"Hurt y'self, little thin'?" He teased, watching you lying on the forest bed after your foot faltered and slipped you into the bottom of the hill. Your brows knitted, you rolled your eyes, he chuckled at the face you made, "alright, I'm comin'."

He slides down, smoothly, and a little bit pompously—with a smirk on his face. You can't lie—he made you smile though you desperately wanted to punch him right in the face.

He offered his hand to you and you accepted his help. At first, he let you wrap your arm around his neck as he walked you towards the hill exit—but as it turns out, you sprained your ankle so bad it was impossible for you to take another step. He scooped you in his arms and carried you back to the quarry.

And that's how you met Daryl.

You can't admit he wasn't a pain in the ass most of the time—if not always, getting on your nerves and driving you up the wall, it was so constant you started thinking he was doing it on purpose.

It kinda was. Daryl had serious troubles with conveying his emotions, and that idiot had a sickening crush on you ever since he saw you at the camp with the girls. He wanted your attention and he only got it when he drove you mad, so he tooled it in his advantage.

You were his favorite. You're the only one he talks to—other than his brother, Merle—and you, too, are the only one who wants to talk to him.

You too had a crush on him. His silly fights and bickering became more amusing to you—sometimes you couldn't even contain the smile drawn across your face when he's mad about something so stupid and could be fixed in complete silence, and when you gave him your smug face—it always drove him insane. You learnt he's quick-tempered, but these ones were visibly made up just to get a chance to be with you.

Daryl reminded you of those little boys in the playground when they used to ruin the girls' sand castles or pull their braids and ribbons just to get their attention. Ever since you came up to this conclusion—life has never been easier!

But things changed a little bit after the attack on the quarry. Daryl turned from only being a hot-headed idiot to be completely protective of you, but that doesn't mean he stopped getting angry—God forbid he does! But he got more reasonable and collected—around you, at least.

As soon as you got to the CDC, he grew closer to you, more friendly, more worried, more caring. He barely slept the night you spent there, checking on you every thirty minutes to make sure you don't need anything—despite you being a wall apart. It was adorable, and it stirred something in you.

Same night at dinner, right before you went to bed, he sat beside you as you dined, he made sure your plate was full and that you'd eaten well because 'it's been a while since you got a decent meal', he says.

And in the middle of the chaos the following morning—he solely cared for you, and not a thing was going to stop him from smashing Dr. Jenner's head that morning if it wasn't for you calming him down.

The two of you escaped in his pickup truck. But despite the horror you had just fled, you couldn't stop stealing glances at each other, Daryl was focused on driving but you spotted him staring at you with soft eyes a couple of times. Both of you blushed, multiple times—vividly, but you couldn't stop. Something was so amusing and sweet about the way he was looking at you, and you were so tempting to him he couldn't stop staring at you even if he wanted to.

Now, staying at Hershel's farmhouse, Daryl turned out to be that sweet lovey dovey guy who'd absolutely melt under your touch—in complete opposite to the face he's been showing to everyone.

As you went out to search for Sophia, Daryl offered to accompany you. He kept brushing arms with you, pumping into your side, and gently holding your biceps to guide you as you walked. He kept putting himself between you and any threat, not letting you shed a drop of sweat—you were almost a passenger princess, but on foot.

But it was very obvious the night he got shot—your heart dropped when it happened, and when you learned it was your Daryl and not some misinformation. You couldn't watch as they took the bullet out, you couldn't watch him screaming in agony—yet you heard him from behind the door. It tore your heart into pieces.

The night fell as you sat on the chair next to his bed, your head dripping every couple minutes as you drifted in and out of sleep. Your head was heavy as a rock sinking in the ocean—yet you kept fighting Mr. Sandman back, shaking your head and rubbing your eyes and patting your face.

"Go to bed, pet," he softly demanded, "ye're tired from sittin' here all day," he extended an arm, gently placing it on your thigh and squeezing it chastely, "ya need some rest."

You shook your head, "I'm fine, Daryl," you shrugged, "it's not like it's the first time I stay up late."

Both of you stay silent, staring at each other with soft eyes. "Climb up in 'ere," Daryl says, his voice was tinted with plead "at least you won't have to keep droppin' yer head like a sippy chicken."

"No, Daryl," you shook your head in utter refusal, desperately trying to show him how awake you are despite craving a warm bed, "you need your own space. What if I accidentally hit your wound--"

"Come on, pet, you know you won't..." he softly smiles, shaking his head. You sigh and climb into the bed with him and he shares his blanket with you. He turns to face you, the moonlight is perfectly casted upon your faces, his blue eyes sparkled and reflected you like a looking glass. He grazes your cheek, tucking your stray hair back behind your ear and his fingertips linger on the skin of your neck.

"Get some sleep, love," he caresses your hair, "I won't need nothin' when ye're right next to me."

You woke up tangled up in his chest, it was warm and peaceful. You never wanted to slip out of his arms—if it wasn't for Hershel coming over to check on him and the men accompanying him.

Daryl got better as the days gone by. You started to see him in the kitchen fetching some biscuits or chips, he'd pump into you on his way out, brushing arms with you and glancing at you with his blueies and a smile. And if he's in the right mood, he'd take you off guard and peck your cheek, and you'd turn red and try to bite your smile. He caught it had quite the right effect on you, and he's been doing it ever since.

"Let it down, pumpkin," Daryl flirts as he snatches the scrunchie out of your hand as you tried to tie your hair, "love it when it's coverin' yer pretty face, gives me a reason to keep tuckin' it back."

"But we're going on a mission," you protest, "it would be dangerous for both of us!"

Daryl takes a run around the golden field and you chase him—but he overpowers you and you stop running, panting and clutching your chest as he giggles. He mischievously walks back closer to you, so you try to take it back, but he's taller than you, stretching his hand up with your scrunchie and shaking it to tease you. "Ya ain't tiein' it today, darlin'."

"Give it back!" you giggle as you jump to reach for your scrunchie, but he keeps stretching his arm above his head.

"Ye look so cute like that, pumpkin," he pulls a smug face as you lean forward against him, your chests compacting and you're an inch away from kissing.

"You could've told me you wanted to kiss me," you tease, not minding that he lowered his hand back down. He tucks your stray bangs behind your ear, ending up doing what he wanted to do all along.

"But it's more fun to watch ya tiptoe and lean on to me like that," he rounds you with his big arms, pulling you deeper into his chest with a Bastard smirk on his face, "it makes you even prettier, pet. These little things you do."

I loved the first episode BUT HATED B&C! 

S2 E1 SPOILERS:

I loved everything about Rhaenyra’s grief (Emma delivered in this scene!) Cregan’s appearance, being introduced to Alicole while having sex (I laughed so hard at Alicent's O face, she needed that, well done my girl), Alicent helping Criston with his armor, Otto’s visible frustration with Aegon during the small council and the hearing of the petitions, Aegon being that dad for Jaehaerys he wished Viserys was with him (present, inclusive and supportive), Rhaenys’ comebacks at Daemon and Daemon’s wrath, Erryk’s dilemma, Larys’ obvious knowledge of Alicent and Criston’s meetings, Alicent reminding Otto that she is still Dowager Queen and she needs to be respected for her sons to heed her council, and the heart-wrenching scene between Lucearys and Rhaenyra. 

But the best scene of the episode for me has to be ALICENT’S LIGHTING OF THE CANDLES, WHILE RHAENYRA MAKES A FUNERAL PYRE (we hear Alerie’s name *sobbing*; also LOVE THE PARALLELS of that scene with Rhaneyra and Alicent and her inner conflict to admit that her side, family, and herself, have committed a crime for which they need to atone and be forgiven by a higher power. In a deeper spiritual level, she tries to communicate with Rhaenyra). It was such a well-thought out and cinematic scene.

But I hated what the show did with B&C! Maelor does not appear, and even though Helaena is visibly traumatized, the scene downplayed book!Blood and Cheese’s manipulation and coercion as she was forced to choose one of her sons. We also did not hear her offer her own life instead of her children’s and it was so rushed imo. The sounds of them cutting Jaehaerys’ head off were indeed harrowing. I knew Alicent and Criston would be having sex as Helaena enters Alicent's chambers (still no alicole kiss) and had somewhat come to terms with it, but it was still annoying how little focus was placed on Helaena the whole time. She only said "they killed the boy" like it meant nothing. I do hope episode 2 does Helaena's grief justice!

Anyway, these were my initial thoughts! I’m excited for the season but kind of wished that at least for important events such as B&C the writers had stayed truthful to the books.

HOTD S1: Aegon serially rapes servant girls and watches flea bottom children fight in the pits for his entertainment - his own illegitimate child among them. We follow Ser Erryk and Arryk on a tour of the worst of Aegon in a Green-centric episode, dedicating a huge chunk of the episode to building up to Erryk's moral decision to back Rhaenyra as Queen instead, choosing her not just out of duty but out of a meritocratic comparison.

TG: B-But it's because his terminally ill evil dad didn't love him 🥺 And he doesn't know what rape is, it was just a misunderstanding! And WHY is it his responsibility to look after an illegitimate child he didn't want 🥺 ANYWAY this was just Mushroom slander the show is just anti-Green and pro-Black and what do you mean Daemon didn't kill his wife in the book? What do you mean Aemond killed Luke on purpose? What do you mean Alicent bullied a child? What do you mean Criston groomed a 7-year-old? Did MUSHROOM tell you that-

HOTD S2: Did you know Aegon cares about the SMALLFOLK? He cares about the SMALLFOLK. Have we mentioned how much Aegon cares about the SMALLFOLK yet? He really does care about the SMALLFOLK- and he's a really really really good dad-

TG: 😍 SEE he's trying really hard and he cares about the SMALLFOLK! 😍 I bet Rhaenyra doesn't care about the smallfolk (when Aegon lands HIS dragon I bet they don't run away screaming, they know Aegon has a nice friendly dragon who wouldn't hurt a fly and is a nice nuke, unlike other evil nuke dragons that the evil bad coloniser targs ride 😡). And he's such a good dad he loves his son so much he's a good dad - and when he was watching the flea bottom children fight for his entertainment he didn't know one of them was his child so that's alright then-

Thereafter any misbehavior, laziness, or truculence on King Aegon’s part resulted in punishment for his friend. Gaemon’s blood and Gaemon’s tears reached the king as none of Gareth Long’s words ever had, and His Grace’s improvement was soon marked by every man who watched him in the castle yard, but the king’s mislike of his teacher only deepened.

S2 E16 Roadkill - There's a ghost haunting the highway. the Boys help the spirit move on. This is an early example of monster empathy

S2 E18 Hollywood Babylon - Dean loves hollywood. I love dean. this episode makes me kick my feet like a little girl and i will not defend myself.

S2 EP 20 What Was Shall Never Be - all I have in my notes for this one is "Dean Djinn Dream" which was enough for me to remember the episode and get misty eyes. This is SEASON 2 my son will never know peace.

Joy of Life S2, ep 13 - 15 comments

Chen Pingping continues to be both using Fan Xian and a good mentor. He contains multitudes! Which is what makes him such a compelling character.

Second Prince is the least interesting he's ever been when he's in scenes with Ye Ling Er playing the victim. It's just too easy to manipulate her and so I can't care very much.

The way Fan Xian's mother is this powerful spectre that haunts the narrative... and it's not just her Seductive Beauty™ . It's in the way we more commonly see with a Great Man trope: a famed marital arts master, a dead legendary general or past king.... a father or grandfather figurehead. I both wish we knew about her but DON'T. She works best as a partial sketch; an unsolved poignant mystery.

Saintess!!!!!!!!!!!! reappears! After Fan Xian finally called her friend in ep 13 (朋友!). I don't believe you either, girl, that it's all about the treasury. You're bros!!!!!! He seduced a bromance out of you.

They basically gave 2P's new guard enough characterization for us to be interested in what happens to him. RIP your hopes & dreams my dude, it's been real

Guao Baokun and Loser Brother is a match made in heaven. I missed all the Beiqi people so much. Fan Xian playing 4D chess and getting them to babysit Guo Baokun. "Let's leave a good impression, he might come back." 😂 The way they have to escort those dumbasses to the border.

Fan Xian wants friends SO BAD it's literally tragic to me. He wants to make Censorate guy his friend because there's no one he can trust not to turn on him for benefits (other than the Fan family).

Chen Pingping & Fan Xian put on a ridiculous show. Very amusing but I feel like they should have been more convincing, if for no other reason than giving the emperor his due. 2nd Prince simply tried harder. Hate to say it about the enemy but facts are facts.

We already got a read on the emperor about Second Prince. A temporary grounding is all he can countenance (even that is a gift to Fan Xian and a warning to not exceed boundaries). To any extent he likes the faction wars and is happy to stir shit up & eat popcorn. But at least right now, he's gonna protect all his sons. In his own twisted way he cares about Crown Prince, Second Prince, and Fan Xian. Just not more than he cares about himself & power & control.

Censor Lai pushing the emperor too far "Are you saying everyone is confused but you?" It's honestly shocking he wasn't executed before this. Bro you just tired of living?

Crown Prince pinching his leg and having fake hysterics while his flunky joins in while 2P looks disgusted. This is why CP is my bestie. He's hilarious.

Fan Xian finally realizing what his brothers already know - that there are limits to the emperor's condescending forbearance. They can't become a potential threat to him and he can't feel they are out of his control. When FX is playing with His Majesty, all is permissible. But when he's not...

The burning indentures scene reminding me of Blossoms in Adversity, a drama I ended up enjoying more than I expected. (If only it was blessed with the quality of acting we see in every cast member of JOL.)

Coincidentally the character I’m procrastinating writing pov for 😂 cause her picking out a brunch outfit? Difficult at best

First Impression: That she was gonna be fun! Like- I immediately fell for the snark/awkwardness and her dynamic with Max. The mean girl and the caretaker, the worrier (warrior). I didn’t know much about her- but she was the hot mean blonde to me for two or so episodes and I was living for it.

My Impression Now: Just that she’s one of the most complex characters on the show. Her strength is from her mask and learning how to find herself beneath it.

Favorite Thing About That Character: Her desire to help others- just the way she takes all of the pain and hurt inside of her and channels it towards helping others heal and protecting them from being hurt like her. She’s truly just- so good. Which you might notice is a theme with my favorite characters, lol

Least Favorite Thing: Ummm- her going to a recently hate crimed/traumatized woc’s house to threaten her. I wanna slap her and Mikey everytime I watch 1x02.

Favorite Line/Scene: Her walking out of the trailer to tell her brothers they suck at making decisions- so she’s gonna start doing it.

Favorite Interaction That Character Has With Another: Uh- just every single psychic twins scene and Lizobel scene. But specifically 2x13 when Max tells her how proud he is of her and they hug and are so sweet and so much so twins even without biology.

hmmmm okay starting with the obvious (for me): jenny and buffy. like i of course have lots of different jenny-related answers, but jenny and buffy make me just cosmically unwell, because CANONICALLY that's the deepest relationship jenny has in the show outside of giles? like she has this supernatural gothic connection with angel, she's got a deep warm love for giles, and literally as i was typing this i forgot who i was talking about, which is exactly my point re: why i wanna see more of jenny and buffy. they are the most drift compatible ever.

and kinda piggybacking off of that, because i'm on a "victims of angelus whose girlhood was shattered by his monstrosity" kick -- BUFFY AND DRUSILLA. i think buffy's canon attitude towards drusilla (dismissive, furious) makes so much sense, but i would have loved for it to be interrogated more re: the way buffy perceives herself and her role in The Angelus Situation. sort of a situation where buffy and drusilla are both able to heal a little more by actually facing the girl(s) that got killed.

who else UM. xander and giles. canon, explain to me why giles is Like That about a teenage boy in an abusive home. and i don't even say that judgmentally, i think there are so many narrative possibilities that could sell me on giles being such a dick to xander! the one i toss around in my head a lot is the notion of xander's wise-cracking stubbornness reminding giles of the worst parts of ripper, and then him sorta unfairly taking out his own issues about Dumb Teenage Boys on xander by reducing & simplifying him to a Dumb Teenage Boy. but i think that's a little bit of a stretch, and, again, CANON DID NOT GIVE US ANYTHING.

and one more to bring it home: jenny and angel. i can't not put them here. the jenny/giles buffy/angel thing is so insane and i would kill a man to have it dissected more thoroughly within canon -- the interweaving connections between all of them after the big s2 blowup!!! -- but specifically jenny and angel is like.... she was raised to REVILE HIM and she gave him back his LIFE???? i think so much about that quote "forgiveness is an act of compassion, it's not done because someone deserves it, it's done because they need it" in a jennyangel context. she stepped away from playing arbiter and went "what this situation needs is love." and her love got carried forward in becoming pt. 2 when giles softly asserts that curing angel was jenny's last wish. she makes the Conscious Choice to end the cycle of vengeful violence when little girls start getting hurt again, and she gets killed by her childhood monster, and her act of love breathes life back into him. what the fuck. what the fuck. wh

This is not so much an AU as an image of what could happen post s4 because ummm remember Nancy crying in Barb's bathroom in s2? Yeah this is gonna get sad. Robin is the first girl since Barb she's letting in again, but it's so fucking difficult sometimes. Every now and then, Robin will say or do something that reminds Nancy too much of Barb and the only thing she can do is hide away and cry. And she doesn't understand why Robin would ever want to hang out with her - let alone love her - because the last time she was close to a girl she killed that girl and she will forever be trapped with that guilt and she wishes so desperately she could be anybody else.

But Robin gets it. She keeps being there for Nancy. She doesn't allow her to cry in secret behind a locked bathroom door; she stays right by her side and holds her, and she looks at her like all her broken parts can be rebuilt.

Wille having only one picture with Simon on his wall is unrealistic, he should have at least 3 with both of them and another 10 of only Simon.

Fredrika says that people should have complained while they were studying, not after, but the issue is that they may have been scared to do so. And, more importantly, I think a lot of times, especially when you're a teenager, people fail to realize that the system they're under and the things that happen to them aren't normal or expected. It's quite common for victims of abuse to only realize that they'd been abused a long time later, and often when other people speak up or tell them that they weren't supposed to have gone through that. Maybe it's a bad comparison, but it reminds me of people who were beaten up by their parents when they were kids and grow up to do the same with their own kids and keep making excuses for that behavior and defending it. And then, occasionally, they're able to realize, usually through the help of others, that that isn't the norm and they can stop it. It's when you tell people "I'm sorry that happened to you and it shouldn't have" and watch them realize that it was actually fucked up and their feelings of anger and sadness and betrayal over it were valid. Ok, enough of this nos, but yeah... I really liked that line.

I love that Felice mentioned being the only one told to put her hair up, because I noticed that in S2 and I know this show doesn't do this sort of thing for no reason, but I really liked that she referenced back to it.

Stella's line is another one that I really like. Felice is talking about veiled racism and she completely misses the point and says Felice is pretty. She's trying to reassure her, and it's sweet, but she fails to actually hear Felice and emphatize with she situation. I think the third year boys are very clear examples of blatant prejudice (homophobia, mysoginy, elitism and, though not as blatant, racism), while this girls portray veiled forms of prejudice, which can appear non-consequential, but can be equally harmful, especially when you don't know whether or not to point it out, or you do and people act like they're offended that you feel offended, because omg, don't you know that it wasn't the intention at all? So a lot of times you just pretend you didn't hear it, which ends up being quite grating.

I'm curious if Nikita actually got her hands tangled in those lights or if she was just that good of an actress. 🤣

The whole altercation around the possibility of someone taking pictures of Wille and it being what sends everyone away was so heartbreaking. He can't win, even if he does nothing.

I understand where Simon is coming from, but he missed the point Wille was trying to make when he said he didn't have a choice in going to "prince school". Sure, he does get anything he want, but he also had a lot of duties and a lot of pressure on him.

The shushing though. I was gagged. The audacity! I would have left to sleep in the hammock if I were Simon. I get that that's how he's always been treated, but oof.

But the long of it is we have a history with Jirachi that makes me wonder what it even IS in the TPP verse

See, in my hc, Jirachi really doesn't like us. And by Us, I mean Voices because it has worked with Hosts before, it's just that it seems 9/10 Jirachi only ever comes with us under weird circumstances so it's a matter of the host getting its trust.

Unfortunately, only one host I think has managed to not break that trust, which again is why this thing doesn't like us :tppWowee:

(that host being Petra btw. Still under weird circumstances, but Petra is a girl who gets it because Glitchmancy)

I'm not sure what the relationship is with Marina, but I'm not so familiar with later Metro Sapphire lore

The point is, in my lore Jirachi itself is The Wish Maker, a shapeshifting Glitch of the highest rank (because in my lore the Glitches have a hierarchy. This goes all the way back to S2 lore when someone coined the term for the level of glitch possessing XD was a Corporal) maybe even up there with Phancero, possibly just below it

The shapeshifting idea came up in RandY when we rescued "Yveltal" but it was randomized to Jirachi. We failed to catch it and when we tried again, the cutscene and battle apparently counted separately so it got re-randomized to Registeel. Most of us joked Jirachi was pissed and summoned a mech to come after Venus and she's just running around the corner chamber screaming while throwing Pokeballs behind her. Because it's a scripted battle, so if we ran away from it, the game was like "Yveltal wants you to fight!" And just starts the battle again so no escape, had to catch 😂

Then we had Wooper 1 where the lore was Santa's Delibird can make all your wishes come true because it's bag is apparently a void you can draw anything from. Then it turned out to be a glitch and we teased that's the source of Santa's magic because he glitched several times too like frozen flying animation, going invisible, opening holes in the wall ect. Rocket Boss Shawn said he wanted to use Delibird to summon endless Master Balls, which is more of a Missingno trait but whatever

And then Petra got her Jirachi through debug menu. Like I said, she kinda gets this thing in the way Santa did. Fun Glitchmancy to do (relative?) good in the world unlike what happened with Goomtha, Shawn, Lysander, and Venus shoved it in the box (because while Yveltal is scripted to join the party, somehow the randomizer broke that part I guess since we failed the cutscene battle. So there was no prompt to add it to the team). Auguste probably falls into that category too now since he was bffs with this thing and then it got killed and he got cursed so.... :KEKWhands:

And I laughed to imagine the Registeel Mars found when looking for Cobalion is actually Jirachi using it's mech again to tell the Voices to fuck off as the old man in the cave told us the legendary hiding there has a deep hatred of humans after all it's been through

Well... Interesting for me to analyze further

also I need to see the new Pinocchio since I hear the depiction of Blue Fairy has an interesting interpretation

Forrest -- before he's Forrest -- is the glitch that sprang out from Quotes's bag and nearly killed her in Hoenn, the Voices lash out and toss him into the sea, Jirachi finds this glitch with remnant Voice-energy clinging to it and is like... "if this is an ally, the last thing i want is to abandon it. but if this is an enemy, i should probably have a countermeasure in place". so they turn Forrest into a human (defenseless, powerless on its own, the alternative was a Pokemon that could possibly run amok) and are like "ok, if you can prove you aren't dangerous, i can make you not a glitch. you've got x amount of time until that new body falls apart" and then dumps him in Unova

the fact that it took two separate attempts to catch jirachi gives me some Thoughts about forrest's whole potential-revenge arc. especially with the idea of glitches as corrupted casualties to destroyed worlds.

Scene is a bit silly but so well acted that I barely took any notes. Such a great performance from both Cooke and D'Arcy

Really liked this one, especially with all the Velaryon screentime. Hopefully this is not the last we see of Rhaena and Baela, and I am really hoping there will be time for Jace to step into the spotlight. He's such a remarkable young man in F&B.
