There is something about the way Hunter-centric fandom doesn't even take in the account characterization and the writer's intentions when talking about other characters, like they don't exist outside of the scenes with Hunter, when even tertiary characters like Darius have other things going on for them.
Ok, fandom is set in their opinion on Darius, and canon didn't care about him enough to have him voice his point of view, but look at Raine and the fanon take that they would abandon Hunter for the sake of the 'greater good', fully knowing that he is abused (which is not the same as maybe suspecting something but not having time or means to investigate or really do anything). We actually see that Raine stopped the spell in Eda's Requiem when they found that Eda had kids, that they valued their promise made to Luz in the Clouds. Knowing that and everything else about Raine, like, do you really think it was the intention to paint them as someone who would 'sacrifice' the greater good if the kids they know/kids of someone they are close with are involved (even when the kids won't even be harmed physically), but would willingly leave a kid they are not close with to suffer for the sake of the greater good? Do you really think that was the intention of the writers with this character in a kid cartoon?
And yes, the writing might have unfortunate implications or things that are not explained - sometimes because of the format and time constrains, sometimes because the writers probably didn't expect that adult fans would pick their show apart like it's a complicated psychological fantasy, and sometimes because the writing is flawed and not that great. But there is still characterization and tone of the show. And Eda's and King's relationship is almost never dissected that way.
Oh, but it's for AUs, oh, the fans want to dig deeper, says fandom. And my polite take is that no one actually stops you (general you). But the question is: are you really exploring other characters, do you care about the characterization and is respectful of it, can you write something deeper and explore complicated feelings, or are you going to write/draw another Hunter whump where he gets to shout at characters of color for failing him while they experience disproportionate guilt, and then you never do anything positive with them? And can you do anything positive with them that doesn't turn them into one dimensional props whose only role is to coddle and protect Hunter? Can you avoid racist tropes while writing their flaws? Do you understand that the same tropes and the same harsher judgement of the characters of color and sometimes white women who stand opposed to the fandom favourite white guy is something that repeats from fandom to fandom, and that it is alienating?
And my mean take is that almost every time i see a post like that, the works and authors that are recommended as examples of 'great exploration of Hunter angst' are actually just blatantly full of racist and mysogynistic double standarts and white character prioritization, so...

Ive Seen some weird shit today so here’s a little rant, aimed towards the TOH shipping community but can be used for any fandom-
Just because you ship one thing, doesn’t mean you can criticize other ships for no specific reasons.
I love a TON of ships, I don’t really stick to one and that’s the fun of it!
Here’s the thing, I know majority of the fandom that ships lumity is against lunter, I personally think both ships are fine, even though I prefer lumity way more.
Saying hunter and Luz are siblings is a HC, which I do believe, I love imagining them being siblings. THEY ARE NOT BLOOD RELATED, NOR IS HUNTER ADOPTED BY CAMILA. Hunter and Luz are both bisexual! Just because Luz is dating a girl, doesn’t automatically make her lesbian.
So yes, I see them as sibling coded. This doesn’t mean I go attack lunter shippers and accuse them of being pro shippers.
THIS GOES BOTH WAYS!
I see many lunter shippers trashing on lumity shippers, most for pure pettiness. A few of these people also trash on huntlow, which is a ship I adore but, everyone has their opinions of course. ( I personally HC Willow and hunter in a qpr )
CONCLUSION
Do not attack others for shipping things you don’t ship! ( unless it’s illegal, then yeah that’s weird asf )

Ok, so we know that canonically Amphibia and The Owl House take place in the same Universe (and Gravity Falls, but that's not relevant to this.)
And we know that, in TOH, there's the "In Between" place, and logically, one of the places it leads to is Amphibia.
The Collector made the permanent door to the BI, so theoretically, they could make Doors to other Places too.
Which means, if any of the Calamity Trio ever met anyone from the Hexsquad, and the topic of saving other worlds from ancient evils ever came up, they could get a permanent door to Amphibia.
And like, even if they couldn't make the door. Because they couldn't get ahold of The Collector on a whim, or because they're too afraid that the US gov will try to take over Amphibia again, Luz knows how to build a Door to the In Between
Which means Anne could at least talk to Sprig & the Plantars, through a mirror or something. Which is still 1,000x better than the heart breaking "have a good life, never see ya again" way that it actually ended.
Like, that is my least favorite trope in all of fantasy.
The idea of traveling to a different world. Then being imbued with God Powers
Then actually fucking dying and being reborn because the Will of Fate decided you needed to keep living.
Forging life and death bonds that transcend friendship and family.
Then it's just POOF ok back to academia and wage slavery and puttering out a mundane existence on this overheating rock.
Never experiencing the magic that you know is real ever again.
Never hearing from your found family ever again.
Like, I'm sorry, but I would simply perish. That's a nightmare I can't even imagine.
TOH did it right.
Everybody else take notes and fix it

[spoilers for all of The Owl House]
Short version: I love found family
Long version:
Eda, King, and Luz. The original three. One a witch, one a titan, one a human. Maybe King and Eda have always been close, since Eda found him on that island. But the progression of the three's bond throughout the series made me cry when I thought about it. It starts out as Luz just being a random human, a pawn they use to get back King's crown. Then Luz decided to stay, and it's quite clear Eda doesn't really care at the start. You can see how she clearly ignores Luz's wishes. But you see as season 1 goes on, Eda starts caring for her wellbeing and starts actually bonding and caring for Luz. But you really only see the full extent of Eda's newfound care for Luz in Agony of a Witch. Eda goes to save /her/ human from Lilith, despite knowing the dangers, despite knowing it was a trap, despite knowing her curse is getting worse and worse. And as her curse takes over, she thanks Luz. For being in her life. Luz fights ferociously to save Eda, stopping at nothing to save her Boiling Isles mom. Season 2, episode 1 Eda states that she uses the money they have to get special food for Luz instead of her apple blood, which she is shown to stop at nothing to get. You see the three's bond grow so much in season 2. Luz helps King through his identity crisis, and tries her very best to help him figure out who he truly is. At the end of season 2 Eda's concern for her two children is so great, she just wants them to be safe. They shouldn't have to go through this, since they are just children. But Luz is so desperate to help, to fix her mistake, to redeem herself for her part in this horror. In Clouds on the Horizon you can see Luz's concern for Eda and her plan. Both King and Luz are terrified, because Eda talks like she may never come back. After the Day of Unity when the Collector is taking King you can see just how desperate Luz is to save her found family, her brother and her mom, she wants so badly to save them, just to make sure they are okay. You can see how emotional both are, King thanking Luz, then for her wellbeing shoving her through the portal. Throughout Thanks to Them you can see all of that sadness and want and guilt well up in Luz, not even knowing if her owl mom and little brother are alright. Then, there is Watching and Dreaming. When they all reunite, they are so happy, just so thankful to see the others okay. Then there is the battle with Belos. Eda and King can only watch, as Luz saves the Collector from Belos. Which kills her, and she can't even get the words to tell them as she fades away. In the in-between realm, her inner thoughts say she should have thanked them. Just as they had to her. The absolute fury and anger from Eda and King is insurmountable. They went from a ragtag group, to a family. A true family. Their anger is so great they shift to forms we never have seen or see again, only showing themselves in their absolute despair over Luz's death. When Luz is revived their extreme joy and relief is so great, and it shows.
A witch, a titan, and a human. A mother, a son, and a daughter
Titan I love found family 😭 don't even get me STARTED on Hunter-
This has been a Chaos rant, thanks for reading ;)

The Owl House overlooked/loose Plot treads (Updated)
Tumblr media
There are a LOT of unresolved, unaddressed, and forgotten mysteries, characters, and plots that had to be cut short because of the shortening so... I decided to search and list as many of these as possible! Because there is just so much we missed and this is my way to cope.
Plot threads:
What was Darius's mentor's name? and why/how was he "eliminated"? (was he who inspired/influenced Darius to form his own rebellion?)
How did Darius even uncover the Draining spell? did he sneak inside Belos's office and snatch the paper? did he overhear Belos talking with the Collector? did the previous Golden Guard leave him some hints as to what Belos' plan was all about?
How did the CATTs (Amber, Derwin, and Skara) escape the Conformatorium after Eda's requiem? Did Raine break them out? was it Darius? Steve? [Possible Answer: it seems that the cell they were throw-in was actually open]
How did Bump manage to implement multitracking in Hexide? Assuming that at one point, the Emperor's coven sent an actual inspector to the school, how did the detention kids and Bump deal with that?
What about the other magic schools? we never got to see Glandus High or St. Epiderm.
What happened with the Greater Basilisk? It was implied that the emperor's coven took her so... is she dead?
How did belos revive the basilisks? was the Collector involved in that or did he figure out that one on his own? what method did he use? If the collector give him the draining spell, then what was even the point of resurrecting them in the first place?
What exactly is the relationship between Hunter and Darius like? mentor? father figure? friend? After giving Hunter a scroll and promising him to keep Flapjack secret we really never got a proper look at their relationship after all of that. After all of those years of giving Hunter the cold shoulder, Darius must have dedicated a lot of time to gain Hunter's trust.
Grimwalkers, how did Belos discover their existence? The only explanation that comes to mind is that he found the "recipe" in some forgotten temple or that The Collector help him develop it throught trial and error. Althrought the books Hunter found imply that the Demon Realm knows to a certain extent of their existence.
What was that little box containing the puzzle and map to the Titan's Blood? and who put it there and why? Because I genuinely find it disjointed from everything, like, not even a hint was placed about who made it and for who.
What happened to the other basilisk that escaped with Vee, and what was their relationship like? We know they are fine at the end but where did they go? Were they just hiding, or were they searching for Vee? Were they like siblings to her? if not then why bother to stick together? maybe they did care for her...
During Vee's flashback of her time in captivity, we saw 5 cages... We know who inhabited cages 5, 4, and 3. Assuming that the greater basilisk was part of this row of cages, we are missing one basilisk. Who are they and where did they go? What did Belos do to them?
What was the aftermath of Eda's first transformation into the Owl Beast like? what did Lilith do after Eda ran away? What was Gween and Deell's first reaction to the whole situation?
Who was the owner of the Bat Queen? After what was said in the last PostHoot, and the possible connection between her and the tower of the Owl House, well, now I really want to know who.
How many Titans/islands exit in the Demon Realm? We know that other landmasses exist beyond the Demon realm, but we only know of two civilizations, The boiling Isles and the Titan Trappers Island. Are there the only ones? are there more somewhere out there?
Luz and Vee's relationship. There are obviously some unresolved issues between them which we never got to see being resolved. How did Luz feel about Vee being a better daughter to Camila? about Vee making friends in only a few months while she never got one throught her whole life in the human realm? How did she feel about getting a new demon sibling after seemingly losing one just a few days/weeks ago?
Philip and Caleb's relationship. We can only assume and interpret things based on what we saw in Belos's mindscape and what Masha told the Hexsquad.
Evelyn and Caleb's relationship. During the last PostHoot Dana described their relationship as something that developed slowly, but apart from that, we have nothing
Philip's arrival to the Demon realm. We don't have any specifics about when and how Philip ended up in the demon realm, did he follow Caleb exactly when he crossed with Evelyn? did it take him years to muster the courage to cross the portal or find him or it took him years just to find him when already in the demon realm?
What's up with the other coven heads? Hettie Cutborn? maybe she is a buff vampire. Vitmir? no idea what his deal is but he is definitely evil. Osran? also evil, but in a more cynical way. Mason? He gives me family man vibes.
How did Masha and the other Cabin 7 kids feel about the real Luz? it wasn't even addressed how Vee feels about the whole situation, heck she seemingly replaced them with Luz's friends! there is just a lot to unpack there...
What exactly is Raine's relationship with their... apprentices? (Amber, Katay, and Derwin) how did they all meet each other and how did they end up forming the rebellion?
Amity's palisman, how and when did she get them? Was the Bat Queen involved? Was Ghost Odalia's palisman?
Darius and Eberwolf… They seem so close, yet so personality-wise so different from one another. Maybe one day we will see how deep their dynamic goes.
Steve and Matt, we know they are half brothers, but what is their relationship really like? Wouldn't be a surprise if Matt resents him for "abandoning" him for the Emperor's coven.
Flora D'splora's original role and relevance to the story. The crew released a painting that was meant to be part of Hollow mind's background that depicts an unsettling scene of Belos alongside Flora... What was supposed to mean? Was Florea meant to be an antagonist? Or was it all just because of driving Lilith to find the time pools?
Vee and Hunter are literally siblings: kids artificially created by Belos to accomplish a single purpose, had to lie about their identity to make friends, both belong to an extinct species, their names are literally just titles the dynamic between them was literally the thing I wanted to most from Season 3... cries
Viney, Barcus, and Jerbo. I genuinely wanted to see what their newfound freedom to study any type of magic led them to. Possibly nothing important but considerating how multitracking became a thing at one point during the second season...
Hunter, buddy, how did you not recognize Kikimora's voice in For the Future? you worked alongside her your whole life! Don't take this one seriusly
How did Camila and Vee's relationship develop after the lie was no more? we know that at the end Vee is practically a Noceda, but how did they both handle the aftermath of Yesterday's lie? Did Camila at one point resent Vee for what she did, aware that if it wasn't for Luz's arrival, the lie would have continued indefinitely? Did Vee apologize and/or told Camila why she did it? Again, there is a lot to unpack there.
Personally, considerating all of these, I believe that if the Owl House ever gets a spin-off, it needs to be about what we missed because of the shortening. Like, don't get me wrong, A Young Eda and/or Evelyn sounds nice but I don't think that a whole series dedicated to them is necessary. Why not a little bit of everything? 1 episode for each one of these, maybe 2 if it seems necessary. We can finally get some closure for some of the characters that suffered from the shortening (Vee, Darius, Raine, Bosha, the Catss, etc) and get some well-needed answers for much of everything.
If I miss something, make me know and I will add them!

Hey am I the only one who thinks the Bat Queen can't be the Titan's palisman because of the simple fact that we have no evidence that Titans used palismen at all?
Like, hear me out. I think palismen are only a witch thing. We have no evidence of Titans using palismen too.
If the Titan's magic is like the stuff Titan Luz was doing, then it's mostly glyph based and it seems each individual Titan has their own glyph language unique to them but they can also learn each other's glyphs (seen as how King learned his dad's glyph language).
So like, what's the point of a Titan having a palisman?
Witches mostly need their palismen to fly and, son of a gun, Titans have wings!! They can fly by themselves!! They don't need palismen to fly!!
And like, the Bat Queen is big but she's not THAT big. I don't think she's big enough to have been the Titan's palisman.
I will die on this hill. The only one that can change my mind is Dana.
Palismen are a witch invention!!! Titans did not use them!!!

Hhhh just me spitting out thoughts,,,
Don't get me wrong I absolutely love that little huntlow moment where Willow cut Hunter's hair in the Thanks to Them montage but I KINDA wish it was Amity that stumbled across him and helped him cut it,,
Their only interaction was literally just Eclipse Lake and although we KNOW they don't hate each other it just kinda sucks that the last time we see Amity having to do with anything of Hunter, it's her glaring at him due to his double betrayal (and him looking moody when they had to rescue amity lmao). And it SUCKS bc Hunter (in Eclipse Lake) - although did only see Amity as a means to an end- was genuine when she eventually gave him the key (They DO have a lot in common I just kinda hate that that point was thrown out the window,,)
Also theres the point that Emira was the one who would always help Amity out with her hair. It would've been a nice parallel to see Amity helping Hunter out with his (Since Luz and him r siblings we could've gotten that sibling in law bonding :'))

Listen, I love amity.. BUT! I might trigger some Amity and Lumity fans so.. 😭 Season one Amity will always have more personality than seasons two and three combined.
As Luz said, she’s smart, cool, and classy. What made her such a fun character to me was the fact that she could be caring and protective under a sassy, powerful (her abomination and partial fire powers) exterior.
Lumity is great, but my gripe is the interaction between Luz and Amity (seasons 2-3). As different characters, they should be bouncing off of each other giving a character dynamic that’s perfect for shipping. Now they’re just kind of cute together.. and that’s about it.
My all time favorite Lumity moment is in, of course, season one where Luz first arrived to Grom. Amity wanted to thank Luz for taking the role of Grom Queen for her, and Luz cleverly remarks “You going soft on me, Blight?” In response, Amity, with her sass, laughs out “In your dreams!” This shows how fun the dynamic between these two can get, and it sucks that we don’t really have another moment like this in later episodes.
After season one, being Luz’s girlfriend was pretty much the only personality trait that Amity got. I don’t think she and Willow even had a proper moment to reconcile with past tension. She was just there as a love interest..
In the later seasons, I wish we had a more 3D Amity. She should have kept her sassy, strong punch, but she shouldn’t need to be a bully to do so. Her soft side for Luz should stay a SIDE of her, not her entire character. All these things should have been mixed together to create the perfect version of the character of Amity Blight.

Ever go along your day and suddenly think that actually we need to give more credit to Edalyn Fucking Clawthorne. Like, she was THE Owl Lady. She was THE most POWERFUL witch on the boiling isles even at middle age. And she received a damn CURSE that ate at her powers and limited her skills SINCE SHE WAS A TEEN. Its been burning through her powers since she was a damn CHILD and it seemed to really only take significant effect decades later. And even at the HEIGHT of the curse, even when it was taking over her entire form, even when it was DRAINING EVERY SINGLE BIT OUT OF HER, she was STILL WINNING AGAINST LILITH; AGAINST THE HEAD OF THE EMPEROR'S COVEN WHO COULD ALSO USE ALL THE MAGIC TYPES, ALSO TOWERED ABOVE OTHER WITCHES IN TERMS OF POWER.
There was a reason why Belos didn't go to fight her himself. He was a bitch but he was a smart bitch and he knew that without the safety net of being related to her(like Lilith being her sister) he'd be a damn sludge on the wall 2 seasons early.
Eda was kicking ass, doing crime and looking good even with a curse that everyone expects would pull her down. She took the chains of her curse and made it her necklace. She kicked cops in the face. She powered through every heartbreak and found people who loved her to bits. Even when her power was finally drained, she got her bombass Harpy form by parenting the shit out of the OwlBeast bc she's just that cool. And even without her powers and forms you say? We'll she's a fucking talented GENIUS, she's literally so smart she's smarter than Lilith despite how chaotic she acts. She's an amazing musician. She's one of theee best potion makers. And again, she's a damn GENIUS in both academics and street smarts. And at the end of it all, she opened up a school and worked to break down the foundations of the very system that shunned her and her people. She made people embraxe individuality all the while teaching them to appreciate the love and support of a family/community. She's building a world, a family that she would have loved to had when she was younger and hurt and confused and alone.
She had a disability and she wore it like a fucking QUEEN and idc how much The Owl House fandom dies down in the future, this woman never went down without a fucking fight ESPECIALLY if it was for the people she loves and she DESERVES the never ending praise.
"How pathetic are you, that you can't best me at my WORST."

Another thing that gets me about the fandom's reaction to Darius is that, ok, even if you think there should've been a scene of him directly apologizing to Hunter, considering the age of the target audience... why is Darius specifically singled out and condemed for the absence of such a scene when there is a pattern in the show of the characters displaying 'worse' behavior in the beginning and then switching to a milder characterization without the narrative focusing on the change?
Amity making her abomination draw on Willow's forehead when they are all alone, s1 Lilith looking down on others and her weird comments about humans, Bump's characterization switch before and after Hunting Palisman, Alador playing with Bump's palisman (that helps him see!!!) while his daughter's friends are getting expelled, Collector seemingly acting gleefuly over others suffering in s2? Even many of Eda's interactions with King who is meant to be 8 old. And some of these you can interpret as intentional absense of the full info at the beginning and some of the switches might be excused with character development happening off screen (i even began to understand Bump's characterization switch better on the rewatch)... still in my opinion there is a certain writing awkwardness in many of these cases, and i find this pattern to be one of the flaws of the show.
Yet all these are often excused or even barely aknowledged by the fandom, and when not excused then are seen as flaws in the writing, but not the end of the world for those characters.
And, ok, i admit, i don't actually think Darius really falls into that pattern, i think his behavior is much more consistent than the examples above and more easily explained, if you think about his character for a moment and pay attention to his scenes instead of condeming him outright. I think his relationship with Hunter is a very straighforward case of the 'adult is mean to a child before getting attached' that is played out again and again in media, often with the adults being meaner and for a longer time towards even younger kids. And that trope should be examined critically too, sure, but why is the Black character condemed for it like this, but not all the white characters across all those other shows and books and games and comics? Although i do think there should've been a moment of Darius apologizing to Hunter or talking to someone else about his thought process, but i would want it more for Darius's own character, not because i think he did something so irredeemable.
So why is then Darius's case so different for the toh fandom specifically? If you (general you) also see all those other cases above as flawed writing, then why is only Darius so widely condemned as a person instead of looking at his writing from the same perspective? Especially since ASIAS had not even allowed Willow - a major character - to have a conclusion for her part of the story. Maybe a better point of discussion would be why toh's characters of color get less time dedicated to them and their development than white characters of the same narrative importance. Why did Alador get 2 episodes where he could verbalize his thoughts, why did Gwen get the resolution in one episode that still had some focus on her thought process and realization of her mistakes?
And if you don't see all those other cases as a writing flaw at all and think it is natural for all those other characters to have offscreen development or excuse everything - even the sidelining of Gus and Willow - with the shortening, then why is Darius viewed differently and why does he have to self-flagellate for his mistakes on screen or otherwise he is a considered a bad person in-universe and a bad character unworthy of positive attention?
Why was Camila also widely hated before s3 and had to 'prove' herself in the fandom's eyes by taking care of the white child and being a fellow pop-culture nerd all the while Eda had threatened an elementary schooler with physical violence over stealing her elixir and still was considered the best? How did the super fans manage to examine all those memory portraits and figure out the story for Caleb and Evelyn or invent a sob story for Graye after one episode, but the oddities with Darius's supposed villainy in ER or even his openly upset expressions during the Blimp scene in ASIAS didn't even register for them?

Big fat rant about nothing, just me yapping about TOH’s ending under the cut🦟
Okay so obviously I have massive witterot but like it’s so severe like I’m so ill about 2 fictional dead guys and one has committed serval acts of genocide but HES HOT SO HEAR ME OUT
I wish we got more content regrading the trio ( Caleb,Philip, and Evelyn ) because all we got were the pictures in hollow mind, and even that wasn’t much. Like yeah, we know what happened, partially. And that’s only Philips POV too, so this part of the fandom is literally just living off of scraps
Call me crazy but, I think TOH would’ve been better if there wasn’t a happy ending. I am so tired of happy endings in shows, like if they’re executed well then I enjoy them, but if TOH was for a slightly older age group and didn’t end in sunshine and rainbows, I would’ve been so happy. Please let the villain win for once, that’s all I ask.
That’s not even me being biased about Belos and stuff, just genuinely, how did this man with centuries of experience get overthrown by a 15 year old girl who didn’t even have to do that much to earn it? Luz found out about glyphs like a week into the demon realm?! Excuse me?! Like I do sort of understand since Eda is a wild witch n all, she might’ve practiced this stuff before hand or May have books about it, but it’s clearly stated in s1 ep4 that she doesn’t know how witches used to do magic?
And even then that raises questions, did Belos completely erase the existence of glyphs from the public eye? Are there no books about this stuff? Did he just destroy all records of this stuff? And how did he do that? Was it before or after he became emperor? Because all we know is that he’s been in power for a little over 50 years out of the maybe 350-400 he tried to recruit people to his cause. How do people not question how this man stays alive?! We don’t know for sure how long witches live, and even if they do live that long in the sense they don’t questions Belos’s age, then wouldn’t some people from the 1600-1700s still be alive to call him out on his bs?
This is why if we had info on how long witches live, it would help plan the timeline out so much more.
Witches seem to age like humans do though, so I assume they would live 80 years on average like humans? Because Edas mom, depending on how old she was when she had Lilith, is actually the age most people would be when their kids are 40 or so.
ive had this in my head for awhile, I might be overanalyzing this quote but in s1 ep13, Principal Bump says “Only 300 years till retirement” but in the finale, 4 years later, he’s seen being retired. So maybe time runs differently in the demon realm? Or that quote could’ve been a joke, but still, that’s a thing.
Back to Luz’s magic development though, in the matter of like 2 months, she learned all 4 of the main glyphs meanwhile Philip learned them way later. Now yes, I know Philip did say “it’s almost as if the Titan wanted to keep them hidden from me.” BUT this raises another question!
Did Philip only start learning glyphs AFTER CALEBS DEATH? Because we know the Titan can look over the isles through the middle realm, and maybe he knew Philips intentions weren’t pure so he hid the glyphs, but also how does he still have the power to do that if he’s assumably been dead for thousands of years? I mean clearly it didn’t work, but it still hid them to some extent.
And when did Philip change his identity? We can assume it’s after he met the collector, but did the collector tell him to do all of that? HOW LONG HAS HE BEEN PLANNING THIS? Has he been planning this even before Caleb’s death? You would assume so.
My god this whole timeline is fucked

lilith should have stayed a villain honestly. her dynamic with eda was so interesting, her devotion towards belos was a stark contrast to eda's disdain for him, and while lilith wasn't always the most efficient or intimidating villain, she served her purpose quite well.
but not only was her redemption absolute trash, with everyone forgiving her immediately, but she also serves no real purpose to the story going forward.
there was so much you could have done with an ex-member of the emperor's coven. she would have known belos a lot better than any of our protagonists (except for hunter). she could have been a very valuable member of the team, but instead she almost immediately leaves to stay with her mother. which, sure, on an emotional aspect, it's good but it doesn't really drive the plot forward.
the one time she was useful was in the time travelling episode. and honestly?? this could have been done by anyone. we didn't even know lilith had an interest in history until that episode. she could have been replaced by any other character who also knew a bit about history, and the episode would have been the same.
hunter was also underutilized as someone who knew belos on a personal basis. but at least he has the excuse of joining the protagonists late, and there wasn't enough time in the show for him to really put his experience in the emperor's coven to good use.

hahhhh okay.
so I see your ‘Belos was a strange social outcast in the 1600s’ headcanons, and while interesting, I raise you:
Phillip was popular.
because really. This is the guy who managed to dupe the whole Isles into mostly falling in line for him. This is the dude who’s a chronic manipulator. This is the dude who basically talked his way into becoming the Emperor! He’s charismatic. He knows how people work. He knows how to talk to them.
So tell me this kid wasn’t the one who everyone liked! Paired with the devout religiousness and the penchant for conformity, he was probably the village darling! He was the kid who would let all the old ladies pinch his cheeks and would sit in the front row at church.
Bonus- Caleb was the social outcast. Of course he would turn to the demon realm- he was seen as a strange weirdo, and isn’t it such a shame that Phillip is being taken care of by that odd witch?
