emily i’m sorry
Tumblr media
"emily, forgive me, can we" "make it up as we go along?" "i'm twenty-seven and i don't know who i am" "but i know what i want"
pairings: emily prentiss x fem!reader
warnings/tags: angst with a bit of fluff at the end.
summary: you and emily find your way to each other.
Tumblr media
returning to quantico was like stepping into a time capsule. the bau had always been a place of intensity, where minds were stretched to their limits and where you had once spent countless hours. but this time, walking through those familiar halls, you felt a different kind of pressure— the weight of seeing emily again after so many years apart.
the past had a way of creeping up on you, especially in a place like this, where every corner held memories. you had loved emily once, more than you thought possible. but in your pursuit of a career that demanded everything, you had made the impossible decision to walk away. it was mutual, or at least that’s what you both said at the time. there were no harsh words, no accusations— just two people who had to part ways for the sake of their futures.
yet standing here now, you couldn’t help but question that choice.
as you made your way into the bullpen, you were greeted by the team— a group of people you knew by reputation but had never worked with before. penelope garcia was the first to spot you, her eyes lighting up as she made her way over.
"you must be the new liaison!" she exclaimed, her voice as bright as her personality. "i’m penelope garcia, resident genius, and lover of all things tech."
you smiled, accepting the warm handshake. "y/n l/n, nice to meet you, garcia."
"please, call me penelope. we’re all friends here," she said with a wink before turning to the rest of the team. "everyone, meet our new liaison."
you exchanged handshakes and introductions with david rossi, spencer reid, aaron hotchner, and derek morgan. they were all friendly, professional, and welcoming. none of them knew your history with emily, and you weren’t sure if that made things easier or harder.
"prentiss is in her office," rossi mentioned, almost casually. "she’s probably buried in paperwork."
you nodded, trying to keep your expression neutral. "i’ll go introduce myself."
the walk to emily’s office felt longer than it should have, each step heavy with anticipation. you took a deep breath before knocking on the door, trying to steady your nerves.
"come in," came emily’s voice, slightly muffled by the door.
you pushed the door open and stepped inside, your heart skipping a beat as your eyes met hers. emily looked almost exactly as you remembered— poised, strong, with that keen, intelligent gaze that had always drawn you in. but when she saw you, her eyes widened in shock, and she froze, the file she was holding slipping from her fingers and landing on the desk.
"y/n?" her voice was soft, almost disbelieving.
"hey, emily," you said, your voice betraying a hint of the nervousness you felt. "it’s been a while."
she stared at you for a moment, as if trying to convince herself that you were really there. finally, she found her voice. "i didn’t know you were coming back."
"i’m the new liaison,” you explained, stepping further into the office. "i just met the team."
emily blinked, clearly trying to process this new information. "you’re taking jj’s position?"
"yeah," you confirmed. "it feels right. like coming home, in a way."
a long, tense silence stretched between you. the last time you had seen emily, you both had agreed to part ways. you needed to focus on your career, and she had understood. but standing here now, all those old feelings resurfaced, and you realized how much you had missed her.
"i didn’t think i’d see you again," emily finally said, her voice low and laced with emotion.
"neither did i," you admitted. "but life has a funny way of bringing you back to the things you thought you’d left behind."
emily studied you, her expression unreadable. "why did you come back?"
her question was simple, but it hit you like a ton of bricks. you had thought about this moment, about what you would say if you ever saw her again. now that it was here, the words felt heavy in your mouth.
"emily, i’m sorry," you began, your voice cracking slightly. "when we broke up, i thought i was doing the right thing. i thought i needed to focus on my career, and i convinced myself that it was for the best."
she listened, her eyes never leaving yours, but she didn’t say anything.
"i thought i was making the right choice," you continued, your voice filled with regret. "but after all this time, after everything i’ve done, i still don’t know who i am. the only thing i’m sure of is that i still love you. i never stopped."
emily looked down, her expression softening. "you left," she whispered, her voice carrying a weight of hurt. "you chose your career over us."
"i know," you replied, feeling a lump form in your throat. "and i'm sorry for that, more than you can imagine. i thought i was making the right choice, but i was wrong. i've spent all this time trying to figure out who i am, but the only thing i'm sure of is that i still love you."
her breath hitched slightly, and she finally looked up at you, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. "you broke my heart, y/n," she said, her voice trembling.
"i know," you whispered, taking a cautious step closer. "and i’ll do whatever it takes to make it up to you, if you’ll let me."
for a long moment, emily just looked at you, as if weighing your words. then, slowly, she stepped forward and pulled you into a tight embrace. the warmth of her arms around you, the familiar scent of her hair, it all came rushing back, and you held her close, never wanting to let go.
"i missed you," she murmured against your shoulder, her voice thick with emotion.
"i missed you too," you whispered back, relief flooding through you. "i’m not going anywhere this time, emily. i promise."
she pulled back slightly, just enough to look into your eyes. there was a hint of a smile on her lips, a glimmer of hope in her gaze.
"maybe we could… start over?" she suggested tentatively.
you smiled, your heart feeling lighter than it had in years. "i’d like that."
as you stood there, holding each other, you knew that this was where you were meant to be. not just in the bau, but with emily, in her arms, where you’d always belonged.
and this time, you weren’t going to let her go.

painting date with jude filled w messy kisses 🤭🤭
cherry coated lips - jude bellingham x reader.
psa 🗣️: what about first kiss with soon to be bf! jude??? 😋😋 (also i did not proofread this so i hope it isn’t to bad to read.)
the rain had been predicted but part of you wished an prayed it would’ve been clear so your date with jude wouldn’t be canceled. it would been your 6tg date with him. the first one was him taking you to a fair, and latest where you had invited him over to make dinner and watch movies.
you loved his ideas of dates, always going above and beyond to make you feel special, he always knew how to leave his mark, and today wasn’t any different. he planned to take you on a evening out to a nice restaurant and finish the night by going to his favorite spot with a view of the new city he lived in, painting and having late night conversation.
with jude it could be just that, talk hours and hours together till the sun rose and moon was bright. he made you feel like the luckiest girl and you were. you were lucky to have met jude, and in any given occasion he became your person. he understood you, he cared for you, he knew you better than yourself and that was a bit scary at first.
while you always surrounded yourself with your circle of friends, when meeting jude you grew a soft spot and love for him. you both agreed to take it slow to relish the slow burn every time you were together. to feel the feelings inside every time. the tension was always present but lately it began to fill the room anytime you were together.
you became a nervous and stutter mess with him. not being able to keep eye contact when he stared into you. you skin burning everytime he held your hand or kissed your cheek goodbye. you wanted more but you felt unsure if he felt the same way you did for him.
you wanted this to go different from your past relationship. the last one made you feel like a shitty person, always calling you naive or clingy, being insecure when you went out or even alone in private. always complaining to you even when they were in the fault. they blamed you for everything and in the end you had enough. it wasn’t love it was being manipulated and constantly controlled by a person who couldn’t even figure out their own life.
with him it was different. he was almost too perfect to be true. a gentleman straight out the movies who made you feel like there could be no one else in the world besides you two.
which is how you felt right now. you were sat on the carpet of your flat, candles surrounded the place as the power had gone out due to the storm, but in a way it made it feel more romantic. the evening was filled with yummy takeout from a hidden spot in the city, a place only you and jude knew after going finding it randomly. since then it became your guys spot.
you giggled and laughed at the stories he told from when he started the academy at birmingham, later on in his teenage years in year school. about how jobe and him were day ones and valued family over anything. football was his life, but family and friends? we’re his main priority. just like you since they were the only ones there to lift you up after anything.
“have you seen those artist on tiktok where they use their led lights when painting? i feel like that right now with all these candles. i wish i could see the colors properly to see what i’m working with,” you said, licking your lips in concentration as the thin brush ran over the outline you had drawn into the canvas.
you looked over to the side, jude had suddenly came close to you, a arm around you and but placed on the couch cushions barely touching you. you could smell the faint cologne on him, driving your senses a bit into overdrive. you had been sitting on your bum but your knees began to hurt and now they were angled to the right.
“whatever the ending piece is, i’m sure it will look great, y/n,” jude said with a smile on his face, clinking the brush inside the glass of water on his side. jude looked over to see which brush and paint color to use next, quickly looking at his canvas before going with his intuition.
the familiar tension grew in the air, your bodies close together that if you moved you’d be side to side. you cleared your throat scratching your temple feeling like you’d explode any minute that passed by if you didn’t say or do anything. you attempted to distract yourself in the art but your mind was tracing back to him. jude. ir always seemed to be him.
you thought of every encounter together. that first time you met him and the kiss on your cheek when you had left, to right now where you wanted to do more than that. not sex but share your anticipated first kiss. the kiss that seemed to be interrupted by someone passing by, a loud noise, or a sudden jult or text. it was always something that had delayed the moment.
jude could feel your sudden change in body language, the end of the brush tapping against the canvas as you think loudly. he wanted to hold you against him, before he had to leave and wish he had done more than that. he wanted to taste a small bit of you, show you that whatever you felt he felt the same and stronger.
without hesitating, he brushed closer to you, being able to smell the hair products and see the glint in your eyes as he approached you. “penny for you thoughts?,” he asked softly, seeing you smile nervously as yo finally landed your brush on the outline. “not much, just thinking about school and work. the usual,” you shrugged as lighting struck again.
“what’s the usual?”
“you…” you confessed, looking up to see jude already starting at you. you were being openly honest with him, not wanting to lie because he was the only thing that consumed your head.
“what’s about me?” jude hummed, his finger discreetly tucking a piece of hair behind your ear as he cocked his head to the side. your stomach clenched tightly with butterflies as you could’ve sworn he stared at your lips and leaned closer.
“that if you…” you licked your bottom lip unable to get the words out, feeling like a shy school girl when getting called out or seeing the popular guy at school. “that if you feel the same way i do… feelings wise and that this isn’t just a waste of time or anything like that…” you said quickly, feelings jude’s nose ontop of yours.
“oh those feelings…” jude traced and e his nose into your cheek, watching the way you bit the corner of your lip as he did. “the feelings where you want to be reassured huh? the feelings you’ve hid because you’re afraid they won’t feel the same way? but deep down you know they do feel the same way…” he taunts, closing his eyes and breathing loudly at the proximity.
jude’s nose traced back ontop of yours, watching how you gulped heavily as his top lip ever so slightly brushed against yours. “tell me you want this, y/n… i’ll grant you every wish you want or ask for because i’ll do anything to call you my girlfriend…” jude said breathlessly, his hand coming to hold the back of your head as your pupils grew wide.
your hand came to his jaw, tracing your thumb over his jawline as he closed his eyes and hummed in relief. “kiss me jude…” you whisper not wanting to hold back or be interrupted by anything. jude sucked in a breath tasting your cherry coated lips he pulled you closer, his lips molding with yours that made his heart race a bit.
his lips danced with yours in sync, not once pulling back as all he could focus on was the way the two of you had gotten lost into it. his tongue wanting to be grant permission and tracing over your bottom lip, to be inside to fully taste you, and once he did all he could do was let out a groan as you whimpered. jude was in love with the way you kissed, touched his chest as your lips never parted from his, the way you tasted sweet and all his.
you pulled away first catching a breath as your hands rest on his chest, biting your lip in nervousness. jude looked completely in utter chaos, fucked over, his brown eyes now hooded as they continued to stare at you, running his tongue over his lips to see you shyly smiling. you placed a final peck onto his lips, jude closing his eyes rapidly so he could relish the kiss further.
“god i’ve been dying to do that since we were on that ferris wheel…” jude said chuckling, kissing your closed eyes and tip of your nose, not failing to notice how your lips were slightly swollen and plump from the kiss. he wanted more and now that he said what he wanted to say, there was no going back for the two of you.
“about the girlfriend thing-” you started to say but jude cut you off, “thought our kiss made it clear?” jude teased, watching how you tucked yourself into the crook of his neck feeling giddy. “you are my girlfriend right, princess?” he asked you again, wanting to hear fall from your lips. “yes jude… as long as you’re my boyfriend handsome…” you say coming back up from your spot.
“i think a kiss will confirm it all…” jude cocked his eyebrow, leaning down to capture your lips again, smiling into it as he heard you giggling. a familiar sound of the microwave turning back on and the lights suddenly brighting the room made you realize the power was back on, your kiss interrupted again or maybe was the cause of it.
“oh my gosh! jude look at my painting!”

King and Prince 15
Part 14
We have officially begun the second arc of this fic! Arc 1: Enemies Arc 2: Friends? ....Friends.... (<- You are here!) Arc 3: Lovers
The day before the festivities, Eddie was constantly on his feet and on the move. He had barely a moment to himself. But as the sun set, he took a second to check in on his favorite hostage-turned-guest. But Eddie never did these checks in person. Now seemed to be the time to give Steve as much space as he could. Eddie didn’t know in detail what kind of life he led in his old kingdom, but it couldn’t be anything good. A crown prince should be fighting tooth and nail to get back home. Steve hadn’t made any escape attempts since that last one weeks ago.
Eddie stood by the window of his room and held a hand out to beckon the raven that landed. He stroked its feathers in thanks for letting him see Steve. His eyes became the bird’s eyes whenever he wished, allowing him to see how Steve behaved while he was alone. He never intruded for long, but Eddie wasn’t going to fall to a soft heart and let someone untrustworthy roam without suspicion.
His precaution was starting to appear unnecessary in the end. Because Steve had no plans to harm anyone, not even him. As much as he and Dustin had prodded at the prince to see further than his own nose and learn about what was around him, Eddie had to admit that he too had his own assumptions about him.
He hadn’t imagined the enemy to be an uncontrollable monster like the other side did. But Eddie hadn’t expected someone willingly lending a hand to some kids, who did manual labor with very minimal grumbling. He hadn’t expected Steve to be, well, nice. He might be the first Harrington who Eddie hadn’t wanted to kill on sight.
One thing his little feathered friend reminded him of was the fact that Steve’s wardrobe was severely cut down from what he must be used to. There was certainly a drop of quality as well, though it was comfortable to wear. And Eddie thought he shouldn’t be left out of the fun when it came to new clothes.
-------------------------
The next morning, Steve rose with the sun and had breakfast with the children in the kitchen. Afterwards, he figured his job for the day would be helping out wherever he was needed for the activities around the castle. But when he caught Robin in the hallway, she shook her head at him.
“I don’t have you today. You belong to those kids there”, she pointed to the gaggle catching up from behind.
“Them?”, Steve asked. “But they’re going to-” Their plans all involved the action happening in the town just outside the castle gates. A town filled with this kingdom’s people. People who might want to see Steve’s end, if they knew who he was.
Robin just waved with her fingers as Dustin and El grabbed both of his arms and started to pull him towards the main entrance of the castle. Outside, a wagon was already hitched up to a horse, driver at the ready to take them out. Steve tried to keep the apprehension off his face as he watched the kids get on, then followed after. Obviously the townsfolk couldn’t tell who he was just by looking at him. Even so, what if someone let something slip and the wrong thing was overheard?
His charges were unaware, still talking about all the things to do once they were there. They were already dressed in their new finery, surely with a warning not to get them too dirty before the performance. Steve tried not to feel too disappointed by his own clothing. He didn’t need any eyes drawn to him.
“We’re going to the games first”, Lucas said.
“Who said you’re in charge?”, Max challenged.
“I thought we agreed we should see the market first”, Will said.
“I agree that we should go before they run out of strawberries”, Dustin started. “But we can afford some time to go and see the mechanists first.”
Steve was suddenly struck with why he was put on supervising duty. Without an adult, they’d surely run off in a dozen different directions. They were let out right in the thick of it and Steve was overwhelmed but only for a moment as he clapped his hands and called them to attention.
“Hey. Hey! If one of you gets lost or hurt, that’s my neck on the chopping block!” Steve didn’t want to think of how literal that might be. “I’ll decide where we go and when and I swear to the old gods and new if I hear any griping, you can hop right back on the wagon.”
There was definitely some eye rolling. And the start of groans. And crossed arms. But no one directly opposed him. That left Steve to make a decision. He put his hands on his hips, looking at them one by one as they gazed back expectantly.
“So here’s what we’re going to do”, he began. “You all just ate. We don’t need to go and get berries right now. I promise we’ll go before they run out. It makes the most sense to do the games first. You guys are bouncing off the walls and need something to direct all that energy.”
After which, they’d be in a mood for some kind of refreshing pick-me-up, like freshly picked fruit. And maybe even some kind of meal before seeing what else the people of this town had to offer. His plan was met with minimal protests and for a moment Steve got the idea that they might actually like and respect him. There were games for both young and old, separated by skill level.
Lucas decided to try his hand at archery and Steve felt a twinge of pride, especially when he got a near bullseye on the first try. The next few weren’t as great but he hoped Lucas would remember that first near-win. If nothing else, he might remember the impressed look on Max’s face before she wiped it away, glancing around to make sure no one else saw. Even though the others typically weren’t so swayed by feats of athleticism, they congratulated Lucas.
“You almost got it in!”, Will exclaimed.
“Think of the potential. With an archer, we could be unstoppable!”, Dustin said.
Steve didn’t want to think about what sort of potential they were imagining. He’d thought he’d just follow them around and make sure they didn’t get kidnapped but was thrown off when they dragged him to a different field where there were older competitors.
“I think it’s time you show us what you got”, Mike said, arms crossed.
“What?”
“You talk a big game, but no one’s actually seen you do anything serious”, Max said.
“Lucas was there when Nancy tried to chop my head off”, Steve said in his defense.
Mike shrugged. “Yeah, but she was probably going easy on you.”
“You’d probably be good at that”, El pointed to where a bunch of young adults were tossing spears to see who could get it the farthest.
A simple task, especially given his royal training. Steve thought it almost unfair as he stepped up to compete. But he took the other seriously as he stretched and got ready. He wasn’t surprised when he thrust the spear forward and it fell in a graceful arc leagues further than any other. Still, he was glad that he wasn’t getting rusty up in that castle, locked away. Steve figured he’d proven himself, but then he was pointed to hay bale lifting, then the races, and then a child toss.
“Wait, why am I tossing you guys into the water?”, Steve asked while other people were stretching their legs.
Dustin lit up. “The child toss has a rich history that’s actually hotly debated and only because Eddie won’t tell us what really happened because he thinks its funny how many different stories there are-”
“Just lift them up and throw them in the pond as fast as you can”, Max said.
“As fun as it would be to chuck some of you, not in these clothes”, Steve put his foot down.
Thankfully, they moved quickly to the other games. All things that Steve excelled at. For as much as he was trying to keep a low profile, the townsfolk started to be taken with this talented stranger. It didn’t hurt that many of the events gave them glimpses at his physique. As he promised, once they got their fill of watching him compete, he took them to the market where farmers were presenting the bounties of early spring. It was a good preview of things to come in the following months.
Steve popped a berry into his mouth when he felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned and saw a man he didn’t recognize. For a moment, he thought he’d been seen for who he was, but he read the other man’s body language. There was something a little nervous about it, especially in the way he seemed to want to look at Steve but not meet his gaze.
“Hey uh, so I saw you over at the fields and uh-”
Ah.
Steve licked some of the juice off his fingers and noticed how intensely he was being watched. He had his fair share of bedmates back home and was familiar with the look of desire. It had just been so long since he'd seen it. Before the man could continue, El was calling for him and Max was grabbing him by the elbow. The girls wanted to go and watch the street musicians while the boys wanted to go and visit the mechanists. Steve finally conceded to a split on the condition that they met up for lunch in half an hour.
“Half an hour is barely any time”, Mike complained.
“It’s all you have if you want to eat before seeing the illusionist. You have to be on stage right after that”, Steve reminded them.
Given that time limit, Will and the other boys rushed off to see the new machines and inventions dreamt up during the winter while the girls led Steve towards music playing. Unbeknownst to anyone there, the king was already present, red hood obscuring his face as he sat on a barrel, playing a cheerful tune for his people.

TIMING: Back when Alex&Cass were still living their mushroom ring high. PARTIES: @alan-duarte @magmahearts @ironcladrhett & @letsbenditlikebennett SUMMARY: After seeing the Barbie movie, Cass and Alex are feeling especially chaotic and decide to steal some dye and pool noodles to turn Alan's pool into a Barbie dream. They don't realize they're interrupting an Alan and Rhett spending an evening together.
Movie theaters weren’t really an experience that Alex had thought much about missing out on. Sure, she’d heard classmates talk about hitting up the movies on weekends, but the invitations rarely extended to her and she hadn’t really minded. She liked her books and her garden and her long walks through the forest anyway. However, experiencing it with Cass turned it into something else. They’d both worn pink in honor of the Barbie movie and the whole experience had an air of magic to it. From getting photos in the giant Barbie box to playing a couple of the arcade games and holding Cass’s hand in the dark theater as the movie played, it had all felt electric. It had her buzzing long after the credits stopped rolling and maybe that was part of how they’d found themselves with an assortment of pink pool noodles, pink pool dye, and pink pool floaties jumping the fence to Alan’s pool.
Alex listened carefully as they crossed his property line. She knew if he was home, they’d have to be especially quiet. Sure, she probably could have asked Alan, but then she risked hearing the answer no and trespassing was more fun anyway. She knew Cass would agree on that one. She set the bags down on the ground and offered her hand to Cass to help her down into the yard. “I don’t hear him in there,” she whispered, “So I think we’re good, but should still be quiet anyway.”
Sneaking was part of the fun. They picked up the bags and Alex led them to the pool hand in hand. It was a nice set up, not that she expected anything less from Alan. She wondered if he ever really had people over back here. She knew the wet dog wasn’t exactly the best for a pool party and she had warned Cass about it, but it seemed to be just another thing that the oread was readily able to accept about her. “You wanna get the dye in and I’ll get a couple of these floaties blown up,” she asked, “And then… pool party if you’re still sure the wet dog smell isn’t gonna ruin the mood.”
There was something about seeing a good movie that always made Cass feel like she’d caught fire. It was part of what had drawn her to humanity to begin with, part of what made her reject the notion that humans were bad or scary or inherently wrong. No one who was all bad could make media that captured her so thoroughly. She’d thought, for a long time, that there was no better feeling than sitting in the theater as those credits began to roll and experiencing the euphoria of existing in a space where all you were supposed to do was be.
And then she’d experienced doing all of it with a pretty girl holding her hand and, well, she figured out she’d been wrong. There was something that could make it better. Who knew, right?
This, too, added to the excitement. The mischief of it, the quiet thrill. When they’d seen the pink pool dye on the shelf at the supermarket, the answer as to what they were going to do next had been obvious. Alex knew a guy with a pool, Cass could carry a whole lot of noodles, and some plans formed themselves without much prompting.
“No worries,” she whispered, “I can be quiet. And the wet dog thing won’t bother me at all. I can make the water a little warmer for us, too, if you want.” She wasn’t gonna, like, dump magma in Alex’s friend’s pool or anything, but what if the water was cold at night? Cass didn’t like the cold, didn’t do particularly well in it. “But we should prooobably stay in the shallow end. I sink.” She grinned, shooting her friend a wink as they approached the pool.
Standing on the side, she pulled open the first pack of pool dye. They’d “bought” a few, unsure how many it would take to actually do the deed. “Do you think I just…?” Rather than finishing the thought, she turned the package upside down over the water and began slowly walking around the pool, letting the dye spill out. “Oh, wow, it works fast.”
There was a certain music to the whispered words. Maybe it was just that Alex enjoyed them more than any song she’d ever heard. The quiet laughter, the soft hum of the nighttime breeze, their hearts both pounding with excitement— it was all a perfect soundtrack for a perfect night. Somehow Cass had a way of making everything feel like an adventure. Given their outings usually involved some degree of crime, not that breaking into Alan’s backyard was that crazy of a shenanigan. She doubted the elder werewolf would call the cops on her. Werewolf in jail was simply not the vibe. Plus, even if she hadn’t found Alan’s annoyed face funny, the gleeful look on Cass’s face would have been more than enough to make the minor infarction worth it.
“Good,” she laughed quietly, “Really living up to your role as the hot one here. That’d be awesome though. It’s a little chilly out.” There was a small smirk that she directed at Cass as she got to work on the two coolest floaties– the unicorn and the pink corvette. They had to keep with the Barbie theme and keep some of that movie magic alive and all. “Without the boots, the shallow end is the deep end for me, so sounds like a plan,” she blushed. Something about the wink made it hard to fight the flush from making her cheeks as pink as Alan’s pool was quickly turning.
“Damn,” she mused, “Couldn’t even answer, but I think you got it more than covered.” She got the remaining floatie blown up and tossed it in the pool alongside some of the pool noodles. She began to kick off her boots and made her way towards the steps, holding her hand out to take Cass’s in her own. “Come on, Barbie,” she whispered playfully, “Let’s go party.”
The blush that flooded her face at Alex’s compliment was more of the orangish glow of magma than the pinkish flush that humans tended to grapple with, but Cass didn’t bother forcing her glamour to work overtime to hide it. She had no reason to. Alex was one of the few people who’d seen her in both her forms and liked them both. She didn’t scoff at her use of a glamour the way some fae did, didn’t flinch at the fiery nature of her true form the way humans tended to do. Alex liked her for her. Both ways.
So she let her cheeks grow orange, let her smile widen. Here was someone, she thought, who wouldn’t leave her. Here was someone who didn’t even want to. “I can definitely fix that,” she said quietly, returning Alex’s smirk with one of her own. And then Alex was blushing, too, and there was a thrill of excitement at the fact that Cass had made it happen. The idea that she could make someone happy, make them feel good… It was all kinds of exciting.
Alex made quick work of the floaties, and Cass made quick work of the dye. She might have used… a little too much, given the way it seemed to be staining the edge of the liner, but it was fine. The pool was better pink, anyway; why would whoever lived here ever want it to be anything else. Kicking off her shoes, she took Alex’s hand with a grin. “Ready, Barbie?”
The pool was bright, Barbie pink and the stars reflecting in it gave it an almost sparkling appearance. Paired with the feeling of a warm and now familiar hand in her own, Alex noted that somehow again they gave their adventures an air of movie magic. Even something like a silly prank could feel bigger when she was with Cass and she found she never wanted to lose that feeling. The happiness and hopefulness of it all didn’t scare her like it normally would. Cass already knew she was a monster and wanted to be here with her anyway. It was hard to feel anything but lucky as she led Cass into the pink pool that the oread was quick to warm.
“Ready, Barbie,” she joked as they submerged themselves in the water, “The water’s perfect.” It was probably staining her skin as she spoke, but it was hard to care when it was yet another opportunity to be close to Cass. The rockiness in Cass’s true form was apparent as the hand in hers grounded her. She was able to pull herself closer to Cass while floating just above the floor of the shallow end and she placed her other hand on Cass’s cheek. Even with her glamour, Cass had a certain glow that was hard to look away from, hard to pull away from. It was warm in a way that Alex felt like she could wrap herself in it and shield them both from all the cold in the world. Maybe that was a little unnerving, but Cass liked her too and she did say she’d do something about it.
“You’re the most amazing person I know,” Alex whispered, “You make everything feel like an adventure and I feel really lucky that I get to know you.” She watched Cass’s face, her eyes lingering on the oread’s lips and how they seemed to have a magnetic pull on her. Even if kissing Cass wasn’t the plan, she wasn’t sure she’d be able to convince herself of doing anything else. She felt so warm, so seen, and there was no putting that into words. So she leaned in, prepared to take the metaphorical leap, and her lips were barely a breath away from Cass’s when the backdoor opened. “Damn it,” she breathed, certain that Cass would be able to feel the words before Alex stood taller to look over the edge of the pool. “It’s just me, Al,” she called out.
“Anyhow, if you’re interested, I could probably-” He cut himself off. Why was he hearing noise coming from the garden? That was something that made him want to leave to the countryside. His ears picked up on every single little noise, and while that made for certainly embarrassing discoveries regarding his neighbors, Alan frankly could have done without it. “Excuse me, just going to check on…” His voice trailed off as he walked down the corridor that led to the back of the house and into the garden.
Through the large bay windows, he first caught sight of the atrocities that had been committed against his carefully curated garden. “What the fuck,” the words, above a breath, were spoken as quietly as they were coated with disgust. He repeated them once again, this time lacing each word with disbelief. What happened? Why was his pool such a fucking mess?
Exiting through the back door in a pale pink linen suit, the werewolf walked barefoot onto his wooden deck, locking his angered gaze onto Alex. “What the,” don’t swear in front of kids. Pause. Breathe. It’s just a child. “What did you do to my pool?” His jaw clenched as he caught sight of the tainted liner. Motherfucker. “We’re going to have to fix this.”
The water rushed up to meet her, pink and sparkling and perfect, and Cass let out a squeal of delight as she was submerged. All the while, she gripped Alex’s hand in hers. Unable to float, she balanced on the tips of her toes to keep her head fully above water and give Alex something to grip as an anchor as she bobbed. The water was warm and everything felt perfect. More so when Alex’s hand brushed her cheek, making her feel warm and safe and wanted.
Alex was speaking softly, saying things Cass had wanted to hear all her life. Their faces drew closer and closer together, until she could feel the warmth of Alex’s skin being drawn in by her own fire. Were her skin more sensitive, less rocky, she thought she probably would have been able to feel Alex’s breath against it but for once, she couldn’t bring herself to yearn for things she couldn’t have. What she did have was pretty great, in this moment. There was nothing but air between them not, and Cass smiled as Alex moved to close the rest of that distance, her eyes fluttering shut in anticipation…
…Only to snap open again when the door slammed open.
Cass squeaked comically, pulling away from Alex with a deep blush washing over her features. She turned towards the house to see some old guy standing there, looking… Well, not thrilled. Which was stupid, because they’d made his pool, like, a billion times better. He should really be reimbursing them for all the money they would have spent on that pool dye if they hadn’t stolen it. It was, like, thirty bucks a box!
Having recovered from the initial shock of unexpected company at the worst moment, Cass offered the stranger — Al? — her best smile. She’d perfected it, really. When you were a pickpocket who couldn’t lie your way out of situations, you kind of had to make due with what you had. “We turned your pool pink,” she told him, “in honor of our Lord and Savior, Margot Robbie. Um, I don’t really want you to swim with us right now, but you can keep the floats when we leave. Right, Alex?”
The sudden distance between her and Cass made the werewolf pout. Could Alan have not waited like two more minutes to walk out and have a freak out over his swimming pool being pink? He just had to choose the moment that Alex finally mustered the courage to finally kiss the girl she was decidedly crazy about. There was something in his frustration and Cass’s joke that made her giggle despite herself which she was sure would only piss the older werewolf off more.
“The pink will fade, Olaplex,” Alex joked as she rested her elbows over the edge of the pool, “Chlorine in the pool water is supposed to kill it within a few hours, so embrace your Barbie dreams for the next… however many hours?” She feigned innocence with a tilted head even though she could tell it was starting to stain a little, but surely Alan had a pool person who he paid to keep his pool looking spick and span.
If she wasn’t running on a little bit of a high and inclined to do whatever Cass wanted, Alex probably would have been a little bit more apologetic. Alan had been good to her and well, she cared about the guy more than she cared to admit. But right now was about fulfilling their Barbie dreams. “We’ll be out soon so you can enjoy it before it’s back to being… the just Ken of pools.”
The pie was good. Not that Rhett had had doubts, not exactly—Alan didn’t really strike him as the baking type, but he also didn’t strike him as a liar, so… he knew there would be a pie, he just didn’t know how fuckin’ delicious it was gonna turn out. And it had been a while since the warden had had a good, proper dessert, so he made sure to sing the realtor’s praises.
Post-pie came the tour (didn’t want to leave a trail of crust crumbs, after all), and the showing-off of the dioramas the man so affectionately curated. What a bizarre hobby, Rhett thought. There were stranger ones, sure—like that warden that collected fae wings—and this one was harmless in the grand scheme of things, but it was… unexpected. Curious how Alan continued to be full of surprises.
They were good, though. Extremely charming, which was not an emotion the hunter felt often. So he was enjoying it, exploring the miniaturized scenes with his eyes, until something drew Alan’s attention away from what he was explaining. With a raised brow, Rhett straightened up and watched him go, following after a beat, hands shoved in the pockets of his jeans. As he came upon the bay windows that revealed the scene outside, he laughed.
“Oi, mate, why’s yer pool look like pepto bismol?” he questioned, deeply amused. There were two girls in the water that Alan was talking to now, and Rhett sidled up beside him, looking pleased with the situation. “No, no, I think he oughtta keep it pink. Matches yer suit!”
"You get out of there. Hurry up." Alan didn't care if they came to take a midnight bath in his swimming pool. If he had known, he would have pretended not to see anything, and he would probably have deserted the house for a while. He liked to go for a walk on the waterfront. Admittedly, the smells coming from the mines didn't make you want to stay outside forever, but he had always enjoyed being outside, even if it didn't seem like it. He loved camping. Proper camping, not that glamping bullshit.
Maybe it was being raised the hard way. Although his parents were much kinder these days, indulgence had not been their forte when he was young, and since he was the eldest and the example to follow for his brothers and sisters, one could not say that he had ever been given time to rest during his childhood. Up until highschool, they had kept him on a tight leash. Good luck doing that to the monster that rested within him now, he bitterly thought.
Either way, those camping trips with his parents had been one of those few times when he could relax and sit back a little, and he felt a true connection to the activity. “Now,” his voice quivered, hesitant. He didn’t mind them being here, but he didn’t want them here either. They didn’t ask, they didn’t say they’d be here, and the intrusion was too much. “Alex, please, can you and your -” He cut himself off. Rhett had joined them outside and was having a great time. That made him the sour minority. “It matches my suit,” he rubbed his face. “Rhett, that’s not helpful.”
Alex’s ‘guy who owned a pool’ seemed pretty mad about the whole ‘pink’ thing. Which was stupid, because the pool was better now. Blue was boring and ordinary and stupid, but pink was hot. Literally. That was why they called it ‘hot pink.’ Another guy joined the first, looking like a punk rock Santa Claus with the beard and the outfit, and Cass’s eyebrows shot up. She looked over to Alex, tilting her head with a smirk as if to ask do you think we interrupted an old man date?
In any case, Punk Rock Santa seemed like a lot more fun than Al. While Al was yelling at them to get out of the pool, the other guy — Rhett, apparently? — seemed like he was in on the joke. Cass smiled brightly, wading over to the edge of the pool. Rather than climb out, she cupped her hands together and shoved some of the pink water out, in Al’s direction, laughing as she did so.
“Come on, mate,” she said, glancing over to Rhett with another bright grin as if they were both in on the same great joke now. “Don’t ruin the party! We’re not gonna mess up your boring pool!”
Somehow, the night just kept getting better. At first, Alex had been a little bit disappointed when Alan had come out of the house, even if he was perfectly on theme in his pink linen. He was all concerned about his pool which seemed kind of dramatic. Even if the dye wasn’t temporary, the guy was like crazy rich. It wasn’t like it’d be a problem to fix either way.
But then there was another old guy walking out and Alex felt practically giddy. Was Alan on a date, too? If so, this guy seemed cool and totally liked their joke. Even pointed out how Alan matched his pool now, which was totally a fashion choice, she was sure of it. Still, if this was a date, she could at least listen and get out of the pool. She was pretty sure the moment with Cass was ruined anyway. “Fine,” she said with a dramatic eye roll, “But he is right, you know, it goes perfectly with your outfit. You could be in here with us living your best Barbie life.”
As she moved to get out, Cass was splashing Alan and despite the fact she tried to stifle her laughter, a few giggles still escaped as she stepped out of the pool. Alex tried to direct them at the ground to be a little less blatantly a menace in front of Alan’s date, but she knew Alan would still hear them loud and clear. “You don’t have to worry about the pool though. Will be gone in a few hours,” she assured, “So enjoy your being on theme while you can.”
Well, it was a weak attempt at assuring Alan, but she knew Cass would be amused which seemed like priority one as of late. “She’s my date,” she smirked, “You can say date. Because clearly we all have the same idea about what night of the week is date night.” She stood near the edge of the pool and extended a hand toward Cass. “Come on, Cass,” she motioned hoping the oread would take her hand, “I know his pool’s nice, but the guy’s not Jeff Bezos. And I actually kind of like him or something, so we can let him enjoy his Barbie moment before the magic fades.”
“It’s so helpful!” Rhett argued with a grin, giving Alan a pat on the back before approaching the poolside. That was when he actually noticed it—it’d been quiet to start, probably on account of him being distracted by… well, by the situation, but it was clear as day now.
He looked to the one called Cass and his eyes narrowed imperceptibly. That frantic, uncomfortable energy that buzzed through his head and chest like table saws peaked as his gaze fell on her, and a fist clenched at his side. The urge to grab her and drag her from the pool was instinctual, and he had to fight back against it hard. Not here. Not now.
Their eyes met as she splashed some water toward Alan and plucked a word from what he’d said a moment ago, the grin on her face doing little to make him reconsider the knowledge of what needed to be done. Still, he could fake amiability. It was a practiced talent, even if a bit rusty.
The suggestion that this, Rhett being at the realtor’s house to look at his dioramas and eat pie, was a date, didn’t seem to faze him in the slightest. He at least let his attention pull away from the nymph to jump to the one speaking, Alex, and then back to Alan. He gave a shrug as if to say Well, she’s kinda right and even managed to put on a smirk in spite of the hornet’s nest that sat behind those big, brown eyes.
“Unbelievable. Look at the state of the liner. Do you know how much it’ll cost to replace?” Shooting a glare at Rhett who decidedly was proving to be unhelpful, Alan approached the pool’s side, which really was his mistake, considering how irresponsible the two young ladies were. Who, in their right mind, would break into someone’s property, vandalize it, and then have the nerve to complain when the owner called them out on it ? Well, apparently, the same people who were willing to stain his suit too.
Eyes round like saucers, Alan’s attention went from Alex, to her annoying date, then back to Rhett, looking at him as if to apologize for this nonsense. But he seemed to be having a great time, and that left the werewolf with no other choice than to take a step back and contemplate his loneliness. A crestfallen air on his face, he sat on the end of one of his deck lounging chairs. He wouldn’t argue with teenagers. Come morning, he’d have a conversation with Alex’s cousins. Crossing his arms to hug himself, he looked blankly at the menacingly pink tint of the pool water, jarring and not looking any bit temporary to his eyes.
“You could have asked,” he wouldn’t have said yes to this disaster, obviously, but the benign, very temporary (he tried to remind himself) loss of control left him with a bitter taste in his mouth. Alan didn’t seem like it, perhaps because he always seemed like he had everything in order, but specks of dust in the machine was all it took for him to lose his footing. And that was why he made sure to get rid of any chance of dust, any source of it, anything. He didn’t expect Alex would take such a liking in his company, or grow to trust him like that. Maybe that was what really unsettled him : not the intrusion, but the realization that he was still capable of drawing connections with people.
Cass took no notice of Rhett’s reaction to her. His outward reaction was so minimal, and the events unfolding around it were so much more distracting. Alex was calling her her date, and her heart picked up a tick as it soared in her chest, excitement swirling around it. Alan was talking about his pool liner, and it shouldn’t have been funny but it was anyway. It was hard for anything to harsh her vibe when, even as she climbed out of the pool, she felt as if she was floating.
At least, until Alan seemed to deflate. Guilt gnawed at her, the expression flickering briefly across her face. She shouldn’t have splashed him, she realized; it was clear that he wasn’t having fun, and when someone wasn’t having fun and you laughed anyway, it was less ‘laughing with’ and more ‘laughing at.’ And Cass had never wanted to be the sort of person who laughed at someone. She never really had been before, either. Things had been so… strangely muddled lately, like murky water rising in her chest. It had her doing things she wouldn’t normally do and saying things she wouldn’t normally say.
“Sorry,” she mumbled, looking down at her feet. “We thought you’d like it.” Her stomach clenched at the lie, and she grit her teeth around the pain of it. It wasn’t a huge lie, so the pain wasn’t overwhelming; they hadn’t thought he’d like it, but they hadn’t really thought he’d hate it, either. Cass couldn’t speak for Alex, of course, but for her… she hadn’t really thought of the owner of the pool at all. Her mind hadn’t gone any farther than the girl whose hand was in hers. “Maybe you and your boyfriend can still enjoy it, though? It really is nice once you’re in there. It’s cool. Do you have goggles? I bet it’d look cool to look around underwater with goggles.”
There was something in the way that Alan seemed to grow a bit smaller that made her almost wish for the sharp anger she was used to from her own father. At least then, it was Alex who was chipped away at and that was how it was supposed to be. It seemed Cass picked up on the shift in his mood too and her apology only further made Alex want to help brighten the older werewolf’s mood. She walked toward him and hesitantly patted his arm with an apologetic look. “You don’t have to pay someone,” she offered quietly, “I can come by tomorrow and clean it if it leaves a stain.”
Not that the guy didn’t have the money to get it cleaned professionally if it was needed, but Alex felt bad. The anger seemed to dissipate into something more… crestfallen. Which wasn’t fun. It was fun when Alan was annoyed, but this wasn’t that and it never really occurred to her that the man could have such a blank look in his eyes. He was always so put together like a camera could pop out any moment to get a new business card photo or something, but this? It felt all too familiar to expressions she tried to hide and they didn’t fit Alan. “I’m sorry, too,” she said, “I thought it’d be more annoying haha than… Well, I don’t know. I don’t think I was thinking that much.”
The goggles idea was fun and Alex wondered why they hadn’t stolen those from the store, too. It probably looked super cool in the pink water and at least if she had that to offer, maybe Alan could at least try to enjoy it. Or not. If his date didn’t know about the werewolf thing, the wet dog smell could be off-putting. She’d really lucked out with Cass in that department and instinctively, her hand found Cass’s again. “Goggles are a good idea,” she agreed, “But enjoy your date, I’m sorry. Chlorine should kill off the pink before the morning. I’ll come by and clean anything remaining? I can bring breakfast, too. Don’t worry, it won’t be cooked by me– my cousin or A Latte to Love do all my cooked breakfast items.”
It was a little sad, seeing the normally cocky (or surprisingly helpful) man look so defeated. Though Rhett’s thoughts wanted to turn to one thing and one thing alone, he knew that there was no way he’d be getting to that fae kid tonight. But he knew people who knew it, and could follow up at a less conspicuous time. So, the warden put a padlock on that particular door for now, letting the shitstorm brew somewhere where it couldn’t be seen.
Boyfriend. Hah. “Ah… c’mon, Al. It ain’t that bad,” Rhett offered, already kicking off his boots and rolling up the legs of his jeans. “They’re sorry, aye? Won’t happen again. Coulda picked a worse color, anyway… imagine green. Or brown.” Pulling a face at the two young women, focusing his gaze on Alex rather than Cass, he did his best to be agreeable. “N’ look, they was in it, n’ they ain’t pink. Yer liner’s gonna be fine.” He parked his butt poolside, dipping his shins into the brightly colored water and smirking down at the sight of it. Leaning back on his hands, he motioned for Alan to come over where he was with a jerk of his head. “Don’t fret ‘bout the shit ya can’t control, mate. Ain’t nothin’ to do ‘bout it but enjoy it.”
Rubbing at his face, the older werewolf’s gaze fell to a point in the distance. He knew that whatever he would say wouldn’t be kind and that’s why he chose silence. For better or worse, his days of being bound to kindness had made him reassess his preferred ways of dealing with others. There would still be folks that would prefer his old fashioned way of making conversation, defensive and aggressive at once, but no one, who wasn’t asking for it, deserved his rage pouring out on them.
And now he sat on the edge of the pool alongside Rhett, who tried his best, just like Alex and her friend, to assure him that it would be okay, or tried to have him see the silverlining in the upsetting situation.
He took a breath. Maybe he just had to accept that not everything in his life could be under his control. Considering all the shit he had gone through, he should have realized by now that all you could ever do was just that : go with the flow and accept things the way they came your way. He'd probably have been a lot less exhausted if he just let things happen, yes.
With a sigh, the werewolf looked over at the two girls, offering them with a reassuring smile. All in all, this was hardly the worst thing they would have done. "You two enjoy the rest of your night, and try to stay safe," with a knowing look, he crossed his legs against the tiles, leaning onto his hands. "Breakfast sounds good Alex. I'll see you tomorrow morning," if you could tell from his tone that he hadn't fully recovered from the bad surprise, at least, for now, most of his distress seemed to have quieted down and he allowed himself to glance over at Rhett, who hadn't say much on the date or boyfriend comments, and who probably was gloating about the realtor's embarrassment. "Don't. Not a damn word."
For a moment, Cass was afraid that they’d really messed up. Alex’s friend was mad, and what if that made Alex mad at her? What if the whole ordeal turned Alex off of whatever it was that was building between the two of them? Cass’s heart picked up pace at the idea, fear taking her by the throat in a strangling grip. But the combination of Alex and Alan’s bearded friend seemed to work wonders in calming him down, and after a moment, he relaxed a little. Cass offered him an apologetic smile, trying to push down the leftover anxiety.
“We will,” she replied, looking over to Alex with a small smile. It was kind of hard not to enjoy a night she got to spend with Alex. “You guys have a nice night, too. Um, have fun doing… whatever you were doing?” Better not to think about what the details of that had probably been. “And we’ll clean up when we go!”
There was something in Alan's voice that still didn't sound quite right to her. It seemed to be a lot deeper than a pink swimming pool. Alex knew it had to be bigger than a pink swimming pool. As much as he kept both his home and office looking almost coldly pristine, it was still just a pool and couldbe fixed. There was this underlying feeling that ther ewas something bigger that she couldn't quite understand, but she found the older werewolf surprised her in a lot of ways.
”See you tomorrow,“ Alex murmured, ”And please try to enjoy the rest of your night. That pink linen suit is way too slay to have anything but fun in.”
She offered Alan and Rhett an awkward wave before turning back to Cass to grab the oread's hand. Her gaze fell to the pink pool that she had thought looked so amazing at first and found herself hoping the color faded quickly. They could at least gather all the pool noodles for now so that it looked less like soup. “Come on,” she reassured, “We'll collect the noodles for now and I'll come back in the morning to make sure all the pink gets out... what do say we go try to find some lava cakes or something?”

Trying to wrap my head around my thoughts re: 2012 and Rise, and how they hit my brain, and it’s like...
The things I think these two series are missing/needed to improve on are what the other series did really well?  Like, each show would be enhanced by borrowing from the other (an impossibility in one direction due to the linear nature of time, but you get me).
And now I'm going to post about it to hopefully trick my brain into thinking I talked to someone about it so that maybe it'll let me think about anything else.
Uhhh putting a read more because this is mostly just a brain-dump ramble to free my mind from the topic-loop and it got.  Long.
Okay, exposing my biases ahead of time: while I very much enjoyed both series, I will admit that Rise appeals more to my personal taste.  I do also like 2012!  I liked it a lot, it’s just that, you know, I’m easily drawn in by cool 2d animation and anime bullshit, and also Rise’s humor matches mine better, which means it's the one I’m more likely to re-watch.  However, that doesn't mean I think Rise is perfect.
Also, for the sake of this rant, we’re going to be ignoring the circumstances surrounding production.  Yes, yes, we all know the executives specifically asked for Rise to have a much lighter tone, and that it got cut really short, and that affected how things panned out – but I don’t know enough about 12’s production to compare them fairly on that front.  So.
MOVING ON FROM THAT.
Let’s start with ROTTMNT.  I love Rise, love a good shenanigan, but... can you really deny that it would have been nice to have a more even split between pure shenanigans and more serious episodes?  Even just getting closer to 50/50?
Don’t get me wrong, the shenanigans absolutely have their place and actually contribute to what I like about Rise’s writing (which I will talk about in the 12 section), but the overwhelming amount of them really messes with the pace of the show overall, and with the escalation of tension.
Obviously, you can’t have every episode have the spectacle of an episode like, say Many Unhappy Returns, I'm pretty sure animating that shit's expensive, and early on it’s not like they really know what they’re slowly being dragged into, but... post Shadow of Evil, you’d kind of like them to acknowledge the stakes more, right?  And even before the turtles themselves know, you’d like the slow build that only the audience is getting to be a bit more consistent, right?
You’d like the weaving together of the plot and character arcs episode-to-episode to just be a bit more well-thought out... wouldn’t you?
And that is what TMNT 12 is good at.
I personally think 12 peaked in season 2 (I was so engaged with that season, the buildup was phenomenal), but throughout the entire series it is obvious just how much effort they are putting into developing these interweaving plots, and it pays off.  Every episode is a self-contained story, true, but even from season 1 you can see how even the most one-off episode is putting at least one thing into the Rube Goldberg machine that’s going to go off at the end of the season.  It honestly impressed me how they balanced “you can watch any episode on its own because tv has re-runs" and “every episode leads into the next until everything blows up”.
The end of season 2, when the tension they've been ratcheting up inch by inch nearly every episode finally releases, and all the dominoes start falling and danger is coming from every direction? Mwah. Stellar. Like, devastating cliff-hanger of an ending, but also the satisfaction of seeing it all fall apart? It's gripping.
Also, they acknowledge the stakes.  12 is obviously going for a much more serious tone, and covers some heavier topics like revenge, obsession, healing, ect (in a kind of surface level way for young kids, yes, but this is a nickelodeon toy-selling series.  Genre and intended audience matters).  I may not always agree with the answers they come to, but they are trying!  As opposed to Rise where the enemies feel... kind of out-of-sight, out-of-mind, in 12 the Shredder, and occasionally the Kraang, are a constant threat that they are always aware of.
While the setup is different (12!Shredder wants them dead specifically, whereas the Rise boys don’t really know what the Shredder will want other than mass destruction when the armor is complete), you kind of feel like the danger could have maybe been a little more acknowledged in Rise.
And like... the move into season 2 had them getting the Shredder armor "contained", which they used to go so far backwards on stakes which is... I mean, there were other choices they could have made.
You can argue that many shows reset the stakes when you beat the season boss at the end, but... Rise specifically went straight back to "straight shenanigans with little awareness of the outside world", repeating the "occasionally things are happening to build up to the end outside the turtle's awareness" and it's. It's a pacing and escalation, issue, again. And yes, we got some of my favorite episodes out of season 2! Season 2 had some good episodes! But also... I would have liked the stakes to progress just a bit?
When you finally had such a huge shift in the plot, and then suddenly you go ALL the way back down the where you started in stakes and tone it can be a bit... jarring. It's a pacing and escalation issue, again.
Also, if we’re going a bit more abstract, Rise could have had more serious episodes relating to their main theme/focus.
2012 was obviously focusing on their plot, and specifically the history between Splinter and Shredder, and the concepts of revenge and obsession.  And it came up a lot!  It was threaded through the majority of the episodes.  I might not always personally agree with the conclusions they came to, but I can’t deny they treated it with gravitas.
Rise seemed to be focusing on family bonds and family baggage.  And it's woven into a lot of the silliness. And there are also some episodes that address it seriously!  And they’re GOOD!  But, uh – there could definitely have been more.  Especially for the Splinter-children relationships.
They went with a very risky play for Splinter and his arc, and while I personally liked the shape of it, I can understand the people who take a very negative interpretation of this Splinter because there were not enough episodes dealing with reconciling his relationship with his kids.  They made a point to show that things were strained, made the theme family bonding, and then... didn’t put in enough episodes to finish off their main theme.
Don’t get me wrong, what Rise does have for their characters is very, very good.  Again, I’ll be talking about it in the 2012 section.  It’s just... the pacing of it all.
So, what I think Rise needed is what 2012 excelled at – pacing and interweaving of the plot, proper escalation of stakes, and time spent highlighting their main theme in more serious episodes.
Now, the other half of the equation: 2012.
I mentioned earlier that 2012 was going for a more serious tone, and that it was focused on the plot.  And they did it well!  It paid off!  I just maybe, personally, think that came at the cost of the character writing.
It’s not that it’s bad.  They’ve got a strong sense of character voice for their main cast.  It’s just that when you go anywhere beyond that it’s really... average for a kid's cartoon, and when compared to the obvious effort they went to when weaving together the plot it sticks out.  Of course, authors are allowed to lean into plot-based narrative over character-based, and this might just be personal taste again, but...
I’m going to put in a reminder that everything in this rant is based on how the writing hit my brain specifically.  Different people will experience the same story differently, yes?  Yes.
That being said, the character writing for 2012 hit me weird.  There were “character episodes” in between the plot ones, yes, but they didn’t feel... connected?  If the pacing of the plot in Rise felt weird and disjointed, the character arcs, if I could find them in 12, felt the same way.  It’s like they would drop in a really interesting nugget for a character into a single episode, and I’d be excited to see where it went – and then it would either be shoved way in the background from there on out, or dropped completely.  It often left me feeling like I’d missed a step going down the stairs, when I expected them to start working on a character arc and they just went back to the status quo.  That’s not uncommon for a kids show, but... they put so much more effort into the intricacies of the plot!
What ended up feeling missing was a development of the characters from an internal perspective.  That is, hm.
I mentioned earlier that there were narrative benefits to the shenanigan structure of Rise.  The first half of this is because it lives and dies by its characters.  They can’t depend on an engaging plot to capture your interest long-term, because the plot is only in select episodes, so by god you better be attached to these characters.  While part of the humor is, yes, the situations they get into, the other part is the character dynamics – both the friction between them, but also the positive synergy between them.  That’s not to say 2012 doesn’t have character interactions – they've got their banter – it's just that it doesn’t have to carry the episode the way it does in Rise.
The other half of the narrative benefits is that more episodes can be motivated by the character’s internal desires, rather than external forces.  Stepping outside of TMNT to reference everyone’s favorite cartoon, Avatar, for every, say, Avatar Roku, you’ve gotta have a The Waterbending Scroll.
2012 is largely driven by its plot – which is a good plot!  But what felt like, eh, 90% of the time?  Everything that’s happening is motivated by what the antagonists are doing – the Kraang/Purple Dragons/Foot are doing this bad thing, or coming after us, and we have to stop them, because we’re the good guys/they’ll kill us if we don’t.  Not bad, objectively, it certainly raises stakes!  But also, it doesn’t really let us in on, like, the character’s internal world or what they want.
With Rise’s shenanigans...
Origami Tsunami happens because the boys got a taste of fighting and want to chase that high.  Shell in a Cell happens because Raph loves wrestling, his brothers seem to like it well enough or otherwise want to hang out/humor him, and Leo is feeding his ego/fighting his insecurities.  Repo Mantis is because Donnie and Mikey were hanging out while Donnie collected resources(?), saw something they wanted, and went balls to the walls to acquire it.  The Purple Jacket happens because Donnie wanted to experience toxic academia and fashion.  I could go on.
My point is Rise leaves more space for the episodes to be internally motivated, and that ends up telling us a lot about their characters!  What did they want?  How did they specifically go about trying to get it?  Did they involve others?  Who did they involve?  It adds depth to them, even in the silly goofy show!
There is also one specific writing trick Rise uses which I wish could go back in time and be implemented into 2012, and that is: “line played for laughs in one episode” > “oh wait they were serious”.
I’m talking the “my first positive reinforcement from a parent-aged adult. EVER.” to Turtle-dega Nights pipeline.  Minotaur Maze to Many Unhappy Returns for Leo.  Arguably Pizza Puffs to the series finale for Raph, if you follow me.  Reparin’ the Baron to Hidden City’s Most Wanted.
Even in the jokes, the throw-away lines, Rise is exposing what makes the characters tick.  And then when it hits, it hits.  This is why, while the Rise arcs are kind of incomplete, the writing still feels more consistent to me and I find it easier to see the intended arc they were going for.
And I so so so wish 2012 had that kind of thing, or ANY more focus put on character development, because, not to harp on this again, but they’ll drop in this one really interesting line or action from a character in a single episode focusing on them, then never mention it again or develop on the concept, and it kind of makes me feral because, like -
I want to gather up all these weird little scraps they give about these characters and pin them up conspiracy-board style and go: why didn’t we get a plot line about this?  Or this?  Did you notice how a lot of the time Raph is pushing for more action against their enemies, he brings up that they’re out there hurting more people?  And that could indicate a unique empathy for the victims, which would have been an interesting expansion on the vengeance theme of the showing, looking at justice v vengeance when ti comes to people without the ability to fight back?  Leo has a lot of tension between wanting to be a good leader and wanting the freedom to make impulsive choices and chase what he wants, which is interesting when you also look at moments we see with his two role models the sci-fi hero (who is kind of an asshole) and Splinter (who, while wise, has baggage that sometimes affects his decisions), and it feels like somewhere between all that there could have been an expanded storyline that actually resolved that tension between responsibility and personal desire that would have lead to his own version of leadership?  What about getting a focus on the few lines Donnie gives about his insecurities/stress re: his scientific abilities/role, rather than dragging him into his extremely bland romantic b-plot?  Can we address the weird way Mikey did chemistry magic two or three times but it’s never brought up outside that, or that one line by the anger-persona in his mind explicitly saying he tries to repress his anger because he doesn’t like the way it feels, or, or -
Why do they keep dropping these really interesting inciting incidents for character arcs and then not going anywhere with them I am losing my mind I am shaking the writers why do you keep teasing me like this -
Ahem.
Additionally... well, I mentioned above that Rise has a main theme of family bonds, where... 2012 kind of struggled to convince me of any relationship. Or, no, that sounds harsher than what I really mean.
I also want to clarify that I am not saying I think they dislike or don't care about each other, or any of the extremely negative takes I’ve seen thrown at the 12 characters dynamics.  That’s not it at all.  It’s just that they all felt... very surface level?  Sometimes it felt like the show wanted you to just accept that the characters were close without putting in the work to really show it.  And definitely not to explore it in depth.  (And I know, I know, I know!  It’s a Nick kids show!  But!  They put so much effort into the plot!)
Again, I think this is affected by the lower usage of internal motivation for episodes.  Characters doing things because they want them, then seeing how those different desires interact, gives you a better view of their relationships than just seeing a team work together because they have a common enemy.
Again, it’s not that 2012 never does this.  We see glimpses of them playing around – competing to do flips when running the city, watching their tv shows, playing pinball (was it pinball? Or an arcade game?).  It’s just that the emphasis on the plot (not an objectively bad thing!) leaves less room for episodes based on them just... doing things together, because they want to.  And less room for engaging in personalized interests together, rather than separately, and seeing how that plays out.
I think I’m devolving into senseless rambling at this point, so to sum up:
2012’s emphasis on plot – which it generally excels at! – leaves less room for exploring stories based on internal motivations, which I find necessary for consistent character arcs or relationship development and are the elements Rise kind of lives on when its plot is running thin.
Hopefully none of this is taken as an attack on/dislike for either iteration.  I like them both!  It’s just they both drive me a little bit crazy with what could have been!
Of course, this is all down to personal taste and interpretation.  I am fairly aware of my biases, I think.  I am very much attracted to character-driven narratives, and even in plot-based ones I have a tendency to care more about the character implications than the plot itself.  There’s a reason Days (the oops all character writing game) is my favorite Kingdom Hearts story!
(I do, also, really, really like anime bullshit, so do with that what you will.)
I am also aware that I binge-watched this series as an adult years after it ended, and that combination of factors may affect my reception.  (Admittedly I did that for both series, but).  Your experience might be very, very different, but I’m trying to understand the way these two shows are hitting my brain.
Thinking it over also gives me a hypothesis (which other people have probably already figured out) of why certain people are drawn to one series of the other: 2012 probably appeals more to people who are engaged by continuous, interconnected plots and careful pacing in a story, while Rise probably appeals to people who are more engaged by pure character pieces (and anime bullshit).

Ep. 7 - We’ll return when we drift apart
Hello my fellow souls,
welcome back to Danbi’s Room, your weekly dose of safe space. Go grab a cup of something warm and get yourself cosy.
I hope you had a nice and fulfilling week!
I’m back with original pieces, thank you again for your patience and understanding.
Goodness, so many things to say…okay let’s start.
I feel that, in general, we have given up on magic. I wouldn’t say it’s because “we have the proof it’s total nonsense”. I see it more as “ we got to a point where we’re conditioned to think we can’t afford to believe in it”. Now, obviously this topic is sociologically complicated, but at the end of the day it doesn’t even matter, ‘cause we’re in Danbi’s Room and what matters is to talk about our feelings and share stuff right?
So, call me crazy but I do believe in magic. I also believe that the concept of what magic is can vary for each one of us. An advice I’d give you is to start looking for it in the small things. You know, it’s just another way of connecting the dots and following what our heart actually wants.
Like the broken compass.
You know, the one Jack Sparrow uses. It doesn’t point to the North. As mad and useless that might seem at first, it’s the opposite. The so-called broken compass guides you towards what you truly desire, towards what your soul actually craves. Now, this naturally raises two questions. The first would be that you need to have at least an idea of what you want for all this to work. Not an easy task at all, given that you have to set directions and determine a path (that can totally change along the way), but it’s not impossible. It’s hard. it’s tiring, it requires effort, sure, but it’s between you and…you.
The second question is that if you’re not already surrounded by your people you’re going to be misunderstood, judged, looked down upon. Heavily. Why would you use a compass that seems broken to anybody else? Why would you trust it?
The point is exactly that: trusting the compass means trusting yourself. Trusting your gut, trusting your dreams who will be manifested along the way. Trusting your own magic and the one encompassing you. Again, most people don’t do that, not anymore. They let their wise inner child be buried alive. They’re still there screaming but nobody listens. Even so, magic is still such a huge component of our being we are instinctively drawn to anything resembling it: fantasy fiction, dressing up, being in Nature, religions, praying, any type of art really…and more things to count. Not that differentiating these categories is pointless but I believe we should also acknowledge they all somehow fall under the term “magic”.
Yeah I digressed. But it’s useful to make my point, which is that people who don’t believe in magic will try to drag you down in every possible way. They’ll say they do it for you, that they love you, that it’s better their way, it’s safer. And you’re crazy, you will fail, or, even worse, you’re already a failure. You’re a “weirdo”. They envy the sparkle in your eyes, that glimpse of the universe you got within you.
You might not agree with what I’m about to say, but, for God’s sake, dont listen to them. Even if they’re loved ones, don’t let them kill you, don’t bury your inner child alive. Please, I beg you. Listen to that kid, they know better. Protect them, they will protect you. Even when it’s difficult and terrifying, hold on a bit more. Celebrate your unique way to live, of orienting yourself. You create you’re own direction, isn’t that amazing? And we’re born with it, we’re born oriented, we’re born knowing how to relate our body to space, both internally and externally. I find that extraordinary.
Don’t lose that.
And remember: you’re not crazy, and even if you are, that’s fine.
If they mock you, if they laugh behind your back, they are, most likely, even crazier than you.
Today’s song recommendation is, for obvious reasons, Broken Compass, both the 3Racha version and the Stray Kids version. I would take a look at the lyrics if I were you, while enjoying CB97’s great production.
I hope you enjoyed this episode and that you have a beautiful week ahead of you!
I’ll see you in the next one, big hug!
With love, yours,
Danbi

WIP words: rise, stop, blue
WIP word game
My current WIP is a fic for The Dark Crystal/The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance that is saved in a file called "GraGoh hands", located in my "Short Fiction" folder because I thought I was going to write 2,000 words and be done. It is now over 140,000 words and I only have one! More! Scene! and I am pretty excited about this.
There's one "rise" that shows up pretty early, when SkekGra is contemplating a very difficult question: Who the fuck is GraGoh?
The other part of why it was strange to think about becoming GraGoh again was that if GraGoh was all of SkekGra and all of UrGoh as a complete whole, then in SkekGra’s opinion GraGoh had been (and presumably would again be) a very, very weird person. (Or would GraGoh be the midpoint of everything that was SkekGra and UrGoh? What would that even look like? What was the midpoint of—of—
UrGoh had once started telling a joke at suns’ rise—There was once a skeksis who got lost in the valley of the mystics. The mystics fed him and led him to a tiny cave in which to sleep. The skeksis slept serenely until a strange and beautiful sound awakened him. The next morning, as the mystics were telling him the way back to the castle, he asked about the sound that had awoken him. “We’re sorry,” the mystics said. “We can’t tell you about the sound. You’re not a mystic.”—and had drawn the thing out all day—...then they opened the door of silver, then they opened the door of wax, then they opened the door of paper, then they opened the door of glass, then they opened the door of ice, then they opened the door of wood...—and then, in the brilliance of the desert sunset, had finally reached the point where the skeksis-turned-mystic-somehow had looked upon the source of the strange and beautiful sound. And then UrGoh paused. For much longer than usual. And so SkekGra, almost apoplectic with impatience by this point, had asked, “So what was the source of the sound?” And UrGoh had turned to him, and said, as if it should have been obvious, “I can’t tell you. You’re not a mystic.” SkekGra had literally jumped up and shrieked.
And then he’d learned what UrGoh’s uncontrolled laughter sounded like. That had been...interesting. And nice. Because that was when SkekGra had learned that more than pain could flow through their connection, his entirely justified frustration quickly ebbing away at the sound of his mystic laughing until he was laughing, too. When they’d both calmed down he’d mentioned that good feelings moved through their bond now, apparently. It had seemed obvious to SkekGra, but UrGoh hadn’t verbally agreed. He’d just smiled at SkekGra as if he knew something that SkekGra was hopelessly in the dark about. Huh. That had been odd, hadn’t it? The point was—what was the midpoint of something like that? Was it not telling the joke at all? Was it telling a better joke? A shorter one, at least? What was GraGoh’s sense of humor like?)
(That's a real joke, if you don't recognize it, except that it's about a random person and monks. It's meant to yank the chain of the person it's being told to.)
There's another sunsrise, thoughts that rise to the top of one's mind, the rise and fall of a sound, and the rise and fall of breath.
"Stop" occurs a lot in this fic, actually, so I'll share an excerpt from the first quarter or so that maybe could have been the end of the short fic I thought I was going to write. It's a moment at the end of A Extremely Significant Manicure.
SkekGra took a breath and nervously blew it out his nose. He didn’t really need to be so nervous, he’d touched all kinds of things without scratching them when he’d kept his claws this long or longer, and about this sharp, as the Conqueror. But nothing he’d touched then had mattered as much as UrGoh. “Well, I—all right, I’ll know right away if I need to stop, anyway.” He placed his hands on UrGoh’s, letting himself really feel his skin. His hands were warm, less bony than SkekGra’s, and were covered in a map of calluses that SkekGra knew would serve as a chart of UrGoh’s daily activities. These were the hands that had shown such care to SkekGra’s own, had sharpened his claws not to make him better able to be cruel or violent, but to make him more himself, to make something beautiful. To care for him. If SkekGra worried more about accidentally scratching UrGoh like this, he also found he felt more worthy of touching him with freshly shaped claws. So I’ll just touch him, he thought, it’s easy, right? I’ll just touch him like I’m memorizing the details on some finely crafted object. He moved his fingertips down UrGoh’s palms with deliberate slowness, feeling the tiny landscape of creases beneath his touch, and, yes, it was all right, he could do this, the connection between his body and brain that was familiar with having claws and modulating the pressure of his touch, that was still there, working unconsciously. He knew his claws were in contact with UrGoh’s skin, but the pressure of that contact was far from that needed to pierce or scratch. He felt no pain in his own hands. It was all right. It was all right. He could touch UrGoh.
When his fingertips finally parted from UrGoh’s, he looked up just in time to see him shiver slightly. SkekGra let out a brief laugh that was mostly breath. “Being touched by skeksis claws still kind of unsettling, even if you sculpted them, huh?”
“Unsettling…” UrGoh smiled his I-know-something-you-don’t smile. “Maybe you do unsettle me. And...sure, I shivered...but I promise you…” He reached out and used all four hands to capture SkekGra’s two. “It wasn’t, and won’t ever be, out of fear.”
Pfft, the first time "blue" shows up is in a sexual fantasy SkekGra is having about UrGoh. I'll save that for later. Actually...most of the uses of blue have to do with sex, because of UrGoh's dark blue skin. Here's one of the few that isn't. Context: UrGoh has made a little carving of SkekGra to take with him when he goes to meet the Dousan caravan for supplies.
SkekGra put his thumb on the top of the carving’s head. He hadn’t noticed right away—and he probably would have worked himself into knots over it if UrGoh hadn’t said anything. Now, though—“I’m glad—it’s good the carving doesn’t have a nail. It’s something—it happened, but it doesn’t need to—I don’t know—spread.”
“It’s not what defines you...to me.”
SkekGra paused for a long moment, looking at the strangely graceful little carving. “The face paint, though—that’s essential.”
“I wouldn’t have dreamed…of leaving it out.”
“I’ve thought—a little—of drawing you. Painting you,” SkekGra blurted. “I’d guess from this you wouldn’t mind—if it was possible to get more pigments at the caravan—but—ah, fuck, blue’s a really expensive color, isn’t it? I’m going to get used to making do, I swear I am—”
“I’ll get you blue,” UrGoh said. “And much more.”

helloooos ✨
big agree about tightrope being on a wedding playlist because it's just so. tender. especially the way he sings "something told me it was you" in four different ways and tones in the chorus makes me wanna sob 🤧 and i don't even want think about the parallels between "we are who we are when we're alone" and "cause we are who we are when no one's watching" from i won't mind 😭😭
i completely get you because i'm just very weird when it comes to people. i always tend to end up in slightly bigger groups of people and it's like a dream sequence when i'm with them and it's all so happy and fun but at the same time there'll be days when i just feel so overwhelmed by all the social interaction that i just want it to be a bit quiet for some time. and god, i love winters so much, but i hate that it comes with this unrealistic yearning to just have someone you love by your side, just to hold you for a little while 😔
the thing about van gogh, and bear in mind this is my minimalistic knowledge, is how much he represents most artists and how much you need to feel to create art, specifically pain. i know i'm making a bold statement here, but i feel like every piece of art is tinged with slight emotion of pain and melancholia and that's sort of what makes it so comforting and i think he was able to capture those two feelings and juxtapose it into nature really well 🤍
god yeah i love how there's always so much to know when it comes to different countries and their cultures and it always frustrates me to no end how i'll never be able to learn it all in a lifetime. especially languages!
friendship to me would be a soft cream shade, because it's neutral and you can always build up on it by colouring it in with whatever colour another person makes you feel. love to me is blue and the vastness it represents and how when you love someone, you can learn to love them everyday and how you're always falling in love no matter how long you've known this person because people change and grow too 💙
if your life so far were to be made into a movie, what songs would you like to be part of the soundtrack for it? also, what actor would you like to play you in the movie?
sending you hugs and warmth 🫶
- s 💌
hi 🫶🏻
i was doomed from the first time i listened to tightrope bc no other song feels as tender and soft and full of love. it’s just so warm it makes me want to cover myself up in a blanket and be safe. and zayn’s vocals are always angelic but singing ballads?? it’s just another level completely. i’d completely forgotten about i won’t mind oh my god you’re so right 😭😭
for me, it always takes me the longest time to open up to someone. it’s easier if i have an excuse to see them everyday and just gradually get to know them. i don’t trust easily and i don’t dive in head first, so i always struggle to meet people who actually have the patience to get to know me. i have friends now that i love and trust but i don’t see them so often that we’re incredibly close. and i’m starting to have work friends which is nice but they don’t really know me yet. sometimes i just wish it was easier to know someone and be able to trust them but i also haven’t gone to therapy so i know it won’t happen that easy. either way, idk if it’s bc it’s winter or just overall my week’s been very hectic, but i wish i could just talk to someone and cuddle with them and just have them take care of me for a bit. it sucks being stuck in your head 90% of the time.
i agree with your thoughts on van gogh and i actually had a teacher tell me that he thought van gogh was incredibly depressing, which i agree and i think is one of the reasons i’m drawn to him as such. to take all this burden and sorrow and pain and sadness and everything else he had going on in his head and interpret it to create such masterpieces. i also think a lot of his nature paintings, especially the ones that have fields and meadows etc, have this feeling of loneliness and solitude. some food for thought i guess. i’d love to see them in person to actually capture their true essence firsthand.
if i could i would love to understand at least five more languages than i do currently. i don’t have the words for it right now but something something grasping the true meaning of art and culture through its original language 😪
oh i love that each friendship to you might change shades! that’s a lovely thought. i never think about all the ways my relationships are different with each person i know, but it makes sense that no two friendships would be exactly the same. and honestly, i’d never thought of love blue like an ocean. it’s a beautiful comparison. i dream of feeling love like that someday 💙
oh that’s a hard one! i feel like it’d be a very boring movie, but alas. there ofc has to be some 1d in there, probably some the 1975 and hozier and most definitely some florence and the machine, most likely dog days are over. i’ll have to think on specific songs a bit more. as far as actors go, off the top of my head maybe saoirse ronan? not bc i look anything like that but i just adore the way she acts. and while i’m at it, why not maybe andrew garfield as well? i’d love that for me. what about you? which songs/artists would make the cut and who would you like to play you?
i hope you had a lovely weekend and i hope next week is nice and calm and easy 💖💞💓💗💕💝

Now that DNAngel is officially My City Now, I'm doing a full outline for LaT and my favorite part of the process is trying to figure out how to do Hiwatari in the context of my plotline and---
"If Hiwatari good, why act so bad???????????" is probably my favorite motivation note in the whole thing

One of these days, you’re going to kill your coworkers.
You love them, you really do, but sometimes they can just be so dumb. It was Donghyuck and Renjun who came up with the idea to play this stupid game, one that is probably only played by naive 12 year old girls during slumber parties.
Normally you’d just brush it off, but Renjun had called you a wimp, so naturally you had to do it. Which is how you’ve ended up on your back with your best friend massaging circles into your forehead.
“Red door, yellow door, any other color door,” is being chanted around the room. You fight the urge to move your neck to a more comfortable position on Mark’s lap. Your hand twitches above your head, where your arms are raised. “This is stupid,” You whisper, and Mark laughs, scolding you lightly.
After a while, the mindless chanting lulls you to sleep, and you feel yourself drift off.
“What do you see?”
Two doors appear in front of you, one red and one yellow. They both look kind of old, paint chipping and peeling off.
“Anything else?”
A black door appears next to the yellow one and you find yourself drawn to it, wanting to go in. This one is shinier, considerable newer and more inviting compared to the other two
“Go in.”
You open the door and walk through, a sense of relief flooding through your senses as you give in to the pull. The room that you find yourself in seems never ending, the only thing in it a large bed.
“Do you see anyone?”
A man appears, sitting on the bed. The suit he’s wearing is unfitting for the plain surroundings- in fact, he’s unfitting for the surroundings in general. His teeth are blinding white when he smiles, not a hair out of place on his entire head. He’s attractive, all golden skin and beautiful features. Almost too beautiful. A shiver crawls up your spine, a tinge of discomfort bleeding into your senses. He smiles, dimples popping out, and you push the discomfort to the back of your mind.
“Who are you?” Your voice comes out distant to your own ears, echoing around you.
“Call me Jaehyun. Why don’t you come here, little bird? We can get properly acquainted.” The voice sounds haunting, like a distorted video. You wouldn’t believe that he’s speaking if his lips didn’t move in sync. Despite the unnatural voice sounding warning bells in your brain, you find yourself moving forward automatically and settling down on his lap when he pats his thigh for emphasis.
“And what’s your name, little bird?” He trails a hand up and down your thigh and you shiver, leaning back against him. He chuckles when you tell him your name, a pleased smile lighting up his features.
“Well, little bird, seems that we’re going to have some fun together.”
Your name is being echoed all around you, and you wake with a jolt, eyes flying open to see Mark staring at you.
“Are you okay?” The rest of your group is also gathered around you, standing in a half circle.
“Yeah, just fell asleep for a bit. Why?” You push yourself onto your elbows, sitting up so that you can lean against Mark.
Donghyuck plops down on the floor, sitting so that he’s facing you. “You were talking like you were having a conversation with someone. Who was it?”
You shrug, trying not to dull his excitement. “I don’t know, just some guy.”
“Was he wearing a suit?” Renjun asks, standing behind Hyuck. He grimaces when you nod. “Y/n, we literally told you not to talk to anyone in a suit. We told you not to talk to anyone. It’s in the rules.”
You roll your eyes, knowing how serious he gets when it comes to stuff like this. “Relax, it’s fine. He seemed nice, and it’s not like it was anything real.”
Renjun still doesn’t look convinced, but Mark interrupts his paranoia by doing what he’s best- or worst, depending on who you ask- at, cracking jokes.
“Hey, was he eating deviled eggs?” He laughs at his own joke, and everyone else groans. “Hey, don’t get mad at me. His place was probably such a hellhole.” The bad mood dissolves into jokes and loud laughter for the rest of the night.
You leave the party- or gathering as Donghyuck had called it because it sounded more mysterious- when it starts storming. The rain drenches you and pretty much everyone else that’s sitting on the porch, leaving you scrambling for shelter. Luckily, Mark offers you a ride.
“Sleep tight, don’t let the bed bugs bite!” Mark hollars out the window of his truck, his words getting lost in the night as he speeds off. His truck hits a pothole and you can imagine him swearing as his head hits the roof. Giggling to yourself, you unlock your apartment and slip inside. It’s close to 2 in the morning, so you decide that if you’re already not going to get that much sleep, why not binge Shameless?
You only get through two episodes before your eyelids feel heavy, and you have to fight to keep them open. On screen, there’s a bar fight that you try to take interest in, but sleep quickly pulls you under.
“Welcome back, little bird.” The voice is all around you, but no matter how much you turn and search, no one’s to be found.
“Turn around, little bird, I am here.” Spinning abruptly, you come face to face with the man from earlier, Jaehyun. He gives you a chilling grin.
“So we meet again,” he starts, and his voice no longer sounds eerie or inauthentic. He sounds like, well, a normal man. “Tell me, what would you do if I were to kiss you?”
You swallow, tongue darting out to wet your lips on instinct. “Depends. Are you a good kisser?” You aim for coy, but you miss the mark and land closer to worried.
“You could say that.” He pulls you close with one hand on the back of your head, stopping right before your lips. “May I?”
You nod, and he pulls you in for a gentle, closed mouth kiss.
It’s like that touch ignites a fire in you, because before you know it, your arms are thrown around his neck, dragging him closer to deepen the kiss. You lick along his lower lip and he readily grants you access, a throaty groan leaving him when you suck on his tongue. Liquid heat courses through your veins when he nips at your lower lip, tongue flicking over it in apology. You moan, raw and needy. He likes that, if the chuckle and wicked grin is anything to go by. Picking you up so that your legs are wrapped around his waist, he walks over to a bed that definitely wasn’t there before.
He drops you on the bed, and then suddenly you’re both naked. Jaehyun leans over you, all lean muscles and golden skin. His cock hangs hard and flushed between his legs, and you have the urge to swallow him down. He groans, as if reading your mind, and then reaches to pump himself slowly, long fingers wrapped around the length. “Not now, little bird, not now. I have something else in mind.” With one gentle push to your shoulders, you’re lying flat on the bed, Jaehyun between your legs. His mouth hovers over your core, already wet and dripping despite not having been touched. He plays idly with the slick on your upper thigh, drawing random patterns into the flesh. His eyes are dark, and you could swear that they’re entirely black, no white visible. He peers curiously up at you from between your legs, watching your reaction as his fingers get closer and closer to where you want him. Your breathing picks up as arousal thrums through your body, center pulsing and aching for some sort of relief.
“May I have you?” His breath ghosts over your center when you speak, the sensation making you even needier.
You nod quickly. “Take it, fuck, you have all of me.” He grins, wasting no time in diving in. His tongue feels impossibly good, licking up your folds and circling over your clit. He leaves sloppy kisses along your core, one hand massaging your thigh and keeping you spread open. You cry out when his tongue pushes into you, his nose brushing your clit and sending sparks up your spine.
His tongue feels impossibly long, so good inside of you that you feel like you’re losing your mind. Your hips buck up desperately, riding his face to hell and back. One arm gets thrown over your stomach to keep you in place while two fingers from his free hand dip into your soaking core, curling into that spot immediately. Stars flash behind your eyes, one hand coming down to fist in Jaehyun’s hair. Your feet scramble frantically along his back, heels digging in in an effort to anchor yourself, toes curling at the sensations singing through you.
You feel your orgasm drawing closer, heat pooling in your center. You whimper brokenly as you try to chase after your high, grinding your hips along his tongue. He lets you, just holding his tongue flat out for you to ride.
You come like that, falling apart on his tongue, screams of his name falling from your lips. He works you through it, tongue gently licking along your folds, slurping up your arousal as if he hasn’t had a meal in weeks.
You lay there, boneless and whimpering weakly through the aftershocks until Jaehyun pulls away to kiss up your body. He licks into your mouth hotly, reminding you that he hasn’t come yet. You bat weakly at his chest, pushing him onto his back. “Your turn,”
He groans in appreciation at the view of you above him. “So perfect, little bird. I’m gonna have so much fun with your soul.”
This sentence freezes you in your spot. “What the fuck does that mean?”
Jaehyun meets your gaze, black eyes entrancing you. “That means, y/n, that I’m going to have your soul. You belong to me now, hmm?” One of his hands plays gently with a strand of your hair. “That’s what you agreed to earlier, no?”
“N-no.” You try backing away, but the inhuman voice from earlier is back, echoing everywhere, repeating his words over and over until you can’t take it anymore-
You wake with a gasp, hitting your head as you sit up. Your computer is still on your lap, episode fifteen playing. Fuck, you’ve only been asleep for forty five minutes. It’s not even three yet, and you don’t have to go to work until eight. Deciding there’s no way you’re falling back asleep, you get up and decide to bake.
Five hours later, your coworkers love you when you show up with containers of cinnamon rolls, five different types of cookies, and a coffee cake. Mark looks mildly worried.
“You okay? I haven’t seen you bake since high school.” You snap out of your thoughts and turn to face Mark. The look of concern on your best friend’s face is enough to make you feel guilty and you nod, forcing a smile onto your face.
“Yeah, I’m fine. Had a bad dream last night and couldn’t sleep, that’s all.” You respond, trying not to show how bothered you actually are.
“Wanna talk about it?” Mark leans forward over his desk, chin planted on his hand.
“No, it’s gonna sound dumb.” You whine, shaking your head. And it is dumb, even to you. You’re scared because you had a dream that some man ate you out and then told you he was going to take your soul?
“Well, you always sound dumb. Of course your dreams are gonna be dumb.” Mark laughs as you chuck a piece of cake at him, infectious laugh soothing you. You sigh.
Mark raises his eyebrows at you when you finish telling him your dream. “You’re scared because you had a wet dream? Damn, I’d be living in a nightmare if I was scared after every wet dream I’ve had.”
You kick him under the table. “Mark! It was really scary. He told me he was going to take my soul!”
Upon seeing that you’re actually freaked out, his face softens. “Look, y/n, you’ve got nothing to worry about. You probably just thought that he was hot, and your brain remembered his face and put it in a dream. I wouldn’t worry about it; what’s the worst he’s gonna do, haunt you?”
You give a shaky nod, agreeing. It’s not like something from your dreams could actually harm you. Mark reaches across the desk, taking your hand in his and giving a tight squeeze, warm brown eyes gazing at you openly. “And if something does happen, just remember that I’m your best friend. I’ll be here for you.”
“Thanks, Mark. Means a lot to me.”
He leans back in his seat. “Anytime, anyplace, anything. Triple A.”
You smile, raising an eyebrow. “Anything?”
His eyes go wide, taking in the glint in your eyes. “Within reason.”
“How about a sip of coffee?” You nod down at his cup, pasting a huge smile on your face.
“I did say within reason, so no.”
You huff. “I expected that.”
Although you don’t scare easily, it’s safe to say that you’re a bit unsettled tonight, especially after your nightmare last night. You find yourself jumping at every little noise, hand slamming the light switch on with your pulse racing every five minutes. This has been going on for an hour, and after a final sweep of your room reveals nothing, you decide that maybe a face mask will help you relax.
Your bathroom has two mirrors facing each other, which is normally a blessing when you do your hair, but tonight it does nothing but make you want to hide under your blankets.
Get a grip on yourself, you chastise, grabbing your phone and opening spotify. Maybe some music will help? You click on your Christmas playlist because what better way to cheer up than to think about your favorite holiday?
A mistake, really, because it seems that you’ve forgotten how creepy Santa is.
“He sees you when you’re sleeping, he knows when you’re awake,” Yikes. You stop that song in a hurry, feeling anything but comforted. No music then, noted.
You reach for your face wash, turning the sink on and waiting for the water to warm. You can’t help but glance in the mirror behind you every so often, paranoia getting the best of you. Man, you feel pathetic, worrying about monsters in your closet like you’re six and not twenty-six.
You wash your face quickly, hoping that your fears will wash away as well. No such luck.
You swear you see something move behind you after you dry your face off, but there’s nothing there. Shaking it off, you reach for your face mask, taking your time painting your face with the green clay.
It’s after your face is coated that you spot someone in the glass behind you. You scream, whipping around to come face to face with a man. Not just any man- Jaehyun.
Your heart thunders in your chest, eyes widening in fear. He seems to be in the mirror, copying your petrified expression mockingly.
“Hello, little bird.” He purrs, smirking lightly.
“Are you- are you in my mirror?” You’re in disbelief, mind struggling to comprehend this. First you spot him while in a weird trance, then in a dream, and now in your mirror? Maybe you’re having a quarter life crisis.
“No, I am not. Mirrors are just gateways to alternate dimensions. I’m merely using the mirror to visit you.” He says this like it’s common knowledge. It feels like your throat is made of sandpaper with how hard it is to choke out your words. “O-okay. I’m just gonna- yeah.”
You grab your phone from the counter and bolt, fumbling for your keys before jumping into your car and speeding off in the direction of Mark’s house. You call him, fingers fumbling on the screen. He goes to voicemail the first time, and your heart drops. “No, no, no,” you whisper frantically, calling again. He does pick up this time.
“Y/n? It’s the middle of the night.” His voice sounds gruff, and you feel guilty for waking him up. One glance in your rear view mirror reveals that Jaehyun is joining you on this ride, and you scream, car swerving violently to one side before you straighten it out.
“Where are we going, little bird?”
“Y/n? Are you okay?” Mark’s voice has lost its sleepy edge, taking on a concerned tone. He says your name again, more frantic.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” Your tires squeal as you make a turn, now only two blocks away. “Can I- can I come over? I really need to be with someone right now.”
“Of course, you know you’re always welcome. The door’s unlocked.”
You hang up, willing the tears in your eyes to not spill over. Finally arriving, you slam on the breaks and haphazardly pull next to a curb, yanking the key out of the ignition and sprinting to Mark’s house.
You lock the door behind you when you step inside, testing the handle as if a door could stop a mirror traveling demon or whatever the fuck Jaehyun was from coming inside. “Mirrors,” you mumble, reaching the stairs.
“Y/n? What’s-” Mark stands at the top of the stairs, one hand rubbing at his eyes. You cut him off, flying up the stairs.
“Mirrors, fuck. Mark, we need to cover the mirrors!” You breeze by his shocked figure, not noticing the way he turns to stare at you incredulously.
“What, why? Y/n, are you crazy?”
Ignoring him, you throw a towel over the mirror in his bathroom, ripping open a pack of bandaids to use as adhesive.
You throw another towel over the mirror in his bedroom, collapsing on his bed when you’re done and finally allowing yourself to sob.
“Y/n, hey, what’s wrong? Talk to me.” Mark, as gentle and caring as ever, comes over to sit next to you, one hand combing through your hair.
“I- don’t laugh at me.” You stare him straight in the eye, pleading with him. You know you’re going to sound crazy, but you’re praying that your best friend listens to you. He nods, urging you to go on.
“That- that man I saw in my dream and during whatever fucked up game Hyuck had us play? He was in my fucking mirror, Mark. I- the whole night, I had this feeling that I was being watched, and then I went into my bathroom and he was just there, and-” You’re hyperventilating at this point, fighting for every breath, tears clouding your vision. “He was in my car, in the rear view mirror-” Mark pulls you closer, enveloping you in his arms and allowing you to sob loudly into his chest. You cry for a few minutes, until you’re finally able to pull yourself together.
“Shh, it’s okay. You’ve had a rough week, I know. It’s okay, everything’s going to be okay.”
He wipes a tear away from your check, patting you lightly. “Why don’t you go wash this off, okay? We can watch a movie after.” He offers, and until that point, you’d forgotten you were wearing a face mask. You grimace at the green imprint on his black shirt, but he just chuckles. “I’ll go grab you some water in the meantime.”
Nodding, you garner up the energy to walk to his bathroom. It’s fine, the mirror’s covered, he can’t hurt you. You close the door just in case, wanting an extra level of protection
You rinse your face with cold water, hoping that it will clear your mind. You give your face a couple more splashes before drying off with a towel.
“You missed a spot on your forehead.” You freeze before looking around wildly. There’s no one around, which can only mean that Jaehyun can still see you. Swallowing, you start the water again, rubbing at your forehead.
“And your left cheek.” You rub at the skin, being way too harsh but you excuse it considering your situation. “No, your other left. My left.”
“Jesus,” You growl in annoyance, reaching up to rip the towel down. Sure enough, there’s a splotch of green on your cheek. Jaehyun’s nowhere to be found. Maybe I am losing my mind.
You finish rinsing the mask off, finding some face lotion buried in Mark’s drawer, screaming bloody murder when Jaehyun appears in the mirror again. “Looking for me?”
“No! Leave me alone!” You cry, head spinning. Jaehyun fakes a pout, holding a hand over his heart in mock hurt. Do demons even have hearts?
“Ouch, little bird. You don’t want to finish what we started the other night? When I had you moaning so pretty, so wet for me. I’m sure your pussy would take me so well, hmm?” Your heart rate kicks up again, but for a different reason this time. You almost moan, thinking about the dream.
Because he was right, you had been so wet. The want comes back full forces, slamming into you like a truck. You remember how needy you were, wanting to suck his cock so bad, wanting him to fuck you like there’s no tomorrow. All fear that you previously had is slowly disappearing, fading into lust.
The demon smiles knowingly. “Ah, little bird, so you do remember. Remember how you promised me that you’re mine?”
You nod, eyes glazing over. You’re wet, panties starting to stick to your throbbing core uncomfortably.
“Mmmh, I bet you’re already dripping for me. Just waiting for me to come out and fill you up.”
Hearing your name leave his lips sends a wave of arousal crashing through you so strong that your knees buckle, grabbing onto the counter for support. He chuckles, but whatever he’s about to say is cut off by Mark.
“What were you say-” Your best friend trails off, eyes wide as he observes the scene. You snap out of your haze at the interruption. His mouth parts in shock. “You really weren’t kidding, shit.” He laughs humorlessly.
Then, quick as lightning, he rears back and punches the mirror. You scream in surprise at the crack, shards falling to the floor.
You and Mark both stare at the broken shards of glass on the ground, gleaming under the lights. “Mark,” You start, trailing off once you realize you have nothing to say. He seems to understand, walking forward until he’s close enough to pull you into a hug. You feel tears start to slide down your cheeks, dampening the cotton of your best friends shirt. You hug him closer, burying your face into his broad chest. He wraps himself around you, and you let yourself be lulled into the sense of security that his larger frame brings you. A sense of security that vanishes once you hear a low chuckle that definitely does not belong to Mark.
You both scream, leaping backwards and away from the noise. Jaehyun stands there, just in front of the door, with a shit eating grin on his face. You cower behind Mark, who is wrapping a protective arm around you while simultaneously trying to hide behind you.
“I really must thank you for finally setting me free. Normally I have to wait for some asshole with a ouija board, but then there’s just so many other demons that I have to compete with. So I just stick to the dream world-” He pauses to wink at you for emphasis “-but this is so much more fun.” His eyes are black, and you can’t tell where he’s looking. Swallowing, you clutch onto Mark’s arm for dear life.
The demon seems to regard the two of you for a moment, before his amusement seems to grow. He begins to move forward.
“Ah, Mark Lee. Lovely name for a stupid boy. Didn’t you know breaking a mirror is bad luck?” By this point, you and Mark are flattened against the wall, while Jaehyun stands less than a foot away from the two of you. There’s nowhere to run. This is it, you think, this is how I die.
Jaehyun chuckles, turning to you. You lower your gaze to the ground; it hurts to make eye contact with him. “No, little bird. This isn’t how you die, don’t worry.”
Then he’s backing away from the two of you, motioning to follow him. The logical part of your brain is screaming not to, but you find yourself drawn to him, legs carrying you after him without your consent, Mark clutching your arm tightly as he walks next to you.
Jaehyun seems to know the layout of the house, leading you straight into Mark’s bedroom. The demon grabs a chair from the desk and spins it around, straddling it so that he’s facing the bed.
He motions lazily. “Go on now, have a seat. Get comfortable.”
You find yourself sitting down on the edge of the bed, following his words like marching orders. Mark sits about half a foot away from you. Jaehyun shakes his head. “No, no, no. That won’t do. I said to get comfortable, did I not?” He raises an eyebrow as if daring you to argue with him. “Go lay down at the head board.”
You crawl to the head of the bed, settling so that you’re on your side, facing the demon. Mark follows suit, pulling you close to him so that you’re spooning. Jaehyun lets out a pleased hum. “Much better. Aren’t you much more comfortable now?” Nodding, you realize that you actually are more comfortable. It’s not just the change of position, but the energy in the room as well. The demon is no longer giving off a threatening aura. It’s more relaxed, maybe even happy? He certainly looks more relaxed, probably as happy as a demon can get, if not a little smug.
Your body is pulsing with energy, and it takes you a moment to place what you’re feeling. The earlier need to run that you had felt has been replaced with another need, albeit further down. Your thighs clench as another surge of heat pulses through your core, and your face warms at the realization. Why now, of all times, are you horny?
Jaehyun’s grin broadens as he seems to sense your dilemma. “Oh, little bird, if only you knew. Tell me, what type of demon do you think I am?” He watches you curiously, black eyes staring into your soul.
You try to tilt your head towards Mark, but the position’s too awkward and you only catch a glimpse of the side of his face. He looks a bit flushed from what you can see, teeth digging into his plush bottom lip, teeth that you could easily replace with your own- you blink, dazedly. What the fuck? Sexual thoughts about your best friend? That’s a new one. Even if you’ve noticed that he’s hot, you’d never thought about him sexually. Now, though, you can feel the hardness of his dick against your ass, and you can’t help but think about how good he could fuck you.
“Incubus,” You finally manage, blinking rapidly to clear the haze of your vision. Jaehyun grins, looking genuinely surprised that you’d gotten it right.
“Good girl. Make a little sense now?” You nod, fighting a moan as Mark starts to rock against you, slowly, as if he’s unconsciously doing it. Jaehyun notices.
“How about you, Mark? You doing alright over there?”
Your friend, your best friend, buries his face in your neck and groans, deep and delicious. It sends another surge of heat through your body, the growing need between your legs pulsing pathetically. “What are you doing to us?” The words are growled behind you, vibrating against the skin where his lips are pressed.
“Oh no, Mark, I’m not doing anything to you. The only thing I can do to you is make you realize your desires. Your deepest, darkest fantasies? I make that happen. Finally being able to fuck the girl you’ve been in love with for years? I make that happen.” The words take a minute to register with you, but you stiffen when the meaning hits you. Mark Lee, in love with you? An unlikely story, bordering impossible.
The demon chuckles at your inner turmoil, rolling his eyes at how dumb humans can be. “You too, y/n. You love Mark, even if you won’t admit it. You let the idea that he was too good for you scare you away from him. Do you not remember how often you thought of him, late at night after first meeting him?”
You groan in protest, not because it’s not true, but because you do remember. It had been so long ago. When you hadn’t known Mark, had only known of him. You pull away from Mark, awkwardly pushing him to lay flat against the pillows while you clamber on top of him.
“Mark, is it true? Do you love me?” You hold his face between your hands, staring into his eyes. He meets your gaze, pupils blown and eyes half lidded. He nods as best he can.
“So, so much.” Mark’s voice comes out raspy, matching his flushed skin. You lean down to kiss him, uncaring of the other presence in the room. Mark moans when your lips make contact, hands pulling you to straddle him. Your eyelids flutter at the feeling of his clothed cock against your center, rocking your hips to try to ease the throb of your core. His hands fly to your ass, pulling and kneading at the flesh as he urges you into a harsher pace.
The kiss is rougher, needier now, open mouthed and panting. Mark’s got his tongue tangled with yours, sucking in such a way that sends waves of heat through you. You want him in you, any part of him really.
Jaehyun seems to agree, speaking up from right next to you. You jump, having forgotten he was there although he’s the reason you’re like this in the first place.
“Let’s get the show on the road. As much as I’m enjoying this, I think we’d all enjoy something else a little more.” The demon reaches for the hem of your shirt and you nod, raising your arms above your head to let him pull the garment off. Mark groans at the newly revealed skin, hands going to cup your breasts through the fabric of your bra. “Fuck,” He whines, staring in awe at your chest. He doesn’t waste time before leaning up to kiss along your cleavage, pulling the bra down to expose your breasts. Another set of hands unclasp the bra before traveling down your torso to rub circles into your hip bones, sliding your sleeping shorts and panties off at the same time. Jaehyun throws the shorts somewhere off the bed. He keeps the panties, a pleased sigh leaving him as he appreciates the ruined fabric.
“Fuck, little bird. You’re really enjoying this,” He comments, as if he isn’t a fucking lust demon that can sense these kinds of things. You don’t voice your thoughts, because Mark chooses this moment to suck a nipple into his mouth, nibbling and sucking on the sensitive skin so that all you can do is moan. “You’ve even ruined your panties. They’re soaked.”
He hands the strip of lace to Mark, who lets out a throaty groan at the sight. “You’re not getting these back.” He informs you, slipping the garment into his bedside drawer. You ignore him, instead tugging insistently at his shirt. He takes pity on you, grabbing the collar and yanking the baggy tee over his head.
You let your hands slide down his chest in admiration, feeling the hard lines of his muscles. You lick your lips at how broad his shoulders are, how strong he looks. Jaehyun doesn’t give you much time to enjoy the view, gliding two fingers along your slit before circling around your little nub. A cry of pleasure leaves you to mindlessly press your face into Mark’s collarbone, nipping and sucking the flesh until you’re sure you’ve left a bruise.
Jaehyun slips the two fingers into your aching core, curling and dragging them so well along your walls. Sparks of electricity flow through your veins, heat pooling in your center.
Mark groans from below you. Looking down, you see that you’ve unconsciously dug your nails into his hard chest in an effort to ground yourself. You remove your hands, only to spot little red half crescents littered over his skin. You rub your palms over the marks as if to soothe them, but it seems that the man wasn’t groaning from pain.
“Y/n” He sounds so fucked out, voice hoarse and raw even though hardly anything has happened yet. “You look so good like this, so perfect for me.” He brings one large hand up to cup your cheek, thumb delicately stroking over your cheekbone before moving down to trace your lower lip. You part your lips, letting him slide in before sucking around the digit, tongue curling around it as if it were his cock. His eyes darken a fraction, tongue coming out to wet his lips, swollen and kiss bitten.
You moan around the digit as Jaehyun adds a third finger, stretching your walls so pleasantly that you can’t help but buck your hips back for more. A whine forces its way out of your throat as the demon pulls his fingers out of you, leaving an empty ache between your thighs.
“Don’t you think it would be more fun if she was sucking on something a bit bigger than your finger, Mark?” The voice startles you, breath tickling your ear as he speaks. The man under you nods, swallowing thickly. Your eyes are drawn to the way his Adam’s apple bobs with the movement, and a gush of wetness pulses down below. Your thighs are probably covered in your arousal at this point.
You scoot down his body, trailing kisses and bites down his toned stomach. You take your time unzipping his pants, sucking a mark into the soft skin below his navel. He’s hard as a rock, and you moan in appreciation at the sheer size of him once you shimmy his jeans down his thighs.
“No underwear?” You ask, mouth curling up in a teasing smirk. He huffs out a laugh, propping himself up on his elbows so that he can watch. “No, ‘s too restricting.”
You lazily pump his dick, thumb flicking over the tip once or twice. You plan to tease him more, but then Jaehyun’s pushing your head down and you have no choice but to open your mouth wide, innocent eyes peeking up at Mark as you take his cock in your mouth. He’s so big that you can’t take him in all the way, keeping one hand curled around his cock to stroke what your mouth can’t reach. You let it get sloppy, using your spit to ease the glide until you’ve got a pleasant rhythm going. Mark replaces Jaehyun’s hands with his own, gathering strands of your hair in his palms and using that grip to control your pace. “F-fuck,” He lets out a shaky exhale, letting his head fall back against the pillows once he’s satisfied with the pace.
Jaehyun slaps your ass, a loud smack sounding throughout the room. You moan, pitching forward onto Mark’s cock and gagging as he hits the back of your throat. A strangled cry leaves the man above you, his hips thrusting even further into the tight, wet heat of your mouth.
The demon kneads your stinging flesh before using his grip on you to pull your hips up. “Good girl,” You keen under his praises, sticking your ass up even higher. The warm, wet pressure against your center has you faltering, moaning almost violently around Mark’s cock. He doesn’t seem to be having any complaints, the vibrations forcing a moan of his own out.
Your eyes roll up into your head as Jaehyun wraps his lips around your clit, sucking harshly. You’re sure you’d be screaming by now if Mark’s cock wasn’t halfway down your throat. You’ve given up sucking him off by this point, content to let the man fuck your mouth while Jaehyun sucks your fucking soul out from between your legs. It feels so good, not used to being the center of even one man’s focus, let alone two.
Mark eases you off of his cock after you accidentally bite him, using your spit to ease the slide as he lazily fucks up into his loose fist. You rest your head on his thigh, alternating between moaning wantonly and mouthing messily against the skin as you feel your orgasm approach.
Jaehyun pulls away at the last second, and you whine loudly as your orgasm is cut off. The feeling of frustration leaves you close to tears, and you jiggle your ass in hopes that it will regain his attention. It does momentarily, as Jaehyun lands a harsh smack on the flesh, but he pulls away again.
“Mark,” The man in question looks up, hand freezing on his dick as if waiting for Jaehyun’s orders. And fuck, what a sight that would be: your normally brash and confident friend being so pliant and submissive to a near stranger… You blink out of it, feeling mildly ashamed even in your current state. Luckily, Jaehyun interrupts your thoughts. “I’m feeling generous today, so I’ll let you go first. You’ve been waiting long enough for this, anyway.”
Mark nods eagerly, pulling you into a desperate kiss. You paw at every inch of skin you can reach, searching for a release from the ache inside of you. Your wish is granted when he hooks two fingers in your soaking cunt, groaning at how wet you are. He scissors you open quickly, hissing at how tight you feel.
“Ready, angel? Want my cock?” The pet name has you moaning, though it draws a low chuckle from Jaehyun, who’s watching from his position next to Mark.
“Hurry up, already. Need you in me, ‘ve waited so long.”
Mark lights up at this, smile stretching his features. He looks so breathtaking in this moment, skin glowing and flushed, hair mussed up, eyes blown wide and half lidded.
“I’m yours,” He breathes, leaning up for one last kiss. His hands slide down to your hips, pulling you forward so that you’re hovering above his thick cock. “Ride me baby.”
“I’d love to.” Reaching one hand down to position him at your entrance, you start to lower yourself down. Of course, Jaehyun chooses this exact moment to stop you. He truly is the spawn of Satan.
“Little bird, hold on just a second. I found something of interest in the back of Markie’s brain.” You cringe as he mocks your earlier nickname for the man. “What’s this I’m seeing, Mark? You like it up the ass?” His tone is teasing, but Mark groans in embarrassment. His face has gone an alarming shade of red by this point. “N-no,” He tries to deny, sputtering excuses but Jaehyun cuts him off with a press of a finger to his lips. “Oh, Mark, don’t get shy on me now. It’s a perfectly fine thing to like. Little bird, you’ll get your turn in a minute. You,” He snaps his fingers at Mark. “Come here. Kneel up, just like that. Perfect.” He appraises Mark’s ass for a moment, hands moulding the flesh before slipping a finger in. Mark’s eyebrows furrow, and you shoot up in alarm. “Doesn’t he need lube?”
Jaehyun looks at you, surprised that you care, before chuckling. “I can produce lube. Perks of being a lust demon.” Winking at you, he returns his focus to Mark. You can’t see what he’s doing, but the pure pleasure present on your best friends face has you clenching your thighs together, waves of need crashing through you. If you thought he looked good before, he looks absolutely gone now. Breathless groans are leaving him now, eyelids fighting to stay open as he sinks down on the others fingers. You watch him, mesmerized, before shuffling over to him.
“How close are you?”
He forces his gaze down to you. “Kind of- nngh- close, w-why?”
Wrapping a hand around his base lightly, you start stroking. “Will you come if I blow you?”
He moans, a punched out sound that takes you by surprise. “Fuck, yes, I’ll definitely come if you blow me.” You pout in disappointment. Upon seeing your crestfallen expression, he continues. “Maybe we c-can- oh, yes- figure something out. Jaehyun,” He turns his head back behind him, struggling to get the words out between moans. “Can I eat y/n out?”
There’s just something so hot about Mark asking for permission from someone else that you can’t help the whimper that escapes you. Jaehyun must nod, because then you’re being laid back, Mark settling between your thighs. He’s sucking sweet kisses into your core almost immediately, pulling your legs over his shoulders to give him better access. You’re letting out sharp cries of pleasure the whole time, eyes fighting the urge to roll back in your head in favor of watching Mark between your legs. A particularly well placed flick of his tongue has your hips rolling against his face, grasping the sheets in your hand as your mind blanks. The pleasure climbing through your system is insane, threatening to burn you from the inside out.
It only gets better once Mark starts moaning, his sinful mouth sending sweet vibrations traveling up your core. You manage to catch sight of Jaehyun behind him, kissing wetly along his shoulders and neck, features curving into a smirk once he notices you watching him.
“Little bird likes this, hmm? Like watching another man pleasure your boyfriend while he pleases you?” You hum, unable to tear yourself away from his gaze, unable to even think, letting his boyfriend comment slide. Whereas before it hurt to look directly into his eyes, you now find yourself getting lost in his dark orbs. It’s like a drug, your pleasure being amplified by the man, demon, whatever in front of you.
You finally break eye contact, head falling back against the mattress as Mark draws you closer and closer to your peak. Burying one hand in his hair, you use the leverage to grind your core against his face, chasing your sweet release. “C-close, Mark, please-” You don’t know what you’re begging for at this point. It’s too much but not enough at the same time. Jaehyun saves you from having to decide by cruelly ripping your orgasm away from you, again, dragging Mark’s face away from your pussy.
A few tears slip down your face at this point, frustration reaching its peak. Jaehyun wipes the tears away, laughing lowly. “Don’t worry, you’ll get what you desire soon.”
He must pull out of Mark, because your friend whimpers before seeming to realize what he just did and clears his throat uncomfortably.
“Mark, would you like to fuck our little bird now?” Mark nods, tongue flicking out to wet dry lips.
Jaehyun smirks. “Good. On your back. Y/n, ride him.” You don’t have to be told twice. You scramble onto your knees, wasting no time in straddling Mark before dropping yourself down on him. You both moan in satisfaction, you at finally being filled and Mark at your tightness. You have to brace both hands on his chest, almost collapsing at the overwhelming relief you feel. Beyond the burn of the stretch, his cock filling you up so nicely, there’s a sweet pleasure, a satisfaction.
You don’t wait very long to adjust, grinding your hips in smooth circles before lifting yourself off of him and dropping yourself back down. You quickly start a rhythm of you bouncing on his cock, eyes rolling at how fucking big he feels in you.
Mark’s hands are locked in a vice grip on your ass, fingers digging into the supple flesh and using his grip to urge you into a faster pace.
Jaehyun decides to join, coming up behind you to kiss at your neck, one hand reaching up to your mouth. “Suck,” He commands, slipping two fingers past your willing lips. You do, hollowing your cheeks and slurping around the digits, wishing that it was his dick. He hums behind you, bringing the wet digits down to your entrance, finding your clit with ease and rubbing fast circles into the little nub. You moan even louder now, feeling yourself speed towards your climax. You’ve been on edge for too long, you can’t hold on anymore.
“You close, little bird? Going to come on Mark’s cock? Gonna make him fill you up, pound into that dirty cunt?” His words get to you, your head falling back against his shoulder once more.
“Yes, yes! Oh, please, please-” He cuts off your mindless rambling by pulling you in for a kiss, one that you melt into. This is the first time he’s kissed you, and you’re quite upset that you hadn’t kissed him earlier. It’s a hot kiss, lots of tongue and teeth. It heightens your pleasure immensely, and you can’t stop kissing him. You suck on his tongue filthily, and oh, he must like that if the resulting groan is anything to go by. Even when he goes to pull away, you won’t let him, one hand fisting in his hair to keep him close. He seems to be speeding up your release, if that were even possible. Your mind feels hazier now, every sensation heightened, core screaming for release. You feel your orgasm twisting painfully at your insides, pulsing before finally exploding. The intensity of it rips a scream out of your throat, nails scratching across Mark’s chest as Jaehyun licks even deeper into your mouth, drinking up the noises you make.
When you come down, Mark is still thrusting desperately up into you, though he stops at the demons command. “From behind,” You hear Jaehyun say, but everything’s hazy at this point. Your mind is still fuzzy from your orgasm, and it’s like watching through a screen. Like you’re high, though you hadn’t had anything the whole day.
Mark manhandles you into position, hands and knees with your ass raised high in the air. He leaves one gentle kiss on your shoulder blade before relentlessly pounding into you, cock hitting even deeper in this position. Jaehyun kneels in front of you, pulling your face in towards his cock. You moan around him as he slips inside, mouth not quite burning at the stretch like Mark, though the demon still has you gagging. His cock has the same effect on you as his kisses did, and you feel addicted. You’re slurping and sucking and moaning around him, not wanting the intense pleasure to stop. You barely hear the kissing above you, taking far too long to register that Jaehyun has pulled Mark into a messy kiss above you. The image has you moaning even more wantonly, ass pushing back against Mark.
The kiss seems to have a similar effect on the man, because then he’s slamming into you at an even more relentless rate, moans higher and more frequent before he’s coming with a shout, finally filling you up. Your core pulses again at the feeling, and you suck at Jaehyun’s dick with renewed vigor. His hands fist in your hair, keeping you still so that he can fuck your mouth as hard as he wants. You relish in the feeling of your throat being fucked raw, spit dripping out of your mouth and down his cock. He lets out a deep groan, hips slamming deep one last time as he finishes. His cum seems to ignite a fire within you, because you’re coming almost simultaneously with him, despite not even being touched.
You collapse afterwards, dragging yourself to Mark and letting him drape himself over you. You let yourself drift off to sleep, sated and still riding the high.
The demon kisses each of you one last time, drinking in the last remaining parts of your soul, watching as the two humans take their last breaths. “Thanks for the meal, lovelies.” He chuckles, petting your head almost affectionately before walking out into the night sky, not sparing a single glance back.

➔Pairing: Idol!Jaemin x Reader (Female) ➔Other Members/ Characters: -.- ➔Genre: Smut ➔Warnings: Oral (F+M) + Penetration (F) ➔Word count: 2,473
➔Summary: Developing a crush on The Na Jaemin was never in the plan, but when his female co-host ends up late to the set, you step in, in more ways than one.
Anon Requested: Hello - may I request a Dreamie idolverse (idol!reader x your pick, based on who you think fits the best) where they have to interact on camera and there’s a huge tension and buildup, and then when they have a moment alone after, they can’t keep their hands off each other? Thank you! 😊
Tumblr media
“You! Girl!” someone called.
Startled, you looked around for the voice to see a very sour looking man gesturing for you to come forward. Clipboard in hand, and an earpiece dangling from his ear, he very impatiently pointed at a spot next to the male co-host.
Na Jaemin looked up from the script in his hand. He looked at you first, how you stood there rooted to the spot in fear. Next, he looked at the man who was seconds away from getting angry with you, and he clapped him on the back.
“Sir,” he said. “There is plenty of time. I'm okay with waiting.”
The man seemed to settle down a bit. When he looked at you a second time, he asked you nicely to stand next to Jaemin, but his eyes made it clear that you better listen.
“To check the lighting,” he added gruffly before disappearing and leaving you and Jaemin alone.
The female co-host was late. Since they needed someone to stand in for her, in order for them to adjust the lighting correctly, and to see how the person next to Jaemin would appear on camera, you were the girl up for the job. Didn’t matter that all you were was a lowly assistant. Didn’t matter that Jaemin was the most handsome man you had ever seen, or that being in close proximity with him meant having to finally address the crush you had on him.
“These lights are hot.” Jaemin said. “After this, you should get into some cool air.”
Oh My God, he is talking to me. A real idol...talking to ME, you thought.
You moved your head a little to the right to show that you were listening. He was right. The lights were very hot, and you could feel yourself sweating underneath the thick sweater you wore. You were going to respond to him, gathering up the courage to do so, but a voice over the loudspeaker announced that the female co-host wouldn’t be there for another half hour.
You looked over at Jaemin. His professionalism allowed him to smile gracefully at the inconvenience. He tucked his script underneath his arm and looked towards the camera. You couldn’t stop staring at him, and you didn’t stop until someone snapped at you to look at the camera, too.
“People here aren’t very nice.” you found yourself saying.
“Not always.” he said.
You could feel him staring at you, but you didn’t dare look at him. The people behind the camera had their eyes on you. You were too scared to act up. It wasn’t until Jaemin touched his fingertips to the inside of your palm that you looked over at him.
“Have you been working here for a long time?” he asked. “I think I remember seeing you a few weeks ago.”
“That was me.” you said, trying your best to forget the time you tripped right in front of him and nearly fell flat on your face. If it wasn’t for the fact that everyone was watching and your pride forced you to catch yourself, you would have embarrassed yourself completely in front of The Na Jaemin.
Your little work crushes never lasted long, but there hadn’t been many people that affected you quite like Jaemin did. He was always so present with the people around him, so jovial and warm. He was kind to the staff. He even paid for the coffee everyone drank one day, the bill too enormous for someone with a job like yours. Sure, he was handsome and everything was perfect, and it was cool that he was an idol, but there was something about him that felt normal to you. Romanticizing him couldn't stop that feeling every time you set your eyes on him.
“Have you fixed your feet since then?” he asked, a smile so radiant and as blinding as the overhead lights on his face.
“Yes.” you said.
Someone else shouted for you to look back at the camera, so you did. Then, someone else thrust a script into your hands, the female co-hosts parts highlighted in yellow.
A rushed voice said, “ Read out all of her parts. We’re not on live, it’s just a run-through.”
While there was no patience for you, or consideration for the job you were meant to be doing, there was a certain importance placed on you when the camera light flickered on and all eyes in the room were on you. There was complete silence. Jaemin smiled beside you, his facial expression urging confidence within you.
So, you began to speak her parts. You read them carefully, before turning to pause for Jaemins parts. Your heart was hammering in your chest, but being beside his calmness made you feel a little more at ease.
Jaemin really was so good at his side job. He spoke with a smooth voice, one that knew exactly how to keep people listening. It was too easy to get lost in his velvety voice, in his handsome face, or in the way he made everyone feel included.
When it was time to cut to the female co-host's parts, Jaemin folded his hands in front of him and turned to you, like what you said was the most interesting piece of information in the room. You began to believe in yourself a little more, delivering the lines like your life depended on them.
You both went back and forth for the whole script, your words and timing running through so perfectly that it felt so natural to you. You began to feel like you were the co-host, not the woman running late. You didn’t know if it was your imagination or not, but the chemistry between you and Jaemin was obvious.
“Cut!” a voice yelled. “That was great. I think we have everything set up. Thank you everyone."
People moved all around the room. The stillness in the air when the camera went on vanished in a pinch. Voices erupted everywhere, and the movement of sound made your head hurt. Someone removed the script from your hands. Someone else came up and told you that you did a good job.
“You did really well.” Jaemin agreed, squatting down so a make-up artist could powder his face. “You’re a natural.”
“Are you sure?” I asked. “I felt like I stuttered too much.”
“You were perfect.” he winked.
The make-up artist looked at you when Jaemin couldn’t keep his eyes from you. You weren’t paying her any attention, even though her gaze could slice you in half.
“Thank you.” you said, resisting the urge to giggle.
When the make-up artist was finished, Jaemin brought himself back up to full height. You couldn’t remember him being that tall. You felt intoxicated by him. You were drawn in so deeply that you didn’t notice the sour man from earlier asking you why you weren’t getting back to your job.
“Right.” you said. “Sorry.”
Jaemin extended his hand for you to shake. His eyes never left yours. You took his hand and held it, letting him control the way your hands moved together.
“It was nice working with you,” he said.
“Yeah, me too.” you said. “Maybe I’ll see you around.”
You let go of his hand and turned to walk away, mentally kicking yourself that you had said that. Before you could pick up your pace, Jaemins voice stopped you in your tracks.
“If you turned around, you could see me right now.”
Tumblr media
You found yourself in his arms, leaning against the wall with your mouth on his, and your hands pulling out the shirt tucked into his pants. Jaemin watched you breathlessly, a dangerous smirk on his lips, and his eyes waiting for you to look up into his.
You couldn’t remember following him back into his dressing room, his hand gently pulling you from behind. You looked at the floor the whole time, too scared to meet the eyes of women you felt were more deserving of his attention. He talked to people as he passed, using his politeness to stall the crew a little while longer. His confidence was hard to turn down, even for you.
You wanted to ask yourself what you were doing. Were you crazy? Were you so blinded by him that you would risk everything? And were you really so horny for him that you couldn’t stop touching him??
Jaemin pulled away from you, his clothes haphazardly falling from his body, the half-undressed look too sexy on him to resist. Your lips were swollen and -no doubt- red from his kisses, the soreness resuming when he wasn’t kissing them, as if the act of kissing him was a salve. He plopped on the couch and patted his lap. You came over and sat on him, straddling his lap and using your hand to push his head against the back of the couch so you could kiss him deeply. He tasted irresistible, forbidden.
You tore off your sweater, your skin sticky. Jaemin's hands snaked up your sides, his thumbs moving underneath your bra. He leaned up to kiss you between your cleavage, his hot breath creating moisture on your skin. He pushed the bra up, freeing your breasts, his mouth finding them without issue. You lean back and let him devour you, knowing that if you fall this time, he will catch you.
There was a knock at the door, which Jaemin ignored, with a sigh, the first time. He had removed your bra and watched it dangle on his finger before it hit the floor. He was touching your breasts tenderly, his hands warming up your skin. When the second knock came, you could feel him tense underneath you.
“Who is it? Jaemin asked. You could feel the emotion trapped in his body, the irritation ready to bubble out. Jaemin, if anything, was a great actor. He kept his voice even and cool.
You didn’t know what you were thinking, but you slid from his lap and sat between his legs. You wanted to ease the tension for him. There was a murmur from behind the door, but you couldn’t hear the voice anymore. You unzipped his pants, your earlier mission on your mind. After seeing Jaemin’s cock in the flesh, his still-soft length making its way into your mouth, nothing else mattered at all.
Soon enough, the person on the other side of the locked door didn’t matter to Jaemin. He watched you go at his cock, licking and stroking him like it was your life's purpose. You cared about little else but having him sit in your mouth, his hardness missing the graze of your teeth. You wanted him to come, but he was so frantic with his movements, trying to stave off the orgasm for as long as possible. Before he could finish, he took your chin in his hand softly and brought your mouth up to his for a kiss. It was a distraction, and it worked.
You pushed him back against the couch and lifted up his shirt. He was amused by how eager you were to please him. He helped you remove his shirt, before continuing to watch your mouth lick and suck his body, leaving little bruises all over. Any time you would reach down to stroke his cock or give him another soft lick you knew would drive him wild, Jaemin would hold your hand to get you to stop.
“Not yet.” was all he said.
Jaemin had insisted that you remove all of your clothes. You tore them off like they were an inconvenience. With you naked, he managed to pull you all the way up the couch, until you were hovering over his face, your legs wobbling with fear. Your pussy lowering down onto Jaemin’s face and his hands against your back for support, you felt his tongue pushing your lips aside. The warmth made you suck in your breath and brace your palms against the wall, before you felt the pleasure of his tongue working its way to your clit. He tasted you everywhere, licking and sucking, pulling you down harder against him so that you were nearly suffocating him, eating you out until your legs were shaking so bad that he had to set you down again.
You wanted to make him come like he had made you come, but Jaemin had other plans. He laid you on the couch. He kissed your body, loving on it until you were begging him to be inside of you. He avoided your pussy, and you wondered if it was on purpose, if he wasn’t letting you come a second time. His mouth was on your inner thigh, the unshaved little hairs you could barely see on his face tickling your skin. He was rough with his teeth, even rougher with the way his fingers prodded and poked you. You were so wet, so ready, that you knew if he even breathed in that direction, you would come again.
“We don’t need these.” Jaemin said, ridding himself of his own pants and underwear.
It was chilly in the dressing room, but Jaemin using his body to cover you made you feel hot. His weight made the scene all too real, and you were suddenly transported out of your horny haze and back to where you were and to whom you were with
“Oh my god.” you said, looking up at him.
You could feel his hard cock on the inside of your leg. He kissed your neck. He shifted your leg so that he could get more comfortable between them.
“I haven't done anything yet.” he said quietly.
“This is going to get me fired.” you grinned from ear-to-ear
Jaemin grinned back, his handsome face making you fall silent. He had his hand on his cock and was using it to guide himself inside of you. Feeling all of him there was well worth the way you were treated by other people during the day. Jaemin’s cock erased everything from your mind, his thrusting making you feel a little bit smug that it was you and not anyone else.
With each thrust, you spoke. “Please. Don’t. Stop. I. Don’t. Care. If. Anyone. Walks. In.”
“You want it, you got it.” he said, fucking you good.
Jaemin pushed you further up the couch, until you were almost in a sitting position, your body against the arm rest. He moved up with you on his knees, holding you by your waist and using his muscles to bring your body down onto his cock. During the fun, he managed to grab fistfuls of your hair and hold on tight, while his cock drilled you, until a third knock came on the door.
"I'm coming." Jaemin called, smiling as he was getting ready to do just that.

Lock and Key | Bakugou K.
Summary: It all started out as a harmless prank - Denki’s idea, to get the two of you to talk. It was no secret that you had feelings for Bakugou Katsuki, at least, not amongst your friends. Denki had meant well, sure, when he’d handcuffed the two of you together, but when the key goes missing... well, let’s just say, it’s gonna be a long 24 hours.
Pairings: Bakugou Katsuki x reader
Warning(s): Swearing, that should be it
Notes: Reminder that my requests are open! Let me know what you’d like to see on my page! Hope you enjoy this cute little fic for Bakugou :) I just wanted to write something soft and lighthearted, and cute, so this is that.
Tumblr media
You were going to kill Denki. That is, if Bakugou didn’t get to him first.
“Calm down, Bakubro! Murdering one of our classmates would not be very manly of you!”
And if it wasn’t for Kirishima, holding Bakugou back with all of his strength and giving you a sympathetic look as you were dragged along, Denki would’ve been toast. Literally.
“Look, man, I’m sorry!” Denki was saying, hiding behind Mina and Sero, “It’s just a prank, dude, a joke! Don’t kill me!”
“I’m gonna end you, spark plug!” Bakugou growled, “Get over here and get this shit off of me!”
Sero, barely holding back his laughter, said, “Aw, come on, Bakugou, I wouldn’t call y/n ‘shit’!”
For a moment, Bakugou blinks like he’s stunned, but then his murderous glare returns ten fold. “That’s... That’s not even what I meant, dunce face! I meant the handcuffs! Get. Them. OFF!”
You know, from the look Mina is sending you, that you’re blushing.
“Okay!” Kaminari scrambles out from behind the two, smiling sheepishly as he searches all his pockets, “No worries, man, let me just... let me... get the... key...”
Bakugou finally settles down, and you breathe a sigh of relief as he drops his hand, yours falling with it. You rub at your wrist lightly, eyebrows drawn together. You’d been handcuffed to Bakugou for almost ten minutes now, and your wrist was already sore from being yanked around so much.
“What’s taking so long, dunce face?” Bakugou grumbles.
“Well, you see, uhm... okay, listen, don’t be... don’t be mad, bro, just...” Kaminari laughs, eyes wide in fear, voice dropping so low you could hardly hear him, “I can’t exactly find it.”
You yelp in surprise as Bakugou activates his quirk, feeling the heat against the back of your hand.
“What did you say?!”
Everyone winces as he yells, face almost as red as Kirishima’s hair.
“Careful, dude, don’t burn her!” Kirishima says, hand on Bakugou’s shoulder.
Bakugou shoves him off, but listens to him nonetheless, and the heat subsides.
“It’s okay, Kiri, I’m fine.” You tell him quietly.
“Y/n, I’m so sorry,” Denki says, guiltily.
“Yeah, you’re about to be real sorry.” Bakugou says, “If you don’t get these off in the next five seconds!”
“Look, let’s just calm down for a minute, okay?” You say, stepping between the two. You feel Bakugou’s arm tug back against yours, as you move farther away from him, and your blush deepens. “Sorry. Anyway... why don’t we just see if Momo can make an extra key? Right?"
“That’s a good idea!” Kirishima says, optimistically. “See? Everything’s fine.”
“Yeah, why didn’t I think of that?” Kaminari scratches his head.
“Because you’re an idiot.” Bakugou mutters darkly.
Mina purses her lips, shifting back and forth on the balls of her feet. “Yeah, that would be great... Except Momo is visiting her parents, and won’t be back till later tonight.”
And just like that, Bakugou explodes again. “WHAT?!”
...
After a stressful call with Momo, involving Bakugou taking the phone from Mina not once, but twice, and telling her to ‘get her and her stupid ass ponytail back to UA NOW!’, it’s finally decided that you’ll just have to wait it out. Even Bakugou can’t say he’d rather go to Aizawa, because explaining this meant explaining the handprint shaped burns in Denki’s door.
Of course, Momo promises to help as soon as she’s back, but that’s still hours and hours away.
Bakugou, who still practically had steam coming out of his ears, sat beside you on the couch silently. Across from you, the rest of the group watched in sympathy (and fear). No one dared to break the silence, in fear he’d blow up on them again. You couldn’t say you blamed them.
“Come on.” Bakugou’s sudden command startles you.
“What? Where are we going?” You ask, following his lead and standing up (you were getting dragged along, either way).
He rolls his eyes, sighing, “I don’t know, but I’m not just gonna sit around like an idiot all day.”
He doesn’t wait for your response, marching out of the room. You look over your shoulder on your way out, a silent cry for help, and Denki has the audacity to give you a thumbs up and wink. You glare at him, sending your friends into a laughing fit.
“What are they laughing at?” Bakugou mutters, brow raised.
You flush in embarrassment, shrugging. “Dunno.”
The two of you eventually end up in the kitchen. You knew Bakugou could cook, everyone did because he regularly kicked everyone out of the kitchen so he could, but you’d never actually seen him in action. He was much calmer now that the two of you were alone, but the scowl never left his face.
After a few minutes of awkwardly trailing behind him as he gathered ingredients, you mustered up the courage to ask, “Can I help?”
He doesn’t answer for a moment, and you begin to think he’ll just ignore you, before he’s handing you a spoon. “You stir while I chop vegetables. I don’t trust you with a knife.”
Ignoring the backhanded comment, you take the spoon from him, happy he’s letting you help. You stir with one hand, resting the other on the counter beside him, so he can use both hands to chop the vegetables. It’s not easy, trying to cook while handcuffed to the angry blonde, but the two of you eventually find a rhythm.
“So what are you making?” You ask, turning to look at him. His focus is all on what he’s doing, and he looks so serious you try your best not to giggle. Does Bakugou ever just... relax? Still, the way his lower lip just barely juts out and his brow furrows, when he concentrates hard, is really cute.
“We’re making zosui.”
You’re heart does a little flip as he says ‘we’. He doesn’t mean anything by it, you know that, but you still have to turn away in an attempt to hide your smile. As mad as you were at Denki, you had to admit that being able to actually spend time with Bakugou doing something so... normal, domestic? It was nice. You’d spent an embarrassing amount of time daydreaming about a moment like this (except, in your daydreams, you weren’t handcuffed, and maybe there was kissing involved), but you’d never thought it would actually happen. The only time you got to spend time with him outside of class, normally, was if you asked for help with the homework or agreed to spar. But that was rare, these days. Bakugou normally sparred with Kirishima, anyway, and you always felt like a bother when you asked for help.
Sneaking another look at Bakugou, you find he’s already looking at you. He takes the spoon from you, gently bumping his hip into yours to move you out of the way, and you watch as he adds the veggies to the soup. As he stirs them in, he asks you to hand him the spices he’d set out beforehand.
“What, have you never seen someone cook before?” He asks.
You laugh sheepishly, “I ate a lot of microwave dinners growing up.”
The look he gives you is incredulous, borderline angry, and he scoffs. “You’re kidding. That shits terrible for you!”
You laugh, wrinkling your nose.
He meets your eyes for a moment, lips parted slightly, and you raise a brow at him. Before you can ask, his attentions is back on the soup, and he’s quiet again.
It doesn’t take long for the soup to be done, then, after he adds the rice. And you have to admit, even though you hadn’t helped much, you do feel a sense of accomplishment when you sit down to eat a meal that you made yourself.
The two of you sit down beside each other, forced to scoot your chairs so close that your thighs are almost touching. Surprisingly, he doesn’t complain.
“Thank you,” You say quietly, before digging in. “Wow! This is delicious!”
“Yeah, yeah, whatever,” He rolls his eyes, but you recognize the slightly smug look on his face. “You helped.”
You giggle, bumping shoulders with him. “Sure, but you’re the chef, here!”
He hid it behind another bite of food, but you could have sworn you saw him smile, too.
The two of you finish your meal in silence, Bakugou waiting with surprising patience for you to finish eating, before putting the bowls in the sink.
“Thanks.”
He gives you a look, “For what?”
For being so nice.
“For teaching me how to cook!”
He shrugs, muttering out ‘whatever’ in reply.
“So... what do you want to do know?” You ask, hoping his tolerance for your company would last.
You end up back in his dorm, awkwardly huddled together at the head of his bed. He was reading, as you mindlessly scrolled through your phone. The silence wasn’t awkward, like you’d thought it would be. It was comfortable, almost calming. You found yourself getting tired, the more you sat there.
Eventually growing bored of your phone, you turned to see what Bakugou was reading, and started reading the pages yourself. You didn’t think he’d noticed, until he slipped his finger behind the next page to turn it, and paused.
“You done?” He said, quiet and soft, his cheeks tinted the slightest pink.
Your eyes widened, blushing, “Uh, yeah. S-Sorry.”
He turned the page without another word, looking at you from the corner of his eye. You tried to ignore him, pretending to read, before he sighed.
And then, Bakugou began to read to you.
“W-What are you doing?”
He stopped, narrowing his eyes. “Reading, dumbass.” He snapped. “You read slower than me, it’s annoying.”
Despite the backhanded remark, you grinned. “Oh. Okay.”
He started again, sounding significantly less irritated, and you tried to slow the beating of your heart. In all the times you’d imagined hanging out with Bakugou, you had never thought of something this sweet. You especially hadn’t anticipated his voice ever being this soft, and calming.
As he read to you, you shifted closer, eventually resting your head on his shoulder. He faltered for a minute, hiding his fumble with a cough, but otherwise didn’t acknowledge it. It wasn’t until he reached the end of the next chapter that he realized you’d fallen asleep.
And he definitely wasn’t blushing, no, not Bakugou.
Hours later, when Momo and all your friends piled into his room, he whispered harshly, “Wake her up, and I’ll kill you!”
Maybe Denki’s plan had worked out, after all.

En Garde! Kate Bishop Pt 4 | Kate Bishop x Gn!Reader
Tumblr media
There was a storm brewing by the time America brought her mother's minivan to a stop. The four of you were bathed in darkness, the headlights flicked off half a mile before you got here. She turned the music down, cutting the engine and filling the cab with silence. You chewed on the inside of your lip. The moon was covered by clouds. It was now or never.
Kate turned in her seat, narrowing her eyes at you “We’re all clear on the plan, right?”
“Did you just direct that to me?” You asked, glancing at Tommy “She totally directed that at me.”
America groaned and slammed her forehead against the steering wheel with a dull thump “It doesn’t matter who it was directed at. You three need to get in and get out before my mom notices I took the car.”
You grumbled, crossing your arms over your chest in defiance. Though you had to admit, this wasn’t something you’d ever done before. Break the rules, that is. But after you had gotten a good look at Kate’s smug expression you agreed to steal the Hillside Hound. The mascot was displayed as a grey wolf, frothing at the mouth. Instead, they paraded a puppy around, sporting a collar in their school’s colors.
Kate had drawn a gameplan on a napkin at the diner they had just left, full and sated on greasy French fries and milkshakes. America was the get-away driver, Tommy was tasked with grabbing the dog, and you and Kate were to steal the locker room's key before passing it off to the fastest on the fencing team.
The three of you crept against the tree line. Hillside was fancier than your private school if that was even possible. Where the walls of the institute held the sons and daughters of lawyers and businessmen, Hillside held celebrities. Their security was just short of lax, quiet, and floppy in the middle of the night.
“Alright,” Tommy crouched low behind a perfectly trimmed hedge. “A security guard makes his rounds every thirty minutes. If I’m right, that gives us fifteen to get in and out. There are cameras in every hallway, but if you stick close enough to the walls, you can avoid the blind spots.”
“How do you know all of this?” You asked, slack-jawed.
He shrugged “Kate and I have a lot of free time.”
Before you could interject, Kate grabbed the fabric of your sleeve and started to pull you along. You gave a mock salute to Tommy and allowed yourself to be guided around the sharp edge of the property. You ran into her shoulder when she stopped abruptly, letting out a small huff that earned a glare.
The door to the athletic building had been left unlocked, to your surprise, a golden light filled the head volleyball coach's office. The two of you had to crawl across the carpeted floor, under her large, tinted window.
“This is a terrible idea,” You whispered at her, voice a low growl. “If either of us gets caught-“
“One, we’re not going to get caught. Two, even if we do, we’re the two best fencers on the team. What are they going to do, kick us off?”
You deadpanned, “Yes.”
It felt nice to right yourself as you entered a dark hallway. Your back ached and your palms were red from crawling across basement carpet, and suddenly, Kate was staring at you. Or past, you. There was movement past your shoulder, shifting at the end of the hallway. The security guard.
Kate was quick in her movements. She had you shoved against the brick wall of the corridor, her knee between yours, arms circling around your neck. Her lips were on yours, tasting sweet of strawberry and chocolate. You sighed into her touch, the shock wearing off as her tongue swiped across your bottom lip.
You breathed in every inch of her in the dark of the hallway, letting out a small noise that muffled in her throat. Her fingers moved against your jaw, nails leaving little stinging marks. It felt like an eternity that you never wanted to break but eventually did when the yellow glow of a flashlight stunned your vision.
“You kids nearly gave me a heart attack,” The security guard huffed, taking his light and moving it from your face to Kate’s “What the hell are you doing in here?”
Kate shrugged, pulling you closer “Looking for some privacy. We saw that the door was open.”
“Cars work great for this kind of this, you know?” He grumbled “Whatever. You two need to leave, this is private property after school hours as far as I’m concerned.
“You mean… we’re not in trouble?” You asked.
He raised a fuzzy eyebrow “Do you want to be?”
Kate shoved one of her pointed elbows into your diaphragm. That was the second time in the last five minutes that she had taken your breath away. Not that you would admit it. You rubbed the sore spot with your fingers. “No. No sir. We’ll just be on our way. Thank you.”
This time instead of your sleeve she grabbed your hand and started to lead you towards the way you came in. Mission failure- something neither of you were used to. Your hand was sweaty and with Kate’s back turned you felt confident enough to touch your lips, barely registering what had just happened.
You were less careful about getting back to America’s van. The two of you ran across the green and hopped over the low hedges. The air was warm despite the time of year, clouds fully covering the moon at this point. You hoped Tommy had gotten out, as the two of you barely had.
Kate slowed to a trot and then a walk. You followed her lead, shoving your hands into your pockets to keep some type of warmth to them. “That wasn’t… so bad.”
You frowned “We got caught and essentially broke into Hillside for no reason.”
“Not the mission. That was a failure from the start.”
“Then what are you” You stopped entirely, regarding her, then grinning “oh.”
She shoved your arm. “Shut up, Y/L/N.”
“Kind of want to hear you say it again.”
“Over your dead body,” Kate growled, walking towards the van.
“I think the saying is the other way around.”
“Not in this case.”
The photo that rested in the trophy case was leaned against the trophy that you had won against Hillside the following day. The metal that was once shining was now darker and dusty. You were sandwiched between Tommy and America, Kate hanging on the girl’s other side. You all beamed at the camera, supporting the massive award in your grasp. It looked so small now, so inconsequential.
Kate’s warped reflection came into focus in the glass. She surveyed the photo with wonder in her eyes. Your attention had shifted to her instead of the memory. Something neither of you ever mentioned again.
“It kind of tracks, you know?”
“What does?” Her arms were crossed over her chest, a lilt of a smile on her lips.
“You destroyed a clocktower. I mean, honestly, it might be some of your best work.”
She laughed, a light and beautiful sound, shoving her shoulder lightly into yours. The voices of students were muffled in the hallways as they filed into the auditorium. Your nerves still pooled and the thought of giving a presentation to a bunch of teenagers threatened to tense you up.
“That was my first kiss.” You finally spoke, “And before you say anything, I know. I’m what my mother calls a late bloomer.”
Kate blinked at you dumbly, the fluorescents reflecting off her charcoal stare. She opened her mouth to say something, let out a small sound, instead, and was cut off by Miss Maxine rounding the corner. You cleared your throat, wiping your palms on your jeans.
She said, “Full house in there.”
“Yeah,” You squeezed her shoulder and moved past her, “I think so. Ready to dazzle a bunch of prepubescents with our fencing skills?”
Kate shook her head as if clearing the fuzz in her mind, the corner of her lip turning up into a smile. “Yeah, I’m happy to kick your ass in front of an audience. It’s been a while.”

Can you write a smut with Tom riddle where the reader and him are dating, and he’s obviously used to being in charge but one night something happens (you can decide that part) and suddenly the reader wants to be in charge but Tom doesn’t want that so she ties him up and teases her till he’s begging her to let him cum or something like the idk.
I absolutely love ur writing, it’s absolutely incredible I could never write anything as good as you!😊
pairing: tom riddle x reader
warning(s): 18+, dom/sub roles (ish), begging, magical ties, oral (make receiving), mentions of oral (female receiving)
word count: 2.0k
a/n: and we’re back to our regularly scheduled smut. i have a ton of requests so be patient - i will get to it! thank you all for the love and support so far!
You and your boyfriend, Tom, were strolling through the halls of Hogwarts on your Prefect rounds, enjoying the complete silence of the massive castle. It was rare the halls were this quiet, but late at night tended to be the perfect time to stumble upon echoing walls and corridors where you could hear a pin drop.
Suddenly, Tom stopped in his tracks and stuck out a hand to stop you as well. “Do you hear that?” He asked in a hush whispering, pointing somewhere off to the left of where both of you stood.
Following his direction, you turned your head to the left and saw that it was a typically abandoned corridor but you did hear the faint rustle of clothing and distant female giggling. You rolled your eyes and began walking in that direction, already knowing you’d have to break up two young people just wanting to have a bit of fun. It wasn’t that you wanted to spoil their good time, but it was an unspoken rule that if a Prefect caught you, they had no other choice unless they themselves wanted to end up in trouble.
As you approached, wands drawn in order to cast a lumos charm, Tom put his body in front of you, taking charge.
“I can handle it,” you whispered, a pout brought to your face.
He didn’t even stop his movement, just kept walking even as he shot you a smirk. You rolled your eyes in frustration. He did this every time. You were perfectly capable of breaking up two horny teenagers and sending them off to bed, but he always had to be the one in charge. You were growing quite sick of it.
He got there before you and handled the situation with a dominant grace that only he seemed to possess, and he sent the two fifth years scattering on the way back to their respective common rooms. Without even another look in your boyfriends direction, you went stalking the other way and were determinately headed back to the Slytherin common room.
“Get back here,” he said with a warning in his voice, following you nonetheless.
“No. I’m going to bed,” you said rather loudly, not faltering in your steps.
“Oh for the love of Merlin, what’s wrong?” He asked, his long legs giving him the ability to catch up with you.
“You,” was your bitter reply.
“Me? What have I done?” He asked incredulously.
“Yes, you, Tom,” you said, finally halting in your steps and swinging around to face him. “You always have to be the one in charge. I could have easily handled that, like I said, but no. You just had to go and- and-,” you explained, waving your hands animatedly, but you trailed off once you realized this entire conversation was pointless. He wasn’t just going to change his incessant behavior no matter what you said. Besides, the smirk on his face as he looked down at you just proved it was a losing battle.
“Darling, I hate to burst your bubble but you’ll never be in charge while I’m around. You don’t have to be,” he explained, attempting to be gentle through his cocky demeanor but his words only sent you into another flurry.
“You want a bet? That I can’t be in charge?” You asked heatedly, your mind already slipping straight into the gutter.
He paused for a moment, then finally sighed and raised an eyebrow. “Fine,” he agreed, “but you only get one chance so don’t mess it up for yourself.”
~~~
The moment the two of you entered Tom’s private room, your lips were on each other and you took the initiative to slowly back him up into the bed until he had no choice but to sit with you standing before him. His grip on your waist was tight, but you had other plans for his hands anyways.
The entire walk down to the dungeons, you had been plotting. You needed to prove to him that you could be in charge. Sure, it was nice that you had a boyfriend willing to take charge in all situations and you never had to worry about a thing, but you still felt the incessant need to prove yourself.
“Take your clothes off and lie on the bed,” you told him when you pulled away from the kiss, attempting to emulate the demeanor he always gave off in situations like this.
You heard him chuckle to himself, still under the impression that you couldn’t pull this off, but he did as you asked anyways. Finally, he was laying naked on the bed, completely relaxed against the pillows and looking at you expectantly.
“Do you worst, Y/N,” he jested, his hand moving to trail down to his half erect cock but you stopped him in his tracks.
“Did I say you could do that?” You asked, holding his wrist in your grip. His eyes darted up to yours and he looked shocked for a moment, but that look in his eyes went away in a flash as the signature smirk came back.
He put his hand back down on the duvet and you climbed into the bed with him, straddling his legs. When he had been busy undressing, you undressed yourself down to your bra and panties. Little did he know what you had hidden underneath was a matching set.
“Keep your hands right there. You’re gonna be a good boy for me tonight, right?” You cooed, trailing kisses from his neck down to his abdomen as you spoke.
“The best,” he shot back with a sarcastic wink and it only made you chuckle to yourself because he truly had no idea what was coming.
You continued your trail of kisses until you were firmly planted between his legs and your mouth was inches away from his cock. He was fully erect now and could feel your breath against his, making his cock twitch with anticipation.
“Beg,” you demanded, refusing to touch him until he did at least the bare minimum, only placing kisses on his pelvis and thighs.
“Please, Y/N. I’d love to cum down your throat right now,” he said lowly, but you could tell the begging was noncommittal. That would change.
You easily complied, wanting him to think he had the upper hand, and immediately brought him into your mouth. You loved sucking his cock. He was warm and heavy on your tongue, and the noises he made always made you dripping wet. He wasn’t disappointing tonight.
He released a low groan the second he felt his tip hit the back of your throat and he bucked his hips up, but you pushed the back down with force. You continued your ministrations, just waiting for him to lose himself. When you took him all the way down your throat, he lost it.
His hands tangled in your hair as he tried to hold you down on him, cutting off your air supply, but you were prepared for this. He loved face fucking you and you knew if you had his mouth on his he just wouldn’t be able to resist. You reached for your wand that was strategically placed beside his leg on the bed and cast a silent spell. Immediately, his hands were removed from your hair and magically tied to the bed frame, locked into place.
“What the fuck, Y/N?” He asked, seething.
When you pulled off of his, you could see it in his eyes how angry he was. He didn’t think you had this in you. But how could he be so naive when you had learned from him? The best?
“Where did I tell you to keep your hands?” You asked him, using one hand to lightly stroke his cock as you spoke.
“The bed. Fuck. Let me out,” he demanded, struggling against his confines.
“I don’t think I will,” you answered, suppressing a laugh. “After all, I am in charge.”
You didn’t even give him a chance to reply, taking him in your mouth again and keeping your hands on his hips to hold them down. He didn’t have much leverage from this angle, so you knew it would be no problem.
You dragged moan after moan from him, bringing him right to the edge and back down quite a few times until he was a sweating, writhing mess below you. You knew he was frustrated beyond belief, he had done this to you too many times to count. How did he like the taste of his own medicine?
You weren’t even sure how long it had been going on for, but your jaw was beginning to ache and you were praying to Circe he cracked soon. That non committed begging from earlier was about to be real genuine soon if you had anything to say about it.
You pulled off of him once more and your eyes snapped to his face. His hair was stuck to his forehead and neck, his chest was rapidly expanding and contracting, trying his best to get his breathing back under control, and there was a fury in his eyes so unmatched that you knew you’d be paying for this later.
“Tell me what you want, Tom. Beg for it. Be a good boy for me, yeah?” You instructed, your hands massaging small circles into his tense thighs, willing him to relax into it.
You could see the conflict in his face. He didn’t want to concede to you, wanting to prove his own point that you couldn’t, or shouldn’t have to be, in charge around him. But you knew how badly he wanted to cum. He cock was flushed such a dark shade of red that you were sure it had to hurt by now. He was aching for it, aching for you to get him there and let him cum in your mouth.
“Fucking hell. Please, Y/N, let me fucking cum. Please,” he said breathlessly, his whole body limp against the bed as he stared up at you imploringly.
A rush of power shot through, knowing you deny him so easily in the moment - leave him tied up and begging and wanting and aching. If you kept this up for much longer you know you’d end up on some sort of power trip. You knew he was letting you have this, letting you have his submission, but it still felt so damn good.
“That wasn’t so hard, was it?” You asked with a gleeful grin before immediately getting back to work, your sights set on getting him the release he had begged for.
“Fuck. Please don’t be cruel. Let me cum Y/N,” he continued to babble when he felt the warmth of your mouth again, his mind lost to the pleasure his body was feeling.
That only made you work harder, wanting to show him a shred of mercy for the night he had endured. After all, he was a good boy for you throughout most of it.
His entire body tenses again right before he exploded into your mouth was a loud groan. His body trembled as warm ropes of cum shot down your throat and onto your tonugue. You suckled greedily from the head, getting every last drop out, until he was squirming against the sheets. When you finally came up, he was still breathing heavily and his head was thrown back against the pillows.
You crawled up the bed to lay beside him, looking over his body in appreciation. He was glistening from sweat and completely still now other than his breathing.
“Are you going to let me out now?” He asked bitterly, attempting to move his hands from the ties as he looked over at you.
“Oh c’mon. You know that was fun. And besides, I think I’d like to sit on your face next,” you said with a giggle, watching his face fall into another shocked expression. You would forever remember this night as a lesson well taught.
yunho x y/n
rating: m
genre: smut with a dash of fluff
wc: 2.4k
warnings: steamy shower sex!!!! oral (f r), kinda hand job idk if it counts, light praising, mentions of melted ice cream :o
summary: the hot summer sun is horribly unforgiving. and what's better on a hot summer day but a cool shower? or, even better, a cool shower with mr. jeong yunho? <3
______________________________________________________________
It was hot. Unberably, ridiculously, stupid, dumb hot. The kind of heat where nail polish becomes sticky and ink won’t dry. Brain melting hot. At least there was a breeze; wind riffled through leaves causing storms of maple tree seeds to fall to the sun torchered ground. Birds cried harshly as winds jostled their homes. Small creatures kept to the shadows: rabbits, squirrels, and chipmunks skirting the sickening heat. Delicate and dainty flower petals wilted tragically.
And what were you to do? It was too miserable to even lift a finger. You were surprised your body was still functioning, believing your heart should burst and your blood boil. Simply miserably miserable you positioned yourself upon the sofa in the living room, the shades drawn so as to not let the fires of hell enter the home. If it weren’t for his promise of ice cream in the next ten minutes, you would have removed all the food from the freezer and shut yourself in, even if it meant asphyxiation, you could not have cared less at this point. If the universe wanted you to melt so badly, why didn’t it just get it over with, the sadist?
Eleven minutes, you thought to yourself, if he takes eleven minutes, we’re through. The prospect of ice cream was not taken lightly in your family. Ice cream was a happy escape for you. A brief moment of release from the trials and tribulations of everyday life. In reality, it wasn’t that great a deal but, today, as the sea of flames spilled through the glass window panes, ice cream was life or death and you would kill for it. You would kill anyone.
As minute ten neared and beads of sweat ran down your back, the door opened and in walked your Knight in Shining Armour, Jeong Yunho.
You watched Yunho as he stood, pantting, in the entryway. You knew the heat was real because of the way he was dressed; he wore a simple white tank top and camouflage cargo shorts. His lightly curled, night black hair was concealed by a ballcap. He removed his sandals and walked towards the living room, barefeet softly padding across the hardwood.
“Okay,” he started. You stared up at him from your place on the couch as he stood in front of you. His cheeks were flushed and his face glistened with a sheen of sweat. “We have choices:” a drop of clear liquid emerged from his hat-covered hairline and dripped to his eyebrow. Chocolate crunch,” he pulled an ice cream bar from his left hip pocket. “Strawberry and orange cream,” he held two bars previously in his right hip pocket. “And,” he pulled a final bar from his bottom left pocket, “brown sugar boba.”
You carefully observed the selections he held before you. You would take anything frozen, even black cherry walnut.
“But, the thing is,” his tone dropped. “They’re melted.” He shook the bags and you could hear liquid sloshing around.
A quiet rage filled your chest, burning through your lungs. “Yunho!” He lowered his head and dropped his shoulders. “Why did you put them in your pockets?”
“I thought it would protect them from the sun but, I think it acted as a sort of convection  oven and escalated the melting process… don’t be mad at me.” He looked down at you through large, heart crushing, puppy dog eyes.
“Hmmmmmmmm,” you whined, destroyed by the lack of immediate ice cream. “We can put them in the fridge I guess. But, that’ll take forever, ugh.” You slowly dragged your hands across your face, collecting far more sweat than you could have imagined. “Ew,” you cringed, looking at your silken hands. “I guess I can shower while they’re in the freezer.”
“Wait,” Yunho called from the kitchen. “I need to shower first; I am drenched.”
“No, me first.”
“You’re not even off the couch,” he shut the freezer door. “How are you going to beat me to the bathroom?” A cocky smile spread on his rose petal lips.
“I’ll beat you.” You made an attempt to stand but your legs felt like jello-twigs and they collapsed under you. “Fine,” you sighed. “I’ll drown in my own sweat. Tell me you love me before it’s too late.”
It was impossible but you could hear him smiling from where he stood.
“y/n, my love,” his footsteps neared. “There is room for more than one in the shower.” Yunho extended a hand.
“Carry me.”
“Hmm,” he pretended to contemplate. “Fine.”
His actions were swift; strong hands reached under your legs and back, pulling you off the couch and to his chest. You wrapped your arms around his neck. He was sweaty but you didn’t mind.
Your feet met the cold, stone floor as he set you down in the bathroom. He moved to turn on the shower and you faced the mirror. Your hair was terribly frizzy (on account of the humidity) and fell this way and that, sticking to your damp forehead. Your face was puffy and your cheeks awfully rosy. You wore, it could barely be called, a tank top and no bra.
“Yunho,” you called gently. “I don’t think I want to do anything. I don’t feel very sexy right now.” You watched as he wrapped his arms around your waist and buried his face in the crook of your neck.
His hot breath stuck to your skin. “You’re hotter than this weather, darling.”
You laughed. “Cheesy.”
“Yet, completely true.” he set his chin on the top of your head and looked at you through the mirror. “Just a shower,” he promised. “Nothing more.”
Chilly water met your shoulders sending a shiver up your spine. But it felt nice. Water trickled over your face, down your neck and back, dragging the sweat and hardships of that day down the drain. Delicately scented, strawberry soap bubbled as you lathered it over your collar bones. “Let me get your back,” he said. Strong hands met your shoulder blades; massaging with his fingertips. Hands worked down your sides, gripping your hips and pulling back to rub the soap into your lower back.
“Mhm,” you moaned out as his fingers worked through the knots and tension.
“Does it feel good, sweetheart?” his hands ghosted lower.
“Hey,” you turned to face him. “You said just a shower.” He stood in front of you: tall and broad; godlike. The water was cold yet, blue veins pressed against the skin of his arms and hands. His dark hair was slicked back, accentuating the perfect bone structure of his face.
“Don’t you want a relaxing shower?”
You eyed his lush lips which were slightly parted in a gentle smile. Your gaze traveled his strong features and came to rest on his eyes. Those beautiful eyes; the eyes you fell for. The eyes that could never hide his feelings; eyes that told everything. There were little droplets of water caught on his eyelashes and he blinked them away.
You felt the urge to kiss him; setting your hands on either cheeks. You stood high on your tippy toes but he was still out of reach and was unwilling to help. “Yunho,” you gripped his face tighter. “Come here. I want to kiss you-”
He put a finger to your lips. “Just. a. Shower.”
“One kiss,” you whispered over the stream of the shower.
“One kiss,” he agreed.
You closed your eyes, waiting, expecting his lips upon yours. Instead, you felt his hands graze down your sides and hips, resting on the tops of your thighs. You opened your eyes to see Yunho drag the tip of his nose down your stomach. His warm breath hovered just in front of your sex. “Yunho, that’s not what I meant.” You put your hands on his chin, trying to pull his lips back to yours.
He only gripped your thighs harder. “You asked for a kiss,” he breathed. “I’m going to give you a kiss, my love.”
Every hair stood on end as his nose ran over your clit. He tilted his head back to lick a wet stripe against your sensitive nerves. You whined as his tongue landed directly on it, circling again and again. You could only whine as his lips enclosed you and your legs became wobbly.
“Y-yunho,” you moaned as he sucked. “I’m going to fall.” You tried to balance yourself against the wall and he wrapped his arms around your back, trying to stabilize you as he continued to suck and lick relentlessly. “Ah,” you could feel that familiar knot twist in your stomach as he began to kiss you harder. And, when that knot was at the verge of snapping, he removed his lips with a wet smack.
He groaned as he stood and met your eyes, watching you as you breathed haggardly, mouth gaping. A hand fell to your shoulder, moving a wet strand of hair back. “I’m a good kisser, huh?”
“Mhm,” you nodded.
“Yeah,” he hummed, running his hands up and down your back. “Would you like to kiss again?”
“Ha,” you scoffed and wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him into a deep kiss. It was heavenly as your bodies collided; your hands tugging at his silky hair, tits against his abs, his nails pressing crescent moons into your hips.
You pulled back to catch your breath, still winded from him eating you out. “God,” you ran a thumb over his cheek. “You are a good kisser.”
You thought he would come right then and there, the look he gave you was steeped in passion and lust. His hand met your ass, pulling one leg up to his waist as he moved to press your back against the cold tile wall. He winced as his hard on pressed against your lower stomach.
You loved that look. You wanted to see it again; to know you made him feel good.
Your hand snaked between your bodies as you began to pepper light kisses across his collar bones. He gasped as you grabbed his dick in your hand. You felt his Adam's apple bob as your lips moved to his neck. You squeezed him a little harder and his head fell back with a moan, giving you more beautiful canvas.
Warm fingers met your clit and you dropped your head to his neck, already sensitive from his mouth. “You’re so wet,” he ran his fingers back and forth through your folds, each movement causing you to moan against his chest.
“We-we’re in the shower,” you managed.
A deep laugh vibrated through his chest and his dick twitched in your hand. “I guess you’re right.” He pulled at your other leg. “Come here.”
“Yunho,” you raised your head. “If you slip and drop me,” you warned as effectively as you could with his fingers working you so wonderfully.
“I would never let you fall,” his strong arms pulled you close. “Jump.”
You managed to jump the best you could and one of Yunho’s hands was there to meet you. “Good job, baby,” he lowered you down his body a little.
You could feel him lining up, his tip pushing at your entrance. His eyes fell to yours, watching your face as he lowered you slowly onto him. You groaned as he moved deeper into you, parting you. “Is it okay,” a hand rubbed your back lovingly.
“Yeah,” you nodded. “You can keep going.”
He smiled slightly and loosening his grip on your back one last time, bottomed out with a moan.
You tugged at his hair as you adjusted to his immense size.
“Okay?” He kissed your cheeks.
“Yes, just give me a sec.” You moved your hips up and down, desperate for the pain to subside.
“Jesus,” he squeezed his eyes shut. “A warning next time.”
You clenched around him in response.
“Cheeky,” he chuckled.
“Okay,” you breathed out. “Move.”
“Okay,” he smiled down at you. He captured your moans in a kiss as he thrusted into you.
He was gentle with you, as he always was. He carefully watched you, making sure everything felt good, that he made you feel good. “That’s it, baby,” he cooed. “You’re so pretty.”
You gripped his shoulders as his pace began to quicken and you couldn’t help but clench as his veins dragged against your walls.
“If you keep doing that,” he choked out between thrusts. “I’m going to come right now.”
You slumped against his chest. You wanted to listen to him but he was making you feel so good. Your body was coming completely relaxed and undone in his touch. Your mind, your body, your heart; you were so at ease being with him.
However, your nerves began to spark as his fingers fell to your clit. You could tell he was close because he dropped his forehead to yours wordlessly, his nose scrunched. And he loved when you two came together; Completely free in each other’s arms.
He seemed to completely forget about the slick watery surface he stood on and began to pound into you as fast and as hard as he could. You moaned and mewled as he hit deeper and deeper with each thrust.
“I’m gonna come, y/n,” he warned, his pace becoming erratic and you clenched harder around him, feeling your high approaching too.
“Me too, Yunho,” you whined as he hit your g-spot with a particular force.
You came loudly, fingers desperately searching for something to grip, finally resting on his toned biceps.
He followed you almost immediately, his hips ramming into yours sloppily as his dark eyes bored into yours, a lazy smile on his swollen lips. He pulled out and slumped to the shower floor, holding you tightly in his arms. He gently peppered your face with kisses. “I love you, y/n.”
You giggled as he found a ticklish spot behind your ear. “I love you too, Yunho.” You sighed as you saw his cum run out of your pussy and down the shower drain. “We should have sex in the shower more often; easier to be lazy.”
“I tire you out that much, huh?”
“My god,” you scoffed. “Cocky bastard.”
“You love it,” he teased, massaging the inside of your sore thighs.
You rolled your eyes. “Wanna wash my hair?” You asked, only half kidding.
“I would but, I don’t want to. I want to stay like this.”
“Me too,” you agreed, sinking deeper into his arms. “I could fall asleep like this.”
“Yeah,” his raspy voice responded. “Me too.”
You want to fuck him. It’s been decided. This realization couldn’t have come at a worse time, though. You’re surrounded by Jedi and Clone Officers in a very important meeting detailing your next mission. But you only have eyes for one of the men and he’s currently standing at the head of the room giving a briefing to the holo of Master Yoda. It’s a testament to Commander Wolffe’s presence that you barely notice the little green Jedi Master he’s conversing with. Well, his presence and his extreme handsomeness.
When you’d first met him, you’d been truly intimidated. The other women you worked with nodded in understanding, whispering they had been thrown off by his cybernetic eye and prominent scar. But that wasn’t it. You’d noticed those things, but that wasn’t what made you uneasy.
It was the fact that he took one look at you and seemed to see right into your soul. You couldn’t explain it but you felt like with just a glance, he could tell your deepest insecurities. And stars, did you have a lot of those.
You had worked your way up through the medical field and had started your residency at the biggest hospital in Coruscant. After your training ended, you had secured a permanent job there. It had been difficult, to say the least. Though you knew you were qualified, even more so than most of your male co-workers, you still doubted yourself often.
Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi had come to visit you one nondescript Thursday afternoon, telling you of the need for doctors in the GAR. He said you came most highly recommended when he was searching for recruits but still, you thought a mistake had been made and that someone soon would realize and send you back to your normal life. It was a recurring nightmare you’d developed in the past few weeks that shook you from your sleep.
You had agreed to join the GAR, sympathetic to the cause and wanting to do your part. The next few weeks had consisted of you getting your bearings and meeting the rest of the staff at the base . Kix, the clone medic in charge, had helped you learn the ropes and had introduced you to all his brothers. At first, you had been overwhelmed by the sea of identical faces. As the weeks had gone on, you’d learned everyone’s names and they’d made you feel welcome, like one of their own.
The Commander and you had crossed paths several times. He was polite but distant. Not like you blamed him. He had more important things to do than exchange drawn out pleasantries. With each run-in, though, he seemed to be making more of an effort to be personable. Unfortunately, each conversation left you looking more and more like an idiot. Or a di’kut. The boys had been teaching you some Mando’a.
You were a medical professional, a well-respected doctor and yet Wolffe made you feel unsure of yourself. It had been so long since you’d had a crush that you didn’t realize this was what the beginning of one felt like.
As you sit around the war room table, you feel even more like a school girl. Instead of paying attention to whatever Master Yoda is saying, you’re transfixed by Wolffe’s face. The hazy blue light from the holo reflects off his features, making him look ethereal. His scar looks even more prominent and you blush, remembering how often you’ve wondered what it would feel like to let your fingers trace it.   And his lips. They’re moving, responding to whatever the Jedi has said. They’re mesmerizing and now you’re thinking of what it would be like to kiss him. Or even better yet, to have those lips pressed against the plushier parts of your body.
You continue to stare until you realize his face has turned to you. It probably only takes you a second to come back to reality but it feels like an eternity. Somehow you’re able to respond to the question.
“Yes, Commander. All medical personnel are prepared for an 0800 liftoff. Kix will take his team with the 501st and I’ll have my staff along with the 104th. We’ll reconnoiter once we’ve landed on Hisseen.” The rest of the table nods, moving the conversation along. Wolffe stares at you for a moment, a hint of a smirk on his lips. You avert your gaze, finding the table a much safer object of your attention.
The discussion wraps up and Wolffe stands at attention, puffing his chest out, before Master Yoda disappears. Once again, your eyes are drawn to him. You’re not sure how but he makes something so mundane look indescribably attractive. Wolffe’s head turns in your direction but you’ve already bolted from your seat, hoping to cool down in the hallway.
Kix pushes through the crowd to get to you. “Hey, Doc. How’d the meeting go?” You shrug. “Nothing new to report. Just making sure we’re all set for our campaign.” He’s shifting back and forth, a sort of glazed look in his eyes. You realize he’s not paying particularly close attention. It’s the look of someone asking you something just so they can request a favor in return.
“Hmm oh yeah, that’s nice. Say, Doc, do you think you could cover for me for a few hours? I have some urgent business to attend to.”
“Since when is playing Sabacc with Fives and the boys urgent?”
“Since I remembered how terrible they are at it. I can make a real killing playing against them.”
You laugh. It’s true. You’ve come to love those men but a lot of them are really horrible at the game. You’ll need to give them a remedial course if you have any downtime on Hisseen. “Of course. What do you need me to do?” He rewards you with a huge grin. “Nothing hard! A few higher ups coming in for their physicals. Just the usual. Make sure they’re in tip top shape to get shot at by some tinnies.”
He gives you the list. It’s only a handful of men but the last one on it makes your blood go cold. “Commander Wolffe needs a physical?” Kix is oblivious to your inner turmoil. “Oh yeah, but he knows the drill. Honestly everyone can do it themselves at this point. We’re basically there to oversee it as a formality.”
You swallow down your apprehension and nod. “Sounds easy enough. Go have fun. And take it easy on them, will ya? Let them keep a little of their dignity intact” Kix just grins and shoots you a wave as he runs off.
Your first few appointments go just fine. The officers are professionals and Kix was right, they could do these routine physicals with their eyes closed. You give them all your seal of approval and settle in to do your paperwork before your last, most anticipated patient arrives. The forms in front of you hold no interest and you find yourself checking the chrono every few seconds.
It’s not easy but you manage to finish your work. You set it aside and take steadying breath. Five more minutes and he’ll be here. You scold yourself. The Commander has never been anything but professional. You’re the one thinking these very unprofessional thoughts.
And you’re a doctor, for kriff’s sake. Your patients should be able to come to you without worrying you may be fantasizing about what they look like naked. But these are uncharted waters. It’s your first time having to deal with a patient you’re this attracted to. They really should take your medical license away.
Just as you’re thinking of packing it all up and handing in your resignation to the Jedi Council, a knock at the door snaps you to attention. Well, here goes nothing. You scold yourself once again for checking your reflection in the mirror before answering the door.
You had tried to adopt a passive, professional look to your face before greeting Wolffe but it must not have worked. “Everything alright, Doc? I’m not early, am I?” You shake your head.“Not at all. Punctual as always, Commander.” You beckon for him to come in and take a seat. You close the door, then sit across from him at your desk.
Your datapad hums to life and you busy yourself opening the appropriate forms you need to fill out. The weight of his eyes is heavy on you and your cheeks heat up in spite of yourself. You push on through as best you can.
“Well, Commander, how are you feeling today?” There’s that ghost of a smirk again but it vanishes so quickly you're not sure if you imagined it. “I feel like a million credits.” You giggle despite it not even being that funny. You’ve got it bad. “Glad to hear it. This should be quick then.” You gather your equipment and get to work.
First, you take his weight. Then, you listen to his heart. You press the stethoscope to his sternum, thankful you can do this over his blacks. He observes you the whole time. “And what about you? How are you today, Doc?” You risk a glance and meet his eyes. That was a mistake.
“Me? Oh-um just fine. Maybe not like a million credits but a few hundred at least.” You trail off dumbly but he humors you with a chuckle. You’re not sure you’ve ever heard that sound from him before. It’s like music to your ears. “Anything I can do to help? You do look a little flushed. Are you sure you don’t have a fever?” You avert your eyes again.
“No. I’m alright. It’s just, uh, hot in these uniforms. The coarseweave doesn’t breathe.”
“You sure? Maybe I should be the one giving you a check-up.”
You realize he’s toying with you now.
“That won’t be necessary, Commander.”
You move on to check his lungs. “Breathe in for me.” You move the stethoscope to his chest, then move it around a few different spots on his back. “You can call me, Wolffe. If you’d like.” He breathes in every time, not even needing prompting, ever the dutiful soldier, even when he’s teasing you.
“I would like that. Thank you, Wolffe.”
Next, you measure his blood pressure. You’re shocked that it’s so low. He sees the look of surprise on your face. “Something wrong?”
“Not at all. The opposite, in fact. Your pressures are great. I just thought with your lifestyle they might, understandably, be a bit higher.”
“What kind of lifestyle do you think I have?”
You’re backtracking as quickly as you can. “I just meant, your life as a soldier, it must be extremely stressful.”
There’s that smirk again. “It is. But you don’t get to be a Commander by not being able to handle the pressure.”
“Of course. But even so, if you’d like some stress relief techniques I can suggest some.” He hums as if really thinking it over. Thankfully there’s only one part of your exam left. Which is good because you’re not sure how much resolve you have remaining.
“Everything looks great. I’ll just do a head and neck exam and then I can send you on your way.”
You need to touch him for this part but you stop yourself, hands hovering but not quite meeting their destination. You feel like once you touch him, really feel his skin under your fingers, there may be no going back.
Wolffe sees your hesitation, then slowly reaches out to take your hands. You watch with wide eyes as he guides them to his neck. He looks up at you innocently enough but you can tell he’s laughing internally. You try to reign in control of the situation.
“Sorry, I just got distracted.” The Commander studies you but this time it’s in earnest. “Are you nervous? This’ll be your first time in an active war zone, right?” You had been anxious but not about that. But now that he mentions it, yeah, you honestly don’t know what you’ve gotten yourself into.
“Yes, I’m not sure what to expect. I guess you could say I’m a little scared.” Wolffe gently holds your chin, directing you to look back at him. “I won’t lie. It’ll be overwhelming and frightening. Battles can seem never-ending. But I promise I won’t let anything happen to you.”
You’re staring into each other’s eyes and you don’t want to stop. But then he’s clearing his throat and gently removing his hand from your skin. You realize you’ve been resting your own hands on his shoulders this whole time. “Thank you, Wolffe. I do feel much better knowing you’ll be there.” You offer him a smile, hoping it conveys just how much you appreciate him looking out for you.
You begin your exam, gently kneading where his neck meets his shoulders, checking for any anomalies. Then you move to his throat. The throat you’ve so often been distracted by. It’s featured prominently in your daydreams. You move your hands along it, under his jawline. Having a man this powerful baring one of the most vulnerable parts of his body to you is intoxicating. Focus, di’kut.
Everything feels normal except for some knots you find resting right below the surface of his smooth skin. “Lymph nodes feel good. You’re a little tense, though. But I bet it’s from that bucket you have to wear most of the day.” He hums in thought. “True. But even so. Maybe you could give me some of those ideas for stress management?” He looks up at you with big eyes. There’s mischief in them but something else. Vulnerability?
You gulp audibly. “Of course. There are a few that work particularly well, um, like deep breathing techniques, going on walks, talking with friends, meditation, journaling, physical activity…” You’re rambling, fighting a losing game against your resolve. Wolffe thinks on it. “Physical activity seems like a good place to start.” His hands come up to gently cover yours that are still resting on his neck.
The sensation of his calloused fingers on your skin sends shivers down your body. You close your eyes, feeling the last of your self-control topple over. “Wolffe,” you whine “We shouldn’t…” He immediately drops his hands, worry etched on his face. “I’m so sorry. It’s just- I thought you wanted-.” He cuts himself off, snapping up to his feet and to attention. “Doctor, you should report me to General Plo Koon for immediate disciplinary action.”
Dank Farrik, you’ve just ruined everything.“Wolffe! No, I’m not reporting you to anyone. If anything you should report me for being so unprofessional.” His shoulders relax a bit but he still eyes you as if you’re a live grenade that might explode at any second. “What do you mean?” You sigh in frustration. This isn’t how you wanted to confess your feelings to him.
“I…want you, Wolffe. The second I realized that I should have asked to be re-assigned to a different battalion. Instead I thought I could push those feelings down and continue to do my job. Looks like that was a mistake.” You hang your head, avoiding his piercing gaze. He’s silent for just a moment but it feels like an eternity.
“So, you want me and I want you?” You nod your head, ashamed, as he continues. “Then what’s the problem, Doc?” Your eyes snap to his, not believing what you’re hearing.
“Isn’t it wrong of us?”
Wolffe sits down on the exam table again, genuinely thinking on it. “I don’t see why. We’re both consenting adults. We don’t work directly with each other- I report to General Koon, you report to General Kenobi- so there’s no real conflict of interest. The worst we’ll face is a little ribbing from the boys if they find out.”
You raise your head to look him in the eyes, needing to make sure he’s serious and that this isn’t some twisted joke. What you find staring back at you is hope and promise. He senses your trepidation and gently takes your hands in his. “I’m sorry if I came on strong. But the thing about this life is that there are no guarantees. Tomorrow isn’t promised and so I figured I’d rather go for something, someone, that I want and have my heart broken rather than regretting my inaction.”
Your eyes roam the scars on his face, evidence of just how true his words are. You’re heading into active battle tomorrow. One or both of you could be injured, or worse. You step towards him. He spreads his legs so you have room to get closer. You rest your forehead on his, breathing him in.
His hands come up to caress your sides. You take a shaky breath. He questions you softly. “Cyar’ika?” Ah, now that’s one of the new words you definitely remember. His vulnerability makes you ache and the decision to hand your heart over is an easy one. “You’re right, Wolffe. Might as well do some living while we can.”
