Weekend Sports Camp!

Yall remembered like...eternity ago when they announced PCap for the Doctor and everyone on tumblr, YouTube, LiveJournal and fuckin Twitter were making edits and saying that 12 was going to be the darkest doctor yet (and possibly the Valeyard!) and were using Peter's previous filmography and dramatic Russian/German/Polish/Greek edm music to hypothesize?

And then the 12th doctor was literally a sweet, wholesome, sage, snuggly match latte-coded babygirl who started out just a bit grumpy?

Goku had time to get away from Cell.

He could've teleported back to Gohan handily. But he didn't try to get away, after a time chamber year of thinking he would lose to Cell, after touring places that reminded him of Gohan's early childhood. after not wearing his gi for a long time. after trying to visit Muten Roshi. After finalizing an old promise to Gohan. After literally giving up in his own fight against Cell.

It's absolutely true that letting the nothing-shy-of-insane pacing of DBZ get to you is the single fastest way to ruin the experience- but it lets Goku off unexamined.

I don't think enough people consider that this very much is suicide, just as much as Vegeta vs. Buu- if not more. Goku throws in the towel training wise, says his goodbyes, and very willingly ends his own life. Dragon ball is full of suicide plays- almost every death IS a suicide play- but Goku has been consciously preparing to die for a while, and even though he has enough time to apologize to Kaio-sama, he doesn't try to teleport away again. OR even to just pull back from Cell- he keeps his hand on him despite Cell being immobile.

let me play contrarian and say the real stress of being in the same car as mine is that he probably does 80 in a 60 mph zone while talking on the phone

A few weeks ago I was chatting with @bi-buckrights about climbing and now I'm signed up for a beginners climbing class in just over a week.

There's something exhilarating and terrifying about trying something completely new in your 30s. I'll probably talk about it on here, so feel free to encourage me or bully me into keeping it up.

Also, any tips and tricks for beginners are welcome!
