Lord Shiva blessing Maha Vishnu
The story of Lord Shiva blessing Lord Vishnu by offering his eyes is associated with Vishnu’s worship of Shiva in the form of a Linga and is deeply symbolic of devotion and sacrifice. This tale is often connected with the emergence of the sacred Bilva leaf(Bilvapatra) in Hinduism.
Tumblr media
Once, Lord Vishnu desired to obtain the divine Sudarshana Chakra, a powerful celestial weapon. To gain this weapon, Vishnu realized that he needed the blessings of Lord Shiva, the supreme deity who is the bestower of ultimate boons. Determined to please Lord Shiva, Vishnu decided to perform intense penance and worship him with complete devotion.
Maha Vishnu undertook his penance on a mountain, establishing a Shiva Linga and worshiping it with utmost concentration. To honor Shiva, Vishnu resolved to offer 1,000 lotus flowers every day at the feet of the Linga. He meticulously gathered fresh lotus flowers and chanted Shiva’s name while making the offerings.
Impressed by Vishnu’s sincerity but wanting to test his devotion further, Lord Shiva used his divine power to hide one of the 1,000 lotus flowers during the worship. When Vishnu reached the 999th flower and realized that one was missing, he was determined not to let his worship go incomplete.
Remembering that one of his epithets was “Kamala Nayana”, meaning “the one with lotus eyes,” Vishnu decided to offer one of his own eyes as a substitute for the missing lotus flower. Without hesitation, he plucked out one of his eyes and placed it at the feet of the Shiva Linga as the final offering, completing his ritual.
Overwhelmed by Vishnu’s unwavering devotion and supreme sacrifice, Lord Shiva appeared before him. Deeply moved, Shiva not only stopped Vishnu from harming his other eye but also blessed him abundantly. He granted Vishnu the Sudarshana Chakra, a weapon of unmatched power and precision, as a token of his approval and as a reward for his devotion.
Furthermore, Shiva declared that the Bilva leaf (bel leaf) would forever be as sacred as a lotus flower and would be considered one of the most important offerings in Shiva worship. This is why the Bilva leaf is highly revered in Hindu rituals and offered to Shiva in temples and prayers.

The Sudarshan Chakra Talon Abraxas
The Sudarshan Chakra is regarded as one of the most potent weapons ever used in the celestial world. Sudarshan Chakra is derived from two words – su and darshan. It means auspicious (su) vision (darshan). Sudarshan means Divine Vision. If there is any other weapon that could rival the Sudarshan Chakra, it is Shiva's trident. Chakra is derived from chruhu, which denotes ‘movement’ and kruhu, which indicates ‘to do’.
The Sudarshan Chakra finds mention sometimes in the ancient Hindu Vedic texts of Rigveda, Yajurveda, and the Puranas. It is described as the ultimate weapon that can destroy an enemy - the asuras, rakshasas, and vikrutatma.
In the Dwapara Yuga, Shri Krishna received the Sudarshan Chakra from the Fire God, Agni. Sri Krishna was the eighth avatar of Vishnu. It was the mighty sage Parashurama, said to be the sixth avatar of Vishnu, who taught Sri Krishna to master the weapon.
There are some details about the Sudarshan Chakra about which some of us may not have the complete awareness. This powerful weapon has some incredible features. Listed below are five amazing features of the Sudarshan Chakra.
Five Unbelievable Features of the Sudarshan Chakra
1. The Sudarshan Chakra is considered one of the most powerful weapons ever used in the cosmic world. This divine discus is believed to have 108 notched edges and travels at incredible speed. The Chakra is stated to travel millions of Yojanas (1 Yojana= 8 kilometers) by the time we blink once. The Sudarshan Chakra is said to have millions of spikes in two rows moving in opposite directions that give it a serrated edge.
2. The Sudarshan Chakra is synonymous with Vishnu and sits on his right index finger. The sacred disc is believed to be very auspicious. The movement of the Sudarshan Chakra is such that it does not move by any action, like throwing the disc. The Chakra moves through sheer willpower, the first of its kind that can be controlled or powered by thought alone. The Sudarshan Chakra is said to possess immense spiritual and mystical powers. The sacred wheel is in constant motion, and it is said to have been created by the combined powers of the Trinity of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva.
3. The Sudarshan Chakra is powered by the mind and thought. Once it leaves the finger, there is no looking back. The Chakra goes after the enemy and chases them down. It will not return to the owner unless it has completed its task. The Sudarshan Chakra, once it leaves the finger, goes chasing the enemy down relentlessly and destroys them. There is no way to escape from its wrath. The only option is to stop running and surrender to the Chakra. Lord Vishnu, it is believed, comes to the rescue of those who surrender themselves to him.
4. Sri Krishna was in possession of the Sudarshan Chakra in the Dwapara Yuga. He is the eighth avatar of Vishnu and obtained this powerful weapon from the Fire God, Agni. It is believed that the Great Sage Parashurama taught Sri Krishna how to master the Sudarshan Chakra perfectly.
5. Mythology has it that Vishnu did not own the Sudarshan Chakra. The Devas (celestial beings) were being incessantly harassed by the Asuras (demons). The Devas approached Vishnu for help. He, in turn, approached Shiva as he was not sure he had complete power to defeat the asuras. He prayed to Shiva for thousands of years, and finally, Shiva, pleased with Vishnu's devotion, granted him the boon to defeat the Asuras and presented him the Sudarshan Chakra. Vishnu in all his avatars retains the Sudarshan Chakra on his right index finger.
The Sudarshan Chakra is a symbol of power and acts as a shield to destroy and negate any negative or evil forces that can cause suffering. A powerful quality of the Sudarshan Chakra is Papa Nashanam (destruction of sins). While there are many speculations about the origin of Sudarshan Chakra, Sudarshan is none other than Vishnu himself. He is called Sudarshan because he wields the mighty and indestructible Sudarshan Chakra.

The Awaited Return
Tumblr media
A piercing scream echoed through the night, slicing through the pin-drop silence of the night. Just then, a girl's limp body is dumped in an alleyway, bruised and broken, by 2 men, no, demons, dressed as humans. They laugh around, while one of them land a kick to the girl's stomach, as she breathes her last. Her last prayer to her murlidhar, Oh Kanha, when will you return? You will avenge me, right? And so, she dies, remembering her murlidhar.
A little girl, barely 5 years old, clutches her Krishna plushie, as the demon, whom she calls baba strangles her maa. She stares at her maa, with her knees curled up to her chest, fingers tightly clutching the Krishna plushie, tears brimming at the corners of her eyes. Then, with a call for her giridhar , her mother breathed her last. The devil's eyes then dart to his daughter, his own flesh and blood, as he strangles his little daughter, to death. Even in death, the little girl, clutched her Krishna, as her body turned blue, just like her gopal.
In a lone classroom, a girl, no, not a girl, a student, barely 15 years old, cries, while clutching her mouth, to muffle her screams, as the devil, dressed as her guru does unspeakable horror to her. She, who only wanted to make her parents proud, herself proud. She, who only wanted to do better, now laid there, feeling dumb, feeling betrayed. What is her fault? She trusted a devil, dressed as a man. She goes home, rubs herself raw in the shower, while she cries to her kanha, How will long will you make us wait, kanha? Please return.
A woman, holds the knife in one hand, shaking tremendously, as tears drip down her eyes. Her phone buzzes continuously, but she doesn't dare open them. Who would want to see themselves being called disgusting and vile names? What was her fault, one might ask. Her fault was, she trusted a man, a friend, rather, a devil. She slices her wrist, does the unthinkable. I apologize Kanha, I apologize. I just couldn't save myself, without you in this world.
Then, the fateful night came. The night was dark, not a single star in the sky. The rain pouring, the winds blowing, it resembled that fateful day. An old, feeble woman, in her 80s thought, woh aarahe hain aaj, with a smile on her face, as she put a garland over her murlidhar's murti. The reign of terror was coming to an end. Elsewhere, a woman was crying out in pain, as the midwives urged her to push harder. The woman could only handle so much more. Still she pushed, she pushed through the pain, for her soon-to-be born child. Then, she heard it. A cry, the cry of her child, her life. She breathed a sigh of relief, as the midwife exclaimed, "Lalla huwa hain! Mithai batwao!"
The woman finally closed her eyes, let darkness overcome her. But, no, not darkness, a figure, with 4 hands, holding a lotus on one, a mace in one, a shankh in another and... the sudarshan chakra in another. Madhav, she thought, madhav paid me his darshan. Tears welled in her eyes. "Maa!" She heard it. The silhouette called her "maa". Her madhav called her "maa." Then, it clicked.

SIGNIFICANCE OF KETU AS PER VEDIC ASTROLOGY
In Vedic astrology, Ketu is one of the nine celestial bodies, referred to as a "shadow planet" due to its lack of physical form. Ketu represents the tail of the serpent, while its counterpart, Rahu, represents the head.
Together, they form the lunar nodes—points where the Moon’s orbit intersects the Earth’s ecliptic. Ketu is associated with spirituality, detachment, and liberation, making it a crucial element in understanding one's spiritual growth and inner journey.
Lets understand Ketu from Mythological Background
Ketu’s story is rooted in Vedic mythology, particularly the legend of the Samudra Manthan (the churning of the ocean). When the nectar of immortality (amrit) was distributed, a demon named Swarbhanu disguised himself as a deity to consume it. Lord Vishnu, upon realizing the deception, severed Swarbhanu’s head with his Sudarshan Chakra. The head became Rahu, and the body became Ketu, both immortalized by the nectar they consumed. This division symbolizes the duality of desire (Rahu) and detachment (Ketu).
Nature and significance of Ketu
Ketu symbolizes the process of detachment from material pursuits and ego. It is often referred to as the "moksha karaka," the indicator of liberation. While Rahu represents worldly desires, Ketu signifies spiritual fulfillment, introspection, and transcendence. Its energy is introspective, mystical, and often misunderstood, as it compels individuals to look within rather than seek external validation.
Characteristics of Ketu
1. Spiritual Growth: Ketu signifies enlightenment, spiritual awakening, and the dissolution of the ego. It prompts individuals to seek higher truths and meaning beyond material existence.
2. Detachment: It often brings experiences of loss or separation, encouraging a sense of non-attachment and fostering spiritual resilience.
3. Intuition and Psychic Abilities: Ketu governs intuitive powers, occult sciences, and mysticism, making it significant for those pursuing spiritual or esoteric knowledge.
4. Shadowy Influence: Being a shadow planet, Ketu’s effects are subtle but profound. It operates in a way that may not be immediately apparent, often manifesting as unexpected changes or challenges.
5. Past Life Karma: Ketu is associated with past-life karma and the lessons brought forward into this life. It represents inherited wisdom and the spiritual baggage one carries.
Ketu in the Horoscope
Ketu’s placement in a natal chart reveals areas where an individual may experience detachment or spiritual focus. Its position often indicates past-life influences and karmic patterns that need resolution.
Ketu in Different Houses:
1st House: Indicates a detached or introspective personality, often with a focus on self-discovery and spirituality.
4th House: May signify separation from the comforts of home, leading to inner emotional growth.
7th House: Could bring challenges in partnerships, encouraging individuals to develop inner strength and independence.
12th House: Amplifies spiritual tendencies, often leading to profound inner transformation and interest in mystical practices.
Ketu in Different Signs:
In fiery signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius), Ketu enhances courage and spiritual zeal.
In watery signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces), it deepens emotional sensitivity and psychic abilities.
In earthy signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn), it emphasizes practicality in spiritual pursuits.
In airy signs (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius), Ketu fosters intellectual understanding of spirituality.
Ketu’s Impact in Dasha and Transit
Ketu’s planetary period (Dasha) and transits can be life-altering. During its Dasha, individuals may face challenges that lead to significant spiritual growth. Transits of Ketu often mark periods of detachment, introspection, and transformation.
Positive Effects: Spiritual growth, success in esoteric fields, detachment from ego, and heightened intuition.
Challenging Effects: Confusion, emotional detachment, sudden losses, or health issues.
Ketu’s Spiritual Significance
Ketu’s ultimate goal is to lead the soul toward liberation (moksha). It challenges individuals to detach from material illusions and align with their higher self. By embracing the lessons of Ketu, one can transcend worldly attachments and achieve profound spiritual awareness.
In summary, Ketu is a complex and transformative force in Vedic astrology, representing both the challenges and rewards of spiritual evolution. Its influence, though often unsettling, guides individuals toward inner peace, wisdom, and ultimate liberation.

My favorite moment in StarBharat
Y'all may think it is something Abhimanyu related, but no, it isn't. Okay, maybe it is IS Abhimanyu related.
I really, really love the entire sequence from the night of the 13th day, to Jayadrath's death. So here is a weird summary for those of you don't remember it properly.
Arjun arrives and drops to the ground in shock (kind of). Then he starts to cry, and then remembers Abhimanyu's tear catching days when he was still alive. He is like : who will catch my tears now *sob sob*
I resisted the urge to say : then don't cry at all, Arjun. But I didn't say anything to the Arjun in my laptop seeing the time and occasion.
Then Yudhishthira comes to apologize (as he rightfully should). Arjun asks him who offed his son. Instead of taking the names of the people who shot arrows at Abhimanyu, Nakul is like "Jayadrath got a boon, bro".
Arjun feels very guilty (as he has been feeling and will continue to feel for the rest of the war). Then he flies into a rage and is like time to rectify the mistake I made~
Krishna is standing in the corner like : "mission accomplished."
Arjun goes to the Kaurava camp and starts beating the fuck out of everyone he comes across. Mysteriously, Karna and Duryodhan are nowhere to be seen in this entire scene.
Drona starts telling Arjun how what he is doing is adharma. Arjun tells Drona to shut the fuck up (albeit politely) . Then the rest of the Pandava bros (except Yudhishthira) arrive and start kicking some ass.
Arjun is going to murder Jayadrath (but hey, weren't we supposed to a cool ass death sequence????) Then Samrat arrives fashionably late and gives Arjun Abhimanyu's kasam (indirectly). Arjun pledges to either kill Jayadrath by sundown the next day or die himself.
The next day, Arjun continues his rage induced fight with the Kaurava army. Also, Abhimanyu is still laying in the exact place they placed his body the previous day. In the middle of the fcking camp. Poor guy.
Then Duryodhan starts teasing Arjun how he is going to die soon. Ashwatthama and Dushasan join in the taunting. Dushasan is like : Krishna calls himself a god, how did he help you?
Le Krishna: *covers the sun with his sudarshan chakra in the next scene*
THIS IS HOW HE IS HELPING HIM, DUSHY.
Jayadrath, who was hidden in the camp, comes to the battlefield, because he feels that the sun has set. Shakuni rightfully feels that something is sus, and the Pandavas shed some tears.
Arjun is like : okay. If you think I should die then I will die.
Jayadrath arrives, and then taunts Arjun a LOT. finally, Shakuni arrives and is like : Krishna why tf is your sudarshan hiding the sun.
*cue shocked faces*
Krishna is like : well, I can't make the sunset happen (you very well can. Who are you lying to?), but I can make it appear as if the sun has set, no?
Then a long scene happens. I don't remember much of it, since I was too focused on Arjun's flying hair. He has really entered his Santoor papa era.
Long story short, Arjun sends Jayadrath's head flying. YAYYYYYYY

For someone who loves to be alone...yet fears loneliness, Who love oceans yet scared of depth, Who Loves rain...yet doesn't like the gloominess it brings, Loves darkness...yet scared of it at the same time, Who Loves love....yet scared of heartbreaks, a dreamer...who prefers to live In reality, a innocent person who's familiar with every single darty joke, someone who believes both in punishment and redemption....A believer who doesn't believe.........I've two favorite deities. In fact the most dual gods of their respective pantheon. From greece.... it's:
• the god of healing, also the harbinger of plague.
• the god of art, poetry & music: by nature a dreamer but also the speaker of prophecy: the ultimate divine truth.
• God of light....yet famous to be associated with sudden death.
• soft hands play lyre like no other....also the most skilled archer along with his twin sister.
• the god & protector of youths....But with the wisdom of a experienced man.
• have masculinity and femininity at the same time. Athletic, proud and a skilled warrior.....also possess beauty, tenderness and is sensitive.
and from hinduism.... it's the 8th incarnation of the preserver......who's a:
• Preacher of detachment yet loves deeply.
• steals clothes for fun....also was the first one to stand up and save a woman's dignity, when her own husbands were standing silent to watch her disgrace
• advice to fight...yet teaches the importance of forgiveness.
• the most powerful and influential king of his generation, who gets scolded from his mother for stealing butter.
• Holds his flute 'Murali' in one hand, while the most lethal weapon of universe 'sudarshan chakra' in the other.
• smiles more than he speak....but his wrath is feared even by the Gods.
• bravest person who fought with Gods and mortals alike but also known as 'Ranchod' (one who abandon the battlefield)
• loves his family and community so much that endured many hardships to keep them safe and when they crossed the limit... he's the one who summoned the ending and drowned his beloved city and it's people..... including his family.
• famous for making rules....and breaking them at the same time.
• an embodiment of balance.....also famous for being partial to those who submits to him.
Side effects of being a Libra, i guess 😬😬
