Not the same guy but since the rate feature is random it wouldn't necessarily mean popular artists 100% get this spot. It simply wouldn't work tho because the rate feature is wayyy too random so it basically would just be whoever is lucky enough to be shown to the most people (especially since I think most people don't skip).

"Where's the Ulterior Spectacle remake?"

I know i've gotten this a ton of times, and seeing how it's been a couple years since i said it'd exist, i decided i'd give all of my reasons why it's taking So Damn Long. hopefully, this'll reduce the amount of... hate? judgement?? i keep getting regarding this song.

1) The only reason I SHOULD be giving: the simple fact that I am working on an immense universe

I'm not working on JUST Stars Below, and even THEN, a remake has the lowest priority of all when it comes to new Stars Below songs, character development, design solidification, etc. I'd rather solidify the world and story FIRST before making a remake that might swiftly become outdated once again if I rush it. This is also why songs IN GENERAL have been slow; I'm refining the story. It's a HUGE WIP.

I'm not a company, I'm One Single Person with OCs on the internet. If I don't work on one singular aspect, I'm sorry? I guess? That leads into...

2) I'm so immensely stressed at the moment that I'm having physical health issues and can't reliably/consistently work on things

Like I still CAN draw, but completed PVs are so high-effort (and risk), low-reward for me right now that I have to make smaller things. That's why I'm focusing on Artfight for now. On top of that, I'm gonna try to get another term of college this year so I can accomplish something tangible in my life and get a degree. (College is ALSO why stuff's been slow)

If you want to know WHAT my health issues are, all you need to know is that I've got visible ribs yet my weight is constantly depleting.

3) People keep reuploading my stuff

People keep taking things from my Discord server and reuploading them on sites like Youtube. If I don't upload something, I do not want it uploaded, plain and simple. No, I am not free game just because I'm on the internet. I'm just an independent artist and not a company, and this is breaking several boundaries of mine.

If you claim it's "out of fan love" or "giving me free promotion", it doesn't change the fact it makes me (and even my community) exceedingly uncomfortable. The big one being reuploaded was Tundra Lens, and while I did make it public again, it was solely to appease the reuploaders. Please don't reupload my stuff.

It's killing my motivation and drive for the Ulterior Spectacle remake.

4) Multiple abusers in my life

I won't dive into this one but just know that, behind the scenes, I have been treated like a goddamn ragdoll. I have been treated like an object by both strangers and people extremely close to me, and I'm drained, man.

These events have been adding to my current status of being physically ill and chronically fatigued.

5) I am currently being stalked by a group who hates me and intentionally mocks me

A certain group of individuals (who will remain unnamed) are currently stalking me, gathering my creations, and making a complete mockery of a project that intends to break all of the universal rules I have crafted. I don't mind if you don't know everything about my universe; it's a lot, after all, and I'm more than happy to educate.

However, this group intends on making a complete mockery of not only my universe but also my art. It is out of malice and not parody. Due to this, I'm almost too scared to post anything, really. I don't want this to stop me, but damn it does it sting. I'll ride this out with god-rivaling perseverance if I have to.

Now....

While all of this is there, I'll also say the remake IS NOT cancelled. I'll be dead before it's cancelled. But I just wanted to give some perspective a little bit, and maybe- if you're someone mad about the lack of the remake so far- you'll understand why a little more.

Just please respect my boundaries for things, don't drum up drama with me, and leave me in peace. That's all I ask. One day this song'll be completed, and it'll be a day where I'm no longer treated as some soulless machine.

By unpopular demand, my Art Journey this year! More about it under the cut if someone wants sentimental stuff.

At the start of this year, I found myself offering incredibly affordable commissions – we're talking about 50 cents per hour of artistic effort. However, after just a month, I experienced burnout and made the decision to take a break from using art as my sole means of making a living.

What followed from mid-March to the end of the year was a period of profound self-exploration. I immersed myself in various creative pursuits without fixating on algorithms or popular hashtags. I simply drew what I wanted to draw, leading to an abundance of Ceres art, as you can see.

Participating in Artfight, coupled with my newfound love for Baldur's Gate, brought about unexpected turns. Tumblr embraced my doodles, despite its aversion to my colored drawings. Initially, I didn't expect to showcase any colorful pieces from September to now, but here they are, and I'm pleasantly surprised ♥.

As I contemplate my position in this artistic journey, I may or may not open commission doodles for February. (Simply because my laundry-machine broke -sobs-) Regardless, my primary focus is ensuring that I draw because I genuinely want to.

Acknowledging that artistic growth may not be achievable as a career path has granted me a freedom I deeply cherish. I draw because I enjoy it, and that, to me, is everything I could have hoped for.

To fellow artists: Your skill doesn't necessitate monetization. It doesn't demand a specific number of followers or likes. I assure you, having one dedicated follower who engages with your work is infinitely more valuable than pursuing an arbitrary number.

Ultrakill ocs that are now on artfight! Endurance (mindflayer) got badly damaged in Wrath, and was saved by the ferryman Evangelyn. Now it works on her ship that’s constantly on the brink of sinking. These two were created solely because I wanted to make a himbo mindflayer a month ago.

My Artfight is Rockybloo and I'm also on team Werewolf because it'd be illegal if I weren't with all my werelike OCs I love to make. Even Gulo, my main vampire man, is basically a werewolf that sucks blood.

The only characters I got up for this year are Jack, Nana, Nova, Pluto, Sweetheart aaand Bitterbat because those are the six OCs that make me the happiest to see.

Her name is Maeve di Angelucci, the sole princess of the Italian monarchy in my little universe ^q^ She's (un)happily married to her yandere hubby, Noël von Weissmann ♡

To sum it up, he's an angel (as a race, rather than a 'divine religious being') and told the King and Queen of a false prophecy that their daughter would be taken away on her 18th birthday and killed so they raised her in total captivity from the outside world. while he made his schemings to steal the German crown prince's identity and plan to get married to her since her hand would be offered much earlier (ye olden times, at 14) so they could avoid the prophecy. but he's the menace here! and he killed all the other candidates. oopsie

Although their marriage is a very disturbing and manipulative one, I still like to imagine some rare casual moments between them. They mostly occur later, when she's past 24 (which is when she finally mentally breaks and gives in for this sick love and becomes equally yandere). Did I say? I feel that every day I co-host with XIV longer and the more “in harmony” I get with him, the more progressively “Genki” trope I get. Like on one hand, its cause honest to god having him as co-host has made HUGE improvements to my stress levels and quality of life cause fuck whatever I was doing before and fuck being a solo host, but also cause like...

I dunno if anyone following this blog has noticed solely from the blog, but XIV is an aggressive piss ant a lot of the time with a lot of universally destructive issues - his own words not mine - and a lot of the time our therapist has brought up that parts in DID tend to “balance each other out” if one acts one way, the other tends to do the other

And I’m like.... the more I’m around this bitch the more I act in a more healthy way of being “Genki” for a lack of better words. Like man, the past few months I picked up “^^” into my regular texting vernacular, and I just fucking posted to art fight with the “>3>” emoji. 

Like thats a different situation cause I am chronically fixated on art fight and preparing for artfight 24/7 365 days a year and someone had complimented my OCs that are my CHILDREN that I’ve been writing for over eight years and drawing for three so like, fair based understandable me

Tbh I think a large part of it is that I think I as a part always really struggled with wanting to be edgy and “cool” like Aderis and all, and being really confused with how I was both very edgy and angsty but then also like *literal fluffball* and I think better understanding XIV has me going “ohhhhh I was *never* edgy cool and he was always the edgy cool guy ohhhhh” then I pause and go “OH SO THEN I CAN JUST BE MY HYPER PASSIONATE GENKI ASS BECAUSE THATS WHAT I AM AND THATS COOL”

Like full admission, I always *really* wanted to be cool and edgy but I’m just really really really really not. And its not a huge “trauma” thing but like, I dunno a coming to terms that I assume I should have figured out in highschool but didn’t cause trauma.

It’s fine anyways, XIV has enough edgy coolness to drown a planet and make it uninhabitable anyways /j /lh

They both stepped down/out of the spotlight after shit hit the fan (aka they get called out) and when anyone has any form of criticism, those who don't know white knight their creation because the one in charge know that people who have problems will back away, not allowing any sort of valid criticism until a majority of people inevitably have an unresolved issue with things. i wont go into excruciating detail about any of this, but i figured i should give a warning regardless

i dont remember if ive ever posted art of him on tumblr but those whove seen my artfight profile may have seen this boyo before

have you ever wondered, "hey atticus, what the hell is up with the scar? like half his face is missing!" well it all has to do with my boy's duterogonist tragic backstory (tm)

born theodore maddison, theo lived through a happy early childhood. his parents, while not terribly wealthy, still had plenty of money at their disposal and had no issues spoiling the kid. he had no siblings, but he got along well with his classmates and had plenty of friends.

one summer, when he was just about to turn seven, him and his parents got into a car wreck in which none of them survived. however, theo was destined to become a member of the Great Prophecy, so obviously he couldnt stay dead forever, and who better to revive him than the magical embodiment of death itself?

reaper (the magic he was destined to obtain) suddenly becomes aware that its destined user has perished and rushes to see if it can fix things. unfortunately, it realised what had happened and where they were buried way too late, so the souls of his parents had already deteriorated and their spirits moved on. and theo, being a small child and thus having a stronger soul, was close enough to complete death that reaper had to act fast. it worked, but at the cost of his soul being fractured

reaper also teleported his body above ground and held him close to try to keep him warm while he slowly woke up

theo had no idea what the hell just happened. all he knew was that he was weak, freezing, kinda hungry, and in the arms of some kind of magical entity. he was certainly afraid, but he was too exhausted to panic. reaper was still able to sense it and, via telepathy, tried to assure him that everything was going to be okay

...yeah emphasis on tried because things were certainly not okay. for one, while reaper did what it could to heal his physical injuries sustained from the crash, it was unable to completely heal the side of his face that had gotten practically torn off, and the incomplete healing left him with a huge scar and some exposed bone, though it was able to restore his eye. in fact, a lot of the spells reaper tried to cast were unable to be completed because of the soul issue. if it were to push too much, it could accidentally break it further, which would render the revival process null. secondly, as the duo came to learn, a fractured soul does a lot worse than fuck with spells used on the person; theo will occasionally be hit with spells of dizziness, his body will become extremely cold, and he'll lose the ability to breath all at the same time. thankfully, reaper is able to keep the poor kid from re-dying, and they eventually learned that this stuff is often triggered by extreme stress or a magic overpower

over the coming years, the two grew closer, reaper being theo's sole protector. it also tried to fix the soul issue, but to no avail, so instead it made a promise that as soon as hes ready to accept it as his magic, it will do everything in its power to protect him. (it was going to do that anyway tho but it figured it would be more successful acting as an internal force than an external one)

little baby theo lived on the streets for a while, not knowing how to get back home and eventually giving up. reaper acted as his mentor, teaching him what was edible and what wasnt, how to avoid people, how to use shapeshifting to hide the scar, and how to steal food without getting caught. he didnt last long before being spotted and sent to an orphanage, however

a few years later, when he was 12, he was adopted by ash's family. from them, he met new friends like lucas and his soon-to-be boyfriend ray as well as their older sisters, callie and dee-dee. callie was the first to realise he was also a prophecy member, though that didnt happen until he was 15

around that time, dee-dee and callie would get in fights a lot, most often with callie initiating them. theo, trusting dee-dee over callie, sided with her in pretty much any dispute, especially if it was Prophecy-related. during one of their fights, callie tried to hit dee-dee with magic and missed in a fit of rage, accidentally hitting theo right in his eye instead. she ended up completely burning it, to the point that reaper was unable to salvage it at the time

so now theo's half-blind, though he managed to work out an arrangement with reaper to grant it the ability to see out of its replacement for the eye so long as theo keeps control over its movements and reaper sends him information about what it sees when needed

another neat little thing is that the symbol in the eye changes based on his emotions. the default is an "x" because theo said so (pirate special interest go brrrrrrr)

Does anyone else get MASSIVE artfight scandal vibes from goatlings? Artfight has been run entirely on donations, it barely got any updates and it was incredibly stressful for the small volunteer team who were under the assumption that there wasn't enough money to pay them or improve the crumbling site. It was revealed that they actually had a massive surplus of money that could've been put into improving the site, but it was just left alone except for the owner taking a sole cut of the money. A bunch of staff quit because the owner did have enough money to improve the code to help the team do their jobs but neglected them in favor of keeping the site fraying at the seams. I have a sickly suspicion that the same thing is happening to goatlings, considering the massive amounts of money people dump into mm especially. At the very least we have tip a mod, but I really think Kris should be open with the amount of money the site makes and how much of it actually goes into the site
