The “It” couple
Tumblr media
Part 1 ~ 3 Piñas Coladas later ~
If you think Tiffany and Frank were the “It” couple at their own wedding, think again.
That title was reserved for Syd and Carmy, or more like for their drunken alter egos.
Not even Donna could drink that many Piña Coladas.
It started quite innocently. Syd just wanted a drink but didn´t want to wait in line for the bartender to fix it for her, so she told Carmy and he promptly sneaked into this little back room where the waiters worked non-stop at their stations to keep up with the high demand of the almost 100 guests that atended the simple yet elegant wedding at the luxurious and historic Gold Coast mansion on State Parkway where the bride and groom were exchanging their vows and becoming husband and wife sourrounded by friends, family and a staff of at least 30 people who made sure everything went out smoothly.
So smoothly, Carmy found all he needed to fix Syd a drink he thought she was going to love, and off he went, like nobody´s business. The waiters looked at him work that cocktail shaker like a pro, so they didn´t dare to say a word to ask him what he was doing back there.
That drink was such a hit with Syd that in no time, he was back in there fixing her another one.
3 drinks later, she wanted to dance. Carmy obliged.
At that point, he thought he needed a drink himself because dancing was not his forte.
So he took care of that very quickly, and after downing 2 glasses of red wine back to back, he joined Syd on the dance floor. Nothing was too awkward or too overboard; they seemed sober and like they were having a good time. Nothing completely out of the ordinary for the untrained eye.
For Richie, Cicero and Donna though, it looked like Halley's Comet was orbiting the dancefloor and an easyness that they never thought Carmy´s feet had was making him look like he knew exactly what was he doing there, with his busines partner in his arms, swinging to the music and even humming the song in her ear.
She looked just as carefree, it seemed like they went out dancing every weekend, and that was just another day in the office for them. They just looked perfect together, and for once, they appeared to have not a care in the world.
Even Tiff and Eva were in disbelief when they saw the insouciant version of “Uncle Carmy”.
Sugar was quick to take a picture because she simply couldn´t believe her eyes.
But no one burst their bubble. No one wanted to say it out loud in case their words were all it took for the spell to be broken. The unspoken agreement among the Berzattos and Berzattos by proxy was: “Let them dance.” And that´s what they did.
