You should try adding dashi powder to instant ramen! It's just a fish stock and it adds just a little bit of kick to the ramen that really amps up the flavor. You don't even need that much, just a tablespoon/15g

Mum’s takeaway bowl of Bee Hoon Soup (米粉汤) has thick rice vermicelli with plenty of ingredients like meat ball, pork slices, pig’s liver, mushrooms and lettuce.
In contrast, my Economy Rice (菜饭) only had two dishes of bitter gourd & egg stir-fry plus a whole chicken leg with caramelized onions reduction. Three dishes, if you also count the white rice.
