[E3 2016...]
"A solid beginning..."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[August 2024...]
"...may lead to a perfect ending, go for it!"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...So not only do you guys give us the RETURN of Marvel 2 via the collection a couple months back, but you also decided we waited long enough and FINALLY GAVE US POWER STONE 1 & 2 FOR MODERN SYSTEMS!!! On top of that you give us Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper, you give us CvS 1 Pro & 2 (right when 1 Pro got an english translation patch for Dreamcast), you give us Plasma Sword out of left field, and you bloody give us PROJECT JUSTICE, AND THEY'RE ALL ONLINE TOO!!!?
Tumblr media
(Gosh do I love when I get to use the hype ringo gif)
Listen Capcom...I know people can just emulate these games or play online thru Fightcade on their PCs and whatnot, I empathize wholeheartedly with them on that...but y'all have given me plenty reason to drop some change on the collections we're being blessed with! I've waited oh so patiently and that patience is being rewarded, doubly so because of the Switch giving us a great portable means to play em.
This right here is beautiful...truly beautiful!

"Remember Rivals School? Of course you don't because it sucked and no one played it!" -Adam Sessler, X-Play
"Fuck you Adam, we played it and it was fucking AWESOME" -Gamers with a brain
Sakura: Still its not the first game we're getting, the 2nd game is in the collection.
Me: Yes, but my point still stands.

What is HAPPENING WITH FIGHTING GAMES RIGHT NOW AAAA :D
This summer has been so cool for announcements. We got that MAHVEL FIGHTING COLLECTION which was sooooooOOO fucking crazy and hype to see. What is there to say than this being an insanely fun collection to play. Something REALLY COOL is that JP exclusive character Norimaro in Marvel VS Street Fighter is suspected to actually be here because he's included in promo art!!! THAT is so nice. Now OBVIOUSLY this collection helps bring these games to a modern era. HOWEVER... everyone is PRAYING that if this sells well, we COULD SEE MvC4... that would be a dream. And with how visually stunning Capcom is doing, they could reallyyyyy do a good MvC game.
Tumblr media
THEN I woke up hazy one morning and was like 'oh yeaa the uh nintendo direct indie thing hhgsgshdhj' and saw a thumbnail for CAPCOM FIGHTING COLLECTION 2, LIKE WHAHAHAAAAA and the line-up is INSANE: SNK vs Capcom 2 YES Alpha 3 UPPER YES Fighting Evolution being here is CRAZY but then you got the 3D FIGHTERS: POWER STONE, RIVAL SCHOOLS (AAAA), and FREAKING PLASMA SWORD. Unlike the MvC Collection, I dunnoooo that this would lean into a new SNK vs Capcom game. We got Terry and Mai in SF6 which is super nice, but both studios are most def busy atm; SNK doing Fatal Fury is a big one. I'm 99% sure we'll see a new SNKvC someday because of these collaborations. Also new Shinkiro art ooomg...
Tumblr media
AND NOWWW we're getting a potential leak that Guilty Gear Strive is coming to switch??? There's a big banner at PAX West. That's SO COOL, I hope Xrd REV2 gets ported too oooomg I've wanted that for so long.
Tumblr media
It's just nice to see these games, especially the old titles, become easily accessible and more people will be able to play these amazing, quirky, fun, and outright genre defining titles. Plus that CFC2 is a MUST for my switch. I remember using my phone for MvC2 and SvC2 and playing it with an actual fightstick connected to it lololol! Me sitting in a store lugging it around while my mom shopped... I had to practice all the time, anywhere. Good times.

Street Fighter: Legacy of Warriors (Part 1: Prologue)
Context: Umm...I can explain. This is part of a Street Fighter fanfic that I want to post on Wattpad in the future and now am posting on here just for the sake of it. In the most basic of terms, this is my adaptation of Street Fighter 2 and will take elements from the games, mostly SFII and Alpha 3, and also WILL reference things from the movies and there will be a homage to one of the memes from the TV show. Also, I have my OC in here: His name is Jake and he is essentially Ryu and Ken's best friend who trained with them since childhood and he has a crush on Chun-Li.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Field of Fate, Australia - Years ago
The rain poured down relentlessly, driven by the fierce wind. The blades of grass in the fields swayed violently, echoing the howling of the wind. In the midst of the tumultuous storm, the resounding clap of thunder filled the air, punctuated by a brilliant flash of lightning in the distance. Amidst this dramatic stage, two formidable figures emerged - Ryu and Sagat.
Ryu, a young warrior, stood tall with his brown hair and piercing eyes framed by a white gi. A black belt was cinched around his waist, and a vibrant red bandana fluttered around his forehead, catching the gusts of wind. In contrast, Sagat commanded a dominating presence, towering over Ryu with his imposing and muscular build. His bald head gleamed in the stormy light, and he was clad in purple Muay Thai trunks with yellow trim, accentuated by tight hand and foot wraps. An unmistakable black eye patch concealed his right eye.
"Ryu, right?" Sagat chuckled. "I've heard a little about you during the tournament."
Ryu remained silent but Sagat still kept his composure. "I just want to know your name so I can write on your tombstone."
"...Ryu," Ryu replied.
"The other fighters were disappointing, especially Eagle, so please make this fight worth it."
Ryu clenched his fists and prepared his stance. "I will." were the two words he spoke before the fight began.
Ryu and Sagat fought with all of their might. They clashed against each other and released punches and kicks so powerful that they had the ability to nearly shake the earth.
"I hope I haven't disappointed you so far!" Ryu said as he had managed to get Sagat knocked down for a while.
Sagat wiped the blood from his lips and he rose. "You're enjoying this, correct? But do not think I'm going to let someone like you HUMILIATE ME!!!"
Ryu unleashed a kick but Sagat used his Muay Thai abilities to get the upper hand and jump forward and rammed into his opponent with his knee. Ryu groaned as he hit the ground and coughed a little. Sagat grinned a little and said, "You have a lot to learn before you challenge me, kiddo. Here." he outstretched his hand. "Let me help you up."
However, Sagat's offer of help was sadly shunned as he noticed Ryu getting up on his knees and his left fist clenching. He felt a dark aura pulsating from Ryu and nothing could prepare him for Ryu turning towards him and attacking with a surprise uppercut, shouting, "SHORYUKEN!!!!"
Ryu's fist cut across Sagat's chest and the Muay Thai fighter fell to the ground, the cut on his chest pouring blood all around. The reporters and spectators that were spectating the fight ran to check on both the fighters and Ryu could only ponder what the surge of energy that he felt was. One of the reporters felt Sagat's pulse and said, "He's alive but this wound seems to be big."
Meanwhile, Sagat, while his body was unconscious, his inner self thought, "What? What was that power? That boy was saving all that power at the last moment, just to humiliate me in front of all that worship me?! Hear this, Ryu: I will return one day, and I will destroy you!!"
Now begins:

Capcom Retro Fighters are Making a Comeback!
Well, the weather's getting cooler on my side of the town, I dunno about you all being that summer is close to being over. Which means school days are close for the kiddies.
But what's heating up on this here FGnC blog is that Capcom has yet announced another fighter collection for the Next-Gen masses, much as is expected with the Marvel vs Capcom hullabaloo that's gotten the entire Fighting Game community in a tizzy months ago....
Tumblr media
Yes, it involves the cast of characters in the SNK universe, among others. The title? Capcom Fighting Collection 2!
Not only the collection houses both the Capcom vs SNK duology, BUT games I've never played before--Star Gladiator and Power Stone 1-2; Also within the collection is Capcom Fighting Evolution, one of the fighters that somehow lived during the FG Exodus in the 2000s (looking at you, Mortal Kombat Armageddon and SoulCalibur 3!). Plus there is another gem in the form of Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper--like how many of these enjoyable little fuckers have I been playing for the last, what, 25+ years of my childhood...from the vanilla arcade version up to the PSP/Vita port with all the characters?!!
Sadly, they left out Rival Schools, but hey, I'm happy with Project Justice 💜
Tumblr media
At least the collection is worth downloading on to mines--and everyone else's--consoles! That and Marvel vs Capcom Fighter Collection (thank God they did not add horrid, rushed, under hyped MVCI)
EXPECTED DATE... Probably around 2025, but the actual month and day are unknown. Time to save it somehow, some way.
Anyways, I hope to stream soon within the weeks 😘 Stay safe, dahhlins!
💜 Snowy. 💜
