it wanted to do, I would promptly reply with, “No, that’s not right, THIS is what should happen...” and continue to write. I also found myself being more descriptive because I had an immediate ‘audience’ I was trying to convey information to and proof when it didn’t understand certain factors of the scene. This led me to spell out things I would normally ‘yadda yadda’ (for better or worse), but it also led me to visualize the scene more concretely which allowed me to continue forward.
Sudowrite was supposedly designed as a helper for writer’s block. I think it worked, in a weird way, by showing me a funhouse mirror of what my story COULD be, and then by seeing what wasn’t right, I figured out what was.
Do I think this is how most people are using it? No. Just as I think visual AI programs could be great tools for reference, and yet their primary purpose is to spit out ‘good enough’ tweaked stolen art for people to stick on websites and claim as their own.
Look, the big, obvious issue with the program is the ethics. I just can’t say the benefit outweighs the negatives. *Supposedly* Sudowrite does not learn from direct input, but even so, were I as serious a writer as I am a visual artist I wouldn’t have used it as I don’t appreciate the idea of my creativity and soul being absorbed by a program for future outputs. However, not using it doesn’t guarantee your words are safe from regeneration. Sudowrite’s data set is taken from a large scale crawl of the internet and “thousands of books”, meaning they ARE someone else’s words, just not mine.
It’s a shame, because the technology at its base is such a useful tool, but like all useful tools it is only as ethical as the people who create, use and abuse it. I hope we get some serious regulations because the tech isn’t going anywhere. And also because, genuinely, I liked using it. I liked how it made me think about things and broke down the fuzziness that usually accompanies my head when I’m writing. I just wish there was a version of this tool that wasn’t using stolen words and then selling access to them.

"what did students do before chatgpt?" well one time i forgot i had a history essay due at my 10am class the morning of so over the course of my 30 minute bus ride to school i awkwardly used by backpack as a desk, sped wrote the essay, and got an A on it.
six months later i re-read the essay prior to the final exam, went 'ohhhh yeah i remember this', got a question on that topic, and aced it.
point being that actually doing the work is how you learn the material and internalize it. ChatGPT can give you a short cut but it won't build you the the muscles.
