(After yapping to each other for about x minutes)

"Thanks for listening to me when I ranted." Moon mutters, not knowing how to show much gratitude though he was rather thankful. Many people would be bored if he kept talking about science and whatnot, but not Eclipse.

"Same goes to you." Eclipse shrugs, unable to express himself too well either. He keeps his eyes away from Moon, nodding. "Thanks."

A short silence surrounds them for a moment, a thankfully comfortable one to ease the former tension and awkwardness between them.

"So..." A smile stretches on Moon's face, offering his hand. "..brothers?"

Eclipse's eyes widen, looking at Moon's stretched hand. Hesitantly, he takes it, shaking firmly. "Brothers..." He smirks. "..if I get to be the older one."

"Shit." Moon cracks up, not having expected that sudden addition. He sits up, holding his stomach as he keeps laughing. "Dammit! Im technically older than you!"

"Too late." Eclipse snickers, his arm unconsciously behind Moon to secure his safety if he ever were to fall. "We already shook hands, little brother."

Moon can barely speak in his laughter, halfly joking as he manages to. "Noo!!"

Warning, long rant ahead:

Sometimes I look at other’s opinions on a character and it’ll be like “I LOVE this guy. I will defend them to the DEATH they’re the absolute BEST.” And then one (1) episode goes by where they make a bad call in the heat of the moment, or does something mean to another character, and they’re like “I HATE them. THEY’VE NEVER had a GOOD bone in their body. Now they’re a VILLAIN I guess. Horrible writing.” And. Like.

That’s the thing with characters. They often times make mistakes. Or do bad things for what they view as a good reason. It doesn’t mean you have to defend them, or agree with the reason they’re doing the bad thing. But like… you have to have a bit of sympathy. You’re viewing their moral decisions from an outside perspective, where none of it affects you! If you want to understand why your blorbo said the mean thing, you have to understand that people say things they don’t always mean. That blorbo was under a lot of pressure at that moment. It doesn’t make it right, they still need to apologize, but… can’t you relate a little bit?

This is about Ruin running away from the group after his Monty died. This is about Nexus saying horrible things and running from his family. This is about Charlie tormenting Eclipse. This is about Lunar killing Eclipse. This is about Lunar using NSP. This is about Dark Sun.

It can be so frustrating to see people slapping “hero” and “villain” labels on every character, when clearly they’re more complex than that. Nobody is a “hero” or a “villain”. Nexus hurt Sun and Earth’s feelings, and tormented Moon. He also felt he was under the expectation of being better than Moon his whole life, and then when Moon comes back, everyone just ran back to Moon as their better brother. Was that what happened? Not exactly. But that’s the situation Nexus thinks is happening.

Moon died, and when Nexus went to see him, he promised to always protect his family, as Moons are supposed to do, in his opinion. Then, he gets revived, and Nexus has done the opposite. He’s run away from his family when they needed him most, over an Eclipse. He’s a coward and a poor excuse of a Moon. Is that what happened? Not exactly. But that’s what Moon thinks is happening.

It’s really not hard to understand the character’s motivations, and it helps inform the conflicts they go through. No wonder Nexus hates Moon, and Moon hates Nexus! They both represent each other’s worst nightmare. Moon fears his own cowardice, and betraying his family. Nexus fears being abandoned for making mistakes. Who’s in the right? Doesn’t matter! It’s not supposed to be a tale of morality. It’s more like reality TV. It’s okay to like Moon. It’s okay to like Nexus! But it doesn’t make sense to call everyone a “hero” or a “villain”.

I’m so excited to share the personal project I’ve been working on for the last few weeks, making the some of tsams cast out of polymer clay!

So for a little context, last Christmas I was gifted a huge amount of polymer oven bake clay in a rainbow of different colors and had no idea what to do with it until a friend suggested to try and sculpt sun and moon. Two adorable clay figures later it was decided that I’d try to sculpt the whole family (as well as the non canon villain family members). Two weeks later now I’ve got 14 figures to share pictures of. I absolutely loved doing this, between the wacky antics of sculpting baking and painting to the finished work I’ve had so much fun. Unfortunately tumblr only lets me post ten picture at a time but I’ve got a bunch of pictures of these little guys as well as some fun in progress photos I’m gonna share eventually.

Something to note about the figures is I opted for all of them to have cat paw toe beans instead of normal shoes and a few of the characters whom wear night caps (moon, kc , bloodmoon2, ruin and nexus ) all have real metal bells at the end of their caps and one of my favorite details is jacks candy corn patches and hat charm.

I should also mention these guys are really tiny, lunar’s head is the size of an m&m candy

Love the fact that the killcode seems to be so easily influenced by kindness, more often than not

KC was evil. Then Glamrock Freddy was nice to him, and he started changing

Eclipse was evil, then Earth started being nice to him, and he changed, too

Solar, who'd also be partially made from his Moon's killcode, could've been feral and an absolute menace, but his Sun showed him kindness and acceptance, and he mellowed out

TEAPS Moon's killcode only spikes when he gets mad or someone mistreats him and Sun. If people are nice to both of them though, he's completely fine

The only person who had at least a portion of the killcode in them and stayed evil was probably Bloodmoon. Bloodmoon had multiple chances to change, but he chose not to, even after Sun tried to extend the figurative olive branch

We don't know what the story behind FFNAF Eclipse/Clipsie is yet, so I can't say anything regarding her, aside from that whatever happened post accidental creation/awakening, led to her considering Sunny and Moonie as her sisters

Nexus,,, I can't speak for him either, since he doesn't have a killcode. When Moon and KC split, KC physically left and went into another body, left no traces of himself or his code behind

I think Ruin mentioned having a killcode at one point, but I'm not sure. I'd have to do a bunch of digging to find out, but that'd take an ungodly long time

So apparently, if you wanna tame befriend someone who has a killcode in them, the best way to do that would simply be repeated, prolonged exposure to people who will be kind and patient with them
