Another layer of the Darkling’s trauma I’ve recetly discovered, while I was thinking about Hannibal, specifically one of my favourite quotes:

Our scars have the power to remind us that the past was real. Anchors us. We all need to be anchored.

There’s plenty of fanfics describing the Darkling’s scarred torso, BUT there’s no mention of scars, when we see him half-naked in books:

I tried not to notice the way he looked—his mussed hair, the shadowed ridges of his bare chest. He seemed so human, just a boy wounded in battle, or maybe sparring.

When we finally arrive at the banya, the Darkling is just emerging from the baths, pulling a clean shirt over his head. He really is something to look at, all lean muscle and pale skin beaded with moisture from the steam.

He’s not allowed to keep not only his name, but also his own history.

A single characteristic scar could give him away.

He’s not allowed to keep reminders of all those things he survived.

As if everything he went through didn’t really happen.

The only visible impact is on his psyche, and we all know that’s his fault, right?

calling all ghosts people of tumblr who need subtitiles in order to watch things:

if my best friend was definitely not captioning the ghosts episodes for yall (since we can only watch off of our beautiful google drive now), what would you guys say is important to you in good subtitiling? and what should we try to avoid?

it's a german show called "Druck", if you're familar with the norwegian show Skam this is an adaptation, each season is from the perspective of a different character, the girls in my header are the focus of season 6 but i would recommend watching season 5 before because the characters are already playing a part in that season

A few months ago there must have been a release of an "ai capabile of subtitiling" because on every platform I've been watching there have been very obvious mistakes that would have been fixed if a single human watched the show.

Block me if you've ever heard someone in real life say "no lime for that, lets go."

Its missing the fab five titans hours

Imagine one day they had to investigate something in Atlantis- whether JLA or titans related- and instead of looking at video footage

But unfortunately, the only people that know Atlantean is Arthur, Garth (Kaldur, because I suppose this can be used in a young justice setting) and maybe Batman.

So you would see on camera (as a viewer) the footage, but like in young justice, you would have subtitles in land people language (the one person who asked me if I was Atlantean because I use the words 'land people', youve been making me happy, thank you, and maybe I am, who knows).

And then the camera pans away to a further shot of the team actually watching the footage, and my brain put subtitiles in thier video too. They also got subtitles. And for some reason, that made me cackle out in public. The characters also get subtitiles. I dont know why it makes me laugh.

Also wouldnt it be cool? Batman programming his computers to hold non-land human languages. Does he have a frickin bat-google translate for this. He would. Oh my god.
