Tumblr media
“Julie and y/n.” You perked up at the mention of your name, even more so at the mention of the name of your crush.
Julie Molina. Los Feliz High’s rising star. She went from not singing a note for a year to opening for Panic! at the Disco at the Orpheum with her hologram band Julie and The Phantoms. You were aware of what she’d gone through with losing her mother and with it, her love for music. For years, you’ve admired her from afar, watching her blossom into this young rockstar that just belonged on the stage with those three cute boys by her side. You’d never even dared utter a word to her, even if your best friend, Amy told you to at least say hi. A star like Julie wouldn’t have the time to even talk to a ‘nobody’ like you, let alone go out on a date with one.
So, when Mister Adams called out both your names for the baby project for your Child Development class, your insides heated up while your heart started beating faster. Especially when the Latina girl turned around to look at you and give you an acknowledging smile. The world seemed to stop all at once, and it made you wonder if you were even still alive at all.
“You have the rest of the class to start getting to know your babies and partners and begin thinking of names together. You’re going to make a birth announcement for your child together and it will be the first assignment you’ll be graded on,” mister Adams’ voice droned on about the project, but your mind had already wandered back to Julie.
She had her head propped up in her hand, her long, elegant fingers disappearing into the mop of curls that beautifully laid over her shoulders. You had always admired how healthy Julie’s locks looked. Her hair was so glossy and clearly taken care of. And her style. Her style was impeccable. Today, she was wearing your favorite outfit of hers. A baby blue, ditsy floral dress with a white T-shirt underneath it and a fuzzy bear coat thrown over it. Paired with her white doodled-on sneakers, it was the prettiest outfit you had ever seen. But your all-time-favorite thing of hers, looks-wise, was the little gap between her teeth. It made her look so innocent and perfectly imperfect.
“Get to it!” mister Adams clapped his hands together, waking you up from your hazy daydream. Before you can properly register what’s happening, Julie had reached your desk already and taken a seat next to you with her gap-toothed smile plastered on her face.
“Hi,” she greeted.
Your hands started to shake as you stumbled over your next words, “Hey. I--I’m y/n.”
A giggle erupts from Julie’s mouth as she placed her hand on top of yours. For a second, you swore you could feel a spark of electricity going from her hand to yours. Julie didn’t acknowledge it, so you must’ve imagined it, you thought.
“I know,” she said as mister Adams came over and handed them their baby in the black carrier. “Thank you, mister A.” The forty-something man smiled down at the two of you before making his way to the next duo.
Julie turned to you, “So, how shall we name this little rascal?” she asked.
Her golden brown eyes bored into you, expectantly, awaiting a good answer from you. So, your brain slowly started to get into first gear, going back-and-forth on names you’ve always liked.
Olivia, Clementine, Alexis, Charlie, Lara, Mason, Alex -- uhm… Olivia could be cute. Or Rose! No, not Rose, that’s Julie’s mom’s name. Uhm…
Your eyes wandered from Julie’s face to her backpack she had put in front of her on the desk. The silver dahlia pin reflected in the artificial light of the classroom, shimmering and tugging at a thought in your brain. “Dahlia,” you blurted out, not even thinking about it twice.
Julie’s eyes widened slightly before darting over to the little pin on her backpack. A small smile tugged at her lips as her index finger carefully caressed the metal. At first, you thought you’d said something wrong and had the urge to apologize profusely until she looked up and said, “I like that. Dahlias were my mom’s favorite flower.”
Your breath hitched in your throat. You knew the flower had some sort of significance to Julie as  you saw pins on her jackets and backpacks all the time, and even noticed some in the background of her Instagram pictures. But you didn’t know the significance had something to do with her mother.
“We don’t have to use it if you don’t want to. My eyes just fell on your backpack and--” Julie’s hand reached for yours again, shutting you up with the beautiful sound of her laugh.
“Dahlia is perfect, y/n.”
Chills ran down your spine at the tone of her words. So warm. So comforting. Like a fluffy blanket was being wrapped around you. It melted away any insecurity and nerves and any other scrutinizing thoughts of self-doubt.
You tore your gaze away from Julie’s before you’d drown in them indefinitely and grabbed a piece of paper from your notebook and a pencil. “So, I was thinking to maybe have a little dahlia as a card for the announcement?” you suggested as your hand skidded across the paper, sketching the outlines of the flower.
Julie’s eyes widened at how quickly you could put a nearly perfect flower onto a piece of paper. For a moment, she just let you sketch out your ideas, admiring the passion and determination behind your actions.
“Something like this?” you slid the piece of paper in front of Julie, who picked it up to look at it up close. Her mouth dropped open as her eyes darted across, taking in every single detail you’d managed to get out in such a short amount of time. The decorative letters that spelled out the baby’s name and the details in the flower itself.
“Y/N,” Julie breathed out, her eyes finally meeting  yours again. “This is gorgeous! You are insanely talented!” she placed the sketch back on the table in front of you. A blush crept to your cheeks as you stared at the grey lines on the white surface.
“I--it’s not perfect,” you shrugged, scratching at the wood of the pencil. “And I’m not half as talented as you are.” You mumbled the words in hopes she wouldn’t even hear them but she definitely did. Placing a hand on your shoulder, she opened her mouth to say something, only to be interrupted by the bell ringing.
“Come over to my place after school?” she suggested as she grabbed her backpack and the mechanic doll in the carrier. “We can brainstorm some more over the baby announcement and arrange a schedule for who’s gonna take her home when and stuff?” You slowly nodded your head, your brain still going over the words that came out of her mouth.
Julie Molina wanted to see you after school. Julie Molina. You. After school.
“Okay, cool. See you tonight then. I’ll take Dahlia with me for the day?”
“Uhm, yeah, sure. See you tonight, Molina.” You didn’t mean for it to come out as flirtily as it did. But it seemed to have some sort of an effect on the Latina girl in front of you as her cheeks tinted a scarlet red.
Julie had messaged you on Instagram with the address and her number, which you immediately saved to your phone before heading down to the homey two-story house a few blocks away from your own.
I’m here
You texted her as you stood on the driveway, your bike on the kickstand next to you. The nerves were surging through you as you looked around. Green plants and trees surrounded you as did all the pretty yellow and pink flowers. One of which you recognized: Black Eyed Susan. According to your grandma, they symbolised encouragement and motivation. Which was something your family needed, and Julie’s too after the loss of her mother.
“Hey, y/n,” Julie greeted as she exited her house through the front door, shutting it behind her, “We’re gonna go to my mom’s studio ‘cause I’ve got band practice after.” She hooked her arm with yours while the other carried the baby doll’s carrier.
She retreated her arm from yours and used it to pull one of the white doors open, revealing a spacious area filled with instruments, couches and three boys you recognized as the rest of Julie’s band. All three of them looked up from their spots on the couch and armchair with either a pen in their hand and a notebook on their lap or an instrument -- or part of the instrument in the blonde’s case -- in their hands. All looking like deer caught in headlights.
“Why’s your band here?” you asked, your eyes darting from the musicians to your project partner. Julie opened her mouth to say something, but nothing came out. “Wait, I heard rumors about them being ghosts, that’s not true is it?”
A squeaky sound came from all four of them as they looked at each other for help on a good excuse until Julie placed Dahlia on the coffee table near the boys and turned to you, placing her hands on your shoulders. She said, “You have to promise not to tell anyone.”
“I promise?”
Julie sighed, dropping her hands from your shoulders and instead putting them into the pocket of her fuzzy coat. “Then yes, they are ghosts.” Your eyes scanned Julie’s face for any sign of a joke, but you couldn’t detect anything.
“Weirdly not the strangest thing I have ever heard,” you shrugged as you placed your backpack on a chair near you and dug your notebook out of it. “I hashed out some details for our baby announcement during French class.”
Confused, Julie glanced at the boys and back at the girl in front of her. “You’re not gonna run away and never come back?” she asked you, which made you stop in your tracks, your fingers between the pages of the book as you were trying to get it open.
“My grandma is into very spiritual things. So ghost chats are quite familiar to me,” you explained and resumed your movements.
The three boys got up from their spots, notebooks and instruments left on the cushions, and made their way towards you.
“I’m Luke,” the brunette with the greenish hazel eyes introduced himself, smiling at you.
Before you could chime in, the boy next to Luke piped up, raising his finger. “Reggie! Hi!” You couldn’t help but giggle at his enthusiasm before your eyes landed on the blondie last in line, assuming he’d introduce himself too.
“Alex,” he said with an awkward giggle.
“It’s nice to meet you guys. I’m y/n,” you said just as the robotic sound of a cry sounded through the room, indicating Dahlia needed something. “Excuse me.” You pushed past the boys, as they stepped aside so you didn’t have to go through them.
“She’s my partner for this baby project thing,” Julie explained to the boys. They shot each other a helpless look, wondering if the others are as lost as themselves. “It’s where you have to take care of a mechanic baby doll for a week.”
Julie walked over to you as you cradled the doll in your arms, trying to get it to stop crying, and the boys followed suit. They were intrigued by this whole baby project ordeal.
“Have you fed her yet?” you asked Julie when the baby wouldn’t stop crying.
“Yes, I did. The second I came home,” she replied as she softly tugged at the doll’s shirt she’d put on her. It was an orange long sleeved shirt with a big yellow smiley printed on it. You knew Julie had a sweater similar to this, which is why Julie had chosen to put this one on.
“Diaper check?”
“Was doing that when you arrived.”
The boys watched this interaction like a tennis match, their heads bobbing back and forth. To Alex, it seemed surreal a teacher would put two girls together for a project like this. If this were a thing back in his high school days, he would’ve never been paired with another boy.
“Why else do babies cry?” you asked whilst racking your brain on possible ideas to make her stop crying.
Luke sprung into action then and grabbed his six string from the stand behind them, putting the strap around his shoulder. He strummed the instrument a couple of times into a beautiful, familiar melody.
Julie seemed to recognize it too, because no sooner, her voice floated through the shed.
“Oh thinkin' about all our younger years There was only you and me We were young and wild and free Now nothing can take you away from me We've been down that road before But that's over now You keep me comin' back for more”
Her eyes locked with yours as she sang, a soft smile plastered on her face while you stared back at her with an endeared expression resting on your features. You loved the sound of her voice and you loved the way it was able to calm you down in an instant. Which also seemed to be the case with the robotic baby in your arms whose cries had quieted down.
Luke’s voice coming in didn’t stop Julie from looking at you either.
“Baby you're all that I want When you're lyin' here in my arms I'm findin' it hard to believe We're in heaven And love is all that I need And I found it there in your heart Isn't too hard to see We're in heaven”
The crying had now completely stopped. A quiet calm resting over the entire studio space as you and Julie kept looking at each other. Of course the boys noticed this and couldn’t withhold the smile finding its way to their lips.
“Is it me or do they look like a cute family?” Reggie whispered to his best friends.
He wasn’t wrong. Though neither you and Julie would ever admit it, there was a definite spark between you, and it only grew as the week went on.
You took turns taking Dahlia home and spent lunches and every other hour possible together with the mechanic doll that had become the vessel for your expression of your love for each other. It became such a routine that by Friday, the two of you dreaded turning Dahlia in. Neither of you wanted it to end. Neither of you knew what was going to happen if you didn’t have Dahlia to take care of together.
Were you just going to go back to how it was with you admiring Julie from afar and her completely ignoring your existence? Or were you going to stay friends?
Neither of you knew even though both of you had the same questions.
“Just ask her out on Friday when you’ve turned Dahlia in, y/n,” Amy said as you sat in French together and she had noticed your sighs of desperation. You looked at her as if she’d just said something really controversial. “Y/N, there's chemistry between the two of you! Have you seen the way she looks at you? That is not how ‘just a project partner’ should look at you!”
You let Amy’s words sink in your brain as you went on with the rest of your day after French class until the moment of goodbye came around.
You and Julie handed Dahlia back to mister Adams, along with your entire report you had worked on until two am last night in Julie’s garage, the boys all but helping you out.
The weight on your shoulders should’ve been lifted now that you’d reached the deadline and could actually hand something in. But it weighed down even harder. Mostly because you were anxious it was going to be the end of you hanging out with Julie. It didn’t have to happen, but you were scared it might.
Everything you want is on the other side of fear.
The old saying your grandma always muttered to herself haunted around in your brain as you and Julie made your way towards your desk in the back of the class. Neither of you said anything for a while until you both turned to each other and opened your mouths.
“I wanna ask you--” / “Can I ask you--”
Your words mingled and lingered in the air as you both giggled at the simultaneousness of your thoughts.
“You go first,” you said, offering Julie the floor. You couldn’t help but feel anxious yet curious about what she was going to say.
“Can I ask you if maybe we could like, I don’t know… Study together later tonight?”
Your eyebrow raised in surprise as did the corners of your mouth while a bright pink flushed your cheeks. “I kinda wanted to ask the same thing,” you admitted, which made Julie light up entirely. “So, yes, definitely.”
You had definitely found yourself on the other side of fear. On the contrary. You had found yourself on cloud nine with flutters in your stomach and clammy hands from the nerves as the date grew closer and closer.
Crazy how a stupid mechanical doll can bring two unlikely people together.

Anne shifted impatiently on her bed as she watched Kat closely observe each color on her eye shadow palette, indecisive on which one she should apply to her restless subject.
“Kat, I don’t have all day,” Anne complained as she looked down to Kat’s palette. To Anne, they were just a mix of lighter greys and darker greys, a sign that she still had yet to find her soulmate.
Anne thought briefly about the moment she would meet her soulmate and her monochromatic world would slowly turn into one of color. She longed to experience the wonderful sight of color that Kat had tried describing to her. Despite her best efforts, Anne still struggled to imagine what color was actually like. Though, Kat’s overt excitement while explaining the different shades and sights made Anne bubble with anticipation at the thought of sharing that first colored glance with her soulmate.
“We’re going to brunch with Anna,” Kat muttered absentmindedly. “We could literally have all day, if we wanted.”
“But you always spend so much time picking colors!” Anne whined as Kat finally picked one of the lighter greys to apply.
“I want to make sure those green eyes of yours pop if you happen to meet your soulmate today,” Kat replied as she began working on Anne’s makeup.
Anne paused for a moment to think about what Kat had said. “What is green like?” Anne asked dreamily after a few moments. She had asked this question countless times before but she never got tired of Kat’s answer.
“Green is like a gentle stroll in the park, surrounded by nature. It’s peaceful and quiet, like the feeling you get when someone truly knows you,” Kat answered as she moved from Anne’s left eye to her right. “At least, that’s what I think of when I see green. It reminds me of you. Because your eyes are the prettiest shade of green I’ve ever seen.”
“You and Anna are so lucky,” Anne whispered. “You met each other in elementary school. And I’m stuck here wondering if I’ll ever meet my soulmate.” Anne sighed despondently at the thought.
“You will, Anne!” Kat exclaimed. “And they’ll be the most amazing person ever!”
“I hope so,” Anne responded, silently dreaming about her soulmate as Kat finished doing her makeup.

Cathy grunted quietly to herself as she heard the front door of her apartment swing open. The two voices chattering to each other cut through Cathy’s concentration, causing her to stop halfway through writing her sentence. She set down her pen with a huff as she threw her head back in frustration.
This had become Cathy’s new normal, much to her distaste. After her roommate Catalina had found her soulmate early last month, the two lovebirds had become practically inseparable. They had spent the majority of their time together, enjoying the new sights and sensations that came as new soulmates bonded. And, all the while, Cathy had never felt more alone in the world.
Of course, Cathy felt guilty about her emotions but she couldn’t help feeling irritated when she saw Catalina with Jane. Cathy was sure Jane was a lovely woman but it stung when she remembered that she had been completely replaced by her.
It used to be Cathy that Catalina would sit and watch movies with. It used to be Cathy that Catalina would tell all of her thoughts to. It used to be Cathy that Catalina would want to spend time with. Now, Cathy had been reduced to a passing shadow in the background of Catalina’s life.
Cathy shook her head to clear her mind of those depressing thoughts. She shouldn’t be blaming Catalina for how lonely she felt. Deep down, Cathy knew she was just longing to have a connection with someone like Catalina had with Jane. She wanted to spend an endless amount of hours talking and laughing with someone that gave her butterflies. She wanted to experience color for the first time with her special someone and watch as her greyscale world slowly came to life. She wanted to find her soulmate.
The sound of giggles broke Cathy out of her thoughts, as she looked down at her journal with a sad expression. She wouldn’t be able to focus enough to write with all of the background noise coming from the living room. So instead, Cathy decided to leave the apartment altogether and head to her happy place: the library.
In a hurry, Cathy threw on her favorite hoodie before grabbing her phone and keys off her desk. She hoped that she would be able to get past the living room and out the front door without any awkward conversations.
Of course, luck was never on her side. A few paces before Cathy reached the door, Catalina noticed her. “Hey Cathy! Where are you going?”
“The library,” Cathy grunted as she reluctantly turned to face the couple that was cuddled up on the couch. Cathy did her best to refrain from wincing visibly at the sight.
“Hey!” Jane’s sickenly sweet tone made Cathy narrow her eyes skeptically. “I like your jacket!”
“Yeah! It’s blue,” Catalina said excitedly, which only added insult to injury. It was bad enough that Catalina had seemingly forgotten about Cathy in the past month but jabbing at her inability to see colors yet was a step too far.
“You know I can’t see color, Catalina!” Cathy finally snapped. “But thanks for rubbing it in my face that you can!”
“Cathy, I didn’t mean it like-” Catalina’s frantic response was cut off by Cathy slamming the door on her way out of the apartment. As she walked down the stairs, Cathy was overcome by guilt for acting out of anger and lashing out at Catalina. She almost turned back to apologize but decided against it, knowing it would be best for each of them to have their own space for a while before talking it out.
With that reasoning in mind, Cathy exited the building and rushed off to the library, hoping to find some solace among the endless shelves of books. Even if her sight was in black-and-white, she could always paint a vibrant picture in her head of the stories held within the bindings of a good book.
~~~
Anne turned off her motorcycle as she pulled into one of the spots in front of their favorite restaurant. She looked around the outdoor seating to see if Anna had arrived before them. Much to her surprise, she found Kat’s soulmate sitting at one of the tables with a menu in her hands.
“She’s actually on time for once,” Anne mused as she took off her helmet and slid off her motorcycle.
“I told her that she would make me sad if she turned our brunch into a lunch again,” Kat piped up from beside Anne as they approached the table.
“Did you give her your puppy dog eyes?” Anne asked and received a devilish smile in return.
“You bet I did!” Kat answered as Anne laughed and nudged her cousin’s shoulder affectionately.
“I taught you well,” Anne responded, winking at Kat with a smile on her face. “I’m so proud of your progress.”
Kat giggled before walking up behind Anna’s chair and covering her soulmate’s eyes with her hands. “Guess who it is!”
Anna paused for a moment, pretending to be deep in thought. “I think it might be my beautiful soulmate who also has extremely soft hands. Or her obnoxiously loud cousin.”
“Rude!” Anne scoffed jokingly at the last comment directed at her as she took a seat in the chair across from Anna.
“It’s me!” Kat exclaimed excitedly as she popped her head next to Anna’s. In turn, Anna smiled at her lovingly before pressing a quick kiss to her lips.
Anne watched the small exchange with a longing expression on her face. She couldn’t be more happy that her cousin had a perfect soulmate. It seemed like they were made for each other and Anne knew for a fact that nobody made Kat happier than Anna did.
Yet, seeing her interact with Anna made her heart drop slightly in her chest. Anne longed to share small moments like the one she had just witnessed with her own soulmate. She wanted to hug and kiss them, cuddle up on the couch and watch a movie together, and even invite them to brunch with Kat and Anna so that Anne would finally feel less alone. More than anything, she wanted to find her soulmate.
“Earth to Anne!” Anna’s exclamation snapped Anne suddenly out of her thoughts.
“Sorry! I got distracted,” Anne mumbled out as an apology.
“No worries! We were wondering if you were ready to order,” Kat chimed in.
Anne briefly looked down at the menu in front of her before nodding her head. She practically had the thing memorized after so many visits to this spot. “Yeah, I’m ready.”
Not long after, the trio ordered their food and settled into casual conversation. They talked and laughed together until their waitress set down their plates and they began eating in silence.
After a few minutes of quiet, Kat piped up and said, “Anne, I can’t wait until you meet your soulmate!”
“What… what makes you say that?” Anne asked, caught off guard by Kat’s sudden confession.
“She wants you to start doing your own makeup,” Anna joked before Kat smacked her lightly on the arm. “Ow!”
“No, I love doing your makeup!” Kat exclaimed. “But brunch would be so much better if there were four of us.” Kat gestured to the empty chair in front of her, the perfect place for Anne’s soulmate to sit. Anne turned to look at the chair with a small smile on her face, imagining a near future where she could hold hands with her soulmate under the table as they ate brunch with Kat and Anna.
Anne was about to respond when something in the crowded sidewalk caught her eye. Her attention shifted completely away from her brunchmates as she turned to get a better look at what it was. She gawked as she saw the sight of a pretty woman rushing past their table, wearing something… colorful.
Anne suddenly pushed back her chair and stood up, turning around as she watched her soulmate run further down the street. “T-that was…” Anne stuttered as she turned back to Kat and Anna, who each had wide grins on their faces. “... color.”
“Go get ‘em!” Kat cheered and motioned for Anne to leave. Anne smiled back at her before quickly taking off in the direction her soulmate had gone.
After a moment of stunned silence, Anna spoke up. “I think you just summoned her soulmate, Kat.”
“Yes. I did,” Kat replied and lifted her head in pride. “I take full credit.”
“Do you think Anne is going to finish that?” Anna asked and gestured to her half-eaten plate of food.
“Probably not,” Kat answered and watched as Anna scooped the leftover food onto her own plate. She looked back up in the direction her cousin had gone in pursuit of her soulmate before continuing. “I doubt she'll be back any time soon.”
~~~
Cathy pushed open the library door with a huff before a sudden calm washed over her. The library atmosphere instantly soothed Cathy’s temperament as it brought back the many good memories she had made while reading her favorite classics.
Before Cathy could think about where she was going, her feet led her to the shelves holding the literary classics out of habit. As she browsed the different titles in search of a new one to read, Cathy felt her phone buzz in her pocket. She pulled it out and sighed when she saw several messages from Catalina asking where she was and apologizing profusely for her earlier behavior.
Cathy quickly grabbed a random book from the shelf before walking over to the seating area and picking a spot to sit away from the others who were reading. As she sat down, she slid the book on the table and began messaging Catalina, letting her know that she was at the library and also apologized for her sudden outburst. Cathy knew that they would still have to talk about why it had happened but for now it was nice to simply be forgiven.
After letting Catalina know she would be home in a few hours, Cathy slid her phone back in her pocket and turned to see which book she had grabbed from the shelf. A scowl passed over Cathy’s face as she let out a frustrated sigh. Sitting on the table was a hardback copy of “Romeo and Juliet,” one Cathy’s least favorite books.
The title seemed to mock Cathy, reminding her of the soulmate she still had yet to find. The first time Cathy read the book, she had been enamored by the love that Romeo and Juliet had for each other until she realized how disastrous their choices turned out to be for themselves and their families. Their love had been selfish and brash, a complete opposite of what Cathy hoped for herself and her future soulmate.
With those thoughts swirling in her head, Cathy slid the book away from her and resolved to find a new one when a voice spoke up beside her. “I’m not much of a fan of ‘Romeo and Juliet’ either.”
“Finally someone agrees! I think it’s a terrible portrayal of love for teens to read, especially when considering how much society has evolved since Shakespeare’s time and-” Cathy’s flow of words suddenly stopped as she turned to look at the person standing beside her chair. Her breath caught in her throat and for the first time in her life, Cathy was truly at a loss for words. Because nothing could describe the sight of the stranger’s eyes, glistening in a new shade that Cathy had never seen before.
She was utterly speechless as she stared in shock, suddenly realizing that the beautiful woman she was staring up at was her long-awaited soulmate. The girl shuffled nervously before flashing Cathy a quick smile. “I- um- can I sit with you?” Cathy’s soulmate stuttered as she gestured to the empty chair across from her own.
“Yeah, absolutely!” Cathy exclaimed eagerly as she broke out of her daze. She watched as the woman took a seat and looked back at her with curious eyes, causing her eyes to sparkle even more brightly than before. Cathy looked down shyly, almost unable to bear the intensity of the color in them.
“I’m Anne Boleyn. And I guess we’re soulmates,” Anne said with a nervous chuckle.
Cathy gave Anne a warm smile before introducing herself. “My name’s Catherine Parr. But most people just call me Cathy.”
“I like your jacket, Cathy,” Anne complimented. “Do you happen to know what color it is? Because it’s the first color I can see.”
In that instant, Cathy was incredibly grateful for Catalina and vowed to not only apologize profusely to her when she got home but also treat her to a nice dinner to show her gratitude for telling her the color of her jacket before she left. “My friend said it was blue,” Cathy replied as she looked down at her sleeve. The faintest hues were starting to seep into the fabric, though they were still too faint to differentiate from the grey the jacket was before.
“Blue,” Anne whispered to herself. “I like blue.”
“Anne, your eyes…” Cathy couldn’t even finish her sentence as she became enraptured once again by the beautiful colors in Anne’s irises.
“Oh, yeah! My cousin says they’re green,” Anne mentioned, proud of herself that she remembered the color.
“Green is beautiful,” Cathy said and admired the way Anne’s eyes lit up at the compliment.
“You’re beautiful,” Anne blurted out before ducking her head in embarrassment. Cathy blushed at the sudden praise and reached across the table to take Anne’s hand in her own.
“That’s really sweet, Anne,” Cathy nearly whispered as she gave Anne a soft smile. Anne returned Cathy’s smile with one of her own.
In that moment, Cathy felt the pang of loneliness she had carried around with her for so long finally dissipate into thin air. In its place, a small bud of love had sprouted for the woman sitting front of her, the same woman that also happened to be her soulmate. An elated feeling spread in Cathy’s chest at that thought. She couldn’t wait to get to know Anne better. She couldn’t wait to bond with her soulmate and live a life full of color with her. And she certainly couldn’t wait to fall in love with the green-eyed goddess sitting in front of her.
~~~
The two queens stayed in the library and talked with each other for quite a long time until eventually the librarian got tired of asking them to stay quiet and politely asked them to leave. Anne and Cathy apologized for being disruptive before leaving the library as they quietly giggled to themselves.
“That’s the first time I’ve ever been kicked out of a library,” Cathy commented as they walked hand-in-hand down the street.
“Oh, I’ve probably been blacklisted from every library in town for being too loud at this point,” Anne joked and nudged Cathy’s shoulder lightly. “Where are we off to next?”
“There’s a park not too far from here,” Cathy said with a question in her eyes. “I’d like to see it in color, if you’re okay with that.”
“I’m more than okay with that, Cathy,” Anne responded and squeezed Cathy’s hand in reassurance. “I love spending time with you.”
Cathy looked up to Anne with a shy smile on her face. “I love spending time with you too. I know we haven’t known each other for that long but you’re my new favorite person.” Cathy bit her lip nervously at the confession, watching Anne’s response to see if she had gone too far.
Anne visibly lit up at Cathy’s words. “You’re my new favorite person too!” Anne exclaimed excitedly before taking a moment to pretend like she was pondering thoughtfully to herself. “It’s almost like we’re soulmates or something,” Anne joked, eliciting a small laugh from Cathy.
“Maybe it’s because we are soulmates,” Cathy said with a smile on her face. Anne took that opportunity to look at Cathy for a moment and admire how beautiful Cathy really was. A lively color had seeped into her skin in the past couple of hours, contrasting from the dull grey it was before, giving her an almost angelic glow in Anne’s eyes. Her smile literally lit up Anne’s world, making the colors that had appeared in her surroundings over time a little brighter than before. Cathy’s gentle touch made Anne crave every part of her, filling Anne’s mind with daydreams of them cuddling and kissing one another as Cathy led her to the nearby park.
Anne was broken out of her thoughts by Cathy gasping next to her. She looked around for a moment before having a similar reaction to Cathy. Anne stared in amazement at the beautiful park in front of her, practically glowing with a newfound life that Anne had never experienced before.
Anne tore her gaze away from the sight of the park to steal a quick glance at Cathy. She smiled subconsciously as she watched Cathy look around, taking in every new color and committing it to memory. After a brief moment, Cathy turned to look at Anne and they shared a smile.
“Well, what are we waiting for? Let’s go!” Anne exclaimed excitedly and pulled Cathy towards the entrance of the park. Cathy eagerly followed her, sharing in Anne’s excitement to experience their first walk in the park together in color.
The new soulmates spent most of their early afternoon roaming along the park’s walkways, admiring their surroundings as the colors around them became more vibrant and lively. They chatted as they walked, getting to know each other better as they exchanged interests and a few laughs as well.
Anne felt so at peace in the world, relishing in the park’s atmosphere and bright colors as she brushed shoulders gently with Cathy. There was no feeling like it. For the first time in her life, Anne felt truly whole. Of course, her upgraded eyesight was amazing but the real reason for her happiness was the beautiful girl beside her, the girl she was quickly falling in love with.
“Everything is so much more beautiful now,” Cathy breathed out as she scanned the park briefly, her eyes landing on Anne. “And it’s even better than everything in the park is also green.”
Anne tilted her head in confusion as she looked around at the trees and grass, noticing that their hue was the predominant color in the park. She looked back to Cathy. “You mean my eyes are the same color as the trees?” Anne asked, almost in disbelief.
Cathy nodded. “Though, your eyes are brighter than the leaves.”
“Wow.” Anne was at a loss for words. Kat’s description of the color green came back to Anne’s mind and she suddenly understood what Kat had been trying to explain. Colors enhanced moments that would otherwise seem ordinary, making them all the more exciting and memorable. They helped make connections between memories and surroundings, similar to how Anne’s favorite color had quickly become blue because it reminded her of Cathy.
Cathy led Anne to a bench and they sat down next to each other. Cathy turned to Anne and brushed the hair that was covering her cheek behind her ear. Anne blushed at the gesture as Cathy brought her hand to rest on Anne's cheek. She leaned into the touch as Cathy softly stroked her cheek.
Slowly, the two of them leaned in for a kiss and Anne felt a million butterflies erupt in her stomach. When their lips touched, Anne felt her heart flutter in her chest and she was certain that she could spend the rest of her life kissing Cathy.
They parted after a few moments and Anne felt a small smile play on her lips as she watched Cathy look around in awe at the park that had suddenly become much more vibrant and alive than before.
“Do you think that happens every time?” Cathy asked as she looked back to Anne with an excited smile on her face.
“I think there’s only one way to find out,” Anne said with a smirk. Cathy raised an eyebrow before licking her lips and pulling Anne in for more kisses. Though Cathy didn’t look back at her surroundings after that, instead keeping her eyes closed and enjoying the sensation of Anne’s lips on her own.
Anne quickly lost track of time, too caught up in losing herself in Cathy’s arms and in their later conversation.
“Hey! I’m curious, Anne,” Cathy began after her giggles had ceased from Anne’s stories about her disastrous experiences while attempting to cook. “How did you find me? At the library, I mean.”
“Oh! I didn’t actually,” Anne replied. “I saw you run past the restaurant where I was eating and tried to catch up to you. But, you’re really fast! I saw you walk into the library and then it was only a matter of time until I found you.”
Cathy’s eyes flashed guiltily as she remembered why she had been speeding to the library. “Oh. Yeah, I was upset after a fight I had with my roommate. Going to the library helps me calm down.”
“Is everything okay between you too?” Anne asked as she rubbed Cathy’s shoulder, sensing her distress at the memory.
“Not… exactly,” Cathy managed to reply. “She found her soulmate recently as well and I felt like she replaced me in a way. I got angry with her and snapped at her before I left. We apologized to each other but I know we still have to talk it out when I get back.”
“I know how you feel. When my cousin and I moved in together, I felt like she was spending more time with her soulmate than with me,” Anne empathized. “I talked with her about how I was feeling and she made sure to include me more and have one-on-one time together after that. I know it’s pretty cliché but communication really is key.”
Cathy pondered over what Anne had said before a look of determination passed over her features. “Yeah, you’re right. I’ll go talk to her.” Cathy paused momentarily and looked back to see Anne’s proud smile. “Thank you, Anne.”
“No problem, Cathy,” Anne said, before a look of complete terror passed over her face. “I totally forgot I left my motorcycle at brunch!” Anne exclaimed as she dropped her head in her hands in embarrassment.
Cathy giggled at Anne’s dramatic reaction before saying, “Hey, it’s okay. Let’s walk back to your brunch spot and then I can walk back to my apartment to talk with Catalina.”
“Yeah okay,” Anne breathed out as she stood up, followed by Cathy. “I could drive you to your apartment, if you’d like.”
Cathy smiled at Anne’s offer. “That would be nice.” The soulmates smiled at each other before making their way to the small restaurant where Anne had first seen Cathy. Much to her relief, her motorcycle was still parked out front where she had left it. Kat and Anna were gone but Kat had placed Anne’s helmet on the seat of her motorcycle. Anne picked it up and handed it to Cathy for her to put on.
Anne turned the motorcycle on and felt it roar to life under her. Cathy slid behind Anne and wrapped her arms around Anne’s torso, causing Anne to smile widely at the action.
As Anne navigated the streets following Cathy’s instruction, she was overcome by how suddenly her life had changed. In the morning, she had been dreaming of what it would be like to have a soulmate and now she had hers pressed softly against her back. In the morning, Anne was longing for someone to fill the void of loneliness in her heart and now Anne’s heart was overflowing with love for the beautiful woman behind her. In the morning, Anne’s world had been in black-and-white and now it was in screaming color.
Tamaki x Fem! Reader
Tamaki with a s/o who is afraid of lightning
🐙 It was Saturday and you were studying with Tamaki in his room. “Nejire and Mirio are supposed to be here. Have they responded to your texts?”, you asked, turning to see Tamaki staring right  back at you before turning away, his face bright red.
🐙 “N-no. M-mirio isn’t picking up his calls either. Y-you can go back to your dorm if you want, I know I’m not the most interesting thing in the world.”
🐙 Quickly, you ruffled his hair, scooting closer to him and putting your arm around him. “Are you kidding? I’m here to study, not party. And you’re perfect for that. You mind?”, you handed him your flashcards as he nodded, face red from how close you were as he got a flashback.
🐙 In the common room a few hours ago, when you all had scheduled a study get-together. “Dang it, I just can’t get it.” You yelled, throwing the book to the ground, getting Tamaki’s attention. You were never a violent or loud person, so what was your problem?
🐙 “Y/n! It’s not that hard! You need to move the x to the right to find the y, and then you divide by the y to get the x. Then once you get the x you can find the y.” Mirio grabbed your hands softly, using his hands to make yours write out the solution.
🐙 Tamaki couldn’t help but feel enraged by jealousy as Mirio touched your hand, had his arm around you, and was leaning his entire body on you. Such a touch so innocent yet so intimate made Tamaki angry, but what could he say?
🐙 He was such a coward, not telling you his feelings from the moment he had met you. So beautiful, so young, so powerful and confident. For his entire life, he had never felt such an attraction to human being before. Yet here you were, blowing his mind away with every movement you made.
🐙 “How about a study group?” Nejire asked, observing Tamaki’s face becoming red with anger. Tamaki turned to her, not understanding what she was doing. But Nejire wasn’t stupid, she could see what was happening in front of her. I mean, Y/n isn’t in our class but we could help her. I can’t count how many nights she’s stayed up with us, helping us ace our exams.”
🐙 Mirio nodded in response as Y/n sighed, agreeing. “Great! We can have it in Tamaki’s room in… an hour? Until then, boys? Remember how Present Mic asked us to go get the… boxes?” She lied, seeing the boys look at her with confusion but agreeing. “I can help if you want. Tamaki did hurt his ankle last week and-” Nejire put her hand over Y/n’s, quieting her.
🐙 “He’s got it!” She exclaimed, trying to ignore Tamaki blushing and Mirio laughing. “Okay then… I’ll go get my stuff. See y’all in an hour at Tamaki’s.” She smiled at all of them, confused as why they were acting so strangely, before walking back to her dorm.
🐙 “Sweet, I need to help her with the equation that-” Nejire interupted Mirio with a smack on the head. “Oh no no no! Mirio! You are such a romantic you didn’t even notice! You know Tamaki likes Y/n, and you couldn’t keep your hands off her! Now I know you don’t like her, but Tamaki needs his moment. That’s why this ‘study group’ is going to be all about you two!”
🐙 Tamaki blushed, packing up his stuff and trying to avoid eye contact with his friends. “Nejire! What if she doesn’t like me? She’s the prettiest girl in school, have you seen how many people ask her out on the weekly??”
🐙 Mirio and Nejire sighed, realzing the truth in his words. It had become a routine for Nejire to walk with Y/n to behind the school where at least one guy would wait to confess their feelings for her. She had always rejected them though, even the hot, red-and-white haired one with daddy issues.
🐙 “Yes, but she has never said yes! Plus, you should see the way she worries about you. She could punch Nejire and I for days, but you once ran into her and she apoligized.” Mirio exclaimed as Tamaki thought it over. “Fine, just… don’t make it awkward. If I ruin my friendship with her I’m going to die.”
🐙 Tamaki had run off to his room, not knowing that Mirio and Nejire were making plans not to come to the study group. Tamaki had to make the first move on his own, or else it wouldn’t be genuine. Mirio and Nejire couldn’t help him with this part.
🐙 So here you two were, studying a bunch… alone. “What’s the definition for the muscle that connects the neck to the shoulder?” Tamaki asked, looking up at your beautiful face. You had taken off all your makeup, tied up your hair, and you were wearing a t-shirt and athletic shorts.
🐙 Of course this would have been a good thing if you had not been naturally breath-taking in your looks, and the t-shirt happened to be very see-through.
🐙 “The levator scapula?” You asked before he nodded, smiling extra happily. “Yes! Finally! Take that Sensei Ectoplasm!” You jumped up happily, throwing the pillow that had been in your lap. “Again, remind me why you took Human Body science?” Tamaki asked, smiling as you giggled. So cute.
🐙 “I thought it would be an easy-A! My mom is a nurse after all, you’d think I know something!” You giggled as Tamaki bent over to talk to your short self. “The only thing you know how to do is-” BANG!
🐙 Tamaki looked outside his window to see a large strike of lightning in the sky as rain poured with it. “Huh, I didn’t know it was supposed to- Y/N?!” He exclaimed, seeing as you stood there, frozen. You stared at the ground, your eyes wide and filled with fear.
🐙 BANG! You ran to Tamaki, wrapping your arms around him. Blushing, he wrapped his arms around you slowly. “Y/n? What’s wrong?” He asked, feeling you shaking. “I’ve… I’ve always been terrified of lightning. I don’t know… I can’t help it.” You didn’t say it then, but Tamaki knew why.
🐙 Your father had a lightning quirk, and he had been your greatest enemy in life. He was beyond mentally abusive, screaming and threatening you from the moment you could remember to when you had run away from home a year ago. Luckily, that week you had gotten the dorms system in UA.
🐙 Whenever lightning striked, you could imagine your father’s screams at you as a child. A wave of toxic, abusive memories flooded your mind.
🐙 “Tamaki. Tamaki it’s going to hurt me.” You murmured, holding into his shirt with a death grip. “No, nothing is going to hurt you. You’re safe with me.” He pet your hair, trying to calm you. “No, he knows where I am. He’s going to find me, he’s going to hurt me. He’s going to hurt me Tamaki, you don’t understand, he-” In that moment, Tamaki swooped down to kiss you.
🐙 You didn’t pull away, and he realized how much you two were meant to be together. “He’ll have to get through me first.” You looked up at him, realzing how much you loved him. Had you ever gave your feelings towards him much attention? No, he was too shy to ever return them. But now…
🐙 “I love you Tamaki. I’ve loved you since that day you took care of me when I tripped in the rain and cut my leg. You gave me your jacket even though you got soaked, and you carried me to the nurses office. You stayed with me the entire time.” You smiled, moving the hair away from his face.
🐙 “Just like I’ll stay here the entire time.” He strengthened his grip on you, holding you tightly. “I’m right here.” You cuddled up against him as he moved you too to his bed, wrapping the blankets around you two.
🐙 BANG. You whimpered, sinking deeper into his hug. “Tama? Kiss me again.” You insisted as he nervously nodded, moving his lips down to meet yours. This kiss was more passionate as he moved his hand to the back of your neck to deepen the kiss.
🐙 “I love you kitten.” He murmured as you began to fall asleep to the sounds of his heartbeat, cuddled up against him. There would be time for studying later this week. Right now, you were focused on your top priority.
“Baby, please, don’t.”
“This is goodbye, Yeonjun. I’m breaking up with you.”
3 weeks before… The past couple of weeks have been difficult for Soobin.
First, the Fall Ball was coming up, and as Student Council president, it was a bit of a burden on him. The Fall Ball was one of the biggest social events at MOA, and it was the first of the 3 annual school dances that took place at the school every year, followed by the Winter Formal and Prom for the Seniors. The Student Council, along with the respective committees in charge of the Fall Ball, had been meeting at least thrice every week now.
Second, he’d been trying his best to keep his distance from Yeonjun and B. Knowing what he knew about what happened the night of Yeonjun’s birthday party 2 weeks ago, he felt as if there was a ticking time bomb that could explode at any moment. So far, Yeonjun had showed no signs of recalling just how far things with Rose went that night, and B hadn’t shown any signs of remembering the conversation that she and Soobin shared in the utility closet while she was crying her eyes out, which ended with him admitting that he currently had feelings for her, which he was really struggling with.
And third, he just seemed to be falling more and more for her everyday. No matter how much he tried to keep her at a distance, the little smiles she’d send his way and the mere way she said his name just made his heart flutter every damn time. The butterflies in his stomach were inescapable.
He felt guilty for thinking it, but on more than one occasion he’d fantasized about having B as his date for the Fall Ball. He’d imagined what it would be like to drive to her apartment on the night of the ball, and how breathtaking she’d look as she’d greet him at her apartment door wearing the most gorgeous dress, how her eyes would sparkle when they’d take pictures at the photobooth before the dance, how tender she’d feel in his arms as they slow-danced in the middle of the school’s event hall, and even the things that they could do after the dance, which may or may not have included the tantalizing thought of him unzipping her dress to reveal her slender bare back and more.
His imaginations of everything that he wanted to do with B’s bare skin made Soobin feel guilty, but he couldn’t stop the fantasies from playing in his mind from time to time. He found that the best way to shut them down was to remind himself that Yeonjun had probably already seen or done everything that Soobin could only fantasize about, which effectively made Soobin feel sick to his stomach. He didn’t know just how far Yeonjun had taken things with B, but he had definitely insinuated that they’ve done more than just make out, and frankly, Soobin didn’t want to know just how much more.
Besides, Soobin was well aware that his thoughts were nothing more than fantasies, that Yeonjun would be taking B to the Fall Ball, and that his reality would probably end up with him ensuring that the event would be running smoothly the whole evening, too busy to actually dance with his date, if he’d even have one.
Taehyun had tried, on more than one occasion, to suggest who he should take as his date to the Fall Ball.
“How about Tyuzu, that shy girl in your Maths class? She seems really nice and graceful, and with her height I’m sure you 2 would look amazing together.” Taehyun suggests. It was lunch time, and the 6 of them were sitting at their gazebo. Yeonjun and B were busy feeding each other and giving each other googly eyes, while Beomgyu and Kai seemed to be laughing over a video Kai had seen on Twitter.
“Chou Tzuyu? She is really nice, kinda shy, and I have to admit that she’s very pretty.” Soobin says, considering Taehyun’s suggestion. “But I don’t know if I can ask her, we’ve never had any conversations before so it would be a bit weird, she might say no.”
Kai lets out a snort. “Yeah right. Soobin, do you know how many girls at this school would go crazy if you asked them to be your date to the Fall Ball? Have you forgotten who you are?” he says. “Heck, remember that one year when a couple of girls asked you to be their date? I wouldn’t be surprised if it happens again this year.”
Beomgyu nods in agreement. “That’s right, you’re Choi fucking Soobin! President of the Student Council, Ecosave club ambassador, president of the Humane Treatment of Animals, member of MO Academy’s elite Basketball team, a main vocalist of the Jazzed club!” he exclaims, holding his hands up in the air as if there were a billboard with Soobin’s name on it. “Choi fucking Soobin.”
Soobin laughs, embarrassed. “Thanks you guys, but I don’t think I’ll be taking a date this year.”
“No, what about Tzuyu? I’ve been thinking about who the perfect date for you would be, and after much consideration and deliberation, I know she’s the one.” Taehyun says.
“And she seems great, Tyun, and thanks but no thanks. Why don’t you ask her instead?” Soobin suggests, politely turning down his suggestion.
“I would, but she’s too tall for me.” Taehyun grumbles. “Plus, there’s already someone else I wanna go with.” he says, subtly shooting a look in Beomgyu’s direction. Noticing this, the ever-so-confident Choi Beomgyu looks flustered for a moment, not expecting the sudden interaction.
“Oh? Our Taehyunie actually has a date in mind?” Kai says excitedly. “Finally! Who’s the lucky date?”
“I haven’t asked them yet, so still no date for me.” Taehyun backtracks. “What about you, Hyuka? You got a date in mind?”
Now it was the younger boy’s turn to be flustered. “I, uh, I’m kinda dating Yuna, and we already agreed to go to the Fall Ball together.” he mumbles.
“Whoa, you asked Yuna out? Why didn’t you tell us!” Beomgyu exclaims, surprised.
“I’m sorry, I thought I did!” Kai says defensively. “I definitely told B about it though. Right, Baba?” he says, turning to B.
B breaks out of the little love bubble she shared with Yeonjun and nods. “Yup, and I think you 2 are adorable.” she says. “Yuna, Ryu and I will probably be going dress shopping this weekend. Do you have any preferences? Anything in particular you wanna see her wear? Any color or style in mind?”
Kai starts to blush. “N—Not really, I think she’d look great no matter what she wears.”
The whole group in the gazebo collectively goes “Aw.”
“Sounds like our darling boy is in love.” Soobin says affectionately, ruffling his hair. “Yuna’s a lucky girl! No wonder you seem like you’ve had your head in the clouds lately.”
“Oh stop it.” Kai huffs, his cheeks heating up as he tries to brush away Soobin’s hand. “At least I have a date. Really, Soobin, you could ask literally any girl in this school and she’d say yes.”
Except the one girl I actually want to ask, Soobin thinks to himself, his eyes sneaking a quick glance at B, who currently had Yeonjun’s arm casually wrapped around her shoulders as he absentmindedly scrolled through his phone and she continued to tease Kai about his new relationship.
B was pretty, but it wasn’t like she was the prettiest girl in the world. Heck, he knew that there were a lot of other pretty girls at MOA, so he didn’t know why he was so captivated by her. Soobin had never considered himself to be the kind of guy who’d have a type, so he didn’t know what exactly made someone attractive to him. He just found himself attracted, and he had no idea why. Out of all the girls at MOA, why did she have to be the one to catch his attention?
At that exact moment, B turns her head towards him and their eyes meet. She breaks into a giggle, causing Soobin’s heart to skip a beat. He starts to panic as he realizes that she had caught him staring.
“Soobin? Do you want my help in the date department?” she asks teasingly.
“Ah, nope, I think I’m good. I really don’t think I’ll be asking anyway to be my date this year.” Soobin says, flustered by her catching him staring at her.
“Dude, it’s our last year and it’s our last Fall Ball. Are you sure you want to do it solo?” Yeonjun pipes in.
Soobin shrugs. “I don’t mind, really. I’ll focus more on organizing it and making sure everyone has a good time, so being dateless is alright with me.”
B sighs. “What a shame, you could’ve made one very lucky girl at MOA really happy.” she says. “But whatever you say, Soobinie. Just make sure you let yourself enjoy the Fall Ball as well instead of just focusing on everyone else having fun, alright?”
Soobin nods. “I will, don’t worry.”
Once that was settled, the school bell rings then, signaling the end of their lunch break. The group pack up their stuff and walk back to the main building, going their separate ways to class.
•°•
2 weeks before…
“Hey Tyun, do you have a date to the Fall Ball yet?” Soobin asks absentmindedly, his eyes on the screen and his fingers expertly smashing buttons on the controller as he did his best to beat Kai at this round of Tekken. It was Saturday, and the guys had come over to his place to play video games.
Taehyun sighs, scrolling through his phone while the boys focused on their video game. “No, Soobin, I don’t. I haven’t had the chance to ask yet.” Which was true. It was only when Taehyun had started seeing someone in their friend group when he realized just how hard it was to be dating someone in the same friend group, especially when they he and Beomgyu had both agreed to keep things lowkey. He could see now why Yeonjun and B hadn’t told anyone about their relationship when they first started dating.
He thought it would be easy, since he and Beomgyu saw each other everyday, ate lunch together everyday, hung out at his family’s café after school everyday, and even got to hang out during the weekends. The problem was that the 2 could never find time to themselves, the rest of the friend group always seemed adamant on hanging out together, and if both of the boys would say no to hanging out at Soobin’s place on Saturdays, then it would come off as suspicious. Whenever they were together, they could hardly sneak in some quick hand holding, much more a few private words between them.
His eyes dart to Beomgyu, who was sitting in the middle of Soobin and Kai on the sofa. He looked adorable between the 2 giants of the group, sitting with his legs tucked under him, making him look extra tiny. Taehyun’s heart fluttered when Beomgyu meets his gaze and gives him an understanding smile, which he returns.
Taehyun knew that he could just ask Beomgyu to be his date through text, but Taehyun was a bit of a romantic. For the past year, he could only ever fantasize of what it would be like to kiss Beomgyu, of how soft his hands would feel, of the warmth of his body if he were to embrace him, of dancing with him in the middle of the floor at one of MOA’s school dances. Now that it was all a reality, he wanted everything to be perfect, or to at least be able to ask him in person.
“What, why haven’t you asked yet?” Soobin exclaims, surprised. “Kang Taehyun, are you…nervous?”
Kai bursts out laughing at the thought. “Taehyun? Nervous? Please, I bet that word isn’t even in his vocabulary.” he says, keeping his eyes on the screen. “If anyone should be nervous, it should be whoever Taehyun plans on asking. No offense, Tyun, but you are intimidating as hell. Even as your friend, I would probably pee myself out of nervousness if you wanted to ask me to the dance.”
“Lucky for you I don’t want to ask you, then.” Taehyun replies dryly. His brows furrow together with worry. “Am I really that scary?” He knew he had a reputation at MOA, that everyone had him on a pedestal as this perfect untouchable being, that most students were afraid to speak to him unless he acknowledged them first, but he didn’t think even his friends would feel that way.
“No, I don’t think so. Hyuka’s just saying that cause he’s scared of you but I don’t think you’re that intimidating, but that might be cause I’m the oldest one here.” Yeonjun pipes in, his eyes on his phone. “What do you think, Gyu? Is Taehyun scary or is Kai just a scaredy cat?”
Kai lets out a “Hey!” in protest, but Taehyun’s focus is on Beomgyu now, who tapped a finger on his chin as he thought of his response. “No, I don’t think Taehyun’s scary at all. In fact, I think he’s adorable. Like a cute little squirrel, with his big eyes and his fluffy hair.” he says thoughtfully, smiling fondly at the said boy. “In fact, contrary to what Kai thinks, I’d be ecstatic if I knew that Taehyun would like to ask me to the dance.”
Taehyun feels heat start to creep into his cheeks, flustered by Beomgyu’s opinion. “Really? You’d be ecstatic?” he says, not really knowing what else to say.
Beomgyu nods. “Definitely. I would say yes, without a doubt.” he says, his smile growing.
Without a second thought, Taehyun suddenly says “So do it, then. Be my date. Go to the dance with me. Say yes.”
Once his words register, everyone goes still, their heads all turning towards him, as if he had just transformed into a squirrel in front of them. Taehyun didn’t think he’d just blurt it out, but the words came out of his mouth before he could even think about it. He knew they were all looking at him as if he were crazy, but he only had eyes on Beomgyu, who was looking at him with wide eyes, caught by surprise.
After a moment, Beomgyu’s smile grows even wider as he says “Yes. I’ll be your date. I’ll go to the dance with you. Without a doubt.”
Taehyun can’t stop himself from smiling upon hearing this, his jaw stretching out to its limit and his eyes crinkling with glee. Meanwhile, their friends suddenly unpause, jumping out of their seats and staring at the 2 boys.
“Oh my god! What just happened?” Kai exclaims, covering his mouth with his hand to stop himself from smiling.
“Wait, Tyun, when you told me you’ve been in love with someone for like a year now, was it Beomgyu this whole time?” Soobin says, the realization hitting him like a truck.
Taehyun nods. “Yes, but there’s no need to talk about that.” he says, trying to politely tell Soobin to keep his mouth shut. Now, he was shy.
“In love, hm?” Beomgyu says teasingly, standing up as well to walk over to Taehyun. “For a whole year? Didn’t know you had it that bad for me, Tyun.”
“Don’t let it get to your head now, just cause you’re my date.” Taehyun says casually, trying to hide his giddiness. Beomgyu was his date. He was going to the Fall Ball with Beomgyu.
Yeonjun walks over to the 2 and envelops them into a hug, squishing them together. “I’m so, so happy for you two.” he says wholeheartedly.
“Thanks, YJ.” Beomgyu says, laughing as Yeonjun squeezes them even tighter.
“Congratulations you two! I’m so happy!” Soobin squeals, joining the group hug.
“Congrats! I’m happy, too!” Kai says, trying his best to wrap his arms around the 4 older boys. “What should we call you now? Beomhyun? Taegyu? Tyugyu?” he says playfully.
“You’ll call us Tyun and Gyu cause that’s who we are.” Taehyun responds. “Look, I love you guys, and I’d like to thank you all for being happy for us, but I can’t feel my ribs so please let go now.” he manages to say, trying his best to wiggle his way out of the group hug, which was impossible since he was right in the middle of it.
“No, I want this moment to last forever. So happy for you guys.” Kai coos, squeezing even harder.
“Hey, please don’t crush my date!” Beomgyu laughs, attempting to protect Taehyun from being squeezed to death.
“You heard Gyu, hands off his date!” Soobin says, stepping away from the group. The 2 other boys hesitantly follow suit, leaving Beomgyu and Taehyun standing together in the center. The two boys look at each other, their eyes both sparkling with joy as Beomgyu reached out and took Taehyun’s hand in his.
“My date.” Beomgyu says, keeping his eyes on his boy. Once again, Taehyun can feel his cheeks go red, and it takes his entire willpower to stop himself from leaning in and kissing Beomgyu right then and there.
Their 3 friends coo and squeal in awe, amazed at what they were seeing.
“How are you 2 so sweet? How did this happen without any of us suspecting anything?” Soobin asks curiously, looking at the 2 with a bit of jealousy. Why couldn’t he have what they did?
“Actually, yes, I think we all want to know how exactly this happened.” Yeonjun agrees, taking a seat on the sofa.
“Will you tell us? Please? I wanna hear a love story.” Kai says, plopping himself down next to Yeonjun and giving the 2 boys puppy dog eyes. Soobin soon follows, seating himself on the couch, and looks at the 2 pleadingly.
“Alright, children, settle down.” Beomgyu says, taking over. “Allow me to tell you the story of how Tyun fell head over heels in love with me—”
“Oh shut up, you’re the one who kissed me first.” Taehyun says, making the 3 boys gasp.
“B—but, no! That was a game!” Beomgyu interjects, referring to the game of Kiss or Tell at Yeonjun’s birthday party. “I panicked and kissed you cause you were gonna tell everyone about that one time we tried this new Ramen place near the subway and I ended up shitti—”
“You know that’s not the kiss I was talking about.” Taehyun cuts him off, echoing the exact words Beomgyu had said to him when they first talked about it at Kang’s café. Beomgyu’s face goes red as the 3 boys practically die of curiosity.
“Oh my god, Gyu kissed Tyun? After the game?” Kai screeches, unable to stop his dolphin-like squeals from coming out due to his excitement.
Taehyun nods. “There’s not much to it, really. He kissed me during that game, then he kissed me again after, we talked about it. We started kissing and talking more, and then I asked him to be my date today in front of you guys.” he says matter-of-factly.
“Don’t forget the part where Soobin said you’ve been in love with me for a year now.” Beomgyu butts in, recovering from his flustered state.
“Soobin, you’re lucky I like you and consider you as one of my closest friends.” Taehyun says, looking at him pointedly.
Soobin laughs nervously, knowing that he was referring to the fact that he told Taehyun practically everything about his feelings for B. “Yeah, thanks, Tyun.” he says sheepishly.
Taehyun simply nods at him, signaling that his secret was still safe with him. “Now that we’re all caught up on me and Gyu’s history, can we let it go and move on now?” he says, not really used to being in the spotlight for anything other than his academic achievements or extracurricular talents. And he definitely wasn’t used to being fawned over for his love life, which had been nonexistent up until that moment.
The 3 boys nod. “Okay okay, let’s talk about something else. How about the Fall Ball? What will you guys be wearing?” Kai asks, gamely changing the topic.
“Yeah, I mean, a suit? What else?” Yeonjun says. “I have like a hundred suits just waiting to be worn, I just have to pick one out.”
Beomgyu nods. “I’ve got some suits at home too.”
“I don’t have a suit yet.” Taehyun says quietly, as if he were a bit shy and embarrassed. “I—I kind of just rent a suit every time I have to attend an event that requires it because…” Because I can’t afford to buy it, he wanted to admit. Even with the scholarship, it was hard to maintain his lifestyle as a student of MO Academy. He did his best so that it wouldn’t be a financial burden to his family. He walked to and from school everyday, brought packed lunches, recycled notebooks and used textbooks, and worked part time at the café so his family wouldn’t need to pay for an extra set of hands.
Being one of the school’s scholarship kids never bothered him much, especially since he knew his performance as a student was exemplary and he knew he deserved the honor of studying at such a prestigious school, but he couldn’t stop himself from those moments when he just couldn’t afford to live as lavishly as his friends did. But when he saw his friends’ faces showing that they understood, he felt like he didn’t have to say it out loud.
Beomgyu clicks his tongue, looking at him playfully with disapproval. “No way, my date deserves to own a suit. The most handsome guy at MO Academy, apart from myself of course, should definitely own a suit.” he says, smiling at Taehyun thoughtfully. “What do you say, I take you out shopping tomorrow? We can go to the shopping center near that subway station, I could meet you there for lunch?”
Taehyun beams at him then, nodding his head. “It’s a date.”
“Our first one.” Beomgyu says, winking at him.
“But the fact still stands that I can’t…afford to buy a suit.” Taehyun says sheepishly.
“Darling, don’t worry about that. I’ll get you a suit as pretty as your face, which is impossible because you are the prettiest person I’ve ever seen, but I can sure as hell try.” Beomgyu says, lifting a hand up to cup Taehyun’s cheek, making him blush.
“Alright, but nothing too extravagant, and definitely no designer brands.” Taehyun says, giving in. “And I’m buying you lunch.”
Beomgyu beams. He didn’t think Taehyun would say yes, but he was set on buying him a suit whether he wanted it or not anyway. “Deal.”
The 3 boys watching them from couch squirm, trying their best to hold in their awe, but upon seeing that, Kai couldn’t hold it in any longer.
To everyone’s surprise, Kai lets out a squeal, making them all jump and stare at him. “You guys are so cute, I wanna cry.” he says, making them all laugh fondly at the youngest boy.
“We are adorable, aren’t we?” Taehyun says, wrapping an arm around Beomgyu’s waist.
“Couple of the year.” Beomgyu agrees, kissing the top of his head. “So what kind of suit do you want?”
“Just a standard black suit, so I can wear it to any occasion.” Taehyun says. “I mean, it’s not like there’s a wide spectrum of styles to choose from anyway.”
“This topic would’ve been more fun to talk about if we were girls.” Soobin pipes in thoughtfully. “It’s kinda boring how guys just wear the same thing for every formal event. Meanwhile, girls can pick any dress color and any style of dress they want!” he says, suddenly going on a mini rant. “It seems so fun in movies when girls go dress shopping and fix up their hair and do their makeup before a big event. I wish guys could experience the same thing. Shopping and getting all dressed up and excited for a big night sounds so fun.”
“Speaking of girls going shopping, I’m pretty sure Baby, Yuna and Ryujin are doing exactly that right now.” Yeonjun says, taking out his phone and tapping it a few times before holding it up to his ear. “Hello? Baby?”
“Yes?”
“I—I was talking to her, not you, Gyu.” Yeonjun says, surprised when Beomgyu responded. The boys in the room snicker, and Taehyun smacks his arm.
“Baby? You there?”
‘Hey there, yes I’m here with Lia and Ryu.’ B responds over the phone.
“Hey Baby. Ah, dress shopping, I presume?” Yeonjun says knowingly.
‘Yup! We’ve been walking around and trying on dresses for what feels like decades. I think this is the 5th shop we’ve been in. I’m exhausted.’ B says, and she did sound tired.
Yeonjun pouts. “Oh no, is my baby tired? Want me to come over and help you girls? I can carry all your bags and stuff.” he offers.
B giggles. ‘Thanks, but I think we’re good here. I don’t want to interrupt your time with the guys, plus I kind of don’t want you to see my dress until the Fall Ball. I want it to be a surprise.’ she says mysteriously.
“Oh, you have a dress already? No fair, I wanna see it! Send me pictures please.” Yeonjun says pleadingly.
‘Well, no, but I’ve tried on a few dresses that I might end up buying so I have a few prospects. And no, I want it to be surprise!’ she laughs. ‘I gotta go, we have to finish this by 6pm and we haven’t even thought about looking at shoes yet. See you later, and say hi to the boys for me!’ B says quickly before hanging up.
“Was that Yeonjun?” Ryujin asks as B puts her phone away.
B nods. “Yup, he was just checking in.” she says, going back to scanning the clothing rack for any dress that would catch her eye. “God, I hate shopping. I’m so tired, and I haven’t even bought anything yet. This feels hopeless.”
“Hey, lighten up, this is supposed to be fun!” Ryujin laughs. “Why haven’t you bought anything yet? I thought that blue dress you tried on at the shop before this one looked amazing on you. The one with the thigh high slit? It was gorgeous.”
B bites her lip. The dress was gorgeous, but she didn’t feel gorgeous when she wore it. The truth was, the closer the Fall Ball was getting, the more self-conscious she was growing about her body. She had strived to maintain her slim figure. She had always watched what she eats and tried her best to get in some exercise whenever she could, but ever since she moved away from her home, she hadn’t been able to find the time or the equipment to exercise, and she felt like it was starting to show. “Honestly, I thought I looked a bit fat, but I’ll keep the dress in mind. I think I can lose a few pounds in 2 weeks, right?”
Ryujin’s jaw drops as B says this. “Fat? Please tell me you’re joking.” she says, horrified. “B, no offense, but you could use a few extra pounds. I love you, I love how you look, but sometimes when I hug you I feel like I could snap you in half.” Ryujin admits.
“Ryu, no, I just feel like if I lost some of this fat right under my belly button, any dress would look just right.” B says, pinching the nonexistent fat.
“Please don’t.” Ryujin says. “If I see you dieting, I will force feed you. You are beautiful just the way you are, and if you don’t see that, then maybe you just need a little nudge, or a gently shove.”
Just then, Yuna calls the girls to the dressing room. “Guys! Come look, I think I’ve just found the perfect dress!” she squeals.
As the 2 girls head over to the dressing room, Yuna pulls aside the curtain and steps out of the booth dramatically, giving a twirl and a pose. “Ta-dah! What do you guys think?”
Ryujin and B looked at her in awe. She was wearing a satin gold slip dress that elegantly hung off her frame, highlighting her delicate shoulders and accentuating her long legs. The dress was held up by thin straps and fell down right above her knees.
“You look amazing.” B says. “Kai is going to love this.”
“Yes. Absolutely yes.” Ryujin says, howling with approval. “Damn, I wish I could pull off a slip dress. It’s like the right amount of chic and sexy.”
“Ryujin, please, you’d slay anything you wear.” Yuna says, blushing from their compliments.
“Easy for you to say, I’ve got man shoulders and thick thighs. Not exactly the right body fit for a dress.” Ryujin groans.
“Don’t say that!” B says. “You look good no matter what you wear!”
“Ha, and now you know how I feel about you saying the same thing.” Ryujin says, referring to their conversation earlier. “Let’s just agree that we’re all gorgeous and that we’re all gonna rock whatever dresses we buy today, alright?”
B giggles, realizing how Ryujin had cleverly turned the tables on her. “Alright. But Yuna, you definitely have to get that dress. It’s perfect.”
“Only if you get that gorgeous blue dress you tried on earlier.” Yuna sing songs. “The one with the slit. I can’t believe you didn’t get it right then and there. You looked amazing! Like the Greek goddess of the sea or something.”
“Yuna, the Greek god of the sea is Poseidon.” Ryujin informs her.
Yuna simply shrugs and cheekily says “God is a woman.” before turning back to her reflection in the fitting room.
B laughs. “Fine fine, after you buy that dress, let’s go back to the previous store and I’ll buy the blue dress. I guess it was perfect. The only thing I didn’t like about it was that I couldn’t unzip it on my own. My arms couldn’t reach the zipper.” B huffs.
“That won’t be a problem when you wear it for the Fall Ball since you’ll have Yeonjun to unzip it for you.” Ryujin says teasingly.
B blushes bright red. “Ryu! Don’t say that in front of our baby.” she shushes, motioning to Yuna, who was too busy twirling around and admiring her dress in the mirror to notice what the 2 girls were talking about. “We agreed to keep our discussions PG in front of her.”
“Don’t worry, when you put her in front of a mirror, she could stare at herself for hours.” Ryujin says dismissively. “Also, yes we did, but things between you and Yeonjun definitely aren’t PG anymore.”
It was true. Over the past few weeks, things with Yeonjun had advanced faster than she realized. They quickly went from kissing and caressing to, well, let’s just say that the kisses have gone below the neck and that the caresses have gone under their clothes.
B’s cheeks burn even hotter as the non-PG moments she shared with Yeonjun began to play in her mind. “I—well, yeah, but we shouldn’t be talking about it in front of Yuna.” B says, trying to steer away from the conversation.
Ryujin decides to steer them away from Yuna instead, leading B out of the fitting rooms and back into the racks of dresses, out of earshot. “Okay, now that Yuna’s out of the way, I want to talk to you about this.” she says, trying to maintain eye contact with B. “I know things with Yeonjun have been going great, and although I have an idea of just how far things between you two have gone, there’s just something I wanna say.”
“Alright then, what is it?” B asks, ready to hear whatever sex advice Ryujin would tell her.
“I just want to say, be careful. Your first time should be special, with someone special, and if you decide that going all the way with Yeonjun on the night of the Fall Ball will be the way to do it, then I’m 100% routing for you. But I just want to make sure that you’re 100% sure about it too.” Ryujin says, completely sincere. “And you don’t have to tell me whether or not you decide to do it, you don’t have to let me know because that’s between you and Yeonjun, but I want you to know that I’m always here if you want or need someone to talk to about it, okay?”
B blinks a couple of times, surprised by Ryujin’s sudden advice. She always pegged Ryujin to be the supportive friend who’d bring out the inner hoe goddess in her, but seeing how genuine and concerned she was made B feel a newfound fondness for her.
“Aw, Ryu, you’re so sweet.” B says, unable to stop herself from wrapping her arms around her friend. “Thank you. I promise, I’ll only do it when I’m 100% sure and ready. And I promise I’ll let you be the first to know all about it, not because I feel the need to, but because I want to.” B says, winking.
Ryujin chuckles. “Alright, but I don’t want to hear any gorey details.” she says. “Now, let’s pull Yuna out of the dressing room and to the cashier so we can buy our dresses and get the hell out of here.”
1 week before…
“Soobin! Soobinie! Hey!”
Soobin turns to look back, stopping his tracks in the middle of the hallway. He was on his way to meet up with his friends at their gazebo for lunch when a familiar voice called out his name in the hallway.
As he turns around, he’s surprised to find his cousin, Choi Arin, waving at him. He smiled and waved back, not noticing that she had a friend with her. He stays still as the 2 girls approach him. “Arin, hey, what’s up?” he asks politely. Even though he and Arin were cousins and grew up seeing each other on family occasions, he never seemed to see her around MOA. They never shared any classes together, they didn’t have any mutual extracurricular interests, and they had completely different social circles. Arin’s friend group consisted solely of girls, and until recently, Soobin’s friend group was composed of all boys. He had mentioned before that he had a cousin who studied at MOA, but he never really got the chance to introduce her to any of his friends.
“What’s up? I feel like I haven’t see you in forever!” Arin says, playfully hitting his arm. “I guess Mr. Student Council President is too busy to check up on his cousin?”
“Ah, I’m really sorry I haven’t been able to see you around campus lately. Senior has been hectic, especially these past few weeks with the Fall Ball coming up.” Soobin says apologetically. “I promise, when the whole Fall Ball thing is over, we’ll hang out, alright?” he offers.
Arin laughs lightheartedly. “Lighten up Soobin, I was just teasing! I do miss seeing you around though, and maybe we could hang out even earlier? Say, the night of the Fall Ball? I have you don’t have a date yet, is it true?”
Soobin rubs the back of his neck, flustered at the topic of his date, or lack thereof. “Um, yeah, no date for me, but it’s completely fine with me. I didn’t really have anyone I wanted to ask to the Fall Ball anyway.”
“Oh is that so?” Arin says mischievously. It’s only then when she steps aside and pulls her friend forward, introducing her to Soobin. “Soobin, this is my friend Yiren. She also does not have a date to the Fall Ball.”
Ah, so this was where this was going.
“Hello, Yiren, it’s nice to meet you.” Soobin says politely, putting on a charming smile. Yiren blushes visibly and says hi back.
“Now Soobin, I was wondering if you could help my friend Yiren here about her dateless situation?” Arin says, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively. Soobin knew that she wanted him to ask Yiren to the dance now, but he didn’t have the heart to force himself to go to the dance with someone he didn’t know. It wouldn’t be fair to Yiren to spend her evening with someone who was too busy wishing they were dancing with someone else to even pay attention to her.
Instead, Soobin quickly scans the hallway for any familiar face, until he spots one. “Oh, Jangun!” he says, spotting the boy walking out from one of the classrooms along the hall. “Jangjun, come here!” Soobin calls, motioning him over. When the boy notices Soobin calling him over, his face lights up and he waves back, quickly making his way to meet them.
“Soobin, hey!” Jangjun says excitedly. “You called me over?” Soobin had always thought that Jangjun was a nice guy, he was one of the students at campus that Soobin considered as his friend outside of his friend group. Jangjun was always willing to help in any way he could, and boy could Soobin sure use his help now.
“Jangjun, yeah, I just wanted to know if you have any plans for the Fall Ball. You taking anyone?” Soobin asks.
“Oh, no, sadly I was too busy dealing with some family business these past few weeks. I didn’t notice that the Fall Ball was getting closer until it was too late. It’s 1 week away and I still don’t have a date, so I thought it seemed hopeless to try to look for one now.” Jangjun admits, genuinely bummed out.
Soobin deliberately lightens up, straightening out his posture and tilting his head up, as if he was hit by a stroke of genius. “Ah, it’s never too late! Jangjun, this is my cousin’s friend. Her name is Yiren, and my dearest cousin Arin has just informed me that she doesn’t have a date yet either.” he says, stepping aside as he introduces the two to each other.
“Yiren, yes hi, I’ve seen you around. I think we had Biology together last year.” Jangjun says, smiling brightly at her. “I’m Jangjun, nice to meet you.”
Yiren smiles shyly at him. “Hi Jangjun, I’m Yiren. It’s nice to meet you too.”
“Well, it looks like we’re being set up here.” Jangjun says lightheartedly, laughing nervously. “I don’t mean to be too straightforward, but is there any chance you’d like to go to the Fall Ball with me?”
Yiren’s face lights up as she smiles at him and nods. “Yes, I’d really like that.”
“Great! Uh, can I have your phone number? And let me know your social media accounts too so I can add and follow you.” Jangjun says, enthusiastically giving her his phone.
As the pair walk off and get to know each other, Arin turns to glare at Soobin.
“You know I was trying to pair you and Yerin together, right?” she huffs.
“Yes, I could tell, I’m not that stupid you know.” Soobin chuckles. “Sorry cous, I just really don’t want to ask anyone to the dance. I’ll be too busy making sure that nothing goes wrong to even entertain a date anyway.”
“Oh, Soobinie, when will you learn to put yourself first.” Arin says, shaking her head. “Well, although my plan to set you up with Yerin failed, at least she got a date out of it anyway.” she says, amused as she watches her friend giggle at her newfound date.
“Don’t get me wrong, she seems like a great girl, I just… I’m not interested in taking anyway to the dance.” Soobin says. “Speaking of, who’s your date to the Fall Ball?”
Arin smiles with a glint in her eyes. “Hwang Hyunjin.”
“Wow, Hyunjin?” Soobin says, impressed. “Great catch, cousin. I’m sure you’ll enjoy your evening.” he says, knowing that Hyunjin was one of the more popular guys in their grade, and that he was always great company judging by the amount of people he was constantly surrounded with.
“Thanks, cous. I was thinking of asking you to introduce me to your student council buddies since I’ve been dying to meet them since you became president, but then Hyunjin asked me and that was that.” Arin says.
“Ah, really? Sorry, I can’t believe I haven’t introduced you to my friends yet. They’re all unavailable though so even if I had introduced you to them, you wouldn’t have gotten a date out of it.” Soobin laughs, making Arin snort. “But I’ll introduce you to them soon, I promise.”
Arin sighs. “It’s fine, Soobin. Just make sure you come find me at the Fall Ball and say hi, alright? I’m sure you’ll have the time to do it, since you won’t be glued to a date all night.” she says, playfully pinching his cheeks before walking away.
4 days before…
“The more I think about it, the more it hurts. I don’t know what to do, Binnie. I just wanted to get away.”
She moves closer to him, her ass sliding against the cold hard floor, closing the gap between them as she leans her head on his shoulder. She feels him go still for a moment, before he takes a deep breath, her head rising and falling along with his shoulders as he does so, as he takes one of her hands in his and starts to trace gentle circles on her skin.
He speaks, and she sees his mouth moving, but no sound seems to come out, the words lodged deep down in her memory.
When he finishes speaking, she sighs and says “Maybe it should’ve been you, Soobin.”
B wakes with a start, her whole body visibly tensing up as her eyes fly open. She instantly lifts her head up and sees both Yeonjun and Soobin looking at her with concern.
“Baby? Are you okay? Did you have a bad dream?” Yeonjun asks, putting his hand on top of hers. She looks around and realises that she had fallen asleep during class, Creative writing, their last period for the day.
B squeezes her eyes shut before she lets them meet his. “Yeah, a bad dream I guess.” she says. “Don’t worry about it. I shouldn’t have fallen asleep in class in the first place.”
Yeonjun smiles at her fondly. “Sir Kim’s just letting us discuss ideas for our projects, and since my partner’s not here, I’m hanging around with you and Soobin.” he says, and that’s when she remembers that Soobin was seated next to her on the other side.
She turns to him, unable to meet his gaze just yet, still confused by the dream she just had.
“B? Got any ideas you wanna share?” he asks, his dimple popping out as he gives her a small smile. “It’s alright if you don’t, you can just sleep if you want. I’m sure we’ll come up with something.”
What was up with her dream? And why did it feel so real? She remembers the feeling of his hand on hers, of his thumb tracing circles along the surface of her skin, she felt is as clear as day now.
“Maybe it should’ve been you, Soobin.”
Why would she tell him that in her dream? Was it possible that she had some underlying feelings for him? What should’ve been him? What was her subconscious mind trying to tell her?
“B?” he asks again, his smile faltering.
She finally meets his gaze then, and she plasters on a smile. “No, I shouldn’t sleep in class. I guess we’ll just go along with what we’ve been doing so far. We can just take random pictures of each other whenever we hang out and make stories out of them in our posts.”
Soobin nods. “That’s what I was thinking. It shouldn’t be too hard since we’re stuck with this until the end of the term.”
“Yeah, it’ll be a breeze.” she says, feigning positivity. The truth was, the dream she just had was worrying her and was very confusing.
Why would she and Soobin be in that position? Why would she say that to Soobin? She knew it was just a dream and probably just her subconscious mind making up scenarios, but why did it feel so real?
1 day before…
It was Friday night, the night before the Fall Ball, yet B still couldn’t get the strange dream with Soobin out of her head.
It constantly replayed in her head, like a broken film reel, and the more it played, the clearer the picture became.
Although some parts were still hazy and some words still came to her memory as muffled sounds, she was able to discern that she and Soobin were alone in a small space, that they were sitting on the floor together, that she was wearing the dress she wore the night of Yeonjun’s birthday party, that she was very very drunk, and that she was crying.
Now her main question was why.
Why was she alone in a small space, sitting on the floor on the night of Yeonjun’s party, very very drunk and crying…
...with Soobin?
Letting her curiosity get the best of her, B decides to send Soobin a text, wanting answers once and for all.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Upon seeing her final question, Soobin froze. He could feel himself start to sweat as he contemplated what he should do next. Although B’s recollection of the night of Yeonjun’s birthday party was clearing, it was still painfully clear that she had no clue about Yeonjun locking lips with Rose later that evening. What Soobin didn’t know was if Yeonjun’s recollection of that evening was coming to him as well.
Soobin found himself facing the very dilemma he wanted to avoid.
Should he tell B the truth, the whole truth about what else he saw that night? Or should he lie and let Yeonjun deal with the problem of telling B about the kiss?
Soobin had a method of dealing with such dilemnas. He simply closed his eyes, took 3 deep breaths, and made a decision.
He typed out his reply and hit send before he could second guess his decision.
Tumblr media
His heart ached as he realized that he had just lied to B, but he knew it was the right, or rather the less evil, choice. She didn’t need to know that he had practically confessed to having feelings for her that night, nor did she need to know that she had wondered out loud about the what ifs between she and him. He didn’t mean keeping those parts of the night in the dark.
But what he truly felt awful about was the one thing he witnessed that he didn’t have the authority to tell her. As he texted B goodbye and wished her a good night, he quickly sent a text to one more person.
Snow White AU
N/A: So, a conversation leads to this. I love dark fairytales  and I love the mythos of Snow White, some explanations here: No Dwarfs will be used, I read many versions where the Dwarves are creepy that I get a bit miffed now, so, no Dwarves and THE Queen and Kitty aren´t related, Kitty is not the lost princess, she´s a simple maid that is caught in this madness.
@djinmer4 @sailorstar9 @dannybagpipesarecalling @discordsworld @look-ma-no-hands336
In the Kingdom of Quarela, a place ruled by fair rulers, a Queen is considered the most prettiest woman in the land, in fact, her beauty was so legendary that Kings fight to marry her, of course, the winner was the king of Quarela.
However, her beauty hides her thirst for power, Quarela is a kingdom that thrives and prosper for mutants and humans, and this makes them in the centrefold of many political debates.
The Necromancer is a powerful ally, but, the Queen was under the impression he would take her as his pupil, take he did, but, not as a pupil, however, as a proof of his good will, the necromancer gives her a gift. A mirror, a magical mirror can answer her answers.
And the mirror remains in the place as the kingdom grows and blossom even more, meanwhile, Kitty Pryde a maid that has the luck to enter in this profession, at least, is what she used to think.
"Pryde" the maid chef called Kitty waves at the maid, they finished the breakfast and is time to do her chores "I´m here just a minute" she is running to reach the others, maids, when she passed by the hunter. A man covers by heavy clocks and holding a dagger on his hands.
The Queen asked for the mirror, daily and obsessively, how pretty the woman truly is and the mirror never falter in the answer. "You´re the prettiest one" and that answer always makes the Queen smiles and everyone benefits on her good mood.
Even Kitty, the new maid, who does her chores with the other ladies and everyone have a good time, until, one day, as she´s ready to do her chores once, again and again, passing by the hunter( always covered with his clock) things change.
"Pryde, sorry, this time, the Queen has different orders, you´re to stay here and do...nothing," the maid chef said and Kitty is confused.
Meanwhile, the Queen is on her chambers demanding a different answer violently as her fist bleed(she punch the magical mirror and only she got hurt) "mirror, mirror on the wall, tell me who is the fairest of them all"
"Not you, my queen" the mirror replied over and over until as the Queen demands more information "Is a woman working for you, her beauty, intelligence and strong will is far more attractive than anything the Queen could hope to imagine" the mirror repeats the information and the Queen stays in her room for days.
She keeps reeling in her mind about the woman, who could be? Until a name drops in her mind. "That new maid, Kitty Pryde, is she...it can only be she" the Queen speaks madly and banned Kitty Pryde to do her chores for more days.
"Mirror, mirror on the wall, tell me, confirm me this for me, your master, is Kitty Pryde the prettiest woman in this land?" the Queen´s beauty vanish as her skin is unwashed, her hair is untamed and unravelled and her lips are dry as well with dirty bags under her eyes.
"Yes, Kitty Pryde is the prettiest woman in the land" the mirror replied making the Queen hurl in pain and rage, while this happens the necromancer laughs at the show having no idea who Kitty Pryde is.
The next day, Kitty Pryde was called by the Queen herself, and the encounter was not pleasant, actually, the castle is no longer pleasant as the woman send the other ladies away. The Queen looks enraged at the mere presence of Kitty Pryde.
"Can I help you, your majesty?" she made a bow and speak with a reverence and respect. The Queen hated her tone of her voice. So sweet and kind and so youth....youthful she is no more.
"No, return to your place, now" the Queen order and she notices how some of the guards look at Kitty how they used to look at Kitty and she knows they won´t dare to kill the prettiest woman in the land.
The time flies by, and the Queen sends a message to the necromancer, one of the best assassins in the world, she has a request for him. The man arrives in court without any ceremony. The Queen is still raging about Kitty Pryde.
"I want you to take this woman, Kitty Pryde, take her to the forest to pick the flowers and then I want you to remove her heart and bring me her body, I shall feast on her organs and blood" the Queen has a demented smile on her face and the necromancer hardly cares.
So, the necromancer takes a good disguise and is head to where Kitty is. The woman does not speak as the man, ginger that is smiling too much for her like. Takes her to the part where has many flowers and said if Kitty wanted to pick flowers she can do.
As the woman gives her back, the necromancer is ready to do his mission, however, Kitty was faster than him and taking rocks on her pocket she throws at him. And, fearless, kick the dagger the man was planning to use and is using her own knife to press against his neck.
"What the hell are you thinking?" Kitty mutter between her teeth as her eyes gaze upon his. The necromancer is far too impressed to care for his neck.
"Fraun, the Queen orders me to kill you, she´s jealous of your beauty" Kitty does not seem flattered and Kurt can understand why. "it was nothing personal, the woman wants to eat your heart and drink your blood to remain beautiful and if I don´t return..." Kurt made a pause and gulps showing fear of a situation that will never happen.
Kitty frowns at him and removes her knife. "I´ll run away, I should have done that ages ago, and you" she points her knife at him "you should use an animal instead and maybe consider changing job"
And with taking she runs away without ever looking back, leaving the necromancer, who is still under the disguise, far too impressed at the situation.
Kitty run and run, until, her feet stumble into a small cottage in the forest, it was clearly abandoned judging by the decaying state the cottage is. Kitty can´t run forever and as she knows she´s out of Quarela´s propriety, she somehow believes to be saved...for today.
The Queen is deliriously happy with the present the necromancer gives, even goes to eat the heart in one go, however, the mirror still says Kitty Pryde is the fairest of them all. "No, is impossible, I eat the heart, her heart."
The mirror then replies "is the heart of an animal you eat, Kitty Pryde is still the prettiest woman in the land" and the Queen is raging again.
The next day, Kitty Pryde is on the cottage cleaning the mess and making habitable. The animals of the forest decide to help her(deep down, she wonder if the mirror is correct and if she´s the prettiest woman in the land as an only pretty woman make animals obey in such fashion, then again, beauty is a curse too)
"Hello" the necromancer appears wearing no disguise and Kitty is awry of him. The animals seem to be aware of him too. "You´re the new resident of this cottage?"
"Maybe, maybe not" she replied having a knife behind her back and Kurt raises his hands saying he wants to talk, and make a far curious question "do you know who Am I?"
"NO" she replied without hesitation and Kurt is cutting loses here. A good act can take you to any place and Kurt talk how he was wrong by the Queen, she orders him to be exiled and he is living in the forest. His tragic tale seems to have moved the animals and Kitty.
"My name is Kurt Wagner, and yours?" he asked.
"Kitty Pryde and I too, lost everything, because of the Queen" she then tells her tale and is crying and while Kurt is evil, he can´t help by feel bad about this, well, is not like there are never innocent victims in his pranks before and besides, Kitty is alive and fine. There´s no time to cry for the past.
The Queen asked for the mirror more answers, but, for the first time, the mirror is completely silent, meanwhile, Kurt and Kitty are talking and getting to know each other. Kurt forgets his little prank.
The mirror is now only a mirror and the woman went fully insane. She knows magic, well enough to locate Kitty Pryde and kills her, she disguises herself as a hag and goes off to the location of one Kitty Pryde, sadly, the woman never notices Kitty wasn´t alone.
Kitty is living in the cottage has almost a month, and she knows where the town is and manages to get a job and the cottage is far different from before(and the people in the town likes Kitty and she´s not alone) Kurt, for his part, does not need to worry about his disguise with Kitty as this town is  funded by him. They can play along.
"So, you´re a wizard that research?" she asked amused offering him apple pie and he gladly accepts "how that?"
Kurt takes a piece of the pie greedily and comments his job, to be honest, he never lied about his profession, per se, only omit certain details. "Well, I got to know lots of places and people, while I´m under this exile, I can work around my way to see more of the world"
"Do you miss home? your family?"
"I never had a home, Katzchen," his tone is sincere and memories of the past surface again on his mind, Kitty, gentle once noticing his expression, take his hand into hers and only says nothing as this is enough for him.
Suddenly, a hag shows up and Kitty goes greet the poor woman while Kurt shakes his head at this amateur attempt. The woman offers an apple to Kitty, but, Kitty not knowing is a ruse, speak she has more than enough apples.
Kurt is annoyed by this, and, tired of the old prank. So, without caring, he throws a spell on the hag and the woman let a loud shriek and quickly morphed to the Queen.
Kitty runs away from the woman and Kurt has a charming smile on his face. Using a spell the man, let the Queen try to cast a nasty spell, but, Kurt happy for this little spell of his now has an appropriate response to act in a more violent way.
He burned the Queen to the ground, while, Kitty hugs him and locks away. It takes one minute, tops, to burn her completely, but, the smell remains. Kurt is smiling, while, Kitty is still hugging her.
"Is ok, Katzchen, she´s gone" Kurt promised. And Kitty slowly looks into his eyes. "Is it over?" she asked still hugging him.
"Yes, Katzchen, is over, we´re free of her. We can have a life together...if you want" Kurt speaks in an understanding tone.
"I´d want that, Kurt, you´re now my fuzzy prince charming" Kitty states lovingly.
This all started with a joke, but, in the end, Kurt, the necromancer ended up founding Kitty and has no plans of letting her go.
Fire’s Gone - a.i.
Tumblr media
Prompt: My mother only had two basic rules. Don’t ever fall in love, and never summon a demon. I couldn’t honor either.
Requested: sort of
Warnings: swearing, smut, demonic ideology (?)
Word Count: 2,000+
Tag List: @cartiercalum @vaporlewk @cakestan @dankpunks @irwinofficial @irwlns @calumsbabylon @candidcalum @tothemoonmikey @obsidiancosmos @perfectlycake @polarizehood @luke2k18 @caulm5sos
When life gets boring, it really gets boring. I lay in my bed, staring at the ceiling. As if the white popcorn mould would change the more I watched it. I picked up my phone and opened Safari, typing in ‘what to do when you’re bored.’ The search results were fairly basic, mostly consisting of things I hadn’t done since elementary school. Read a book, play outside, take a walk, call a friend. But one stuck out more than the others. ‘Summon a demon.’ I furrowed my eyebrows for a moment, thinking of how I would actually go about doing this activity. I stood from my bed and cleared a space on the hardwood floors. I created a new search, this time for ‘how to summon a demon.’
Step 1. Create a pentagram on a flat surface
Step 2. Place and light candles at each point
Step 3. Recite the incantation
Step 4. Make the demon kill your enemies
“That’s dark.” I mumbled to myself as I walked down to my garage.
“What are you up to, sweetie?” My mom asked, not looking up from her newspaper.
“Do we still have chalk in the garage? I want to try something.” I said, hoping she wouldn’t push it further.
“Yeah, your sister put it back on the shelf.” My mom said, finally looking at me. “I have to run to the office, will you be okay here alone?”
“Of course, Mom. I’ve been home alone a million times before.” I rolled my eyes and went into the garage, searching for the chalk. I stood on a step stool and grabbed the bucket of chalk. “Hm, does it matter what color?” I asked myself. I shook my head and grabbed the green stick before putting the bucket back. I went back inside, closing the door behind me.
“Alright, I’m heading out. I don’t think I’ll be home until after dinner, so you’ll have to feed yourself.” My mom said and grabbed her keys.
“Okay. Bye, Mom.” I said, going back up to my room. I closed my door and pulled my dresser against the door so no one could get in, just in case my mom came back early. I looked down at the cleared area before I started drawing the pentagram. I grabbed my various scented candles and placed them at each point. “Well, I hope demons like the smells of lavender and cherry blossom.” I mumbled and lit them. I picked up my phone and skimmed over the incantation. “I don’t speak Latin.” I shook my head and began sounding out each word. When I had finished the incantation, I was disappointed to see that there was no demon standing in the pentagram, like I expected. I sighed and knelt down on the floor, ready to blow out the candles.
“Leave that one, I like the smell of lavender.” I let out a small scream as I heard the unfamiliar voice. I turned around and looked at the strange man sitting on my bed. “This isn’t the bedroom I expected of someone summoning a demon.”
“You’re not real.” I said, mostly to myself.
“Oh, I’m very real.” He chuckled darkly. “The name’s Ashton, and you are?”
“Y/N.” I said, still staring at him. “Demons aren’t real.”
“Clearly, we are, because I’m right fucking here.” Ashton rolled his eyes. “God, humans are fucking ignorant.”
“We are not ignorant. We don’t exactly see demons every day.” I crossed my arms.
“You’d be surprised how many you actually see. We’re very discreet.” Ashton smirked. “You know that girl in your French II class you hated in high school? She was a demon.”
“Sure, she was a bitch, but she wasn’t a demon.” I shook my head.
“She was. Her name was Arabella, she was sent up here as a punishment.” Ashton said. “We demons have strict orders, and she never liked to follow them.”
“You’re lying.” I shook my head again.
“I’m not lying. What’s got you skeptical?” Ashton asked, patting the spot next to him.
“Well,” I said, sitting next to him. “I don’t exactly believe in heaven or hell. I don’t believe in God or Satan.”
“Most people that summon us don’t actually believe in any God or afterlife. 85% of the time, people summon us just to see if it works. Kind of like you did, except not as bored as you are.”
“How did you know I was bored?” I asked, looking up at him.
“We know everything. We can watch humans from where we reside. We’re each assigned a sector and we can watch all the humans in that sector. You were in mine, so I’ve watched you before.” Ashton shrugged.
“That’s just creepy.” I shook my head. “You watch us?”
“It’s not creepy, we like to laugh at how stupid humans are. Like how I laughed at you when you decided to climb that tree when you were in 2nd Grade.”
“You’ve been watching me that long? That was almost 15 years ago.”
“It was 13, but who’s counting.” Ashton chuckled. “Did you do any research before summoning me?”
“The only research I did was how to do it.” I explained.
“Well, you used the wrong color for what you wanted. You should’ve used Yellow if you were just bored. Do you know what happens when a demon is summoned on green?”
“Color does matter?” I asked, looking at him.
“Absolutely. Red means you want to make a deal, black means you want death, blue means you want someone else dead, yellow is for experiments, orange means you have questions.” Ashton rambled on.
“Just tell me what green means.” I rolled my eyes.
“Green means you want sex.” Ashton looked down at me, his hazel eyes flicking black. I widened my eyes and stared at him.
“I-I.. I didn’t.. I didn’t know.” I stammered.
“Yeah, clearly. We already know you didn’t do your fucking research.” Ashton’s eyes turned back to hazel as he rolled them.
“You’re such a dick.” I scoffed. “Like I’d want to fuck you anyways.”
“Oh, baby girl wants to get sassy, does she?” Ashton chuckled. I gulped and looked at him, the hazel in his eyes growing dark. “Tell me, Y/N, have you ever imagined yourself in this position?” He asked, bringing his face down to mine. Words seemed to escape my mind as his lips pressed against mine. I hummed softly and leaned into him, his hand coming to my cheek. His other hand slid up my thigh, gripping the skin just below the hem of my shorts. He brought his lips to my neck, his teeth nipping at the skin. I moaned softly, my head lulling back. “Tell me you want me.” Ashton mumbled, his lips sucking at the skin of my neck.
“I want you.” I moaned, tangling my fingers in his hair. “Fuck, I’m all yours.” I whimpered softly, the wetness pooling in my thong as Ashton pressed his lips to mine roughly. His hands found the hem of my t-shirt and I lifted my arms, allowing him to pull it off. One hand slipped behind my back to undo my bra as the other pushed my legs apart. Once my bra landed on the floor, Ashton’s hands pressed into my shoulders, pushing me back onto my bed. I gasped softly as his lips attached to the skin of my thigh.
“You’re never going to want anyone else but me, baby girl.” Ashton smirked, pulling my shorts down. He kissed my clit over the fabric of my thong, causing my hips to jerk slightly. “You better keep these still.” He said, pushing my hips down. “Understood?” He raised an eyebrow.
“Yeah.” I nodded, looking down at him.
“Yeah?” His eyes narrowed, his fingertips digging into my hips.
“Yes, Daddy.” I whimpered softly.
“That’s more like it.” He smirked and pressed his thumb to my clit over my thong. “Are you gonna be a good girl for daddy?” He asked, rubbing slowly. I moaned softly and arched my back off the bed.
“Yes. Yes, Daddy.”
“That’s a good girl.” Ashton smirked, pulling my thong down my legs. He settled between my legs, keeping them spread. I gasped out a moan as his middle finger entered my heat.
“Ah, fuck.” I moaned, bucking my hips.
“What did I say about keeping still?” Ashton hummed, using his free hand to push my hips down.
“S-sorry, Daddy. It just feels so good.” I whimpered as he added another finger.
“Daddy’s gonna make you feel so good, baby girl.” Ashton smirked, fucking his fingers into me quickly. I moaned louder, gripping the sheets tightly. My eyes rolled back as he curled his fingers in my heat.
“Oh, God, fuck.” I moaned loudly, the familiar feeling building in the pit of my stomach. All too soon, the feeling was gone. I whined softly as he removed his fingers, slipping them into his mouth.
“Get on your hands and knees for daddy.” He smirked, licking his lips. I nodded slowly and rolled onto my stomach before lifting myself onto my knees. His hands found the skin of my ass, his fingers kneading it gently. I gasped as one hand came down on the skin, sending a stinging sensation up my spine. “You’ve got the prettiest ass, baby girl.” Ashton chuckled, sending another slap to the skin.
“Fuck me, Daddy.” I whimpered, wiggling my ass slightly. I moaned out loudly as his trailed across my heat. His tongue wiggled slightly, lapping up my juices. “Daddy, m’gonna cum if you keep that up.” I moaned, arching my back. His tongue dipped into my heat as his fingers down my clit. I spread my legs further and bucked my hips back against his tongue. His fingers rubbed my clit in slow circles as his tongue flicked against my entrance. “Oh, my God.” I squeezed my eyes shut as the bubbling returned in my stomach. His name fell from my lips like a mantra as I slipped over the edge, releasing on his tongue.
“Your pretty pussy tastes so good, baby girl.” Ashton hummed, licking his lips. “Can’t wait to bury my cock in it.” He smirked, sending a slap to my ass. I moaned and arched my back slightly.
“Please, Daddy. I need your cock.” I whined, turning my head to look at him. He smirked down at me and pulled his shirt off slowly, his biceps flexing. I bit my lip and watched as he pushed his jeans and boxers down, his cock springing up against his stomach.
“You’re dripping for me, baby girl.” Ashton smirked, running the tip of his cock between my folds.
“Please, fuck me. Fill me with your cock, Daddy. Please, I need it.” I whined, trying to buck my hips back. One hand gripped my hip tightly, sure enough to leave bruises. The other guiding his cock deeper into my heat. I moaned loudly as he stilled, filling me completely.
“Oh, you take my cock so well.” Ashton moaned, his head lulling back. I whimpered softly as he pulled out so only his tip was left. He thrusted in hard, his hips slamming into my ass. Both hands were on my hips as he pounded into me, the room filled with the sounds of moans and skin against skin.
“Fuck, Ashton.” I moaned, arching my back. I moaned loudly as his hand tangled in my hair, pulling me up so my back was against his chest.
“What did you call me?” He growled into my ear.
“I’m sorry, Daddy.” I moaned, clenching around him. His hips snapped into mine, the angle nearly sending me over the edge. I gasped as his hand found its way around my throat.
“You love having daddy’s hand around your throat, don’t you?” Ashton smirked, tightening his grip. I moaned loudly, though it came out strangled. “Such a filthy slut for daddy.” Ashton groaned, pounding his hips up against mine.
“M’gonna cum.” I gasped, gripping his wrist.
“Yeah, you wanna cum for daddy? You want to cum on my cock?” He growled in my ear, pistoning his hips into mine.
“Yes, yes, Daddy.” I whimpered. “Please, make me cum.” I begged, clenching around him.
“Go on, cum for Daddy.” Ashton smirked, bringing his hand from my neck to my clit, rubbing fast circles against the sensitive nub.
“Daddy, oh, God. Fuck.” I moaned loudly as I released, my thighs shaking. Ashton continued to pound into me, his cock twitching. He groaned lowly as he spilled into me, his hips stilling.
“Fuck, you take it so good.” Ashton groaned as he pulled out, cum dripping down my thighs. “Mm, I’m definitely coming back to see this sight again soon.” Ashton smirked, rubbing my thighs gently.
“You’ll be back?” I asked, turning to look at him.
“I’ll be back for you.” Ashton smirked, pressing his lips to mine.
He was right, he did come back. Not always physically, sometimes he was there in my dreams or in the back of my mind. The physical time together was never the same. The sex was always intense and satisfying, but that too was never the same. Some days Ashton was rough and unrelenting, and other days he was gentle and sensual. The one thing that always remained the same was the burning in my heart every time he left. My mother only had two basic rules: don’t ever fall in love, and never summon a demon. I couldn’t honor either.
Police Officer! Hwang Minhyun
Tumblr media
happy one month of scenarios from cannedapricot!! i can’t believe it’s been a month already! here’s a super short and hopefully sweet police officer! hwang minhyun. no one has gifed minhyun in the police uniform yet bUT IT’S OK I LOVE THIS GIF TOO
welcome to hongdae’s main police station
if you enter and head down the hallway, then turn right, you’ll be met with the sight of a couple dozen cops buzzing around the office
some interrogating sleasy looking men
some annoyed that they have to deal with the same crowd of teenagers again.
minhyun worked as a senior inspector at this very station
it wasn’t super high on the ranks but it was certainly impressive for this age (i think,,,, don’t quote me on it)
his co-workers loved calling him the emperor of the station because reALLY THAT’S WHAT HE’S LIKE
he sank back into his chair, tired eyes gazing over the hectic office
and downed his nth cup of coffee for the evening
this was a normal sight in the station
people talking in hushed tones, phones ringing, someone from thaT ONE SQUAD OF TEENAGERS THROWING UP
OVER THE NEWLY CLEANED FL O O R
MINHYUN LOWKEY WANTS TO THROW UP HIMSELF
INH A L ES
IT’s ok
it was worse on a friday night
or saturday early morning
minhyun was just,,,,, ready for a nap
and so without knowing, his eyes end up closing by themselves
until he was woken by junior inspector! jaehwan
“lol hyung if your that tired we could change spots-”
“as long as i’m breathing, you’re not getting promoted”
he has no idea how jaehwan even made it thus far
“what do you need now?”
minhyun says as he sits up in his chair
“we finaLLY GOT YOU AN ASSISTANT!!!!”
“what”
“all of us thought that you were working way too hard,,,, sOOOOooOoOO WE GOT YOU A GIFT!!!”
“i’m not a thing to be given, kim jaehwan”
you said, popping into minhyun’s sight from behind jaehwan
“oops??”
you ignored jaehwan lol
“hi!! i’m y/n! i’ll be assisting you from now on!!!!”
“oh,,,, uh,,,, hi,,,,, are you trained?”
trained???
what are you???? a dog????
jk
honestly,,,,
you were just looking for a job to earn some extra money while you look for a stable job
and as if it was a miracle!!!11!!111
your old friend fromm high school, kim jaehwan, rang you up and asked if you were interested in working with a good looking dude
aka him
you shot him down
“ok how about a more average looking dude”
you agreed because wow you were running out of instant noodles
and real quick too
hE NEVER TOLD YOU ANYTHING ABOUT THIS JOB????
HE JUST CAME OVER ONE DAY AND SORTA KIDNAPPED YOU OVER TO THE STATION
YOU WERE NOT DRESSED PROFFESSIONALLY
to this day, you’re still suspicious about how jaehwan knew you needed a job
he said that he had magical powers
in reality though
he saw your snapchat story
ft. your cat and you complaining about how much your wallet was crying
and thought about how tired minhyun looked everyday
anD CONNECTED DOTS
back to your awk asf meeting with your boss
“ha,,,, tr a in e d????”
“o H,,,,, UM IT’S OK,,, I’LL JUST TEACH YOU HOW TO DO THE PAPERWORK”
cue jaehwan wiping invisible tears
“ah,,,, minhyun finally gets to relax a little *fake sobs*”
“you can leave now”
you and minhyun say at the same time
and you figured that the two of you would get along just fine
skip forward a few weeks
you and minhyun weren’t the stiff pair from two weeks ago
in fact, you two didn’t seem like just co-workers
after taking off some of the weight from minhyun’s shoulders, minhyun seemed more energetic
instead of sitting at his desk tiredly after a day of work, he’d bring in two cups of hot coffee and meet you with a bright smile
you would return his smile of course
you and minhyun had this system were you would take most of the paper work and minhyun would take care of anything that requires him to physically be there lol
and he would return every evening with two cups of coffee and his 1000000 watt smile
iT WAS ADORABLE
ALL THE OTHER OFFICERS LOWKEY COO OVER YOU TWO
IT WAS LIKE YOU GUYS WERE AN OLD MARRIED COUPLE TO BE HONEST
IT SEEMED LIKE YOU’VE DONE THIS JOB TOGETHER FOR YEARS
also,,,, they’ve seen the way minhyun looks away from his share of the work just to stare at you
he loves how hard working you are
of course, you were adorable normally buT SOMEHOW
YOU GET 10x MORE WHEN YOU’RE CONCENTRATING
but uh
minhyun was hopeless with girls
his co-workers figured that out
with a helpful tip off from jaehwan lmao
they legit have a group chat dedicated to playing cupid for you two
mostly gossips though
“heY JAEHWAN HAVE THEY COME BACK FROM THEIR STROLL YET???”
by stroll they mean the night duties minhyun has around the block
he takes you along with him soooooo 👀👀👀👀
you’d be lying if you said that minhyun didn’t look 10x as good under the streetlights at night
you’d also be lying if you said that you had no feelings for him
YOU LOWKEY GET A HEART ATTACK WHENEVER YOU LOOK AT HIM
HOW DOES SOMEONE SO ETHEREAL EXIST
and his cute actions don’t help either
he openly complains to you whenever some drunk person throws up on the tiles he cleaned personally  h o u r s before
spoiler
he looks cute whining
you didn’t think he cared as much about you as you care for him
untilll ll ll lllllll  👀 👀 👀 👀
one day
you weren’t feeling 100%
so you rang up the station and told them that you were gonna take a day off
but for some reason cough the other officers purposely didn’t say anything cough minhyun didn’t get the message
when he arrived at the station, he expected you to be at your desk (less than three meters away from his own) like you were every day
bUT YOU WE R EN ‘T
enter: panic mode
he thinks that you had enough of him and quit without telling him
minhyun gets your address from jaehwan
who was totally ready and even had your address written down on a piece of paper
minhyun didn’t even think about it lol
he zoomed over to your place
you were just lounging on your couch, your roommate gone to work for the day
you were trying your best to not let snot flow out of your nose l ma o
while going through your phone
until you heard,
frANTIC KNOCKING
your phone dropped onto your face
thAT SHIT HURTS
YOUR CAT RAN AWAY FROM YOU FROM THE NOISE IT MADE LMAO
wincing, you shuffle towards the door
not looking through the peephole, you open the door, still rubbing your nose lol
there stood hwang minhyun, emperor of the hongdae police station, trying his best to catch his breath
THE BOY RAN ALL THE WAY HERE
PROPS TO YOU MY MAN
“what- minhyun? what are you doing-”
minhyun suddenly holds you in a tight ass hug
“i’m so sorry for whatever i’ve done to offend you,,,, please don’t hate me”
you’re confused™
“what are you talking about? i took a day off because i wasn’t feeling well”
 O H
W E L L
I S N ’ T T H I S A W K W A R D
clears throat awkwardly
also releases you awkwardly
rubs neck awkwardly
“i thought that,,,, maybe i did something,,,,, and you quit the job,,,”
he said his voice getting smaller with each word
yOU LAUGHED
“YOU’RE ADORABLE”
minhyun becomes mintomato
“a-anyway,,, you said you weren’t feeling well? i guess i’ll make you some soup then.”
he pushes you aside and lets himself in
iNHALES SHARPLY
THE MESS YOU HAVE MADE WITH YOUR TISSUES
“y/n. what is this?”
“ah shit”
minhyun turns to you with the creepiest smile
you immediately ran to chuck the used tissues away
minhyun somehow digs out your rubber gloves and sanitizer in the meantime
and starts spraying e v e r y t h i n g
makes you sit on the couch and not do anything
after he’s satisfied that everything was spotless
he turns to make you soup
you sigh in relief because thaNK THE HEAVENS YOUR ROOMMATE WENT GROCERY SHOPPING YESTERDAY
so you sit on the couch, on your phone, as minhyun slaves away in the kitchen
you look over once in a while
you saw him cutting vegetables (bOYF MATERIAL RIGHT THERE LADIES)
you also saw him ringing up the station presumably making some excuse that he couldn’t make it anymore (the co-workers know exactly what he was doing tho 👀👀)
then you saw him mucking around on his phone
seemingly like he was texting???
jaehwan perhaps
bUT UNKNOWN TO YOU
MINHYUN WAS GOING OVER WHAT TO SAY FOR HIS GREAT CONFESSION PLAN™
while the soup was taking it’s time obviously
he was typing out phrases in his messaging app
the contact being you
y/n i like you. date me
too straight-forward. no
y/n your honestly the most prettiest girl i’ve ever met lets go on a date
ew too cheesy. no
y/n i like you and your dumb quirks. even though your sick right now, you’re still the most adorable human being i’ve ever seen
lol too dumb. no-
oH SHIT
HIS THUMB BRUSHED THE SEND BUTTON
AND
IT
SENT
HE HEARS THE DING FROM THE OTHER ROOM
OH SHI-
“hey minhyun did you just send me a message?”
“y ea h ?”
he squeaked
you chuckle
“hey,, come here for a bit”
he shuffles over
you pull him by the collar and press a small kiss on his cheek
“i like you and your dumb clean freak self as well”
minhyun squeaks again
I love you. (HR Wells x reader)
Tumblr media
Hi there! First HR imagine ever! Hope you like it!
Prompt: Imagine being the only one that's truly nice to HR wells & when someone becomes rude towards him U literally fight them/stick up for him. You invite him to live at your house you being completely oblivious to your feelings towards him. Maybe he's the one to make the first move one night at your house or lab things get heated from there & admit each other's feelings. Something like that really fluffy & cute :) maybe even from his point of view how he sees you or something up to you. Thank you :)
Requested by Anonymous,
"Greetings Earthlings" Said the new Harrison Cisco, Caitlin and Harry chose (well Harry rejected him, but he got chosen anyway). Everyone looked at him weirdly.
“I don’t talk like that, heh. I was joking.” He said, you found his joke funny and snorted. Making your friends look at you, HR looked at you too and smiled at you charmingly. Harry looked at the two of you and glared.
Jesse and Harry said their goodbyes, and before going Harry hugged you, whispering in your ear.
“I don’t trust him, (y/n). Keep an eye on him for me, okay?”
“Okay. Goodbye Harry, I’m going to miss you. Even if you are an asshole sometimes.”
“I’ll miss you too. You know how to reach me, if something goes horribly wrong.”
You hugged Jesse and the two took off. But before being suctioned by the portal, Harry tried to say something but nobody hear what he said. HR joked about what he was trying to say. But no one thought it was funny.
“So, do you have a Big belly burger on earth 1?” HR asked.
“Some things never change…”
//////*\\\\\\
“Where will he stay?” You asked.
“Harry stayed here.” Cisco said. “ But I’m not sure of letting him alone here….”
“And what do you suggest?” Wally asked.
“He can come with me.” You said “ I can keep an eye on him”
“You’re sure, (y/n)? “ Barry asked.
“Yes don’t worry”
////*\\\\
Everyone had already leaved when HR approached you with a charming smile.
“How come you are still here, Miss (y/n)?”
“I volunteered myself to take you in. You can stay with me in my home or stay here alone.”
“I would never deny a beautiful girl” He kissed your hand and smiled cheekily.
You laughed, he was cute.
“What are we waiting for! LET’S GO!”
“Okay, okay” You laughed as HR started pulling you towards the exit.
////*\\\\
Days passed and the team found out that this Harrison Wells knew nothing about science.  Cisco refused to trust HR, and Wally called him a conman. He tried to persuade the team that he can be of some use to them, suggesting ideas, acting as their "muse", and taking part in the adventures so that he could later write a book about them.
You were disappointed. All of you were. After HR pleaded for them to let him stay and help, Barry allowed HR to stay for some time and try to prove his worth as a teammate, before going back to Earth Nineteen.
You were the most disappointed of all, you even felt a bit betrayed even.
“(Y/n), I’m sorry. I-I didn’t want to disappoint you… But I assure you I can be useful!”
“I …I know you are useful, HR. You may not be as good in science as the other Harrison, but you have charisma and you are a skilled trainer and leader. You don’t have to prove it to me. It doesn’t matter what the other say, HR. I trust you”
HR smiled at you and your heart fluttered. A warm feeling pooled in your belly.
/////*\\\\\
(Y/n) was really nice. She was the only one who really made me feel welcomed. I think I’m in love with her.
But really,
Who wouldn’t?
With her beautiful (e/c) eyes, those luscious pink lips, her silky (h/c) locks and that sexy body.
God
She turned me on so much.
It’s hell on earth since I’ve been living with her. Seeing her in pajamas, and bumping with her in the bathroom, only a towel covering her body.
Gotta say, I needed to “ take care of a problem”  after the incident.
If you know what I mean.
Also, seeing her panties and bras in the hamper… I t made warm pool in my tummy.
God, (y/n) what are you doing to me?
/////*\\\\\
“So, what  movie you want to see?”
“This one! I haven’t seen this on earth 19” sais HR, Titanic in hand.
“Titanic? You’ve never seen Titanic?!”
“No, what’s it’s plot?”´
“You don’t have a Titanic in earth 19??”
“No.”
“L-let’s just see the movie” You played the movie.
2 hours later and you were sobbing in HR’s neck as he sobbed in your hair, in the TV, Rose was talking with Jack as he died of hypothermia.
“IN THAT TABLE IS ENOUGH SPACE FOR TWO!!!!!” You sobbed as Jack sank in the blue freezing waters.
“Shhh,(y/n). It’s just a movie.”
“BUT IT HAPPENED IN THE REAL WORLDD”
“WHAT? THE TITANIC WAS REAL”
“YEEESSS”
Sob after sob the two of you fell asleep, your head on his chest and his over yours. His arm made its way toward your waist and yours hugged him.
////*\\\\
As I waked up a sweet aroma overpowered my nose, a warm body was hugging me. As I looked down I saw the prettiest sight of my life, (y/n) was sleeping in my chest, her warm breath tickled me and her hair made a beautiful (h/c) halo around her adorable face. Her rosy cheeks and her half open lips looked glossy.
I had the need to kiss her.
….
Okay, okay
Do more than just kiss her.
“HR?” She said with her adorable i-just-wake-up voice. Her eyes half opened and sleepy giving her a childish look.
“Yes, sweetheart?”
“Make me breakfast”  She rubbed her cute little eyes.” Please.”
“Alright, dear. Just let me hug you a bit more”
/////*\\\\\
Somethings wrong with you.
You keep having these weird reactions toward HR, like blushing, sweating, butterflies in your tummy…
You talked with Caitlin and Iris about it, they said that you probably were in love with that person.
Pffffftt
YOU in love with HR??
HA! That’s not possible.
Right?
////*\\\\
Today is the day!
I’m going to tell (y/n) how I feel.
I think she loves me too.
I hope she loves me too.
Today I leaved our house before her and went to local florist, obviously with Randolf Morgan’s appearance. I don’t want to get shot.
I bought (f/f) and in the way towards the lab I stopped at (y/n)’s favorite coffee shop and bought a (f/d) for her and a coffee for me.
Ahh I just hope this will go well!
///*\\\
“Where is HR?” Cisco asked you and you raised an eyebrow.
“I thought he was already here. He left before I did.”
“Well, It doesn’t matter. We need to do a quick visit to Star city. Do you wanna come?” Barry asked
“No, don’t worry. I’ll stay here, I got a lot of work.”
“You don’t want to see Roy.”
“NO, it’s not that! What we had is long over. He knows it as I do. I just don’t feel like going to Star city today.”
“Okay, (n/n).  We will be back Wednesday morning.” Barry said.
“Bye, (n/n)! Stay safe!” Cisco said and in a moment they were gone.
As you sat down HR entered the lab, flowers and coffee in hand.
“(y/n)!!! I got a present for youuu!” HR said happily, he gave you the (f/f).
“F-For me? HR you shouldn’t have!” The silly smile made its way to your lips. You kissed  HR’s cheek and he blushed, smiling from ear to ear.
HR gave you the (f/d) and you sipped it happily. HR smiling at you, a twinkle in his eyes. The two of you finished your drinks.
As you sighed happily a moustache of cream from your (f/d), HR looked at you a lustful gleam in his eyes, tongue licking his lips.
“What’s wrong HR?” You asked adorably and HR’s self-control snapped.
Moist lips clashed against yours and HR hands cupped your face, you after coming down from your surprise raised your hands until they hugged HR’s neck.
His tongue licked the cream from your face and you let a breath escape, HR took advantage of this and his tongue explored your mouth, making it HR’s. Your hands went down until you could pinch HR’s butt. He let a moan escape surprised.
Your eyes didn’t leave each other, he smiled lovingly and caressed your cheek.
“I love you,(y/N). I’m in love with you. You’re the only one nice to me and I fell for your adorable self. “
“I love you too, HR” Now you smashed your lips together. Your tongue exploring now HR’s mouth and making it your own.
“The team won’t be back until Wednesday morning.” You smirked and took your shirt off. “ Wanna be bad?” You winked.
“F*CK YEAH!” HR took his own shirt off and kissed you desperately. Clothes flied and fell to the ground meanwhile you two love each other with your hands, mouths and souls.
Since that passionate night the two became a couple, to the surprise of everyone. HR was the most loving boyfriend you ever had. Every day you would wake up with breakfast in bed and after that you two would love each other like the first time.
One morning you waked up to a note in your bedside table, you smiled at HR’s antics and read the note.
“LOOK NO FUTHER THAN HERE, THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PERSON IS IN THERE.”
Riddles? What is HR thinking?
You saw the bathroom door ajar and went there. In the mirror your reflection looked at you and in the center of the mirror a note was glued.
“WE SAW SINKING SHIPS AND WE SANK TOGHETER IN OUR EMBRACE”
The living room! You got dressed in a moment and went towards the living room, where a note was stuck on the TV with the most famous scene of Titanic frozen on the tv. You smiled at his cheekiness.
Man, you loved him so much.
You grabbed the note and turned the TV off.
“THE MOST IMPORTANT NIGHT OF OUR TIME WAS SPEND THERE. WE CUDDLES, WE KISSED BUT WE WON’T TELL”
Is he referring to your wild night in the Lab? Where you confessed and made love? Did he want you to go to the Lab?
You grabbed your keys and your car and went to the lab.
“Hello?” You yelled but no one answered. You saw a rose petal path and a note that said.
“FOLLOW THE SCENT AND I WILL GUIDE YOU TOWARD THE PERSON WHO LOVES YOU THE MOST”
You followed the path that leads you toward the Lab. When you entered the Lab you saw the rose petal path end and there saw HR knelt in front of you, a note in his forehead and a velvet box in his hands. Your eyes flood with tears of happiness and you grabbed the note first.
“I love you, (y/n). You are the best thing that ever happened to me. I want to get older beside you, start a family with you, I want to live my life with you. Without you I am not complete.
Please
Will you marry me?”
HR opened the box and a beautiful ring was inside he smiled at you and said
“Will you make me the happiest Harrison of all the alternative earths?”
You kissed him passionately as the two fell to the ground, kissing and laughing.
HR put the ring on your finger and kissed your hand then your neck until his lips sealed with yours.
All your team came out of their secrets hiding places and cheered making you two laughing at their antics.
You two shared a loving kiss.
“I love you HR Wells”
“I love you (y/n) Wells”
The end?
(Promps still open!!)
Addiction Deleted Scenes
As requested here are the deleted scenes for Addiction. In terms of the relation to the fic itself I would say this is a ‘what if Kotori was right’ scenario. But as I mentioned, HonoUmi’s relationship is up for interpretation somewhat in the fic itself so these scenes are both just ‘what if’ scenarios and (if you choose them to be) missing scenes.  Warnings: Usual warning when it comes to Addiction i.e. cheating. If you don’t like Eli in Addiction maybe...don’t read this so as not to taint Honoka? Sexual scenes and general angst.
Honoka’s promised weekend. “Honoka!” Honoka turned at the sound of Umi’s voice calling out to her and gave pause as she watched Umi jog down the road toward her. Her hair was flowing behind her, her cheeks flushed from the cold. “Pretty…” “What?” Umi asked when she finally stopped in front of Honoka. “What’s pretty?”
Honoka rubbed her hands together as she waited for Umi to get there. Usually she would be the one running late but that day she had been especially early, eager to see the other girl. As well as seeing Umi again, she needed a distraction. The previous night she had gotten into an argument with Kotori over choosing to spend time with just Umi. It wasn’t really that Kotori was being irrational. They’d already had plans and Honoka had to cancel them so she could still spend her day with Umi. She’d tried explaining to Kotori that Umi was feeling neglected by her but Kotori was stubbornly not listening.
“Nothing.” Honoka smiled and gave Umi what was meant to be a brief hug of greeting. Somehow it lingered, Umi burying her face in Honoka’s neck for a moment. “You’re late, Umi-chan!”
“I’m not, I’m right on time!” Umi pulled away from Honoka to check her watch. “You were just...early?” A confused expression appeared on her face. “You’re never early.” “I just couldn’t wait to see you.” Honoka swept Umi up in another hug, which Umi halfheartedly fought against this time, a blush on her cheeks. Finally, Honoka let her squirm out of her grasp. “Let’s go and do something then.” Umi said, running her fingers through her hair to neaten it. “Fine, but you get to decide what we do.” Honoka answered, grabbing Umi’s hand. “Where do you want to go?” “O-Oh.” Umi said, flustered by the hand in her own. “Well there’s a bookstore nearby. We could go there and maybe check out some clothing stores.” “Umi-chan wants a cute outfit?” Honoka teased lightly as she started pulling Umi in the direction of the shops. “N-No, I just want to look around.” Umi answered, jogging a little bit to keep up with Honoka. “I think you would look cute in a dress.” Honoka mentioned, looking Umi over. “One that reaches above your knees. Umi-chan has nice legs…” “Honoka!” Umi exclaimed, certain that her face was beet red by now. “T-That’s too indecent.” Honoka laughed quietly. “Y-Yeah, I guess. Sorry.” She fell silent after, trying not to think about Umi’s legs anymore than she already had. “It’s fine.” Umi said softly, surprised by Honoka’s apology. Usually she would just tease her relentlessly. “Honoka, is everything okay?” “Of course! I just want to spend time with my best friend, that’s all.” Umi watched Honoka with a hint of suspicion. Something was wrong, she could sense it. “Did you have plans today or something?” “No! This weekend is all about Umi-chan, I told you. All plans were automatically dropped when you said you feel left out.” Honoka answered brightly. She faltered as Umi narrowed her eyes at her. “I-I can’t keep anything from Umi-chan, can I?” She bit her lip, looking down at the ground. “I had plans but I cancelled them. Kotori-chan is really angry with me…” Umi stopped suddenly, causing Honoka to stop with her. “You cancelled plans with your girlfriend to spend time with me?” “You’re my best friend!” Honoka exclaimed quickly, suddenly feeling the need to defend herself. “I would cancel plans with anyone to be with you, especially if you feel like…” She paused as Umi’s lower lip began to tremble, tears appearing at the corners of her eyes. “A-Ah, I’m sorry, Umi-chan! Please don’t cry!” Umi gave a choked little laugh. “Idiot, I’m just happy.” “Oh.” Honoka grinned and pulled Umi into another quick embrace. “Come on then. Let’s go shopping and then back to Umi-chan’s house!” She tried to pull back but Umi held on a moment longer and Honoka let her, gladly. When they finally pulled away they shared a small smile before Honoka hurried off down the street, dragging Umi with her. Umi let Honoka pull her into a shop and nodded as she was instructed to pick something out for her friend. She was more focused on how happy Honoka looked and it took her a moment to actually move. She managed to pick out a pair of jeans and a jacket for Honoka before the girl returned, a dress draped over her arm. “Honoka.” Umi said skeptically as she eyed the dress. “It’s fine,.” Honoka said brightly. She placed her hand on Umi’s lower back and guided her toward the dressing rooms, failing to notice Umi’s blush. She pushed her into a dressing room, following her in a moment later. “You go first!” Umi faux glared and Honoka couldn’t help but laugh. “I’m kidding. We’ll go at the same time.” She pressed the dress into Umi’s arms and watched as her friend carefully hung it up. Wordlessly, the two turned away from each other and began to strip. The room was quiet for a moment before Honoka glanced at Umi out of the corner of her eye. “Umi-chan, where did you get that?” She asked, causing Umi to turn around, a questioning look in her eyes. Silently, Honoka pointed to the lacy bra Umi was wearing. With Umi facing her though it wasn’t exactly what she was focused on. “Oh, I uh...I got it when I went shopping with Nozomi and Rin. The sub-unit…” Umi answered, a bit distracted herself by the skin on show. “Nozomi. That make sense. She’s good at knowing what people look good in.” Honoka mumbled, almost to herself. Her gaze raked over Umi’s upper half and she bit down on her lower lip, trying not to imagine touching her. It wasn’t right. She was with Kotori and Umi was just her best friend. “You’re staring.” “Huh?” Honoka’s gaze jerked up at the sound of Umi’s voice. “Ah, sorry. I just...I was just curious is all.” She turned around, her face hot with shame. She shouldn’t be thinking of tearing that dress off Umi. Not at all. She hadn’t even put it on yet! A few minutes of silence, save only for the sound of rustling, passed before Umi spoke up again. “Uh...I’m done.” Honoka took a deep breath to calm herself before she slowly turned around. Her eyes widened when she found Umi standing in front of her, clad in the dress she’d been given. “God…” “W-Well?” Umi asked in embarrassment. It wasn’t exactly the kind of thing she was used to wearing. “What do you think?” “I-I don’t know.” Honoka gave a breathy laugh. “I um...Umi-chan looks amazing. You should wear dresses that show your legs more often. You’re so sexy. I mean your legs are! I-I mean…” She quickly turned away, covering her face with her hands. She hadn’t meant to say that out loud. Umi stared at Honoka, stunned she’d said something like that. “Y-You think so?” “Y-Yeah.” “Thank you.” Umi gave a hesitant smile and looked down at herself. “Usually I hate showing my legs. It’s so indecent…” “It’s not indecent. Umi-chan looks beautiful.” Honoka argued quickly. “I-I do feel like I shouldn’t be looking at you though.” “Oh?” Umi was sure she knew why but she didn’t want to hope too much. “It’s fine, really. You can look if you want. Just looking is okay, i-isn’t it?” “I think so.” Honoka stayed still for a moment before she turned back around, staring at Umi through wide eyes. “I mean it. You’re so pretty. The prettiest person I’ve ever seen…” Umi couldn’t help but stare too. Honoka was still very much shirtless. “W-Well I’m no Eli…” “Eli-senpai and Umi-chan are beautiful in different ways.” Honoka took a small step forward but didn’t dare close too much distance. “I prefer my Umi-chan.” “Your…Umi?” Umi asked, breathless from the heated look in Honoka’s eyes. “I’m yours?” Honoka looked like she was going to answer but she closed her mouth right after opening it and whirled back around. “I’m sorry!” “I-I uh…” Umi wasn’t sure what to say so she focused on what Honoka was wearing. “Um...you look good in those jeans.” She looked even better in the jeans because she was shirtless but Umi didn’t point that out. “Thanks…” “I’m glad you didn’t wear your hobo hat.” Umi teased, sensing that Honoka was a little bit upset with herself for some reason. “It makes you look ridiculous.” “You’re the one who bought it for me. In middle school.” Honoka pointed out without turning around. “I did? Oh god.” Umi placed her hand on her forehead. “We should get you a new one. A cuter one.” “But I love that hat. It’s from Umi-chan…” Honoka said despondently. “I don’t want to get rid of it. Even Kotori-chan says I should.” “Then I’ll get you a new one for high school!” Umi exclaimed brightly. “And I’ll get you another one when you go to college!” “You’d really do that for me?” “Of course, Honoka.” Umi’s voice softened with sincerity. “I would do anything for you. I’ll always be here for you, you know that.” “Umi-chan is going to make me cry this time.” Honoka warned, pointedly not turning around. She swiped at her cheeks with her hand. “No fair, Umi-chan…” “Honoka?” Worried, Umi walked over to Honoka and did the only thing she could think of. She wrapped her arms around Honoka from behind and pulled her close. “I’m sorry I’ve been so busy with Eli-senpai and Maki-chan and this whole mess. I miss you.” Honoka said, reaching up to grasp the hand in front of her chest. “I miss you so much.” “It’s okay. I understand. Eli needs you right now.” Umi murmured, resting her chin on Honoka’s shoulder. “But I missed you too. I guess you could tell after how I acted…” “I need you.” Honoka said honestly, shivering at the feeling of Umi’s chin resting on her bare shoulder. Through the thin layer of fabric that separated them she could easily feel Umi’s breasts pushed up against her back too. It was distracting. “I only need you.” Umi held onto Honoka tighter than before, her friend’s words hitting her hard. “Come on. Let’s buy your new hat and then go to my house. We can talk there, just the two of us.” Honoka wondered if Umi had meant for her words to sound suggestive or if they even did. Maybe after seeing Umi in that dress she was just hearing it that way. “O-Okay.” She was both relieved and disappointed when Umi let go of her and went to get changed. Mindful of her own state of mind, she didn’t glance over her shoulder while they changed this time. --- Umi let Honoka walk ahead of her up the stairs to her room though she quickly realized that it was a bad idea when she found herself ogling her friend the entire way up. She watched with a small smile as Honoka didn’t hesitate to take a left to her room, quickly finding it. They had done this so many times before. She followed Honoka into the room, closing the door behind them. “That hat really does look cute on you.” She admired, stepping toward Honoka. She tugged gently at one of the ears on the hat. “It was a good choice.” “Well Umi-chan is always right.” Honoka smiled as Umi gave another tug. “Are you just going to tug on them all the time now?” “Maybe.” Honoka’s expression turned suddenly serious and she swiped her hand over her head, taking the hat off. “Uh...Umi-chan? I um...I just wanted to thank you for coming with me today. I had so much fun and it’s been so long since we’ve hung out, just the two of us. Since we kissed…” “And Kotori confessed to you.” Umi finished with a nod of her head. “I’m glad we could do this too. I’ve missed you.” “Hey, Umi-chan, do you think it would be okay if I stayed over here with you tonight?” Umi paused at the question. “Uh...aren’t you going to be with Kotori?” Honoka shook her head and flopped down on Umi’s bed. “I told you, we had a fight. I want to be with Umi-chan anyway…” Umi winced at the wording. It was all she’d wanted to hear for a long time and yet she knew Honoka didn’t mean it in the context she wanted her to mean it in. She walked over to the bed and lay down on her side next to Honoka. “Will you work it out?” Honoka hesitated before nodding. “Of course. It’s just a fight.” “Oh.” Umi knew she shouldn’t feel disappointed about that but she did. Very much so. Honoka turned onto her side and shuffled closer to Umi, gently tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. “Umi-chan?” “Y-Yeah?” “I’m sorry.” Honoka let her hand fall between them again. Umi’s brow furrowed in confusion. “I’m the last person you should be apologizing to. I understand, I told you. Eli is important to…” “No, not that.” Honoka shook her head in response. “I’m sorry about not giving you a response when you kissed me. I was just...confused. And surprised.” “Ah. I didn’t really need a response.” Umi answered awkwardly. She had known what the answer would be and she hadn’t wanted to hear it. She didn’t now either. It would still hurt. “Why not?” Honoka asked, sounding a bit upset at the idea. “You should have let me give you one instead of running off. Why did you even bother kissing me if you didn’t want an answer?” “I…” Umi hesitated for a moment. “I knew Kotori was going to confess to you. She told me the weekend before she did. I guess I just wanted to know what it was like to kiss you, just once. I knew I wouldn’t get the chance to again.” “You should have confessed first.” “What good would that have done?” Umi asked skeptically. “It would have put you and me in an awkward position when Kotori confessed and it would have hurt her. She really loves you, you know. And you love her, I knew that. You’ve always loved her more.” “Are you blind? I’ve loved you more.” Honoka felt guilty as soon as she said it but it was the truth. “I love Kotori-chan. I really really do. But before she confessed to me, I wanted to be with you for the longest time. And then you kissed me and you ran and I thought it was a mistake. That you hated it.” “So you’re saying I could have had you and I messed up? If I’d confessed you would have said...yes?” Umi’s voice grew thick with emotion at the end of her question. It hardly mattered now. “I just wanted you to be happy.” “Umi-chan needs to stop being so selfless.” Honoka reached out and took Umi’s hand, pulling her just a little bit closer. “Selfless? I didn’t kiss you because I was being selfless. I was being selfish.” “So be selfish.” Honoka said, her voice a whisper. “I…” Umi’s gaze dropped to Honoka’s lips. “We can’t go back from this. We’ll be just like Eli and Maki. You know if I-” She stopped as Honoka reached out and touched her cheek. Suddenly the girl was leaning close and Umi’s eyes fluttered shut just as soft lips pressed against her own. Against her better judgement she leaned into it, her hand grasping Honoka’s shoulder for support. Suddenly Honoka’s hand was in her hair and she was being drawn closer, the kiss deepening as Honoka brushed her tongue against her lips. Umi couldn’t help but compare it to their first kiss. That one had been fleeting, so fleeting that she hadn’t given herself time to find out whether Honoka would have responded to the kiss or not. Honoka wrapped her arm around Umi’s waist and tugged, drawing her on top of her. Kissing Umi was completely different to kissing Kotori. It felt raw and right. Like it was what she was meant to be doing. She bunched up Umi’s overall dress in her hands, her mind straying to memories of them as kids. Umi had always been there for her to lean on. Someone that could always snap her out of her depression or could tell when she was lying. Umi also was one of the few people who saw her cry when they were younger. Never saying a word, but always allowing Honoka to cry on her shoulder. “I love you.” Honoka whispered against Umi’s lips between quick kisses. “I’ve always been so…” She felt something slide down her cheek but she wasn’t sure if they were her tears or Umi’s. She knew she was crying but Umi was trembling on top of her too. “So in love with you.” “Honoka.” Umi broke the kiss and lowered her head to Honoka’s chest instead, a choked sob escaping her. “Don’t lie. I can’t take it…” “I can’t lie to Umi-chan.” Honoka said honestly. “You always know when I’m lying. I’m being honest.” Umi chanced looking up, finding Honoka staring back at her. She was telling the truth, she knew that. There was no twitch or aversion of the eyes to tell her otherwise. Umi’s eyes welled with happy tears and she pressed her forehead against Honoka’s, lightly nuzzling her before she leaned down to press her lips to her jaw. Honoka gasped softly as Umi’s lips travelled down to her neck where she experimentally planted an open-mouthed kiss. “U-Umi-chan…” Umi paused for a moment before carefully sucking at Honoka’s skin. Logically she knew it wasn’t a good idea but a part of her wanted to mark the girl. A shiver coursed over her as Honoka let out a low moan. She felt hands pull up her dress and turtleneck but she didn’t argue, allowing Honoka to slide her hands over the skin of her back. She nipped one more time at Honoka’s neck before she pulled away to reclaim the other girl’s lips with her own. The fact that they shouldn’t be doing this was still on her mind but she couldn’t stop herself. She’d waited too long. “Umi-chan…” Honoka whispered blissfully into Umi’s mouth as her hands strayed up and down Umi’s back. Her skin was just as soft as it looked. Umi pressed herself closer to Honoka, focus on the feeling of hands exploring her back and the movement of Honoka’s lips and tongue against her own. She whimpered as Honoka nipped lightly at her bottom lip. She couldn’t say she wasn’t disappointed when Honoka’s lips strayed from her own and she felt her collar being tugged away from her neck. Moments later, Honoka was there, lightly nipping and sucking at her skin and Umi couldn’t help but let out a low moan. She felt her dress and the shirt under it being tugged up and sat up a bit, allowing Honoka to pull the articles of clothing off completely. “H-Honoka…” “Umi-chan.” Honoka’s gaze hungrily roamed over Umi’s torso, covered only by her bra. “I need you. I need you more than I’ve ever needed anyone…” “Me too.” Umi whispered breathlessly, grasping the hem of Honoka’s shirt. She hastened to pull it up and over Honoka’s head. “I don’t care if it’s shameless. I love you.” She leaned down, her lips finding Honoka’s chest. She wasn’t prepared for Honoka’s arms going around her, pulling her into a fierce embrace. “You finally said it.” Honoka said, her voice thick with emotion. “I’m so…so happy.” Umi smiled softly at the admission and reached up to gently tug Honoka’s hair tie from her hair. She let it fall around her wrist and brushed her fingers through Honoka’s hair. “You’re beautiful.” Umi whispered, bringing a blush to Honoka’s cheeks. She leaned back, her hands going to the buttons of Honoka’s jean shorts. “Please.” Honoka encouraged, lifting her hips from the bed. “Please, Umi-chan.” Umi nodded hurriedly. There was no way she was going to be able to tease Honoka or anything like that. She unbuttoned Honoka’s shorts and shuffled back, tugging them down her legs. The jeans fell to the floor and Umi sat back for a moment, staring with her mouth open. “Umi-chan…” Umi licked her lips as she looked Honoka over. “I want to make you feel good.” She admitted, her voice a bit hoarse. “But I’ve never…” “Me neither.” Honoka said breathlessly, doing her utmost not to cover herself. “W-What?!” Umi’s gaze shot back up to Honoka’s. “But I thought…” “I...well…” Honoka looked away, her face flushed with shame. Kotori had wanted to but she’d always said no. It had never felt right. “I-I wanted my first time to be with Umi-chan. I never felt like this with anyone else...I wanted to try for K-K...her but I couldn’t force myself.” “But you’ve thought about this...with me?” Umi nervously trailed her fingers over Honoka’s inner thigh. “You’ve thought about me?” “Yes.” Honoka breathed out, her eyes fixated to Umi’s hands. “I used to think about you all of the time. Whenever we changed for performances together I couldn’t look away from you. You made it really hard to concentrate. Kotori alway-” She cut herself off, her eyes widening at the mention of her best friend. “S-She always used to tell me to stop ogling you in…” Umi looked up concerned as Honoka trailed off. “Honoka, are you sure you want this? We can stop.” Honoka gave a shaky nod and Umi slowly drew her hand away. “Eli-senpai and Nozomi-chan aren’t best friends anymore.” Honoka said, her voice trembling. “I know.” Umi moved up to Honoka and carefully wrapped her arms around her, tugging her close. “Are you thinking about…?” Honoka lay her head against Umi’s chest and nodded. “I want to be with you so much, Umi-chan. But I can’t do anything to hurt her. I love her.” Umi gave a soft sigh. “I know. I love her too. She’s my closest friend aside from you.” She pressed her lips gently to the top of Honoka’s head. “Tell me honestly. Do you want this? Are you absolutely sure you want this with...me?” “I am.” Honoka said solemnly. “I can only do this with Umi-chan.” “Then we should do it right.” Umi said, gently rubbing Honoka’s back. “Eli and Maki were...like this before Eli broke up with Nozomi so if you just…” “I can’t break up with her.” Honoka interrupted, pulling away from Umi. She caught the flash of hurt on her best friend’s face. “You know why I can’t. I won’t hurt her. It’s my fault we’re in this mess anyway.” “What about me?” Umi’s voice was small as she looked down between them. “Doesn’t it matter that you’re hurting me?” Honoka bit down hard on her lower lip. “Of course.” She finally said when she was sure she could speak. “I know this is hurting Umi-chan too. If there was any other way...I just want to be with you. Even if it has to be a secret.” “How am I meant to watch her be all over you?” Umi asked, her voice a whisper by now. “What am I supposed to do when she touches you in front of me? O-Or kisses you?” “I’m sorry, Umi-chan.” Honoka apologized meekly. “All I can do is promise to be there after. When it’s just the two us I can make it better.” She moved toward Umi again, pulling her close to her. “I’m sorry.” “If you’re going to stay with her you’ll have to...sleep with her eventually, right? Or she’ll think something’s wrong. She’ll know.” Umi said, closing her eyes against the tears that threatened to surface. “You said you don’t want to. What will you do then?” Honoka took a deep breath. “As...as long as Umi-chan is my first. I love Kotori-chan too. If that’s going to make her happy, I can…” “NO!” Umi pulled back, her eyes already damp. She shoved harshly at Honoka’s shoulder, much to the other girl’s surprise. “I’m going to tell her. I’m going to tell her I’m in love with you and she needs t-to...to go away! She always does this, she always comes between us but I’m going to tell her that you-” Honoka took Umi’s face in her hands and kissed her, effectively cutting her off. Having silenced her, she pulled away. “No, you can’t. Now calm down.” She kissed Umi again and gently pressed against her shoulder, pushing her down onto her back. “And please let me show you how much I love you.” “I-I don’t want to force you int-” Umi’s weak protest was silenced with another soft kiss. “It’s okay.” Honoka let her hand slip between them and brushed her fingers up and down Umi’s inner thigh. “This is all I want. You’re all I want.” She waited for a nod from Umi before she leaned in and kissed her neck, revelling in the softness of her skin. With her free hand, she reached around and unclasped Umi’s bra before slipping it off her. Umi squeaked in surprise and instinctively covered her chest with her arms. “Uh…” Honoka paused and looked down at Umi, not quite sure what to do. “I-It’s embarrassing.” Umi explained in a whisper, her cheeks red. She couldn’t help but compare herself to the other girl’s in Muse, mostly Kotori. Kotori’s were bigger than hers. She paused for a moment but Honoka merely stared. “Honoka!” “Eh?!” Honoka finally seemed to snap out of her stupor. “Oh, s-sorry, I’ve uh...oh god, I’ve never done this before.” “H-Haven’t you ever touched yourself?” Umi asked shakily. Honoka tilted her head in contemplation. “Has Umi-chan?” “O-Of course I have. Sometimes.” Honoka bit her lip.”That’s kind of hot. Who were you...thinking about while you…” “Honoka!” Umi exclaimed loudly, her hands falling from her chest. “Y-You of course. Who else would I be thinking about? Geeze, why do you have to be so pushy…?” “I like to know that Umi-chan thinks of me.” Honoka said, her gaze instinctively dropping to the area Umi’s hands had been covering. “Uh…” “You never answered the question.” Umi said uncomfortably. “Have you ever...done that?” “No. I think I’ll be starting though…” Honoka mumbled, her eyes still fixated to Umi’s breasts. “Umi-chan is so pretty…” Daringly, she reached out a hand, lightly cupping Umi’s breast. She looked up as her friend sucked in a sharp breath. “I-I really don’t know what I’m doing…” “Just do what feels right.” Umi suggested, struggling to breath. She watched as Honoka nodded to herself before leaning down. Her eyes widened as Honoka began to kiss and suck at her breasts, her hands still roaming over them. She tried to swallow back any noise but she couldn’t help but moan softly. Honoka smiled against soft skin as Umi’s fingers slid into her hair. Taking a short breath, she sucked hard at the area just above Umi’s right breast, causing Umi to cry out in surprised pleasure. “My Umi-chan…” Honoka growled softly as she pulled back to look at the mark. “Yeah.” Umi whispered, her voice slightly gruffer than usual. “I’m all yours, Honoka.” The way Honoka’s eyes lit up had her heart clenching in her chest. “Just yours.” Honoka ran her fingers down Umi’s chest, between the valley of her breasts and down a toned stomach. Her fingers were followed with soft kisses and the occasional nip that caused Umi to jerk beneath her. “H-Honoka...ah…” Umi groaned, squirming beneath the other girl. “I-I…” “Say it again.” Honoka bit down on Umi’s hip. “Say my name. Just like that…” “Honoka…” Umi moaned breathily. “Honoka.” Honoka’s lips lingered on the waistband of Umi’s panties for a moment before she pushed them down. They were lacey, she noticed, to match Umi’s bra. “You’re so hot, Umi-chan…” She muttered as she let Umi kick her underwear off. Gently, she pushed Umi’s thighs apart and leaned in, flattening her tongue against her core. “AAH!” Umi clapped her hand over her mouth, her eyes wide with shock. As Honoka lapped at her she couldn’t do anything but moan softly into her hand and grind forward, pushing herself closer to Honoka. Her free hand, still in Honoka’s hair was used to push the girl closer. “Honoka, Honoka...oh god…” Honoka whimpered softly and ground her hips into the bed, desperate for a bit of relief. To distract herself she increased her efforts, sliding one hand under Umi to hold her close. Umi moaned loudly as Honoka’s tongue slid into her. She cursed loudly and moved her other hand to Honoka’s head, grinding forward at the same time. “Honoka, Honoka…!” Honoka smirked to herself, feeling rather smug about managing to get such a reaction. When Umi pushed at her shoulders though, she felt her stomach plummet. She pulled away, worried that Umi was already regretting what they were doing. “Umi-chan…?” “I want to make you feel good too.” Umi gripped Honoka’s upper arms to tug her up and somehow managed to reverse their positions in the blink of an eye. “It’s time for my revenge.” “Huh?” Honoka’s eyes widened as Umi leaned down, kissing at her neck. She relaxed slowly until she felt Umi go even further, her teeth scraping against the skin of her neck before she bit down. Hard. Honoka cried out in surprise and grasped at Umi, her fingers digging into the soft skin of her best friend’s back. “More. Please, Umi-chan…” Umi shuddered at Honoka’s pleading. It wasn’t very often that she managed to get the upper hand. Obediently, she shifted her position to slide her hand under Honoka’s back. Fumbling for a moment, she unclasped Honoka’s bra and pulled it off of her before leaning back to admire the view. Honoka’s breasts were bigger than hers. She’d noticed a few times when her gaze had inadvertently strayed to Honoka while they’d changed clothes. “Honoka.” Umi whispered, her fingers brushing against the globe of Honoka’s breast. “You’re so beautiful…” Honoka flushed, all the way down her chest. “U-Umi-chan!” She was smiling though, Umi noticed, unable to keep her own smile from spreading across her face. “I mean it.” Umi said softly, her gaze flitting between Honoka’s eyes and chest. “W-Well you’re more pretty.” Honoka grumbled, lifting her hand. She gripped Umi’s wrist lightly where her hand rested on her shoulder and met her eyes intently. “I love you so much...more than anyone.” Umi’s throat grew tight, her eyes misting. “Geeze, you’re going to make me cry again.” She leaned down, pressing her lips to Honoka’s and trailed her hand down her friend’s stomach to the waistband of her panties. Honoka lay back and closed her eyes, letting Umi take control.
---- “Damn it, Umi-chan…” Honoka muttered as she looked over herself in Umi’s mirror. She would have to be extra careful around Kotori now that she had marks on her neck. Umi had a number of marks too though they were under her clothes. “Don’t go.” Arms slid around Honoka’s waist and she looked up, meeting Umi’s eyes in the mirror as the girl pressed a gentle kiss to the nape of her neck. “Stay here with me.” “I have to.” Honoka said reluctantly, reaching up to press her hand to the back of Umi’s head. “I have to deal with Nico-chan.” Noticing Umi’s face fall in response, she turned and cupped her best friend’s cheeks, kissing her softly. “I’ll come back right after. But I have to go. Do you have a scarf or something I can use?” She pointed to her neck, causing Umi to look down, her eyes widening at the sight of the marks. “Sure You actually left your scarf here a month ago.” Umi wandered away, rummaging for a moment in a drawer before she returned to Honoka’s side with a familiar looking scarf. “Here you go…”
--- After KotoHono argument in the Student Council Room
Umi was staring out over the grounds of the school through the fence when she heard the door to the roof open and close. She knew it was Honoka but she didn’t turn around to confirm her suspicions. She tensed for a split second as she felt arms go around her from behind, a forehead pressing into her upper back, but quickly relaxed. It was just Honoka. She didn’t want to say anything though, she just wanted a moment to think, to get the images of Kotori with her arms around Honoka out of her mind, to forget that she had seen them kiss. She supposed her silence was why she heard Honoka sniffle softly and felt the subtle tremble of her friend’s body against her back. “Honoka?” She murmured, suddenly very alert. “Are you crying?” “No.” Honoka’s voice was choked with tears and Umi quickly turned around, finding tears streaking their way down her cheeks. “I-I just...Kotori-chan doesn’t get it. She doesn’t understand me or how much I cherish Eli-senpai. And everyone in Muse. I know I should pick a side but I-I can’t!” “I didn’t expect you to. You’re our leader. Our mediator.” Umi took Honoka’s face in her hands and kissed her forehead. “It’s okay, I’m here.” “I can’t hate Eli-senpai either.  Not when I’m just like her.” ----
After KotoHono argument on the roof. Honoka’s pace was faster than usual as she made her way down the student council room. She hoped that Umi would really be there and hadn’t decided to go somewhere else first. She needed to see her. Due to her hurry she almost ran right into Keiko who was coming out of the student council room. “Honoka-chan.” Keiko said in surprise. “I just handed the application for the lacrosse team to Umi-chan. We’d really appreciate it if you’d consider approving our club.” Honoka forced a smile to her lips. “I’ll take a look at it as soon as I can.” “It seems Umi-chan is doing all the work you’re meant to do so it’s a good thing you’re finally going to help.” Keiko continued scathingly. “You two are supposed to be a team. Vice President and President.” “Yeah…” Honoka mumbled tiredly, her thoughts still on Kotori. Keiko rolled her eyes. It was like Honoka wasn’t even listening to what she was saying. “It’s a big job, Honoka-chan. You’re really walking in our former student council president’s shoes.” “Yeah.” Honoka said again. She wasn’t sure what Eli had been thinking. It seemed that the blonde saw something in her that Honoka herself didn’t. “Excuse me, Keiko-chan…” She skirted around the girl and pushed open the door to the student council room, stepping inside. She closed the door behind her and locked the door. Umi was sitting in her usual spot, her blazer off, her shirt sleeves rolled up to her elbow and her top button loosened. With a pen held loosely in one hand and manjuu in her other hand she looked relaxed, her eyes drifting over the paperwork in front of her as she chewed slowly. She didn’t seem to notice anyone had entered so Honoka lingered near the door, watching with a small smile as Umi worked. Her gaze shifted to the pile of paperwork next to Umi and she realized with a sinking feeling that it wasn’t Umi’s work but hers. She swallowed thickly. Umi was always helping her, in any way she could. She strolled toward Umi, finally catching the girl’s attention and leaned down, hugging her from behind. Surprised, Umi choked on her manjuu. She coughed a few times before she managed to speak. “H-Honoka?!” “Why do you have to be you?” Honoka asked quietly. “Why do you have to be so perfect?” “Huh?” Umi asked, confused by Honoka’s question. She was far from perfect. “What are you talking about?” Honoka shook her head against Umi’s shoulder. “Just let me stay like this for a bit. Please. I just want to hold you for a while...” “Okay.” Umi said softly, recognizing that Honoka didn’t want to talk just yet. She went back to what she was doing, eating her manjuu and looking over the paperwork but she couldn’t help but worry. Finally, after a few minutes she spoke up. “Did you eat much?” She felt Honoka shake her head and held up the rest of the manjuu in her hand. She felt her cheeks warm at the thought of what she was about to do but spoke anyway. “Honoka-chan say aaahh.” She said, imitating Honoka from earlier. As expected it earned a gentle giggle from Honoka before the girl leaned in and took the manjuu into her mouth, along with Umi’s fingertips. Umi’s breath hitched as wet warmth closed around her fingers. She felt the briefest flick of a tongue before her fingers were released. “Uh…” She suddenly felt hot. Much too hot. Honoka hummed in satisfaction at the taste of the manjuu. “I want to eat Umi-chan.” She teased gently, nuzzling Umi’s neck. She playfully nipped at soft skin, taking satisfaction from Umi’s sharp intake of breath. “I-I have work to do…” Umi said shakily as she tried to focus on the words in front of her again. “My work.” Honoka said, her voice serious this time. “Umi-chan does too much for me already…” “Huh?” Umi paused with her pen above the paper. “What does that mean?” “Nothing.” Honoka sighed and rested her chin atop Umi’s head. She kissed the girl’s crown before pulling away slightly. Carefully, she unbuttoned her own shirt, revealing the marks scattered over her neck. “See what you do to me…?” She watched as Umi turned her head to look at her. “Why are you constantly on my mind? Why do I always wish it was you? Why do I think like that when I already have a girlfriend?” Umi sighed, her shoulders slumping. “I think the same thing. I always think about you. And how I wish I was in her position. I wish I had confessed to you. I wanted to but...I was afraid. And I didn’t want to hurt Kotori.” “Neither of us did. But we are.” Honoka said, biting her lip. She thought of Kotori’s words from earlier. “You understand me. You’re the one who knows me best…” “And you know me the best.” Umi whispered. “I...I really wish it was you.” Honoka confessed quietly. “I wanted it to be for so long.” She bowed her head, her hands clenching into fists. “I should never have said yes to anyone else…” Umi blinked rapidly, feeling her eyes begin to sting, her throat closing up. “You’re going to make me cry…” She said even as tears filled her eyes. Honoka didn’t answer and her brow furrowed. “Honok-” A soft sob wrenched itself free from Honoka’s throat and she quickly clamped her hand over her mouth, her shoulders trembling. Umi dropped her pen and turned around in her seat. She reached out and wrapped her arms around Honoka, tugging her onto her lap. “Hey.” She whispered, her voice cracking. She leaned in, pressing her lips gently to Honoka’s. Honoka whimpered and wrapped her arms around Umi’s neck, returning the kiss with a hint of desperation. Umi tasted like the manjuu she had just been eating and something else - something comfortingly familiar. “Umi-chan…” “Come back to my house after school.” Umi said gently, rubbing Honoka’s back. “I want to take care of you. You’re upset. I don’t...I want you to be happy.” Honoka sniffled softly. “How are you going to make me happy?” Umi smiled gently and brushed Honoka’s hair away from her face. “Well we can watch your favourite movie an-” “I want Umi-chan.” “Wha…?!” Umi’s eyes widened in surprised. “I want Umi-chan.” Honoka repeated, resting her head on Umi’s shoulder. “That’s what will make me happy. I just want to forget everything. I want to pretend that I’m with Umi-chan. That you’re my girlfriend and everything isn’t so messed up. I just want that…” “Okay.” Umi whispered, her hand going to the back of Honoka’s head to hold her close. “Then you can have me.”
these are actually hella fucking cute y’all
I’m answering all of these because as previously stated I have a real thing for filling stuff out. I like being asked questions it’s fun, keeps my brain workin’ :D
1: when you have cereal, do you have more milk than cereal or more cereal than milk? More milk. And I never drink it at the end. I can’t, I’ll get sick. I can’t drink milk, and if I have cereal too often I’ll get sick. But it’s just not right if there isn’t lots of milk D’: 2: do you like the feeling of cold air on your cheeks on a wintery day? NOOOOOOOOOOO DDDDD: 3: what random objects do you use to bookmark your books? Anything? I think there’s a Mythology book around here somewhere with a peanut M&M’s wrapper in it.
4: how do you take your coffee/tea? I don’t put anything in tea, and I’ll drink black coffee, but sometimes I put creamer in it. If it’s available. I like peppermint mocha best yum :D
5: are you self-conscious of your smile? Nope! I think it’s pretty nice, actually. It’s one ofthe few things I actually like about myself lol. I hate my body and my acne but I think my nose, eyes, and smile are decent. I had braces so my teeth are straight. I didn’t wear my top retainer though so there’s a small gap, but it doesn’t bother me. Except when I eat apples. The skin always gets stuck >:( My teeth could be whiter, and they’re small and square looking, but I think my smile is alright.
6: do you keep plants? No, but I want to. I just can’t keep up with that stuff. And my room faces a very shaded yard so sunlight really doesn’t come in.
7: do you name your plants? I totally would! 8: what artistic medium do you use to express your feelings? I prefer to draw with pencil/colored pencil, charcoal, and I’m trying to use inking pens. I suck at painting lol. I did just get a tablet, though, and Autodesk Sketchbook. So that’s been fun to play with.  9: do you like singing/humming to yourself? Oh yeah. I would love to be able to sing really well. So far I can do a decent Marilyn Monroe impression lol. My favorite thing to sing along to is No Doubt. I love Gwen’s voice. It’s a good exercise too, all the vibrato and crazy patterns she does. I also like to sing Heart, too. My boyfriend says I sound pretty good, but I still won’t let anyone else hear me lol. Even though he’s a musician and probably knows what he’s talking about, I still don’t think it’s that great haha 10: do you sleep on your back, side, or stomach? Yes.
11: what’s an inner joke you have with your friends? Hmm I can’t think of any that don’t require a long explanation lol. Well okay, how about this. I didn’t ever really drink until I turned 21 (almost exactly a year ago, January 17!), and then when we’d hag out with friends and I’d get drunk, I’d start going up to people whispering “Hey. I’ve never been drunk before” in their ear lol. Like ever time it happened (which wasn’t all that much, I’m still not a huge drinker). It got to the point that now if I drink, everyone goes “Watch out for Robyn, she’s getting drunk for the first time!”
12: what’s your favorite planet? Uranus ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)  Hehe uhm Jupiter, because it’s full of gas, like me? I’ve honestly never really thought about this. I think Neptune is the prettiest, and I like the idea that humans may be able to live on Mars.  ~Sailor Pluto is my favorite Sailor Scout. :D
14: if you were to live with your best friend in an old flat in a big city, what would it look like? A mess hahahahahahahahahaaha. She has three cats and I have a dog. We both have depression, anxiety, BPD, OCD, and ADHD. (fun fact, our diagnoses are identical. We both have PTSD as well). But we love doing crafts and not cleaning our rooms, so I imagine there would be glitter, scrap fabric, pencil shavings, and wadded up paper everywhere. Among the pet hair, of course! 15: go google a weird space fact and tell us what it is! 99% of the solar system’s mass is the sun! (shit!) 16: what’s your favorite pasta dish? S P A G H E T T I
17: what color do you really want to dye your hair? Uhm well I’ve literally had every color lol. But right now, I’m having a lot of trouble getting red to stick to the lengths, it keeps fading to brown immediately. My hair is very damaged so it’s not too cooperative at this point :/
18: tell us about something dumb/funny you did that has since gone down in history between you and your friends and is always brought up. Uhm ok so I have IBS pretty bad, right? My friends and I went to Denny’s one night. We came back to one friend’s house, and I needed to fart (Sorry, this is gonna be gross lol). So as my friend Nick was coming up the stairs, I stuck my butt out and farted on his chest area. Only I didn’t fart. I pooped on him. HAHA and now everyone laughs at me because I shit on the bass player! The best part was I ran to the bathroom and I had my boyfriend get my spare undies from the car (gotta have those when you got that Irritable Bowel), and when I went back downstairs, Nick had no idea what had happened lololololol 19: do you keep a journal? what do you write/draw/ in it? Nopeee 20: what’s your favorite eye color? I mean as far as what I find attractive, brown. Big brown eyes. On guys and girls. But especially guys. Girls with light eyes can still be cute but I think dark eyed men are just the best <3 That’s not to say there aren’t also some attractive men with light eyes (points to Bradley Cooper, Chris Hemsworth, Conrad Veidt, J o n a t h a n  J o e s t a r). 21: talk about your favorite bag, the one that’s been to hell and back with you and that you love to pieces. My smiley backpack! I just started really using it about a year ago, but I got it when I was like 3. so it’s around 19 years old. I actually just ripped one of the straps out partially last night, and I gotta sew it (thanks for the reminder!). It’s about a foot in diameter, and it’s just a giant yellow circle with a simple black smile and eyes and two straps. 22: are you a morning person? If by morning person you mean I stay up all night and am awake still when morning comes. Though I was up from Thursday evening to last night with no sleep, so I slept all last night and have been up since 6:30 this morning. 23: what’s your favorite thing to do on lazy days where you have 0 obligations? Well since I’m pathetic and I don’t have a job and the Kent State University won’t let me have Financial Aid (due to dropping my classes last semester because of HEALTH ISSUES, wtf), every day is like that. I hate it, actually. I do nothing but sleep. I stare at my computer for hours, scroll tumblr and Facebook, get out drawing supplies and then stare at the paper and cry, lay in bed and cry, cry and cry ;u; 24: is there someone out there you would trust with every single one of your secrets? My boyfriend, Mr. Alexander Tortorella. He’s been one of my best friends since 2010, and my boyfriend for a little over 2 years. Also my two closest friends, Taylor, who I’ve been best buds with for over ten years (we even got tattoos together) and my friend Ryanne who I mentioned before (the one with all the problems like me lol). 25: what’s the weirdest place you’ve ever broken into? No where, I’ve never broken into anyplace. Other than my car once because I locked the keys in it lol. 26: what are the shoes you’ve had for forever and wear with every single outfit? I actually have these flat slip on clogs that have like a brown sweater fabric that I got in 2006. I wear them pretty much all fall/winter if I’m just running to the store or to someone’s house. If there’s no snow, of course lol. I also have Converse I got in 2007 that have the British flag on them, and The Who’s logo on the tongue. there’s smiley faces drawn on the rubber at the toe, and along the side banding one one of them are lyrics to “What a Catch Donnie” by Fall Out Boy.
27: what’s your favorite bubblegum flavor? I love regular bubblegum’s taste but it doesn’t last long enough to bother. 28: sunrise or sunset? Sunset 29: what’s something really cute that one of your friends does and is totally endearing? Uhh…? My friends aren’t really “cute” people hahahahaha. I mean Taylor has called me “Bobert” for years and that’s funny lol 30: think of it: have you ever been truly scared? Yeah this one time when I was little I floated too far on a raft in Lake Erie and thought I was gonna end up in dying lol. I mean compared to other things that have happened in my life that really isn’t anything too bad, but the fear I felt at the time was so immense. 31: what is your opinion of socks? do you like wearing weird socks? do you sleep with socks? do you confine yourself to white sock hell? really, just talk about socks. I love socks! Cool socks. I’ve got Marvel hero socks, whale socks, Star Wars socks, Sailor Moon socks, Winnie the Pooh sicks, sailboat socks, and funky pattern socks. I hate sleeping in socks though. I also have a collection of black dress socks from marching band haha 32: tell us a story of something that happened to you after 3AM when you were with friends. I got naked and chased a friend down the street when I was 17. That was my one experience being drunk before I was 21 lol 33: what’s your fave pastry? Friggin Oreo Poptarts. They count. 34: tell us about the stuffed animal you kept as a kid. what is it called? what does it look like? do you still keep it? Little Pooh! And Big Pooh! I have a like 2 and a half foot sitting Pooh Bear and a small one. I dragged them both everywhere when I was little. I still slept with the small one until I was like 16. But it’s so worn and falling apart, I needed to switch to a larger version to cuddle lol. Now I just kinda cuddle whatever teddy bear or stuffed animal I grab haha 35: do you like stationary and pretty pens and so on? do you use them often? Yes, but I don’t really have them. I do have some super cool Norman Rockwell notecards. And I have rainbow pens I use to color coordinate notes. I’’l freaking rip a page out and re-write everything if i mess up. 36: which band’s sound would fit your mood right now? Well I’m currently listening to “Fly” by Sugar Ray and I’d say that’s doin’ it pretty well :D 37: do you like keeping your room messy or clean? Yeah so have you seen a tornado’s aftermath? 38: tell us about your pet peeves! People who chew their nails (Glares at Alex, even though he’s not here). Girls who talk all hood, and act dumb for attention, then get offended when you don’t take them seriously.  39: what color do you wear the most? Black lol 40: think of a piece of jewelry you own: what’s it’s story? does it have any meaning to you? I wear a ring everyday, I only take it off to shower. Alex has one too. They’re silver bands, and they have the coordinates to our high school engraved in them (that’s where we met). One has the latitude, one the longitude. Inside mine it says “Alex”, his says “Robyn”. 41: what’s the last book you remember really, really loving? White Oleander by Janet Fitch. 42: do you have a favorite coffee shop? describe it! I just like Starbucks. I’m a white girl. Sue me. 43: who was the last person you gazed at the stars with? Fuck beans. 48: what was your biggest fear as a kid? is it the same today? Yep, spiders. 49: do you like buying CDs and records? what was the last one you bought? The last CD I bought I think was Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge by My Chemical Romance. I’ve had every word of it memorized for like 10 years, but I never actually owned a hard copy. The last record I bought was probably Houses of the Holy by Led Zeppelin. *note; as I was moving on to the next question, the song “Houses of the Holy” came on my iTunes o.O (though let it be noted as well that the song “Houses of the Holy” is actually on the album “Physical Graffiti). 50: what’s an odd thing you collect? I have only seen Beetlejuice of those (I knowwww), and I like it, but the heavy late 80′s asthetic creeps me out a bit. Not the stuff that’s supposed to be creepy, but all the black and white checkerboard and stripes, bright colors, and things like that lol 54: who’s the last person you saw with a true look of sadness on their face? My dog, because I wouldn’t let her have her bone back (it was bed time!) 55: what’s the most dramatic thing you’ve ever done to prove a point? We don’t need to discuss that. Once again; I have BPD. Lol what??? I mean I drink wine more than anything, but I probably drink more vodka than anyone else too lol. Most of them just smoke that reefer to be honest. Alex and I don’t, he doesn’t drink either. And I rarely drink vodka. But no one else ever does lol 59: what’s your favorite myth? The brown sound lol. The idea that there is a decibel so low that if you hear it, you’ll poop yourself! They proved it to be false on Mythbusters, though. 60: do you like poetry? what are some of your faves? I used to write poetry a lot. I actually was published in a national anthology of selected student poets in 9th grade. I have trouble being creative anymore, though. I like Thoreau and Walt Whitman. We studied them in 11th grade. 61: what’s the stupidest gift you’ve ever given? the stupidest one you’ve ever received? I’ve never really given a gag gift. Though one time I wrapped a robe I got my sister in a series of boxes and duct tape just to mess with her :D I wouldn’t say I’ve ever received anything “stupid”. 62: do you drink juice in the morning? which kind? Nope. I like apple juice, though. Orange juice makes me sick. Acid reflux issues. 63: are you fussy about your books and music? do you keep them meticulously organized or kinda leave them be? That’s what today looks like, and pretty much everyday around here. 68: what’s winter like where you live? Well when I was younger, it was snowy and bright and fun. Now it barely snows, and it’s always gloomy and muddy and gross. My basement flooded a couple days ago because it rained so hard.  69: what are your favorite board games? MONOPOLYYYY. I got a Dogopoly for Christmas hehe. I like Sorry and Clue a lot too. 70: have you ever used a ouija board? Nope
And I still always tell myself I won’t forget shit, and then I do. 73: what are some of your worst habits? Smoking cigarettes, sleeping too much, drinking pop instead of water, picking my nose lol. I’m twitchy and fidgety but that’s just the OCD and ADHD. 74: describe a good friend of yours without using their name or gendered pronouns. Uhhhhhhhhh “Big fat faggot”. (that’s actually how he would describe himself, he likes going up to people and saying “I’m REALLY gay”) 75: tell us about your pets! I have my darling baby Mae Mae, she’s around 9(??) she’a a black mutt that looks like a bear/wolf lol. I got her from the Humane Society. Then there’s Bellatrix, who my mom got from the HS. She’s a brindle boxer, almost 4 years old. We have a 7 month old kitten named Hosta. My mom found her in the hosta bushes outside this summer, so we named her after the flowers lol. We also have a guinea pig, of my sister’s, named Alfie. He’s about 2? 76: is there anything you should be doing right now but aren’t? I could use a shower. 77: pink or yellow lemonade? Pink <3
Alex once bought me ice cream and flowers and made a sign that said “sorry for being a douche”. I don’t even remember what he did wrong, it was cute :3 80: what color are your bedroom walls? did you choose that color? if so, why? Well a few months before we moved in, I painted them purple. Then I decided that was boring like a couple weeks before we moved, and I got tihs cool 70s-looking (or even 30s really) floral wallpaper with like gold and pewter flowers and I put it on two walls. I painted the one wall orange, the tiny bit around the closet sage green, and the area around the door with chalkboard paint. Then I got mad one day about a year later and went and bought light green and covered the orange. I still don’t really know why lol. 81: describe one of your friend’s eyes using the most abstract imagery you can think of. Dude what? Queen’s News of the World has a sweet cover. Def Leppard’s High N’ Dry, Smashing Pumpkins’ Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, Aphex Twin’s “Windowlicker” single, of course. Green Day’s Dookie, Dio’s Holy Diver. There are aa TON but you know. I’m getting sick of typing lol 84: are you planning on getting tattoos? which ones? I’m planning on getting a lot lol. Currently a Ginger Rogers close-up on my forearm. I have a Pooh sketch on my side, “You’re braver than you believe” (Pooh quote) written in my friend’s handwriting on my right shoulder, and “There’s still time to change the road you’re on” on my right foot (”Stairways to Heaven” lyrics). 85: do you read comics? what are your faves? I don’t live cities very much. 91: where do you plan on traveling this year? I’m going to North Carolina for a wedding, that’s about all I can think of. Probably going camping. 92: are you a person who drowns their pasta in cheese or a person who barely sprinkles a pinch? CHEESE ME BABY 93: what’s the hairstyle you wear the most? But mine is Tuesday! :DDD 95: what are your plans for this weekend? Alex has a show tonight, so there’s that. 96: do you install your computer updates really quickly or do you procrastinate on them a lot? ”Remind me tomorrow” 97: myer briggs type, zodiac sign, and hogwarts house? Don’t know, I’ve never taken one of those tests. I’ve started to, but I can’t really answer the questions right. My answer can go either way, my mood is always changing. I don’t believe it’s easy to pin down a BPD patient’s type. I’m a Capricorn, and I’m not really into Harry Potter. My IQ is pretty high though, lol. I’m proud of that. It’s the one thing I have haha. 98: when’s the last time you went hiking? did you enjoy it? Neither. I don’t want to change the way things are now. Sure, I’d love to tell myself “Don’t gain twice your body weight” and “don’t drop our of high school or college” but like, Butterfly Effect. I know somehow that would make it so I never reconnect with Alex, or I end up dating someone I wasn’t happy with, or what if somehow I got in a car wreck and died as a result of something stupid? And I don’t want to see the future. What happens happens and I don’t want to live in anticipation.
Feel free to talk to me about any of this stuff! I welcome friends, I’m lonely haha
