F1 medicine - HANS deviceÂ
Guess who's back with some more F1 medicine and science
Taglist: @callsign-swan @ice-man-goes-bwoah @scuderia-piastri @foreveralbon @vroomvroomcircuit

Early concept of the HANS device, NASCAR HANS device and Max Verstappen wearing his device.
HANS stands for head and neck support - in short this device was created to minimise the effects of the extreme g-force the drivers put their body through. This is not the only benefit, during crashes the extra support this device offers can reduce the risk of drivers suffering severe or fatal head and neck injuries such as basilar skull injuries.Â
Prior to this invention, the most common cause of death in high-speed motorsports was craniovertebral (head and neck) injuries. This device was created by Dr Robert Hubbard, a biomedical engineer and his brother in law Jim Downing who was a race car driver after their friend Patrick Jacquemart died in 1981. The idea behind this device was to reduce and prevent injuries caused by the neck forward bending and causing injury during high-speed impacts. The force experienced during a crash, such as the ones experienced in F1 are often 3 times the amount required for catastrophic injury alone, so this device is quite literally saving lives everyday.Â
Despite this device being created and sold in the 1980’s the FIA didn’t pick it up until the deaths of Ayrton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger. It was only in 2003 that it was introduced and mandated in F1.Â
Since its introduction it has saved countless lives including Robert Kubica in Canada, 2007 who crashed into a barrier with the force of 75G. Though, the exact number is unknown as it is often quite hard to prove with the safety measures in place whether this is due to the device itself. That being said since it’s introduction and mandatory usage in NASCAR there has not been a death since Dale Earnhart in 2001.Â
The device itself is pretty simple - it is lightweight to benefit the driver in both car weight and comfort and is made of carbon fibre. It is custom for each driver - so no two are the same and are not interchangeable. Its U shape is designed to fit around the back of the drivers neck with the two arms coming over the shoulders and chest. The HANS device is secured onto the drivers helmet which acts almost like a seatbelt to reduce whiplash. The device itself is designed to distribute any force from the neck onto the neck and shoulders to reduce spinal injury. These devices prevent the driver suffering severe effects and injury that can be caused by whiplash from spinal cord injury to coup-contrecoup injury (basically the brain hitting one side of the skull and then bouncing back and hitting the other side) and subarachnoid hemorrhage (bleeding between the brain and the thin layer surrounding the brain).Â
The threshold where severe injury to the head and neck are caused is around 740 lbs (the neck stretching) and 700 lbs for neck sheer (the neck moving forward). During testing, a crash without the HANS device had forces of around 1120 lbs and 750 lbs - way above the threshold for injury and death. With the device, the force and shear on a drivers’ neck was 210 lbs each meaning injury would be significantly reduced in the event of a crash.Â
Funky diagram belowÂ

Lily is totally left guys.
Lily Orchard: I'm totally against capitalism it's evil.
Also Lorch: These drugs have a bad reputation unless I'm the one who decides to take them. Also addicts just spawned in addicts it's their fault.* Completely ignores the two huge pill tragedies that spawned both drug out breaks. Ignores that the pharmacusal industry is a billion dollar industry funded by the government. Ignores that doctors were paided to push oxycodine during an economic Reccestion and a rocky time due to it being Bush's administration. Ignores the women forced on amphetamine because they had to conform to unrealistic beauty standard so their husband can have a perfect LOOKING wife. And when she couldn't handle the amphetamine just give them Valium. Then they got hit with the hell that was 70's America and caused the cocaine/ crack epidemic that targeted black people. And has caused untold damage to their communities and culture. Ignores how mental health and tragedy and PTSD play into addiction. Spreads old propaganda made up by the LUMBER and OIL industries to get rid of hemp so their capitalistic empires would have no competition as the part you don't smoke can be used to make paints, toilet paper, paper, etc. Spreads old American propaganda about weed that has very strong roots in the anti Mexican racism of the late 1800's- early 1900's. Used a family member's death as a shield when she gets criticism and is proven wrong. Dehumanizes addicts the same way people like Donald Trump and Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon did.
Lily would make Reagan proud. I get that not everyone has the time to look into the huge problem that capitalism has done to the medical system. But if you don't understand then shut the fuck up. Because by talking out your ass your hurting the victims and helping shield the companies who did this and are already trying it again with Adderall and Xanax. Lily you are literally spewing right wing talking points. You claim you hate capitalism but no you don't. You hate the systems that don't benefit you. But you happily spread their propaganda like the good little puppet you are. Stuff like marijuana has it problems but talk about it's actually problems not the shit made up to go after Mexicans or the propaganda made up by lumber and oil industries so they could build their capitalistic empires. Banning weed has only benefited the systems you hate so much. And hurt the people you claim to care about/ be a part of. Idk a lot on the subject but in America, Native communities have huge drug problems because of government systems. The very people you dress up as are being hurt by you spreading this garbage. But hey you are immun to propaganda and are the smartest person in the room aren't you. Who cares about the victims you are helping burry. Who cares about the families of all races destroyed by capitalistic greed of the billion dollar pharmaceutical industry. You got your pain pills.
"So let's all do drugs and waste away and die. That's what they want. So what ever you want they will precipice it. No matter how high you get.... They put it in your brain that it is the solution. For depression, weight loss, spinal contusion. So take this better yet take two ."
Edit. I am Mexican American Lily. So judging by how you hold people with darker skin's voices as word of God or something (as seen in your SU videos). You by your own morals can't argue with me on this. As my community was hit the hardest by anti weed bullshit. But because I don't agree with you and you can't fetishize me you will probably go full trump supporter and start calling me a border jumper, or a half breed, or other non slur, racist remarks. Just like you did with that Bisexual guy who made a video on why your pokemon takes are ass.

I decided to expand more on how the toys function in the KN8/Poppy Playtime crossover. This involves not only their biology but what changes Playtime Co utilized to handle kaiju or Defense Force members getting too close to their business.
For those not familiar with Poppy Playtime or need a refresher, I'll give you a short explanation on what goes on. A unique living toy by the name of Poppy was discovered and some workers from the toy company, Playtime Co., decide to capitalize on it. They wanted to recreate the process that made her.
Reasons range between profit, free workforce to seeking immortality. Humans from volunteering adults to orphan children were used in insidious experiments to create living toys. Like expected, one day their creations revolt and everyone present in the factory that day mysteriously disappeared. This is essentially the game's story in a nutshell.
Now how Playtime Co. turns people into toys in the original game is quite something. The main procedure involves a very advanced transplant. It starts by carefully removing the central nervous system alongside vital organs like the heart from the human body.
If you don't know what the nervous system is, it primarily consists of the brain, spinal cord and nerves. Parts responsible for moving the body, process pain, thinking, etc. All these components are carefully transplanted inside a toy body and then revived using a unique poppy gas.
The scientists of Playtime Co. believed the flower held regenerative properties so it was incorporated in the resurrection process. Age often factors in on how the newly made toy acts. Children tend to retain their identity or memories but adults are reduced to a blank confused state.
Toys are functionally ageless since their bodies aren't made to decay and withstand the test of time unlike humans. However there is a big drawback, they need to eat much more than the average person but also feel pain. If a toy doesn't eat for too long then predatory behavior is bound to happen and cannibalism lands on the table.
There are two types of toys. Small ones which are the standard size like normal plushies. They tend to display the most animalistic behavior such as whining, growling, walking on all fours, etc. Small toys will use pack dynamics to take down larger targets.
The second type are the Bigger Bodies. Massive living toys that tend to be twice or thrice the size of a normal human. Bigger Bodies often display unusual abilities unlike their smaller counterparts such as breathing sleepy gas or stretching and compacting their bodies. They also have a tendency to have more inhuman body frames like the predatory jack-in-the-box Boxy Boo for example.
All toys are ambush type predators in a sense. Often laying traps, stalking targets from the shadows, misdirection by standing still like statues and attacking when the target least expects it. Now we can move onto Kaiju No. 8 parts.
Due to kaiju existing in this universe, Playtime Co. had to alter the toys quite a bit. Not only did they want them to be more lifelike but more durable to survive kaiju attacks for customers and defend against said monsters that get too close to the factory. Thus Playtime Co. decided to steal some inspiration from the Defense Force.
With how the toys are made, incorporating the functions of the kaiju fiber suits was much easier. A mix between blood, muscle fibers, and even bone fragments were added to each one. Every toy can draw out the benefits of the mentions Defense Force equipment.
Heightened regeneration, increased durability, enhanced speed and obviously boosting their power. Compared to Defense Force issued kaiju fiber suits, the toys give out a stronger output by 1.5x. If a DF suit and a toy exerted 10%, the toy is essentially running on 15% in the former's standard thanks to the boost.
There are a few problems though. All the toys cannot exactly handle going past a certain output of power. Should they do so then the individual will enter a berserker state and viciously attack anything that moves.
Normal toys can only handle 10% on average while Bigger Bodies can unleash 30%. To make sure their experiments don't have any bright ideas, a special device was installed by Playtime Co. An Output Blocker that prevents toys from exerting more than 2% but also activates and controls their berserker modes.
The device has another function which shut down Defense Force member's suits alongside radio equipment. A failsafe in case the military of any kind decides to snoop around the factory. Not the first time they had to make somebody disappear for knowing too much.
There is one last drawback to the toy's kaiju fiber bodies. All of them contain dormant mutagenic properties that can only activate if genetic material from a 9.0 fortitude or higher kaiju is introduced. Should it happen, a toy will begin to undergo a metamorphosis.
They begin to gorge themselves on kaiju meat and blood. All these materials begin to replace the artificial innards of the unaware toy in question as a new body forms inside. Once they've eaten enough, the individual will try to go into a secluded area.
Their new kaiju body soon emerges from the now empty artificial skin, taking a hybrid appearance of their old toy body mixed with their donor(9.0+ kaiju). A newly reborn individual is quite weak upon emerging and needs some time to regain their strength. This is why they seek an isolated place before an emergence.
Signs of a toy about to undergo a metamorphosis are an increase in appetite, bigger preference for kaiju meat or blood, feeling itchy under their hide, increased aggression and uncharacteristic desire to explore. All transformed individuals are 10% human than a complete kaiju. The remnants from what they originally used to be before Playtime Co's experiments.
Normal toys are reborn into whelps rather than full grown ones. Their minds function closer to a human infant's and will grow like one but with kaiju instincts. Sometimes a Bigger Body will be reborn as a whelp if their mind had sustained too much mental/psychology trauma.
Bigger Bodies who are stable have one extra phase before their metamorphosis is truly complete. They will undergo a second growth two weeks after as the remainder of their kaiju body like the core finally manifests. You can compare the newly emerged form to a temporary juvenile stage that leads to the final 'product'. They retain their mind and personality but do report they can now 'think clearer'.
Implementing a limiter before a toy enters the metamorphosis can stop the process. However if a toy goes past their limit then they risk the transformation not only restarting but accelerating through rapid regeneration. A fully metamorphosed individual who undergoes the process this way emerges in a berserker state and needs to be subdued for everyone's safety.
It takes a day for them to regain consciousness with their sanity back but will need assistance for the next few days as they're more drained than if the process happens normally. An extra week is also added for their eventual second metamorphosis. The body needs more time to recover due to all the stress.
I can say that at least two or three toys will undergo a metamorphosis before Kafka realizes what's really happening. He has written down all the important details about the toys' biology in order to take care of them if they get hurt and possibly sick. It's gonna take awhile before he can reach that page in his coded notebook.
Checking his kaiju's fortitude should've been the first thing he did after turning and Kafka is mentally kicking himself for it.
If you want look deeper into Poppy Playtime then this page has everything lore/ARG wise from Ch3 and you can find the current Ch4 ARG progress here.

How Much Compensation for a Back Injury at Work?
Getting hurt on the job is never part of the plan, but workplace accidents happen. And when they do, back injuries are among the most common—whether it's from lifting something heavy, slipping on a wet floor, or simply moving the wrong way. The big question on your mind? How much compensation can you expect for a work-related back injury?
The answer isn’t as straightforward as you might hope. Several factors come into play, like the severity of your injury, medical expenses, lost wages, and the workers’ compensation laws in your state.Â
Understanding Workers’ Compensation for Back Injuries
Workers’ compensation is designed to cover injuries that happen while you're doing your job. If your back injury occurred at work, you’re likely entitled to benefits—but the amount and type of compensation depend on a few key things:
Medical Expenses – Your employer’s insurance should cover doctor visits, physical therapy, medications, and even surgery if necessary.
Lost Wages – If your injury forces you to take time off, you may receive a percentage of your regular paycheck.
Permanent Disability Benefits – If your back injury leads to long-term or permanent damage, you could be eligible for ongoing financial support.
The tricky part? Not all cases are treated equally. If your injury is minor and you recover quickly, your claim might cover just your medical bills and a short time off work. But if it’s severe—like a herniated disc or spinal cord damage—you could be looking at a much larger settlement.
What Determines Your Compensation Amount?
Back injury settlements vary widely, but a few major factors influence how much you can receive:
Severity of the Injury
The more serious the injury, the higher the compensation. A simple muscle strain that heals in a few weeks won’t have the same payout as a spinal fracture that requires surgery and months of rehab.
Mild injuries (muscle strain, minor sprain): Typically covered for medical costs and a brief period of lost wages.
Moderate injuries (herniated discs, nerve damage): May involve longer medical treatment and more time off work.
Severe injuries (spinal cord damage, surgery-required conditions): Can result in permanent disability benefits and higher settlements.
Impact on Your Work Ability
If your back injury prevents you from doing your regular job—or any job—your compensation will likely be higher. Workers’ comp takes into account whether:
You can return to work with restrictions (e.g., no heavy lifting).
You need to switch to a lower-paying job because of your injury.
You can’t work at all, resulting in permanent total disability.
Medical Expenses and Future Treatment
Back injuries often require ongoing treatment, from physical therapy to potential surgeries down the road. Your settlement should account for both current and future medical costs—but insurance companies may try to downplay this.
Whether a Settlement or Weekly Payments Are Offered
Some workers’ comp cases result in a lump sum settlement, while others provide ongoing payments. If you opt for a one-time payout, make sure it covers all expected future expenses—because once you accept, there’s no going back.
Common Back Injury Settlements and Payouts
There’s no universal number when it comes to back injury compensation, but some general patterns exist:
Minor injuries (temporary strain, pulled muscle): Medical bills covered, plus a few weeks of lost wages.
Herniated discs or nerve damage: Can lead to five- or six-figure settlements, depending on severity.
Permanent disability cases: Typically see the largest settlements or lifetime benefits.
Keep in mind—insurance companies will try to minimize payouts. That’s why having legal representation often makes a difference in securing a fair settlement.
Can You Sue for a Workplace Back Injury?
Workers’ compensation is usually a no-fault system, meaning you don’t have to prove your employer was negligent. But it also means you generally can’t sue your employer directly.
However, there are exceptions:
If a third party (like a contractor or equipment manufacturer) was responsible for your injury, you might have a separate lawsuit on top of workers’ comp.
If your employer acted with gross negligence or intentionally put you in harm’s way, a personal injury claim could be possible.
This is where an experienced attorney comes in—they can help you determine whether workers’ comp is your only option or if a lawsuit is possible.
Steps to Take After a Back Injury at Work
If you hurt your back on the job, what you do next can impact your compensation. Here’s what you should prioritize:
Report the injury immediately – Tell your employer and file a workers’ compensation claim as soon as possible. Waiting too long could jeopardize your benefits.
Seek medical attention – Even if it seems minor, get checked out by a doctor. Back injuries can worsen over time, and having documentation is critical.
Follow your treatment plan – Skipping appointments or ignoring your doctor’s recommendations can hurt your claim.
Keep records – Save copies of medical reports, bills, and any communication about your injury.
Consider legal advice – If your claim is denied or your settlement offer seems low, talking to a lawyer could be a smart move.
Final Thoughts
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer to how much compensation you’ll get for a back injury at work. It depends on your injury’s severity, medical costs, time off work, and long-term effects on your ability to earn a living.
One thing’s for sure—workers’ comp insurance companies are in the business of paying out as little as possible. That’s why knowing your rights and getting the right legal support can make all the difference. If you’re dealing with a work-related back injury, don’t settle for less than you deserve.

Vengeance of the All-Devourer: Viridian City Attack
//ooc: Transcript of a Discord RP with the mun of @moonlit-faller.
Kaladin Sylphrena Dr. Ratio
As Kaladin is traveling through Viridian City, they hear a commotion outside the resturant they were in next to the Trainer House. When they look out the window, they see the entire sky has turned an evil purple color, with fast-moving red clouds - wait, those aren't clouds... those are body segments. The concern of the citizens swiftly turns to panic, as black and purple monsters drop from the sky and begin attacking the city mercilessly, going after person and pokemon alike
Looks like it's gonna be one of those days
The clouds reminded him of the Everstorm. That was strange, that wasn't supposed to be outside of Roshar... His gaze dropped to the monsters, taking no time to get into combat.
Syl! I need a spear! On it!
The spren transformed into its Sylspear form. She had no idea what was going on, and to be frank, neither did Kaladin. But they swore oaths to protect, and that wasn't limted to Roshar. A powerful opponent like Kaladin is sure to attract the monsters' attentions, which has benefits and drawbacks. Fortunately they seem, as a rule, less intelligent than the V-Corp forces and Wily robots that attacked this world earlier. He was immensely grateful for that, the spear tearing through them at the soul level. The only question was the amount of them. He could fly up, but that beast was just too big for a direct attack like that. he biggest issue near him seems to be one in the center of a group of sword wielders that's firing off triple-element beams (like tri-attack) at everything it can see
Well. That's a fun one. The biggest issue here was conserving Light. Thunderstones weren't nearly as prevalent as Stormlight was (he was missing the Highstorms of his home world at this point), and without access to the other Spren, he was functionally at the same strength as his Third Ideal, just with stronger Surges and an easier time holding the Light. Obviously, this meant flight was less of an option, though he could use Gravitation on something else. He cut a large chunk of stone from the ground, Lashing it to make it almost weightless. It was a terrible shield, but it was the best option he had at the moment. This would at least protect him from the attacks (though he could heal the damage with Light, but that would drain his reserves). The Shadowglass Gaze notices he takes a bit longer to be destroyed than most of what else it's been shooting, and it seems annoyed about that. Thanks to the earthy shield, its beams don't work as well as it would like, so instead it must be opting for claws, and it's faster than it looked.
The stone shield shattered under the strength of the claws, but that was enough time to stab the damn thing. A stab with a Shardblade wasn't nearly as lethal as a slice, unfortunately, which made using it as a spear a bit less useful. Poking a hole in something's soul was less effective than just severing it at the spinal cord (if it even had one). This thing had the weirdest soul he had ever stabbed, the closest comparison would be some spirit version of antimatter (so like an anti-soul?), but regardless, whatever the technics of it were, Kaladin's attack did something, as the Gaze sharply recoiled. Kaladin has only a moment to get his bearings before a pillar falls from the sky and topples toward him. Kaladin didn't expect the pillar, but he knew what to do. He Lashed himself leftwards, and suddenly "East" became "Up," dragging him out of the way of the toppling stone tower. The pillar apparently didn't come from a Shadowglass, but a Faller (or similar) - Dr. Ratio of the Unseen Shield. He looks around, apparently not seeing Kal, before blasting a few weaker Shadowglass with chalk laced in some kind of Light-element energy. Kaladin speared a couple monsters getting closer to them. He didn't know exactly who this person was, but to be honest, he wasn't going to reject the extra help.
You nearly crushed me
But I did not, and I believe we both have more pressing issues to see to
Ratio goes back to blasting Shadowglass. Kaladin couldn't say he much liked this one's attitude, but desperation made for strange bedfellows. He could work with this at least.
Just watch where you're dropping those things, alright? Also, do we know anything about what these are, or where they came from?
Hmph. A critical thinker would likely reason that they followed in the wake of Quantuvour, as under normal circumstances these entities self-contain to the Maze of Gates.
No idea what either of those are, but if someone does, that's all that matters right now.
Kaladin shrugged, felling another creature. None of those sounded familiar, but then again he was from Roshar. Nothing here sounded familiar. The Dr. hmphs, but any retort is blocked by a massive THUD!!!!!! as a huge spike drops from Quantuvour and embeds in the road away from the Trainer House. Kaladin approached the spike, laying a hand on it. He imbued it with Stormlight, and "Up" became "Down," flipping the spike over and sending it back into the sky. With how big the spike is, it takes a LOT of Stormlight, but it works. The spike rushes up, and in short order the whole sky shudders. Looks like these things are only meant to go one way when shooting down (perhaps they regrow after a planet is eaten?). Kaladin smiled slightly. It was a lot bigger than even a Thunderclast, but it could definitely take damage. That was good. More spikes drop. They seem to be falling in a circle - trying to ring in the Trainer House. Kaladin rushed the spikes, cutting them with the Sylspear. He needed to conserve Light, but he could cut them at least.
If I had enough Stormlight I could fly up there and cut through it. Guess you don't have any way to open a Perpendicularity, do you? If we did, do you not think we would have tried that? Unless you have other Radiants in your group, the Light would be useless to you. Hence why we do not possess such means
Dr. Ratio was likely about to make another snide comment but was instead punched in the jaw by a flying hand-shaped Shadowglass

If not for the fact that this was trying to kill them, he would have thanked the hand. This man's tone was insufferable. He ignored the hands for now, focusing more on the spikes. They wouldn't be dropping if they weren't important. Just because he didn't know what they did didn't mean he wanted to let them be. To make matters worse, the spikes, which more were hitting, seemed to be blocking means of escape, and the Shadowglass seemed to be spawning from them. The hand that punched Ratio turns and starts blasting at Kaladin. Seeing that they were spawning the monsters, he expedited cutting them down (or at least trying to), using them as cover to avoid getting hit by the blasts But .the spikes keep falling, and little Kaladin does mars them (aside from that one gravity trick).
Eventually they form a ring around the area, trapping everyone who hadn't already escaped in the area. A purple glow then starts to fill the area. A tremendous cracking is heard, and the tower lifts into the air, ground it's on and all. Kaladin couldn’t save the house, but the people he could. He took out a Thunderstone, breathing in the Light. This would be enough. He Lashed himself upwards, into the ring, Lashing others out and landing them on the ground. That was almost all of his Light, though. He had to be increasingly sparing until he could get more. Thanks to Kaladin, most people caught in the ascent are ferried off, but there does come a point where the journey down and up becomes too great on his light, and he has to stop on the rising mote of earth. Up, up, and up the area around the Trainer House goes. Into the sky, into orbit, into space, up to a massive hole that opened in the Worm's mass. The House is taken into it as it closes, eventually coming to rest in a dark, cavernous space that fluctuates ominously, slowly moving toward a dark mote at the far (and I mean FAR) end - which all present hope against hope isn't some kind of crusher, black hole, or other harmful apparatus of digestion. The sad part was that this wasn’t the first time that he had jumped inside a large arthropod’s mouth that was trying to kill him. There wasn’t much he could do from his current position, but he raised his Shardblade up, ready to fight off anything else that came along.
Well done. You not only couldn't save everyone here, but are now in a hostile environment with, if your demeanor is to be read as accurate, an important resource at a dangerous premium
I will protect those who can’t protect themselves. An oath means nothing if you forget about it when it’s easy.
Ratio was going to retort but suddenly erupted a bright green light, a stark contrast from the dark purple of everywhere else in here. It seems to promise safety, so those in the area Kaladin couldn't save start going toward it. He looked to Ratio, raising an eyebrow.
Friends of yours?
Potentially... the glow is familiar...

Yogani of AYP: Revolutionizing Yoga for the Contemporary Seeker
Yogani is a prominent figure in the world of modern yoga and spirituality. He is the creator of Advanced Yoga Practices (AYP), a comprehensive system that integrates time-tested yoga methods into a cohesive framework designed for self-directed spiritual development. Unlike many traditional teachings, Yogani's approach emphasizes simplicity, accessibility, and effectiveness, making deep spiritual practices attainable for people of all backgrounds.
In this article, we explore the essence of Yogani of AYP, his unique contributions, and how his teachings can transform your spiritual journey.
The Vision Behind Advanced Yoga Practices (AYP)
AYP was developed to bridge the gap between ancient yogic wisdom and contemporary lifestyles. Yogani recognized that modern seekers often struggled to access authentic spiritual practices due to the complexity of traditional teachings. His solution was a practical, user-friendly system that distilled core techniques from yoga, tantra, and meditation into a structured path.
At the heart of Yogani's AYP lies the principle of "self-pacing," which encourages practitioners to progress at their own speed, ensuring safety and sustainability in their spiritual growth. This approach empowers individuals to take charge of their inner journey while avoiding burnout or imbalance.
Key Components of AYP
Deep meditation forms the foundation of Yogani’s system. This mantra-based technique quiets the mind and allows practitioners to access profound inner silence. Spinal breathing pranayama is another essential practice, balancing the body’s energy pathways and purifying the nervous system to prepare for higher states of consciousness.
Tantric methods in AYP integrate and channel sexual energy, a vital force for stability and creativity, while asanas and physical yoga play a supportive role in harmonizing the body and mind. Advanced techniques such as samyama and self-inquiry further deepen the spiritual journey, fostering clarity and unity consciousness.
The Philosophy of Yogani: Practical Spirituality
Yogani’s teachings reflect a profound commitment to practicality. He believes spiritual practices should seamlessly integrate into daily life rather than being confined to ashrams or retreats. This pragmatic approach has garnered global appeal, resonating with individuals who seek transformation while managing careers, families, and responsibilities.
One of the most striking aspects of Yogani of AYP is his anonymity. He has chosen to remain in the background, letting the teachings speak for themselves. This selfless approach underscores his philosophy: spiritual wisdom belongs to everyone, not just to a specific teacher or lineage.
Benefits of Practicing AYP
The simplicity and universality of AYP make it a life-changing practice for many. Practitioners report enhanced mental clarity, emotional balance, and spiritual awakening. Incorporating the physical and energetic aspects of yoga into daily life brings holistic growth and a deep sense of peace.
Conclusion
Yogani of AYP has revolutionized the way spiritual practices are taught and experienced. By making advanced techniques accessible to everyone, he has empowered countless individuals to embark on transformative inner journeys. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced practitioner, the teachings of AYP offer a clear and practical path to realizing your spiritual potential.

For some odd reason, I get the feeling I make Sylph - I guess, Levant - nervous. Not sure why.
I can tell her heart rate goes up when she notices me because of the Heartbeat sense. And she seems to have a weird six sense when I'm watching her because whenever I'm looking at her, I can sense her heart rate going up too.
How odd.
She has a very strange power. I commented it on before - her ability to make her strikes non-lethal to a ridiculous degree. Even if a lamppost is dented with a guy's head caught between it and her bat, all the guy suffers is blacking out and a small headache afterwards.
It doesn't quite seem like a power you get through a meta-gene. I haven't really seen magic around either, though Kunlun does have alchemy which might as well be magic. But it doesn't seem like that either though.
If it's a meta-gene, what is it exactly augmenting? Her muscles and bones to control her power? Is she somehow redirecting force while attacking - she is a martial artist and I wouldn't be surprised if it's some weird quirk of her martial art? But that's also require an ability to sense what her damage is doing to others - is her skin's nerve receptors more acute than other people's then? And also to do it in the fly likely means changes to her brain and her spinal cord too?
I could just say it's probably magic and be done with it. But that's a pretty unsatisfying answer, especially for a scientist/doctor.
I think it'd probably be rude to ask for a skin biopsy. And a muscle biopsy is probably out of the question. I don't think there's enough risk-benefit arguments in the world to perform some sort of exploratory surgery. Maybe a brain and spine MRI to see if there is anatomical changes?
All of this is just me blabbing though. Like I said, the risk-benefit to the girl is skewed very badly. Most of the tests I would need for anything definitive would be very invasive - like for neural things, that'd be a biopsy.
I'm hoping that their visit will be over soon. I'm getting weird looks from both Kunlun and the prison folk, cause it seems like Kunlun wants to recruit me too.

Can you write some pokkopikku where the two of them are just hanging out but something reminds Porco that he’s only got four years left with her? I need some angst with fluff to make up for what the anime is gonna do in a few weeks since that will only be angst :(
this is way too late but ;-;
stuck with you
pokkopikku. canonverse. 1037 words. read on ao3.
Their lives come with a expiration date that is set the moment they inherit their Titans. Strange, how they despise themselves for the demon blood that courses through their veins, and yet the children of Ymir fight tooth and nail to become one of the five Titan Shifters to defend Marley. Once the spinal fluid of the previous inheritor passes their lips, they transform into hideous monsters with horrendous powers and their lives are shortened. From that point on, they are given thirteen years left to live, but that’s only if they are fortunate enough to survive the battles they are forced to fight for Marley. Â
It had never bothered Porco before. It was something he had come to accept. As a child, he was trained to become a weapon for Marley. If he could become a Titan Shifter, it would help relieve Eldians of the sins their ancestors bore. The shortened lifespan was something he could bear if it would benefit his family and show that Eldians did indeed have value in this world despite their monstrous qualities. When Porco was passed over for the Armored Titan in favor of Reiner Braun, he filled with rage and anguish, feeling cursed to live a long, useless life compared to his comrades that had been selected. Now that he has acquired the powers of the Jaw Titan, he can see how ignorant he had been and how ungrateful he was for the time he had. Â
He had swallowed the girl called Ymir and was given thirteen years left to live. He trained to become a sufficient weapon for Marley and those thirteen years soon became eight years. Back when he was a child, five years felt like an eternity. Now, it feels to have gone by in a flash and he mourns the passage of time, but he does not grieve for himself. He grieves for her. Â
Like most of his other comrades, Pieck had received her Titan when they were hardly even ten years old. While the others — Marcel, Reiner, Bertholdt, and Annie — had been sent to Paradis to retrieve the Founding Titan, Pieck had stayed behind with Zeke to protect Marley from any threats that would come their way. Porco had found himself gravitating towards Pieck, perhaps because they had gone through the same training, and she had never minded his company. They had become accustomed to each other, and it was Pieck that had gone to him first after he was informed that he would be inheriting the Jaw Titan from the girl that had ended his older brother’s life. Â
“Isn’t it fun?” Pieck asked him jokingly. He still remembers her lounging on the couch as he read the notice from the Marleyan officials about acquiring the Jaw Titan. She kept her tone light, joking, but he could see the concern on her face as she watched him read the letter over and over. “We’ll be working together, partners in crime. It comes with a death sentence, of course, but isn’t there something comforting about knowing that we’ll spend the rest of our lives together?” Â
“I’m fortunate, but you’ll be stuck with my ugly mug for the rest of your life. Are you sure you’re going to be okay with that?” Porco muttered, but it made him feel slightly better when he heard Pieck giggle. Â
At the time, the rest of Pieck’s life had meant six years. Now, it’s four years. The time is slipping away like sand through their fingers and there’s no way to get it back or even slow its passage. He’s even more reminded of how little time they have every time he looks at Pieck. The thought of it constantly plagues him in the back of his mind no matter how much Porco tries to banish it.Â
The years as a Warrior have taken their toll on Pieck. She tries to make light of it, passing it off as her habits as the Cart Titan rubbing off on her human form. He knows that the real reason she crawls on all fours and rests so often is because she is fatigued from fighting all these years, trapped in the form of the Cart Titan for years at a time just to keep Marley safe. Even when she is resting with her eyes closed, Porco sees how tense her body is and knows she dreams of fighting even in her sleep. Â
He watches her now, her brow furrowed together as she’s curled up on the couch. She does not stir much, but she’s never really been the type to toss and turn in her sleep. He can see it all on her face: the way her face contorts, her lips purse, her eyebrows knit. He can do nothing for her, and it kills him. He cannot stop the flow of time no matter how much he wants to. The only thing he can do is reach out and grasp her hand. Her body relaxes instantly when she feels his touch, her lips parting to let out sigh.Â
Her eyes flutter open to gaze at Porco. She gazes at him with a drowsy smile. Her other hand is reaching out to him, cupping his cheek. It’s only four more years of this. Only four more years of him watching her as she sleeps, four more years of her smiling at him when she wakes, only four more years of her comforting him with her warm touch against his skin. He wonders if she’s counting down the days the way he is. Â
“Pokko,” she says. Her voice is low and syrupy from sleep. She turns her hand so the back of her fingers brush against his cheek. She reaches up to brush the pad of her thumb against his forehead, smoothing out the lines that have appeared there. “What are you thinking about?” Â
“Just how unfortunate it is that you’re stuck with a bastard like me for the rest of your life,” Porco replies. When Pieck chuckles, he can’t help the smile that appears on his face.Â
“Oh, Pokko,” Pieck laughs, and she sits up to press a kiss against his forehead. “There is no one else I would rather be stuck with.” Â

Most of you know that my wife Emmie started a water-drinking challenge on August 6th and only completed it one day. so it did not go well, but she is planning to start again on the 26th of August and hopes to complete it every day! Now, how this challenge works is Emmie has to drink a 30-z bottle of water a day before 1:00 Am to warn y'all we did not force her to do this water challenge. Her doctor recommended her since she has a spinal cord injury, and many Quadriplegics and paraplegics can benefit from drinking lots of water a day! We wanted to come on here. We will be quick to say she has continued the water drinking challenge and hopefully will complete it soon!

My Headcanon Regarding Anthony Strallan’s Shoulder Injury
I’m literally crying because this is the second time I’m writing this post. Pray it makes it this time.
Warning: Long ramble below!
Photo below for reference and ogling.
Disclaimer: I am not a medically certified Anything.

I started writing this as a Headcanon/Author’s note for an Andith one-shot I’m working on. But it’s started getting long lol so I figured it could be interesting enough to share on here!
I know there exists (somewhere) a popular fanon about Anthony’s relatives but I’ve never seen one regarding his injury (please correct me if I’m wrong of course!). Please note, that these ideas were thought up by yours truly and are only backed up by educational guesses, extensive google research, and random nerdy anatomy trivia that I have because I’m into kinesiology. Also, I’m high.
Warning: mention of bullet injuries
Anyways! Below for more!
Anthony’s injury is caused by damage to his brachial plexus which he suffered via bullet wound in the back (below the shoulder). The brachial plexus (google it, it’ll make sense when you see it) is a network of nerves that send signals from the (cervical) spinal cord, to the shoulders, arms, and hands.
The main area of damage is right next to the armpit, below the shoulder’s ball-and-socket joint. The bullet entered and exited cleanly, without hitting bone or leaving a trace behind (which is why his arm was not amputated).
While his arm is often referred to as “useless”, it is not completely paralyzed. He still has his sense of touch, but suffers from bouts of numbing, extreme weakness, and a nearly nonexistent grip. He is able to move, (especially at his elbow with the support of his left arm) but it’s so stiff and heavy that he’s better off not forcing it.
The sling is only bound around his hand, and not his whole forearm or wrist. If you think about it, a sling that supports at the hand still needs muscle support from the bicep (to keep the forearm “afloat”, if you will) - which he is clearly able to do. Otherwise, his “deadweight” would cause his wrist to bend, causing more discomfort in his hand - this is where he would benefit from a sling wrapped around his whole forearm.
The reason he prefers the sling (rather than have his arm hang at his side) is because the position prevents less numbing in his forearm and hand. If he just “deadweighted” his right arm everyday, the weight would only add pressure to the brachial plexus, causing even more numbness - his shoulder would get tired faster and would probably slouch to the right as well.
In the sling, he is better able to support the weight of his arm (again, keeping the arm “afloat”) - no compression, less numbing, and less stiffness. This also keeps his bicep “engaged” daily. The only time he removes his sling is when he sleeps and he follows a detailed stretching regimen from his doctor.
Now, in relevance to my one-shot…
Let’s just say Anthony is going down a similar path to Matthew’s recovery. Nerve damage has always been fascinating to me, so I’m excited to play around with physical therapy ideas to help Anthony heal. Full disclaimer: he will not be cured 100%. It’s just not my thing. No jabs to anyone who’s gone down this path, it’s just not my cup of tea ✌🏼(this is coming from someone who insists the bullet entered and exited cleanly without hitting bone or organs lol)
I have a feeling this one-shot could turn into something more - I was avoiding having to think of some amazing plot line but now that I think about it, I could easily just have his healing journey be the plot! I’ve already thought up a really cool doctor character too (it’s me, hi, I’m the sham it’s me). It could have really extensive medical chapters with smut in between! I kid, I kid, there’s no way I could write PT scenes without angst anyway lol. I wasn’t actually kidding about the smut though… Anyways, for now it’s just a really long one-shot - we’ll see!
Thanks so much for reading if you made it this far! If you have any questions or want to start a conversation please feel free to reblog/repost/ask/DM me (or whatever it is you kids do nowadays)❤️ hope to see you on FF!

Health Benefits of Memory Foam
Many people tout the physical health benefits of super firm inner spring mattresses because of how effective they should be for stabilizing and aligning the skeleton. What those firm bed enthusiasts don't take into account is the rest of the human body which is made up of muscles, fats, curves and bumps and that the firm mattress that helps one person get into and stay into alignment puts someone else completely out of a healthy position. This is why memory foam is such an click here excellent specialty sleep option for so many people who can't get healthy sleep because of their physical discomfort.
For instance, men and women are proportioned very differently - especially in the hip area. A super firm mattress will end up elevating a women's hip area in sleep if she has a wider pelvis or if she has a little extra physical cushioning. A firm inner spring mattress, with no give, will therefore push the pelvis up if she sleeps on her side or on her back. This means that her lower back will certainly be out of proper alignment with her spine offering no relief from any back conditions or sleep problems she may be suffering. This is especially true of women with narrow shoulders and wider hips who aren't particularly heavy. They may not have the hefty upper body weight it takes to correctly depress the shoulder area of a firm inner spring or traditional mattress and this misalignment will stress the spine. Likewise, if you are a side sleeper with wide shoulders and slim hips you will suffer from the same problem, only instead of lower back issues, you will probably have problems with shoulder compression. With a memory foam mattress, many of these issues are eliminated. Visco elastic memory foam is specifically designed to conform to the shape of your body, so if you are a woman with wide hips, a man with wide shoulders or a person with differed proportions, the mattress will conform to those parts of your body and will also support your shoulders and back so that you can get healthy sleep in proper alignment.
Side sleepers have notorious back alignment problems. One limb and shoulder is under the weight of the body while the other is free hanging. Much of the body's weight is resting on the hip joints which can lead to a misalignment of the spine and side sleepers tend to oddly twist their spine as their body leans forward or backward. On a super firm mattress this is only amplified because there is no pressure relief. If you do sleep on a firm mattress and you like to side sleep, back specialists will recommend that you sleep with a body pillow so that your free arm has a surface on which to rest and to put between your knees to elevate some of the pressure and misalignment of your hips. They may also recommend a memory foam mattress or memory foam mattress topper because this will also redistribute the pressure from your hips and shoulder and knees to the whole body which is far better for you. Additionally, on a memory foam mattress, the lean of your body as a side sleeper will be less pronounced and this will help your spine stay properly aligned in sleep.
Another example of people who will suffer extreme discomfort from super firm inner spring mattresses is anyone with chronic hip problems like arthritis or people who have just had lower back surgery or hip replacement surgery. People in a low back or hip post-operative condition have to lie flat on their back for a long time to heal properly and if they are on a super firm mattress it can actually cause more harm than good. This is because a traditional mattress will force their lower body to be slightly elevated which throws off the lumbar spinal alignment. Again, a memory foam mattress will relieve this kind of misalignment. Additionally, memory foam has been widely used in hospitals and rehabilitation centers across the country for recovery from debilitating injuries, major surgeries and for long term care because it prevents any bed sores or other problems among people who must stay in one position for a long time to heal.

Lepto outa left field!
After re-reading my last post, I can see that I was still grasping at what I didn’t understand at the time to be a serious event. My doctor said “it is a miracle from God” that I have recovered as I did. The truth is, yes, there was a narcotic effect that made me incoherent (not recognizing my family) and took me to the ER. However, Lepto Menengial disease also has this effect and can be catastrophic if not detected. So… ultimately this was a perfect storm and I am lucky I got through it!
The metastasized breast cancer has found two distinct homes in my body (my bones and my CSF cerebral spinal fluid). Neither are curable and each has their own concerns and treatments. I’m on a new oral chemo to treat my Bone Mets and an Intrathecal Chemo that delivers through my skull to treat the CSF. Yep, I have a port in my skull!!
Lepto Menengial disease is a very rare and statistically devastating diagnosis. So far, I have been very lucky to get it identified and treated (infusions twice a week). At the moment the treatment is working and soon I can enter the maintenance plan, which is infusions once a week.
And so as I write this “report” I can see how dramatic the changes in my life have been. I was delirious with hope on my initial Bone Mets diagnosis but the new lepto situation has forced me to face a less optimistic possibility. I know I am in superior care with my current medical team. I am benefiting from the best that western medicine can offer. I’m also working with an amazing oncology natural path doctor who is helping me support my body to be strong through this journey.
While these cancers are considered “incurable”; they are treatable and can add years to my life.
But the very best medicine is what I already have! Incredible love and support all around me! More thanks to come in future posts! My family and friends are the deep wells of love that fuel my will to stick around and to defy statistics! Jared, Cliff, Marina and Delilah are the ones keeping me going!
Life is so beautiful. There will never be enough of it to satisfy me so I continue my Carpe Diem and make the most of what I’ve got!

I feel like FMA did the best job of any media I've seen in presenting a compelling depiction of why a character with a cool advanced fully functional robotic limb still definitely has a disability.
Yeah, Ed's automail is really cool, highly functional, and allows him to escape death multiple times due to things a metal arm or leg can do that a regular one can't. It has a lot of objective positives, especially with how he can alter it situationally.
It also breaks multiple times under completely normal circumstances because mechanical parts only have certain specifications. And has clear limits on what it can do because you've got a limit on what you can pack in before it becomes unusably heavy compared to your other limbs, limits that are pretty consistently lower than what characters with organic limbs are able to accomplish with training and exercise. And it has to be replaced and updated multiple times because Ed is a teenager, so he is still growing, and you're gonna fuck up your spine if your meat leg grows 2-3 inches longer than your metal one. For similar reasons it has to be recalibrated to match his organic limbs in strength and size to avoid joint/spinal/posture/etc. problems. It also has to be replaced when he goes somewhere particularly cold because the metal it uses is too reactive to temperature (Or something like that it's been years and I'm not a metallurgist so I forget the exact details) and would give him frostbite where it connects to his body. The cold-weather replacement is less durable because of the different metal it uses and conks out during fights because he's used to pushing it how he pushed his normal prosthetics. Any time it breaks, he has to find a mechanic, and the mechanisms in it are so complex that he basically has to call its original designer and ferry them out to wherever he is to get repairs, so an "injury" that would take an organic limb a week or two to recover from can put him fully out of commission for months. And while it does have a process for interfacing directly with his remaining nerves and giving sensations of feeling and touch, I'm pretty sure I remember it being explicitly said that the sensations are significantly diminished compared to those he has in his organic limbs.
And again, despite all these drawbacks it has clear benefit and saves his life multiple times. It is a very valuable part of his arsenal, and it has a ton of practical, objective benefits throughout the show. But its drawbacks are big enough that you understand why he states how important it is to him to get his old body back, and they're realistic enough that it doesn't feel forced.
bucky has a disability??
he doesn’t have an arm.

Massage Therapy vs. Chiropractic Care: Understanding Your Options in Toronto

Massage therapy and chiropractic care are two of the most popular methods for addressing pain, tension, and injury in Toronto. Both offer real benefits, but they work in different ways and suit different needs. Choosing the right one depends on what you hope to achieve and how your body responds to it.
You might have to pick just one. However, many people in Toronto use both, sometimes in combination, to achieve the best results for their health.
Key Points
Massage therapy focuses on the muscles and soft tissues, while chiropractic care focuses on adjusting the joints and spine.
Both can help alleviate pain, stress, and mobility issues, but the methods and goals differ.
Massage is often used for relaxation, muscle tension, and recovery.
Chiropractic care is typically chosen for back, neck, or joint issues.
Some people combine both for a more complete approach to health.
Personal preferences, health conditions, and goals help decide which is best.
Both services are widely available in Toronto, with many clinics offering both.
Understanding your options helps you make informed choices about your care.
Regular sessions can support long-term well-being.
Always consult a professional to find the right fit for your needs.
Massage Therapy: What It Is and How It Helps
Massage therapy uses hands-on techniques to work on muscles and soft tissues. Sessions can range from gentle to firm, depending on your needs. Many people in Toronto use massage to relax, relieve stress, or help with sore muscles after work or exercise.
Massage is also used to enhance circulation, facilitate the body's healing process, and promote overall well-being. It can be especially helpful for people who spend long hours sitting or working at a desk.
Types of Massage
Swedish massage:Â Gentle and relaxing, good for stress relief.
Deep tissue massage:Â Targets deeper muscles to help with chronic pain.
Sports massage:Â Designed for athletes, it helps prevent and treat injuries.
Shiatsu and tuina:Â Traditional techniques that use pressure to balance energy and relieve pain.
Chiropractic Care: What It Is and How It Helps
Chiropractic care focuses on the spine and joints. Chiropractors use adjustments to improve spinal alignment and enhance overall movement. Many people in Toronto visit chiropractors for relief from back pain, neck pain, or headaches.
Chiropractic care can help restore function, reduce pain, and improve mobility. Some find it especially helpful after injuries or accidents.
What Happens During a Chiropractic Visit
Assessment:Â The chiropractor checks your posture, movement, and pain.
Adjustments:Â Gentle, controlled force is used to realign joints.
Home care:Â You may be given exercises or advice for self-care.
Comparing Massage Therapy and Chiropractic Care
Both massage therapy and chiropractic care can help alleviate pain and improve mobility. However, they target different parts of the body and employ different techniques.
Massage therapy is best for:
Relaxation and stress relief
Muscle tension and soreness
Improving circulation
Supporting recovery after exercise
Chiropractic care is best for:
Back, neck, or joint pain
Improving spinal alignment
Restoring movement after injury
Managing chronic conditions like headaches
Some people find that combining both gives them the best results. For example, massage can relax tight muscles, while chiropractic adjustments can improve joint function.
How to Choose What's Right for You
Deciding between massage therapy and chiropractic care depends on your symptoms, goals, and preferences.
If your primary concern is muscle tension or stress, massage may be the best option.
If you experience joint pain or spinal issues, chiropractic care may provide additional relief.
If you're unsure, consider trying both and see which one works best for you.
Many clinics in Toronto offer both services. This makes it easy to try different approaches and find what fits your needs.
The Role of Traditional and Modern Techniques
Toronto is home to a wide range of health services. Some clinics combine traditional methods, such as tuina or shiatsu, with modern massage and chiropractic care. This gives clients more options and a more personalized experience.
Traditional Chinese Medicine approaches, such as tuina, focus on balancing energy and supporting the body's natural healing. Modern techniques use up-to-date knowledge about anatomy and physiology. Together, they offer a complete approach to health.
What to Expect During Your Visit
Both massage and chiropractic visits start with a discussion about your health and goals. Your therapist or chiropractor will ask about your symptoms, lifestyle, and any concerns you have.
During the session, you'll be guided through the process. You can always ask questions or share feedback. Afterward, you may be given advice or exercises to do at home.
Benefits of Regular Sessions
Many people in Toronto find that regular sessions help them maintain their health and enhance their overall well-being. Massage and chiropractic care can both be part of a long-term health routine.
Regular care can help prevent problems before they start. It can also support recovery from injuries, reduce stress, and improve quality of life.
Myths and Facts
Myth:Â Massage is only for relaxation.
Fact:Â It can help with pain, injury recovery, and overall health.
Myth:Â Chiropractic care is only for back pain.
Fact:Â It can help with many types of joint and muscle issues.
Myth:Â You have to choose between massage and chiropractic care.
