Skyglider and Repurposed Chasing Wind

Even though I’m sceptical about what you might have planned for more spider freaks,,,,

I would like to ask if you ever plan on making mixes involving Scavengers or Slugcats?

One mix I often think about is a Leviathan and a Slugcat!

They have the intellect of a Scavenger, they're able to grab and use objects as weapons. With their size, they mainly rip off chimneys and buildings to throw at their prey.

They have the sheer jaw force of the Leviathan, nothing can even survive being crunched to bits by their gigantic hydraulic mouth.

They're amphibious, able to rumble on land and swim deep into the water. My facility ground was built on top of a giant lake, so it has a lot of places to swim.

They mostly patrol around my superstructure, to defend it from anything that may cause harm to it.

They also act as a garbage compactor, eating anything I threw at it in an instant.

Who are Turn N' Learn’s friends

From the abandoned house on Marigold Street, it's Raggy Agnes and Moppet

The house next to it, it would be Hermes Skyglide

And lastly on Birch Street, it would be Stayshot and Splashshot

the tall man himself, Skyglide. [he/him]

Skyglide is the first medicine cat of Cricketclan. he earned this placement by being the only cat in the group with medical knowledge. more info on him under the cut.

in-game facts: Skyglide is a senior adult male brown solid with vitiligo, medium fur and blue eyes. as of the first year, he is 107 moons old and has not mentored anyone.

he is careful, a great speaker and has very low experience.

story stuff: Skyglide, while respecting his groups ability to make their own decisions, disagreed with their choice in leader. Sparkstar was too young, too nice. they needed someone with a tougher exterior to lead the clan this early.

so, he began talking with Rosedapple, a much more eligible leader. the two agreed to find a way to make the clan no longer respect Sparkstar, and get her out of the position.

Skyglide quickly socialized with Goosepool, expressing his gratitude towards the tom for helping them. this later proved beneficial in getting rid of Sparkstar. though he began to worry their plans wouldn't work out, by the fourth moon he felt better seeing Sparkstar and Goosepool begin to fight.

on the sixth moon, Skyglide gathered some deathberries just in case. however, Rosedapple convinced him they wouldn't need that. not long after, the two tried to speak with Clovershell while he needed Skyglide's assistance with something. though he was fairly uninterested.

Skyglide hoped he would be given an apprentice, as that would help alot, but Sparkstar continued telling him none of them were fit for it. this eventually got on his nerves, and by the twelfth moon, he was checking his poppy seed supply.

overall, he's done his job well, but his intentions are questionable...

Postcards from Snagglepuss (Minnesota State Fair edition)

And you thought Machinery Hill was fascinating ...

Ahhh, yes, Machinery Hill ... highlight of the northern part of the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, traditional home for farm tractor and farm equipment manufacturers' exhibits and displays, even if a good part of it had to be levelled to allow the 4-H Building to be constructed in the late 1930's. Only nowadays, only John Deere has any semblance of a tractor display at its facility, with the possibility of just sitting in the cockpit and posing like you were a farmer doing the fields.

Which our company no doubt took advantage of, and then some.

And it turns out that you also have Ford and Chevrolet with their pickups and SUV's on display and preview ... as well as the makers of lawn and garden tractors, riding lawnmowers (including some of the Zero Turning Radius sort), campers even! And boy, were the exhibitors somehow impressed by our having a motorhome, not to mention the 70's van style epitomised by Emmy Lou and Jenny Lee!

But it's just a couple blocks north of Machinery Hill that we want to focus the attention on: No less than the Old Iron Show, along Lee Avenue betwixt Underwood and Cooper Streets on the north side, visible off the SkyGlider even!

"So what exactly is this 'Old Iron Show' about?" asked Square Bear when yours truly and Huckleberry Hound explained our stopping by there as we got off a complimentary trolley shuttle along Underwood Street ... and to answer, such happens to show off some older farm tractors which have managed to be restored, and I mean painstakingly restored! Not just John Deere and Farmall ... brands now manufactured no more, brands like Oliver, Allis-Chalmers, Minneapolis-Moline, Case, Massey-Ferguson, Ford, Cockshutt, White, Co-Op ... and perhaps most impressive, a Mill City "farm engine" of 1906 vintage, of rather substantial size even, designed mainly for larger farms of the time. And who could have been more stunned than--

"Who else--Lippy the Lion?!"

And you could tell where this leonine Tora-san was impressed that a "farm engine" built in 1906 had much the same size as a larger farm tractor such as, say, those in John Deere's 9 Series, but with horsepower comparable to a small utility tractor ... not to mention such skill and care such as are fond of rebuilding farm machinery from the 1930's to the 1970's could take.

Which led us to a rather interesting ice cream stand in the area of the Old Iron Show. Interesting in that the ice cream--old-school, extra-rich vanilla ice cream even!--is made using a restored 1937-vintage John Deere gasoline engine of the sort which served to provide power on the farm, perhaps powering water pumps or serving as a modest light plant. And some say ice cream may not exactly be what it used to be ...

Skyglider VS Vultures and King Vulture

As you can see, Skyglider deals with the vultures and their king in almost every cycle. It's no wonder he became acquainted with their attack methods and thus he used his slim and small body as a weapon as he torpedoed the vulture's huge and lumpy body. The impact can knock out a vulture and can even kill them.

He is a force to be reckoned with amongst the sky creatures.

Miscellaneous observations from first trip to the Fair since 2019 and possibly earlier:

Rented mobility scooter meant back and feet not in agony sore when I got home! Score.

I think all the super-hot weather we've had made me forget that 85F is actually also too hot for me.

Milkshakes are evidently inadequately hydrating.

Idk what was up with the spoons at the dairy bar but I think they injured my lips :/

Is there only Pepsi this year????

Success in herding dog trials wildly dependent on which sheep they get. Some sheep are very resistant to going in the pen and would rather keep trying to break into the stands. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (You were great Mirk the Australian Shepherd, it's not your fault that brown sheep was so stubborn!)

I did not enjoy driving the scooter. Kept wanting to say "I hate driving", which is my reflexive expression of frustration when driving a car gets stressful.

Didn't actually eat that much but weirdly not hungry the rest of the day? Possibly dehydration?

Wearing a mask much of the time made me markedly less comfortable. Also it felt silly when my other household members weren't.

Seriously, who is throwing all that underwear off the Skyglider? Observing the detritus on building roofs makes my ride more entertaining, but why is it worth it to them? I think underpants outnumbered bras this time. It seems very unsafe. Are people bringing extra underwear to throw off? Bras aren't cheap. Financially if nothing else—

Can you talk about Hermes sky glide and her lore

Hermes Skyglide is a Gundam model. She is a nervous but kind-hearted bot. She loves seeing the details and making origami. She is quite curious and loves to try new things to the point that she made a bucket list of things she wanted to do. Too bad she has to be careful, some small parts of her could break and be missing! She just have to move forward and gain goals by finishing her bucket list!

If only she wasn't manipulated by Dolly Mammet.. She's somewhat Dolly Mammet's favorite and was given "special" treatment..

Since she has been by herself for a long time with no one but Dolly Mammet until Raif Twinwood and the others found her, she can be anxious and socially awkward to new people. She over-apologizes if someone gets angry at her.

No wonder why she didn't know Dolly Mammet's cruel actions to others and gets attached to Dolly and will do whatever she says.

Don't let her timid personality fool you. She can fight and combat with incredible speed taught by Dolly Mammet but what's scary is that she lacks awareness of the stakes of violence.
